ROTAXANES , *MOLECULES , *AMINES - Abstract
The article discusses the creation of hybrid rotaxane structures by a team led by chemists David A. Leigh and Richard E. P. Winpenny from linear secondary amine threads and hetero-metallic rings in Great Britain. It states that one of the hybrid rotaxanes acts as a molecule shuttle. Leigh said that the hybrid molecule is the first example of a discrete molecule linking organic and inorganic components at the molecular level.
