The article discusses the study conducted by Prairie Swine Centre Elstow Research Farm which shows that the productivity in electronic sow feeding systems is comparable to sows housed in stalls that is provided with proper management practices. In the study, 800 breedings were compared with females ranging in age from gilts to Parity 5 wherein new animals were added in each reproductive cycle. In addition, the data was maintained for sows housed in stalls for their entire gestation period.
