Changes in the parameters of temperature and moisture content of wheat grain stored in large-capacity metal silos were investigated. The scheme of storage and processing of grain with the initial parameters is proposed. Experiments on changing the moisture and temperature of the grain mass with active ventilation in large-capacity metal silos have shown how the rate of temperature change depends on the specific air flow rate and the temperature difference between the grain spaces. During long-term storage, it was determined that grain mass with a moisture content of up to 13.6% without deterioration in quality can be stored for no more than nine months. For long periods of storage, the moisture content of the grain mass should be less than 12%. In addition, the article discusses the processes occurring in the under-roof space of large-capacity metal silos, offers a calculation method and solutions to the problem due to structural changes in metal silos. The aim of this study was to analyze the microstructure of cheeses before and after drying using preliminary coloring. The objects of research were cheeses of the following brands: "Pokrovskiy", "Russian" and "Gollandskiy". Drying of cheeses was carried out in a vacuum drying unit at a residual pressure of 7-8 kPa, a heat flux density of 5±0.5 kW/m2, and a heating temperature of 50±1 °C. Photographs of the microstructure were obtained on a scanning electron microscope JEOL JSM-6390 LA. Two methods were used to stain the fat of cheeses before microstructural analysis: Sudan according to Gersheimer; Sudan III and methylene blue. In colored cheeses in any of the ways, in comparison with uncolored cheeses, their structure becomes more clearly visible during electron microscopy. In the structure of cheeses, fatty elements are present in the form of irregular droplets, ranging in size from 30 to 100 microns. It was found that the structure of cheeses stained with Sudan III and methylene blue is clearer and more pronounced in comparison with the structure stained with Sudan III according to Gersheimer. Since fat melting occurs when dyeing dry cheese with Sudan III according to Gersheimer, this technique cannot be used for dyeing fat in dry cheeses. It is recommended to stain the fat in dry cheeses with Sudan III and methylene blue. In stained cheeses, the size of calcium phosphate before drying was determined from 5 to 10 microns, in cheeses after drying from 30 to 100 microns. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The lightest nucleon resonances are described at light front as mixed states of the 3q cluster ("quark core") possessing a definite value of the inner orbital momentum L = 0,1 and a hadron molecular state, N+σ or Λ+K. Helicity amplitudes of the resonance electroproduction off the proton are calculated at large Q2 up to 12 GeV2 and compared to the last CLAS data. At this basis we have estimated the probability of quark core in lightest nucleon resonances and predicted the high Q2 behaviour of the resonance electrocoupling. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this work the bremsstrahlung and photon dissociation cross sections for transitions between 0+, 2+, and 4+ states in 12C are computed. The nucleus is described within the three-alpha model, and the wave functions are computed by means of the hyperspherical adiabatic expansion method. The continuum states are discretized by imposing a box boundary condition. The transition strengths are obtained from the cross sections, and compared to schematic rotational model predictions. The computed results strongly suggest that the two lowest bands are made, respectively, by the states with angular momentum and parity {0+1 , 2+1 , 4+2 } and {0+2 , 2+2 , 4+1 }. The transitions between the states in the first band are consistent with the rotational pattern corresponding to three alphas in an equilateral triangular structure. For the second band, the transitions are also consistent with a rotational pattern, but with the three alphas in an aligned distribution. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Neutron rich Zinc isotopes, including the N = 50 nucleus 80Zn, were produced and post-accelerated at the Radioactive Ion Beam (RIB) facility REX-ISOLDE (CERN). Low-energy Coulomb excitation was induced on these isotopes after post-acceleration, yielding B(E2) strengths to the first excited 2+ states. For the first time, an excited state in 80Zn was observed and the 21+ state in 78Zn was established. The measured B(E2,21+→01+) values are compared to two sets of large scale shell model calculations. Both calculations reproduce the observed B(E2) systematics for the full Zinc isotopic chain. The results for N = 50 isotones indicate a good N = 50 shell closure and a strong Z = 28 proton core polarization. The new results serve as benchmarks to establish theoretical models, predicting the nuclear properties of the doubly magic nucleus 78Ni. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We use the hyperspherical coordinates to describe decay of many-body resonances. Direct and sequential decay are described by different paths in the distances between the particles. We generalize the WKB expression for the α-decay width to decay of three charged particles. Decay mechanisms and resonance structures are computed in coordinate space. The energy distributions of the particles after decay are discussed. Moderate s-wave scattering lengths prefer decay via corresponding virtual state possibly leaving unique fingerprints of this reminiscence of the Efimov effect in the decay of excited states. The weakly interacting trapped Bose gases have been customarily described using the mean-field approximation in the form of the Gross-Pitaevskii equation. The mean-field approximation, however, has certain limitations, in particular it can not describe correlations between particles. The spectrum (bound states and resonances) of different nuclei that can be described as three-body systems is investigated. The complex scaling method is shown to be an efficient tool to compute three-body resonances following exactly the same numerical techniques as for bound states. We attempt to describe the widths of the alpha decaying states of [sup 12]C (0[sup +], 1[sup +], 1[sup -], 2[sup +], 2[sup -] ,3[sup -], and 4[sup +]) consistently within the three-alpha cluster model. We solve the Faddeev equations where we include short-range and Coulomb potentials between the alpha-particles and also a parametrized three-body potential. Structure and stability for two-component boson systems are studied by use of the hyperadii of the two systems and the distance between their centers. Sufficiently strong repulsion between different bosons form stable structures at a finite distance between the centers.
