The proactive removal of condensed clips from TikTok decreased demand for corresponding full-length originals by 3%, revealing their positive impact to TV industry. Short-form video-sharing platforms have seen phenomenal growth in recent years. One type of video that often goes viral on such platforms is the condensed clips derived from existing full-length video content. The traditional entertainment industry has strongly criticized this new form of user-generated derivative content owing to the potential for infringement on copyright owners' exclusive rights and de facto theft of viewers from original works. However, little is known of the actual impact of condensed clips on the demand for corresponding original works. In this study, we seek to identify such impact with the help of an exogenous boycott event in April 2021 that forced Chinese TikTok to remove condensed clips more proactively. Our results indicate that their removal had reduced the demand for corresponding full-length original works on a major video streaming platform by approximately 3%. In other words, condensed clips serve as friends, rather than foes, of streaming services. Further analyses suggested that positive spillover effects resulted from the fact that condensed clips could enhance the visibility of original works, and such effects were stronger if the original work was of higher quality or had a more fascinating storyline. Introduction: Left-behind adolescents are vulnerable to depressive symptoms under the context of parent-adolescent separation. However, limited knowledge is available regarding left-behind adolescents' depression trajectory and the protective resources against it. The aim of this longitudinal study was to investigate the depression trajectory and its association with parent-adolescent separation (left-behind status, age of separation and duration of separation) and parent-adolescent cohesion (father-adolescent cohesion, mother-adolescent cohesion) among left-behind adolescents., Methods: The participants were 1,107 left-behind adolescents (M age  = 13.23 ± 0.86 years at T1; 45.17% girls; 38.48% both-parent migrant adolescents, 61.52% father-only migrant adolescents) from two rural areas of Shandong Province in China, who were participated in assessment at three time points with 6 months apart from November 2014 to November 2015., Results: The results indicated that the trajectory of left-behind adolescents' depression symptoms showed a decreasing trend. Both-parent migrant adolescents reported a higher initial level of depressive symptoms than father-only migrant adolescents. Duration of separation positively predicted the initial level of left-behind adolescents' depressive symptoms. Mother-adolescent cohesion negatively predicted the initial level and positively predicted the change rate of left-behind adolescents' depressive symptoms. Moreover, mother-adolescent and father-adolescent cohesion buffered the negative effect of parent-adolescent separation on the initial level of left-behind adolescents' depressive symptoms., Conclusions: These findings highlight the protective role of parent-adolescent cohesion for left-behind adolescents, having important implications for interventions targeted toward mitigating the detrimental influence of parent-adolescent separation on left-behind adolescents' depression trajectory., (© 2024 Foundation for Professionals in Services to Adolescents.)

Introduction: Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) seriously affects the quality of life, endocrine function, and fertility of women of childbearing age. Currently, hormone replacement therapy for POI has some limitations, either with low efficacies or high side effects. Bushen Huoxue (BSHX) plays an important role in alleviating clinical symptoms and improving health status of POI patients. This placebo-controlled, randomized, double-blind, and multicenter clinical trial protocol aims to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of BSHX in women with POI.Methods and Design: We plan to recruit 150 women with POI from four participating hospitals in China. Participants will be randomized in a 1:1 to receive oral BSHX or BSHX placebo. All participants will be treated for 3 months and will be followed up for another 3 month. The primary outcome is questionnaire scores based on the changes in the total symptoms, which is the Chinese version of the Menopause-Specific Quality of Life (CMS) (Nie G, Yang H, Liu J, Zhao C, Wang X, Menopause 24(5):546-554, 2017). CMS will be measured before the intervention, at 3 months and 6 months after randomization for all participants. The other measurements include serum sex hormone levels, anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) levels, ovarian peak systolic velocity (PSV; cm/s), and antral follicle count (AFC). In this study, the regulatory effects of traditional Chinese medicine on hormones were evaluated by the changes of serum sex hormone levels, which include serum estradiol (E2), luteinizing hormone (LH), and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). These indicators will be measured before intervention and at 3 months after randomization.Ethics and Dissemination: This study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of Jiangsu Province Hospital on Integration of Chinese and Western Medicine (2019LWKY014). Antibiotic overprescription in China has long been considered a problem on the supply side, linked to the financial incentives of physicians. Based on the conversation analysis of 187 video-recorded naturally occurring medical consultations in Chinese paediatric primary care settings, this study finds that the driving force behind the problem of antibiotic overprescription in China has changed. Physicians use a low-authority communication style to recommend treatment, displaying a low level of medical authority and a willingness to accommodate caregivers' preferences in antibiotic prescribing decisions. The problem is now attributed to physician-caregiver interaction, doctor-patient relationship and the antibiotic-saturated prescribing culture. Practice implications involve deepening the understanding of the evolving nature of the antibiotic overprescription problem in China, building trust between physicians and patients/caregivers in order to facilitate the physicians' role as the gatekeeper of antibiotics and providing training programmes to help physicians develop effective communication skills., (© 2023 Foundation for the Sociology of Health & Illness.)

An association between green space exposure and preterm birth has been reported. However, evidence on the joint effects of air pollutant and green space exposure on preterm birth from nationwide research is limited in China. Based on a nationwide cohort, this study aims to explore the effect of green space exposure on preterm birth and analyze the joint effects of green space and air pollutant. Logistic regression models were developed to analyze the effects of green space exposure, and interaction effects were evaluated by adding interaction terms between green space and air pollutants. From 2013 to 2019, this study included 2,294,188 records of newborn births, of which 82,921 were preterm births. The results show that for buffer zones with 250 m, 500 m, 1000 m, and 1500 m, every 0.1 unit increase in NDVI exposure was associated with a decrease in the risk of preterm birth by 5.5% (95% CI: 4.6-6.4%), 5.8% (95% CI: 4.9-6.6%), 6.1% (95% CI: 5.3-7.0%), and 5.6% (95% CI: 4.7-6.5%), respectively. Under high-level exposure to air pollutants, high-level NDVI exposure was more strongly negatively correlated with preterm birth than low-level NDVI exposure. High-level green space exposure might mitigate the adverse effect of air pollutants on preterm birth by promoting physical activity, reducing stress, and adsorbing pollutants. Further investigation is needed to explore how green space and air pollution interact and affect preterm birth, in order to improve risk management and provide a reference for newborn health., (© 2024. Facing the increasingly stringent constraints of resources and the environment, the green transformation of enterprises is imperative. This study selects A-share listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2014 to 2021 as samples, using the difference-in-differences method to examine the impact of the environmental protection tax reform (EPTR) on the green transformation of enterprises. The results indicate that the EPTR can promote the green transformation of enterprises, achieving this through three channels: raising the cost of pollution, strengthening the rigidity of law enforcement, and breaking the collusion between the government and enterprises. Notably, this promotional effect is more significant in non-state-owned enterprises, companies in the eastern and western regions, firms with low financing constraints, and those with high media attention. Further analysis shows that the EPTR has a positive impact on the green total factor productivity (GTFP) of enterprises, which implies that enterprises are not only proactively pushing for a green transformation at the strategic level but also taking practical actions. This study responds to the problem of the greening of tax system to promote the green development of enterprises from two aspects of enterprise strategic implementation and productivity and explores the impact mechanism from the perspective of institutional logic. It enriches the research on the effectiveness of the EPTR at the micro-level and broadens the research perspective on the impact mechanisms of environmental regulation. Nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) are the two most important macronutrients supporting forest growth. Unprecedented urbanization has created growing areas of urban forests that provide key ecosystem services for city dwellers. However, the large-scale patterns of soil N and P content remain poorly understood in urban forests. Based on a systematic soil survey in urban forests from nine large cities across eastern China, we examined the spatial patterns and key drivers of topsoil (0-20 cm) total N content, total P content, and N:P ratio. Topsoil total N content was found to change significantly with latitude in the form of an inverted parabolic curve, while total P content showed an opposite latitudinal pattern. Variance partition analysis indicated that regional-scale patterns of topsoil total N and P contents were dominated by climatic drivers and partially regulated by time and pedogenic drivers. Conditional regression analyses showed a significant increase in topsoil total N content with lower mean annual temperature (MAT) and higher mean annual precipitation (MAP), while topsoil total P content decreased significantly with higher MAP. Topsoil total N content also increased significantly with the age of urban park and varied with pre-urban soil type, while no such effects were found for topsoil total P content. Moreover, topsoil N:P ratio showed a latitudinal pattern similar to that of topsoil total N content and also increased significantly with lower MAT and higher MAP. Assessing groundwater geochemical formation processes and pollution circumstances is significant for sustainable watershed management. In the present study, 58 shallow groundwater samples were taken from the Dongwen River Basin (DRB) to comprehensively assess the hydrochemical sources, groundwater quality status, and potential risks of NO 3 - to human health. Based on the Box and Whisker plot, the cation's concentration followed the order of Ca 2+  > Mg 2+  > Na +  > K + , while anions' mean levels were HCO 3 -  > SO 4 2-  > NO 3 - , with soil nitrogen input and manure/sewage inputs also potential sources. However, geogenic processes (e.g., carbonates and evaporite dissolution/precipitation) controlled other ion compositions in the study area. The groundwater samples with higher NO - . The NO 3 - level in groundwater samples fluctuated between 4.2 and 301.3 mg/L, with 67.2% of samples beyond the World Health Organization (WHO) criteria (50 mg/L) for drinking. The Piper diagram indicated the hydrochemical type of groundwater and surface water were characterized as Ca·Mg-HCO 3 type. Combining ionic ratio analysis with principal component analysis (PCA) results, agricultural activities contributed a significant effect on groundwater NO 3 - , with soil nitrogen input and manure/sewage inputs also potential sources. However, geogenic processes (e.g., carbonates and evaporite dissolution/precipitation) controlled other ion compositions in the study area. The groundwater samples with higher NO 3 - values were mainly found in river valley regions with intense anthropogenic activities. The entropy weight water quality index (EWQI) model identified that the groundwater quality rank ranged from excellent (70.7%) and good (25.9%) to medium (3.4%). However, the hazard quotient (HQ) used in the human health risk assessment (HHRA) model showed that above 91.38% of groundwater samples have a NO 3 - non-carcinogenic health risk for infants, 84.48% for children, 82.76% for females, and 72.41% for males. Plant viruses are a group of intracellular pathogens that persistently threaten global food security. Significant advances in plant virology have been achieved by Chinese scientists over the last 20 years, including basic research and technologies for preventing and controlling plant viral diseases. Here, we review these milestones and advances, including the identification of new crop-infecting viruses, dissection of pathogenic mechanisms of multiple viruses, examination of multilayered interactions among viruses, their host plants, and virus-transmitting arthropod vectors, and in-depth interrogation of plant-encoded resistance and susceptibility determinants. Notably, various plant virus-based vectors have also been successfully developed for gene function studies and target gene expression in plants. Background: This study aimed to examine attentional bias (AB) for sad and social rejection words in Chinese left-behind children (LBC) with depression., Method: We investigated both stimulus specificity and components of AB in different groups using a cross-sectional design. Data were drawn from a school assessment of depression and anxiety, from which we selected LBC with depression (n = 40), LBC without depression (n = 33), a control group with depression (n = 31), and a control group without depression (n = 37). AB was measured with a dot-probe task covering two stimulus types (sad and rejection)., Results: The analysis of AB scores revealed a significant three-way interaction (LBC × depression × word type), F(1, 137) = 4.00, p = 0.047, η2 = 0.028, with depressed non-LBC exhibiting a significant depression × word type interaction, F(1, 66) = 4.67, p = 0.034, η2 = 0.066, while the depression × word type interaction was not significant in LBC, F(1, 71) = 0.18, p = 0.675, η2 = 0.002. Depressed children living with their parents showed AB towards sad words but not rejection words, while depressed LBC showed greater AB towards both rejection and sad words., Conclusions: The findings provide evidence that an AB towards sad information is critically involved in the depressed LBC. Compared with non-LBC depressed individuals, an AB for rejection may be involved as a risk factor in the LBC. Integrating the theory of workplace deviance with person–environment fit theory, we propose a two‐pathway model to explain why and how employees who feel overqualified engage in time theft behavior. Specifically, we anticipate that feeling overqualified will negatively influence focal employees' experienced authority fairness and erode their work meaningfulness, which in turn will lead to increased time theft behavior. Further, we argue that voice endorsement serves as a key boundary condition mitigating the negative effects of perceived overqualification. We conducted two multi‐waved and multi‐sourced field studies to test our proposed hypotheses. Study 1 (247 employees and 47 supervisors) revealed that perceived overqualification is associated with time theft behavior through the mediators of experienced authority fairness and meaningfulness. Study 2 (405 employees and 73 supervisors) replicated the findings of Study 1 and tested our full model. We discuss the theoretical and practical implications of our findings. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the outcomes of adapted Parenting for Lifelong Health for Young Children to prevent child maltreatment in the Mainland China. Methods: A pre–post-follow-up study was designed and 54 Chinese parents received the eight-session online parenting intervention between February 4 and March 25, 2023. Results: Forty-one participants (75.9%) completed post-assessment and 36 (66.7%) completed 3-month follow-up assessment. Participants reported reduced child maltreatment, especially in emotional abuse and corporal punishment after the intervention, and the effect was maintained in 3-month follow-up. Improved positive parenting behaviors and decreased child externalizing behaviors were also observed for pre-, post-, and 3-month follow-up assessments. However, there were no significant changes in parental stress, parent–child relationship, parental depressive symptoms, and social support. Conclusions: The online Parenting for Lifelong Health for Young Children program for Chinese parents has shown promise in reducing child maltreatment, improving positive parenting, and decreasing children's problem behaviors, although randomized controlled trials are needed in future studies. High-quality development (HQD) has been listed as the first and foremost task in building a modern socialist country in all respects and also an overarching issue of China's economic and social development in the new era. To achieve economic HQD, a key approach lies in integrating energy development with poverty alleviation and fully leveraging the foundational role of energy infrastructure and supply services in reducing poverty. Using the provincial panel data from 2007 to 2017, this paper analyzes the impact of energy poverty alleviation on economic HQD from multiple dimensions in an empirical way and draws the following conclusions: first, energy poverty alleviation drives the economic growth of China's eastern region and western region, but it cannot effectively promote the synchronous economic growth of the central region, thereby resulting in a greater imbalance in regional development; second, energy poverty alleviation has an effect on reducing the urban–rural income inequality, and such an effect is more significant in the western region; and finally, energy poverty alleviation has a significant effect on promoting economic HQD, and the effect is more significant in the central region and the western region. Furthermore, the transmission mechanism of energy poverty alleviation driving HQD is tested. Vegetation dynamics are critical to the terrestrial carbon and water cycle, with China recognized as one of the largest contributors to global greening due to significant variations in forest coverage. However, distinguishing the effects of vegetation changes from those of climate factors on vegetation productivity remains challenging. This study conducted a comprehensive analysis of vegetation productivity in Northwest China over the past two decades, focusing on the spatiotemporal patterns and drivers of gross primary production (GPP) within ecological restoration areas. Using trend analysis and ridge regression models, we assessed the relative contributions of climate factors and vegetation coverage changes to GPP dynamics. The results revealed a significant increase in both the GPP and vegetation coverage in Northern China from 2001 to 2020, with GPP rising by 6.7 g C m−2 yr−1 and forest coverage increasing by 0.08% per year. A strong positive correlation (r = 0.9) was observed between vegetation coverage changes and GPP. The increase in GPP was driven by both climate factors and changes in forest coverage, with climate factors contributing 61.0% and vegetation coverage changes contributing 39.0%. Among the climate factors, radiation, temperature, and precipitation contributed 15.4%, 6.4%, and 39.2%, respectively. The study highlights the critical role of ecological restoration efforts, particular in regions like the Less Plateau and Inner Mongolian Plateau, in enhancing vegetation productivity. Aim: This study examines the interrelationship between medical staff's sense of medical care policy alienation (SPA) and their subjective career success and the potential mediating roles of occupational calling (OC) and job satisfaction. Background: Medical staff's pivotal role in medical care policy implementation outcomes underscores their approach to career success, which affects work efficiency, and willingness to implement medical care policy. Effective policy is anticipated to be positively and rationally implemented, fostering favorable perceptions and career success among policy executors such as medical staff. However, limited research examines the relationship between career outcomes and medical staff′s SPA. Methods: A cross‐sectional study conducted from May to June 2023 collected data from 521 medical staff in 14 hospitals in northern, western, and southern China through questionnaire surveys. The questionnaire measured their SPA, OC, job satisfaction, and career success. A chain multiple mediation model was constructed to explore SPA's relationship with medical staff's OC and job satisfaction, resulting in less career success, and whether work overload moderated this relationship. Results: Medical staff's SPA was negatively related to career success via a chain mediation mechanism involving OC and job satisfaction. Work overload did not moderate SPA's negative association with OC; however, it moderated its association with job satisfaction. High workload intensified SPA's association with job satisfaction, increasing the mediating effect on career success compared to those with lower workloads. Conclusion: Medical staff's SPA was significantly negatively related to career success, reflected in a weakened OC, and decreased job satisfaction. Work overload somewhat moderated the relationship between SPA and job satisfaction. Policymakers and medical stakeholders should emphasize improved communication between medical institutions and staff, which is essential for crafting and disseminating medical care policies. The Spawning ground is a crucial habitat for fish, and the physical characteristics of the habitat are important for fish life history. In this paper, Large-Scale Particle Image Velocimetry (LSPIV) was used to measure the surface flow field and the substrate (particle size and mineral composition) in the spawning ground of Schizothorax grahami. Based on the literature and consideration of experimental feasibility, two spawning grounds in the source of the Chishui River were selected--Erlongqiangbao (located in the mainstream) and Bamaoba (located in the tributary), two and three cross sections of each river section were analyzed respectively. The results show that Erlongqiangbao first flows in the direction of "southeast-northwest" and then "southwest--northeast" after crossing the bridge; the maximum velocity of the reach is 3.374m/s. The size of the substrate is mainly less than 1mm in the upstream section of Erlongqiangbao, both 25-50mm in the middle and downstream, and the substrate type mainly is quartz and calcite; Gushangtian flows in the direction of "southwest-northeast," the maximum velocity of the reach is 1.537m/s, the size of the substrate is mainly greater than 50mm in the upstream, and 25-50mm in the middle and downstream, the substrate type mainly is quartz, calcite, and dolomite. The mineral compositions of the two spawning sites were analyzed by principal component analysis. Quartz and anorthose are more than 1 in composite scores, respectively ranked first and second, indicating that they play a dominant role in the mineral composition. Objectives: Osteoporosis is widely regarded as a typical aged-related disease caused by impaired bone remodeling. This research was designed to explore the protective effects of electroacupuncture (EA) on senile osteoporosis in a rat model and investigate the underlying mechanisms. Methods: Three-month-old rats were randomly selected as the youth group, and 24-month-old rats were randomly assigned to the elderly and EA groups. Rats in the EA group received 30 min of EA at bilateral SP10, ST36, K13 and GB34 daily, 5 days a week for 8 weeks. Bone mineral density (BMD), microstructure of the bone tissue, bone turnover biomarkers and expression level of autophagy-related proteins were detected. Results: Compared with the elderly group, EA treatment significantly increased BMD of the femur and ameliorated the microstructure. EA treatment increased trabecular bone volume ratio (= bone volume / total volume [BV/TV]) and trabecular number (Tb.N) and decreased trabecular separation (Tb.Sp) in senile osteoporosis rats. Compared with the elderly group, the serum N-terminal telopeptide of type I collagen (NTX1) level in the EA group was lower, and the serum procollagen type I N-terminal propeptide (PINP) concentration was higher. In addition, the expression of Beclin 1, microtubule-associated protein I light chain 3 (LC3B) and P62 was inhibited in the senile osteoporosis rats after EA treatment. Conclusions: EA can effectively alleviate aging-related bone loss and improve the microstructure of bone tissue in senile osteoporosis rats, and the regulation of autophagy might be one of the important mechanisms. The evaluation of ecological environment quality (EEQ) is an important method to measure the quality of ecosystem services. Therefore, the EEQ of Changting County, located in the red soil region of southern China, was assessed by using the remote sensing ecological index (RSEI) based on Landsat images from 1995 to 2019, and its spatiotemporal variability was identified by using the Global Moran's I index, standard deviational ellipse, and kernel density estimation. The results showed that, firstly, the EEQ degraded from 1995 to 2000, then improved from 2000 to 2019; secondly, the spatial distribution of the RSEI for each study year was not random and had a strong positive correlation; thirdly, the directional distributions of the RSEI for all the grades were almost in the direction of southwest to northeast, and the spatial discrete characteristics of the moderate- and good-grade areas were almost consistent from 1995 to 2019; fourthly, the kernel density distribution of the moderate- and good-grade EEQ was located in towns within the Tingjiang River Basin and in the surroundings of the study area, respectively. This study can help managers to better understand the spatial–temporal variations in the EEQ in the study area, supporting the government in formulating a better ecological restoration strategy. Global climate change highlights the significance of renewable clean energy. Geothermal energy from oilfields is abundant and can be utilized for residential heating and oil transportation. However, unreasonable heat exchange methods lead to groundwater level decline. Differences and delays between water extraction and reinjection inevitably cause land subsidence, hindering the sustainable utilization of geothermal energy resources. It is crucial to effectively monitor large-scale ground surface deformation characteristics in geothermal fields. In the research, 55 Sentinel-1A images from October 2018 to May 2022 were collected, and the ground deformation of Caofeidian new district in Bohai Bay Basin, where Nanpu Oilfield is located, in North China, was inverted by short baseline subsets-interferometric synthetic aperture radar (SBAS-InSAR) technology. The maximum subsidence velocity in Caofeidian new district exceeded 50 mm/year. Since April 2019, there has been concentrated ground subsidence in the Caofeidian new district, with a maximum cumulative subsidence exceeding 50 mm. The maximum cumulative subsidence exceeded 150 mm by May 2022. Combined with pumping and recharging tests near heating project in Caofeidian new district, the temporal subsidence mechanisms were revealed. The water extraction from the thermal reservoir caused drainage consolidation of the strata, triggering rapid subsidence in November. In April, discrepancy between water extraction and reinjection flow rate in thermal reservoir caused drainage consolidation of the strata, further exacerbating the subsidence trend. During rainy seasons, despite water reinjection and groundwater replenishment from precipitation, the strata in the Caofeidian new district underwent irreversible plastic deformation, with a slow rebound process, lagging behind urban areas without geothermal development by one month. InSAR is a reliable technology for understanding the ground deformation process in geothermal fields. Introduction: Grain family farms play an important role in promoting agricultural modernization and rural revitalization in China. Taking Hunan Province as an example, based on survey data from400 grain family farms and agricultural-multi-function theory, 24 specific indicators were selected from three dimensions-economic benefits, social benefits, and ecological benefits-to construct an evaluation system for the sustainable development level of grain family farms. Methods: The entropy weight TOPSIS method was used to measure the sustainable development level of grain family farms in Hunan Province, and the obstacle factor diagnosis model was used to explore the main obstacle factors affecting the sustainable development of grain family farms. Results: (1) The sustainable development level of grain family farms in Hunan Province was classified as good overall with respect to the classification criteria of existing relevant studies, but there were comparative differences in each dimension among the four regions (central Hunan, northern Hunan, southern Hunan, and western Hunan) of Hunan Province. (2) According to the diagnosis and analysis results of the obstacle degree, the top six obstacle factors affecting the sustainable development level of grain family farms in Hunan Province were the effective use of water resources, soil protection, and improvement efforts, the number of agricultural ecological culture inheritance activities, carbon emissionmanagement, the number of jobs provided for farmers, and adaptability to external environmental changes. Discussion: Relevant policies and systems should be formulated based on local conditions to enhance the integrity and synergy of the development of grain family farms in Hunan Province and to enhance the sustainable development ability of grain family farms in Hunan Province. Background: Gallstone disease poses a global threat to human health and is strongly linked to environmental factors. However, there is currently no data on the presence of rare earth elements (REEs) in human gallstones. This paper investigates the concentration and distribution of REEs in gallstones for the first time, aiming to explore the environmental implications on human health. Methods: A total of 25 gallstone samples were collected in Shanghai and the content of REEs was measured by Inductively coupled plasma-Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) to explore the distribution of REEs in gallstones. Results: The concentration of REEs in gallstones ranged from 4.89 to 190.8 ng/g (mean 39.21). In most of the gallstone analyses, REEs have been detected and generally attributed to environmental exposure or food contamination. The Y/Ho ratio of gallstones was lower than that of continental rocks, similar to that in the blood, indicating limited fractionation during fluid transport processes in the gallbladder. Conclusions: The upper continental crust (UCC)-normalized REEs pattern in gallstones showed depletion of light REEs, while most showed enrichment of heavy REEs. Positive Gd anomalies were found in most samples, while few samples suggested anthropogenic influence. Universities have become increasingly strict with the academic requirements of newly enrolled faculties. It manifests as the credential inflation of new applicants for university academic positions. There is little research that has provided empirical evidence for this phenomenon. This research takes China as a case, aiming to test whether there is credential inflation in universities and the inflation rate. To conduct research, we collect faculty resume information from 802 Chinese universities, including 159,752 resumes. Results confirm credential inflation in Chinese universities' newly enrolled faculties with domestic education. The credential inflation in elite universities, especially for 211 project universities, is the most obvious. On the contrary, those faculties with overseas education can be employed by higher-ranking institutions than local graduates, and the benefits of studying abroad in terms of the employment of university faculty have continuously improved overall. In the professional field of Chinese university faculties, the devaluation of domestic academic qualifications and the appreciation of overseas academic qualifications are relatively apparent. Background: China has undergone a significant socioeconomic transformation over the past few decades due to the implementation of family planning policies. These societal changes have resulted in an increased susceptibility among females to developing cardiometabolic diseases (CMD). Unfortunately, studies investigating the correlation between family planning policies in China and the incidence of CMD remain scarce. Methods: Data from 1,226 females, aged 30 years or older with ≥ 1 live birth, undergoing routine physical examinations between January 2018 and December 2021 were collected, and they were grouped by number of live births 1, 2, and ≥ 3. A binary logistic regression model was employed to examine the association between the number of live births with CMD. Furthermore, the subgroup analysis was performed to elucidate the impact of the implementation of family planning policies with CMD. Results: Women with live births ≥ 3 tended to be older, had higher gravidities, a greater proportion of central obesity, general obesity, hypertension, and dyslipidemia (all P < 0.05). Across the three groups (live birth = 1, =2 and ≥ 3), the odds ratio (OR) with 95% CI for obesity were: 1.00, 3.32 (2.36–4.69), and 5.73 (3.79–8.68); for dyslipidemia were: 1.00, 1.75 (1.29–2.39), and 2.02 (1.38–2.94); and for CMD were: 1.00, 1.91 (1.44–2.54), and 2.15 (1.46–3.15), respectively (all P < 0.05). In addition, based on the different periods of the childbearing policy in China, a subgroup analysis (where age was divided into ≤ 45, 45–65, and ≥ 65 years old) found that each additional live birth increased the prevalence risk of obesity and CMD in the younger generations, while hypertension and dyslipidemia in the elder generation. Conclusions: Higher live births are positively associated with the prevalence of CMD among women in Southwest China. Forest fires are a major natural calamity that inflict substantial harm on forest resources and the socio-economic landscape. The eastern region of China is particularly susceptible to frequent forest fires, characterized by high population density and vibrant economic activities. Precise forecasting in this area is essential for devising effective prevention strategies. This research utilizes a blend of kernel density analysis, autocorrelation analysis, and the standard deviation ellipse method, augmented by geographic information systems (GISs) and deep-learning techniques, to develop an accurate prediction system for forest-fire occurrences. The deep-learning model incorporates data on meteorological conditions, topography, vegetation, infrastructure, and socio-cultural factors to produce monthly forecasts and assessments. This approach enables the identification of spatial patterns and temporal trends in fire occurrences, enhancing both the precision and breadth of the predictions. The results show that global and local autocorrelation analyses reveal high-incidence areas mainly concentrated in Guangdong, Fujian, and Zhejiang provinces, with cities like Jiangmen exhibiting distinct concentration characteristics and a varied spatial distribution of fire occurrences. Kernel density analysis further pinpoints high-density fire zones primarily in Meizhou, Qingyuan, and Jiangmen in Guangdong Province, and Dongfang City in Hainan Province. Standard deviation ellipse and centroid shift analysis indicate a significant northward shift in the fire-occurrence centroid over the past 20 years, with an expanding spatial distribution range, decreasing flattening, and relatively stable fire-occurrence direction. The model performs effectively on the validation set, achieving an accuracy of 80.6%, an F1 score of 81.6%, and an AUC of 88.2%, demonstrating its practical applicability. Moreover, monthly fire zoning analysis reveals that high-incidence areas in spring and winter are mainly concentrated in Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang, and Hainan, while autumn shows widespread medium-incidence areas, and summer presents lower fire occurrences in most regions. These findings illustrate the influence of seasonal climate variations on fire occurrences and highlight the necessity for enhanced fire monitoring and prevention measures tailored to different seasons. Groundwater quality and availability in coastal aquifers have become a serious concern in recent times due to increased abstraction for domestic, agricultural and industrial purposes. (1) Background: Zhuhai city is selected as a representative coastal aquifer in Southern China to comprehensively evaluate the hydrochemical characteristics, spatial distribution and controlling mechanisms of groundwater. (2) Methods: A detailed study utilizing statistical analyses, a Piper diagram, Gibbs plots, and ion ratios was conducted on 114 surface water samples and 211 groundwater samples. (3) Results: The findings indicate that the pH of most groundwater is from 6.06 to 6.52, indicating a weakly acidic environment. The pH of surface water ranges from 5.35 to 9.86, with most values being weakly alkaline. The acidity in the groundwater may be related to the acidic atmospheric precipitation, an acidic unsaturated zone, oxidation of sulphide minerals and tidal action. The groundwater chemical types are predominantly mixed, followed by Ca-Mg-HCO3 type. Surface water samples are predominantly Na-Cl-SO4 type. The NO3− concentration in groundwater is relatively high, with a mean value of 17.46 mg/L. The NO2− and NH4+ concentrations in groundwater are relatively low, with mean values of 0.46 mg/L and 7.58 mg/L. (4) Conclusions: The spatial distribution of the principal chemical constituents in the groundwater is related to the landform. The chemical characteristics of groundwater in the study area are mainly controlled by the weathering and dissolution of silicate and sulfate minerals, evaporation, seawater mixing and cation exchange. Nitrate in clastic fissure groundwater, granite fissure groundwater and unconfined pore groundwater primarily originates from atmospheric precipitation, agricultural activities of slope farmland and forest land. Nitrate in confined pore groundwater and karst groundwater primarily originates from domestic sewage and mariculture wastewater. Our findings elucidate the processes characterizing the hydrogeology and surface water interactions in Zhuhai City's coastal system, which are relevant to other catchments with similar geological characteristics. As China's "Dual Carbon" strategy is implemented and the new urbanization advances, balancing economic development, emission reduction, and carbon sequestration has become an important issue during the growth of emerging metropolitan areas, and it is also important for achieving high-quality urban development. Therefore, this study had three major objective functions: economic growth, carbon emission reduction, and increased carbon storage. The multi-objective land use quantity structure was solved using the Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II (NSGA-II), and the best solution in the solution set was introduced using the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) for evaluation. Finally, combined with the Future Land Use Simulation (FLUS) model, the low-carbon evolution of the metropolitan area was predicted on a spatial scale. The trade-off plan results show that by 2035, the economic benefits will reach CNY 7.65 trillion, carbon emissions will be kept under 99.24 million tons, and carbon storage will steadily increase by 15.2 million tons. Therefore, optimizing land use from the perspective of balancing carbon emissions, carbon sequestration, and economic development can provide valuable references for planning low-carbon development and the rational use of spatial resources in future metropolitan areas. In China, the "land-restructuring" policy provides balanced land for urban settlements that is strictly limited in expansion. Therefore, reassessing and adjusting the layout of rural settlements is of great practical significance for promoting rural revitalization. In this paper, taking Xian'an district in Hubei Province as an example, we use the weighted rank-sum ratio comprehensive evaluation method and spatial association analysis method to analyze the development level and spatial pattern of settlements. The results show that: (1) The development level of settlements in Xian'an shows obvious spatial differences, with a spatial pattern of 'high in the core–low in the periphery' and 'high in the northwest–low in the southeast', which is the result of the combined effect of natural geographical conditions and socioeconomic conditions; (2) The comprehensive development level of settlements, evaluated based on four major indicators—population size, resource endowment, spatial characteristics, and material construction—reveals the presence of cluster effects, distance decay effects, administrative hierarchy effects, and "long board" effects; (3) Within village communities, settlements with significantly high levels and settlements with significantly low levels have a similar geographic distribution and mosaic spatial patterns. Lastly, based on the overall development level and spatial association patterns of settlements, this article presents possible options for governmental settlement governance from the standpoint of rural building management. Depression is a common health issue among college students, and its prevalence has been increasing in recent years. Numerous studies have indicated that experiences of childhood abuse may be a contributing factor to the development of depression. However, the underlying mechanism in this relationship remains unclear. The current study aimed to investigate the mediating effect of regulatory emotional self-efficacy in the relationship between childhood abuse and depression and to identify the moderating effect of subjective social status. A cross-sectional study was conducted with 1105 college students from several universities in Sichuan Province, China. A survey questionnaire was employed to collect information on childhood abuse, subjective social status, regulatory emotional self-efficacy, and depression. Pearson correlation analysis was used to explore the correlation between childhood abuse and depression. The bootstrap method was employed to test the mediating effect of regulatory emotional self-efficacy and the moderating effect of subjective social status. The results showed that childhood abuse was significantly positively correlated with depression (p < 0.001), regulatory emotional self-efficacy mediated the relationship between childhood abuse and depression, and subjective social status moderated the mediating path. Childhood abuse could affect depression by reducing subjective social status and regulatory emotional self-efficacy. These findings indicated that enhancing regulatory emotional self-efficacy and subjective social status may prevent or reduce depressive symptoms in college students, especially in those with left-behind experiences. While the literature on corporate social responsibility (CSR) has been growing, there is still a limited understanding of the connection between CSR reporting and corporate misconduct, especially in cases where the decision-making process is influenced by interactions between top management teams (TMTs) and boards of directors. The present study aims to fill this gap by exploring how this relationship is affected by factors such as chief executive officer (CEO) career horizon, TMT heterogeneity, and board size. This study develops and tests hypotheses with a sample of 90 construction firms in China from 2008 to 2017. The findings indicate that firms voluntarily issuing CSR reports are more likely to engage in illegal activities when the CEO career is longer and TMT heterogeneity is lower. Regarding the moderating role of board size, the result shows that large board size may not always imply better monitoring. While the positive impacts of CSR have been extensively emphasized, this study provides confirmation that it can also potentially lead to adverse behavior, such as corporate misconduct. Aligned with the upper echelon theory, this study substantiates the moderating roles of CEOs and TMTs. These findings are poised to make a contribution to the academic domain of CSR by elucidating the potential adverse outcomes of CSR activities and delineating the boundaries within which such outcomes occur. Practical Applications: This study endeavors to confront the recurring issue of corporate misconduct within the construction industry through an investigation into the impact of CSR reporting in conjunction with corporate governance mechanisms. The empirical findings reveal an intriguing trend: companies that voluntarily engage in CSR reporting are more susceptible to misconduct, particularly when helmed by long-tenured CEOs and TMTs characterized by limited diversity. Notably, the study also finds that board size does not significantly influence the CSR-reporting-misconduct relationship, suggesting that merely enlarging the board does not guarantee improved oversight. To address this issue, companies are advised to transition from a singular focus on CSR reporting to a comprehensive overhaul of their governance and management systems. Specifically, appointing CEOs with shorter decision horizons is touted as a promising strategy, alongside augmenting TMT diversity to balance diverse stakeholder demands and enhance decision-making quality. Moreover, government agencies are encouraged to refine existing corporate laws and regulations to promote greater TMT diversity. Through the diligent implementation of these multifaceted strategies, the construction industry can proactively mitigate instances of corporate misconduct and cultivate a genuine commitment to CSR activities, fostering a more ethical and responsible business environment. Despite the widespread promotion and adoption of technology, such as building information modeling (BIM), the level of employee enthusiasm for its use varies significantly. Active BIM use by employees is influenced by multiple factors that reside in different aspects and have complementary and substitutive relationships. These complex causal relationships have not been fully understood. This study, from a configuration perspective, investigates how institutional pressures (coercive, normative, and mimetic), organizational factors (management support and colleague opinion), and personal innovativeness with information technology (IT) impact active BIM use by employees. Using data from 250 employees with BIM work experience, this study employs fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) to reveal four configurations that achieve active BIM use by employees. By comparing and contrasting these configurations, three theoretical propositions are offered. The findings reveal that personal innovativeness with IT is a core condition, yet it requires the supplementation of institutional pressures and organizational factors. Among institutional pressures, mimetic pressures have a more significant impact compared with coercive and normative pressures, which function complementarily in fostering active BIM use by employees. When the three types of institutional pressure are not uniformly high, management support and colleague opinion manifest more complementarity in enhancing active BIM use; however, when all institutional pressures are high, they exhibit more substitutability. The results uncover the complex relationships among these factors, advance understanding of their influences on individual active technology use, and provide practical guidance for enterprises to effectively encourage active technology use by employees. Background: Online communication platforms have the potential to facilitate commercial sex among female sex workers (FSW), increasing the risk of contracting sexually transmitted diseases (STD). This study aimed to describe the patterns of online commercial sex-seeking and examine the associated factors among FSW in China., Methods: A venue-based cross-sectional study was conducted in five cities in Guangdong Province, China, between April and October 2020. Data on socio-demographic characteristics, sexual behaviors, and online commercial sex-seeking patterns were collected through face-to-face interviews. Venous blood and urine samples were collected for STD testing. Univariate and multivariable logistic regressions were used to explore the factors associated with online commercial sex-seeking., Results: A total of 1155 FSW were recruited in physical venues for this study. Among them, 33.42% reported ever using online applications to seek commercial sex. The prevalence of HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, and STD was 0.26%, 1.30%, 4.40%, 15.54%, and 18.39%, respectively, among FSW who had ever used both physical and online venues to seek commercial sex, which was higher than among FSW who had never sought commercial sex online. Multivariable logistic regression indicated that FSW who used online platforms to seek commercial sex were more likely to have STD (adjusted odds ratio (aOR) = 1.48, 95%CI: 1.05-2.09), experience unintended pregnancies due to commercial sex (aOR = 1.78, 95%CI: 1.21-2.62), be diagnosed as infertile (aOR = 3.20, 95%CI: 1.42-7.21), and undergo abortions (aOR = 1.69, 95%CI: 1.29-2.20)., Conclusion: A significant proportion of FSW who practiced in physical venues in China engaged in seeking commercial sex online, and this behavior is positively correlated with both STD and reproductive health outcomes. Background: The eight phenotypically distinguishable indigenous chicken breeds in Guizhou province of China are great resources for high-quality development of the poultry industry in China. However, their full value and potential have yet to be understood in depth. To illustrate the genetic diversity, the relationship and population structure, and the genetic variation patterns shaped by selection in Guizhou indigenous chickens, we performed a genome-wide analysis of 240 chickens from 8 phenotypically and geographically representative Guizhou chicken breeds and 60 chickens from 2 commercial chicken breeds (one broiler and one layer), together with 10 red jungle fowls (RJF) genomes available from previous studies., Results: The results obtained in this present study showed that Guizhou chicken breed populations harbored higher genetic diversity as compared to commercial chicken breeds, however unequal polymorphisms were present within Guizhou indigenous chicken breeds. The results from the population structure analysis markedly reflected the breeding history and the geographical distribution of Guizhou indigenous chickens, whereas, some breeds with complex genetic structure were ungrouped into one cluster. In addition, we confirmed mutual introgression within Guizhou indigenous chicken breeds and from commercial chicken breeds. Furthermore, selective sweep analysis revealed candidate genes which were associated with specific and common phenotypic characteristics evolved rapidly after domestication of Guizhou local chicken breeds and economic traits such as egg production performance, growth performance, and body size., Conclusion: Taken together, the results obtained from the comprehensive analysis of the genetic diversity, genetic relationships and population structures in this study showed that Guizhou indigenous chicken breeds harbor great potential for commercial utilization, however effective conservation measures are currently needed. Additionally, the present study drew a genome-wide selection signature draft for eight Guizhou indigenous chicken breeds and two commercial breeds, as well as established a resource that can be exploited in chicken breeding programs to manipulate the genes associated with desired phenotypes. The Xifeng Hot Spring is one of the eight largest hot springs in China, which is rich in radon gas and sulphur in karst scenery. Little is known about the microbiota structure in the spring. The water was collected from three sites containing the outlet of spring water discharge site (OWD), spring pool for tourist (SPT) and sewage effluent pool (SEP) in the Xifeng Hot Spring and further analyzed by culture-independent technique and culture-dependent method. A total of 57 phyla were identified from the water samples. The dominate phyla at OWD was Bacteroidetes (46.93%), while it was Proteobacteria in both sites of SEP and SPT with relative richness of 61.9% and 94.9%, respectively. Two bacteria, Deinococcus and Hymenobacter, that confirmed to be radiation-resistant, seven sulphur bacteria and three thermophilic bacteria were detected from Xifeng Hot Spring. Furthermore, it was found that genus Flavobacterium was susceptible to environmental change with abundance of 11 ~ 2825 times higher in OWD than the other two groups. Compared bacteria from the OWD group with that from 14 hot springs in six countries, total 94 unique genera bacteria were found out from the Xifeng Hot Spring including four thiometabolism-related bacteria (Propionispira, Desulforegula, Desulfobacter and Desulfococcus) and the thermophilic bacterium (Symbiobacterium). Using microbial culturing and isolation technology, sixteen strains were isolated from the water samples of three sites. The diversity of microbiota was abundant and variable along with the niche changed in conditions and surroundings. This research examines green finance's role in mitigating environmental concerns in China. The significance of the tax code for environmental protection is examined in detail. The research examines the association between green financing and lowering environmental hazards using regression analysis tests, dummy estimation techniques, and robustness analysis on data collected between 2003 and 2018. This research demonstrates that the Environmental Protection Tax Law is a valuable policy instrument for advancing environmentally responsible financing and addressing environmental issues. Green money was shown to be associated with lower environmental hazards. This study's results imply that tax legislation has been implemented to safeguard the environment in China, and more money has been placed into environmentally beneficial initiatives. The impact of environmental protection legislation on greenhouse gas emissions, urbanization, and CO2 emissions is also highlighted. Background: Headache disorders are widely prevalent and pose a considerable economic burden on individuals and society. Globally, misdiagnosis and inadequate treatment of primary headache disorders remain significant challenges, impeding the effective management of such conditions. Despite advancements in headache management over the last decade, a need for comprehensive evaluations of the status of primary headache disorders in China regarding diagnosis and preventative treatments persists., Methods: In the present study, we analyzed the established queries in the Survey of Fibromyalgia Comorbidity with Headache (SEARCH), focusing on previous diagnoses and preventative treatment regimens for primary headache disorders. This cross-sectional study encompassed adults diagnosed with primary headache disorders who sought treatment at 23 hospitals across China between September 2020 to May 2021., Results: The study comprised 2,868 participants who were systematically examined. Migraine and tension-type headaches (TTH) constituted a majority of the primary headache disorders, accounting for 74.1% (2,124/2,868) and 23.3% (668/2,868) of the participants, respectively. Medication overuse headache (MOH) affected 8.1% (231/2,868) of individuals with primary headache disorders. Over half of the individuals with primary headache disorders (56.6%, 1,624/2,868) remained undiagnosed. The previously correct diagnosis rates for migraine, TTH, TACs, and MOH were 27.3% (580/2,124), 8.1% (54/668), 23.2% (13/56), and 3.5% (8/231), respectively. The misdiagnosis of "Nervous headache" was found to be the most prevalent among individuals with migraine (9.9%, 211/2,124), TTH (10.0%, 67/668), trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias (TACs) (17.9%, 10/56), and other primary headache disorders (10.0%, 2/20) respectively. Background: Increasing crop yield per unit area by increasing planting density is essential to ensure food security. However, the optimal combination of planting density and nitrogen (N) application for high-yielding maize and its source-sink characteristics need to be more clearly understood., Results: A 2-year field experiment was conducted combining three planting densities (D1: 70 000 plants ha -1 ; D2: 100 000 plants ha -1 ; D3: 130 000 plants ha -1 ) and three nitrogen rates (N1: 150 kg hm -2 ; N2: 350 kg hm -2 ; N3: 450 kg hm -2 ). The results showed that increasing planting density significantly increased leaf area index and grain yield but negatively affected ear traits. The Richards model was used to fit the dynamic changes of dry matter accumulation of maize under different treatments, and the fitting results were good. Increasing planting density increased population yield while limiting the development of individual plants, bringing the period of rapid dry matter accumulation to an early end and accelerating leaf senescence. An appropriate nitrogen rate could prolong the period of rapid accumulation of dry matter in maize, and increase the 100-kernel weight. Increasing planting density enhanced post-silking dry matter accumulation to a lesser extent, and the source-sink relationship of the maize population gradually developed from sink limitation to source limitation with increasing planting density., Conclusion: The decrease in yield due to the insufficient source strength to meet the sink demand at too high densities was the reason that limited further improvement of the optimal planting density. The Late Quaternary activity characteristics of secondary faults located between the main active faults at the boundaries of large basins are of great significance to the overall understanding of regional seismic hazards. The Wulashan Northern Fault (WNF) is located on the northern side of the Ordos Block, within the Northern Margin Fault Basin in North China, between the Sertengshan Piedmont Fault and Daqingshan Piedmont Fault. Current research on the geometry and kinematics of the WNF needs to be improved. In this study, we aimed to determine the shallow structural characteristics and Late Quaternary activity of the WNF using shallow seismic exploration and composite drilling geological cross-sectional analysis. The results indicate that the WNF is not a single surface fault but multiple branches with a northward-dipping stepped surface distribution. The latest activity of the F1 branch with a maximum coseismic vertical dislocation of 0.9 m occurred before 47.08 ± 3.7 ka B.P. The latest and older activities of the branch of F2 with a maximum coseismic vertical dislocation of 0.96 m and 1.15 m occurred before 73.8 ± 2.8 ka B.P. and 91.2 ± 4.4 ka B.P., respectively. According to a series of empirical relationships between length of surface rupture and magnitude, the maximum potential magnitude of the earthquake was determined to be M = 6.5-7.0. We argue that even though the Late Quaternary activity of the WNF was weaker than that of the other boundary faults of the Hetao Basin, the local urban and rural planning and land and resources construction in the Hetao Basin region should pay attention to the seismic risk of the WNF as an independent section in the future for the effect of secular tectonic loading. In recent years, the NADC30-like strain has gradually emerged as prevalent in China, causing a profound impact on the country's pig farming industry. Therefore, it is important to conduct an in-depth study on the characteristics and gene functions of the NADC30-like strain. An infectious cDNA clone is an indispensable tool for investigating the functions of viral genes. In this current study, we successfully isolated a NADC30-like strain and constructed its full-length infectious cDNA clone. This article is based on panel data from 266 cities in China from 2009 to 2020. Classical economics theory and Marxist political economy theory are used as the theoretical basis for the study. Static spatial Durbin model regression and dynamic spatial Durbin model regression are conducted to analyze the impact of education investment on carbon dioxide emissions. The results show that education investment can significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions, not only through spatial spillover effects, but also through dynamic effects over time. The implementation of education investment in one city can have a positive impact on surrounding cities, thereby achieving a certain degree of reduction in carbon emissions. Additionally, the inhibitory effect of education investment on carbon emissions is more significant in the short term. Furthermore, the study found that there is significant heterogeneity in the effect of education investment on carbon dioxide emissions between northern and southern cities, with education investment in southern cities having a more significant effect. This may be related to the industrial structure and climate of southern cities. The conclusions of this study provide useful reference for the development of education policies and environmental protection policies. In the future, the government can increase education investment appropriately to achieve the goal of reducing carbon dioxide emissions. And research has shown that education investment can suppress carbon emissions by influencing changes in energy and industrial structures. Due to the repeated changes in the COVID-19 pandemic, we live in an era of various uncertainties that raise future anxiety and behavioral addiction problems. According to the Protection Motivation Theory (PMT), the present study attempted to explore the impact of COVID-19 intolerance of uncertainty (COVID-19 IU) on internet addiction (IA) among college students and the mediating role of future anxiety (FA) by constructing a mediating model. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 679 Chinese college students and PROCESS 3.5 was utilized to test the hypotheses. The results indicated that the COVID-19 IU was significantly positively correlated with IA and FA, and FA was significantly positively correlated with IA. COVID-19 IU had a significant positive predictive effect on IA; FA played a complementary partial mediating role between COVID-19 IU and IA. The results supported the PMT, which not only enriched our understanding of FA under uncertain life circumstances, but also deepened our understanding of the potential mechanisms of the effects of IA. During the Mesozoic, the North China Craton experienced intense tectonic movements that resulted in the formation of numerous gold deposits on the Liaodong and Jiaodong Peninsulas in northeastern China. To investigate the relationship between deep crustal structure and gold mineralization in the Liaodong Peninsula, we deployed 334 dense seismic stations in the Wulong goldfield (WLGF) with the idea of analysing numerous receiver functions at different array stations. The purpose focused on knowing the potential for gold mineralization in the area. The study revealed the following: (1) The WLGF is characterized by a crustal thickness of approximately 32 km and an average Vp/Vs ratio of 1.76. The high value of the Vp/Vs ratio near the Wulong gold deposit suggests that mantle materials have penetrated into the crust and contributed to the mineralization process. (2) A low-velocity layer located at a depth of 10-18 km below the WLGF seems to support the existence of a potentially brittle-ductile transition zone. Also, hydrothermal magma upwelling channels are observed in the upper crust beneath the Wulong gold deposit. (3) The presence of a discontinuous low-velocity layer in the middle crust beneath the Liaodong Peninsula suggests promising prospects for gold ore exploration. The receiver functions method based on a dense seismic array employed in this study can offer valuable references and guidance for the fine exploration and research of ore deposits in other regions globally. Malaria continues to cause high levels of morbidity and mortality despite concerted efforts to control the disease. The global burden is predominantly shouldered by countries in which the disease is highly endemic. In juxtaposition, the majority of evidence on progress towards malaria elimination has been documented in countries where baseline transmission was low. A notable exception is the People's Republic of China, in which the last indigenous case of malaria was recorded in 2016 after reporting over 30 million cases across various transmission strata in 1949. This review examined the extent, range, and nature of the literature addressing key contributors to malaria elimination in China. PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, ProQuest, Google Scholar and the WHO website were searched for relevant articles, and the JBI guidelines were followed for evidence selection, data extraction, and presentation of findings. The 17 articles that satisfied the eligibility criteria demonstrated the centrality of high-level political commitment in the elimination of malaria in China. The national malaria strategy was regularly updated to reflect evolving priorities, and the health system building blocks were strengthened to meet strategic targets. A whole-of-society approach to malaria was adopted, with intersectoral, interprovincial, regional, international, and community-mobilizing collaboration mechanisms established. Collaboration with academic institutions resulted in advantageous discoveries such as artemisinin, the current global gold standard for the treatment of malaria. The impact of malaria-specific interventions was augmented by China's economic growth. The findings of the review highlight the importance of adopting a comprehensive approach to malaria control that addresses the structural determinants of ill-health alongside downstream interventions. Introduction: The rapid aging of the labor force has serious implications for socioeconomic development and poses challenges to food sustainability. Existing studies have focused on the impact of labor force aging on land productivity, but little attention has been paid to the comprehensive capacity of agricultural production, namely the total factor productivity of agriculture. Methods: We estimate the impact of labor force aging on total factor productivity in agriculture using data from 170,506 sample farm households from the National Fixed Point Survey data from 2003 to 2020. We estimate the results using a panel fixed effects approach and mitigate the endogeneity problem using an instrumental variables approach to ensure the robustness of the estimates. Results and discussion: The results show that labor force aging has an adverse effect on the agricultural total factor productivity of farm households and remains robust after addressing endogeneity and substituting explanatory variables. The aging effect shows significant heterogeneity across different food functional areas with different types of farm households. The negative impact of labor force aging on total factor productivity in agriculture is mainly concentrated in the main grain-production and grain-producing and marketingbalanced areas. We also find that the negative impact of labor force aging is more significant among large-scale farmers. The mechanism analysis finds that the aging of the labor force adversely affects the agricultural total factor productivity by inhibiting technological progress and reducing the efficiency of agricultural resource allocation. These insights, when considered in the light of global trends towards agricultural labor aging, suggest that policy interventions aimed at promoting technological adoption, enhancing resource allocation efficiency, and supporting the transitioning of older farmers may hold promise for maintaining food sustainability and addressing the challenges posed by an aging agricultural workforce in numerous developing nations. The power industry's low carbon transition is pivotal for achieving carbon reduction and sustainable development. This study uses the super epsilon-based measurement (Super-EBM) model and the Malmquist index to evaluate the power industry's low carbon transition efficiency using data from 30 provinces in China from 2010 to 2020, and utilizes the Tobit model to comprehensively analyze the factors affecting the low carbon transition of power industry. In addition, this paper examines the spatial differences in the power industry's low carbon transition efficiency as well as its distributional characteristics and dynamic evolutionary patterns. Conclusion is drawn as follows this paper analyzes the regional differences, spatial distribution characteristics and dynamic evolutionary trends of the power industry's low carbon transition. The main conclusions are as follows: (1) The power industry's low carbon transition efficiency in China shows an uptrend, with the western China region having the highest overall level of efficiency, greater fluctuations in the central China region, and more stability in the eastern China region, technological progress is a central factor in increasing total factor productivity, the efficiency of the power industry's low carbon transition is positively influenced by the electricity prices, and negatively influenced by the energy structure, environmental regulations and economic structure; (2) the Intraregional differences and hypervariable density are the main reasons sources of the overall differences in the efficiency of the power industry's low carbon transition; Intraregional differences in the eastern, central, and western China regions are decreasing year by year, but the efficiency of the power industry's low carbon transition in the western China region is still distributed in a multipolar way; (3) The dynamic evolutionary trends of the efficiency distribution of the low carbon transition in power industry is influenced by the type of spatial lag in the neighboring area. Where areas with low efficiency makes it difficult to achieve short-term leapfrog development, and areas with a cluster of high-efficiency provinces are prone to "Siphon Effect". The findings provide a theoretical basis for promoting the efficiency of the power industry's low carbon transition and coordinating the strategic adjustment of economic and environmental green development. Introduction: Enterocytozoon bieneusi, an obligatory intracellular fungus, is prevalent among animals and humans. Due to their close interaction with humans and their extensive regional distribution, brown rats (Rattus norvegicus) are important pathogen reservoirs. To assess the zoonotic transmission potential of E. bieneusi, a molecular investigation was conducted on 817 R. norvegicus from four cities in Heilongjiang Province, China. Methods: A total of 817 R. norvegicus were collected from four cities in Heilongjiang Province, China. The genotyping of E. bieneusi was conducted through PCR amplification of the small subunit ribosomal RNA (SSU rRNA)'s internal transcribed spacer (ITS) segments. Phylogenetic and similarity analyses were used to examine zoonotic potential and genetic characteristics of the E. bieneusi-positive specimens. Results: Among the 817 R. norvegicus, the total infection rate was 33.3% (272/817). Seventy-five genotypes were identified, including 14 known genotypes D (n = 167), A (n = 15), HLJ-CP1 (n = 12), WR8 (n = 6), EbpC (n = 2), BEB6 (n = 1), CS-4 (n = 1), CHPM1 (n = 1), Henan-II (n = 1), HNH-22 (n = 1), HNH-25 (n = 1), I (n = 1), JLD-XI (n = 1), SDD5 (n = 1), and 61 novel genotypes designated as SHWR1 (n = 10), SYSWR1 (n = 2), and SHWR2 to SHWR17, SYSWR2 to SYSWR36 and QTHWR1 to QTHWR8 (n = 1, each). Moreover, 10 samples exhibited mixed genotype infections, including D+ A (n = 3), D+ EbpC (n = 1), D+ HLJ-CP1 (n = 1), D+ SHWR1 (n = 1), D+ SHWR16 (n = 1), D+ SHWR17 (n = 1), SDD5+ WR8 (n = 1), and CS-4+ SYSWR36 (n = 1). Phylogenetic analysis grouped the genotypes into three main groups: group 1 (n = 67), group 2 (n = 5), and group 9 (n = 3). Discussion: The high prevalence and genetic diversity of E. bieneusi in Heilongjiang Province's R. norvegicus imply that these animals spread the pathogen. The R. norvegicus that E. bieneusi carries can spread zoonotic disease, making it a serious hazard to the local human population. Therefore, it is imperative to raise awareness about the dangers posed by R. norvegicus and implement measures to reduce their population to prevent environmental contamination. Pitaya fruit is a significant agricultural commodity in southern China. The traditional method of determining the ripeness of pitaya by humans is inefficient, it is therefore of the utmost importance to utilize precision agriculture and smart farming technologies in order to accurately identify the ripeness of pitaya fruit. In order to achieve rapid recognition of pitaya targets in natural environments, we focus on pitaya maturity as the research object. During the growth process, pitaya undergoes changes in its shape and color, with each stage exhibiting significant characteristics. Therefore, we divided the pitaya into four stages according to different maturity levels, namely Bud, Immature, Semi-mature and Mature, and we have designed a lightweight detection and classification network for recognizing the maturity of pitaya fruit based on the YOLOv8n algorithm, namely GSE-YOLO (GhostConv SPPELAN-EMA-YOLO). The specific methods include replacing the convolutional layer of the backbone network in the YOLOv8n model, incorporating attention mechanisms, modifying the loss function, and implementing data augmentation. Our improved YOLOv8n model achieved a detection and recognition accuracy of 85.2%, a recall rate of 87.3%, an F1 score of 86.23, and an mAP50 of 90.9%, addressing the issue of false or missed detection of pitaya ripeness in intricate environments. The experimental results demonstrate that our enhanced YOLOv8n model has attained a commendable level of accuracy in discerning pitaya ripeness, which has a positive impact on the advancement of precision agriculture and smart farming technologies. The rise in mixed traffic has resulted in increased traffic congestion and accidents across China. The primary objective of this study was to accurately evaluate the operational efficiency and safety of signalized intersections in a mixed-traffic environment and to perform a spatial analysis of intersection traffic conflicts, as well as to apply physics theories to solve practical problems in traffic. The mixed nature of mixed traffic is a form of chaos. Through the matching analysis of mixed-traffic characteristics and entropy, entropy can be used effectively describe the mixed state of a signalized intersection and quantify traffic chaos and disorder. The results of this study show that the entropy flow in a motor-vehicle traffic environment is 0.3807, and the evaluation grade is C. Meanwhile, the entropy flow of a mixed motor vehicle–nonmotor vehicle–pedestrian traffic environment is 0.4084 and the evaluation grade is D, indicating an increase in confusion at intersections in this type of traffic environment compared to in a motor-vehicle traffic environment. The proposed model provides a scientific and systematic method for evaluating the signalized intersection operation in mixed-traffic environments, offering a reliable theoretical foundation for improving intersection travel efficiency and safety. Cloud model similarity algorithm is an important part of cloud modelling theory. Most of the existing cloud model similarity algorithms suffer from poor discriminability, poor classification, unstable results, and low time efficiency. In this paper, a new similarity algorithm is proposed that considers the triangular cloud model distance and shape. First, according to the D T distance formula, a new exponential closeness measure is defined, with which the distance similarity of cloud models is characterized. Then, the shape similarity is calculated according to the variance of the cloud model cloud drops. Finally, the two similarities are synthesized to define a similarity algorithm for determining the distance from the D T distance formula and shape based on the triangular cloud model (DDTSTCM). In this paper, discriminability, stability, efficiency and theoretical interpretability are taken as the evaluation indices. Equipment security system capability evaluation experiment, cloud model differentiation simulation experiment and time series classification accuracy experiment are set up to verify the effectiveness of the algorithm in terms of the four above aspects. The experimental results show that DDTSTCM has good differentiation and excellent classification effects. In the classification experiment for the time series, the average classification accuracy of DDTSTCM reaches 91.78%, which is at least 2.78% higher than those of the other seven commonly used algorithms. The CPU running efficiency of DDTSTCM is also extremely high, and the average CPU running time of group training is always on the order of milliseconds, which effectively reduces the time cost. Finally, a case study is conducted to analyse a risk assessment problem for China's island microgrid industry, and the evaluation results based on DDTSTCM are in line with human cognition and have good value for engineering applications.
