Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Ottawa explored the ideal intervention for cancer-related fatigue (CrF) from the perspectives of healthcare providers, community support providers, and cancer patients. The study found that participants believed an intervention for CrF should be accessible to everyone and provided early and frequently throughout the cancer experience. Potential interventions discussed included peer support, psychoeducation, physical activity, mind-body interventions, and interdisciplinary care. The study also identified barriers to implementation, such as patient variability, accessibility, and lack of healthcare provider knowledge. The findings of this study lay the groundwork for the development of a patient-centered intervention for CrF in Canada and potentially other countries. [Extracted from the article]
