‎Graph coloring is the assignment of one color to each vertex of a graph so that two adjacent vertices are not of the same color‎. ‎The graph coloring problem (GCP) is a matter of combinatorial optimization‎, ‎and the goal of GCP is determining the chromatic number $\chi(G)$‎. ‎Since GCP is an NP-hard problem‎, ‎then in this paper‎, ‎we propose a new approximated algorithm for finding the coloring number (it is an approximation of chromatic number) by using a graph adjacency matrix to colorize or separate a graph‎. ‎To prove the correctness of the proposed algorithm‎, ‎we implement it in MATLAB software‎, ‎and for analysis in terms of solution and execution time‎, ‎we compare our algorithm with some of the best existing algorithms that are already implemented in MATLAB software‎, ‎and we present the results in tables of various graphs‎. ‎Several available algorithms used the largest degree selection strategy‎, ‎while our proposed algorithm uses the graph adjacency matrix to select the vertex that has the smallest degree for coloring‎. ‎We provide some examples to compare the performance of our algorithm to other available methods‎. ‎We make use of the Dolan-Mor\'e performance profiles to assess the performance of the numerical algorithms‎, ‎and demonstrate the efficiency of our proposed approach in comparison with some existing methods‎.

Language phrases are an effective way to express uncertain pieces of information, and easily conforms to the language habits of decision makers to describe the evaluation of things. The consistency judgment of a linguistic judgment matrices is the key to analytic hierarchy process (AHP). If a linguistic judgment matrix has a satisfactory consistency, then the rank of the decision schemes can be determined. In this study, the comparison relation between the decision schemes is first represented by a directed graph. The preference relation matrix of the linguistic judgment matrix is the adjacency matrix of the directed graph. We can use the $ n - 1 $ st power of the preference relation to judge the linguistic judgment matrix whether has a satisfactory consistency. The method is utilized if there is one and only one element in the $ n - 1 $ st power of the preference relation, and the element 1 is not on the main diagonal. Then the linguistic judgment matrix has a satisfactory consistency. If there are illogical judgments, the decision schemes that form a 3-loop can be identified and expressed through the second-order sub-matrix of the preference relation matrix. The feasibility of this theory can be verified through examples. The corresponding schemes for illogical judgments are represented in spatial coordinate system.

The concept of a swarm of drones assumes the presence of a wireless ad hoc network, in which drones are network nodes and exchanging information with each other. This article is devoted to studying the behavior of an ad hoc network in a transient mode and assessing the characteristics of updating local adjacency matrices (LAM), which allow network nodes to autonomously form packet transmission routes. Using a simulation model, a comparison was made of two multiple access methods to a common data transmission channel in the process of updating matrices: cyclic and random (slotted ALOHA). The simulation results made it possible to determine areas of their effective application: slotted ALOHA is advisable to use with relatively high probabilities of packet distortion (of the order of 0.1 and higher), a numerous nodes (more than 40), and low network connectivity, and cyclic access (CA) is effective at a low level of distortion. It is shown that the completion of the process of updating adjacency matrices (AM) can be judged by such indicators of the exchange of routing information as the achievement of a certain threshold of the number of transmissions and a decrease in the level of network traffic.

Data exploration, usually the first step in data analysis, is a useful method to tackle challenges caused by big geoscience data. It conducts quick analysis of data, investigates the patterns, and generates/refines research questions to guide advanced statistics and machine learning algorithms. The background of this work is the open mineral data provided by several sources, and the focus is different types of associations in mineral properties and occurrences. Researchers in mineralogy have been applying different techniques for exploring such associations. Although the explored associations can lead to new scientific insights that contribute to crystallography, mineralogy, and geochemistry, the exploration process is often daunting due to the wide range and complexity of factors involved. In this study, our purpose is implementing a visualization tool based on the adjacency matrix for a variety of datasets and testing its utility for quick exploration of association patterns in mineral data. Algorithms, software packages, and use cases have been developed to process a variety of mineral data. The results demonstrate the efficiency of adjacency matrix in real-world usage. All the developed works of this study are open source and open access.

In the spectral clustering methods, different from the network division based on edges, some research has begun to divide the network based on network motifs; the corresponding objective function of partition also becomes related to the motif information. But, the related research on the directed weighted network needs to be further deepened. The weight of the network has a great influence on the structural attributes of the network, so it is necessary to extend the motif-based clustering to the weighted network. In this paper, a motif-based spectral clustering method for directed weighted networks is proposed. At the same time, this paper supplements the method of obtaining matrix expressions of the motif adjacency matrix in directed unweighted networks and provides a method to deal with the weight of networks, which will be helpful for the application research of motifs. This clustering method takes into account the higher-order connectivity patterns in networks and broadens the applicable range of spectral clustering to directed weighted networks. In this method, the motif-based clustering of directed weighted networks can be transformed into the clustering of the undirected weighted network corresponding to the motif-based adjacency matrix. The results show that the clustering method can correctly identify the partition structure of the benchmark network, and experiments on some real networks show that this method performs better than the method that does not consider the weight of networks.

Abstract In recent years, air pollution has become increasingly serious and poses a great threat to human health. Timely and accurate air quality prediction is crucial for air pollution early warning and control. Although data-driven air quality prediction methods are promising, there are still challenges in studying spatial–temporal correlations of air pollutants to design effective predictors. To address this issue, a novel model called adaptive adjacency matrix-based graph convolutional recurrent network (AAMGCRN) is proposed in this study. The model inputs Point of Interest (POI) data and meteorological data into a fully connected neural network to learn the weights of the adjacency matrix thereby constructing the self-ringing adjacency matrix and passes the pollutant data with this matrix as input to the Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) unit. Then, the GCN unit is embedded into LSTM units to learn spatio-temporal dependencies. Furthermore, temporal features are extracted using Long Short-Term Memory network (LSTM). Finally, the outputs of these two components are merged and air quality predictions are generated through a hidden layer. To evaluate the performance of the model, we conducted multi-step predictions for the hourly concentration of PM2.5, PM10 and O3 at Fangshan, Tiantan and Dongsi monitoring stations in Beijing. The experimental results show that our method achieves better predicted effects compared with other baseline models based on deep learning. In general, we designed a novel air quality prediction method and effectively addressed the shortcomings of existing studies in learning the spatio-temporal correlations of air pollutants. This method can provide more accurate air quality predictions and is expected to provide support for public health protection and government environmental decision-making.

Multispectral LiDAR can rapidly acquire 3D and spectral information of objects, providing richer features for point cloud semantic segmentation. Despite the remarkable performance of existing graph neural networks in point cloud segmentation, extracting local features still poses challenges in multispectral LiDAR point cloud scenes due to the uneven distribution of geometric and spectral information. To address the prevailing challenges, cutting-edge research predominantly focuses on extracting multiscale local features, compensating for feature extraction shortcomings. Thus, we propose a multiscale adjacency matrix convolutional neural network (MS-AMCNN) for multispectral LiDAR point cloud segmentation. In the MS-AMCNN, a local adjacency matrix convolution module was first proposed to efficiently leverage the point cloud's topological relationships and perceive local geometric features. Subsequently, a multiscale feature extraction architecture was adopted to fuse local geometric features and utilize a global self-attention module to globally model the semantic features of multiscale. The network effectively captures global and local representative features of the point cloud by harnessing the capabilities of convolutional neural networks in local feature modeling and the self-attention mechanism in global semantic feature learning. Experimental results on the Titan dataset demonstrate that the proposed MS-AMCNN network achieves a promising multispectral LiDAR point cloud segmentation performance with an overall accuracy of 94.39% and a mean intersection over union (MIoU) of 86.57%. Compared with other state-of-the-art methods, such as DGCNN, which achieved an MIoU of 85.43%, and RandLA-net, with an MIoU of 85.20%, the proposed approach achieves optimal performance in segmentation.

The α-Hermitian adjacency matrix Hα of a mixed graph X has been recently introduced. It is a generalization of the adjacency matrix of unoriented graphs. In this paper, we consider a special case of the complex number α. This enables us to define an incidence matrix of mixed graphs. Consequently, we define a generalization of line graphs as well as a generalization of the signless Laplacian adjacency matrix of graphs. We then study the spectral properties of the gamma-signless Laplacian adjacency matrix of a mixed graph. Lastly, we characterize when the signless Laplacian adjacency matrix of a mixed graph is singular and give lower and upper bounds of number of arcs and digons in terms of largest and lowest eigenvalue of the signless Laplacian adjacency matrix.

Prediction of the next event is important for organizations to improve and optimize their system process to achieve organizational goals. Existing predictive models are limited since they use discovery algorithms that might not be able to conserve the sequences of events as reported in the event log. Discovery algorithms alter the sequence of events in two ways, either the algorithms generate an additional sequence of events not found in the event logs or remove the order of events. Since prediction relies on these process algorithms, the prediction model can suffer and produce underperforming results. Models that do not use discovery algorithms, such as deep learning models, ignore completely the sequence of events. To overcome these limitations, we propose a new algorithm called AXDP (Adjacency Matrix Deep Learning Prediction Model). AXDP predicts the next event of a process using graph theory techniques, specifically adjacency matrices and predicts using the power of deep learning models. AXDP has a major advantage, in that sequence of events is conserved, resulting in better prediction of the next event. When testing AXDP on eight publicly available datasets, AXDP outperforms what we believe to be the most recent and best predictive models that exist for the prediction of the next event for six of the eight datasets.

This article focused on the notion of the non-abelian tensor product of groups of prime power order. Particularly, it presented new graph named as Non-compatible action graph and discussed some of its properties. Moreover, this graph concentrated on the case of non-compatible actions of the tensor product of two finite -groups. Furthermore, its adjacency matrix has been determined and discussed in detail. Moreover, the adjacency matrix has been denoted by A(G) and its inputs are 1 whenever there is adjacency and 0 otherwise.

Modeling complex spatial and temporal dependencies in multivariate time series data is crucial for traffic forecasting. Graph convolutional networks have proved to be effective in predicting multivariate time series. Although a predefined graph structure can help the model converge to good results quickly, it also limits the further improvement of the model due to its stationary state. In addition, current methods may not converge on some datasets due to the graph structure of these datasets being difficult to learn. Motivated by this, we propose a novel model named Dynamic Correlation Graph Convolutional Network (DCGCN) in this paper. The model can construct adjacency matrices from input data using a correlation coefficient; thus, dynamic correlation graph convolution is used for capturing spatial dependencies. Meanwhile, gated temporal convolution is used for modeling temporal dependencies. Finally, we performed extensive experiments to evaluate the performance of our proposed method against ten existing well-recognized baseline methods using two original and four public datasets.

The spread S(Q(G)) of Q(G), the signless Laplacian matrix of G and S(A(G)) of A(G) are similarly defined. In this paper, we establish the relationships between S(Aα(G)), S(Q(G)) and S(A(G)). Further, we find bounds for S(Aα(G)) involving different parameters of G. Adjacency matrix visualization is a common method for presenting graph data, and the Focus+Context technique can be used to explore the details of the ROI (region of interest). Embedded views and multi-view approaches are usually applied when locating and comparing attributes among multiple nodes. However, the embedded view has an issue of edge occlusion, while the multi-view would cause repeated perspective switching. In this paper, we propose a Multivariate Fence (MVF) model as a focus view of the adjacency matrix to locate and compare attributes among nodes. An additional spatial parallel coordinate is added to the 2D adjacency matrix in an immersive environment so that the attribute information can be shown in a single view without blocking edge information. We also conduct a user study to evaluate the performance of the MVF. The results show that the MVF has better efficiency and accuracy in locating and comparing the multivariate adjacency matrix in the immersive environment against the existing focus model. Moreover, the MVF model is easier to understand and is preferred by users.

Different from other computer vision tasks, action recognition needs to process larger-scale video data. How to extract and analyze the effective parts from a huge amount of video information is the main difficulty of action recognition technology. In recent years, due to the outstanding performance of Graph Convolutional Networks (GCN) in many fields, a new solution to the action recognition algorithm has emerged. However, in current GCN models, the constant physical adjacency matrix makes it difficult to mine synergistic relationships between key points that are not directly connected in physical space. Additionally, a simple time connection of skeleton data from different frames makes each frame in the video contribute equally to the recognition results, which increases the difficulty of distinguishing action stages. In this paper, the information extraction ability of the model has been optimized in the space domain and time domain, respectively. In the space domain, an Adjacency Matrix Generation (AMG) module, which can pre-analyze node sets and generate an adaptive adjacency matrix, has been proposed. The adaptive adjacency matrix can help the graph convolution model to extract the synergistic information between the key points that are crucial for recognition. In the time domain, the Time Domain Attention (TDA) mechanism has been designed to calculate the time-domain weight vector through double pooling channels and complete the weights of key point sequences. Furthermore, performance of the improved TDA-AMG-GCN modules has been verified on the NTU-RGB+D dataset. Its detection accuracy at the CS and CV divisions reached 84.5% and 89.8%, respectively, with an average level higher than other commonly used detection methods at present.

The traditional method of searching transmission section generally has the problem of omission and time-consuming. A topology converging algorithm of power grid adjacency matrix is proposed in this paper. It aggregates neighboring buses based on a simple matrix transformation rule, and identify key transmission sections based on matrix operations and power flow distribution factors. This method has the advantage of no presetting the sub-zone, which can avoid the simplification of the grid topology in the sub-zone and improve the calculation accuracy. The complex logical operations of the traversal algorithm adopted by most of traditional methods can be avoided, and the calculation speed can be effectively improved. Besides, the algorithm also has a memory characteristic which can be applied to the online search of key transmission sections. The results of several IEEE test systems show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Accurate forecasting of taxi demand has facilitated the rational allocation of urban public transport resources, reduced congestion in urban transport networks, and shortened passenger waiting time. However, virtual station discovery and modelling of the demand when forecasting through graph convolutional neural networks remains challenging. In this study, the virtual station discovery problem was addressed by using a two-stage clustering approach, which considers the geographical and load characteristics of taxi demand. Furthermore, a fusion model combining non-negative matrix decomposition and a graph convolutional neural network was proposed in order to extract the features of the nodes for dimension reduction and adaptive adjacency matrix computation. By the construction of a local processing structure, further extraction of the local characteristics of the demand was achieved. The experimental results show that the method in this study outperforms state-of-the-art methods in terms of the root mean square error and average absolute value error. Therefore, the model proposed in this study is able to achieve accurate forecasting of taxi demand.

Image clustering is a research hotspot in machine learning and computer vision. Existing graph-based semi-supervised deep clustering methods suffer from three problems: 1) because clustering uses only high-level features, the detailed information contained in shallow-level features is ignored; 2) most feature extraction networks employ the step odd convolutional kernel, which results in an uneven distribution of receptive field intensity; and 3) because the adjacency matrix is precomputed and fixed, it cannot adapt to changes in the relationship between samples. To solve the above problems, we propose a novel graph-based semi-supervised deep clustering method for image clustering. First, the parity cross-convolutional feature extraction and fusion module is used to extract high-quality image features. Then, the clustering constraint layer is designed to improve the clustering efficiency. And, the output layer is customized to achieve unsupervised regularization training. Finally, the adjacency matrix is inferred by actual network prediction. A graph-based regularization method is adopted for unsupervised training networks. Experimental results show that our method significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods on USPS, MNIST, street view house numbers (SVHN), and fashion MNIST (FMNIST) datasets in terms of ACC, normalized mutual information (NMI), and ARI.

There are many types of planetary gear trains， and each one corresponds to a transmission ratio calculation formula， which makes great difficulties in the comprehensive research of planetary gear trains and the development of general design software. According to the structural diagram of the planetary gear train， the corresponding adjacency matrix is written. Then， the basic loop of the train is searched from the adjacency matrix to construct the basic loop matrix. Finally， the basic loop matrix is transformed into the coefficient matrix of the equation of motion. And use MATLAB to automate this algorithm and solve the equation of motion to obtain the gear ratio of the planetary gear train.

The paper presents a novel spectral algorithm EVSA (eigenvector structure analysis), which uses eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the adjacency matrix in order to discover clusters. Based on matrix perturbation theory and properties of graph spectra we show that the adjacency matrix can be more suitable for partitioning than other Laplacian matrices. The main problem concerning the use of the adjacency matrix is the selection of the appropriate eigenvectors. We thus propose an approach based on analysis of the adjacency matrix spectrum and eigenvector pairwise correlations. Formulated rules and heuristics allow choosing the right eigenvectors representing clusters, i.e., automatically establishing the number of groups. The algorithm requires only one parameter-the number of nearest neighbors. Unlike many other spectral methods, our solution does not need an additional clustering algorithm for final partitioning. We evaluate the proposed approach using real-world datasets of different sizes. Its performance is competitive to other both standard and new solutions, which require the number of clusters to be given as an input parameter.

Graph convolutional networks (GCNs), which extend convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to non-Euclidean structures, have been utilized to promote skeleton-based human action recognition research and have made substantial progress in doing so. However, there are still some challenges in the construction of recognition models based on GCNs. In this paper, we propose an enhanced adjacency matrix-based graph convolutional network with a combinatorial attention mechanism (CA-EAMGCN) for skeleton-based action recognition. Firstly, an enhanced adjacency matrix is constructed to expand the model’s perceptive field of global node features. Secondly, a feature selection fusion module (FSFM) is designed to provide an optimal fusion ratio for multiple input features of the model. Finally, a combinatorial attention mechanism is devised. Specifically, our spatial-temporal (ST) attention module and limb attention module (LAM) are integrated into a multi-input branch and a mainstream network of the proposed model, respectively. Extensive experiments on three large-scale datasets, namely the NTU RGB+D 60, NTU RGB+D 120 and UAV-Human datasets, show that the proposed model takes into account both requirements of light weight and recognition accuracy. This demonstrates the effectiveness of our method.

In the creative design of mechanical devices，the isomorphic kinematic chains should be eliminated to reduce the mechanism scheme for subsequent design and improve the design efficiency of mechanical device. A new method for isomorphism recognition of kinematic chains is proposed based on the Hamming matrix. Firstly，the Hamming matrix of kinematic chains is educed from the link adjacency matrix，then the square matrix of Hamming matrix and the cubic matrix of link adjacency matrix are integrable to obtain the product matrix of kinematic chains. Secondly，the elements of each row in the product matrix are ordered in descending to get the row sequences of the product matrix. Finally，the isomorphism recognition code (IRC) of the kinematic chain is obtained by the sum of the product of the element in the row sequence with the defined topological factor. The isomorphism recognition code does not change with the link labels，so if the isomorphism recognition codes of the kinematic chains are the same，they are isomorphic，otherwise they are not. The effectiveness of this method is proved by a large number of examples. Because of its simplicity，efficiency and convenience for computer execution，it can be considered as a new option for isomorphism screening.

Stable isotope based metabolic flux analysis is currently the unique methodology that allows the experimental study of the integrated responses of metabolic networks. This method primarily relies on isotope labeling and modeling, which could be a challenge in both experimental and computational biology. In particular, the algorithm implementation for isotope simulation is a critical step, limiting extensive usage of this powerful approach. Here, we introduce EMUlator a Python-based isotope simulator which is developed on Elementary Metabolite Unit (EMU) algorithm, an efficient and powerful algorithm for isotope modeling. We propose a novel adjacency matrix method to implement EMU modeling and exemplify it stepwise. This method is intuitively straightforward and can be conveniently mastered for various customized purposes. We apply this arithmetic pipeline to understand the phosphoketolase flux in the metabolic network of an industrial microbe Clostridium acetobutylicum. The resulting design enables a high-throughput and non-invasive approach for estimating phosphoketolase flux in vivo. Our computational insights allow the systematic design and prediction of isotope-based metabolic models and yield a comprehensive understanding of their limitations and potentials.

The research on node importance identification for temporal networks has attracted much attention. In this work, combined with the multi-layer coupled network analysis method, an optimized supra-adjacency matrix (OSAM) modeling method was proposed. In the process of constructing an optimized super adjacency matrix, the intra-layer relationship matrixes were improved by introducing the edge weight. The inter-layer relationship matrixes were formed by improved similarly and the inter-layer relationship is directional by using the characteristics of directed graphs. The model established by the OSAM method accurately expresses the structure of the temporal network and considers the influence of intra- and inter-layer relationships on the importance of nodes. In addition, an index was calculated by the average of the sum of the eigenvector centrality indices for a node in each layer and the node importance sorted list was obtained from this index to express the global importance of nodes in temporal networks. The experimental results on three real temporal network datasets Enron, Emaildept3, and Workspace showed that compared with the SAM and the SSAM methods, the OSAM method has a faster message propagation rate and larger message coverage and better SIR and NDCG@10 indicators.

Accurate forecasting of taxi demand has facilitated the rational allocation of urban public transport resources, reduced congestion in urban transport networks, and shortened passenger waiting time. However, virtual station discovery and modelling of the demand when forecasting through graph convolutional neural networks remains challenging. In this study, the virtual station discovery problem was addressed by using a two-stage clustering approach, which considers the geographical and load characteristics of taxi demand. Furthermore, a fusion model combining non-negative matrix decomposition and a graph convolutional neural network was proposed in order to extract the features of the nodes for dimension reduction and adaptive adjacency matrix computation. By the construction of a local processing structure, further extraction of the local characteristics of the demand was achieved. The experimental results show that the method in this study outperforms state-of-the-art methods in terms of the root mean square error and average absolute value error. Background: Post-translational modification (PTM) is a biological process that is associated with the modification of proteome, which results in the alteration of normal cell biology and pathogenesis. There have been numerous PTM reports in recent years, out of which, lysine phosphoglycerylation has emerged as one of the recent developments. The traditional methods of identifying phosphoglycerylated residues, which are experimental procedures such as mass spectrometry, have shown to be time-consuming and cost-inefficient, despite the abundance of proteins being sequenced in this post-genomic era. Due to these drawbacks, computational techniques are being sought to establish an effective identification system of phosphoglycerylated lysine residues. The development of a predictor for phosphoglycerylation prediction is not a first, but it is necessary as the latest predictor falls short in adequately detecting phosphoglycerylated and non-phosphoglycerylated lysine residues. Results: In this work, we introduce a new predictor named RAM-PGK, which uses sequence-based information relating to amino acid residues to predict phosphoglycerylated and non-phosphoglycerylated sites. A benchmark dataset was employed for this purpose, which contained experimentally identified phosphoglycerylated and non-phosphoglycerylated lysine residues. From the dataset, we extracted the residue adjacency matrix pertaining to each lysine residue in the protein sequences and converted them into feature vectors, which is used to build the phosphoglycerylation predictor. Conclusion: RAM-PGK, which is based on sequential features and support vector machine classifiers, has shown a noteworthy improvement in terms of performance in comparison to some of the recent prediction methods. The performance metrics of the RAM-PGK predictor are: 0.5741 sensitivity, 0.6436 specificity, 0.0531 precision, 0.6414 accuracy, and 0.0824 Mathews correlation coefficient.

In order to make it convenient for computer automatic synthesize,the automatic type synthesis of planar kinematic chains with modified Assur-group adjacency matrix is proposed. First of all,aiming at the known amount of the components,the active ones and the Assur-group,the diagonal elements with the different combination modes is solved according to the Assur-group theory. Then the synthesis method and concrete process is summarized and the selected Assur-group adjacency matrix is defined. The kinematic chains are subdivided in terms of 3 conditions of pole number,active pole and Assur-group type,meanwhile the isomorphism is estimated. As a conclusion,the method has better regularity,high efficiency and is beneficial to eliminate the rigid chains and reduce the calculation workload of isomorphism identification. Especially,the method can be applied to the automatic type synthesis for the planar mechanism kinematic chains with multiple links and multiple degrees of freedom. In addition,the success is achieved in the application on the type synthesis for the planar closed kinematic chains with 12 links and 12-below-links. Finally,the type synthesis method is demonstrated with the example of kinematic chains with 6 links and single degree of freedom.

The isomorphism identification of structural type is a vital problem now. For dealing with the isomorphism generated in synthesis of planar configuration based on the synthesis method of Assur- group adjacency matrix,a methodology of Assur- group adjacency matrix isomorphism identification is proposed. First of all,according to the diagonal elements is derived by the amount of Assur- group and active number,the diagonal isomorphism identification is obtained. Then,the condition is classified into three kinds,first is sequence isomorphism when Assur- group is equipped,second is symmetrical configuration isomorphism after adding Assur- group and the last one is discovered in matrix synthesis,which would be recognized and deleted by this method. Finally,the methodology proposed is able to be achieved by computer,easy to control and takes high efficiency in isomorphism identification.

The maximum eigenvalue of the adjacency matrix (AM) has been supposed to contain rich information about the corresponding network. An experimental study focused on revealing the meaning and application of the maximum eigenvalue is missing. To this end, AM was constructed using mutual information (MI) to determine the functional connectivity with electroencephalogram (EEG) data recorded with a mental fatigue model, and then was converted into both binary and weighted brain functional network (BFN) and corresponding random networks (RNs). Both maximum eigenvalue and corresponding network characters in BFNs and RNs were considered to explore the changes during the formation of mental fatigue. The results indicated that large maximum eigenvalue means more edges in the corresponding network, along with a high degree and a short characteristic path length both in weighted and binary BFNs. Interestingly, the maximum eigenvalue of AM was always a little larger than that of the corresponding random matrix (RM), and had an obvious linearity with the sum of the AM elements, indicating that the maximum eigenvalue can be able to distinguish the network structures which have the same mean degree. What is more, the maximum eigenvalue, which increased with the deepening of mental fatigue, can become a good indicator for mental fatigue estimation.

In this article, we study eigenvalues λ\lambda and their associated eigenvectors xx of the adjacency matrices AA of balanced signed graphs. Balanced signed graphs were first introduced and studied by Harary to handle a problem in social psychology. Harary showed in 1953 that a signed graph is balanced if and only if its vertex set VV can be divided into two sets (either of which may be empty), XX and YY, so that each edge between the sets is negative and each within a set is positive. Based on this fundamental theorem for the balanced signed graphs, vertices of a balanced signed graph can be labeled in a way so that its adjacency matrix is well structured. Using this special structure, we find algebraically all eigenvalues and their associated eigenvectors of the adjacency matrix AA of a given balanced signed graph. We present in this study eigenpairs (λ,x)\left(\lambda ,x) of adjacency matrices of balanced signed graphs with some special structures.

All graphs under consideration are finite, simple, connected, and undirected. Adjacency matrix of a graph G is 0,1 matrix A=aij=0, if vi=vj or dvi,vj≥21, if dvi,vj=1.. Here in this paper, we discussed new type of adjacency matrix known by 1-2 adjacency matrix defined as A1,2G=aij=0, if vi=vj or dvi,vj≥31, if dvi,vj=2, from eigenvalues of the graph, we mean eigenvalues of the 1-2 adjacency matrix. Let Tnc be the set of the complement of trees of order n. In this paper, we characterized a unique graph whose least eigenvalue is minimal among all the graphs in Tnc.
