Uncontrolled complement activation can cause or contribute to glomerular injury in multiple kidney diseases. Although complement activation plays a causal role in atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome and C3 glomerulopathy, over the past decade, a rapidly accumulating body of evidence has shown a role for complement activation in multiple other kidney diseases, including diabetic nephropathy and several glomerulonephritides. The number of available complement inhibitor therapies has also increased during the same period. In 2022, Kidney Diseases: Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) convened a Controversies Conference, “The Role of Complement in Kidney Disease,” to address the expanding role of complement dysregulation in the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management of various glomerular diseases, diabetic nephropathy, and other forms of hemolytic uremic syndrome. Conference participants reviewed the evidence for complement playing a primary causal or secondary role in progression for several disease states and considered how evidence of complement involvement might inform management. Participating patients with various complement-mediated diseases and caregivers described concerns related to life planning, implications surrounding genetic testing, and the need for inclusive implementation of effective novel therapies into clinical practice. The value of biomarkers in monitoring disease course and the role of the glomerular microenvironment in complement response were examined, and key gaps in knowledge and research priorities were identified.

Renin, an aspartate protease, regulates the renin-angiotensin system by cleaving its only known substrate angiotensinogen to angiotensin. Recent studies have suggested that renin may also cleave complement component C3 to activate complement or contribute to its dysregulation. Typically, C3 is cleaved by C3 convertase, a serine protease that uses the hydroxyl group of a serine residue as a nucleophile. Here, we provide seven lines of evidence to show that renin does not cleave C3. First, there is no association between renin plasma levels and C3 levels in patients with C3 Glomerulopathies (C3G) and atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (aHUS), implying that serum C3 consumption is not increased in the presence of high renin. Second, in vitrotests of C3 conversion to C3b do not detect differences when sera from patients with high renin levels are compared to sera from patients with normal/low renin levels. Third, aliskiren, a renin inhibitor, does not block abnormal complement activity introduced by nephritic factors in the fluid phase. Fourth, aliskiren does not block dysregulated complement activity on cell surfaces. Fifth, recombinant renin from different sources does not cleave C3 even after 24 hours of incubation at 37 °C. Sixth, direct spiking of recombinant renin into sera samples of patients with C3G and aHUS does not enhance complement activity in either the fluid phase or on cell surfaces. And seventh, molecular modeling and docking place C3 in the active site of renin in a position that is not consistent with a productive ground state complex for catalytic hydrolysis. Thus, our study does not support a role for renin in the activation of complement.

AimsTo compare and rank the myopia control effects of different light wavelengths in children using a systematic review and Bayesian network meta-analysis (Bayesian NMA).MethodsThe review protocol was registered with PROSPERO. We searched PubMed, EMBASE and MEDLINE for relevant clinical and animal studies published as of 2 February 2023. We included studies comparing red, violet or full-spectrum light with controls. Data extracted included descriptive statistics and study outcomes (axial length (AL) elongation and progression of spherical equivalent (SE) refraction). After quality assessment, estimates of treatment effect outcomes (mean differences (MDs) and 95% CIs) were first pooled for the animal and clinical studies in a traditional meta-analysis. To compare and rank the different light wavelengths, the Bayesian NMA was then conducted for all the included clinical studies (12 studies) and separately for only randomised controlled trials (8 studies). MDs, 95% credible intervals (CrIs) and ranks of the various light wavelengths were estimated in the Bayesian NMA.ResultsWhen all clinical studies were included in the Bayesian NMA (12 studies), only red-light significantly slowed AL elongation, MD (95% CrI), −0.38 mm (−0.59 mm to −0.16 mm)/year and SE refraction progression, 0.72D (0.35D to 1.10D)/year compared with controls. It remained the only significant intervention when effect sizes from only RCTs (eight studies) were separately combined, (−0.28 mm (−0.40 mm to −0.15 mm)/year and 0.57D (0.22D to 0.92D)/year, for AL and SE refraction, respectively).ConclusionMyopia control efficacy varied among different wavelengths of light, with red light ranked as the most effective.PROSPERO registration numberClinical studies: CRD42022368998; animal studies: CRD42022368671.

Background: To compare the prevalence of refractive (RA), corneal (CA), and internal astigmatism (IA) in Hong Kong children and adults and evaluate the role of IA in compensating for total astigmatism and its relations to myopic traits. Methods: The Hong Kong Children Eye Study is a population-based cross-sectional study. Totally 3704 school children (mean age 7.5 ± 1.0 years) and 5577 adults (mean age 41.1 ± 7.5 years), who were their parents, were recruited. Cycloplegic and non-cycloplegic refractive cylinders were obtained from children and adults, respectively. Spearman correlation was applied to detect associations between astigmatism, ocular biometrics, refraction, and lens power. Astigmatism compensation factor (CF) was derived from the power vector analysis J0 and J45. Results: The prevalence of RA (≤−1.0 D), CA (≥+1.0 D) and IA (≥+1.0 D) was 21.9%, 63.9%, and 9.9% in children, and 30.9%, 39.5%, and 23.7% in adults respectively. The mean RA, CA and IA values in children and adults were −0.69 ± 0.66 D, +1.14 ± 0.61 D, +0.62 ± 0.32 D, and −0.80 ± 0.74 D, +0.97 ± 0.69 D, and +0.76 ± 0.43 D, respectively. In adults and children, IA was negatively correlated with axial length (p< 0.0001), but positively correlated with spherical values and equivalent (p< 0.0001), suggesting an association of astigmatism with myopic traits. A greater proportion of children exhibited compensation by IA than adults in J0 (86.6% vs. 66.0%, p< 0.0001) and J45 components (55.5% vs. 41.7%, p< 0.0001). Conclusions: Chinese children in Hong Kong exhibit a higher prevalence of RA and CA than in other cities. Children displayed a greater compensation by IA than adults, suggesting an age-related attenuation of IA compensation. IA is associated with myopic traits.

Recently, slippery liquid-infused porous surfaces (SLIPS) have attracted extensive attention due to their excellent anti-icing performance. However, the unsatisfactory durability resulting from the loss of lubricant hinders its practical application. Here, a micro/nanointegrated lubricant-infused surface combining microcone hole array and TiO2porous nanostructure (P-SLIPS) was fabricated, where its inverted pyramid-shaped microgroove can protect the nanoporous structure from being damaged. Experimental results show that with the aid of microcone hole array, the sanding repelling properties of P-SLIPS have dramatically improved with the significantly decreased ice adhesion strength after 7 sanding cycles. In the process of droplet scouring and dynamic icing, the icing phenomenon in P-SLIPS did not occur even after 10 sanding cycles, while this value is 3 sanding cycles in SLIPS. All of these could be attributed to the introduction of microcone array structure, which makes the coating not be completely damaged during the icing/deicing and sanding polishing processes. Thus, the anti-icing durability of the P-SLIPS can be greatly improved.

BackgroundThe impacts of social restrictions for COVID-19 on children’s vision and lifestyle remain unknown.AimsTo investigate myopia incidence, spherical equivalent refraction (SER) and lifestyle changes among schoolchildren during the COVID-19 pandemic.MethodsTwo separate longitudinal cohorts of children aged 6–8 years in Hong Kong were included. The COVID-19 cohort was recruited at the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, whereas the pre-COVID-19 cohort was recruited before the COVID-19 pandemic. All children received ocular examinations, and answered a standardised questionnaire relating to their lifestyle, including time spent on outdoor activities and near work, both at baseline and at follow-up visits.ResultsA total of 1793 subjects were recruited, of whom 709 children comprised the COVID-19 cohort with 7.89±2.30 months of follow-up, and 1084 children comprised the pre-COVID-19 cohort with 37.54±3.12 months of follow-up. The overall incidence was 19.44% in the COVID-19 cohort, and 36.57% in pre-COVID-19 cohort. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the change in SER and axial length was –0.50±0.51 D and 0.29±0.35 mm, respectively; the time spent on outdoor activities decreased from 1.27±1.12 to 0.41±0.90 hours/day (p<0.001), while screen time increased from 2.45±2.32 to 6.89±4.42 hours/day (p<0.001).ConclusionsWe showed a potential increase in myopia incidence, significant decrease in outdoor time and increase in screen time among schoolchildren in Hong Kong during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our results serve to warn eye care professionals, and also policy makers, educators and parents, that collective efforts are needed to prevent childhood myopia—a potential public health crisis as a result of COVID-19.

Atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome (aHUS) is a life-threatening thrombotic microangiopathy that can progress, when untreated, to end-stage renal disease. Most frequently, aHUS is caused by complement dysregulation due to pathogenic variants in genes that encode complement components and regulators. Among these genes, the factor H (FH) gene, CFH, presents with the highest frequency (15% to 20%) of variants and is associated with the poorest prognosis. Correct classification of CFHvariants as pathogenic or benign is essential to clinical care but remains challenging owing to the dearth of functional studies. As a result, significant numbers of variants are reported as variants of uncertain significance. To address this knowledge gap, we expressed and functionally characterized 105 aHUS-associated FH variants. All FH variants were categorized as pathogenic or benign and, for each, we fully documented the nature of the pathogenicity. Twenty-six previously characterized FH variants were used as controls to validate and confirm the robustness of the functional assays used. Of the remaining 79 uncharacterized variants, only 29 (36.7%) alter FH expression or function in vitro and, therefore, are proposed to be pathogenic. We show that rarity in control databases is not informative for variant classification, and we identify important limitations in applying prediction algorithms to FH variants. Based on structural and functional data, we suggest ways to circumvent these difficulties and, thereby, improve variant classification. Our work highlights the need for functional assays to interpret FH variants accurately if clinical care of patients with aHUS is to be individualized and optimized.

Cultivating drought-tolerant tea varieties enhances both yield and quality of tea plants in northern China. However, the mechanisms underlying their drought tolerance remain largely unknown. Here we identified a key regulator called CsREV, which differentially regulates xylem patterns between leaves and stems, thereby conferring drought tolerance in tea plants. When drought occurs, upregulation of CsREV activates the CsVND7a-dependent xylem vessel differentiation. However, when drought persists, the vessel differentiation is hindered as CsVND7ais downregulated by CsTCP4a. This, combined with the CsREV-promoted secondary-cell-wall thickness of xylem vessel, leads to the enhanced curling of leaves, a characteristic closely associated with plant drought tolerance. Notably, this inhibitory effect of CsTCP4a on CsVND7aexpression is absent in stems, allowing stem xylem vessels to continuously differentiate. Overall, the CsREV-CsTCP4-CsVND7module is differentially utilized to shape the xylem patterns in leaves and stems, potentially balancing water transportation and utilization to improve tea plant drought tolerance.

The capacitated arc routing problem is a very important problem with many practical applications. This paper focuses on the large scale capacitated arc routing problem. Traditional solution optimization approaches usually fail because of their poor scalability. The divide-and-conquer strategy has achieved great success in solving large scale optimization problems by decomposing the original large problem into smaller sub-problems and solving them separately. For arc routing, a commonly used divide-and-conquer strategy is to divide the tasks into subsets, and then solve the sub-problems induced by the task subsets separately. However, the success of a divide-and-conquer strategy relies on a proper task division, which is non-trivial due to the complex interactions between the tasks. This paper proposes a novel problem decomposition operator, named the route cutting off operator, which considers the interactions between the tasks in a sophisticated way. To examine the effectiveness of the route cutting off operator, we integrate it with two state-of-the-art divide-and-conquer algorithms, and compared with the original counterparts on a wide range of benchmark instances. The results show that the route cutting off operator can improve the effectiveness of the decomposition, and lead to significantly better results especially when the problem size is very large and the time budget is very tight. Atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome is an ultra-rare disease characterized by microangiopathic hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia and acute kidney injury. Its pathogenesis is driven most frequently by dysregulated cell-surface control of the alternative pathway of complement secondary to inherited and/or acquired factors. Here we evaluated two unrelated patients with atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome. The first, a five-year-old Caucasian female, presented at 10 months with schistocytes, thrombocytopenia and kidney injury. The second, a 55-year-old Caucasian female, presented at age 31 following caesarean section for preeclampsia. Complement biomarker testing was remarkable for undetectable levels of C3 in both. Circulating levels of C5 and properdin were also low consistent with over-activity of the alternative and terminal pathways of complement. Genetic testing identified a heterozygous novel variant in CFB(c.1101 C>A, p.Ser367Arg) in both patients. Functional studies found strong fluid-phase C3 cleavage when normal and proband sera were mixed. Cell-surface C3b deposition was strongly positive when patient serum was supplemented with C3. In vitrocontrol of C3 convertase activity could be restored with increased concentrations of factor H. Thus, CFBp.Ser367Arg is a gain-of-function pathogenic variant that leads to dysregulation of the alternative pathway in the fluid-phase and increased C3b deposition on cell surfaces. Our study highlights the complexities of complement-mediated diseases like atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome and illustrates the importance of functional studies at the variant level to gain insight into the disease phenotype.

PIN-FORMED (PIN) transporters mediate directional, intercellular movement of the phytohormone auxin in land plants. To elucidate the evolutionary origins of this developmentally crucial mechanism, we analysed the single PIN homologue of a simple green alga Klebsormidium flaccidum. KfPIN functions as a plasma membrane-localized auxin exporter in land plants and heterologous models. While its role in algae remains unclear, PIN-driven auxin export is probably an ancient and conserved trait within streptophytes.

Background: Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are the most frequently prescribed agents to treat depression. Considering the growth in antidepressant prescription rates, SSRI-induced adverse events (AEs) need to be comprehensively clarified.Objective: This study was to investigate safety profiles and potential AEs associated with SSRIs using the Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS).Methods: A retrospective pharmacovigilance analysis was conducted using the FAERS database, with Open Vigil 2.1 used for data extraction. The study included cases from the marketing date of each SSRI (ie, citalopram, escitalopram, fluoxetine, paroxetine, fluvoxamine, and sertraline) to April 30, 2023. We employed the reporting odds ratio and Bayesian confidence propagation neural network as analytical tools to assess the association between SSRIs and AEs. The Medical Dictionary for Regulatory Activities was used to standardize the definition of AEs. AE classification was achieved using system organ classes (SOCs).Results: Overall, 427 655 AE reports were identified for the 6 SSRIs, primarily associated with 25 SOCs, including psychiatric, nervous system, congenital, familial, genetic, cardiac, and reproductive disorders. Notably, sertraline (n= 967) and fluvoxamine (n= 169) exhibited the highest and lowest signal frequencies, respectively. All SSRIs had relatively strong signals related to congenital, psychiatric, and nervous disorders.Conclusions and relevance: Most of our findings are consistent with those reported previously, but some AEs were not previously identified. However, AEs attributed to SSRIs remain ambiguous, warranting further validation. Applying data-mining methods to the FAERS database can provide additional insights that can assist in appropriately utilizing SSRIs.

Background: Previous studies have primarily focused on the relationships among the health locus of control (HLC), healthy lifestyle and life satisfaction of college students. However, little is known about the mediating mechanism of healthy lifestyle on the other two aspects. This study aims to address this issue. Methods: A total of 2394 students from six colleges in Hubei Province validly completed self-report questionnaires, including the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), Healthy Lifestyle Questionnaire for college students and Multidimensional Health Locus of Control Scale (MHLC), which covered three dimensions: internal HLC, powerful others HLC and chance HLC. Partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) was employed to analyses the hypothesized relationships in the path model, and a mediation analysis was used to verify the indirect relationships. Results: Healthy lifestyle and life satisfaction showed positive relations with both internal HLC and powerful others HLC, but a significant negative association with chance HLC. In addition, healthy lifestyle mediated the relationships of internal HLC, powerful others HLC and chance HLC with life satisfaction. Conclusions: Healthy lifestyle mediates the impact of HLC on life satisfaction. Students with high IHLC tend to develop a healthier lifestyle and have higher LS. Powerful others also exert positive effects in collectivist cultural backgrounds. Thus, colleges should give full play to the positive role of psychological health and physical education courses in improving students’ IHLC. Meanwhile, the positive guiding effect of powerful others should be stressed. Further, particular emphasis should also be placed on the peer influence, new media publicity functions, community intervention, and college systematic appraisal, especially during and after public health emergencies.

C3 glomerulopathy (C3G) defines a group of rare complement-mediated kidney diseases with a shared underlying pathophysiology: dysregulation of complement in the fluid phase and glomerular microenvironment. Dysregulation can be driven by autoantibodies to C3 and C5 convertases.

The phytohormone auxin and its directional transport through tissues play a fundamental role in development of higher plants. This polar auxin transport predominantly relies on PIN-FORMED (PIN) auxin exporters. Hence, PIN polarization is crucial for development, but its evolution during the rise of morphological complexity in land plants remains unclear. Here, we performed a cross-species investigation by observing the trafficking and localization of endogenous and exogenous PINs in two bryophytes, Physcomitrium patensand Marchantia polymorpha, and in the flowering plant Arabidopsis thaliana.We confirmed that the GFP fusion did not compromise the auxin export function of all examined PINs by using radioactive auxin export assay and by observing the phenotypic changes in transgenic bryophytes. Endogenous PINs polarize to filamentous apices, while exogenous Arabidopsis PINs distribute symmetrically on the membrane in both bryophytes. In Arabidopsis root epidermis, bryophytic PINs show no defined polarity. Pharmacological interference revealed a strong cytoskeleton dependence of bryophytic but not Arabidopsis PIN polarization. The divergence of PIN polarization and trafficking is also observed within the bryophyte clade and between tissues of individual species. These results collectively reveal a divergence of PIN trafficking and polarity mechanisms throughout land plant evolution and a co-evolution of PIN sequence-based and cell-based polarity mechanisms.

BARD1 (BRCA1 associated RING domain protein 1), as an important animal tumor suppressor gene associated with many kinds of cancers, has been intensively studied for decades. Surprisingly, homolog of BARD1 was found in plants and it was renamed AtROW1 (repressor of Wuschel-1) according to its extremely important function with regard to plant stem cell homeostasis. Although great advances have been made in human BARD1, the function of this animal tumor-suppressor like gene in plant is not well studied and need to be further elucidated. Here, we review and summarize past and present work regarding this protein. Apart from its previously proposed role in DNA repair, recently it is found essential for shoot and root stem cell development and differentiation in plants. The study of AtROW1 in plant may provide an ideal model for further elucidating the functional mechanism of BARD1 in mammals.

C3 glomerulonephritis (C3GN) results from genetic or acquired dysregulation of the alternative complement pathway. A subset of patients may have clinical and biochemical characteristics compatible with an autoimmune disorder. We studied a cohort of 85 patients with confirmed C3GN (2007–2014), of which ten patients (3 male, 7 female; mean age 38.5 years) had an associated autoimmune disorder. All patients had abnormal ANA titers, 6 also had positive ds-DNA titers. At the time of presentation with C3GN, all 7 female patients had autoimmune-related presentations. Of the 3 male patients, only 1 patient had autoimmune-related presentations. Kidney biopsy showed predominantly mesangial proliferative or membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis. In 5 patients, the alternative pathway was evaluated. All had allele variants/polymorphisms associated with C3GN. One patient was also positive for C3Nefs. Treatment varied form conservative management to the use of prednisone alone or with cytotoxic therapy. Mean serum creatinine decreased from 2.0 to 1.4 mg/dL while proteinuria decreased from 2300 to 994 mg/24 h in 8 patients with follow-up. The study highlights the association between C3GN and autoimmune disorders, particularly in female patients. The study suggests that an autoimmune milieu may act as a trigger for the development of C3GN in genetically susceptible patients. Short-term prognosis of C3GN associated with autoimmune disorders appears excellent.

Kidney diseases resulting from abnormal control of the complement alternative pathway include atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome, C3 glomerulonephritis, and dense-deposit disease, as well as atypical postinfectious glomerulonephritis. Although clinically diverse, they all result from loss of surface or fluid-phase complement control, caused by acquired or genetic defects in the complement alternative pathway. As such, the diagnostic approach is similar and includes a comprehensive biochemical, genetic, and pathologic analysis of the complement pathway. The biochemical test battery includes functional activity measurements of the entire complement pathway, functional and quantitative analysis of individual components and regulators, and quantification of activation products. In patients with a thrombotic microangiopathy, ADAMTS-13 activity should be determined to exclude a thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura. The spectrum of genes currently known to be involved in the pathogenesis of alternative pathway disorders is rapidly expanding. Pathologic analysis of a kidney biopsy specimen is sophisticated with ad hocimmunofluorescence studies and laser microdissection with mass spectrometry. The identification of the underlying defect in the alternative pathway based on this comprehensive analysis will allow treatment to be directed to the site of dysregulation.

C3 glomerulonephritis (GN) is a proliferative GN resulting from glomerular deposition of complement factors due to dysregulation of the alternative pathway of complement. Dysregulation of the alternative pathway of complement may occur as a result of mutations or functional inhibition of complement-regulating proteins. Functional inhibition of the complement-regulating proteins may result from a monoclonal gammopathy.

Complement dysregulation leads to atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome (aHUS), while ADAMTS13 deficiency causes thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura. We investigated whether genetic variations in the ADAMTS13 gene partially explain the reduced activity known to occur in some patients with aHUS. We measured complement activity and ADAMTS13 function, and completed mutation screening of multiple complement genes and ADAMTS13 in a large cohort of aHUS patients. In over 50% of patients we identified complement gene mutations. Surprisingly, 80% of patients also carried at least 1 nonsynonymous change in ADAMTS13, and in 38% of patients, multiple ADAMTS13 variations were found. Six of the 9 amino acid substitutions in ADAMTS13 were common single nucleotide polymorphisms; however, 3 variants—A747V, V832M, and R1096H— were rare, with minor allele frequencies of 0.0094%, 0.5%, and 0.32%, respectively. Reduced complement and ADAMTS13 activity (<60% of normal activity) were found in over 60% and 50% of patients, respectively. We concluded that partial ADAMTS13 deficiency is a common finding in aHUS patients and that genetic screening and functional tests of ADAMTS13 should be considered in these patients.

Genetic causes of focal and segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) typically involve mutations and allele variants of genes expressed in podocytes or, more rarely, glomerular basement membranes. In this report, we describe a 60-year-old woman with chronic kidney disease whose kidney biopsy showed FSGS. Immunoglobulins and C3 were undetectable in immunofluorescence studies. Electron microscopy showed subendothelial fluffy granular material with occasional double-contour formation suggestive of capillary wall injury and prompting work-up for a prothrombotic state. Evaluation of the alternative pathway of complement showed a novel polymorphism in short consensus repeat (SCR) 12 of complement factor H (CFH; c.2195CT, p.Thr732Met) and a previously reported but largely uncharacterized polymorphism in complement factor C3 (c.463AC, p.Lys155Gln). Dysregulation of the alternative pathway is associated with atypical hemolytic syndrome and dense deposit disease, but heretofore has not been associated with FSGS. This case highlights the expanding spectrum of complement-mediated glomerular disease and shows that FSGS with features of capillary wall injury should prompt evaluation for abnormalities in the alternative pathway. This case also expands the list of genetic polymorphisms that can be associated with an FSGS phenotype.

Previous methods of distributed Gibbs sampling for LDA run into either memory or communication bottlenecks. To improve scalability, we propose four strategies: data placement, pipeline processing, word bundling, and priority-based scheduling. Experiments show that our strategies significantly reduce the unparallelizable communication bottleneck and achieve good load balancing, and hence improve scalability of LDA.

The rough set theory provides a powerful approach for attributes reduction and data analysis. The variable precision rough set (VPRS) model, an extension of the original rough set approach, tolerates misclassifications of the training data to some degree, which promotes the applications of rough set theory in inconsistent information systems. However, in most existing algorithms of feature reduction based on VPRS, the precision parameter ( β ) is introduced as prior knowledge, which restricts their applications because it is not clear how to set the β value. By studying β -consistency in the measurement of a decision table and the threshold value of the β -consistent decision table, this paper presents an algorithm for automatic determination of the precision parameter value from a decision table based on VPRS. At the same time, the precision parameter value from our proposed method is compared with the thresholds from the decision-theoretic rough set (DTRS). The influences of the precision parameter are also discussed on attribute reduction, which shows the necessity of the estimated precision parameter from a decision table. The simulation results including VPRS and other classification methods in real data further indicate that different precision parameter values make a great difference on rules and setting a precise parameter near the threshold value of the β -consistent decision table can precisely reflect the decision distribution of the decision table.
