Abstract

Nayara Energy, a leading downstream energy company, has achieved a key milestone by dispatching its first consignment of Polypropylene from its new petrochemical unit in Vadinar, Gujarat. The unit has a capacity of 450,000 tonnes per year and is strategically located in Western India to meet the growing demand for Polypropylene. The project, with an investment of ~₹ 6,000 crores, includes a Propylene Recovery Unit, an upgraded FCC Unit, and a Polypropylene Unit. Additionally, Dr. S. Sridhar, a scientist at the CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, has been honored as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry in London for his extensive research in membrane technology.
