Objectives: The International Society for Bipolar Disorders Big Data Task Force assembled leading researchers in the field of bipolar disorder (BD), machine learning, and big data with extensive experience to evaluate the rationale of machine learning and big data analytics strategies for BD. Method: A task force was convened to examine and integrate findings from the scientific literature related to machine learning and big data based studies to clarify terminology and to describe challenges and potential applications in the field of BD. We also systematically searched PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science for articles published up to January 2019 that used machine learning in BD. Results: The results suggested that big data analytics has the potential to provide risk calculators to aid in treatment decisions and predict clinical prognosis, including suicidality, for individual patients. This approach can advance diagnosis by enabling discovery of more relevant data‐driven phenotypes, as well as by predicting transition to the disorder in high‐risk unaffected subjects. We also discuss the most frequent challenges that big data analytics applications can face, such as heterogeneity, lack of external validation and replication of some studies, cost and non‐stationary distribution of the data, and lack of appropriate funding. Conclusion: Machine learning‐based studies, including atheoretical data‐driven big data approaches, provide an opportunity to more accurately detect those who are at risk, parse‐relevant phenotypes as well as inform treatment selection and prognosis. In recent years, with the development of enterprises to the Internet, the demand for cloud database is also growing, especially how to capture data quickly and efficiently through the database. In order to improve the data structure at all levels in the process of database analysis engine, this paper realizes the accurate construction and rapid analysis of cloud database based on big data analysis engine technology and deep learning wolf pack greedy algorithm. Through the deep learning strategy, a big data analysis engine system based on the deep learning model is constructed. The functions of deep learning technology, wolf greedy algorithm, and data analysis strategy in the cloud database analysis engine system are analyzed, as well as the functions of the whole analysis engine system. Finally, the accuracy and response speed of the cloud database analysis engine system are tested according to the known clustering data. The results show that compared with the traditional data analysis engine system with character search as the core, the database oriented big data analysis engine system based on a deep learning model and wolf swarm greedy algorithm has faster response speed and intelligence. Raman spectral detection has emerged as a powerful analytical technique due to the advantages of fast acquisition, non-invasion, and low cost. The on-site application is highly dependent on Raman automatic analysis algorithm. However, current Raman algorithm research mainly focuses on small sample Raman spectroscopy (RS) identification with defects of low accuracy and detection rate. It is also difficult to realize rapid RS measurement under big data. In this paper, rapid recognition of mixtures in complex environments was realized by establishing a fast Raman analysis model based on deep learning through data training, self-learning, and parameter optimization. The cloud network architecture was proposed to apply deep learning to real-time detection using Smartphone-based Raman devices. Currently, much of the world's IVF data is stuck in paper charts, owned and sold by private IVF clinics, with images taken on different microscopes, and cropped any number of ways to remove patient data. Image data (if collected at all) is almost never connected to the IVF lab KPI data, which is almost never connected to the clinical data. Background: With the explosive growth of global data, the term Big Data describes the enormous size of dataset through the detailed analysis. The capturing of images with multi-directional views initiates the image set classification which is an attractive research study in the volumetricbased medical image processing., Methods: This paper proposes the Local N-ary Ternary Patterns (LNTP) and Modified Deep Belief Network (MDBN) to alleviate the dimensionality and robustness issues. Initially, the proposed LNTP-MDBN utilizes the filtering technique to identify and remove the dependent and independent noise from the images. Then, the application of smoothening and the normalization techniques on the filtered image improves the intensity of the images., Results: The LNTP-based feature extraction categorizes the heterogeneous images into different categories and extracts the features from each category. Modern systems have been focusing on improving the quality of life for people. Hence, new technologies and systems are currently utilized extensively in different sectors of our societies, such as education and medicine. One of the medical applications is using computer vision technology to help blind people in their daily endeavors and reduce their frequent dependence on their close people and also create a state of independence for visually impaired people in conducting daily financial operations. Motivated by this fact, the work concentrates on assisting the visually impaired to distinguish among Iraqi banknotes. In essence, we employ computer vision in conjunction with Deep Learning algorithms to build a multiclass classification model for classifying the banknotes. This system will produce specific vocal commands that are equivalent to the categorized banknote image, and then inform the visually impaired people of the denomination of each banknote. To classify the Iraqi banknotes, it is important to know that they have two sides: the Arabic side and the English side, which is considered one of the important issues for human-computer interaction (HCI) in constructing the classification model. In this paper, we use a database, which comprises 3,961 image samples of the seven Iraqi paper currency categories. Furthermore, a nineteen layers Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is trained using this database in order to distinguish among the denominations of the banknotes. In big data era, multi-source heterogeneous data become the biggest obstacle to data sharing due to its high dimension and inconsistent structure. Using text classification to solve the ontology construction and mapping problem of multi-source heterogeneous data can not only reduce manual operation, but also improve the accuracy and efficiency. This paper proposes an ontology construction and mapping scheme based on hybrid neural network and autoencoder. Firstly, the proposed text classification method uses the multi-core convolutional neural network to capture local features and uses the improved Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory network to compensate for the shortcomings of the convolutional neural network that cannot obtain context-related information. Secondly, a similarity matching method is used for ontology mapping, which integrate autoencoder to improve anti-interference ability. With advances in science and technology and changes in industry, research on promising future technologies has emerged as important. Furthermore, with the advent of a ubiquitous and smart environment, governments and enterprises are required to predict future promising technologies on which new important core technologies will be developed. Therefore, this study aimed to establish science and technology development strategies and support business activities by predicting future promising technologies using big data and deep learning models. The names of the "TOP 10 Emerging Technologies" from 2018 to 2021 selected by the World Economic Forum were used as keywords. Next, patents collected from the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the Science Citation Index (SCI) papers collected from the Web of Science database were analyzed using a time-series forecast. For each technology, the number of patents and SCI papers in 2022, 2023 and 2024 were predicted using the long short-term memory model with the number of patents and SCI papers from 1980 to 2021 as input data. Promising technologies are determined based on the predicted number of patents and SCI papers for the next three years. Keywords characterizing future promising technologies are extracted by analyzing abstracts of patent data collected for each technology and the term frequency-inverse document frequency is measured for each patent abstract. The research results can help business managers make optimal decisions in the present situation and provide researchers with an understanding of the direction of technology development. The cultivation of creativity is closely related to language learning. How to design the creativity promotion mechanism of English teaching in the public environment is the challenge faced by English teachers. With the advent of the era of big data, English teachers can apply the latest research results to classroom teaching. For example, the rational use of social media helps students to learn and communicate in the language, cultivate students' creativity in learning English, and improves the quality of teaching. Corporate social media has become the most important way for corporate employees to record their lives, express opinions, share and communicate, and it is also one of the reliable and real-time sources of big data that reflects the true state of English learners. Real, accurate, and timely enterprise social media big data samples contain an enormous educational value, providing more possibilities for educational research. From the perspective of value, through sentiment analysis, topic mining, social network analysis, etc. on social media big data, learner portraits can be realized, thereby providing decision-making reference and support for stakeholders. This paper first builds a learning interest classification model based on TCNN-GRU deep learning, collects experimental data sets from an online English learner's social media platform and performs learning interest classification and labeling, and then uses the TCNN-GRU model to determine the user's learning interest tendency. On this basis, the concept of learning interest index is further proposed, and a neural network-based corporate social platform English learner portrait model is established. The experimental results show that, compared with the traditional machine learning model, convolutional neural network model, and recurrent neural network model, the TCNN-GRU model can obtain better results in learning interest classification. The internet of things (IoT) represents a rapidly expanding sector within computing, facilitating the interconnection of myriad smart devices autonomously. However, the complex interplay of IoT systems and their interdisciplinary nature has presented novel security concerns (e.g. privacy risks, device vulnerabilities, Botnets). In response, there has been a growing reliance on machine learning and deep learning methodologies to transition from conventional connectivitycentric IoT security paradigms to intelligence-driven security frameworks. This paper undertakes a comprehensive comparative analysis of recent advancements in the creation of IoT botnets. It introduces a novel taxonomy of attacks structured around the attack life-cycle, aiming to enhance the understanding and mitigation of IoT botnet threats. Furthermore, the paper surveys contemporary techniques employed for early-stage detection of IoT botnets, with a primary emphasis on machine learning and deep learning approaches. These days, the integration of big data and information systems enables industries such as sports, health, and medical sciences in resource optimization by enhancing their operational efficiency. Personalized health management, driven by advancements in big data analysis, feature extraction, and internet of things (IoT) has emerged as a prominent trend in the sports industry. Based on these advancements, this paper focuses on leveraging machine vision, big data, and IoT to conduct a comprehensive study for extracting football players' offense features by aiming to improve accuracy and ensure the players' safety in sports industry. First, this paper discusses a framework for sports health, which is based on big data analysis. Next, we discuss the use of big data and feature extraction for IoT and sports health informatics. The action image of an offense for football players is collected by an intelligent camera, and the gathered imaging code is read and analyzed by radio frequency technology. Using the recognition method of offense action using deep learning and motion information, the offense action's image features and the three-color features of video RGB are fused into deep learning features to complete the offense action recognition. Based on the offense action recognition, the Harris 3D operator is applied to construct the sequence potential function of the offense action, and the sequence possible function of the offense action is used as the operational technique for this purpose. In addition, the AdaBoost algorithm is used to comprehensively screen the characterized data of athletes' offense actions, and the filtered data are used as training samples to complete the feature extraction of athletes' offense actions. The experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively reduce the recognition error of offense action and improve the efficiency of action's feature extraction and the accuracy of feature extraction. The goal is to use the massive amounts of data created by digital education systems to develop intelligent and adaptable learning environments that are particularly suited to each student's requirements. The rapid digitization of education systems has led to the proliferation of educational big data, presenting unprecedented opportunities to reshape learning environments into intelligent, responsive spaces that adapt to the needs of individual learners. This paper explores the integration of advanced deep learning techniques with educational big data analytics to forge the path towards futuristic smart learning ecosystems. By leveraging robust datasets derived from a myriad of educational interactions, ranging from student performance metrics to engagement patterns in digital learning platforms, we propose a multi-tiered analytical framework that harnesses the predictive power of deep learning. We commence by elucidating the scope and scale of educational big data, highlighting its potential to provide granular insights into student learning processes. The paper then delineates the architecture of a deep learning-based analytical model designed to process complex, multidimensional educational datasets. This model applies state-of-the-art algorithms to perform tasks such as predictive analytics for student performance, personalized content recommendation, and real-time engagement monitoring. Central to our discussion is the application of convolutional neural networks (CNNs), recurrent neural networks (RNNs), and deep belief networks (DBNs) in deciphering patterns and trends that escape traditional analytical methodologies. We emphasize the capacity of these techniques to capture the subtleties of learner behavior and to facilitate the development of adaptive learning pathways. Background: Artificial intelligence (AI) can radically change almost every aspect of the human experience. In the medical field, there are numerous applications of AI and subsequently, in a relatively short time, significant progress has been made. Cardiology is not immune to this trend, this fact being supported by the exponential increase in the number of publications in which the algorithms play an important role in data analysis, pattern discovery, identification of anomalies, and therapeutic decision making. Furthermore, with technological development, there have appeared new models of machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DP) that are capable of exploring various applications of AI in cardiology, including areas such as prevention, cardiovascular imaging, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, and many others. In this sense, the present article aims to provide a general vision of the current state of AI use in cardiology. Results: We identified and included a subset of 200 papers directly relevant to the current research covering a wide range of applications. Thus, this paper presents AI applications in cardiovascular imaging, arithmology, clinical or emergency cardiology, cardiovascular prevention, and interventional procedures in a summarized manner. Recent studies from the highly scientific literature demonstrate the feasibility and advantages of using AI in different branches of cardiology. Conclusions: The integration of AI in cardiology offers promising perspectives for increasing accuracy by decreasing the error rate and increasing efficiency in cardiovascular practice. From predicting the risk of sudden death or the ability to respond to cardiac resynchronization therapy to the diagnosis of pulmonary embolism or the early detection of valvular diseases, AI algorithms have shown their potential to mitigate human error and provide feasible solutions. At the same time, limits imposed by the small samples studied are highlighted alongside the challenges presented by ethical implementation; these relate to legal implications regarding responsibility and decision making processes, ensuring patient confidentiality and data security. The tasks of few-shot, one-shot, and zero-shot learning—or collectively "low-shot learning" (LSL)—at first glance are quite similar to the long-standing task of class imbalanced learning; specifically, they aim to learn classes for which there is little labeled data available. Motivated by this similarity, we conduct a survey to review the recent literature for works which combine these fields in one of two ways, either addressing the obstacle of class imbalance within a LSL setting, or utilizing LSL techniques or frameworks in order to combat class imbalance within other settings. In our survey of over 60 papers in a wide range of applications from January 2020 to July 2023 (inclusive), we examine and report methodologies and experimental results, find that most works report performance at or above their respective state-of-the-art, and highlight current research gaps which hold potential for future work, especially those involving the use of LSL techniques in imbalanced tasks. To this end, we emphasize the lack of works utilizing LSL approaches based on large language models or semantic data, and works using LSL for big-data imbalanced tasks. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Existing macroeconomic forecasting methods primarily focus on the characteristics of economic data, but they overlook the energy-related features concealed behind these economic characteristics, which may lead to inaccurate GDP predictions. Therefore, this paper meticulously analyzes the relationship between energy big data and economic data indicators, explores the coupling feature mining of energy big data and economic data, and constructs features coupling economic and energy data. Targeting the nonlinear variation coupling features in China's quarterly GDP data and using the long short-term memory (LSTM) neural network model based on deep learning, we employ wavelet analysis technology (WA) to decompose selected macroeconomic variables and construct a prediction model combining LSTM and WA, which is further compared with multiple benchmark models. The research findings show that, in terms of quarterly GDP data prediction, the combined deep learning model and wavelet analysis significantly outperform other methods. When processing structurally complex, nonlinear, and multi-variable data, the LSTM and WA combined prediction model demonstrate better generalization capabilities, with its prediction accuracy generally surpassing other benchmark models. The default scheduler of Apache Hadoop demonstrates operational inefficiencies when connecting external sources and processing transformation jobs. This paper has proposed a novel scheduler for enhancement of the performance of the Hadoop Yet Another Resource Negotiator (YARN) scheduler, called the Adaptive Node and Container Aware Scheduler (ANACRAC), that aligns cluster resources to the demands of the applications in the real world. The approach performs to leverage the user-provided configurations as a unique design to apportion nodes, or containers within the nodes, to application thresholds. Additionally, it provides the flexibility to the applications for selecting and choosing which node's resources they want to manage and adds limits to prevent threshold breaches by adding additional jobs as needed. Node or container awareness can be utilized individually or in combination to increase efficiency. On top of this, the resource availability within the node and containers can also be investigated.This paper also focuses on the elasticity of the containers and self-adaptiveness depending on the job type. The results proved that 15%-20% performance improvement was achieved compared with the node and container awareness feature of the ANACRAC. It has been validated that this ANACRAC scheduler demonstrates a 70%-90% performance improvement compared with the default Fair scheduler. Experimental results also demonstrated the success of the enhancement and a performance improvement in the range of 60% to 200% when applications were connected with external interfaces and high workloads. This paper presents the latest advances in machine learning techniques and highlights deep learning (DL) methods in recent studies. This technology has recently received great attention as it can solve complex problems. This paper focuses on covering one of the deep learning algorithms (deep neural network) and learning about its types such as convolutional neural network (CNN), Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN), etc. We have discussed recent changes, such as advanced DL technologies. Next, we continue analyzing and discussing the challenges and possible solutions of machine learning, such as big data and object detection, studying more papers in deep learning, and knowing the main experiments and future directions. In addition, this review also identifies some successful deep learning applications in recent years. Moreover, in this paper, one of the deep learning methods, convolutional neural networks, is applied to detect objects in images by using the You Only Look One model and comparing it with RetinaNet using pre-trained models. Traditional deep learning models prefer large data sets, and in reality small data sets are easier to obtain. It is more practical to build models suitable for small data sets. Based on CNN, this paper proposes the concept of union convolution to build a deep learning model Union-net that is suitable for small data sets. The Union-net has small model size and superior performance. In this paper, the model is tested based on multiple commonly used data sets. The experimental results show that Union-net outperforms most models when dealing with small datasets, and Union-net outperforms other models when dealing with complex classification tasks or dealing with few-shot datasets. Modern artificial intelligence (AI) is heavily reliant on deep learning (DL), an emerging class of algorithms that can automatically detect non-trivial patterns from petabytes of rapidly evolving "Big Data." Although the information systems (IS) discipline has embraced DL, questions remain about DL's interface with a domain and theory and DL contribution types. In this paper, we present a DL information systems research (DL-ISR) schematic that reviews DL while considering the role of the application environment and knowledge base, summarizes extant DL research in IS, a knowledge contribution framework (KCF) to position DL contributions, and ten guidelines to help IS scholars design, execute, and present DL for computational, behavioral, or economic IS research. We illustrate a research contribution to DL for cybersecurity. This article's contribution to theory resides in the conceptual DL-ISR schematic and KCF, while its contributions to practice are based on its practical guidelines for executing DL-based projects. With the rapid development of modern geochemical analysis techniques, massive volumes of data are being generated from various sources and forms, and geochemical data acquisition and analysis have become important tools for studying geochemical processes and environmental changes. However, geochemical data have high-dimensional, nonlinear characteristics, and traditional geochemical data analysis methods have struggled to meet the demands of modern science. Nowadays, the development of big data and artificial intelligence technologies has provided new ideas and methods for geochemical data analysis. However, geochemical research involves numerous fields such as petrology, ore deposit, mineralogy, and others, each with its specific research methods and objectives, making it difficult to strike a balance between depth and breadth of investigation. Additionally, due to limitations in data sources and collection methods, existing studies often focus on a specific discipline or issue, lacking a comprehensive understanding of the bigger picture and foresight for the future. To assist geochemists in identifying research hotspots in the field and exploring solutions to the aforementioned issues, this article comprehensively reviews related studies in recent years, elaborates on the necessity and challenges of combining geochemistry and artificial intelligence, and analyzes the characteristics and research hotspots of the global collaboration network in this field. The study reveals that the investigation into artificial intelligence techniques to address geochemical issues is progressing swiftly. Joint research papers serve as the primary means of contact within a worldwide collaborative network. The primary areas of focus in the ongoing research on the integration of geochemistry and artificial intelligence include methodologies for analyzing geochemical data, environmental modifications, and mineral prospectivity mapping. Geochemical data analysis is currently a significant focus of research, encompassing a range of methods including machine learning and deep learning. Predicting mineral resources for deep space, deep Earth, and deep sea is also a pressing topic in contemporary research. This paper aims to analyze the predictive effect of artificial intelligence on user demand in big data social media and to provide suggestions for developing enterprise innovation frameworks and implementing marketing strategies. In response to the inconsistency between the supply of enterprise products and services and market demand, deep learning algorithms have been introduced using social media big data analysis. In today's digital world, some crowded venues still rely on outdated methods, such as counting people using counters or sensors at the entrance. These techniques generally fail in areas where people move randomly. Crowd management is an important challenge for ensuring human safety. This paper focuses on developing a crowd management system for Hajj and Umrah duty. Motivated by the recent artificial intelligence techniques and the availability of large-scale data, a crowd management system was established and is presented in this paper. Utilizing the most recent Deep Learning techniques, the proposed crowd management system will be charged with detecting human faces, face identification, tracking, and human face counting tasks. Face counting and detection will be achieved by computing the number of people in a given area. Face detection and tracking will be carried out for person identification, flow rate estimation, and security. The suggested crowd management system is composed of three key components: (1) face detection, (2) assignment of a specific identifier (ID) to each detected face, (3) each detected face will be compared to the stored faces in the dataset. If the detected face is identified, it will be assigned to its ID, or a new ID will be assigned. The crowd management system has been developed to improve the Cross-Stage Partial Network (CSPNet) with attention module integration. An attention module was employed to address object location challenges and a channel-wise attention module for determining the objects of focus. Extensive experiments on the WIDER FACE dataset proved the robustness of the proposed face detection module, which allows for building reliable crowd management and flow rate estimation systems through detecting, tracking, and counting human faces. As an important branch of machine learning, deep learning (DL) models with multiple hidden layer structures have the ability to extract highly representative features from the input. At present, fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) and health monitoring solutions developed based on DL models have received extensive attention in academia and industry along with the rapid improvement of computing power. Therefore, this paper focuses on a comprehensive review of DL model–based FDD and health monitoring schemes in view of common problems of industrial systems. First, brief theoretical backgrounds of basic DL models are introduced. Then, related publications are discussed about the development of DL and graphical models in the industrial context. Deep learning‐based models have become ubiquitous across a wide range of applications, including computer vision, natural language processing, and robotics. Despite their efficacy, one of the significant challenges associated with deep neural network (DNN) models is the potential risk of copyright leakage due to the inherent vulnerability of the entire model architecture and the communication burden of the large models during publishing. So far, it is still challenging for us to safeguard the intellectual property rights of these DNN models while reducing the communication time during model publishing. To this end, this paper introduces a novel approach using knowledge distillation techniques aimed at training a surrogate model to stand in for the original DNN model. To be specific, a knowledge distillation generative adversarial network (KDGAN) model is proposed to train a student model capable of achieving remarkable performance levels while simultaneously safeguarding the copyright integrity of the original large teacher model and improving communication efficiency during model publishing. Heart sound auscultation has been applied in clinical usage for early screening of cardiovascular diseases. The implementation of the strategy of rural revitalization is a major ministerial work made by the Nineteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China and is the general grasp of contemporary agriculture, peasants, and rural work. In recent years, with the rapid development of remote sensing technology and deep learning technology, the demand for the technology for the classification of crops on satellite remote sensing images based on deep learning technology has increased in agricultural insurance and land survey. Therefore, this paper trains one, which is 85.9%–92.8%, the accuracy of corn classification is 77%–93%, and the accuracy of forest classification is 77%–87.6%. Subsequently, the overall accuracy of classifying all directories through the multi-temporal validation data set between May 2017 and October 2017 reached 92.6%. Such a multi-time combination method can be used for monthly, timely, and efficient iteration of agricultural insurance and crop yield estimation, which will be more accurate each time. These methods can also be further applied to the growth and change monitoring of large agricultural planting areas, adding bricks and tiles to China's agricultural remote sensing. The rapid development of Internet technology has promoted the vigorous development of the multimedia. As one of the most classic instruments, the violin has been fully developed in its creation, education, and performance. In the face of more and more violin performances, the effective organization and retrieval of these musical works is an urgent problem to be solved, while it is common to classify and organize music based on the emotional properties of the performance. Deep learning is a model based on feature hierarchy and unsupervised feature learning, which has strong learning ability and adaptability. Based on the recurrent neural network (RNN) method, long short-term memory (LSTM) is one of the classic models of deep learning that can effectively learn the characteristics of time series data and achieve effective predictions. Therefore, based on the classical Hevner emotion classification model, this paper proposes an emotion recognition method for dynamic violin performances based on LSTM, which selects acoustic features and classifies the audio acoustic signals contained in the violin performances. In order to verify the effectiveness of this method, this paper carries out data labeled, feature selection, and model test on the actual violin music data by turn. The results show that the proposed method can greatly reduce the training time and improve the prediction accuracy, which reached 83%, higher than the existing methods. Meanwhile, the accuracy and iteration times of violin playing music of different emotional categories are also counted. The availability of large amounts of data in combination with Big Data analytics has transformed many application domains. In this paper, we provide insights into how the area has developed in the last decade. First, we identify seven major application areas and six groups of important enabling technologies for Big Data applications and systems. Then, using bibliometrics and an extensive literature review of more than 80 papers, we identify the most important research trends in these areas. In addition, our bibliometric analysis also includes trends in different geographical regions. Our results indicate that manufacturing and agriculture or forestry are the two application areas with the fastest growth. Furthermore, our bibliometric study shows that deep learning and edge or fog computing are the enabling technologies increasing the most. This comprehensive review provides insights about secured data accession by employing cryptographic platforms such as H-IoT in big data, H-IoT in blockchain, H-IoT in machine learning and deep learning, H-IoT in edge computing, and H-IoT in software-defined networks. With this information, this paper reveals solutions to mitigate threats caused by different kinds of attacks. The prevailing challenges in H-IoT systems, including security and scalability challenges, real-time operating challenges, resource constraints, latency, and power consumption challenges are also addressed. The revolutionary advances of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the past decade have brought transformative innovation across science and engineering disciplines. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive review of the applications of deep learning in sea ice remote sensing domains, focusing on problems such as sea ice lead detection, thickness estimation, concentration, sea ice extent forecasting and motion detection as well as sea ice type classification. In addition to discussing these applications, we also summarize technological advances that provide customized deep learning solutions, including new loss functions and learning strategies to better understand sea ice dynamics. To promote the growth of this exciting interdisciplinary field, we further explore several research areas where the Arctic sea ice community can benefit from cutting-edge AI technology. These areas include improving multi-modal deep learning capabilities, enhancing model accuracy in measuring prediction uncertainty, better leveraging AI foundation models, and deepening the integration with physics-based models. As an important stage of life cycle management, machinery PHM (prognostics and health management), an emerging subject in mechanical engineering, has seen a huge amount of research. Here the authors present a comprehensive overview that details previous and current efforts in PHM from an industrial big data perspective. The authors first analyze the historical development of industrial big data and its distinction from big data of other domains and summarize the sources, types, and processing modes of industrial big data. Then, the authors provide an overview of common representation and fusion (data pre-processing) methods of industrial big data. Next, the authors comprehensively review common PHM methods in the data-driven context, focusing on the application of deep learning. Finally, two industrial cases from our previous studies are included in this paper to demonstrate how the PHM technique may facilitate the manufacturing industry. This paper provides a comprehensive and critical review of recent developments and applications in machine learning for longitudinal biomedical data. Although the paper provides a discussion of clustering methods, its primary focus is on the prediction of static outcomes, defined as the value of the event of interest at a given instant in time, using longitudinal features, which has emerged as the most commonly employed approach in healthcare applications. First, the main approaches and algorithms for building longitudinal machine learning models are presented in detail, including their technical implementations, strengths and limitations. Subsequently, most recent biomedical and clinical applications are reviewed and discussed, showing promising results in a wide range of medical specialties. The innovative model incorporates embedding layers of small (representable) sizes, variational layers to improve the latent space and to spread samples, and a Euclidean similarity measure to place samples according to the intuitive human interpretation of distances. Visual representation of user and item relations is an important issue in recommender systems. This is a big data task that helps to understand the underlying structure of the information, and it can be used by company managers and technical staff. Current collaborative filtering machine learning models are designed to improve prediction accuracy, not to provide suitable visual representations of data. This paper proposes a deep learning model specifically designed to display the existing relations among users, items, and both users and items. Making use of representative datasets, we show that by setting small embedding sizes of users and items, the recommender system accuracy remains nearly unchanged; it opens the door to the use of bidimensional and three-dimensional representations of users and items. The proposed neural model incorporates variational embedding stages to "unpack" (extend) embedding representations, which facilitates identifying individual samples. It also replaces the join layers in current models with a Lambda Euclidean layer that better catches the space representation of samples. The results show numerical and visual improvements when the proposed model is used compared to the baselines. This paper proposes a heuristic reward reinforcement learning framework for point cloud registration. As an essential step of many 3D computer vision tasks such as object recognition and 3D reconstruction, point cloud registration has been well studied in the existing literature. This paper contributes to the literature by addressing the limitations of embedding and reward functions in existing methods. An improved state-embedding module and a stochastic reward function are proposed. While the embedding module enriches the captured characteristics of states, the newly designed reward function follows a time-dependent searching strategy, which allows aggressive attempts at the beginning and tends to be conservative in the end. We assess our method based on two public datasets (ModelNet40 and ScanObjectNN) and real-world data. Results show that China is the country with the highest number of publications (1115), accounting for 29% of the total; however, the most influential country in the field is the USA, with an h-index of 75. The Chinese Academy of Sciences publishes the largest number of papers (104) and plays a vital role in the collaboration network. The study also reveals that the IEEE Access is the most productive journal (195) in terms of the number of publications, and engineering is the most popular discipline (1526).
