Purpose: Questionnaire studies of knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) are effective research in the field of health, which have many shortcomings. The purpose of this research is to propose an automatic questionnaire-free method based on deep learning techniques to address the shortcomings of common methods. Next, the aim of this research is to use the proposed method with public comments on Twitter to get the gaps in KAP of people regarding COVID-19. Design/methodology/approach: In this paper, two models are proposed to achieve the mentioned purposes, the first one for attitude and the other for people's knowledge and practice. First, the authors collect some tweets from Twitter and label them. After that, the authors preprocess the collected textual data. Then, the text representation vector for each tweet is extracted using BERT-BiGRU or XLNet-GRU. Finally, for the knowledge and practice problem, a multi-label classifier with 16 classes representing health guidelines is proposed. Also, for the attitude problem, a multi-class classifier with three classes (positive, negative and neutral) is proposed. Findings: Labeling quality has a direct relationship with the performance of the final model, the authors calculated the inter-rater reliability using the Krippendorf alpha coefficient, which shows the reliability of the assessment in both problems. In the problem of knowledge and practice, 87% and in the problem of people's attitude, 95% agreement was reached. The high agreement obtained indicates the reliability of the dataset and warrants the assessment. The proposed models in both problems were evaluated with some metrics, which shows that both proposed models perform better than the common methods. Our analyses for KAP are more efficient than questionnaire methods. Our method has solved many shortcomings of questionnaires, the most important of which is increasing the speed of evaluation, increasing the studied population and receiving reliable opinions to get accurate results. Research limitations/implications: Our research is based on social network datasets. This data cannot provide the possibility to discover the public information of users definitively. Addressing this limitation can have a lot of complexity and little certainty, so in this research, the authors presented our final analysis independent of the public information of users. Practical implications: Combining recurrent neural networks with methods based on the attention mechanism improves the performance of the model and solves the need for large training data. Also, using these methods is effective in the process of improving the implementation of KAP research and eliminating its shortcomings. These results can be used in other text processing tasks and cause their improvement. The results of the analysis on the attitude, practice and knowledge of people regarding the health guidelines lead to the effective planning and implementation of health decisions and interventions and required training by health institutions. The results of this research show the effective relationship between attitude, practice and knowledge. People are better at following health guidelines than being aware of COVID-19. Despite many tensions during the epidemic, most people still discuss the issue with a positive attitude. Originality/value: To the best of our knowledge, so far, no text processing-based method has been proposed to perform KAP research. Also, our method benefits from the most valuable data of today's era (i.e. social networks), which is the expression of people's experiences, facts and free opinions. Therefore, our final analysis provides more realistic results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: The convenience of online shopping enables the manufacturer to develop direct channels. To counter manufacturer encroachment, the retailer tends to provide presale service to attract more customers. Meanwhile, the service provided by the retailer also has a positive impact on the manufacturer's sale volume, which is usually called the showrooming effect or free-ride. The purpose of this paper is to explore the dynamic game of pricing and service strategy in a dual-channel supply chain with risk attitudes and free-ride. Design/methodology/approach: This paper considers the risk attitude, characterized by mean-variance theory. First, the optimal pricing and service strategy of two static models under two scenarios are derived. Second, dynamic games are then considered to explore the evolution of the decisions. The classical optimization method is used to solve the problem, and numerical experiments are done to analyze the complex characteristic of the system. Findings: The result shows that the retailer is willing to provide a higher level of service if his risk preference is higher. The offline retail price and online retail price are positively related to the retailer's risk preference. Besides, the free-ride behavior can reduce the offline retail price and the level of service provided by the retailer. Furthermore, the study indicates that the system is more likely to enter chaos if the retailer's risk preference is higher. Additionally, consumers' service sensitivity and cost coefficient affect the stability of the system. Originality/value: The study provides a different perspective on supply chain management considering risk attitudes and free-ride The findings of the study can offer theoretical and practical guidance for enterprises to choose adjustment measures according to their risk preference. Purpose: To trace a shift in attitudes towards control since the mid-twentieth century, as reflected in a shift in rhetoric that accompanied the extension from first- to second-order cybernetics. Design/methodology/approach: Narratives of exploration that have emerged from NASA's lunar programme and recent design cybernetics are juxtaposed to show a transition away from the legitimisation of goal-oriented decision-making and control towards advocacy of partial control avoidance and accommodation of the unanticipated. Findings: Contemporary cybernetic theory recognises the importance of both the partial presence and the partial absence of control in creative epistemic practice. It is thus unsurprising that, according to historical records, NASA's journey to the moon was enabled not only by the assurance of control but also by lapses of control. However, NASA's rhetorical posture during the race to the moon focused on predictable control and goal orientation, differing notably from the recent design-cybernetic openness towards uncertainty, error, and serendipity. This difference is encapsulated by the "Failure is not an option" dictum that was associated with NASA's lunar programme and the "Try Again. Fail Again. Fail Better" equivalent associated with design cybernetics. Recognition of the more recent cybernetic perspective is impeded by its continuing omission from narratives of earlier cybernetic accomplishments. Research limitations/implications: To the extent that narratives examined in this paper refer to exceptional initiatives and spontaneous events, the repeatability and generalisability of the presented argument are limited. Originality/value: The paper highlights changing cybernetic narratives of creative invention by examining how spontaneous changes in variety were reported to have been addressed in NASA's lunar programme, and how recent cybernetic design theory suggests they should be addressed. When designing and evaluating policies and projects for women's empowerment, appropriate indicators are needed. This paper reports on the lessons learned from two rounds of pretesting and cognitive testing of the project-level Women's Empowerment in Agriculture Index (pro-WEAI) in a total of five States/Regions in Myanmar. We assess if respondents understand the modules as intended and which questions require modification based on the cultural context. We find that the questions also present in the abbreviated WEAI are generally well understood, particularly on instrumental and group agency. The challenge to respond to hypothetical and abstract questions did become apparent in the domains representing intrinsic agency, and was problematic for questions on autonomy and self-efficacy. Also, the internationally validated questions on attitudes towards domestic violence were too abstract, and responses depend on the scenario envisioned. We also suggest including an adapted version of the module on speaking up in public, to reinforce the domain on collective agency. Our findings provide an encouraging message to those aspiring to use pro-WEAI, but emphasize the need for continued attention for context-specific adjustments and critical testing of even those instruments that are widely used and deemed validated. A report from Nanjing Normal University explores the topic of organizational shamanism in Northeast China. The study highlights the double identities of shamans and the dualistic attitudes of the Chinese authorities towards shamanism. The research reveals that organizational shamanism has provided traditional shamans with a modernized and globalized platform to connect with the outside world, gaining empowerment and legitimacy. It also demonstrates the role of organizational shamanism in negotiating with political authorities and linking local traditions with global discourse. The study suggests that the traditional eco-cosmological relationship with natural forces has transformed into a cosmopolitical form for shamans, engaging with the outside world, global currency, and political forces. This paper addresses the attitude coordination control problem of spacecraft formation on S O (3) with attitude constraints and stochastic uncertainties. To achieve the control objective, the attitude coordination control law is designed based on the behavioral formation approach and the modified super-twisting control techniques. The sufficient conditions are given for the closed-loop stochastic SFF system to reach the mean square bounded attitude coordination without breaking the attitude constraints. These conditions clearly indicate the way to select the control law parameters, which is convenient in practice. Under these conditions, upper bounds of the system state errors are explicitly estimated, which depends on the stochastic uncertainties, the behavior weights, and the control law parameters. Simulation results verify the applicability and effectiveness of the proposed control law. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Sentiment analysis on social networks mines users' opinions, emotions, and attitudes to derive useful insights into community opinions and can improve the sales strategies of e-commerce platforms. Existing sentiment analysis methods are primarily based on complex user social relations and text data. However, they only use social relations among users and ignore the interactions of user sentiment orientation. In this paper, we designed a novel USON model to learn user sentiment orientation in social networks that fuses the interaction of users and their opinions. We define the score of the user sentiment orientation according to the sentiment polarity distribution of the opinion datasets. Then, we rebuilt a user social network, which is an attribute network with scores of user sentiment orientation as node attributes and social relations as edges. Finally, we integrated user representations with opinion representations for sentiment analysis. Experimental results on Amazon and Yelp show that the performance of our proposed model is significantly higher than that of state-of-the-art methods. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Texting while driving is a dangerous practice becoming increasingly common, especially among young people. This paper aims to understand the role of social marketing communication in affecting people's driving behaviors. The presented research compares the effectiveness of different social communication styles (traditional or shock), formats (text images, images, community initiatives and videos) and media (TV, radio, leaflet, poster, web, social networks) in influencing the use of a smartphone while driving. We found that shock advertising has a significant impact on drivers' intentions about whether or not to use portable communication devices (i.e. smartphones, tablets) while driving. We also found that this impact especially counts for women. Both risk self-assessment and risk propensity improve after exposure to social advertisement. The strongest impact on recipients is achieved through shock advertising when broadcasted through online videos. Video advertising campaigns are also more likely to be shared than others on social networks, especially in the shock style advertisement. Finally, advertising through television and social media appear to have the highest impact on drivers' behaviors. This paper offers some insights on how to design effective social communication strategies in order to affect drivers' behaviors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, a novel control scheme, which includes an improved fast finite-time adaptive backstepping controller based on a newly designed adaptive smooth disturbance observer, is presented for the attitude tracking of a small unmanned helicopter system subject to lumped disturbances. First, an adaptive smooth disturbance observer (ASDO) is proposed to approximate the lumped disturbances, which owns the characteristics of smooth output, fast finite-time convergence, and adaptability to disturbances. Then, a finite-time backstepping control protocol is constructed to achieve the attitude tracking objective. By virtue of our newly proposed inequality, a singularity-free virtual control law is designed. To tackle the "explosion of complexity" problem, a fast finite-time command filter (FFTCF) is utilized to estimate the virtual control signals and their derivatives. In addition, an auxiliary dynamic system is introduced to attenuate the impact of the errors caused by FFTCF estimation. Moreover, an adaptive law with σ -modification term is developed to compensate the ASDO approximation error. Theoretical analysis proves that all signals of the closed-loop system are fast finite-time bounded, while the attitude tracking errors fast converge to a small region of the origin in finite time. Finally, two contrastive numerical simulations are carried out to validate the effectiveness and superiority of the designed control scheme. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

BUSINESS partnerships ,BUSINESSPEOPLE ,BUSINESS ethics ,UTILITARIANISM ,ATTITUDE (Psychology) - Abstract
Purpose – The new concept of business partner behavior sharing practice is addressed from three perspectives: technical/technological, legal and ethical/moral with the aim to elaborate its sharing feasibility, value added, legal restrictions and moral considerations. Research results are synthetized to present an overview on business partners behavior sharing direct and indirect value added, costs and risks and proposing mitigation strategies. The paper aims to discuss these issues. Design/methodology/approach – To evaluate technical feasibility, a real-life sharing experiment is conducted. Using a sharing agency data are collected, summarized and reported. For the purpose of legal evaluation, relevant legislation is analyzed. Ethicality/morality is assessed utilizing theoretical applied-ethics analysis. Two major normative moral theories – teleology and deontology – are selected for this purpose. The synthesis of the research results is represented in system dynamics model. Findings – Results show no significant technical obstacles for the systematic business partner behavior sharing. Also, no major legal or ethical arguments against it are found, although some important conditions are identified that have to be met in order for the practice to be performed legally and to be qualified as ethical/moral. Research limitations/implications – Analysis of legality is limited to the EU and legislation of the Republic of Slovenia. Ethicality of the practice is assessed from the utilitarian and rights perspectives. Practical implications – Important technical, legal and ethical insights into business partner behavior sharing concepts and practices are provided. Originality/value – To the authors’ knowledge, this is the first time that the practice of business partner behavior sharing is addressed simultaneously from technical, legal and ethical perspectives using a real-life experiment. Therefore it is an important contribution to a more holistic account/insight of/into such a business practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The development of soft robots provides better possibilities on attitude bionic motion for bionic mechanisms, but there are strong nonlinear challenges in attitude control such as modeling difficulties and external interference caused by soft materials, application environments and so on. This paper presents an attitude control method using a differential flatness theory and a super-twisting algorithm for control problems of strong nonlinear and underactuated for a pneumatic driven bionic soft-robotic-ray which is driven by dozen bionic soft pneumatic actuated fins. A dynamic flatness system is obtained and proved for the bionic soft pneumatic actuated fins by kinematic model and the differential flatness theory, respectively. A desired output solver is designed to calculate desired spatial position for each bionic soft pneumatic actuated fin under desired undulatory attitude of the bionic soft-robotic-ray. Using the super-twisting algorithm, a sliding-mode-controller based on an extended-state-observer is designed to realize the desired spatial position tracking control for each bionic soft pneumatic actuated fin. Finite-time stabilization of the dynamic flatness system under the introduced attitude control method is proved via a Lyapunov method. Simulations are carried out to verify the availability of the attitude control method applied to the bionic soft-robotic-ray. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SOCIAL systems ,ECOLOGY ,CITIZENSHIP ,SOCIAL structure ,ATTITUDE (Psychology) - Abstract
Purpose – The assumption of ecological thinking as a main ideology for social systems implies many relevant changes concerning the relation between social and ecological systems. Changes meaning a deep redefinition of goals and strategies pursued for centuries by human communities, like the uncertainty reduction in relation to resources' availability and management, defence respect to variance in ecological system's as well as its constraint within social systems themselves. The paper aims to discuss these issues. Design/methodology/approach – An analysis of literature and critic perspectives allows to highlight different aspects of the imagined transition toward an ecologically informed social organisation. Some considerations will be presented about obstacles to change in social systems as well as about the different levels of response to solicitations coming from ecological thinking and ecological issues. Findings – Many of the considered theoretical proposals lead to assume that those solicitations and the subsequent responses would impact directly on fundamental sets of rights and freedoms, today considered as untouchable. Research limitations/implications – The establishment of an ecological state – at least as described here – even if it appears as a desirable perspective, it would pass through a re-design of the concept of citizenship as well as of the relation between individuals and social institutions. Originality/value – The paper tries a definition of the main theoretical topics to be assessed, hoping they may be a useful base for future search. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A recent study conducted by researchers from the University of Limerick in Ireland explored attitudes towards cervical self-sampling for HPV. The study found that while cervical cancer screening has the potential to save lives, it can also cause anxiety and self-stigma. The researchers developed a product-service-system called NALA, which allows for self-sampling for HPV via menstrual blood and provides information on HPV, cervical cancer, and screening. The study concludes with suggestions for further research in the area of digital design for women's health. [Extracted from the article]

• Flexible spacecraft Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy attitude control system is studied. • The signal quantization is considered. • The external disturbance and actuator input dead-zone are considered. • A quantized adaptive fuzzy integral sliding mode control strategy is presented. This paper addresses the sliding mode control design problem for the flexible spacecraft attitude tracking control system with Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model based method. In this design, the external disturbance and actuator input dead-zone are considered simultaneously, and the signals between sensors and controller are quantized before transmission over digital communication channels. A quantized adaptive integral sliding mode control law is proposed to ensure that the sliding motion is globally asymptotically stable, and the effects of unknown external disturbances, actuator nonlinearity and quantization errors are compensated via the online adaptive mechanism simultaneously. Moreover, under the proposed digital control law the finite-time reachability of the designed sliding surface can be guaranteed strictly. Finally, simulation results are presented to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the developed quantized spacecraft attitude control method. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
