ObjectiveThis study investigated the diagnostic performance of thrombin–antithrombin complex (TAT), plasmin–α2 plasmin inhibitor complex (PIC), tissue plasminogen activator–plasminogen activator inhibitor complex (t-PAIC), and thrombomodulin (TM) in predicting the progression of massive cerebral infarction to the malignant cerebral artery infarction.MethodA total of 71 patients with massive cerebral infarction confirmed by imaging examination were divided into malignant cerebral artery infarction group (MCAI) and non-malignant cerebral artery infarction group (NMCAI) based on whether they progressed to MCAI after admission. TAT, PIC, t-PAIC, and TM were measured immediately after admission. The predictive performance was analyzed by the receiver characteristic operating curve (ROC).ResultThe median plasma concentrations of TM, PIC, TAT, and t-PAIC in the MCAI patients at admission were 10.65 IU/mL, 1.17 μg/mL, 12.25 ng/mL, and 13.85 ng/mL, respectively, which were higher than those in the NMCAI patients (9.00 IU/mL, 1.07 μg/mL, 4.60 ng/mL, and 8.70 ng/mL), and the difference was statistically significant (p = 0.045, p = 0.035, p = 0.004, and p = 0.003). Elevated plasma t-PAIC concentration was shown to be an independent risk factor for progression of massive cerebral infarction to MCAI (OR = 1.131) by multivariate logistic regression analysis. ROC curve analysis showed that t-PAIC was the best predictor of MCAI (AUC = 74.7%), with a sensitivity of 75.0% and specificity of 75.9% when t-PAIC concentration was ≥12.4 ng/mL; TAT had the highest specificity in predicting MCAI, with a specificity of 90.7% when the TAT concentration was ≥13.5 ng/mL.ConclusionThe detection of PIC, TAT, t-PAIC, and TM is a comprehensive assessment of vascular endothelial damage and activation of the coagulation and fibrinolytic systems and has predictive value for poor prognosis in patients with MCAI. The widespread use of these tests will likely greatly improve the early diagnosis rate of MCAI.

Grasslands are one of the largest coupled human-nature terrestrial ecosystems on Earth, and severe anthropogenic-induced grassland ecosystem function declines have been reported recently. Understanding factors influencing grassland ecosystem functions is critical for making sustainable management policies. Canopy structure is an important factor influencing plant growth through mediating within-canopy microclimate (e.g., light, water, and wind), and it is found coordinating tightly with plant species diversity to influence forest ecosystem functions. However, the role of canopy structure in regulating grassland ecosystem functions along with plant species diversity has been rarely investigated. Here, we investigated this problem by collecting field data from 170 field plots distributed along an over 2000 km transect across the northern agro-pastoral ecotone of China. Aboveground net primary productivity (ANPP) and resilience, two indicators of grassland ecosystem functions, were measured from field data and satellite remote sensing data. Terrestrial laser scanning data were collected to measure canopy structure (represented by mean height and canopy cover). Our results showed that plant species diversity was positively correlated to canopy structural traits, and negatively correlated to human activity intensity. Canopy structure was a significant indicator for ANPP and resilience, but their correlations were inconsistent under different human activity intensity levels. Compared to plant species diversity, canopy structural traits were better indicators for grassland ecosystem functions, especially for ANPP. Through structure equation modeling analyses, we found that plant species diversity did not have a direct influence on ANPP under human disturbances. Instead, it had a strong indirect effect on ANPP by altering canopy structural traits. As to resilience, plant species diversity had both a direct positive contribution and an indirect contribution through mediating canopy cover. This study highlights that canopy structure is an important intermediate factor regulating grassland diversity-function relationships under human disturbances, which should be included in future grassland monitoring and management.

We experimentally demonstrate the intensity and angle control of interference image during all-optical logic (AOL) gate carrying orbital angular momentum (OAM) in a hot atomic ensemble. The variation of output signal intensity has been discovered by changing the detuning of input field. By changing the angle of reference light, we can also get obvious output signal modulation effects. Moreover, the transition of the interference pattern from parallel shape to spiral shape by changing the small angle is observed. This novel method of controlling AOL gate carrying OAM will further promoting the construction of all-optical networks with atomic ensembles.

AimTo explore the feasibility of Omaha system theory in the care of children with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), which may provide a practical basis for the continuous nursing of DCM children.MethodsA total of 1,392 records describing symptoms, signs, and nursing interventions were extracted from the medical records of 76 children suffered from DCM. Content analysis method was used to find out existent nursing problems, make precise nursing plans, and take corresponding nursing measurements according to the medical records of DCM children. Cross-mapping method was utilized to compare the conceptual consistency of the medical records and Omaha system (problem classification and intervention subsystems).ResultsOf the total 1,392 records, 1,094 (78.59%) were complete consistency, while 245 (17.60%) were partial consistency, and 53 (3.81%) were inconsistency with the Omaha system concepts. The concept matching degree of medical records and Omaha system was approximately 96.19%.ConclusionsThe Omaha system may be an effective nursing language for Chinese DCM children, which may be useful to guide nurses in the care of DCM. Further well-design studies need to fully evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of the Omaha system in nursing children with DCM.

ObjectiveThis study investigated the diagnostic performance of the thrombin-antithrombin complex (TAT), plasmin-α2 plasmin inhibitor complex (PIC), tissue plasminogen activator-plasminogen activator inhibitor complex (t-PAIC), and thrombomodulin (TM) in the early identification of massive cerebral infarction.MethodA total of 423 patients with cerebral infarction confirmed by imaging examination were divided into the massive cerebral infarction (MCI) group and the non-massive cerebral infarction (NMCI) group. TAT, PIC, t-PAIC, and TM were measured immediately after admission. The diagnostic performance was analyzed by the receiver characteristic operating curve (ROC).ResultThe median plasma concentrations of TAT, PIC, and t-PAIC in patients with MCI at early onset were 5.10 ng/ml, 1.11 μg/ml, and 8.80 ng/ml, respectively, which were higher than those in patients with NMCI (2.20 ng/ml, 0.59 μg/ml, and 7.35 ng/ml), and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.001). TAT was shown to be an independent risk factor for the development of massive cerebral infarction by a multivariate logistic regression analysis (OR = 1.138). A ROC curve analysis showed that PIC had the best performance in identifying MCI at an early stage (AUC = 82.8%), with a sensitivity of 80.7% and a specificity of 76.2% when the PIC concentration was ≥0.8 μg/ml; TAT had the highest specificity in identifying MCI, with a specificity of 80.6% when the TAT concentration was ≥3.97 ng/ml.ConclusionThe detection of PIC, TAT, t-PAIC, and TM is a comprehensive assessment of vascular endothelial damage and activation of the coagulation and fibrinolytic systems and has diagnostic value for early identification of patients with MCI, which, together with its ease of detection, can be used as a plasma marker for early identification of large vessel occlusion.

A fast and robust template matching scheme, called Matching by Slice Transform Matrix Mapping (MSTMM), is proposed for the matching difficulty under occluded scenarios caused by nonlinear intensity differences and structure differences between visible and thermal infrared images. The first step in the MSTMM scheme was to extract information about the distribution of pixels with the same gray level through the developed Expanded Slice Transform with Adaptive Gray Level (EST-AGL). After completing the construction of the EST-AGL matrix for all image patches, different EST-AGL matrices were mapped to different integers or floats through the traditional special integer mapping mechanism or the neural network mapping mechanism. Finally, template matching between visible and thermal infrared images was achieved by evaluating the similarity of correlation mapping surface images through the Normalized Cross Correlation (NCC) algorithm. The proposed EST-AGL method can overcome the nonlinear intensity differences between visible and thermal infrared images by extracting the structural features of the image. The mapping mechanism of the MSTMM scheme can reduce the structural differences between the normal template image and the query image under an occluded scenario by increasing the similarity between the normal image patches and the image patches with occlusion. The proper mapping mechanism ensures the high performance of the MSTMM scheme by using only the simple NCC algorithm instead of other time-consuming anti-occlusion dense feature algorithms in the similarity evaluation stage. The three main experimental results of the MSTMM scheme are as follows: (1) the scheme of MSTMM can achieve template matching in only 0.015 seconds when a $64\times 64$ template image slides on a $256\times 256$ query image on a hardware platform with limited resources; (2) the matching success rate of the MSTMM scheme can reach up to 75% among 2107 experimental samples; and (3) the neural network training in the neural network mapping mechanism only takes at least 104.4 seconds on the CPU.

In this article, we firstly establish a nonlinear population dynamical model to describe the changes and interaction of the density of patient population of China's primary medical institutions (PHCIs) and hospitals in China's medical system. Next we get some sufficient conditions of existence of positive singularity by utilising homotopy invariance theorem of topological degree. Meanwhile, we study the qualitative properties of positive singularity based on Perron's first theorem. Furthermore, we briefly analyze the significance and function of the mathematical results obtained in this paper in practical application. As verifications, some numerical examples are ultimately exploited the correctness of our main results. Combined with the numerical simulation results and practical application, we give some corresponding suggestions. Our research can provide a certain theoretical basis for government departments to formulate relevant policies.

With the growing demand for data sharing file formats in financial applications driven by open banking, the use of the OFD (open fixed-layout document) format has become widespread. However, ensuring data security, traceability, and accountability poses significant challenges. To address these concerns, we propose E-SAWM, a dynamic watermarking service framework designed for edge cloud scenarios. This framework incorporates dynamic watermark information at the edge, allowing for precise tracking of data leakage throughout the data-sharing process. By utilizing semantic analysis, E-SAWM generates highly realistic pseudostatements that exploit the structural characteristics of documents within OFD files. These pseudostatements are strategically distributed to embed redundant bits into the structural documents, ensuring that the watermark remains resistant to removal or complete destruction. Experimental results demonstrate that our algorithm has a minimal impact on the original file size, with the watermarked text occupying less than 15%, indicating a high capacity for carrying the watermark. Additionally, compared to existing explicit watermarking schemes for OFD files based on annotation structure, our proposed watermarking scheme is suitable for the technical requirements of complex dynamic watermarking in edge cloud scenario deployment. It effectively overcomes vulnerabilities associated with easy deletion and tampering, providing high concealment and robustness.

Abstract Background Candida albicans, the main human fungal pathogen, can cause fungal infection and seriously affect people's health and life. This study aimed to investigate the effects of ritonavir (RIT) on C. albicans and the correlation between SAP2 as well as ERG11 and drug resistance. Results Secreted aspartyl proteinases (Saps) activities and pathogenicity of C. albicans with different drug resistance were measured. M27‐A4 broth microdilution method was used to analyze the drug sensitivity of RIT combined with fluconazole (FCA) on C. albicans. After that, SAP2 and ERG11 mutations were examined by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and sequencing, and quantitative real‐time PCR was utilized to determine the expression of the two genes. By analyzing pz values, the Saps activity of cross‐resistant strains was the highest, followed by voriconazole (VRC)‐resistant strains, FCA‐resistant strains, itraconazole (ITR)‐resistant strains, and sensitive strains. The pathogenicity of C. albicans in descending order was as follows: cross‐resistant strains, VRC‐resistant strains, ITR‐resistant strains, FCA‐resistant strains, and sensitive strains. With the increase of RIT concentrations, the Saps activity was gradually inhibited. Drug sensitivity results showed that there was no synergistic effect between RIT and FCA. Additionally, no gene mutation sites were found in SAP2 sequencing, and 17 synonymous mutations and 6 missense mutations occurred in ERG11 sequencing. Finally, the expression of SAP2 and ERG11 was significantly higher in the resistant strains compared with the sensitive strains, and there was a positive liner correlation between SAP2 and ERG11 messenger RNA expression (r = .6655, p

The number of patients in a hospital is a direct indicator of patients' choice of hospital, which is a complex process affected by many factors. Based on the national medical system and patients' preference for high-grade hospitals in China, this study establishes a three-dimensional differential equation model for calculating the time variation of the number of visits to three grades of hospitals. We performed a qualitative analysis of the system. We carried out a subsequent numerical simulation to analyze the impact on the system when the rate of leapfrog treatment and the maximum capacity of doctors and treatments changed. The results show that the sustainability of China's three levels of hospitals mainly depends on the level of hospital development. The strength of comprehensive health improvement at specific levels is the key to increasing the service efficiency of medical resources.

BackgroundDreams can be affected by recent life events and long-term life experiences. Previous evidence has shown that childhood adverse experiences are associated with sleep quality and dream experiences.ObjectiveThe aim of this study was to explore the relationship between childhood adverse experiences and dream content in adults.Participants and SettingA total of 163 participants without current or past physical or mental disorders aged between 18 and 35 were screened in the hospital. Among them, 120 subjects who completed a dream content record at home and whose anxiety and depression levels and sleep quality were within the normal range were included in the data analysis.MethodsA cross-sectional survey was conducted from June 2017 to December 2019. Dream content for 10 consecutive days was recorded by the participants and coded by the Hall and Van de Castle coding system. Childhood adversity was assessed by the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ). In the end, 719 dreams out of 626 nights for 120 participants (44 female) were included in the data analysis, gender differences between groups were analyzed using t-tests or U tests, and Spearman’s partial correlation and multiple linear regression were used to investigate the relationship between childhood trauma and dream content.ResultsChildhood adversity was associated with characters, friendly interactions, and objects in dream content. Regression models of childhood adversity predicting characters and objects in dream content were constructed. There were no gender differences in general demographic data, sleep quality, emotional state, childhood adversity, dream recall frequency, or dream content.ConclusionChildhood adversity is associated with adult dream content.

Abstract Cancer cells secrete abundant exosomes, and the secretion can be promoted by an increase of intracellular Ca2+. Stromal interaction molecule 1 (STIM1) plays a key role in shaping Ca2+ signals. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have been reported to be potential therapeutic targets for many diseases, including breast cancer. Recently, we investigated the effect of exosomes from STIM1-knockout breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells (Exo-STIM1-KO), and from SKF96365-treated MDA-MB-231 cells (Exo-SKF) on angiogenesis in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) and nude mice. The exosomes Exo-STIM1-KO and Exo-SKF inhibited tube formation by HUVECs remarkably. The miR-145 was increased in SKF96365 treated or STIM1-knockout MDA-MB-231 cells, Exo-SKF and Exo-STIM1-KO, and HUVECs treated with Exo-SKF or Exo-STIM1-KO. Moreover, the expressions of insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS1), which is the target of miR-145, and the downstream proteins such as Akt/mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), Raf/extracellular signal regulated-protein kinase (ERK), and p38 were markedly inhibited in HUVECs treated with Exo-SKF or Exo-STIM1-KO. Matrigel plug assay in vivo showed that tumor angiogenesis was suppressed in Exo-STIM1-KO, but promoted when miR-145 antagomir was added. Taken together, our findings suggest that STIM1 promotes angiogenesis by reducing exosomal miR-145 in breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells.

Abstract Loess covers approximately 6.6% of China and forms thick extensive deposits in the northern and northwestern parts of the country. Natural erosional processes and human modification of thick loess deposits have produced abundant, potentially unstable steep slopes in this region. Slope deformation monitoring aimed at evaluating the mechanical behavior of a loess slope has shown a cyclic pattern of contraction and expansion. Such cyclic strain change on the slope materials can damage the loess and contribute to slope instability. The site showing this behavior is a 70-m high loess slope near Yan’an city in Shanxi Province, northwest China. A Ground-Based Synthetic Aperture Radar (GB-SAR) sensor and a displacement meter were used to monitor this cyclic deformation of the slope over a one-year period from September 2018 to August 2019. It is postulated that this cyclic behavior corresponds to thermal and moisture fluctuations, following energy conservation laws. To investigate the validity of this mechanism, physical models of soil temperature and moisture measured by hygrothermographs were used to simulate the observed cyclic deformations. We found good correlations between the models based on the proposed mechanism and the exhibited daily and annual cyclic contraction and expansion. The slope absorbed energy from the time of maximum contraction to the time of maximum expansion, and released energy from the time of maximum expansion to the time of maximum contraction. Recoverable cyclic deformations suggest stresses in the loess are within the elastic range, and non-recoverable cyclic deformations suggest damage of the loess material (breakage of bonds between soil grains), which could lead to instability. Based on these observations and the models, we developed a quantitative relationship between weather cycles and thermal deformation of the slope. Given the current climate change projections of temperature increases of up to 3.5 °C by 2100, the model estimates the loess slope to expand about 0.35 mm in average, which would be in addition to the current cyclic “breathing” behavior experienced by the slope.

Based on the advantages of the silicone graphene composite thermal insulation board, it was used to replace traditional plywood in the external wall formwork system, and the active embedded steel wire knot form in silicone graphene composite thermal insulation structure integrated system was designed. Firstly, the theoretical model of steel wire drawing resistance was established by theoretical analysis method, and the rationality of the theoretical model was verified by combining relevant experimental data. The relationship between multiple variables and steel wire pull-out resistance was analyzed. Then, combined with the theory of wind pressure strength of the exterior wall of a building structure, the layout form and the corresponding number of embedded steel wires of thermal insulation board under different building heights were analyzed. Finally, the silicone graphene composite thermal insulation board and ordinary plywood were compared and analyzed from the force of perspective of external wall formwork. The results showed that the pull-out resistance of steel wire was directly proportional to the diameter of steel wire, embedded depth, and embedded deflection angle. With the increase of building height, the number of steel wires to be arranged also increased. When the thickness of the silicone graphene composite thermal insulation board is not less than 80 mm, the anti-deformation effect is close to that of the ordinary plywood, which can meet the construction requirements of the external wall formwork. It can ensure the energy conservation and thermal insulation of the external wall, integrate the building’s exterior wall and thermal insulation structure of the building, and achieve the purpose of exemption from formwork removal.

Accurate quantification of grassland structural and functional traits is the foundation for grassland management and restoration. Light detection and ranging (lidar), especially the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) lidar, has been recognized as an accurate and effective technique for local to regional-scale vegetation structural and functional traits estimation. However, in grassland ecosystems, it is more likely to be influenced by UAV lidar information loss caused by dense vegetation canopies. In this study, we investigated how UAV lidar information loss may occur and how it may influence the estimation accuracy of grassland structural and functional traits by comparing it with terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) and field measurements in a meadow steppe of northern China. Five structural traits (i.e., mean vegetation height, maximum vegetation height, standard deviation of vegetation height, canopy cover, and canopy volume) and one functional trait (i.e., aboveground biomass) were estimated from the UAV lidar data and TLS data for evaluation. The results showed that TLS-derived structural and functional traits had a much higher accuracy than UAV lidar-derived traits. By comparing with TLS data, we found that UAV lidar data had a much more prevailing information loss at canopy tops than at canopy bottoms. The average height loss of UAV lidar at canopy tops reached over 0.30 m, and the average relative height loss reached over 49%, comparing to a value of 0.03 m and 6% at canopy bottoms. Maximum vegetation height, standard deviation, and the distance from the UAV lidar system to the ground were the three most influential factors on UAV lidar information loss at canopy tops, indicating the commonly seen sharp canopy tops of grasslands were prone to be missed by the UAV lidar system. UAV lidar information loss at canopy tops had a much stronger influence on the estimation accuracy of grassland structural and functional traits than that at canopy bottoms. With the decrease of information loss at canopy tops, UAV lidar can be used to extract grassland structural and functional traits with a comparable accuracy to TLS. Among the five grassland traits, aboveground biomass was the least influenced by UAV lidar information loss. This study is a very first evaluation on the UAV lidar information loss in grassland ecosystems and its influence on grassland structural and functional trait estimation, which can provide guidance for UAV lidar data collection and processing in future grassland applications.

The treatment of chronic stable heart failure (CSHF) with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine has been of wide concern. We mainly discuss the clinical efficacy of TCM decoction combined with acupuncture and moxibustion (A&M) in CSHF treatment on the basis of syndrome differentiation and treatment (SDT). The control group was given conventional cardiac rehabilitation (CCR), and the treatment group was given TCM decoction combined with A&M treatment based on SDT on the basis of conventional cardiac rehabilitation. The clinical efficacy and cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) indicators were evaluated. Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), NT-proBNP, myocardial ischemia threshold (MIT), and 6-minute walking distance (6MWD) were measured by ultrasound, ELISA, electrocardiogram, and 6MWD test. After treatment, the clinical efficacy, LVEF, and 6MWD of the treatment group were better than in the control group. The NT-proBNP plasma level and MIT in the treatment group were lower than in the control group. The treatment group had enhanced AT, VO2 Peak, VO2 Peak/HR, and Peak power and decreased resting systolic pressure and peak systolic pressure, and the difference was statistically significant. Dialectical comprehensive treatment of TCM could effectively improve cardiac function and clinical treatment effect, which was worthy of clinical application.

Most of TiO2 particles can be used as a photocatalyst for the selective oxidation of cyclohexane under ultraviolet light illumination. In this paper, Ti3+ self-doped TiO2 submicron-sized particles (i.e., Ti3+/TiO2 SMP) were used as a catalyst for visible-light driven photocatalytic cyclohexane oxidation. The microstructure and properties of the Ti3+/TiO2 SMP were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV–visible diffuse reflection (UV–Vis DRS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), solid-state photoluminescence spectroscopy (PLS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The Ti3+/TiO2 SMP exhibits good visible-light driven photocatalytic performances for cyclohexane oxidation with cyclohexanone as a dominate product. Effects of solvent, reaction temperature, reaction time and oxygen pressure on the formation of cyclohexanone were investigated. The cyclohexane oxidation over the Ti3+/TiO2 SMP photocatalyst using carbon tetrachloride as a solvent under the optimal conditions presents a greater selectivity to cyclohexane (i.e., 95.1%). Based on the controlled experimental results with different radical scavengers, the hole (h+) is critical for the activation of cyclohexane. The oncogene c-Jun is activated by Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK). Exosomes are nanometer-sized membrane vesicles released from a variety of cell types, and are essential for cell-to-cell communication. By using specific JNK inhibitor SP600125 or CRISPR/Cas9 to delete c-Jun, we found that exosomes from SP600125-treated A549 cancer cells (Exo-SP) or from c-Jun-KO-A549 cells (Exo-c-Jun-KO) dramatically inhibited tube formation of HUVECs. And the miR-494 levels in SP600125 treated or c-Jun-KO A549 cells, Exo-SP or Exo-c-Jun-KO, and HUVECs treated with Exo-SP or Exo-c-Jun-KO were significantly decreased. Meanwhile, Exo-SP and Exo-c-Jun-KO enhanced expression of phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome ten (PTEN). Addition of miR-494 agomir in Exo-c-Jun-KO treated HUVECs inhibited PTEN expression and promoted tube formation, suggesting the target of miR-494 might be PTEN in HUVECs. Moreover, A549 tumor xenograft model and Matrigel plug assay demonstrated that Exo-c-Jun-KO attenuated tumor growth and angiogenesis through reducing miR-494. Taken together, inhibition of c-Jun in A549 cancer cells exhibited antiangiogenic activity in vitro and in vivo through exosome/miRNA-494-3p/PTEN signal pathway.

Lansoprazole (Lpz) is an FDA-approved proton pump inhibitor (PPI) drug for the therapy of acid-related diseases. Aiming to explore the new application of old drugs, we recently investigated the antitumor effect of Lpz. We demonstrated that the PPI Lpz played a tumor suppressive role in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) A549 cells. Mechanistically, Lpz induced apoptosis and G0/G1 cell cycle arrest by inhibiting the activation of signal transducer and activator of transcription (Stat) 3 and the phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt and Raf/ERK pathways. In addition, Lpz inhibited autophagy by blocking the fusion of autophagosomes with lysosomes. Furthermore, Lpz in combination with gefitinib (Gef) showed a synergistic antitumor effect on A549 cells, with enhanced G0/G1 cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. The combination inhibited Stat3 phosphorylation, PI3K/Akt and Raf/ERK signaling, affecting cell cycle-related proteins such as p-Rb, cyclin D1 and p27, as well as apoptotic proteins such as Bax, Bcl-2, caspase-3, and poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP). In vivo, coadministration with Lpz and Gef significantly attenuated the growth of A549 nude mouse xenograft models. These findings suggest that Lpz might be applied in combination with Gef for NSCLC therapy, but further evidence is required.

The river centerline is a basic hydrological characteristic. Most prior studies have used remote sensing data to extract the river centerline from the open water region in a pure water pixel region. Extracting this type of river is relatively easy. However, extracting the centerline of a micro-river, which is mainly composed of mixed water pixels, is challenging. This paper presents a novel method, called the Multiple Direction Integration Algorithm (MDIA), to extract the river centerline using an image-enhancing method combined with river morphology. MDIA can be applied to regions mainly composed of pure water pixels, as well as to regions consisting of mixed water pixels in the index image. The method first calculates the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and enhances the river linear structure using a Hessian matrix. Second, a small window is constructed as a circular structural element. In the window region, the local threshold is automatically obtained using water-oriented clustering segmentation and prior river knowledge to judge the pixel type. After completing the river centerline extraction in the current window, the next detecting window is generated to continue judgment. The structural element automatically executes river centerline judgment until the entire river centerline is extracted. The Landsat 8 images of six regions with different geomorphologies were chosen to analyze the method’s performance. The test sites include high mountain region, low mountain region, plains region with farmland and a residential region. The experimental results show that the optimal threshold of the processing results ranged from 0.2 to 0.3. In this range, the user’s accuracy is 0.813 to 0.997, and the producer’s accuracy is 0.981 to 1. The MDIA effectively and correctly extracts the river network in mixed-pixel regions. The presented method provides an effective algorithm for river centerline extraction that can be used to expand and update river datasets and provide reliable river centerline data for relevant hydrology studies.

Thanks to the geometric and material complexity of additive manufacturing, the design space of mechanical parts has been developed, in which lattice filling structure customization can be applied to the solid filling of mechanical parts to achieve the goal of mechanical structure lightweight. A kind of diamond lattice structure unit is designed by imitating the natural method based on Design for Additive Manufacturing of mechanical parts. The mathematical model of the relative density and mechanical properties of the unit are established, and the relationship between the two is obtained, which is verified by simulations; then the relatively uniform results are obtained. The variable density hypothesis of diamond lattice structure is proposed, the methods of simulations and compression tests are used to verify the hypothesis, and the results show that the variable density structure with the density of the filling element decreasing gradually with the stress point as the center has better compression performance and concurrently verify the correctness and applicability of the equivalent modulus of elasticity mathematical model. The results of this study can be applied to the solid sandwich filling of pressure mechanical parts, and the stress density matching relationship can be carried out to further specific design.

In this study, we established a two-dimensional logistic differential equation model to study the number of visits in Chinese PHCIs and hospitals based on the behavior of patients. We determine the model's equilibrium points and analyze their stability and then use China medical services data to fit the unknown parameters of the model. Finally, the sensitivity of model parameters is evaluated to determine the parameters that are susceptible to influence the system. The results indicate that the system corresponds to the zero-equilibrium point, the boundary equilibrium point, and the positive equilibrium point under different parameter conditions. We found that, in order to substantially increase visits to PHCIs, efforts should be made to improve PHCI comprehensive capacity and maximum service capacity.

Renal fibrosis is the common manifestation of the pathogenesis of end-stage renal disease that results from different types of renal insult, and is a hallmark of chronic kidney disease (CKD). The main pathologic characteristics of renal fibrosis are renal interstitial fibroblast hyperplasia and the aberrant and excessive deposition of extracellular matrix, pathologies that lead to the destruction of normal renal tubules and interstitial structures. However, the biological significance of fibrosis during the progression of CKD is not clear, and there are no approved clinical treatments for delaying or reversing renal fibrosis. Studies of the mechanism of renal fibrosis and of potential measures of prevention and treatment have focused on erythropoietin (EPO), a hormone best known as a regulator of red blood cell production. These recent studies have found that EPO may also provide efficient protection against renal fibrosis. Future therapeutic approaches using EPO offer new hope for patients with CKD. The aim of the present review is to briefly discuss the role of EPO in renal fibrosis, to identify its possible mechanisms in preventing renal fibrosis, and to provide novel ideas for the use of EPO in future treatments of renal fibrosis.

Idlers, one of the important parts of belt conveyors, are substantial and constitute approximately one-third of the equipment cost. Therefore, idlers in conveyor systems must be optimized. This study designs a new kind of idler on the basis of theoretical calculation and coupling simulation, with the shaft, shell, and labyrinth gland of the idler as optimization variables and overall cost and life span of the idler as objective functions. According to each independent variable of the idler, this idler adopts the equal strength beam concept and maximizes the overall carrying capacity of the shaft and the bearing by using a hollow step-shaft. The idler effectively adopts the one-piece casting labyrinth gland, thereby automatically enhancing the sealing effect with a screw structure in different rotation directions. The simulation analysis shows that under certain working conditions, the stress of the new idler shaft is one-third of the stress of the traditional idler shaft, and the strain is one-half of the traditional idler shaft, and the effect is obvious. A reliability analysis of the idler system is described in this work through the establishment of a fault tree, determination of the logical relationship of each component and provides methods for further research. Finally, the idler is verified to be practical in engineering applications, with a 10% cost reduction and considerable economic benefits.

The indentation rolling resistance of a belt conveyor with stable operation accounts for more than 60% of the total resistance. Thus, the effective reduction of indentation rolling resistance and its energy consumption have attracted considerable attention of engineers. Indentation rolling resistance is due to the viscoelasticity of conveyor belt. A three-parameter Kelvin solid model is used to characterize the viscoelasticity of materials. The parameters of the Kelvin solid model include two elastic moduli E 0 and E 1 and one viscous coefficient η 1 , and their fitting functions are obtained by completing a dynamic tensile test. A mathematical model of indentation rolling resistance is derived, on the basis of theoretical analysis, which is directly expressed by belt speed, idler radius, and cover layer thickness under the conveyor belt, and is indirectly expressed by normal load and temperature. The influence of five factors on indentation rolling resistance and the influence of combined conditions of any two factors on indentation rolling resistance are separately analyzed on the basis of the mathematical model. The theory in this study is accurate based on the consistency between the theoretical calculation and experimental results. In practical engineering, the operating conditions of belt conveyors are any combination of all factors. Various factors should be considered to reduce indentation rolling resistance.

The dynamic characteristics of a road on a subgrade filled with different materials under traffic loads are studied. An elastic double-layer plate model on a viscoelastic subgrade is established to describe the dynamic behavior of the road. The load diffusion path in the form of a cone in the stabilised layer under single vibration source and three vibration sources is considered, and the equations for the displacement and effective soil pressure of the elastic double-layer plate on the viscoelastic subgrade are derived. The relevant empirical formulae are then properly revised to reflect the dynamic behavior of the road. The dynamic response of the road is analysed by adjusting factors such as the excitation load, excitation frequency, and subgrade filling materials. The results show that gravel as a subgrade filling material has a better vibration reduction effect than sand bag. In addition, the test data not only have good consistency with the theoretical formulae but also validate the reliability of the empirical formulae.

Abstract Background Undifferentiated embryonal liver sarcoma (UELS) accounts for only 9 to 15% of all malignant liver tumors in children. Typically, UELS occurs in older children and presents as an abdominal mass. Most UELS are unresectable because of the later diagnosis. The outcome of UELS is very poor, with a 5-year overall survival of

Laminaria japonica was extracted with ethanol, and tested for antimicrobial activity against Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. michiganensis (Cmm). This gram-positive bacterium is the agent of a serious tomato disease called bacterial canker. On in vitro antimicrobial assays, L. japonica extracts showed intensive antimicrobial activity to inhibit Cmm. Extracting parameters (time, temperature, and solid/liquid ratio) were investigated and further optimized integratedly with L27(313) orthogonal array design (OAD). Our data implied that the optimum extraction conditions were A3B3C3, that were extracting time 12 h, extracting temperature 80 °C, and solid/liquid ratio 1:30 (g:mL). Extracting temperature was the significant factor affecting extracting condition. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) of L. japonica extracts against Cmm were 2.5 mg/mL and 5 mg/mL. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observation indicated L. japonica extracts caused considerable morphological alterations in Cmm cells, such as protoplast leakage, cell membrane disruption, cell clumped, and cell fragmented. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) level determination and ATPase activity assay revealed that L. japonica extracts did cause significant accumulation in ROS and reduce the intracellular ATPase activity rapidly. Accordingly, these results indicated that L. japonica extracts could open a new promising opportunity for this tomato disease control.

Alisol B 23-acetate (AB23A), a natural triterpenoid, has been reported to exert hepatoprotective and antitumor activities. Aiming to investigate the anti-inflammatory activity, this study examined the effect of AB23A on mast cells and allergic reaction. AB23A inhibited the degranulation of mast cells stimulated by immunoglobulin E/antigen (IgE/Ag), and also decreased the synthesis of leukotriene C4 (LTC4), production of interlukin-6 (IL-6), and expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in a concentration-dependent manner with no significant cytotoxicity in bone marrow-derived mast cells (BMMCs). AB23A inhibited spleen tyrosine kinase (Syk) and the downstream signaling molecules including phospholipase Cγ (PLCγ), serine-threonine protein kinase/inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-B kinase/nuclear factor kappa-B (Akt/IKK/NF-κB), and mitogen-activated protein kinases/cytosolic phospholipase A2 (MAPK/cPLA2). Furthermore, AB23A blocked mobilization of Ca2+. Similar results were obtained in other mast cell lines Rat basophilic leukemia (RBL)-2H3 cells and a human mast cell line (HMC-1). In addition, AB23A attenuated allergic responses in an acute allergy animal model, passive cutaneous anaphylaxis (PCA). Taken together, this study suggests that AB23A inhibits the activation of mast cells and ameliorates allergic reaction, and may become a lead compound for the treatment of mast cell-mediated allergic diseases.
