This study aimed to investigate the effect of foreign direct investment and financial development on the economic growth in the East African Community (EAC) using panel cross-sectional time-series data collected separately from 5 countries during the period from 1996 to 2015. The role of foreign direct investment (FDI) and financial development (FD) on the growth of an economy has been a topic of study for many researchers in several countries. A positive and negative impact of FDI and financial development has been found depending on countries or regions. A cross-sectional time-series regression analysis was used to measure the degree to which foreign direct investment, financial development, and economic growth are related to each other. The study investigated furthermore the relationship between trade openness, inflation and economic growth in the EAC. Using the Johansen cointegration model, we found between variables a long-run relationship. The study also found that all the variables are non-stationary at the level (0) form but have a unit root and are integrated at first difference I(1) by using the Augmented Dickey-Fuller unit root test for examining the stationarity of variables. The results of regression reveal that FDI has a negative effect on economic growth, it is found also that an increase or decrease in FDI does not generate economic growth in the countries of the EAC. Findings expose that economic growth is highly determined by domestic credit to the private sector, that the improvement of financial development can transform and generate economic growth in the countries of the EAC. The present paper aims at investigating the status of the economicdevelopment in Cameroon and female inclusion problems with the use ofannual data on Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and assets of householdsurvey between 2007-2011 and 2012-2016 from National Institute ofStatistic of Cameroon and, the different education statistical data availableon UNESCO and World Development Indicator of 2016. Our investigationparticularly aims to uncover the level of women inclusion in Cameroonwhile putting a special focus on education. The paper finds that due toa global amelioration in female inclusion effort, Cameroon has alsoimproved its condition. It can be concluded that growth in Cameroon hasnot been as inclusive because as growth advanced equity did not. Hence,despite positive developments, women inclusion still faces many problemsin Cameroon which can be confirmed by their very low representation inimportant function of the country. In addition, the number of girls havinga chance for proper education is low in Cameroon. Furthermore, we moveforward in education and we observe that lesser percentages of femalesare presented in each category of education: pre-primary, primary andsecondary.

Zeytin meyvesinin taneleri tüketim amacıyla yağa ya da sofralığa uygun bir şekilde işlenmesi gereklidir. Zeytin, diğer meyve türlerine kıyasla oldukça farklı bir meyvedir. Diğer meyve türlerinde olduğu gibi hasattan hemen sonra tüketilen bir meyve türü değildir. Son yıllarda dünyada sağlıklı ve dengeli beslenme alışkanlıkları yanı sıra uzun yaşama olan ilginin de artması ve hatta bu yönde bir akım oluşması insanların zeytin ve zeytinyağına olan eğilimini ve tüketimlerini arttırmıştır. Üretici ülkeler açısından ekonomik ve sosyal olarak önemli ürünlerden biri olan zeytin ve zeytinyağı aynı zamanda Akdeniz bölgesini simgeleyen bir kültür parçasıdır. Bu çalışma da, hem Türkiye'de hem de dünyada diğer zeytin üreten ülkelerde zeytin meyvesinin hangi şartlarda yetiştirildiği, sofralık ve yağlık olarak ayrıştırılmasının yanı sıra dış ticaretteki payı detaylı olarak incelenecektir. Dış ticaretteki payının incelenmesi amacıyla zeytin ve zeytinyağı üretim rakamları, yurt dışına ihraç rakamları incelenecektir. Ayrıca Türkiye'nin zeytin ve zeytinyağı üretimine, dış ticaretteki payının arttırılması için sağlanan kolaylıklar ve teşviklerin değerlendirilmesi amacıyla anket çalışması hazırlanmıştır. Bu anket çalışması zeytin ve zeytinyağı üreticilerine yönelik sorular olup, çalışmanın sonucunda üreticilerin istek ve sorunlarına vurgu yapılmıştır. Bu bağlamda hükümetten gerekli destek, teşvik ve projeler beklenmektedir. Olive fruit should be handled as pellets or oil consumption to be consumed at the table directly. Bir finansal sistemin amacı, ister geleneksel isterse İslami olsun, finansal kaynakların mobilizasyonu ve bunların farklı yatırım projeleri arasında paylaştırılmasıdır. Bu genel çalışma, Türkiye'de halen aktif olan her iki bankacılık sisteminin ilkelerini, risklerini ve performanslarını ortaya çıkarmak için yapılmıştır. Bu makale, Faizsiz bankaların özelliklerini, geleneksel bankaların kimlerle karşılaştırarak analiz eder. Ayrıca iki sistem arasındaki farklı ürün türlerini de gösterir. Thus Interest-free banks have shown their resistance against the subprime crisis that hit conventional finance. This general study is made to find out the principles, risks and performances of both banking system which are currently active in Turkey. This paper analyses the characteristics of Interest-free banks by comparing them with those of conventional banks. It shows also the different types of products between the two systems. The objective of this research has led us to develop five chapters. The first chapter will focus on overview of banking system. This chapter will allow us to define some concepts and revise the principles governing banks. The second chapter will focus on interest-free banking system. First we will see the principles of Interest-free banks and the kinds of risks we encounter in this system. Then we will present the Interest-free banking financial products. The third and fourth chapter of this thesis will focus on a comparison of the two banking systems in Turkey. Bu tez çalışmasının amacı, Avrupa ve Asya arasındaki ulaştırma, lojistik, koridor ve uzantılarını, Yeni İpek Yolu'nun tekrar hareketlendirilmesi için yapılan projelerle bir bütünsellik içinde değerlendirerek, Azerbaycan'ın sahip olduğu fırsatları meydana çıkarabilmektir. Bununla birlikte Azerbaycan ekonomisinin Yeni İpek Yolu aracılığıyla artacak çeşitliliğinin uluslararası iktisat perspektifinden eleştirisi ve muhtemel sonuçlarını bulgulamak amaçlanmaktadır. Çalışmanın hipotezi uluslararası bağımlılık teorisi üzerinden geliştirilmiştir. Buna göre Azerbaycan devleti Yeni İpek Yolu Projesine dahil olurken Batı ile ilişkilerini de devam ettirecek bir denge politikası yürütmelidir. Böylece uluslararası bağımlılık teorisi bağlamında ortaya çıkacak fırsat ve tehditlere karşı önceden politika üretebilecektir. Bu sonuç Azerbaycan'ın ekonomik çeşitlendirmesini pozitif yönde etkileyeceği gibi uluslararası ekonomik ve siyasi alanda da çatışmadan uzak kalmasına sebep olacaktır. Çalışmada alan çalışması uygulanmamış olup ikincil kaynaklardan elde edilen veriler üzerinden ilgili bulgulara ulaşılmıştır. Çalışmada Azerbaycan başta olmak üzere Çin, ABD, Rusya gibi ülkelerin resmi dış ticaret verileri, ekonomik antlaşmaların etki ve sonuçları incelenmiş ve karşılaştırılmıştır. Sonuç olarak Azerbaycan'ın Doğu ve Batı ilişkilerinde mutlak bir denge siyaseti uygulaması gerektiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. 2008 yılında Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nin önde gelen Lehman Brothers Bankası'nın iflas etmesi ve bunun yanı sıra bankaların düşük faizli konut kredisi vermesi sonucunda Mortgage kredi hacminin aşırı genişlemesi ve konut fiyatlarının fahiş rakamlara ulaşmasına neden olmuştur. Yaşanan bu olaylar sonucunda ABD'de finans sisteminde `likidite sıkışıklığına` neden olmuştur. ABD'de yaşanan bu olumsuz gelişmeler sonucunda yaşanan kriz kısa sürede diğer ülkeleri de etkisi altına alarak Küresel Finansal bir kriz haline dönüşmüştür. As a result of these events, it has caused a `liquidity squeeze` in the US financial system. Other economic short-term countries had to come out of a global financial crisis. In particular, the differentiating public deficits and debts of countries in the European region, as well as the private sector debts, showed the impact of the crisis in the Euro area after 2009. Eurozone countries, which did not face a serious economic crisis until the debt crisis that started with Greece after the global financial crisis, faced an important test with the debt crisis. The crisis in the euro area is not just a public debt crisis. It is also a crisis of banking, growth, and competition. The crisis is based on the interdependence of the countries in the euro area and the unity of economic policies from member states managing at the `supranational` level made the economic management of the countries difficult and caused macroeconomic imbalances in both systemic and crisis countries. Failure to comply with the criteria of the Economic and Monetary Union and insufficiency of these criteria, failure of the countries in the region to ensure the necessary coordination and discipline in economic policies, especially in the fiscal policies, the risk premiums of the countries in the region after the Euro, the dominance of the banks in the region and the financial markets. The fact that government bonds hold an important place in the bank balance sheets, the non-recovery principle in the Treaty and the differences of opinion among the countries of the region in diagnosis and treatment of the crisis is the most important systemic reasons for the emergence and deepening of the crisis.Macroeconomic imbalances in neighboring countries with a debt crisis have common points. After the Euro, interest rates falling until the global financial crisis and increasing liquidity supply increased the domestic demand, resulting in structural current account deficits and financed by borrowing from abroad. At the same time, the increase in domestic demand led to a rapid increase in prices in the real estate sector in Spain and Ireland, followed by the explosion of the housing bubble and the banking crisis.While the structural deterioration in public finance was at the root of the crisis in Greece, the most important problem in Italy and Portugal was low economic growth and competitiveness. Although aid funds and mechanisms to prevent the crisis have been developed within the Union, taking measures late has made it even more difficult for countries to get out of the crisis.After the crisis in the EU, Germany has a serious geopolitical and economic power and assumed the leadership role. Germany argued that the countries in the union should adopt the `Austerity` policy instead of aid funds and mechanisms. Although Germany adopted a different view of the union during the Euro crisis; it aims to protect the integrity of the union and strengthen it economically.Germany is the central country of the Union, and in this context, its dominance over institutions is not overlooked. As a result, Germany demanded the institutionalization of the social market economy and its control within the union. Bu tez Somali'nin eğitim sistemine genel bir bakışa ve Somalili öğrencilerin gelişimi üzerinde Türkiye'nin kalkınma yardımları tarafından oynan role odaklanmaktadır. Aynı zamanda Somali'ye karşı Türk girişimlerini de ele alır, özelliklede Somali'ye yaptıkları yardımı ve tarihsel geçmişini. Türkiye'nin Somali'ye müdahil olmasının temelini inceler ve tasvir eder ve son on yılda ki bu ilişkilerin arkasındaki sebepleri ve yönleri eşit şekilde analiz eder. Bu çalışma Türkiye'nin Somali ile neden çok ilgilendiği sorusunu cevaplamaya çalışır. Diğer bir ifadeyle, AK Party dönemi esnasında yapılan daha fazla yardımı ve ilişkiyi inceler. Aynı zamanda Türkiye ve Somali arasındaki ilişkilerin inşasında yardımların ana enstrüman olduğunu gösterir. Genel olarak, Somali ve Afrika ile Türkiye hiç bu kadar ilişkilerde bulunmamıştı. This thesis is focused on an overview of Somalia's education system and the role played by Turkey's development aid on the progress of Somali students. It also duels on Turkish involvement towards Somalia, especially in terms of its aid to Somalia and their historical background. It portrays and examines the main essence of Turkey's involvement in Somalia, and equally analyses the main reason or aspects behind this relations within last decade. It tries to answer the questions of why Turkey has so much interest in Somalia now. In other words, it explores more the aid and their relation during the AK Party period. It also shows the aid aspects as the key instrument in building relations between Turkey and Somalia. Turkey was never a concern to its relationship with Somalia and Africa as whole. Turkey's paid more attention to its relations with Western countries, and its close neighbouring countries like Balkans Middle East, Central Asia, and the Caucasus. This thesis consists of six main sections. The first is the introduction section. The second section defines some key concepts like; Somalia is a failed state, Somali's economy, education, terrorist group, and foreign intervention in the country. The third section is focused on what is aid, who gives and receives aid, why aid is given, what kind of aid is given? The fourth section is on Somalia's education system since colonial period. The fifth section is also focused on Turkish aid toward Somalia in AK part's period. It also gives an overview of Turkey's relations with Somalia. One of the essential aspects of workforce management is performance appraisal which is not only used to for appraisal purposes solely but, also for compensation, promotion, training determination by the management in current modern organizations. In this paper the researcher analyzed the impact of performance appraisal on employee's motivation in Afghan wireless communications company in Kabul.Afghan wireless telecommunication company which is one first and amongst biggest telecommunication services provider throughout Afghanistan with a large number of employees was selected for the purpose of this case study. Since, it's a quantitative research study a questionnaire containing 25 questions was distributed amongst the employees of Afghan wireless communications company, to which 91 of the employees replied. As a result of the findings of the primary and secondary data the researcher concluded that performance appraisal and motivation has correlation amongst them and it was not only performance appraisal that impacted the motivation of employees in Afghan wireless communications company but Satisfaction with appraisal system, Financial rewards, Decision making authority, and regular training was also among the factors that impacted the motivation. 85

İlaç endüstrisi dünya'da katma değeri en yüksek teknoloji yoğun çalışan sektörlerden birisidir. Sektörün 2017 yılı sonu itibariyle pazar büyüklüğü 1,1 trilyon $'dır. Piyasalarda etkin ve güçlü ilk beş ülke sırasıyla ABD, Çin, Japonya, Almanya ve Fransa'dır. Türkiye ise dünyanın en büyük on altıncı İlaç piyasasıdır. Türkiye ilaç sektörü üretim kıstasları, teknolojisi, yatırım gücü ve üretim kapasitesi ile gelişmiş bir yapı göstermektedir. Ciddi biçimde çeşitlilik, üretim ve ihracat kapasitesine sahiptir. Gittikçe artan Ar-Ge faaliyetleri ise sektörü stratejik öneme haiz kılmaktadır. Ancak, dünyada istenen rekabet gücüne henüz ulaşamamıştır. Türkiye ilaç sektörü çok uluslu güçlü şirketlerin ilgi duydukları bir pazardır. AB ile 1996 yılında imzalanan Gümrük Birliği Anlaşması ilaçta fikri mülkiyet haklarının düzenlenmesinin ana ayağını teşkil etmektedir. Diğer taraftan dışa açılma ve iktisadi bütünleşme hareketleri artan sağlık giderleri ve toplumsal gereksinimleri karşılarken, beraberinde ithal girdiler ve yabancı menşeli ilaçlar dışa bağımlılığı artırmaktadır. Bu durum Türkiye ilaç sektörünün en ciddi paradoksunu oluşturmaktadır. Türkiye'nin ithal ettiği ilaçların dış ticaret açığının neredeyse %7'sine ulaşması durumun ciddiyetini göstermektedir. Devlet tarafından sektör için yatırım teşvikleri ve destekleri uygulanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada yabancı yatırımların Türkiye'deki ilaç sektörü üzerine etkilerinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Tezin birinci bölümünde, dünya ilaç endüstrisine genel bir bakış yapılmış olup; sektörün tarihçesi, AB'de ve Türkiye'deki durumuna değinilmiştir. İkinci bölümde ise, Türkiye ilaç endüstrisi ve ekonomideki yeri üzerinde durulmuştur. Üçüncü bölüm sektörel yatırım teşviklerine desteklerine stratejik, öncelikli, büyük ölçekli, bölgesel ve genel teşvik açılarından bakmıştır. Tezin dördüncü bölümü sektörün rekabet gücü ve sorunları üzerinde dururken, beşinci bölümde AB'ye katılım süreci ve Türkiye ilaç sektörüne etkileri araştırılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, Türkiye ilaç sektöründe yabancı yatırımların ulusal endüstri üzerinde olumlu ve olumsuz etkileri olduğu görülmüştür. Türkiye ilaç sektörünün en önemli sorunu temel araştırmaya dayalı orijinal ürün geliştirmemesidir. AB gibi iktisadi bütünleşme hareketlerinin ürünlerin serbest dolaşımına getirdiği kısıtlamalar ve yüksek Ar-Ge maliyetleri piyasada yabancı uyruklu firmaların güçlü olmalarına yol açmaktadır. The market value of this sector has reached to 1.1 trillion $ by the end of the year 2017. USA China, Japan, Germany and France are the leading five determinants countries in the Pharmaceutical industry, while Turkey is the 16th biggest market in the World. TThe Pharmaceutical sector in Turkey is a well-structured and developed area with its manufacturing criteria in quality, technology, investment power and production capacity, including with a significant capability of diversity in skus, production and export. Accelerating R & D activities in Turkey make the sector much more strategic. However, Turkish Pharmaceutical sector could not gain a strong competition. This makes the Turkish Pharmaceutical market an attractive square for the foreign multinational corporations. The Customs Union Agreement signed with the EU in 1996 is the main pillar arranging intellectual properties in the pharmaceutics. On the other hand, while Turkey's opening economy and economic integrations meets increasing health expenditures and social requirements, it also creates importing and dependency on the foreign originated pharmaceutics. This is the most serious paradox of the Turkish pharmaceuticals sector. The pharmaceutics imported by Turkey is comprised of 7% of the foreign trade deficit in Turkey, and this exactly shows the importance of the situation. The objective of this study was to assess the effects of foreign investments on the Pharmaceutical sector in Turkey. The first part of the thesis mainly focuses on the Pharmaceutical industry in the World, including general history and its situation in both EU and Turkey. Following that, the second part explains the Turkish Pharmaceutical industry and its main role in the economy, whereas the third section oncentrates on the investment incentives with regarding of strategic, priority, big-sized, regional, and major perspectives. The fourth and fifth parts of the study examined competition pwer and issues in the sector, and integration with the EU and its effects on the Turkish Pharmaceutical sector, respectively. In conclusion, we revealed that foreign investments had both positive and negative effects on the Turkish sector. The major issue of the sector in Turkey was found to be that no original molecule could not be developed based on the pure Sciences. Also, the restrictions on the frre movement of the goods across the EU borders and high R & D costs are the driving forces for the foreign coporates occupying the Turkish market against the domestic Pharmaceutical firms. Kristof Colombo'nun yaptığı keşifle ortaya çıkan tartışmaları sonlandırmak için 1494'te İspanya'da bir anlaşma imzalanmıştır. Böylece Avrupa dışında kalan tüm dünya iki deniz gücü olan Portekiz ve İspanya tarafından paylaşılmıştır. Ticaret kapitalizmin sanayi kapitalizmine dönüşmesinde ön ayak olan Transatlantik köle ticareti 15 yüzyılda başlamış ve 19. Yüzyılın ikinci yarısına kadar hız kesmeden devam etmiştir. Tüm dünyayı etkileyen bu ticarete Portekiz, İspanya, Hollanda, Fransa ve İngiltere ev sahipliği yapmıştır. Rakamlar tartışmalı olsa da genel kanı bu süreçte Avrupalılar tarafından Afrika'dan taşınan köle işgücünün 12 milyon ile 60 milyon olduğudur.Bu ticaret esas olarak Avrupa'nın genişleme tarihine ait olup çok geniş ve karmaşık bir çalışma alanını içerir. Ayrıca bu çalışma ekonomik ve toplumsal bir kavram olan ve yaşandığı dönem içerisinde büyük devinimlere neden olan kölelik olgusuna ışık tutmaktadır. Geographical discoveries at the end of the 15th century led to competition between Portugal and the Spanish. An agreement was signed in Spain in 1494 to end the controversy arising from the discovery made by Christopher Colombo. Thus, the whole world outside Europe is shared by two naval powers, Portugal and Spain. Transatlantic slave trade, which led the transformation of trade capitalism into industrial capitalism, began in the 15th century and continued unabated until the second half of the 19th century. Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, France and the UK were the hosts of this trade, which affected the entire world. Although the figures are controversial, the general opinion is that the slave labor imported from Africa by Europeans was between 12 million and 60 million. This trade is mainly from the history of European enlargement and includes a very wide and complex field of study. My aim in this study is to try to place the reasons that led to this trafficking in the context of New World developments, which are already being researched by researchers in a scientific light, to show the effect of human imports from Africa to the continents, to look at how the black man raises capitalism on his shoulders and to search for identity in the west. In addition, this study sheds light on the phenomenon of slavery, which is an economic and social concept and causes great movements in the period it was lived. 147

This study aimed to investigate the effect of foreign direct investment and financial development on economic growth in the East African Community (EAC) using panel cross-sectional time-series data collected separately from 5 countries during the period from 1996 to 2015. The role of foreign direct investment(FDI) and financial development (FD) on the growth of an economy has been a topic of study for many researchers in several countries. A positive and negative impact of FDI and financial development has been found depending on countries or regions. A cross-sectional time-series regression analysis was used to measure the degree to which foreign direct investment, financial development, and economic growth are related to each other. The study investigated furthermore the relationship between trade openness, inflation and economic growth in the EAC. Using the Johansen cointegration model, we found between variables a long-run relationship. The study also found that all the variables are non-stationary at the level (0) form but have a unit root and are integrated at first difference I(1) by using the Augmented Dickey-Fuller unit root test for examining the stationarity of variables. The results of regression reveal that FDI has a negative effect on economic growth, it is found also that an increase or decrease in FDI doesn't generate economic growth in the countries of the EAC. Findings expose that economic growth is highly determined by domestic credit to the private sector, that the improvement of financial development can transform and generate economic growth in the countries of the EAC. The thesis finally revealed a positive and insignificant effect of trade openness on economic development in the countries of the EAC. Bu çalışma, enerji güvenliğinin, ulusal güvenliğin sürdürülmesi perspektifinde dünyadaki tüm ülkeler için en önemli hedeflerden biri olduğunu göstermektedir. Özellikle sanayileşmiş ülkelerde, enerji bir ulusal güvenlik meselesi olup, ekonominin ve hayatın tüm alanlarında ana temel olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Devletlerin enerji güvenliğinin sağlanması için politik ve askeri vesileler kullanması anormal bir davranış değildir. ABD'nin 2001 Afganistan savaşında, Hazar Denizi'ndeki petrol ve gaz rezervlerine yakın bir ABD üssü kurulmuştur. Bir süre sonra, ABD, Irak'ın petrol rezervlerini kontrol etmeye başlamıştır. Bu nedenlerle, ABD Ortadoğu'yu ve dünyada tek kutup olarak kalması için diğer küresel enerji rezervlerini kontrol edebilmektedir. Diğer taraftan, AB ülkeleri, Hazar bölgesindeki petrol ve doğal gaz rezervlerine erişim yoluyla Avrupa enerji piyasasında Rus tekelini sonlandırmaya çalışmaktadırlar. 2008 yılında, AB Hazar Deniz'den başlayarak Türkiyeden geçen boru hattını kurmaya çalışırken, Rusya enerji güvenliğini korumak için Gürcistan'a savaş ilan edip Kırımı işgal etmiştir. According to this study, provision of energy security and maintaining national security are one of the most important goals for countries around the world. Especially in industrialized countries, energy is a matter of national security, as energy is the main basis in economy and all aspects of life. Therefore, it is not unusual for states to use political and military means to ensure its energy security. Establishing a US base near to oil and gas reserves in the Caspian Sea in 2001 US war in Afghanistan was one of the undeclared targets of this war. After a while, US was trying to control Iraq's oil reserves through its war on Iraq. For these reasons, the US was able to control Middle East and still trying to control other global energy reserves to remain dominant country in the world. Likewise, those who control energy sources can dominate the world economy. On the other hand, EU countries were trying to end the Russian monopoly on European energy market by accessing oil and natural gas reserves in the Caspian region. When EU, was trying to build its pipeline from Caspian Sea via Turkey, in 2008, Russia declared the war on Georgia as it was concerned about its energy security and invaded the Crimea in Ukraine for the same reason. Lately Russia went to a military intervention in Syria to prevent the pipeline supply from Qatar and Iran to the European Union. Thus, both the US and Russia have entered into a competition to protect its pipelines and energy projects in Syria, and this shows that the intention to intervene in Syria was not only for political reasons. 141

Özellikle doksanlı yıllardan sonra çeşitli ülkelerde yaşanan şirket krizleri ve 2008'deki küresel ekonomik kriz, yöneticilerin aldığı büyük risklerin ve yanlış yönetimlerinin sorgulanmasına neden olmuştur. Bu durum, kurumsal yönetim kavramının önemini ve gerekliliğini ortaya çıkarmıştır. Birçok ülke, şirketlerin adil, sorumlu, hesap verebilir ve şeffaf yönetilmelerini sağlamak için çeşitli düzenlemeleri hayata geçirmiştir. Kurumsal yönetimin dört temel ilkesinden birisi olan şeffaflık, sadece finansal bilgilerin mali yılın sonunda şirket hissedarlarına açıklanmasının çok ötesinde yeni anlamlar kazanmıştır.Bu çalışmanın amacı, Borsa İstanbul'da işlem gören halka açık şirketlerin şeffaflık seviyelerinin şirket kârlılık ve piyasa değeri üzerinde etkili olup olmadığını ortaya koymaktır. Bu kapsamda, öncelikle şeffaflık seviyelerinin sayısal olarak ifade edilebilmesi için bir şeffaflık endeksi oluşturulmuştur. Çalışmada çeşitli ülkelerdeki araştırmalarda kullanılmış ve güvenilirliği test edilmiş Standard & Poor's (S&P) tarafından geliştirilen şeffaflık ve kamuyu aydınlatma endeksi metodolojisi tercih edilmiştir. Şirket kârlılığı, aktif kârlılık (ROA) ile ve piyasa değeri ise Tobin's Q ve piyasa değeri / defter değeri oranları ile temsil edilmektedir. Araştırmanın kapsamını Borsa İstanbul'da 2010-2014 yılları arasında sürekli işlem gören ve finans sektörü dışında kalan halka açık şirketler oluşturmaktadır. Bu araştırmada herhangi bir örneklem seçimi yapılmamış, verilerinde süreklilik olan araştırma kapsamındaki tüm şirketler incelenmiştir. Araştırmada 194 halka açık şirkete ait 5 yıllık veri ile dengeli panel veri seti oluşturulmuştur. Şeffaflık ile finansal oranlar arasındaki ilişki panel veri regresyon yöntemi ile araştırılmış, yapılan testler sonucunda kurulan tüm modellerde sabit etkiler modelinin kullanılması gerektiğine karar verilmiştir.Araştırma sonuçlarına göre toplam şeffaflık endeksi ile Tobin's Q ve aktif kârlılık arasında arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olan bir ilişki saptanamamıştır. Toplam şeffaflık endeksi ile piyasa değeri / defter değeri oranında ise anlamlı fakat negatif bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmada oluşturulan şeffaflık alt endekslerinin finansal oranlara etkisi de ayrıca incelenmiştir. Şeffaflık alt endeksleri ile kurulan modellerin hiç birinde şeffaflığın artışının piyasa değeri/defter değerini de arttıracağı bulgusu elde edilememiştir. Mülkiyet ve yatırımcı ilişkileri endeksi ile piyasa değeri / defter değeri arasında anlamlı bir ilişki saptanamamış, buna karşın finansal şeffaflık ve kamuyu aydınlatma endeksi ve yönetim kurulu şeffaflık endeksi ile piyasa değeri/ defter değeri arasında ise anlamlı ve negatif bir ilişki elde edilmiştir. The corporate crises experienced in various countries particularly after the 90s and the global economic crisis of 2008 have led the major risks taken by executives and faulty managements to be questioned. This revealed the significance and necessity of the concept of corporate governance. Numerous countries have enacted various regulations to ensure fair, accountable and transparent management of corporations. Transparency, as one of the four fundamental principles of corporate governance, has gained new meaning far beyond mere disclosure of financial information to shareholders at the end of the fiscal year.The aim of this study is to reveal whether the transparency level of publicly listed corporations on Borsa Istanbul influence company profitability and market value. In this context, a transparency index has first been established for the numeric expression of transparency levels. The study has utilized research from various countries and opted for the transparency and public disclosure index methodology developed by Standard & Poor's (S&P) and tested for reliability. Profitability is represented by return on assets (ROA) and market value by Tobin's Q and market value / book value ratios. The scope of the study comprises the non-financial, publicly traded corporations listed continuously between 2010 and 2014 in Borsa Istanbul. The study has not selected a specific sample group but examined all corporations with data continuity within the scope. The study created balanced panel data set using the 5-year data from 194 publicly traded corporations. The relationship between transparency and financial ratios has been studied using the panel data regression method, and among all models established through tests, the fixed effects model has been deemed appropriate for use.The results of the study showed no statistically meaningful relationship between total transparency index and Tobin's Q and return on assets, while a negative relationship has been reported between the total transparency index and the market to book value ratio. The effect of transparency sub-indexes established in the study on financial ratios has also been examined. None of the models established using transparency sub-indexes revealed any finding to indicate that an increase in transparency would increase the market to book value. No meaningful relationship has been found between ownership and investor relations index and market value/book value, although a meaningful an negative correlations has been attained between financial transparency and public disclosure index and management board transparency index and market to book value. 360

Mevcut tezde Kamerun'daki ekonomik gelişmenin durumu ve kadın katılımı problemlerinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Durumu tanımlamak ve sorunlu alanları belirlemek için Kamerun Ulusal İstatistik Enstitüsü'nü kullanıyoruz. Araştırmamız özellikle Kamerun'da kadın katılımının düzeyini ortaya çıkarmayı ve eğitime özel bir odaklanmayı amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmada, 2007-2011 ve 2012-2016 dönemleri arasındaki iki yıllık dönemler ve hanehalkı araştırmalarının gayri safi yurtiçi hasılası (GSYİH) verileri ve UNESCO ve 2016 Dünya Kalkınma Göstergesi'nde bulunan farklı eğitim istatistik verileri kullanılmıştır. Bu makale, Kamerun'da kadın katılımındaki küresel bir iyileşme nedeniyle de böyle bir değişiklikten yararlandığını ortaya koyuyor. Bu olumlu değişim, istihdam üzerindeki yoğunlaşma eğrisinden tespit edilebilir. The current thesis aims to investigate the status of the economic development in Cameroon and female inclusion problems. We use National Institute of Statistic of Cameroon to describe the situation and determine problematic areas. Our investigation particularly aims to uncover the level of women inclusion in Cameroon while putting a special focus on education. The study makes use of annual data on Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and assets of household survey between two time periods of 2007-2011 and 2012-2016 and the different education statistical data available on UNESCO and World Development Indicator of 2016. The paper finds that due to a global amelioration in female inclusion effort Cameroon also benefitted from such change. This positive change can be detected from the concentration curve on employment. Unfortunately, the concentration curve has been sharper over the years, which can be interpreted as increased efficiency without equity. So, it can be concluded that growth in Cameroon has not been as inclusive because as growth advanced equity did not. Hence, despite positive developments, women inclusion still faces many problems in Cameroon which can be confirmed by their very low representation in important function of the country. In addition, the number of girls having a chance for proper education is low in Cameroon. Further we move forward in education, we observe that lesser percentages of females presented in each category of education: pre-primary, primary and secondary. In order to deal with this state of affairs Cameroon must focus on encouraging females and create policies to facilitate their insertion. Since female inclusion plays an important role in the workforce and make the economic growth sustainable and durable, such policies are required. For the inclusiveness, the government should be more concerned on formulating policies that will award the betterment of growth equally and reduce inequality. The government should put a system that will guaranty universal primary and secondary education, affordable vocational training, and easy access to higher education for both sexes; and also, promote education base on gender equality and women's rights. The state has to consider female needs in their planning and budgeting. Cameroon has to adopt policies encouraging opportunity for everyone without considering background of the attendees. Government should promote policies that encourage entrepreneurship and job creation to offer decent work for all women, as well as men. Government should promote social protection and gender-sensitive economic policies. 75

2007 yılında ABD'de konut sektöründe oluşan kriz, tüm Avrupa'ya yayılarak evrensel boyuta ulaşmıştır. Avrupa'da özellikle Yunanistan ve çevre ülkelerini etkisi altına almış, krize ani tepki veremeyen çevre ülkeleri krizden oldukça olumsuz etkilenmişlerdir. Krizle beraber yüksek borçlar oluşmuş, işsizlik, enflasyon sorunları baş göstermiş ve cari denge olumsuz etkilenmiştir. Kriz Yunanistan'da en çok GSYH oranla bütçe açığının ve borçların en yüksek olduğu zamanlarda hissedilmiştir. AB, IMF ve AMB aralarında grup oluşturarak Yunanistan için kurtarma paketlerine onay vermişlerdir. In this thesis study, it has been examined to realize China's `Go Global` strategy as a result of the transformation of China's economy with a start-up of FDI flows after cultural revolution and its structural transformation with political economy in the 21st century. Due to interdependence and economic cooperation between West and East regarding to location advantages and capital accumulation, China became an inevitable global player. Because of the Asian Financial Crisis in 1997, China and other neighbour countries signed a free trade agreement to create a solid financial system. The economic crisis in 2008 caused the western capital to move on Asian Emerging Markets. As a consequence China caught the opportunity to implement broader policies in the region and integrated its capital accumulation to global financial sector. As a continuation of China's global policies, president Xi Jinping announced Silk Road Economic Belt in 2013 and Maritime Silk Road in 2014 both called `One Belt One Road` symbolizing The Eagle of East. The effectiveness of China's FDI flows and economic integration has been studied within One Belt One Road Project building a bridge between West and East through globalization from a theoretical perspective. 182

İnşaat sektörü genel yapısı itibariyle birçok sektörle bağlantılı bir şekilde çalışmaktadır. Bu durum ise piyasada hareketlilik ortamı oluşturmaktadır. Özetlemek gerekirse inşaat sektöründe meydana gelen büyüme, artış, hareketlilik otomatik olarak ülke ekonomisini etkilemektedir. Bunun nedeni ise inşaat sektörü ilk olarak işsizliğe etki etmekte, ikincil olarak bağlantılı olduğu sanayi kollarına etki etmektedir. İnşaat sektörünün Türkiye ekonomisi üzerindeki etkisini şu şekilde özetlemek mümkündür. Yapımı planlanan ve/veya yapımına başlanan bir hizmet binasının, ilk olarak inşaat anında istihdama etkisi söz konusudur. Ancak inşaat yapımı sırasında sadece insan gücü kullanılmadığı için, beton, tuğla, çimento, demir vb. saymakla bitiremeyeceğimiz kadar çok malzemelerde kullanıldığından dolayı bu malzemelerin üretildiği sanayiye de katkı sağlanmaktadır. Öte yandan, yapılan bir hizmet binasında, binanın inşaatı bittikten ve faaliyete başladıktan sonra tekrar bir istihdam gerçekleşmektedir. Bu nedenle gerçekleştirilen kamusal hizmet veren binaların inşaatları ekonomik açıdan ülkeleri daha da olumlu etkilemektedir.Bu çalışmada, yaşanan 2008 küresel mali krizi detaylı bir şekilde incelenerek, Türkiye üzerindeki etkisi ve alınan tedbirlerin yanı sıra bu krizin sonuçları değerlendirilecektir. Tüm bunlara ek olarak 2008 Küresel mali krizinin sonucunda Türkiye'deki inşaat sektörünün nasıl etkilendiği incelenecektir. Bu bağlamda TOPSIS yöntemi kullanılarak ele alınan konut sektöründeki verimliliğin yanı sıra 2008 krizinin sonucunda Türkiye'de konut sektörünün artan bir şekilde finansallaştığını, banka- finansın konut sektörüne yoğunlaşmasının diğer sektörleri ne yönde etkilediği değerlendirilmiştir. TOPSIS yöntemi kullanılarak 1980-2015 döneminde Türkiye Ekonomisinin nasıl bir performans sergilediğine bakılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda Türkiye ekonomisi için seçilen ekonomik değişkenler bazında en iyi performansın sergilendiği yıl 2004 yılı olarak bulunmuştur. En kötü performansın sergilendiği yıl olarak da 1999 yılı bulunmuştur. The construction sector works in conjunction with many sectors due to its general structure. In this context , it has been assessed that the efficiency of the housing sector, which is taken up by using the TOPSIS methodology, that the housing sector in Turkey is financed on an increasing affects other sectors. Using the TOPSIS method, we can see how the Turkish Economy performed in the 1980-2015 period. As a result of the analysis, the best performance of the selected economic variables for the Turkish economy was found in 2004 year.
