This final movement explores whether thinking with re-arrangements can help us account for that which is hidden, unseen or nested in the recesses and folds of urban practices. And if so, how we might then talk about and account for elusive parts of an arrangement that both exert an influence and are influenced. This essay uses sensibilities as an entry point into the intangible interactions between subjects and (re)arrangements.

The third movement explores how (re)arrangements are made and re-worked as people navigate fractured, ever-shifting landscapes of urban opportunity, conflict and uncertainty. Drawing on fieldwork in Paris, Mogadishu and Abidjan, we point to the fragile, collective and anticipatory knowledges accumulated during navigations, and to how these knowledges become contained within and (re)constitute embodied archives.

The fourth movement explores the temporal relationship between arrangements and re-arrangements, addressing the question of how an obdurate and ‘sticky’ temporal order may give way to palpable re-arrangement of the ways in which subjects experience time. Eschewing a concern with linear homogenous time, it addresses the processes of re-arrangement by understanding the dynamics of grave events, hauntings of the past, subtly changing rhythms of everyday life, and the force of potential futures in synchrony.

The second movement considers (re)arrangements as projects of formalization that seek to impose and even fix a form to spaces historically constructed as marginal. This impositional arrangement operates as a governmental desire to fix a form by re-signifying both subjects and spaces.

This movement introduces the ethos of the collective project: its conceptual and practical preoccupations. It focuses on our concern with urban processes on the cusp of change, in the midst of being re-arranged, and thus homes in on the various polyrhythms of intersections, how things come together and diverge, how possibilities open and close in urban contexts of continuously shifting horizons.

This article ́s goal is to analyse conceptions of teaching of history for secundary education, which circulated in the contexts of the First Republic and the curriculum reform of 1951. Considering theoretical-methodological references of cultural history and the curriculum, we studied the educational legislation and teaching programs in order to reflect about the texts written by teachers Mello e Souza and Vicente Tapajós. By supporting, respectively, The History as the nationalist character shaper and the democratic citizen former, those teachers presented some ideas which portray political disputes around the curriculum furthermore sought to forge students' worldviews and sensibilities during school educational processes., O objetivo deste artigo é analisar concepções de ensino de História para o ensino secundário que circularam nos contextos da Primeira República e da reforma curricular de 1951. Dialogando com referenciais teórico-metodológicos da história cultural e do currículo, estudamos a legislação educacional e programas de ensino para refletirmos sobre textos produzidos pelos professores Mello e Souza e Vicente Tapajós. Ao defenderem, respectivamente, a História como modeladora do caráter nacionalista e formadora do cidadão democrático, tais sujeitos apresentaram ideias que tanto retratam disputas políticas em torno do currículo quanto procuravam forjar visões de mundo e sensibilidades dos estudantes durante os processos educativos escolares., El objetivo de este artículo es analizar conceptos de la enseñanza de la Historia para la educación secundaria que circularon en los contextos de la Primera República y de la reforma curricular de 1951. Dialogando con referentes teóricos y metodológicos de la historia cultural y curricular, investigamos la legislación educativa y programas de enseñanza para reflexionar sobre textos producidos por los profesores Mello e Souza y Vicente Tapajós. Defendiendo, respectivamente, la Historia como modelo para el carácter nacionalista y para la formación de ciudadanos democráticos, dichos sujetos presentaron ideas que tanto retratan disputas políticas en torno del currículo cuánto buscaron forjar las visiones del mundo y las sensibilidades de los estudiantes durante los procesos educativos escolares.

The objective of this paper is to recognize the multiple facets of sub-existence and/or subsistence of aesthetic experiences in the contexts of Early Childhood Education, realizing the possibilities that children find for understanding of self and the other and to express and share experiences, ideas and questions. The research is based on a qualitative approach of hermeneutic and criticism, supported in the logbook and observational experiences as collection instruments. The argument considers the complexity of childhoods and the necessary aesthetic transgression to understand the richness and uniqueness of the expressive language that children carry. In the daily life of Early Childhood Education, the manifestations of children, although not recognized by the teacher, persist as details that are navigating outside the expectations of a well-established curricular practice., Este artigo tem como objetivo principal reconhecer as múltiplas facetas de sub-existência e/ou subsistência das experiências estéticas nos contextos de Educação Infantil, percebendo as possibilidades que as crianças encontram para a compreensão de si e do outro e para manifestar e compartilhar vivências, ideias e questionamentos. A pesquisa segue a abordagem qualitativa de cunho hermenêutico e crítico, tendo como instrumentos de coleta o diário de bordo e as experiências de observações. A argumentação considera a complexidade das infâncias e a necessária transgressão estética para a compreensão da riqueza e singularidade da linguagem expressiva que as crianças carregam. No cotidiano da Educação Infantil, as manifestações das crianças, ainda que não reconhecidas pela professora, persistem como detalhes que navegam à margem das expectativas de uma prática curricular sedimentada.

Unraveling contemporary corporeal and emotional processes as a result of a series of multiscale technological and scientific colonizations is what Adrián Scribano's most recent book offers us: Colonization of the inner planet. In it, we find a route that without historiographic pretensions places us in a present – albeit dynamic – capable of explaining the cognitive, sensory and affective conquests, even hormonal and molecular, that capitalism has achieved in the 21st century, through mechanisms extractivists and consumer devices as [global] politics of the senses, sensibilities and morals. It is a theoretical-analytical proposal with an intersectional, antispeciesist and decolonial perspective with which to examine the colonization processes of humans and account for their possibilities of action., Desentrañar procesos corporales y emocionales contemporáneos como resultado de una serie de colonizaciones tecnológicas y científicas multiescalares es lo que nos ofrece el libro más reciente de Adrián Scribano: Colonization of the inner planet. En él, encontramos un recorrido que sin pretensiones historiográficas nos ubica en un presente –si bien dinámico– capaz de explicar las conquistas cognitivas, sensoriales y afectivas, incluso hormonales y moleculares, que el capitalismo ha alcanzado en el Siglo XXI, a través de mecanismos extractivistas y dispositivos de consumo como política [global] de los sentidos, las sensibilidades y la moral. Se trata de una propuesta teórico-analítica con perspectiva interseccional, antiespecista y decolonial con la cual examinar los procesos de colonización de los humanos y dar cuenta de sus posibilidades de acción.

The main objective of this writing is to present some reflections on the connections between emotions and eating as a social act. For this, the relationship between the senses, the body and the emotions is presented, focusing on the non-possibility of separation between bodies/emotions and taste as the main sense that exposes this link in the body/world connection. As more relevant conclusions, we argue that bodies/emotions exist in connection with the environment from the processes that occur in the interaction between the brain, the central nervous system, nutrients, energies and the uneven distribution of nutrients. Since the sense of taste exposes social classifications at the same time as the geopolitically unequal distribution of the energy required for the reproduction of bodies, it becomes central to emphasize the senses and the various forms of regulation, to make the connections between bodies/emotions/feeding/eating visible., El objetivo principal de este escrito es presentar algunas reflexiones en torno a las conexiones entre las emociones y el comer como acto social. Para ello se presenta la interconexión entre los sentidos, el cuerpo y las emociones, poniendo el foco en la no posibilidad de separación entre cuerpos/emociones y en el gusto como sentido principal que expone este vínculo en la conexión cuerpo/mundo. Como conclusiones más relevantes sostenemos que los cuerpos/emociones existen en conexión con el entorno/ambiente a partir de los procesos que se dan en la interacción entre el cerebro, el sistema nervioso central, los nutrientes, las energías y la distribución desigual de nutrientes. Ya que el sentido del gusto expone las clasificaciones sociales a la vez que la distribución geopolíticamente desigual de la energía requerida para la reproducción de los cuerpos, se vuelve central hacer hincapié en los sentidos y en las diversas formas de regulación, para hacer visible las conexiones entre cuerpos/emociones/alimentación/comer.

This article examines some connections between sensibilities policies and racialization practices. Taking the problem of afrodescendants in Argentina as a study case, the general purpose is to discuss about sensibilities, understood as structures of feeling that translate the plots of social domination into everyday life. From this perspective, we analyze how the sensibilities intercede in the racialization practices that accompany and make possible the capitalist development in their neo-colonial aspirations. This theoretical position implies considering that sensibilities regulate, among other aspects, racialized ways of observing / feeling / perceiving the world that subjects have, and that they are radically put into play in intercultural contexts.To achieve this objective, first, the theoretical-epistemic approach that guides the analysis is presented, discussing a set of analytical inflections that connect the practices of racialization with the policies of sensibilities. Then, based on a documentary-bibliographic analysis, the racial and social classifications operating in Argentina are explored, investigating the subalternity processes configured around the figure of the "black" from the emergence of the Nation State until today. We conclude that the “categorical manichaeism” prevailing in racial classifications, and the "negrification" of the subaltern world that has been consolidated since the mid-twentieth century, makes the discussion on interculturality relevant as an epistemic problem and political project., Este artículo indaga algunas conexiones entre políticas de las sensibilidades y prácticas de racialización. Tomando por caso la problemática de afrodescendientes en Argentina, el propósito general es ofrecer una discusión sobre las sensibilidades, entendidas como estructuras del sentir que traducen las tramas de la dominación social en la vida cotidiana. Desde esta perspectiva, interesa analizar cómo las sensibilidades interceden en las prácticas de racialización que acompañan y hacen posible el desarrollo capitalista en sus aspiraciones neocoloniales. Asumir este posicionamiento teórico supone considerar que las sensibilidades regulan, entre otros aspectos, los modos racializados de observar/sentir/percibir el mundo que tienen los sujetos, y que se ponen en juego en forma radical en contextos interculturales. Para alcanzar dicho objetivo, en primer lugar, se presenta el abordaje teórico-epistémico que orienta al análisis, discutiendo un conjunto de inflexiones analíticas que conectan las prácticas de racialización con las políticas de las sensibilidades. Seguidamente, con base en un análisis documental-bibliográfico, se exploran las clasificaciones raciales y sociales operantes en Argentina, indagando en los procesos de subalternidad configurados en torno a la figura del “negro” desde el surgimiento del Estado-Nación hasta la actualidad. Se concluye que el “maniqueísmo categorial” imperante en las clasificaciones raciales, junto con la “negrificación” del mundo subalterno que se afianza desde mediados del siglo XX, tornan relevante la discusión sobre la interculturalidad como problema epistémico y proyecto político.

This article addresses some questions about the history of Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. Through a number of articles published in the journal Correio do Estado, printed since the 1950’s, we will try to recover some everyday aspects of everyday life in this city, emphasizing the approaches which describe a part of the establishment and the existing commercial activities in Campo Grande from 1960 to 1970.

The present work intends to analyze the urban presence from the echoes and noises of the city, expressed in Lucrecia Martel’s short documentary La ciudad que huye (2006), and in the films Cara de queso – mi primer ghetto (2006) by Ariel Winograd, Una semana solos (2008) by Celina Murga, Las viudas de los jueves (2009) by Marcelo Piñeyro, Historia del miedo (2014) by Benjamín Naishtat, and Los decentes (2016) by Lukas Valenta Rinner, through the reverse of the city that is transformed into citadel, forged by a middle and upper class and under the context of neoliberal policies. The films appear as singular languages ​​that, interwoven in the light of technical documentation, the bibliography on cities and the understanding of the historical process of formation of the countries, help us to think and problematize the relations between sensibilities, sociabilities and contemporary urban space in this kind of “city that flees”., O presente trabalho se propõe a analisar a presença urbana a partir dos ecos e ruídos da cidade, expressos no curta documentário La ciudad que huye (2006), de Lucrecia Martel, e nos filmes Cara de queso – mi primer ghetto (2006) de Ariel Winograd, Una semana solos (2008) de Celina Murga, Las viudas de los jueves (2009) de Marcelo Piñeyro, Historia del miedo (2014) de Benjamín Naishtat, e Los decentes (2016) de Lukas Valenta Rinner, através do avesso da cidade que se transmuta em cidadela, forjada por uma classe média e alta e sob o contexto de políticas neoliberais. This article focuses on readings of cinematic works and practices that encompass the appropriation of elements of audiovisual and media culture from a dissident perspective. Based on the notions of “reparative reading” (Sedgwick, 2003), and “devotional melancholy” (Marks, 1997), regarding materials and media artifacts perceived as ruins or on the verge of disappearance, it also reassess previous analyses on cinephile and videophile practices among sexual minorities and their communities (Hallas, 2003; Hildebrand, 2004; 2009), and argues that such modes of acting and reflecting on the contemporary period are related to sensibilities based on the displacement and inventive appropriation of audiovisual and media repertoires., Neste artigo, proponho articular uma leitura de obras e práticas do campo cinematográfico que delineiam maneiras de apropriar-se de elementos da cultura audiovisual e midiática a partir de perspectivas dissidentes. Para tanto, tomo como base a noção de “leitura reparativa” (Sedgwick, 2003), bem como a “melancolia devocional” investida em materiais e suportes atravessados pela ruína ou em vias de desaparição (Marks, 1997). Busco recuperar ainda as análises sobre algumas dinâmicas cinéfilas e videófilas encampadas por comunidades sexuais minoritárias (Hallas, 2003; Hildebrand, 2004; 2009). Juntas, tais modalidades de atuação e reflexão sobre o contemporâneo afirmam sensibilidades fundadas no deslocamento e na apropriação inventiva de repertórios., En este artículo, propongo articular una lectura de obras y prácticas del campo cinematográfico que constituyen modos de apropiarse de elementos de la cultura audiovisual y mediática desde perspectivas disidentes. Para lo tanto, parto de la noción de “lectura reparativa” (Sedgwick, 2003), como también de la “melancolía devocional” con la cual se dotan los materiales y soportes marcados por la ruina o en vías de desaparición (Marks, 1997). Asimismo, recupero los análisis respecto de algunas dinámicas cinéfilas y videófilas llevadas a cabo por comunidades sexuales minoritarias (Hallas, 2003; Hildebrand, 2004; 2009). Juntas, dichas modalidades de actuación y reflexión sobre lo contemporáneo afirman sensibilidades fundadas en el desplazamiento y la apropiación inventiva de repertorios audiovisuales.

This article deals with Bodies/Emotions emerged after the earthquakes that occurred in Mexico in September, 2017. We considere a reflection on the interruption of the continuum of those conected environment of Bodies/Emotions. We try to show that a momentary suspensión provoked by the earthquakes turn into intermediate Bodies /Emotions of emergence and later disappearance. We care to show that the fracture of the places that were identities: gave way from fear to terror -during and immediately after the earthquakes-; and so, once the fatal dimensions of the earthquakes were collectively verified, the events promoted, above all, a kind of collective action that turns social sensitivities into exalts of the best of human beings., Este artículo aborda los cuerpos/emociones que emergieron tras los sismos ocurridos en México, en septiembre de 2017. Nos planteamos una reflexión sobre la interrupción del continuo de esos entornos conexos. Tratamos de mostrar que la suspensión momentánea provocada por los sismos hizo surgir y desaparecer cuerpos/emociones intermedios. Nos importa mostrar que la fractura de los lugares que eran identidades: dio paso del miedo, al terror -durante e inmediatamente después de los sismos-; y que, una vez que se comprobaban colectivamente las dimensiones fatales de los terremotos, los hechos impulsaron, sobre todo, a un tipo de acción colectiva vuelta sensibilidades sociales, que enaltece lo mejor de los seres humanos.

While mundane for the privileged few, passports, as discussed in the first part of this paper (DPP vol. 13, no. 2), are rather strong, thick and extensive devices of articulating, partitioning and producing possibilities of access, movement and inhabitations in the world. They have emerged from a certain intersection of social and material forces and continue to produce and provide new environments of power relations. It was proposed that these articulations are better to be renamed as passporting, which recognizes the regimes of practices involved in such environments beyond the single artifact of passport. Part II takes much further this analysis through proposing four lines of reading the passporting regime: materialities; sensibilities; part-taking; and translating. These lines, which point to the ontological qualities of passporting, can also be enacted for intervening into the passporting regime which articulates to the current hegemonic order of mobility. I trace such possible interventions in the acts of forgery of passports. Forgery uses, enables, dissents and rearticulates these very four lines of the passporting regime in other directions than the ones imagined by their initial design. By discussing the practices of passport forgery in relation to the passporting regime, this article offers a material and critical understanding of the notions of citizenship and nationality.

The Crown supported this reform, yet attempted to use it to reinforce its own jurisdiction, creating specific cases of confrontation, which, however, showed the fun- damental agreement between the representatives of both powers. In short, the reform elicited requests for exemption from the new norms, which show the importante of pealing and ringing for Novohispanic corporations together with an as yet independent criticism designed to reduce their presence in the public sphere., A lo largo del siglo XVIII, el episcopado novohispano intentó reformar el uso de las campanas imponiéndoles una disciplina jerárquica, introduciendo nuevas sensibilidades sonoras y reforzando el caracter sagrado de las campanas. La corona respaldó dicha reforma, pero procurando emplearla para reforzar su propia jurisdicción, generando casos puntuales de enfrentamiento, que muestran, sin embargo, los acuerdos fundamentales entre los representantes de ambas potestades. Este artículo avanza en la precisión teórica y metodológica de una estrategia de dramatización desarrollada en la correspondiente investigación doctoral. Se dedica a reconstruir algunos antecedentes de cruces entre antropología y teatro, pero también las perspectivas más amplias sobre la dimensión del cuerpo con las que aquellos antecedentes dialogan. Dentro de este marco, se pregunta por el potencial de los abordajes históricos de la educación en sensibilidades en los dispositivos escolares modernos. Se concluye con la necesidad de vincular la propuesta con las discusiones sobre investigación con infancias., This article deepens in the theoretical and methodological accuracy of a dramatization strategy developed in the corresponding doctoral research. It recollects some precedents of convergence between anthropology and theater, and also considers the wider perspectives on the body dimension that argue with those precedents. In this context, the potential of historical approaches in the education of sensibilities within modern schooling dispositions is questioned. Finally, it states the need to connect the proposal with further discussions about the research involving infants., Este artigo avança na precisão teórica e metodológica de uma estratégia de dramatização desenvolvida na correspondente pesquisa doutoral. During the l8th century, Novohispanic bishops tried to reform the use of bells by imposing a hierarchical discipline on them, by introducing new round sensibilities and reinforcing the sacred nature of bells. Este artículo avanza en la precisión teórica y metodológica de una estrategia de dramatización desarrollada en la correspondiente investigación doctoral. Se dedica a reconstruir algunos antecedentes de cruces entre antropología y teatro, pero también las perspectivas más amplias sobre la dimensión del cuerpo con las que aquellos antecedentes dialogan. Dentro de este marco, se pregunta por el potencial de los abordajes históricos de la educación en sensibilidades en los dispositivos escolares modernos. Se concluye con la necesidad de vincular la propuesta con las discusiones sobre investigación con infancias., This article deepens in the theoretical and methodological accuracy of a dramatization strategy developed in the corresponding doctoral research. It recollects some precedents of convergence between anthropology and theater, and also considers the wider perspectives on the body dimension that argue with those precedents. In this context, the potential of historical approaches in the education of sensibilities within modern schooling dispositions is questioned. Finally, it states the need to connect the proposal with further discussions about the research involving infants., Este artigo avança na precisão teórica e metodológica de uma estratégia de dramatização desenvolvida na correspondente pesquisa doutoral. Dedica-se a reconstruir alguns antecedentes de cruzamentos entre antropologia e teatro, mas também as perspectivas mais amplas sobre a dimensão do corpo com as que aqueles antecedentes dialogam. Dentro deste marco, pergunta-se pelo potencial das abordagens históricas da educação em sensibilidades nos dispositivos escolares modernos. Conclui-se com a necessidade de vincular a proposta com as discussões sobre pesquisa com infâncias.

The aim of this paper is to describe -in a partial manner- the structure of social sensibilities formed in the 2001 Argentinean’ crisis, through a systematic inquiry that takes into account the voice of those subjects who participated in collective action during that time in the city of Villa Maria, Córdoba. Considering this objective, the structures of sensibility that persist through time configured by fear, resignation, helplessness and paralysis are identified, described and analyzed., Este trabajo pretende dar cuenta, parcialmente, de la estructura de las sensibilidades sociales elaboradas a partir de la crisis del 2001 en la Argentina, a través de una indagación sistemática desde la voz de los sujetos que participaron en acciones colectivas durante la aludida crisis en la ciudad de Villa María, Córdoba. En el marco de dicho objetivo se identifican, describen y analizan las estructuras de sensibilidad que persisten a través del tiempo configuradas por el miedo, la resignación, la impotencia y la parálisis.
