The study examines the motives and criteria for the participation of older dialysis employees in further training measures. It was found that older employees recognize the value of further training and support the importance of further training measures in the face of increasing job-related demands. The study also shows that the initiation of further training measures by superiors plays a major role and could increase the participation rate. The results suggest that a combination of online offerings and face-to-face instruction could be the appropriate form of learning for older employees. In addition, older workers are interested in cross-generational further training measures that could be promoted through mentoring programs. The article deals with the promotion of further training participation among older employees. It is emphasized that the competencies of both young and old should be equally valued in order to promote the inclusion of all age groups. A diverse range of further training offerings and personal conversations with superiors are identified as important factors for further training participation. The design of company courses and seminars should be more influenced by the practical needs of the company. It is recommended to align the learning objectives and content with the needs and competencies of the target group and to use constructivist didactics. The results of the survey can be used to generate specific further training measures or optimize existing measures. [Extracted from the article]
