This study examines the influence of capital structure, profitability, and dividend payout on the firm value of banking subsector firms. The focus of this study is the bank subsector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange between 2013 and 2021. The sample for this study consists of banks listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) between 2013 and 2021. Purposive sampling was used to select these institutions for sampling based on their compliance with the research requirements. The population as a whole consists of 34 businesses, while the subset of enterprises meeting the specified criteria consists of 8 samples with a research duration of 9 years, yielding a total of 72 data observations. The panel regression technique reveals that the capital structure has no statistically significant effect on the value of a company. Nevertheless, return on assets has a strong positive correlation with firm value. In contrast, earnings per share have a negative relationship with firm value. Furthermore, dividend payments have no statistically significant effect on the value of a company. This research aims to analyze the influence of dividend policy determinants on dividend payment either partially or simultaneously in all industry sectors except the financing industry listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2016. The factors examined in this research include profitability, leverage, growth, agency cost and firm size. Data were obtained from the relevant databases and financial statements of the sampled companies. This research examines a total of 149 companies. The results revealed that profitability and growth significantly influence dividend policy. Meanwhile, leverage, agency cost, and firm size have no significant effect on dividend policy. It is suggested that the company should always pay attention to the fundamental aspects of the company, and it may determine their dividend policies to keep attracting an investor. It is best for an investor to consider a company with high profitability, low leverage, low or high growth rates, high free cash flow, and a big firm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Dividend and dividend policy represent one of most debating economic subjects, but till now have a lot of unanswered questions. One of the main questions regarding with dividends and dividend policy is which significant factor determines the dividend. Previous research shows that significant factors of dividend and dividend policy are profitability, stability of earnings, growth, debt level, owner ship concentration and size. The main determinant is profitability, which is crucial for making the business surplus, which partially serves for dividends. But beside to profitability for paying the dividends the company must have cash. The old saying "cash is king", points the role and meaning of cash in the business. The role of cash in the business is particularly pronounced in today's business conditions when access to cash is difficult and expensive. Companies have to ensure liquidity and solvency, which are necessary for paying off dividends. Starting from the fact that dividends are a portion of a company's cash flow, which is paid to shareholders, with this paper we want to answer on questions if and how the free cash flow influences the dividends level on Croatian capital market. So the research objective was to explore the correlation between free cash flow and amount of total paid dividends. The research was conducted on the 40 companies from the Croatian capital market by using static unbalanced panel data analysis. The research result shows that free cash flow is a significant determinant of dividends and that greater free cash flow resulting with higher dividends. The obtained data shows that free cash flow statistically significantly affects the amount of the total paid dividends at the 1% level. The free cash flow is positively correlated with the amount of total paid dividends and show if the free cash flow increased by 1,00 kn the amount of total paid dividend will rise for 0,078 kn. Throughout the paper, we have highlighted some controversial aspects regarding the crime of tax evasion, referring to some important decisions of the High Court of Cassation and Justice and also of the Bucharest Court of Appeal. Debating upon the impunity provision stated by art. 10 of Law no. 241/2005, the study also sheds light upon the issue of the perspective of the judicial organs regarding the juridical regime of the tax due for dividends. The main focus of the paper leads to the situations when there is legal ground for the tax due for dividends to be considered part of the damage caused by tax evasion crime. The study includes a short analysis of some relevant provisions of the Romanian Fiscal Code and also some aspects deriving from decisions issued by the Administrative and Tax Litigation Chamber of The High Court of Cassation and Justice concerning the legal regime of dividends. Consequently, the authors are presenting both perspectives of the interpretation of the issue regarding the tax due for dividends to be considered part of the damage caused by tax evasion crime, resulting from two decisions of the two Criminal Sections of The Bucharest Court of Appeal, also arguing in favour of the most solid interpretation among them. Purpose: Various factors have an impact on corporate governance, one of these factors being corporate dividend policy. Given this, the main purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of dividend policies on corporate governance and stock price valuation. Scientific Methodology: Secondary data have been used to finish this paper, data issued from the World Bank, public institutions and other scientific works. Finding the Study: Considering the results achieved in this paper, we can conclude that the dividend policy has been irrelevant or unrelated in estimating the stock price for the 6 corporations taken in the study. Hence the theory of Modigliani and Miller or M&M is applied, which states that the value of the company is determined by the income provided by the assets and not by its dividend policy. Based on this the dividend policy is irrelevant in determining the value of the corporation and as such should not be given much importance. Practical Implications: Through this paper we recommend all corporations especially those that are relatively new to reinvest their profits, creating new technologies and products, improving working conditions rather than distributing profits in dividend form. In this way the corporate market is more secure in the long run, as well as capital gains for the shareholders. The information-based approach asset pricing model by Brody-Hughston-Macrina is constructed based on the dividends information that can be accessed by investors at recent time in a financial market. Brody-Hughston-Macrina modeled the asset pricing at recent time for case of the cash flows value paying a single dividend at the certain time. The model is given by the expectation of the upcoming dividends conditional at the market information filtration under the risk neutral probability measure. The market information filtration is contained by the recent information flows that represent sum of the two of information i.e. the true information of dividends and the noise information in the financial market. Brody-Hughston-Macrina also constructed a model from setting that is a limited-liability asset that pays no interim dividends and is sold off at time fixed for the certain value. In this model, the recent information flows represent the sum of the market factor information and the noise information. Then this model is called a Black-Scholes Model from an Information-Based Perspective. Brody-Hughston-Macrina did imprecision in using of Gaussian Integrals to obtain the final result of the Black-Scholes Model from an Information-Based Perspective. This paper explains an imprecision for using of Gaussian Integrals in deriving the final result of the Black-Sholes Model from an Informative-Perspective, so it is found a different final model from the final model by Brody-Hughston-Macrina. The article focuses on the tax issues related to initial public offerings (IPOs) of several types of securities by corporations. It examines the definition of public corporation for income tax purposes and the consequences of a corporation that becomes a public company on taxation. It explores alternative structures for the completion of an IPO such as the reverse takeover structure, as well as issues arising from subscription receipts, convertible debt and special warrants.

The article focuses on the introduction of the new tax regime for dividends and the rules for calculating low-rate income pool (LRIP) and general-rate income pool (GRIP) in Canada. It explores the anomalies and problems that can arise from the limited coverage of the transitional GRIP addition for the 2001-2005 taxation years, as well as issues of amalgamations and windups, and payment of intercompany dividends. It discusses GRIP and LRIP considerations in acquisitions and mergers.

The article focuses on the taxation policy of Canada to foreign business income. It states that Canada needs to adopt a territorial approach on taxing foreign-source income. It mentions that the tax policy exempts the capital gains on foreign sales which does not result to any loss on material revenue for Canadian government.

This study examines the effectiveness in terms of legitimacy of the bargaining tactic, which was proposed by Oliver (1991). We develop arguments to explain under which conditions bargaining can potentially increase social support. To test our hypotheses, we investigated whether publicly traded diversified firms can increase their excess value when they distribute dividends or buyback their shares. Results show that bargaining can help increasing social support but only under specific conditions.
