A micro-tiller vibrates severely during the rotary tillage process, which may cause operators to develop white finger disease. However, for most vibration models, the acting force between the soil and the rotary cutter roll was simplified to only a constant or sine curve, which may not describe the whole dynamic. Rotary tillage processes have been simulated based on the smoothed particle hydrodynamics method in this paper. The acting forces of the soil on the cutter roll have been obtained with the simulation model. Four different working conditions were simulated. The average error between the calculated forces and the simulated mean forces is 10.96%, which proves the SPH model. By introducing simulated acting forces into the vibration model, a new vibration model of the micro-tiller, which includes the soil–blade interaction, has been constructed. Time and frequency characteristics were simulated with the new vibration model. The errors between the simulated and tested RMS values are 4.28%, 5.03%, and 6.35% for the engine, cutter roll, and right handle, respectively. Two domain-dominant frequencies were found with the vibration model, namely 44.7 Hz and 257.0 Hz. It is helpful to reveal the whole dynamic map of micro-tillers.

IntroductionPike perch (Sander Lucioperca) is a predatory freshwater fish, which is highly popular amongst consumers, owing to its white flesh with a delicate structure and mild flavor. Compared to wild pike perch, the diet of farmed ones has shifted from natural food to artificial feeds. These changes would affect the gut flora of the pike perch. Endogenous metabolites of the intestinal flora are transferred through the gut-liver axis, which affects the physiological functions of the host. By studying wild and farmed individuals of the pike perch, novel insights into the stability of the intestinal flora can be provided.Methods and resultsIn this study, we measured various immune parameters in the blood, liver and intestine of wild and farmed pike perch using enzyme activity assays and real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR. Gut microbes were also collected for 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Our results showed that the serum low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels were twice as high in the wild group as in the farmed group. Furthermore, the activities of glutamate pyruvate transaminase (GPT) and glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase (GOT) in the intestinal tissues of the wild group were 733.91 U/g and 375.35 U/g, which were significantly higher than those of the farmed group. Expression of IL10 in the liver of farmed pike perch was also 4-fold higher than that of wild pike perch. The expression of genes related to the p53-BAX/Bcl2 signaling pathway was higher in both intestinal and liver tissues of wild pike perch compared with farmed. 16S rRNA gene analysis of the gut microflora showed a high relative abundance of Cetobacterium in the gut of farmed pike perch.ConclusionAs a result, our study indicates that dietary differences affect the diversity, composition and relative abundance of the gut flora of the pike perch. Meanwhile, it affects the glycolipid metabolism and immunomodulation of pike perch.

Background: Ferroptosis and disulfidptosis are regulatory forms of cell death that play an important role in tumorigenesis and progression. However, few biomarkers about disulfidptosis and ferroptosis related genes (DFRGs) have been developed to predict the prognosis of bladder cancer (BC). Methods: We conducted a bioinformatics analysis using public BC datasets to examine the prognostic significance of differentially expressed DFRGs. A Lasso regression was employed to create a prognostic prediction model from these DFRGs. Hub DFRGs that play a role in immunotherapy response and immunoregulation were pinpointed. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) experiment was performed to assess NUBPL and c-MYC expression in BC patients who underwent surgery or received immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) immunotherapy at Peking University Cancer Hospital. Results: We constructed a valid model to predict the prognosis of BC based on DFRGs and performed relevant validation, the results demonstrated that the model was an independent prognostic factor for BC. Further analysis indicated that the model score, combined with the expression of various immune factors and tumor mutation burden (TMB), could predict the prognosis for BC. In addition, we also found that NUBPL was strongly associated with prognosis and response to ICI treatment, and NUBPL may influence BC malignant progression through the c-MYC pathway. Conclusions: Our research findings highlight the satisfactory predictive value of DFRGs in the immune microenvironment and suggest that NUBPL may be a highly promising biomarker for predicting the prognosis and efficacy of ICI treatment in BC patients.

The on-the-fly machine learning force field approach, based on the Gaussian approximation potential and Bayesian error estimation, was used to study the diffusion of self-interstitial atoms in α-zirconium. Ab initio molecular dynamics simulations of lattice vibration and interstitial diffusion at different temperatures were employed to develop the force field. The radial and angular descriptors of the potential were further optimized to achieve better agreement with first-principles results. Subsequent long-term diffusion simulations were performed to assess the diffusion behavior based on the obtained force field. Tracer diffusion coefficients and diffusion anisotropy were studied at temperatures of 600–1200 K, and the Bayesian errors were estimated throughout the diffusion simulations. The mean and maximum estimated Bayesian errors of atomic force were approximately twice as large as those observed during the learning period. The basal diffusion was greatly favored compared to the interstitial diffusion along the c-axis, consistent with previous simulations based on first-principles results and classical potentials. The accuracy and applicability of the current on-the-fly machine learning approach were critically evaluated.

Abstract Bacterial biofilm is an important factor in bacterial drug resistance. Recently, it has been proved that electret films can inhibit the bacterial biofilm, while its mechanism of action on biofilms is under further investigation. In this work, taking Staphylococcus aureus as an example, the inhibition of positive electret on bacterial biofilm was verified and its mechanism was explained. Two factors have been found to explain the inhibition mechanism of electret on bacterial biofilms. One is probably due to its inhibition of the expression of key genes related to bacterial biofilms induced by the electric field of positive electret, and the other is to prevent the aggregation of bacteria rather than the direct bactericidal effect. The conclusions are expected to be extended to other types of bacteria and expand the application of electrostatic materials in the field of biomedicine.

The long-legged fly Dolichopus galeatus Loew, 1871 belongs to the subfamily Dolichopodinae (Diptera: Dolichopodidae). This work presents the mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of D. galeatus for the first time. The mitogenome has a total length of 15,268 bp, 13 protein-coding genes, two ribosomal RNA (rRNA) genes, and 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs) that make up the genome. All genes have comparable positions and strands to those found in earlier reported fly mitogenomes. The nucleotide composition is tilted toward A and T, which account for 75.1% of the total. Phylogenetic approach shows that Lichtwardtia is the sister group of Dolichopus and that the Dolichopodidae are monophyletic.

Most visual simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) systems are based on the assumption of a static environment in autonomous vehicles. However, when dynamic objects, particularly vehicles, occupy a large portion of the image, the localization accuracy of the system decreases significantly. To mitigate this challenge, this paper unveils DOT-SLAM, a novel stereo visual SLAM system that integrates dynamic object tracking through graph optimization. By integrating dynamic object pose estimation into the SLAM system, the system can effectively utilize both foreground and background points for ego vehicle localization and obtain a static feature points map. To rectify the inaccuracies in depth estimation from stereo disparity directly on the foreground points of dynamic objects due to their self-similarity characteristics, a coarse-to-fine depth estimation method based on camera–road plane geometry is presented. This method uses rough depth to guide fine stereo matching, thereby obtaining the 3 dimensions (3D)spatial positions of feature points on dynamic objects. Subsequently, by establishing constraints on the dynamic object’s pose using the road plane and non-holonomic constraints (NHCs) of the vehicle, reducing the initial pose uncertainty of dynamic objects leads to more accurate dynamic object initialization. Finally, by considering foreground points, background points, the local road plane, the ego vehicle pose, and dynamic object poses as optimization nodes, through the establishment and joint optimization of a nonlinear model based on graph optimization, accurate six degrees of freedom (DoFs) pose estimations are obtained for both the ego vehicle and dynamic objects. Experimental validation on the KITTI-360 dataset demonstrates that DOT-SLAM effectively utilizes features from the background and dynamic objects in the environment, resulting in more accurate vehicle trajectory estimation and a static environment map. Results obtained from a real-world dataset test reinforce the effectiveness.

In the continuation of our sustained interest in porphyrin-based dendrimers and their use as luminescent photosensitizers for two-photon photodynamic therapy (2P-PDT), we wondered about the effect of changing the connectors in our macromolecular structures. We also wanted to initiate preliminary studies on meso-tetraarylporphyrins decorated with more electron-releasing arms. Thus, various meso-tetrafluorenylporphyrin-cored star-shaped and dendrimeric derivatives have been synthesized and characterized, as well as their zinc(II) complexes. In the new dendrimeric derivatives, the peripheral fluorenyl units of the dendrons are linked to the inner core either by N-phenylcarbazole (CCbz) or triphenylamine (CTpa) connectors instead of the more classic 1,3,5-phenylene (CPh) linkers previously used by us. Selected linear and non-linear optical (LO and NLO) properties were then determined for these compounds via absorption or emission studies and by two-photon excited fluorescence (TPEF) measurements. It was found that the CCbz-containing dendrimer, which has the most rigid structure, exhibits a significantly lower two-photon absorption (2PA) cross-section than its CTpa analog, presenting a more flexible structure while rather similar luminescence and singlet oxygen activation quantum yields are found for both. The origin of this unexpected discrepancy is briefly discussed based on our photophysical data. It is then demonstrated that the latter dendrimer also outperforms several closely related dendrimers in terms of 2PA action cross-section and 2PA-oxygen sensitization, making its molecular architecture quite appealing for developing new 2PA photosensitizers suited to theranostic uses.

Global HIV/AIDS responses have been increasingly biomedically dominated over the past years. In line with this shifting paradigm, China has prioritized mass HIV testing as a practical approach to controlling its HIV/AIDS epidemics among at-risk populations, especially gay men and other men who have sex with men (MSM). This study analyzed why China’s mass HIV testing mainly targeted gay men by understanding the perspectives of public health professionals, community-based organization (CBO) workers, and gay men. In addition, this study revealed the tensions and unintended consequences of HIV/AIDS prevention and the representation of gay men in China. The study involved fieldwork conducted in a major city in Eastern China from 2015 to 2019. Semi-structured interviews were held with participants from the three abovementioned groups ( N = 25). The study identified four processes concerning why gay men are mainly targeted for HIV testing. Some public health professionals believe that being a gay man is equivalent to having HIV/AIDS risks. In addition, this study particularly noted tensions between public health professionals and gay men, including gay men–identified CBO workers, over whether mass HIV testing should target gay men or anyone who engaged in sexual risk behaviors. This study argued that a particular focus on gay men due to pursuing biomedical advances in HIV/AIDS prevention seems to have unintendedly stereotyped gay men based on the presumptions that they are at risk of developing HIV/AIDS. In addition, this study corresponded to the broader social scientific discussion concerning whether HIV/AIDS intervention should target specific sexual risk practices or sexual identity/population.

Pikeperch (Sander lucioperca) is a species with great potential for aquaculture in Eurasian countries, while feed costs limit the scale of pikeperch farming. Adding carbohydrates to the feed as an energy source is a viable approach to reduce costs and to improve the culture status of pikeperch. In this study, in order to determine the optimal carbohydrate requirement of pikeperch, three tapioca starch (8%, 10%, and 12%) added feeds were produced with isonitrogenous (51%) and isolipidic (11%). For 8 weeks, body weight was 1.20 ± 0.01 g, pikeperch were manually fed the trio of experimental diets until they seemed fully satisfied. The finding revealed that pikeperch can utilize dietary carbohydrate, but excessive dietary carbohydrate will adversely affect the growth performance. Abstract Bacterial biofilm formation is an important factor in bacterial resistance. The commonly used methods to inhibit bacterial biofilms are synthetic drugs such as antimicrobial peptides, but physical methods are often safe, non‐toxic and simple to prepare. This work proposes an environmentally friendly method to use electret films to provide a stable electric field during the formation of bacterial biofilms, inhibit the formation of bacterial biofilms through the action of the electric field and weaken the adhesion of bacterial biofilms. The total amount of Staphylococcus aureus biofilm decreased by 20% compared to the control group after the treatment of positive electret. The distribution of exopolysaccharides showed that the activity of biofilm also decreased. In addition, the negative electret can also inhibit the formation of bacterial biofilm. The result can be generalised to other Gram‐positive bacteria and could contribute to reduce the resistance of bacteria, improve the effect of related antibiotics, reduce the dosage of antibiotics and reduce the side effects of drugs.

To investigate the ameliorative effects and mechanism of Lycium barbarum polysaccharide (LBP) on growth performance, oxidative stress, and lipid deposition in common carp (Cyprinus carpio) fed with high-fat diets, fish with an initial weight of 5.29 ± 0.12 g were divided into five experimental groups—including normal-fat diets, high-fat diets, and high-fat diets—supplemented with LBP (0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 g/kg) for 8 weeks. The results showed that high-fat diets resulted in significant decreases in final body weight, weight gain rate, and specific growth rate of fish, as well as causing a significant decrease in hepatic total antioxidant capacity, catalase, and glutathione peroxidase activities. These changes were accompanied by a significant decrease in lipase activity and ATP level and a significant increase in malondialdehyde content. The expression levels of lipid metabolism-related genes (acetyl coenzyme A carboxylase 1, stearoyl coenzyme A desaturase 1, fat synthase, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ, fructofuranose bisphosphatase, and glucose-6-phosphatase) were also markedly elevated by high-fat diets. Supplementation with 0.5–2.0 g/kg LBP in high-fat diets improved the reduced growth performance, increased hepatic total antioxidant enzymes, catalase, and glutathione peroxidase activities, and lowered malondialdehyde level in fish fed with high-fat diets. Additionally, dietary supplementation with LBP significantly downregulated hepatic gene expression levels of acetyl coenzyme A carboxylase 1, stearoyl coenzyme A desaturase 1, fat synthase, sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ, fructofuranose bisphosphatase, and glucose-6-phosphatase. In conclusion, fish fed with high-fat diets demonstrated impaired growth performance, antioxidant capacity, and lipid metabolism, and dietary supplementation with 0.5–2.0 g/kg LBP ameliorated the impairments induced by high-fat diets.

Facing the significant challenge of 3D object detection in complex weather conditions and road environments, existing algorithms based on single-frame point cloud data struggle to achieve desirable results. These methods typically focus on spatial relationships within a single frame, overlooking the semantic correlations and spatiotemporal continuity between consecutive frames. This leads to discontinuities and abrupt changes in the detection outcomes. To address this issue, this paper proposes a multi-frame 3D object detection algorithm based on a deformable spatiotemporal Transformer. Specifically, a deformable cross-scale Transformer module is devised, incorporating a multi-scale offset mechanism that non-uniformly samples features at different scales, enhancing the spatial information aggregation capability of the output features. Simultaneously, to address the issue of feature misalignment during multi-frame feature fusion, a deformable cross-frame Transformer module is proposed. This module incorporates independently learnable offset parameters for different frame features, enabling the model to adaptively correlate dynamic features across multiple frames and improve the temporal information utilization of the model. A proposal-aware sampling algorithm is introduced to significantly increase the foreground point recall, further optimizing the efficiency of feature extraction. The obtained multi-scale and multi-frame voxel features are subjected to an adaptive fusion weight extraction module, referred to as the proposed mixed voxel set extraction module. This module allows the model to adaptively obtain mixed features containing both spatial and temporal information. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is validated on the KITTI, nuScenes, and self-collected urban datasets. The proposed algorithm achieves an average precision improvement of 2.1% over the latest multi-frame-based algorithms.

Background: Studies have shown that the circulating tumor cells (CTCs) play a key role for invasion and formation of distant metastases in prostate cancer (PCa). However, few CTCs-related genes (CRGs) have been developed for biochemical recurrence (BCR) prediction and clinical applications of PCa patients. Materials and methods: Bioinformatics analysis with public PCa datasets were used to investigate the relationship between the differentially expressed CRGs and BCR. Lasso-COX regression analysis was used to constructed and validated a CRGs-based BCR prediction signature for PCa. Single-cell data were used to validate the expression levels of signature genes in different cell types and then explored the cell-cell communication relationships. Finally, the expression levels of signature genes were verified and the CRGs involved in immunotherapy response were further identified. Results: Thirteen CRGs were differentially expressed and closely associated with BCR in PCa. Then we constructed and validated a BCR prediction signature for PCa patients based on 3 differentially expressed CRGs (EMID1, SPP1 and UBE2C), and the signature was an independent factor to predict BCR for PCa. Single-cell data showed the specific expression patterns of the signature genes, while the SPP1 pathway plays an important role in cell-cell communication. Further analyses suggested UBE2C was highly expressed in BCR group and high expression of UBE2C had a better response for patients who received immunotherapy. Moreover, the expression levels of UBE2C in CTCs were higher than other cells and tissues, indicated that UBE2C may affect the BCR event of PCa patients through CTCs. Conclusion: Our findings demonstrated that CRGs were significantly associated with BCR and immunotherapy efficacy in PCa and CRGs may influence the BCR event through CTCs.

Abstract Background and objective Thrombin-antithrombin complex (TAT) is a prethrombotic marker, and its application in ischemic stroke is still uncertain. The purpose of this systematic review and meta-analysis is to evaluate the relationship between plasma TAT and ischemic stroke base on the current evidence. Methods A systematic literature search was conducted for searching the relative studies that investigated the association of TAT and ischemic stroke in PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane library databases. Mean difference and 95% confidence interval as the effect sizes were synthesized by random effects model in Review Manager (RevMan) Version 5.4. The heterogeneity was investigated using the chi-square test and the possible sources of heterogeneity were explored by sensitivity analysis and meta-regression. The publication bias was estimated by Egger’s tests. Results A total of 12 eligible studies were included involving 1431 stroke cases and 532 healthy controls, of which six studies were eventually included in the meta-analysis. Plasma TAT in patients with ischemic stroke was significantly higher than that in healthy controls (MD 5.31, 95% CI = 4.12–6.51, P < 0.0001, I 2 = 97.8%). There is a difference of TAT level in the same period among cardioembolic, lacunar, and atherothrombotic stroke (all P < 0.0001), in which the cardioembolic stroke with the highest level. Meanwhile, it is significant of TAT levels among various phases of cardioembolic stroke and the acute phase are markedly elevated (MD 7.75, 95CI%, 6.07–9.43, P < 0.001). However, no difference was found in the atherothrombotic (P = 0.13) and lacunar stroke (P = 0.34). Besides, the higher TAT level is closely related to the poor prognosis of patients with ischemic stroke, including higher recurrence, mortality, unfavorable recovery (modified Rankin scale > 2), and poor revascularization. Conclusions This study suggested that plasma TAT levels are different in ischemic stroke subtypes, which are closely associated with the progression and might have an effect on the prognosis. Background The renin‐angiotensin system plays a crucial role in the development of heart failure, and Ang II (angiotensin II) acts as the critical effector of the renin‐angiotensin system in regulating cardiac fibrosis. However, the mechanisms of cardiac fibrosis are complex and still not fully understood. IGF1R (insulin‐like growth factor 1 receptor) has multiple functions in maintaining cardiovascular homeostasis, and low‐dose IGF1 treatment is effective in relieving Ang II–induced cardiac fibrosis. Here, we aimed to investigate the molecular mechanism of IGF1R in Ang II–induced cardiac fibrosis. Methods and Results Using primary mouse cardiac microvascular endothelial cells and fibroblasts, in vitro experiments were performed. Using C57BL/6J mice and clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/CRISPR‐associated 9 (Cas9)‐mediated IGF1R heterozygous knockout (Igf1r+/−) mice, cardiac fibrosis mouse models were induced by Ang II for 2 weeks. The expression of IGF1R was examined by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, immunohistochemistry, and Western blot. Mice heart histologic changes were evaluated using Masson and picro sirius red staining. Fibrotic markers and signal molecules indicating the function of the Akt (protein kinase B)/ERK (extracellular signal‐regulated kinase)/nuclear factor‐κB pathway were detected using quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and Western blot. RNA sequencing was used to explore IGF1R‐mediated target genes in the hearts of mice, and the association of IGF1R and G‐protein–coupled receptor kinase 5 was identified by coimmunoprecipitation. More important, blocking IGF1R signaling significantly suppressed endothelial‐mesenchymal transition in primary mouse cardiac microvascular endothelial cells and mice in response to transforming growth factor‐β1 or Ang II, respectively. Deficiency or inhibition of IGF1R signaling remarkably attenuated Ang II–induced cardiac fibrosis in primary mouse cardiac fibroblasts and mice. We further observed that the patients with heart failure exhibited higher blood levels of IGF1 and IGF1R than healthy individuals. Moreover, Ang II treatment significantly increased cardiac IGF1R in wild type mice but led to a slight downregulation in Igf1r+/− mice. Interestingly, IGF1R deficiency significantly alleviated cardiac fibrosis in Ang II–treated mice. Mechanistically, the phosphorylation level of Akt and ERK was upregulated in Ang II–treated mice, whereas blocking IGF1R signaling in mice inhibited these changes of Akt and ERK phosphorylation. Concurrently, phosphorylated p65 of nuclear factor‐κB exhibited similar alterations in the corresponding group of mice. Intriguingly, IGF1R directly interacted with G‐protein–coupled receptor kinase 5, and this association decreased ≈50% in Igf1r+/− mice. In addition, Grk5 deletion downregulated expression of the Akt/ERK/nuclear factor‐κB signaling pathway in primary mouse cardiac fibroblasts. Conclusions IGF1R signaling deficiency alleviates Ang II–induced cardiac fibrosis, at least partially through inhibiting endothelial‐mesenchymal transition via the Akt/ERK/nuclear factor‐κB pathway. Interestingly, G‐protein–coupled receptor kinase 5 associates with IGF1R signaling directly, and it concurrently acts as an IGF1R downstream effector. This study suggests the promising potential of IGF1R as a therapeutic target for cardiac fibrosis.

In the process of coal mining, one of the main reasons for the high labor intensity of workers and the frequent occurrence of casualties is the low level of intelligence of coal mining equipment. As the core equipment in the process of coal mining, the intelligence level of shearers directly affects the safety production and mining efficiency of coal mines. Coal and rock recognition technology is the core technology used to realize the intelligentization of shearers, which is an urgent technical problem to be solved in the field of coal mining. In this paper, coal seam images, rock stratum images, and coal–rock mixed-layer images of a coal mining area are taken as the research object, and key technologies such as the construction of a sample image library, classification and recognition, and semantic segmentation are studied by using the relevant theoretical knowledge of artificial neural network models. Firstly, the BP neural network is used to classify and identify coal seam images, rock stratum images, and coal–rock mixed-layer images, so as to distinguish which of the current mining targets of a shearer is the coal seam, rock stratum, or coal–rock mixed layer. Because different mining objectives will lead to different working modes of a shearer, it is necessary to maintain normal power to cut coal when encountering a coal seam, to stop working when encountering rock stratum, and to cut coal along the boundary between a coal seam and rock stratum when encountering a coal–rock mixed stratum. Secondly, the DeepLabv3+ model is used to perform semantic segmentation experiments on the coal–rock mixed-layer images. The purpose is to find out the distribution of coal and rocks in the coal–rock mixed layer in the coal mining area, so as to provide technical support for the automatic adjustment height of the shearer. Finally, the research in this paper achieved a 97.16% recognition rate in the classification and recognition experiment of the coal seam images, rock stratum images, and coal–rock mixed-layer images and a 91.2% accuracy in the semantic segmentation experiment of the coal–rock mixed-layer images. The research results of the two experiments provide key technical support for improving the intelligence level of shearers.

With the increasing popularity of electric/hybrid vehicles and the rapid development of 3C electronics, there is a growing interest in high-rate energy storage systems. The rapid development and widespread adoption of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) can be attributed to their numerous advantages, including high energy density, high operating voltage, environmental friendliness, and lack of memory effect. However, the progress of LIBs is currently hindered by the limitations of energy storage materials, which serve as vital components. Therefore, there is an urgent need to address the development of a new generation of high-rate energy storage materials in order to overcome these limitations and further advance LIB technology. Niobium-based oxides have emerged as promising candidates for the fabrication of fast-charging Li-ion batteries due to their excellent rate capability and long lifespan. This review paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the fundamentals, methodologies, and electrochemistries of niobium-based oxides, with a specific focus on the evolution and creation of crystal phases of Nb2O5, fundamental electrochemical behavior, and modification methods including morphology modulation, composite technology, and carbon coating. Furthermore, the review explores Nb2O5-derived compounds and related advanced characterization techniques. Finally, the challenges and issues in the development of niobium-based oxides for high-rate energy storage batteries are discussed, along with future research perspectives.

For game changing for future of large-scale energy storage technologies, sodium-ion and potassium-ion batteries provide a substitute to lithium-ion batteries. As an excellent candidate anode, MXene still suffers from the blockage of active sites caused by restacking of sheets. Herein, an in-situ decoration of MXene nanosheets with nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is introduced, to yield MXene@CNTs. The modification of nitrogen-doped CNTs not only prevents the restacking of MXene and increases ion accessibility but also improves the electrode’s overall conductivity, thereby enhancing electron conduction and ion diffusion kinetics significantly. Therefore, MXene@CNTs exhibits superior sodium/potassium-ion storage performance than pure MXene nanosheets. At 0.05 A g-1, it can deliver reversible capacities of 286 mAh g-1 for SIBs and 250 mAh g-1 for PIBs. This research illustrates the significance of the electrode architecture for electrochemical performances, and the in-situ growth strategy could provide some insight on searching for high-performance MXene-based anodes for SIBs and PIBs.

The thermal performance of a novel exterior coating material for commonly used grain and food-grain oil structures was investigated. Grain structures included a concrete squat silo and a concrete warehouse while the edible oil structure was a concrete sided tank. The exterior coating provided excellent moisture runoff and solar reflectance properties and is best described as a superamphiphobic self-cleaning passive subambient daytime radiative cooling (SSC-PSDRC) coating. The coating exhibited a remarkable subambient daytime cooling effect in various structures in different climatic regions. Compared with the roof surface temperatures of a cool white-coated concrete grain silo and a gray carbon iron-based edible oil storage tank, those of the PSDRC coated top surfaces could be reduced by 37 °C and 33 °C, respectively. The roof surface temperature of a warehouse painted with a cool-white coating—with a solar reflectance of 0.9 and an emissivity of 0.85—and that of a warehouse with the roof installed with aluminised polymer waterproof membranes were 19 °C and 18 °C higher than that of the PSDRC warehouse, respectively. Consequently, the interior temperature of the wheat pile in the PSDRC grain silo was 10 °C lower than that in the control squat silo. With the inner loop flow temperature control system operating, the interior air temperatures of the PSDRC west-facing separate space were 6 °C and 3 °C higher than those of the cool-white coated and control west-facing separate spaces, respectively. Even after the application of PSDRC coating for only a few days, the interior air temperature of the PSDRC oil storage tank was reduced by 38 °C, and the interior temperature of the oil storage tank was reduced by 4 °C. Furthermore, in practical applications, the coating showed impressive superamphiphobic self-cleaning capabilities and super aging resistance. The wide applications of the coating would have far-reaching, global implications for maintaining grain and edible oil products, particularly in the sub-tropical climates.

Abstract Background Bimaxillary surgery is often performed for class III malocclusion, and its complex influence on the upper airway has been well considered. The aim of this research was to provide a scaled formula between upper airway volume changes and bone movements in Class III patients after orthognathic surgery. Materials and methods Using a retrospective study design, the investigators enrolled a total of 30 class III malocclusion patients who were undergoing bimaxillary surgery as the study subjects. The subjects included 15 males and 15 females, and their average age was 23.3 ± 3.4 years. CBCT (cone beam tomography) was performed both before and one year after the surgery for each patient. The changes in the soft palate, tongue and upper airway were measured by using CBCT data that was collected before and after surgery. 3D superimposition of CBCT was performed to calculate three-dimensional jaw movements. A multiple regression analysis was used to calculate the quantitative relationship between airway volume changes and jaw movements. Results The nasopharynx airway volume was observed to be increased by 1064.0 ± 1336.2 mm3, whereas the retropalatal and retroglossal airway volumes were observed to be decreased by 1399.0 ± 2881.6 mm3 and 1433.8 ± 3043.4 mm3, respectively, after the surgery. One millimetre forward and downward movements of the PNS resulted in increases of 626.90 mm3 and 392.18 mm3 in nasopharynx airway volume, respectively. Moreover, one millimetre retrogression of the B point caused decreases of 314.6 mm3 and 656.6 mm3 in the retropalatal and retroglossal airway volume, respectively. The changes in the soft palate contributed to the decrease in the retropalatal airway volume, whereas the tongue compensated for the decrease in the retroglossal airway volume. Conclusion The movements of the PNS and B points could be used to predict upper airway volumetric changes in Class III patients after maxillary advancement and mandibular setback.

In the present work, a phase-field model was developed to investigate the influence of recrystallization on bubble evolution during irradiation. Considering the interaction between bubbles and grain boundary (GB), a set of modified Cahn-Hilliard and Allen-Cahn equations, with field variables and order parameters evolving in space and time, was used in this model. Both the kinetics of recrystallization characterized in experiments and point defects generated during cascade were incorporated in the model. The bubble evolution in recrystallized polycrystalline of U–Mo alloy was also investigated. The simulation results showed that GB with a large area fraction generated by recrystallization accelerates the formation and growth of bubbles. With the formation of new grains, gas atoms are swept and collected by GBs. The simulation results of bubble size and distribution are consistent with the experimental results.

As emerging markets, the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) participating countries have great development room for automobile industries. Yet the greater climate change pressure may hinder the development of the upstream and downstream industries chain of domestic automobile industries. Therefore, a sound carbon emission standard system should be established to guide carbon emission accounting, emissions management and so on. This study selects Singapore, Indonesia, Poland, South Africa, Pakistan as the typical research objects, and thereby analyzes the development status of carbon emissions standards in BRI participating countries’ automobile industries from the perspective of standard type, standard name, vehicle model range, target value, accounting boundaries, etc. In this paper, standard types are categorized based on management objects, such as fuel standard and carbon emissions standard. The accounting boundary, namely, the scope included in management, is divided into driving phase, life cycle phase and so on. In the meanwhile, based on comparative analysis method, China, United States (US) and the European Union (EU) are selected as the control group to study the existing problems of the carbon emission standards in BRI participating countries. The results show that the automobile industry of the BRI participating countries is still facing several problems to be solved, such as the lack of low-carbon technology, technical standard system of carbon emission, and the targeted carbon reduction policy framework, etc. Based on the above analysis results, policy recommendations have been proposed based on two categories of BRI participating countries to give scientific and reasonable advice for the construction of carbon emission standards for automobile industry.

Soft carbons have attracted extensive interests as competitive anodes for fast-charging sodium-ion batteries (SIBs); however, the high-rate performance is still restricted by their large ion migration barriers and sluggish reaction kinetics. Herein, we show a molecular design approach toward the fabrication of nitrogen and phosphorus codoped mesoporous soft carbon (NPSC). The key to this strategy lies in the chemical cross-linking reaction between polyphosphoric acid and p-phenylenediamine, associated with pyrolysis induced in-situ self-activation that creates mesoporous structures and rich heteroatoms within the carbon matrix. Thanks to the enlarged interlayer spacing, reduced ion diffusion length, and plentiful active sites, the obtained NPSC delivers a superb rate capacity of 215 mAh g−1 at 10 A g−1 and an ultralong cycle life of 4,700 cycles at 5 A g−1. Remarkably, the full cell shows 99% capacity retention during 100 continuous cycles, and maximum energy and power densities of 191 Wh kg−1 and 9.2 kW kg−1, respectively. We believe that such a synthetic protocol could pave a novel venue to develop soft carbons with unique properties for advanced SIBs.

Background. Early diagnosis of sepsis is the key to timely, targeted treatment. Cell population data (CPD) has been widely used in many diseases, but its predictive value for early diagnosis and the clinical outcome of sepsis remains unclear. Therefore, this paper discusses whether peripheral blood leukocyte parameters can be used as predictive indicators for early diagnosis and the clinical outcome of sepsis. Methods. A retrospective study of 45 patients with sepsis, 53 patients with nonseptic infections, and 86 healthy check-ups admitted to Gansu Provincial Hospital from January 2021 to June 2022 was done using a hematology analyzer. Results. The results of LYMPH#, HFLC#, IG#, NE-WX, LY-WX, LY-WY, and MO-WX showed better diagnostic efficiency in the sepsis group and nonseptic infection group. When the seven differential leukocyte parameters were used to establish diagnostic models, the sensitivity and specificity were 82.20% and 77.40%, respectively. The thermal safety of lithium-ion traction batteries is a highly concerning issue in the field of electric transportation. The large amount of gas emissions during the thermal runaway process of batteries has high safety hazards, such as fire and explosion. The quantitative analysis of emissions is one of the important challenges in testing and evaluating battery safety. Focusing on quantifying gas emissions using large-scale thermal propagation in battery modules and packs, based on the idea of cell result multiplication, this article conducts a thermal runaway emission analysis of a single cell and a module and compares the behavior of thermal runaway and gas emissions of the cell and module from the perspectives of temperature, pressure, gas composition, and battery morphology. The feasibility of the cell result multiplication method is verified from the perspective of experimental data.

Sperm proteins play vital roles in improving sperm freezing resilience in domestic animals. However, it remains poorly defined which proteins regulate the freezing resilience of spermatozoa in rams (Ovis aries). Here, we compared the proteome of ram sperm with a high cryopreservation recovery ratio (HCR) with that of ram sperm with a low cryopreservation recovery ratio (LCR) using a tandem mass tag-based quantitative proteomics approach. Bioinformatic analysis was performed to evaluate differentially expressed proteins (DEPs). A total of 2464 proteins were identified, and 184 DEPs were screened. Seventy-two proteins were higher in the LCR group. One hundred and twelve proteins were more abundant in the HCR group, and they were mainly involved in the regulation of oxidative phosphorylation and thermogenesis pathways. Proteins in high abundance in the HCR group included the S100A family, such as S100A8, S100A9, S100A14, and S100A16, effectively controlling for CA2+ and maintaining flagella structure; HYOU1 and PRDX1, which participate in antioxidant protection and anti-apoptosis to prevent cell death; and HSP90B1, which maintains cell activity and immune response. Our results could help illuminate the molecular mechanisms underlying cryopreservation of ram semen and expand the potential direction of cryopreservation of high-quality semen.

Cyromazine, an insect growth regulator, has been extensively used against the insect pests of livestock and households. Previously, it was observed that the continuous selection of cyromazine from the larval to the adult stage decreased the number of germline stem cells (GSCs) and cystoblasts (CBs) in the adult ovary. In addition, in this study, we observed that the number of primordial germ cells (PGCs) was also decreased in the larval ovary after treatment with cyromazine. However, the mechanism by which it affects the germ cells is yet to be explored. Consequently, to deeply investigate the effects of cyromazine on the germ cells, we performed tissue-specific RNA sequencing. Bioinformatics analysis revealed that the ecdysone signaling pathway was significantly influenced under cyromazine stress. Based on that, we screened and selected 14 ecdysone signaling responsive genes and silenced their expression in the germ cells only. Results of that showed a considerable reduction in the number of germ cells. Furthermore, we mixed exogenous 20E with the cyromazine-containing diet to rescue the ecdysone signaling. Our results supported that the application of exogenous 20E significantly rescued the germ cells in the transgenic lines. Therefore, this implies that the cyromazine decreased the number of germ cells by affecting the ecdysone signaling pathway.

The mammalian oviduct is functionally highly diverse during the estrus cycle. It provides a suitable milieu for oocyte maturation, sperm capacitation, fertilization, early embryo development and transportation. While there have been many studies of molecular mechanisms on the kidding number of goats, a systematic analysis by which the underlying circular RNAs (circRNAs) changes in the oviduct related to prolificacy traits is lacking. Herein, we present a comprehensive circRNA atlas of the oviduct among high- and low-fecundity goats in the follicular phase (FH vs. FL), luteal phase (LH vs. LL), and estrus cycle (FH vs. LH; FL vs. LL) to unravel their potential regulatory mechanisms in improving kidding number. We generated RNA sequencing data, and identified 4,078 circRNAs from twenty sampled Yunshang black goats. Many of these circRNAs are exon-derived and differentially expressed between each comparison group. Subsequently, eight differentially expressed (DE) circRNAs were validated by RT‒qPCR, which was consistent with the RNA-seq data. GO and KEGG enrichment analyses suggested that numerous host genes of DE circRNAs were involved in the hormone secretion, gamete production, fertilization, and embryo development processes. The competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) interaction network analysis revealed that 2,673 circRNA–miRNA–mRNA axes (including 15 DE circRNAs, 14 miRNAs, and 1,699 mRNAs) were formed, and several target genes derived from the ceRNA network were associated with oviduct functions and reproduction, including SMAD1, BMPR1B, IGF1, REV1, and BMP2K. Furthermore, miR-15a-5p, miR-181b-5p, miR-23b-5p, miR-204-3p, and miR-145-5p might play important roles in reproduction. Finally, a novel circRNA, circIQCG, was identified as potentially involved in embryo development. Overall, our study provides a resource of circRNAs to understand the oviductal function and its connection to prolificacy trait of goats in the differentiation estrus cycle.

The environment perception algorithm in autonomous driving is trained in the source domain, leading to domain drift and reduced detection accuracy in the target domain due to shifts in background feature distribution. To address this issue, a domain adaptive object detection algorithm based on feature uncertainty is proposed, which can improve the detection performance of object detection algorithms in unlabeled data. Firstly, a local alignment module based on channel information is proposed, which can obtain the model’s uncertainty about different domain data based on the feature channels obtained through the feature extraction network, achieving adaptive dynamic local alignment. Secondly, an instance-level alignment module guided by local feature uncertainty is proposed, which can obtain the corresponding instance-level uncertainty through ROI mapping. To improve the domain invariance of bounding box regression, a multi-class, multi-regression instance-level uncertainty alignment module is proposed, which can achieve spatial decoupling of classification and regression tasks, further improving the model’s domain adaptive ability. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is validated on Cityscapes, KITTI, and real vehicle data.

The existence of information silos between vehicles and parking lots means that Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) repeatedly drive to seek available parking slots, resulting in wasted resources, time consumption and traffic congestion, especially in high-density parking scenarios. To address this problem, a novel UGV parking planning method is proposed in this paper, which consists of cooperative path planning, conflict resolution strategy, and optimal parking slot allocation, intending to avoid ineffective parking seeking by vehicles and releasing urban traffic pressure. Firstly, the parking lot induction model was established and the IACA–IA was developed for optimal parking allocation. The IACA–IA was generated using the improved ant colony algorithm (IACA) and immunity algorithm. Compared with the first-come-first-served algorithm (FCFS), the normal ant colony algorithm (NACA), and the immunity algorithm (IA), the IACA–IA was able to allocate optimal slots at a lower cost and in less time in complex scenarios with multi-entrance parking lots. Secondly, an improved conflict-based search algorithm (ICBS) was designed to efficiently resolve the conflict of simultaneous path planning for UGVs. The dual-layer objective expansion strategy is the core of the ICBS, which takes the total path cost of UGVs in the extended constraint tree as the first layer objective, and the optimal driving characteristics of a single UGV as the second layer objective. Finally, three kinds of load-balancing and unbalanced parking scenarios were constructed to test the proposed method, and the performance of the algorithm was demonstrated from three aspects, including computation, quality and timeliness. The results show that the proposed method requires less computation, has higher path quality, and is less time-consuming in high-density scenarios, which provide a reasonable and efficient solution for innovative urban mobility.

Intermuscular bones (IBs) are small, hard-boned spicules located in the muscle tissue that mainly exist in the myosepta of lower teleosts, which hurt the edibleness and economic value of fish. The study of the development of IBs is very important for freshwater aquaculture fish, but the molecular mechanism of its formation and the key regulatory genes remain unclear. In this study, we first constructed two types of zebrafish mutants (the mutants losing IBs and the mutants with partial deletion of IBs) by knocking out bmp6. We then carried out a transcriptomic analysis to reveal the role of bmp6 in the developmental mechanism of IBs; we used the caudal musculoskeletal tissues of these mutants and wild-type zebrafish at three development stages (20, 45, and 60 dph) to perform transcriptomic analysis. The results showed that the deficiency of bmp6 upregulated sik1 and activated the TNF-A signaling via the NF-KB pathway, which inhibited the development of osteoblasts and promoted osteoclast formation, thereby inhibiting the formation of IBs. These results provided insights to understand the role of bmp6 in the development of IBs in zebrafish and are useful for selective breeding of IBs in cyprinids.

The pike-perch (Sander lucioperca) is a native fish species in European and Asian river basins. Owing to its fast growth rate, strong adaptability, and high nutritional value, it has become a promising candidate species for aquaculture. However, information on the genetic background of these wild populations is still limited, hindering the protection and sustainable utilisation of genetic resources in China. The aim of this study was to screen a set of microsatellite markers and assess the genetic variation of six pike-perch populations in China. A total of 92,162 pairs of microsatellite primers were designed. Among them, dinucleotide repeats were the most abundant microsatellites (81.47%), followed by trinucleotides (8.21%), tetranucleotides (7.59%), and pentanucleotide repeat microsatellites (2.73%). Of the 200 pairs of synthesised primers, 122 exhibited obvious repeat-length polymorphisms. Thirty polymorphic markers were selected to analyse six populations of pike-perch collected from China. The average number of alleles (Na) and effective alleles (Ne) per population varied from 2.333(WR) to 7.800(UL) and from 1.787(KL) to 4.435(UL), respectively. The observed heterozygosity (Ho) and polymorphism information content (PIC) ranged from 0.377(KL) to 0.796(TL) and from 0.304(KL) to 0.715(UL), respectively. The first Mars exploration mission of China (Tianwen-1) is scheduled to be launched in 2020; a charged particle telescope, the Mars Energetic Particle Analyzer (MEPA), is carried as one of the payloads on the orbiter. The MEPA is designed to measure solar energetic particles (SEPs) and galactic cosmic rays (GCRs) in the near-Mars space and in the transfer orbit from Earth to Mars. Before the launch, the MEPA was calibrated in ground experiments with radioactive sources, electronic pulses, and accelerator beams. The calibration parameters, such as energy conversion constants, threshold values for the triggers, and particle identification criteria, were determined and have been stored for onboard use. The validity of the calibration parameters has been verified with radioactive sources and beams. The calibration results indicate that the MEPA can measure charged particles reliably, as designed, and that it can satisfy the requirements of the Tianwen-1 mission.

CAN has become the most extensive fieldbus for contemporary automotive applications due to its outstanding reliability and flexibility. However, the standard CAN protocol does not provide sufficient security measures and is vulnerable to eavesdropping, replay, flooding, and denial of service attacks. In order to effectively detect whether the CAN bus is attacked, and to filter malicious messages when subjected to flooding attacks. The characteristics of vehicle CAN bus message communication were analyzed, and an intrusion detection method was proposed, which could effectively perform intrusion detection and malicious message filtering. Through experimental verification, the method can detect whether the CAN bus is attacked by 100%, and the accuracy of malicious packet filtering can reach over 99%.

The Ordovician strike-slip faults system in the Tahe area of the Tarim Basin provides an important opportunity for using 3D seismic data to document the structural characteristics, formation, and evolution of strike-slip faults and their relationship with oil and gas. With high-resolution 3D seismic data, the strike-slip faults are interpreted, classified, and described using the seismic coherence technique. The geometric characteristics, active periods, formation, and evolution process of strike-slip faults are analyzed, and the relationship between strike-slip faults and hydrocarbon accumulation and charging is discussed in this research project. On the map, the primary strike-slip faults on the east and west sides of the Tahe area are relatively sheared to each other, showing an “X” type conjugate fault, and the secondary strike-slip faults are scattered. In the cross-section, the primary strike-slip faults are inserted downward into the Cambrian basement and up to Devonian, and “Single line”, “Y”, “Flower”, and “Parallel lines” structures are observed. Bounded by the top of Ordovician, the deep and shallow parts are vertically segmented, with different structure styles. The switch of the structural style of strike-slip faults is attributed to principal stress. A deep “positive flower” shape of faults was developed in the mid-Ordovician period under the effect of compressive stress. Meanwhile, a shallow “negative flower” shape of faults was developed from the late Ordovician to the mid-Devonian period under tensile stress. The “Compound Flower” shape of deep “positive flower” shape and shallow “negative flower” shape formed by compressive and tensile activities has a wider fracture range, which leads to deep fluid migration and shallow karstification. There are two combinations of deep Ordovician strike-slip faults in the section: “Lower single branch-upper flower type” and “lower single branch-upper single branch type”. The primary faults of the former insertion into the Cambrian basement are associated with homologous secondary faults, while the latter has no derived secondary faults. It has an important impact on reservoir reconstruction and distribution, and the reservoir is controlled by faults. Strike-slip faults not only control the channel of oil and gas migration, but also the horizontal and vertical distribution of oil and gas. The closer the carbonate reservoir is to the primary fault, the more likely it is to form a high yield area. There are four types of oil and gas charging models controlled by strike-slip faults. In the area where the structure is high and the strike-slip faults are sheared relatively to each other, the larger the scale of faults, the more conducive it would be to oil and gas migration and accumulation. Among them, the charging model related to the primary fault has higher oil and gas migration efficiency. This research contributes to analyzing the relationship between strike-slip faults and oil and gas as well as playing a significant role in applications of oil and gas exploration in practical works.
