This paper presents a new algorithm based on characteristic equation of solar cells to determine the Maximum Power Point (MPP) of PV modules under partially shaded conditions (PSC). To achieve this goal, an analytic condition is introduced to determine uniform or non-uniform atmospheric conditions quickly. This paper also proposes an effective and quick response technique to find the MPP of PV array among Global Peak (GP) and local peaks when PSC occurs based on the analytic condition. It also can perform in a manner like conventional MPPT method when the insolation conditions are uniform. Hydrophobicity is a prominent characteristic of silicone rubber for polymer insulators. The accurate evaluation on the insulator hydrophobicity is increasingly required for the long-term performance of outdoor insulators in the smart grid. In this paper, based on dynamic dropping test (DDT), acoustic characteristic of surface discharges generated by the dynamic behavior of water droplet was investigated to evaluate the hydrophobic properties of silicone rubber insulator at different ageing levels. The specimens were prepared by using the method of corona degradation and determined by contact angle (CA). It is found that characteristic of discharge sound changing with the decrease of CA. Therefore, the results obtained indicate that the acoustic characteristic of discharge in DDT method is sensitive to the hydrophobic properties, which can be applied as a non-contact method for hydrophobicity evaluation of silicone rubber insulators. With the gradual expansion scale of mobile intelligent terminals and the popularity of social networks, information exchange among mobile users shows the social characteristics. Aimed at a class of parameter-unknown control problems, a variable structure control (VSC) method based on the tracking-differentiator (TD) is presented by creating a characteristic model. The model is created by recursive least squares (RLS) method with forgotten factor to estimate the parameters of the model. When the model becomes steady, the output of the model is consistence with the original one. Considering there are always various perturbations in complex conditions, the VSC is applied to control the system with its slide mode's good quality of insensitive to the perturbations. In the display's calibration and characterization, Gamma value, color temperature and brightness parameters of the display colors have tremendous influence. The results of experiments: With the Gamma value increases, the color tristimulus values and luminance L values are increasing, and the rate of increase varies, adjust the display image of the bright part of the level will show better, the contrary is also true, so choose appropriate gamma value to improve the image display; the color temperature of more than gamma, color temperature value selected according to the monitor to determine the specific work environment; brightness almost no effect, select the brightness you can choose based on the observed conditions. In order to solve problems such as short distance existing in the passive tag's wireless power transfer with loose coupling of electromagnetic, an improved strong magnetic coupling resonance energy transfer method for tags based on high Q value was proposed. Theory analysis and simulation of wireless power transfer efficiency and Q value were done based on coupling model theory and resonance circuit theory. Two improved models based on series resonance circuit and parallel resonance circuit were given and the corresponding experiment testing devices were designed. The experiment results show that Q value is increased by adding the resonant coil, the maximum transmission distance under the two improved methods is three size of that one under the basic resonance, and the transmission efficiency is four size of that one under the basic resonance. On the basis of the maglev spindle structure design, the PID control system is designed and its mathematical model is established. The influence of the PID control parameters on the response performance of the system is studied by using the MATLAB SISO. The global optimization design of the PID control system is achieved by using SRO (Simulink Response Optimization) module, and the system response performance of the maglev spindle achieves the best. In order to evaluate the electromagnetic compatibility characteristics of Level Gauge, the project of the EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) characteristics immunity test of level gauge was brought up in paper. Fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method was used to evaluate the electromagnetic compatibility characteristics of Level Gauge. The weight was determined by the method of Analytic Hierarchy Process. It could make the assignment of each factor more scientific, reasonable, and the reflection of the influence from different factors of EMC immunity to the level gauge would be better. Fingerprints are the most used biometric feature for person identification and verification in the field of biometric identification. We put forward a new fingerprint identification algorithm that combines point match and image match. This algorithm depends on singular point abstraction and wavelet transform coefficient. First singular points are extracted for rough match and image calibration. Because the fingerprint image after wavelet transformation obey Generalized Gaussian Distribution approximately, we can use two parameters to represent for wavelet sub-band characteristics, and it will greatly reduce the number of feature point and the time for match. The result of final experiment in which we used FVC2002 fingerprint database shows that this algorithm can effectively overcome the influence of image rotation and make the final recognition rate reach 90.5%, the average speed of recognition is about 0.9s. In this paper, we propose a novel sensor data collection method on an overlay network that forwards messages to the nodes that are suitable for reconstructing a sensor data distribution. When there is an enormous number of sensors, it is redundant to collect all sensor data from a target area since geographically close sensor data can be interpolated. Some methods treat reconstructing a contour lines map by using sensor data collected on overlay networks. However, there is a trade-off between the accuracy and the number of collected sensor data. Our approach is to treat the granularity of the characteristic points in the reconstructed contour lines map in order to satisfy the various requirements of different users. Our proposal method extends the hierarchical Delaunay overlay network (HDOV) and collects a limited number of sensor data. The collection request is forwarded according to the feature amount that corresponds to the characteristics for each layer of the HDOV. Our simulation results showed that our proposal could reconstruct contour lines maps while satisfying the requested granularity of the characteristic points within the number of collected sensor data. According to underwater terrain characteristic, the multi-index synthetic evaluation theory is used for calculating matching area of an underwater terrain-aided navigation system in this paper. Considering the terrain elevation standard deviation, roughness, terrain correlation coefficient, topographic information entropy and other crucial terrain characteristic parameters on the effect of navigation performance, and select system evaluation factors set, then the entropy weight method and CRITIC method is respectively used to determine the weight of every evaluation index, finally educe navigation performance evaluation value of the terrain, which provides the basis reference for each selected matching area. A parallelized version of multilevel Characteristic Basis Function method (ML-CBFM) is applied in this paper to the problem of electromagnetic scattering in the VHF and UHF bands from trees in large forest areas that are modeled as three dimensional, finite-length, dielectric cylinders. The use of this method enables us to achieve a significant reduction in terms of computing time and memory consumption, as compared to the conventional Method of Moments (MoM), and this, in turn, enables us to handle very large forest areas, well beyond the reach of conventional MoM. Furthermore, we take advantage of the fact that the ML-CBFM algorithm is naturally parallelizable, which provides us an added advantage over the conventional MoM. The ML-CBFM results are shown to be in good agreement with those obtained via the conventional MoM, which confirms the fact that the proposed method is not only computationally efficient, but is accurate as well. The paper presents an efficient and accurate technique for the analysis of large, finite and conformal Frequency Selective Surfaces (FSSs) which are not amenable to analysis by using conventional methods. The proposed technique is based on the Characteristic Basis Functions (CBFs) to describe the currents induced on the FSS elements. Pulse repetition interval (PRI) is an important parameter in radar signal sorting. In this paper plane transformation technique is applied to radar signal sorting. Firstly we derive the plane transformation characteristic curve of a periodic signal, followed by an improved extraction algorithm. Simulation results show that the extraction algorithm transforms the characteristic curve correctly after automatic detection. Enhancement of subthreshold swing with increasing the channel layer thickness of bottom gate top contact type amorphous oxide TFT were evaluated by 2D device simulation with trap states induced in backchannel. There is a changing trend of attenuation exponential summation on a huge volume of electromagnetic response data in the research of time-domain airborne electromagnetic exploration. According to this changing trait, in this paper, matrix pencil method is used to extract characteristic parameters like pole from the electromagnetic response data, as well as to complete descending rank and reconstruction of the electromagnetic response data. Algorithm analysis and example result prove that, either non-noise environment or including noise environment, matrix pencil method realizes better approximating precision between original curve and reconstruction curve, and guarantees a lower precision wave with large extent of signal-to-noise ratio variation. Therefore, this algorithm possesses excellent resisting noise disturbance capacity and stability, and is an efficient mathematics tool to rapidly explain airborne electromagnetic response data in complex electromagnetic environment. Study on microfluid flow characteristic can be useful for most practical engineering application such as flows in inkjet printhead, drug delivery devices and microthermal technologies. Hence, in this paper, simulation of microfluid flow in Backward Facing Step (BFS) microchannel has been performed to visualize the flow characteristic at the step region. The microchannel used in this simulation has a step with a step height of 25% from the outlet height. The simulation has been carried out for various Reynolds numbers ranging from 0.1 to 500. The simulations result shows a recirculation zone is appeared at the edge of step for Reynolds numbers of 100, 300 and 500. The AT (Auto Transformer) power mode with parallel connection is applied on dedicated passenger lines in China on a large scale. In the power supply mode, the traction transformer is single phase with mid-point connected to the ground in its secondary side. High manufacturing cost is the shortage of this type of transformer. Based on finite element volume method and fully implicit multi-grid coupling algorithm, with a certain distortion degree of the static cascade flow field is solved in three-dimensional steady-state under subcritical, critical and supercritical flow state. The paper analyses and calculates the developmental characteristics of the secondary flow in the lower wall of the cascade channels and the aerodynamic characteristic of the cascade. The calculated results under different critical state show that the secondary flow loss of cascade end wall is bound up with cascade profile and the upper and lower endwall. Especially in the supercritical flow state, there are strong disturbances of steam flow in the cascade ends and cascade shape surface. Meanwhile, the calculated results reveal the characteristic of vortices evolution in cascade channels and also shows that the strength of secondary flow develops rapidly. Two obvious vortex areas form at the nearby of the cascade back-arc of the upper and lower endwall. The development of vortices under subcritical flow state is similar to the development of vortices under critical flow state. The passage vortex moves backward under supercritical flow state. Ishikawa Prefecture is located in the Hokuriku region in Japan. One of the problems of the tourism in Ishikawa is to increase the number of tourists from foreign countries. In order to solve this problem, it should be necessary to provide foreign tourists with “language service.” In this study, in order to understand a state of language service to foreign tourists, we investigated what linguistic characteristics could be found in English guidebooks for Kanazawa, which is the capital city of Ishikawa, and Toyama, which is also in Hokuriku, comparing with the official guidebooks for Tokyo, Fuji, Kyoto, and Hida. In short, frequency characteristics of character- and word-appearance were investigated using a program written in C++. These characteristics were approximated by an exponential function. Furthermore, we calculated the percentage of Japanese junior high school required vocabulary and American basic vocabulary to obtain the difficulty-level as well as the K-characteristic of each material. As a result, it was clearly shown that English guidebooks for Hokuriku have a similar tendency to literary writings in the characteristics of character-appearance. In this report, we designed a procedure for exploring the cellular relationships from the sets of characteristic genes in distinctive cell types, by using partial canonical correlation analysis. We applied the present procedure to the characteristic gene sets of seven subtypes of testicular germ cell tumors in a previous report. The cellular relationships were well reconstructed, consistent with the general histologic lineage model, and new implications for the subtype differentiation were found. In particular, the correspondence between the inferred relationships and the functional characterizations of constituent genes suggests a hypothesis for the classification between seminoma and embryonal carcinoma. The partial canonical correlation analysis is also appropriate for revealing new features of cellular relationships, based on the transcriptional programs. This paper is concerned with active packet dropouts-based anti-disturbance performance optimization for a continuous-time networked control system (NCS) under consideration of time-varying network-induced delays. By proposing the active packet dropouts method, a new model for an NCS is established. Based on the established model, stabilizing controller design criteria are derived to optimize the anti-disturbance performance of the considered NCS. When transferring nonlinear matrix inequalities into linear matrix inequalities, a parameter searching algorithm and new bounding inequalities are proposed to introduce less conservatism. The mutually exclusive distribution characteristic of the interval time-varying delays is made full use to deal with integral inequalities for products of vectors. This paper presents a 0.5 V quasi-floating gate self-cascode DTMOS current-mode precision full-wave rectifiers (PFWR). The circuit is designed based on improved Wilson current mirrors. All MOS transistors are biased on the edge of conduction, enabling the circuit to operate at low voltage with low power consumption. Negative feedback mechanism of the Wilson current mirror and cross coupling techniques have been employed to reduce the input impedance. Spectre is used to perform the simulation and the results show the frequency of operation as high as 100 MHz using a standard 0.13 µm CMOS technology. The mismatch between the input and rectifier's output is 0.24% for an input current of ±100 µA. Extraction methods of points of interest in image characterization are many and diverse. In general the process of characterization follows a construction of a detector/descriptor schema. The detection allows selecting some points of interest as primitives who capture important structural information about the image. These detected points are then described by characteristic vectors to form a representative signature of the image. We find many applications of these methods in systems of classification, indexing and search by content in the images databases. While most of detection methods offer descriptors related both to the detection phase and the destination application. For the FAST (Features from Accelerated Segment Test) method, it remains one of the fastest methods currently, and located many application in the tasks of instant characterization. However, the authors of this method offer only a detection approach, without explicitly giving the approach of description to let this part for future application methods. On the other hand, others methods based on graphs, bringing structural aspects over the statistical methods of characterization. In this paper, we propose a method of characterization of the image by the graph that uses points of interest detected by the FAST algorithm to construct the structure of graphs of characterization. Shared services have been heralded as a means of enhancing services and improving the efficiency of their delivery. As such they have been embraced by the private, and increasingly, the public sectors. Yet implementation has proved to be difficult and the number of success stories has been limited. Which factors are critical to success in the development of shared services arrangements is not yet well understood. The current paper examines existing research in the area of critical success factors (CSFs) and suggests that there are actually three distinct types of CSF: outcome, implementation process and operating environment characteristic. Two case studies of public sector shared services in Australia and the Netherlands are examined through a lens that both incorporates all three types of CSF and distinguishes between them. In this paper, we introduce one efficient Power-to-Amplitude Transformation (PAT) technique based on the Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method for the electromagnetic simulation of the guide-wave system. Due to the time-domain characteristic, FDTD method is one of the most popular numerical EM methods to analyze the guide-wave problem excited by harmonic or non-harmonic signal. With the rigorous derivation, we have successfully solved the PAT challenge which is provided by the dispersive character of guide-wave system. Twitter is an online social network service to supply the place to be released the short sentences as free. Recently, this service has a few hundred million users, and we can collect their Tweets easily. In this paper, we propose the climatic hazard detection method by using Twitter as a social sensor and by using neural network as a machine learning method. However the data size of the text classification is too large. So, it is required to propose the high-speed learning algorithm. On another front, GPU is the dedicated circuit to draw the graphics, so it has a characteristic that the many simple arithmetic circuits are implemented. This characteristic is hoped to apply the massive parallelism not only graphic processing. In this paper, the neural network is applied to be faster by using GPU. Some methods are considered, and the simple one is employed as comparison to compare with the proposed methods. As the result, the proposed method is 6 times faster than comparison method. This neural network learning method is used for the text classification. 35,379 Tweets were gathered and these were deconstructed to the words by using morphological analysis. The feature vectors were constructed by using the nouns and adjectives selected from the words of the Twitter. We used 860 dimensions feature vectors and classified the positive data or negative. In the fundamental stochastic duels, the interfiring time means the sum of the time to load and the time to aim. However, in realistic stochastic duels, the interfiring time is related to the time of supplying ammunition. In this article we study the effect of ammunition supplying times on the stochastic duels. Suppose that the ammunition supplying time is negative exponential and the other conditions are the same as those in the fundamental stochastic duel. The marksman firing at a passive target is considered and the characteristic function of the time to a hit is developed. The effect of ammunition supplying times is analyzed by solving the stochastic duel with the situation where one duelist has negative exponential supplying times while the other has unlimited ammunition. This paper proposes a method for determining the location of GSM mobile transmitters. The process discussed here estimates the location of a source without the use of multilateration or LOS techniques. A Multipath Characteristic Database (MCD) containing the multipath signatures for each possible transmitter location in an area of interest is populated via ray-tracing software simulations. The multipath characteristics of interest are Angle of Arrival (AOA), and Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA). An analysis of an eigenstructure Joint Angle and Delay Estimations (JADE) is presented, and the properties of the MCD are discussed. Since the proposed method utilizes a simulated multipath signature database the need for a priori soundings from the area of interest is eliminated, thus making this location estimation system ideal for use in hostile territories. In digit on-line arithmetic, operands are introduced a digit at a time. After the first few operand digits have been introduced, the result begins to appear a digit at a time. This feature of digit on-line arithmetic allows a significant amount of overlapping of arithmetic operations. Digit on-line arithmetic can sometimes produce unnormalized results. This can present a problem for the divide and square root algorithms. If the divisor and radicand are highly unnormalized, these algorithms will not produce the correct results. Two advances in overcoming this problem are presented. First, several techniques for producing results that are closer to being normalized are developed. Second, it is shown that normalized results are not necessary for divide and square root to work properly. Combining these results yields algorithms that will always give the correct results. We study the transmission response of microwaves through two identical metallic plates perforated with periodical ultranarrow slits. The experimental and numerical transmission spectra consistently display a striking transmission peak at wavelength much larger than any characteristic length of the microstructure (e.g., about 20-fold of the lattice constant), which can not be directly interpreted by the existing mechanisms. Both the LC-circuit-based microscopic picture and the effective-medium-based macroscopic model are established to capture the essential physics behind such unexpected resonance at the deep subwavelength scale. Slotted logarithmic antennas with ground planes are modified and simulated for conformal antenna applications. The antennas can be processed on flexible substrates. A slotted spiral antenna is modified as a logarithmic wide bandwidth antenna. A flat version and a curved version of the antennas with the same structural parameters are simulated to show that although there are slight modifications due to curvature of the conformal design, the radiation characteristic of the flat and curved antennas are similar. In this study, the mutual electrolyte structure of arrayed flexible dye-sensitized solar cell (FDSSC) was used to decrease the internal impedance. The ITO-PET substrate was etched the conductive layer (ITO) by etching solution, which designed arrayed pattern. TiO2 thin film was fabricated on the arrayed conductive substrate by spin-coating. The arrayed flexible dye-sensitized solar cell with mutual electrolyte structure can be well avoided electrolyte to contact ITO layer directly, which increased photovoltaic conversion efficiency. The arrayed flexible dye-sensitized solar cell with mutual electrolyte structure has excess electrolyte, which can obtain sufficient redox from crevice between cell and cell of mutual electrolyte structure. Compared different distances between cell and cell of mutual electrolyte structure, and the experimental results were confirmed by photovoltaic characteristic parameters and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS). According to the experimental results, the distance of 1 mm has optimal characteristic parameter, which the open circuit voltage (VOC) is 0.81 V, the short circuit current density (JSC) is 1.70 mA/cm2, and the photovoltaic conversion efficiency is 0.37 %. Plovdiv University has almost five years of experience in the implementation of performance support system principles in traditional university education and PSS Learning Objects in DIPSEIL CMLS as well as in Physics Engineering, Medical Physics and Information Physics and Communications bachelor degree courses and in Information and Communications Systems master degree courses. Partnerships between universities on the one hand and enterprises on the other are crucial when it comes to matching the needs for skills on the labor market in the region with those students can actually offer. In this regard our industry partners Index 6, TepolSofts, which operate in the field of the adaptive performance-centered curriculum, will help us in the skills and personal competence profiles identification. On the first stage of the project the potential of employers' surveys will be explored as a tool for analysing the skills and abilities needed for the electronic and software engineering job positions. The right skills portfolio will be defined and the matrix of learning outcomes will be developed. The overlapping areas in the competence profiles and the higher education programmes at Plovdiv University will be identified. Going forward the three organizations will take into account the outlined key competences and will develop a tailor-made training PAC curriculum, teaching, delivery and assessment methods, adapted to the relevant job positions. Auditory information plays an integral role in AV media because even identical images are perceived differently when they are matched with different music. We now present a few studies in which the changes in subjective impressions of when visual information is matched with auditory information were analyzed on the basis of the physical features. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of music on image impressions in terms of physical features of images or music. In this paper, we first elucidate the changes in subjective impressions when the image is presented without music and when it is presented with music using the semantic differential method and factor analysis. Secondly, to clarify the relationship between the impression and physical features, we compare their respective physical features, which include color information, structural information, tempo, tonality, and frequency characteristics with subjective impressions. As a result, the factor analysis extracted two factors: "comfort" and "potency & activity". In the relationship between factors and physical features, red-green characteristic of image was strongly correlated with "comfort". A case study in a pediatric dental clinic was presented. The data were transformed into LRFM (Length, Recency, Frequency, and Monetary) format with fixed M covered by National Health Insurance program in Taiwan, where the data were categorized into 1 to 5 for L, R, and F variables. Later, gender was classified into two types, and age was grouped into four categories. The target in this study was frequency, while L, R, gender, and age were the input variables when Bayesian network was performed. The results show that the overall accuracy is 65.26%, and three out of five classes have relatively high accuracy values. Moreover, the value of the overall receiver operating characteristic (ROC) area is 0.891, which indicates that this Bayesian network model performs well in this pediatric dental clinic study. In recent years we have witnessed that the crime presents the gang characteristic. In many cases, we are able to obtain the communication messages of the suspicious conspirators. However, it is rather difficult to find out most conspirators with limited information, especially when the number of suspicious conspirators is large. In fact, to find out the conspirators and non-conspirators is equivalent to separate the network into two communities. There are some successful algorithms to separate an unweighted network into several communities. But they are of little use to our problem since the network of our problem is a weighted graph. In order to better solve the problem, we creatively convert the network into a circuit and use Kirchhoff's Voltage Law (KVL) to figure out the result by iteration. This method meets with the features of our problem very well. And it turns out to be reasonable and effective theoretically considering its strict process of mathematical derivation. This paper describes the mode matching design of powertrain based on the case for electric vehicle from the engineering point of view and the real vehicle testing. It includes the choice of motor, drive the design, choice of battery power and so on. It is the goal for improving efficiency of electric vehicle for the design of transmission scheme. By output characteristics on the test drive motor, the change of accelerator pedal position sensor signal voltage variation about speed and motor efficiency is obtained. The design will be used to determine the transmission shift control strategy in order to ensure high efficiency motor area when the motor always works to achieve the objective of increasing driving range.
