Dr. S. Sridhar, a scientist at the CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, has been honored as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry in London. Dr. Sridhar has had a distinguished career in membrane technology and has developed and transferred numerous technologies to the chemical and allied industries. His notable achievements include the commissioning of multiple membrane pilot plants used in solvent recovery, effluent treatment, and gas purification across various industries. In other news, the Supreme Court has stayed a Gujarat High Court order that reinstated anti-dumping duty on imported purified terephthalic acid (PTA) from Korea and Thailand, which is used to make polyester products. The decision to reinstate the duty was a relief for domestic manufacturers who had filed petitions to protect themselves from damage caused by cheap imports. [Extracted from the article]
