The amount of product and service information available to B2B customers—reports, blogs, display ads, email marketing, and more—has become overwhelming, leading to indecision and a sharply reduced likelihood of making a substantive purchase. The best reps have turned this conundrum into a prime selling opportunity. Above all else, they help buyers make sense of the information they’ve encountered. Their approach is a form of sense- making, and it encompasses three broad activities. Sensemaking sellers connect customers with relevant resources, curating the information they share for utility and clarity and including only what will help customers proceed with confidence. Collaborative filtering (CF) is the prevalent solution to mitigate massive information overload in modern recommender systems. However, it usually suffers from data sparsity and popularity bias problems. Existing studies exploit auxiliary information or data augmentation, requiring additional data collection or expensive computational overheads. Inspired by Mixup used in the classification problem, we propose a simple-yet-effective data augmentation method for CF, namely Collaborative Mixup (CoMix), for implicit feedback datasets. The underlying idea of CoMix is to generate virtual users/items by logically combining random users/items. Unlike the original Mixup, we synthesize virtual users/items to complement weak collaborative signals by distinguishing the intersection and non-overlapping parts between two users/items. Purpose: In the era of information overload, the density of tourism information and the increasingly sophisticated information needs of consumers have created information confusion for tourists and scenic-area managers. The study aims to help scenic-area managers determine the strengths and weaknesses in the development process of scenic areas and to solve the practical problem of tourists' difficulty in quickly and accurately obtaining the destination image of a scenic area and finding a scenic area that meets their needs. Design/methodology/approach: The study uses a variety of machine learning methods, namely, the latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) theme extraction model, term frequency-inverse document frequency (TF-IDF) weighting method and sentiment analysis. This work also incorporates probabilistic hesitant fuzzy algorithm (PHFA) in multi-attribute decision-making to form an enhanced tourism destination image mining and analysis model based on visitor expression information. The model is intended to help managers and visitors identify the strengths and weaknesses in the development of scenic areas. Jiuzhaigou is used as an example for empirical analysis. Findings: In the study, a complete model for the mining analysis of tourism destination image was constructed, and 24,222 online reviews on Jiuzhaigou, China were analyzed in text. The results revealed a total of 10 attributes and 100 attribute elements. From the identified attributes, three negative attributes were identified, namely, crowdedness, tourism cost and accommodation environment. The study provides suggestions for tourists to select attractions and offers recommendations and improvement measures for Jiuzhaigou in terms of crowd control and post-disaster reconstruction. Originality/value: Previous research in this area has used small sample data for qualitative analysis. Thus, the current study fills this gap in the literature by proposing a machine learning method that incorporates PHFA through the combination of the ideas of management and multi-attribute decision theory. In addition, the study considers visitors' emotions and thematic preferences from the perspective of their expressed information, based on which the tourism destination image is analyzed. Purpose: This paper aims to present the basic assumptions for creation of social Fröhlich condensate and attract attention of other researchers (both from physics and socio-political science) to the problem of modeling of stability and order preservation in highly energetic society coupled with social energy bath of high temperature. Design/methodology/approach: The model of social Fröhlich condensation and its analysis are based on the mathematical formalism of quantum thermodynamics and field theory (applied outside of physics). Findings: The presented quantum-like model provides the consistent operational model of such complex socio-political phenomenon as Fröhlich condensation. Research limitations/implications: The model of social Fröhlich condensation is heavily based on theory of open quantum systems. Its consistent elaboration needs additional efforts. Practical implications: Evidence of such phenomenon as social Fröhlich condensation is demonstrated by stability of modern informationally open societies. Social implications: Approaching the state of Fröhlich condensation is the powerful source of social stability. Understanding its informational structure and origin may help to stabilize the modern society. Recommender systems provide personalized content from various choices by mining users' past preferences. Recommendation helps to overcome the information overload problem as the available alternatives consume a large amount of data. In some applications, a group of people are involved in the process of generating a recommendation. This paper focuses on "automatically detected groups" formation for order and flexible preferences in group recommendation using locality-sensitive hashing. The MinHash technique is applied on a characteristic matrix to generate the signature matrix. The signature matrix is the reduced representation of the characteristic matrix and preserves the Jaccard similarity to a great extent. Locality-sensitive hashing is applied on the signature matrix to determine similar users efficiently. Similar users will be the members of an automatically identified group. Therefore, the group members are maximally satisfied with recommended items. This work also studies the performance of benchmark clustering approaches in group formation. Recommender systems offer an efficient solution to the problem of information overload, which is exacerbated by the rapid expansion of data. Context-aware recommender systems (CARS) have become prominent, incorporating contextual information to provide more desirable recommendations. While the dimension of contextual information rises, the complexity of algorithms increases as well, highlighting the data sparsity problem. In this paper, we propose CTITF, a novel tensor factorization model that incorporates constrained user bidirectional trust and implicit feedback. First, CTITF distinguishes the roles of trust networks in terms of the directionality of trust relationships: the trustor and the trustee. CTITF then constructs trust influences and biases for both roles to linearly represent user preferences. Furthermore, CTITF improves the rating prediction function and recommendation objective function based on CP factorization. Finally, CTITF filters out trust relationships where users do not have the same history items. It also uses contextual information to limit the amount of implicit feedback, addressing the issue of high time complexity. Experiments on two real-world datasets illustrate that the proposed model outperforms previous TF-based models and social recommender systems in terms of rating prediction accuracy. The SummDial special session on summarization of dialogues and multi-party meetings was held virtually within the SIGDial 2021 conference on July 29, 2021. SummDial @ SIGDial 2021 aimed to bring together the speech, dialogue, and summarization communities to foster cross-pollination of ideas and fuel the discussions/collaborations to attempt this crucial and timely problem. When the pandemic has restricted most of our in-person interactions, the current scenario has forced people to go virtual, resulting in an information overload from frequent dialogues and meetings in the virtual environment. Summarization could help reduce the cognitive burden on the participants; however, multi-party speech summarization comes with its own set of challenges. The SummDial special session aimed to leverage the community intelligence to find effective solutions while also brainstorming the future of AI interventions in meetings and dialogues.
