Objective: This study aims to explore the current hot topics and future research trends in spinal schwannoma imaging research, providing a reference for related studies and promoting the development of spinal schwannoma imaging. Methods: We conducted a literature search in the Web of Science database using the search terms (((TS = (Spinal schwannoma)) AND TS = (Imaging)) OR TS = (Spinal schwannoma)) AND TS = (image) to retrieve relevant articles. The collected data, including authors, keywords, journals, countries, institutions, and references, were subjected to visual analysis using the visualization software CiteSpace 6.4.2R and VOSviewer 1.6.19. Results: A total of 310 relevant articles were identified. After further screening based on time limits, inclusion, and exclusion criteria, 179 articles were included in the study, consisting of 132 original articles and 42 reviews. These articles were authored by 1,034 authors from 35 countries and 324 institutions and were published in 82 different journals. The included articles cited a total of 6,583 references from 1,314 journals. Conclusion: Although the field of spinal schwannoma imaging research is not a popular research area in the medical community, there has been an increasing international interest in this field in recent years. While China ranks high in terms of the number of published articles, there is still a gap in terms of the quality and research level compared to developed countries in Europe and America. MRI, as the gold standard for diagnosing spinal schwannomas, is expected to be a research hotspot in terms of feature analysis, enhancement characteristics, and quantitative analysis. Background: Seborrheic dermatitis (SD) is a common chronic inflammatory skin disease. In recent years, significant progress has been made in the field of SD, but there has been no bibliometric research yet. This study aims to use bibliometric methods to analyze the current research status and hot topics of SD, to understand further the research trends and future development prospects in this field. Methods: Retrieve core literature on SD from the Web of Science database and conduct a detailed analysis using CiteSpace and VOSviewer software based on factors such as publication volume, countries (regions), research institutions, journals, authors, highly‐cited papers, and keywords. Results: From 1996 to 2024, a total of 1436 publications were included in the bibliometric analysis. The number of publications has shown an increasing trend year by year. The USA is the leading country in this field of research. The University of California System is the primary research institution. The International Journal of Dermatology is the journal with the highest number of publications. The author Yang Won Lee has the highest number of publications, while the article "Seborrheic Dermatitis" (2004) by Gupta, A.K. has been cited the most. "Seborrheic dermatitis" is the most frequently occurring keyword. The main research hotspots and frontiers in SD are as follows: (1) The relationship between SD and other skin diseases is a popular research topic; (2) Malassezia and inflammation are current research hotspots in SD; and (3) Focusing on antifungal and anti‐inflammatory treatments for SD is the current frontier direction in this field. Conclusion: This study is a summary of the current status and hot trends of SD research, which helps clinical doctors and researchers quickly understand the insights and valuable information of SD research and provides reference for clinical decision‐making and finding future research directions. Background: Transcutaneous Vagal Nerve Stimulation (tVNS) has been used as a promising noninvasive neuromodulation technique for the treatment of various systems.The aim of this study was to analyze the research hotspots and future directions of tVNS in the 21st century by using bibliometric methods. Methods: The study object was the literature related to tVNS from the Web of Science database from 2000 to May 2024. In order to measure and analyze the number of literature issuance, institutions, authors, countries, keywords, cocitations, and journals of publication, we used VOSviewer, Citespace, Bibliometrix R-package, and Scimago Graphica software. A narrative review of the current research content of tVNS was conducted to gain a better understanding of the current state of the field. Results: A total of 569 papers were included in the study. The results show that from 2000 to 2024, the number of publications shows an increasing trend year by year, involving a total of 326 research institutions. The United States, China, and Germany are the major research centers. The study identified 399 keywords, which roughly formed 11 natural clusters, revealing that the current hotspots of related research are mainly reflected in 3 areas: intervention efficacy on nervous system diseases, mechanism of action of tVNS, and stimulation mode of tVNS. The top 10 most cited references focus on research into the mechanism of action of tVNS. Conclusion: The efficacy and safety of tVNS have been confirmed in previous studies, but a standardized tVNS treatment protocol has not yet been developed, and most clinical studies have small sample sizes and lack multicenter and multidisciplinary collaboration. Currently, tVNS is used in the treatment of neurological diseases, psychiatric diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and some autoimmune diseases. It is expected that future research in this field will continue to focus on the application of tVNS in central nervous system diseases and the exploration of related mechanisms, and at the same time, with the rise of non-invasive neuromodulation technology, the application of tVNS in other diseases also has great potential for development. Zanthoxylum planispinum is a type of plant with homologous properties in medicine and food, making it well-loved in China. To explore the development of the Z. planispinum field over the past 20 years, its research hotspots and frontier trends were analyzed. This study conducted database-based visualization analyses and knowledge graph analyses using CiteSpace software with data concerning Z. planispinum published in the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure and Web of Science databases between 2003 and 2023. Over the last 20 years, the number of Chinese and English publications on Z. planispinum has shown increasing trends. The foci of this research were mainly germplasm resources, cultivation management, seed oil extraction technology, flavonoid extraction technology, and correlation analyses of antioxidant activities. The main research frontiers included the unified standard naming and adaptation mechanisms of Z. germplasm resources, orientation cultivation, functional component extraction, processing technology research and development, and industrial chain construction. Trustworthiness is the most significant predictor of trust and has a significant impact on people's levels of trust. Most trustworthiness-related research is empirical, and while it has a long history, it is challenging for academics to get insights that are applicable to their fields of study and to successfully transfer fragmented results into practice. In order to grasp their dynamic development processes through the mapping of network knowledge graphs, this paper is based on the Web of Science database and uses CiteSpace (6.2.R4) software to compile and visualize the 1,463 publications on trustworthy studies over the past 10 years. This paper aims to provide valuable references to theoretical research and the practice of Trustworthiness. The findings demonstrate that: over the past 10 years, trustworthiness-related research has generally increased in volume; trustworthiness research is concentrated in industrialized Europe and America, with American research findings having a bigger global impact; The University of California System, Harvard University, and Yale University are among the high-production institutions; the leading figures are represented by Alexander Todorov, Marco Brambilla, Bastian Jaeger, and others; the core authors are distinguished university scholars; however, the level of cooperation of the core author needs to be improved. The primary journal for publishing research on trustworthiness is the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology and Biology Letters. Objective: To understand the current status of research in the field of metaverse, and to analyze the research progress and evolutionary trends in this field. Methods: Based on the bibliometric analysis, a total of 921 papers were obtained by searching the Web of science core database for the keyword "metaverse". CiteSpace was used to visualize and analyze the current status and trends of metaverse research in China. Results: Ireland is currently the country with the highest research impact. China is currently the country with the largest number of publications in this field, but the impact of the research is insufficient. The current research in the highly cited literature focuses on technical and history reviews of the metaverse as well as its development in the field of education. Artificial Intelligence and utaut2 are the underlying clusters of cited literature in this research area. Several research hotspots have been formed, such as virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality, digital twins and artificial intelligence. Conclusion: The current research on metaverse in various fields is basically in its infancy, but has a great potential for future development and will gradually penetrate into many different directions with many challenges. Scientific development can be extracted from published literature through its footprints. The information visualisation software, CiteSpace, was used to study relevant data in the field of port logistics from 2000 to 2020 in the Web of Science database, including literature, keywords, co-cited literature, etc., to generate visual knowledge mapping. The number of publications has increased annually, and the growth rate has accelerated since 2015. The country with the largest number of papers is China, followed by the United States and South Korea. China's Shanghai Maritime University has the most published literature. The productive author (with the most published papers so far) is Jasmine Siu Lee Lam. Keywords, such as modelg, management, systems, performance, transport, supply chain, and optimization are the most frequently used. Research hotspots mainly focused on simulation, transportation, location, ports-hinterland, supply chain management, service, allocation, policy, integration, and so on. Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) has attracted increasing research interest in sustainable management and decision-making in recent years. To further understand the research status and trend, the purpose of this study is to adopt bibliometric and visual methods to analyze the knowledge structure and the evolution path in the research field of ESG. Based on 1735 papers on ESG in the Web of Science Collection database from 2004 to 2021, this study uses CiteSpace and VOSviewer to present a bibliometric overview of publications, citation structure, authors, universities, countries/regions, journals, and keywords that work on this Topic. Results indicate that scholars increasingly regard ESG as an integrated sustainability analysis framework and pay more attention to the connection among its dimensions. According to the growth trend, ESG may remain a hot research topic for the next few years. The USA is the most productive country, followed by England and China. Journals on ESG research with higher effective factors have higher cocitation frequency and publications. And Sustainable development, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, ESG, and ESG ratings as the research hotspots are presented. Additionally, this study provides an overview of the ESG research trends for future researchers. Three-dimensional point cloud has been widely used in the cultural heritage field in the last two decades, gaining attention from both academic and industry communities. A large number of scientific papers have been published concerning this topic, which covers a wide range of journals, countries, and disciplines. There has been no comprehensive and systematic survey of recent literature performed in a scientometric way based on the complex network analysis methods. In this work, we extracted the terms (i.e., noun phrases included in the title, abstract and keywords), the documents, the countries that the research institutions are located in, and the categories that the literature belongs to from the Web of Science database to compose a term co-occurrence network, document co-citation network, collaborative country network and category co-occurrence network using CiteSpace software. Through visualizing and analyzing those networks, we identified the research hotspots, landmark literature, national collaboration, interdisciplinary patterns as well as the emerging trends through assessing the central nodes and the nodes with strong citation bursts. This work not only provides a structured view on state-of-art literature, but also reveals the future trends of employing 3D point cloud data for cultural heritage, aiding researchers carry out further research in this area. As non-renewable cultural heritage, wall paintings play an important role in society. To reveal the trends in the scientific analysis of mural paintings, 845 relevant research articles published from 2011 to 2021 were collected from the Web of Science database and analyzed. The VOSviewer software was adopted to map the network data of scientific publications, so that relationships among authors, countries, institutions can be displayed, and the co-occurrence of keywords and co-citation can be analyzed. The results revealed close and strong interconnections between the top authors, suggesting a considerable strong research link in this field. The cooperation between research institutions was relatively close. The most productive country of relevant publications was Italy. The leading journals for the scientific analysis of wall paintings were Journal of Raman Spectroscopy and Journal of Cultural Heritage. At present, the hotspots of scientific analysis and research on wall painting are revealing the composition, distribution, origin, and deterioration mechanism of pigments, alongside with evaluating the effects and mechanism of conservation materials and techniques. On the one hand, a possible development direction in this field is introducing more cutting-edge analysis and data processing methods. BACKGROUND: Patellofemoral pain syndrome is a common disease in the field of sports injuries. Research in and outside China is increasing year by year, but there is no visual analysis for patellofemoral pain syndrome. OBJECTIVE: To objectively analyze the literature research on patellofemoral pain syndrome in and outside China in the past 13 years, to summarize the recent research directions in this field and to sort out the knowledge structure in and outside China. METHODS: Relevant articles on patellofemoral pain syndrome were collected from Web of Science and CNKI. Citespace software was used for visual analysis to show the research hotspots and development trends of this field. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) A total of 1 679 articles were finally included in the Web of Science database. The authors with the most articles are De Oliveira Silva D from La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia and Crossley KM from the University of Melbourne, Australia. Hot keywords are hip, biomechanics, prevention (prognosis), prevalence disease rate, consensus statement, gender differences, electromyographic activity, risk factor, and osteoarthritis. (2) A total of 214 articles were included and analyzed in the CNKI database. The author with the most articles is Miao Ping from the Rehabilitation Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University. Hot keywords are arthroscopy, biomechanics, strength training, lateral femoral muscle, surface electromyography, patellofemoral arthritis, and joint replacement. (3) International research hotspots show the biomechanical characteristics of increased knee external rotation, increased hip adduction, and decreased hip internal rotation during patient exercise. Strengthening the hip abductors and external rotators can effectively improve the pain and function of patients. At present, the most appropriate method to treat the disease in the world is a customized multi-modal intervention program, including strengthening of the gluteal muscles and quadriceps, emphasizing education and activity adjustment. (4) The results of major Chinese studies in this field confirm that the use of arthroscopic surgery can improve the pain of patients with patellofemoral pain syndrome, and patellofemoral joint replacement has a certain effect on early severe patellofemoral arthritis in such patients. Rehabilitation training methods are mainly based on hip joint strength training, supplemented by core muscles, lower limb eccentric strength and neuromuscular control training. [Objectives] To analyze the current research situation, hotspots and trends of curcumin and diabetes in recent 10 years. [Methods] Web of Science database was set as data source, the annual number of papers, the distribution of authors, the distribution of country/institution, the distribution of journals, the distribution of key words in the literature about curcumin and diabetes from January 1,2010 to March 31, 2021 were quantitatively and visually analyzed with the aid of visualization software Bibliometrix. [Results] A total of 475 articles were included, and the annual number of papers was on the rise; the top three high-yielding countries were China (120 papers), India (65 papers), and the United States (58 papers). In terms of international cooperation, China and the United States had the most cooperation (27 papers); the top three high-yielding institutions were Wenzhou Medical University (42 papers), Mashhad University of Medical Sciences (41 papers) and Tehran University of Medical Sciences (30 papers); the most frequently cited authors were Wang Y (19 times), Li X (13 times), Li Y (12 times), Liang G (12 times) and Zhang Y (12 times); the top three journals in number of papers were Diabetology & Metabolic Syndrome (8 papers), PLoS One (8 papers), and European Journal of Pharmacology (7 papers), and the h index was 7,8, and 6, respectively; the most frequently cited journals were Diabetes (496 times), Journal of Biological Chemistry (486 times), PLoS One (347 times), Diabetes Care (284 times), and European Journal of Pharmacology (229 times); the most frequent key words mainly included oxidative stress, curcumin, insulin-resistance and expression; the hotspots were insulin resistance and NF-kP>, mainly focusing on in vitro experiments. [Conclusions] The curcumin has good therapeutic potential in improving insulin resistance, inhibiting inflammation and oxidative stress, etc. The results are expected provide a reference and basis for scientific researchers to understand the current situation of curcumin and diabetes research and cany' out the further research. BACKGROUND: Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) technology has been widely used in neuropsychology, rehabilitation medicine, and pediatrics, due to its advantages of painlessness, non-invasiveness, effectiveness and safety. However, there is yet no visual analysis of literature on TMS for treating stroke. OBJECTIVE: To objectively analyze global research on TMS in the treatment of stroke in recent 10 years, and summarize the recent research direction of this field and sort out the knowledge structure worldwide. METHODS: Based on the relevant literature on TMS for stroke in databases of CNKI and Web of Science, Citespace software was used to visualize the use of TMS in the treatment of stroke. The number, countries, authors, research institutions, keywords, cited references and journals of relevant literatures and funding grants were analyzed to explore the research hotspot and development trend in this field. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: A total of 1 729 articles were included in the Web of Science database. Among them, the institution with the most publications was Harvard Medical School, and the country with the most publications was the United States, followed by China. China ranks first in international fund support. The hot keywords included rehabilitation, excitability, motor cortex and etc. As described in a representative English article, TMS therapy at a frequency of 1 Hz was found to improve patients’ motor function to a greater extent. A total of 455 literatures were included in CNKI database. Among them, the institution with the most publications was the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine of Huashan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University, and the hot keywords were rehabilitation, depression, motor function, aphasia and so on. As described in a representative Chinese article, high-frequency TMS was found to be more effective than low-frequency TMS in improving post-stroke depression and daily living ability. Further analysis of the results shows that, in recent 10 years, the international research frontier and future development trend mainly focus on the mechanism of TMS on cerebral cortical motor areas and the efficacy of TMS combined with other rehabilitation therapies (motor learning and mirror therapy) in the treatment of various functional disorders after stroke. BACKGROUND: Currently, there is still no visual analysis using Citespace software in the field of "Sports and Cognition. OBJECTIVE: As increasing concern has been paid on the effect of sports on cognition, to summarize the research development in this field that can provide references for researchers in relevant fields. METHOD: Web of Science database was retrieved as the following strategy: (Tl=(exercise AND cognit*) OR Tl=(exercise AND learning) OR Tl=(exercise AND memory) OR Tl={exercise AND feeling) OR Tl=(exercise AND thinking) OR Tl=(exercise AND imagination} OR Tl=(exercise AND language) OR Tl=(exercise AND perception)} AND type of literature:(Article OR Review). The length of search time was from January 1st 1989 to December 25th, 2018. Based on the 2 175 related literature in the Web of Science database, CiteSpace software was used for visual analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: In recent years, research on the field of "Sports and Cognition" has developed dramatically. The most popular countries and regions are mainly located in North America and Europe. The research in this field includes both applied research and basic research, involving almost all diseases associated with cognition. Aerobic exercise is mainly used, but it is unclear about the cognitive levels of different populations under different forms of aerobic exercises. Various classic research methods of many disciplines have been used in this field to study cognitive indicators and neurobiological indicators related to aerobic exercises. There are two major knowledge groups in this field, including "changes in cognition caused by sports" and "mechanism of cognition caused by sports." Further cross-regional and cross-national cooperation is needed. We should strengthen the research on the mode and intensity of various kinds of exercises and seek for the optimal exercise to improve the cognitive level of different populations, and use as many indicators as possible to assess the effects of exercise on cognition. Based on the bibliometric and data visualization analysis software Citespace, this study carried out document statistics and information mining on the Web of Science database and characterized the distributed hydrological model knowledge system from 1986 to 2019. The results show a few things: (1) from 1986 to 2019, the United States and China accounted for 41% of the total amount of publications, and they were the main force in the field of distributed hydrological model research; (2) field research involves multiple disciplines, mainly covering water resources, geology, earth sciences, environmental sciences, ecology and engineering; (3) the frontier of field research has shifted from using distributed hydrological models in order to simulate runoff and nonpoint source environmental responses to the coupling of technologies and products that can obtain high-precision, high-resolution data with distributed hydrological models. (4) Affected by climate warming, the melting of glaciers has accelerated, and the spatial distribution of permafrost and water resources have changed, which has caused a non-negligible impact on the hydrological process. Therefore, the development of distributed hydrological models suitable for alpine regions and the response of hydrological processes to climate change have also become important research directions at present.
