Abstract Nowadays, due to the constantly growing amount of textual information, automatic text summarization constitutes an important research area in natural language processing. In this work, we present a novel framework that combines semantic graph representations along with deep learning predictions to generate abstractive summaries of single documents, in an effort to utilize a semantic representation of the unstructured textual content in a machine-readable, structured, and concise manner. The overall framework is based on a well defined methodology for performing semantic graph parsing, graph construction, graph transformations for machine learning models and deep learning predictions. The employed semantic graph representation focuses on using the model of abstract meaning representation. Several combinations of graph construction and graph transformation methods are investigated to specify the most efficient of them for the machine learning models. Additionally, a range of deep learning architectures is examined, including a sequence-to-sequence attentive network, reinforcement learning, transformer-based architectures, and pre-trained neural language models. In this direction, a semantic graph representation of an original text is extracted, and then the present framework formulates the problem as a graph-to-summary learning problem to predict a summary of an original text. To the best of our knowledge, this formulation of graph-to-summary predictions in abstractive text summarization, without other intermediate steps in the machine learning phase, has not been presented in the relevant literature. Another important contribution is an introduction of a measure for assessing the factual consistency of the generated summaries in an effort to provide a qualitative evaluation. To assess the framework, an extensive experimental procedure is presented that uses popular datasets to evaluate key aspects of the proposed approach. The obtained results exhibit promising performance, validating the robustness of the proposed framework.

Natural language processing (NLP) performs a vital function in text summarization, a task targeted at refining the crucial information from the massive quantity of textual data. NLP methods allow computers to comprehend and process human language, permitting the development of advanced summarization methods. Text summarization includes the automatic generation of a concise and coherent summary of a specified document or collection of documents. Extracting significant insights from text data is crucial as it provides advanced solutions to end-users and business organizations. Automatic text summarization (ATS) computerizes text summarization by decreasing the initial size of the text without the loss of main data features. Deep learning (DL) approaches exhibited significant performance in abstractive and extractive summarization tasks. This research designed an extractive text summarization using NLP with an optimal DL (ETS-NLPODL) model. The major goal of the ETS-NLPODL technique was to exploit feature selection with a hyperparameter-tuned DL model for summarizing the text. In the ETS-NLPODL technique, an initial step of data preprocessing was involved to convert the input text into a compatible format. Next, a feature extraction process was carried out and the optimal set of features was chosen by the hunger games search optimization (HGSO) algorithm. For text summarization, the ETS-NLPODL model used an attention-based convolutional neural network with a gated recurrent unit (ACNN-GRU) model. Finally, the mountain gazelle optimization (MGO) algorithm was employed for the optimal hyperparameter selection of the ACNN-GRU model. The experimental results of the ETS-NLPODL system were examined under the benchmark dataset. The experimentation outcomes pointed out that the ETS-NLPODL technique gained better performance over other methods concerning diverse performance measures.

In today's small world, everyone needs timely and appropriate medical information to prevent contagious diseases. Extraction of important information from medical conversations and dissemination to patients and doctors may benefit in the treatments of doctor tiredness and patient amnesia. Problem: Automatic text summarizing is essential for gaining great knowledge in any topic in an efficient and productive manner. The material included in health records is vital to our understanding of kind illness and its manifestations. Creating a comprehensive and standard kind of content is becoming an unavoidable and crucial problem in the medical process as a result of the massive amounts of fragmented data created in many sectors. Approach: The purpose of this study is to employ NLP‐based deep learning algorithms for text summary that perform well on linguistic text summarization data, and then modify/adapt these for biomedical domain‐specific text summarization. This paper provides an approach developed in‐house for condensing ill‐punctuated or unpunctuated discussion transcripts into more intelligible summaries, which combines topic modelling and phrase selection with punctuation restorations. For autonomous synthesis of medical reports from biomedical transcripts, this research proposes using an end‐to‐end summarization technique, Deep Dense Long Short Term Memory Network (LSTM), followed by Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). Results: Extensive testing, examination, and comparing have demonstrated that this summarizer works well for medical transcript summarization. The suggested approach achieved an average ROUGE score of 93.5% using a single document summary. Furthermore, by comparing new techniques to previous ones, the utility and accuracy of novel strategies would be shown. As a solution, text summarization has emerged as a vital method for extracting essential information from lengthy documents. There are various techniques available for filtering documents and extracting the pertinent information. In this study, a comparative analysis is conducted to evaluate traditional approaches and state-of-the-art methods on the BBC News and CNN/DailyMail datasets. This study offers valuable insights for researchers to advance their research and helps practitioners in selecting the most suitable techniques for their specific use cases.

Whenever there is too much information out there, it is desirable to summarize. If humans are trying to create the summary, it will take lot of time. Now to make the problem of summarizing information easier and more effortless one can automate the summarization process which can reduce the time taken in creating summary. This is called as automatic summarization. The two ways of summarization are extractive summarization and abstractive summarization. In recent years, deep learning has revolutionized natural language processing (NLP) by enabling the development of models that can learn complex representations of language data, leading to significant improvements in performance across a wide range of NLP tasks. Deep learning models for NLP typically use large amounts of data to train deep neural networks, allowing them to learn the patterns and relationships in language data. This is in contrast to traditional NLP approaches, which rely on hand-engineered features and rules to perform NLP tasks. The ability of deep neural networks to learn hierarchical representations of language data, handle variable-length input sequences, and perform well on large datasets makes them well-suited for NLP applications. Driven by the exponential growth of textual data and the increasing demand for condensed, coherent, and informative summaries, text summarization has been a critical research area in the field of NLP. Applying deep learning to text summarization refers to the use of deep neural networks to perform text summarization tasks. In this survey, we begin with a review of fashionable text summarization tasks in recent years, including extractive, abstractive, multi-document, and so on. Next, we discuss most deep learning-based models and their experimental results on these tasks. The paper also covers datasets and data representation for summarization tasks. Finally, we delve into the opportunities and challenges associated with summarization tasks and their corresponding methodologies, aiming to inspire future research efforts to advance the field further. A goal of our survey is to explain how these methods differ in their requirements as understanding them is essential for choosing a technique suited for a specific setting. Due to the enormous content of text available online through emails, social media, and news articles, it has become complicated to summarize the textual information from multiple documents. Text summarization automatically creates a comprehensive description of the document that retains its informative contents through the keywords, where Multi-Document Summarization (MDS) is a productive tool for data accumulation that creates a concise and informative summary from the documents. In order to extract the relevant information from the documents, Graph neural networks (GNNs) is the neural structure that detains the interrelation of the graph by progressing the messages between the graphical nodes. In the current years, the advanced version of GNNs, such as graph attention network (GAN), graph recurrent network, and graph convolutional network (GCN) provides a remarkable performance in text summarization with the advantage of deep learning techniques. Simplifying summaries of scholarly publications has been a popular method for conveying scientific discoveries to a broader audience. While text summarization aims to shorten long documents, simplification seeks to reduce the complexity of a document. To accomplish these tasks collectively, there is a need to develop machine learning methods to shorten and simplify longer texts. This study presents a new Simplification Aware Text Summarization model (SATS) based on future n-gram prediction. The proposed SATS model extends ProphetNet, a text summarization model, by enhancing the objective function using a word frequency lexicon for simplification tasks. We have evaluated the performance of SATS on a recently published text summarization and simplification corpus consisting of 5,400 scientific article pairs. Our results in terms of automatic evaluation demonstrate that SATS outperforms state-of-the-art models for simplification, summarization, and joint simplification-summarization across two datasets on ROUGE, SARI, and CSS1. We also provide human evaluation of summaries generated by the SATS model. We evaluated 100 summaries from eight annotators for grammar, coherence, consistency, fluency, and simplicity. The average human judgment for all evaluated dimensions lies between 4.0 and 4.5 on a scale from 1 to 5 where 1 means low and 5 means high.

Text summarization is a widely-researched problem among scholars in the field of natural language processing. Multiple techniques have been proposed to help tackle this problem, yet some of these methodologies may still exhibit limitations such as the requirements for large training datasets, which might not always be possible, but more importantly, the lack of interpretability or transparency of the model. In this paper, we propose using meta-learning algorithm to train a deep learning model for extractive text summarization and then using various explanatory techniques such as SHAP (Shapley, 1953), linear regression (Lederer, 2022), decision trees (Fürnkranz, 2010), and input modification to gain insights into the model's decision making process. To evaluate the effectiveness of our approach, we will compare it to other popular natural language processing models like BERT (Miller, 2019) or XLNET (Yang et al., 2020) using the ROUGE metrics (Lin, 2004). A long-term objective of artificial intelligence is to design an abstractive text summarization (ATS) system that can produce condensed, adequate, and realistic summaries for the source documents. Deep learning approaches have contributed significantly to recent advancements in ATS, taking the state-of-the-art to new heights. Despite the considerable success of earlier approaches, producing high-quality and more human-like abstractive summaries continues to be a challenging task in reality. In this paper, we present an adversarial framework for abstractive text summarization, in which a generative model G and a proposed deep discriminative model D are trained in an adversarial manner. The goal of the generator is to generate summaries that are hard to differentiate from real summaries, whereas the discriminator's role is to estimate the probability that a summary came from the training data rather than the generator to direct the generative model's training. Experimental results on a benchmark CNN/Daily Mail dataset demonstrate that the proposed model achieves Rouge-1 and Rouge-L scores of 41.58 and 38.96 respectively which are better than the ones reported by various other methods (e.g. the base paper [1] achieved Rouge-1 and Rouge-L score of 39.92 and 36.71, while one of the recent works ACGT [2] achieved Rouge-1 score of 40.49 and Rouge-L score of 37.41). Automatic detection of prerequisite relations between concepts in education has always been a challenging AI task for researchers. Identification of prerequisite relations enables students to study new subjects more effectively and systematically, while allowing instructors to better tailor their learning materials to students' needs. However, to accurately detect these relations, the AI system must understand the context and meaning behind each concept and how it relates to other concepts in the domain. This requires a deep understanding of the educational curriculum and the ability to analyze large amounts of text and data. Large language models (LLMs) are a recent innovation in AI. LLMs have the capability to understand and generate human-like text since they are trained on a vast amount of text from the internet, books, articles, and more. LLMs can also be fine-tuned to specialize in tasks such as document summarization, question answering, or detecting user sentiment in reviews. Fine-tuning is done with a smaller, task-specific dataset. In this work, we introduce strategies for fine-tuning LLMs to improve their capability to detect prerequisite relations between educational concepts. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work that utilizes fine-tuned LLMs for prerequisite detection. Our evaluation results demonstrate that fine-tuned LLMs are effective models for prerequisite detection. Our fine-tuning process also facilitates the generation of explanations to shed light on the reasoning behind prerequisite relations. Datasets we generated and used in fine-tuning are made public for the research community. Nowadays, deep learning models are used to summarize the large volume of text data to understand its intent effectively. Processing huge amounts of data can lead to an Information overload, where the models may generate text summaries that miss out on the important information of actual text content. Such problems in business document summaries can impact progressive business growth. This study employs a dataset comprising business articles sourced from BBC News to conduct an extensive comparative analysis of three prominent text summarization algorithms: Bidirectional and Auto-Regressive Transformers, Text-to-Text Transfer Transformer, and Pre-training with Extracted Gap-sentences for Abstractive Summarization, within the domain of business news summarization. The primary objective is to assess the accuracy of these models in generating concise and coherent summaries, utilizing ROUGE and METEOR scores as the benchmark for evaluation. Each model's proficiency in distilling business narratives while retaining crucial insights is carefully examined. This study analyzes the summaries generated and compares them with the already existing summaries. From the result analysis it observed that BART and PEGASUS show ROUGE-I score of 0.308 and 0.245, and METEOR score 0.28 and 0.25 respectively. The outcomes of this study show that the T5 excelled in the ROUGE-1 and METEOR scores which were 0.354 and 0.35 respectively. outcomes of this research offer significant implications for both researchers and practitioners, equipping them with advanced summarization techniques for extracting information effectively from business-related content. In an age where information overload is prevalent, the findings from this study can guide the selection and deployment of text summarization models to enhance information extraction processes, ultimately facilitating more efficient decision-making and information dissemination in the business domain. Recently, the widespread use of social media and easy access to the Internet have brought about a significant transformation in the type of textual data available on the Web. This change is particularly evident in Arabic language usage, as the growing number of users from diverse domains has led to a considerable influx of Arabic text in various dialects, each characterized by differences in morphology, syntax, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Consequently, researchers in language recognition and natural language processing have become increasingly interested in identifying Arabic dialects. Numerous methods have been proposed to recognize this informal data, owing to its crucial implications for several applications, such as sentiment analysis, topic modeling, text summarization, and machine translation. However, Arabic dialect identification is a significant challenge due to the vast diversity of the Arabic language in its dialects. This study introduces a novel hybrid machine and deep learning model, incorporating an attention mechanism for detecting and classifying Arabic dialects. Several experiments were conducted using a novel dataset that collected information from user-generated comments from Twitter of Arabic dialects, namely, Egyptian, Gulf, Jordanian, and Yemeni, to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed model. The dataset comprises 34,905 rows extracted from Twitter, representing an unbalanced data distribution. The data annotation was performed by native speakers proficient in each dialect. The results demonstrate that the proposed model outperforms the performance of long short-term memory, bidirectional long short-term memory, and logistic regression models in dialect classification using different word representations as follows: term frequency-inverse document frequency, Word2Vec, and global vector for word representation. Fine-tuning a pre-trained sequence-to-sequence-based language model has significantly advanced the field of abstractive summarization. However, the early models of abstractive summarization were limited by the gap between training and inference, and they did not fully utilize the potential of the language model. Recent studies have introduced a two-stage framework that allows the second-stage model to re-rank the candidate summary generated by the first-stage model, to resolve these limitations. In this study, we point out that the supervision method performed in the existing re-ranking model of the two-stage abstractive summarization framework cannot learn detailed and complex information of the data. In addition, we present the problem of positional bias in the existing encoder–decoder-based re-ranking model. To address these two limitations, this study proposes a hierarchical supervision method that jointly performs summary and sentence-level supervision. For sentence-level supervision, we designed two sentence-level loss functions: intra- and inter-intra-sentence ranking losses. Compared to the existing abstractive summarization model, the proposed method exhibited a performance improvement for both the CNN/DM and XSum datasets. Knowledge Graphs (KGs) have already proven their strength as a source of high-quality information for different tasks such as data integration, search, text summarization, and personalization. Another prominent research field that has been benefiting from the adoption of KGs is that of Recommender Systems (RSs). Feeding a RS with data coming from a KG improves recommendation accuracy, diversity, and novelty, and paves the way to the creation of interpretable models that can be used for explanations. This possibility of combining a KG with a RS raises the question whether such an addition can be performed in a plug-and-play fashion – also with respect to the recommendation domain – or whether each combination needs a careful evaluation. To investigate such a question, we consider all possible combinations of (i) three recommendation tasks (books, music, movies); (ii) three recommendation models fed with data from a KG (and in particular, a semantics-aware deep learning model, that we discuss in detail), compared with three baseline models without KG addition; (iii) two main encyclopedic KGs freely available on the Web: DBpedia and Wikidata. Supported by an extensive experimental evaluation, we show the final results in terms of accuracy and diversity of the various combinations, highlighting that the injection of knowledge does not always pay off. This study presents a pioneering approach that leverages advanced sensing technologies and data processing techniques to enhance the process of clinical documentation generation during medical consultations. By employing sophisticated sensors to capture and interpret various cues such as speech patterns, intonations, or pauses, the system aims to accurately perceive and understand patient-doctor interactions in real time. This sensing capability allows for the automation of transcription and summarization tasks, facilitating the creation of concise and informative clinical documents. Through the integration of automatic speech recognition sensors, spoken dialogue is seamlessly converted into text, enabling efficient data capture. Additionally, deep models such as Transformer models are utilized to extract and analyze crucial information from the dialogue, ensuring that the generated summaries encapsulate the essence of the consultations accurately. Despite encountering challenges during development, experimentation with these sensing technologies has yielded promising results. The system achieved a maximum ROUGE-1 metric score of 0.57, demonstrating its effectiveness in summarizing complex medical discussions. This sensor-based approach aims to alleviate the administrative burden on healthcare professionals by automating documentation tasks and safeguarding important patient information. Ultimately, by enhancing the efficiency and reliability of clinical documentation, this innovative method contributes to improving overall healthcare outcomes.

The transformer model is a famous natural language processing model proposed by Google in 2017. Now, with the extensive development of deep learning, many natural language processing tasks can be solved by deep learning methods. After the BERT model was proposed, many pre-trained models such as the XLNet model, the RoBERTa model, and the ALBERT model were also proposed in the research community. These models perform very well in various natural language processing tasks. In this paper, we describe and compare these well-known models. In addition, we also apply several types of existing and well-known models which are the BERT model, the XLNet model, the RoBERTa model, the GPT2 model, and the ALBERT model to different existing and well-known natural language processing tasks, and analyze each model based on their performance. There are a few papers that comprehensively compare various transformer models. In our paper, we use six types of well-known tasks, such as sentiment analysis, question answering, text generation, text summarization, name entity recognition, and topic modeling tasks to compare the performance of various transformer models. In addition, using the existing models, we also propose ensemble learning models for the different natural language processing tasks. One of the important application of natural language processing (NLP) is Name Entity Recognition (NER). It automatically recognise and categorise named entities in a document. Named Entities can be the name of an individual, group, place, etc. It is crucial to the success of NER applications including text summarization, machine translation and information extraction and retrieval. It is one of the most useful application tools for a variety of topics and languages. Despite its widespread use and effectiveness in English, this field is currently under investigation for other Indian languages, such as Bodo. Due to the lack of resources and a high-quality dataset, NER in Bodo is a difficult task. In this research, a deep learning-based NER tagger is investigated for the Bodo language and NER tagged dataset is generated for Bodo language using Docanno and enlarge the dataset size by employing a data augmentation technique. As there is no Bodo NER baseline model to compared with, we employed several deep learning techniques for Bodo NER System and compared their results. We achieved an accuracy of 99.62%, precision of 99.75%, recall of 98.74% and F-score of 99.35% when employed with LSTM and character based. Legal document Summarization poses a difficult challenge because of the complexity and diversity of legal language and concepts. In recent years, deep learning models have shown promising results in summarizing legal documents. The article examines the challenges of legal document summarization, reviews the state-of-the-art deep learning models, and identifies research gaps in this area. Multi-document summarization (MDS) is a topic of much attention in extensive knowledge areas. Extractive MDS techniques intend to shrink the text from a document compilation by enclosing essential content and minimizing unnecessary data. MDS is more challenging than single document summarization and has several weaknesses, including an inaccurate selection of important sentences, a percentage of low coverage, and redundancy among the sentences. To address these issues, our proposed system focuses on pioneering an innovative automated extractive MDS approach. The process begins with original document pre-processing, followed by the extraction of features such as modified TF-IDF, Bag of Word (BOW), and concept similarity (CS) features. These features are then inputted into a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) framework. The model's weights are fine-tuned using the Improved Dingo Optimization (IDO) technique. The proposed model is evaluated on the Amazon Review and DUC-2002 datasets and compared its performance with various existing algorithms. The results demonstrated significant enhancements over baseline models, with an accuracy of 0.922862 for the Amazon Review dataset and 0.899730 for the DUC2002 dataset. Nowadays, the Internet is a structure that people can access easily and at the same time produce content easily and without control. In parallel with this situation, the ability of extract information from the raw data that makes up big data has become more complex. The fact that the headlines of the contents contain uncontrolled and misleading elements makes it difficult to reach the right information. The headlines of the contents are important for people to reach the information they want in their limited time. In this study, it is aimed to produce headlines suitable for the content instead of headlines that may be misleading for news. For this purpose, an application that produces headlines for Turkish news with deep learning method has been developed. SuDer news corpus is used as dataset. For the training of the model, it is aimed to obtain more humanoid results in the production of news headlines by using the Transformer architecture, which is frequently preferred in natural language studies today and the abstract summarization method. In this study, in order to compare the performance of the Transformer model, models are prepared and trained with Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) architectures. At the end of 25 epochs of training with LSTM, GRU and Transformer architectures on the corpus, the values of loss are 1.03, 0.55 and 2.49 respectively. In the experiments performed on the validation data, measurements are made with ROUGE-1, ROUGE-2 and ROUGE-L metrics. As a result of the measurements, it is observed that the Transformer architecture is partially good, based on the metric values produced. In addition, when the headlines produced with these architectures are examined, it is observed that the headline obtained with the Transformer architecture produce headlines that are partially more suitable for the news content compared to other architectures. Fine-tuning a pre-trained sequence-to-sequence-based language model has significantly advanced the field of abstractive summarization. However, the early models of abstractive summarization were limited by the gap between training and inference, and they did not fully utilize the potential of the language model. Recent studies have introduced a two-stage framework that allows the second-stage model to re-rank the candidate summary generated by the first-stage model, to resolve these limitations. In this study, we point out that the supervision method performed in the existing re-ranking model of the two-stage abstractive summarization framework cannot learn detailed and complex information of the data. In addition, we present the problem of positional bias in the existing encoder–decoder-based re-ranking model. To address these two limitations, this study proposes a hierarchical supervision method that jointly performs summary and sentence-level supervision. For sentence-level supervision, we designed two sentence-level loss functions: intra- and inter-intra-sentence ranking losses. Compared to the existing abstractive summarization model, the proposed method exhibited a performance improvement for both the CNN/DM and XSum datasets. The proposed model outperformed the baseline model under a few-shot setting.

Bayesian Active Learning has had significant impact to various NLP problems, but nevertheless its application to text summarization has been explored very little. We introduce Bayesian Active Summarization (BAS), as a method of combining active learning methods with state-of-the-art summarization models. Our findings suggest that BAS achieves better and more robust performance, compared to random selection, particularly for small and very small data annotation budgets. More specifically, applying BAS with a summarization model like PEGASUS we managed to reach 95% of the performance of the fully trained model, using less than 150 training samples. Furthermore, we have reduced standard deviation by 18% compared to the conventional random selection strategy. Citations are crucial artifacts to provide additional information to the reader to comprehend the research under concern. There are different roles that citations play in scientific discourse. Correctly identifying the intent of the citations finds applications ranging from predicting scholarly impact, finding idea propagation, to text summarization. With the rapid growth in scientific literature, the need for automated methods to classify citations is now growing intense. However, we can only fully understand the intent of a citation if we look at the citation context in the citing paper and also the primary purpose of the cited article. In this work, we propose a neural multi-task learning framework that harnesses the structural information of the research papers and the cited paper's information for the effective classification of citation intents. We analyze the impact of three auxiliary tasks on the performance of our approach for citation classification. Our experiments on three benchmark citation classification datasets show that incorporating cited paper information (title) shows that our deep neural model achieves a new state-of-the-art on the ACL-ARC dataset with an absolute increase of 5.3% in the F1 score over the previous best model. We also achieve comparable performance with respect to the best-performing systems in the SDP 2021 3C Shared task on Citation Context Classification. In text summarization research, readability is a great issue that must be addressed. Our hypothesis is readability can be accomplished by using text representations that keep the meaning of text documents intact. Therefore, this study aims to combine sequential pattern mining (SPM) in producing a sequence of a word as text representation with unsupervised deep learning to produce an Indonesian text summary called DeepSPM. This research uses PrefixSpan as an SPM algorithm and deep belief network (DBN) as an unsupervised deep learning method. This research uses 18,774 Indonesian news text from IndoSum. The readability aspect is evaluated by recalloriented understudy for gisting evaluation (ROUGE) as a co-selection-based analysis; Dwiyanto Djoko Pranowo metrics, Gunning fog index (GFI), and Flesch-Kincaid grade level (FKGL) as content-based analysis; and human readability evaluation with two experts. The experiment result shows that DeepSPM yields better than DBN, with the F-measure value of ROUGE-1 enhanced to 0.462, ROUGE-2 is 0.37, and ROUGE-L is 0.41. The significance of ROUGE results also be tested using T-Test. The contentbased analysis and human readability evaluation findings are conformable with the findings of co-selection-based analysis that generated summaries are only partially readable or have a medium level of readability aspect. The rapid growth of digital technologies and natural language processing (NLP) have revolutionized the field of education, creating new demand for automated academic assistance systems. In this paper, we present an NLPbased academic assistance chatbot designed to provide comprehensive support to students and researchers using deep learning techniques. The chatbot incorporates a range of intelligent features to assist with university recommendations, article writing, automatic question answering (QA), and job search. By leveraging sentiment analysis and sarcasm detection models. The proposed chatbot could offer accurate and insightful university recommendations. Additionally, the chatbot incorporates spell and grammar checking, summarization, paraphrasing, and topic modeling capabilities to aid users in enhancing their writing skills. The QA module enables users to obtain quick and precise answers to factoid-based questions. Moreover, the chatbot helps with internships and job search. According to literature, this work presents the first assistance chatbot that encapsulates all features that may be needed by a university student to facilitate and improve his/her learning process. Text information extraction from a tabular structure within a compound document image (CDI) is crucial to help better understand the document. The main objective of text extraction is to extract only helpful information since tabular data represents the relation between text lying in a tuple. Text from an image may be of low contrast, different style, size, alignment, orientation, and complex background. This work presents a three-step tabular text extraction process, including pre-processing, separation, and extraction. The pre-processing step uses the guide image filter to remove various kinds of noise from the image. Improved binomial thresholding (IBT) separates the text from the image. Then the tabular text is recognized and extracted from CDI using deep neural network (DNN). In this work, weights of DNN layers are optimized by the Harris Hawk optimization algorithm (HHOA). Obtained text and associated information can be used in many ways, including replicating the document in digital format, information retrieval, and text summarization. Automatic summarization of news articles plays a crucial role in information retrieval and consumption. This research paper presents an approach for summarizing Google News articles across four distinct classes: business, sports, entertainment, and technology. We collect a set of news items from these categories by utilizing the T5 Transformer model. The acquired articles are preprocessed and turned into a text-to-text format, where the complete article text is the input and a succinct summary is the desired output. The T5 model may be improved on this dataset to produce precise and useful summaries for each news category. Moreover, the generated summaries are accompanied by links that direct users to the original articles, providing an option for accessing the complete content. Experimental evaluation using established metrics demonstrates the effectiveness of our approach in generating high-quality summaries across different news domains. Cyberattacks have been increasing in volume and intensity, necessitating proactive measures. Cybersecurity risk management frameworks are deployed to provide actionable intelligence to mitigate potential threats by analyzing the available cybersecurity data. Existing frameworks, such as MITRE ATT&CK, provide timely mitigation strategies against attacker capabilities yet do not account for hacker data when developing cyber threat intelligence. Therefore, we developed a novel information technology artifact, ATT&CK-Link, which incorporates a novel transformer and multi-teacher knowledge distillation design, to link hacker threats to this broadly used framework. Here, we illustrated how hospital systems can use this framework to proactively protect their cyberinfrastructure against hacker threats. Our ATT&CK-Link framework has practical implications for cybersecurity professionals, who can implement our framework to generate strategic, operational, and tactical cyber threat intelligence. Large language models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT, have demonstrated impressive capabilities in various tasks and attracted increasing interest as a natural language interface across many domains. Recently, large vision-language models (VLMs) that learn rich vision–language correlation from image–text pairs, like BLIP-2 and GPT-4, have been intensively investigated. However, despite these developments, the application of LLMs and VLMs in image quality assessment (IQA), particularly in medical imaging, remains unexplored. This is valuable for objective performance evaluation and potential supplement or even replacement of radiologists' opinions. To this end, this study introduces IQAGPT, an innovative computed tomography (CT) IQA system that integrates image-quality captioning VLM with ChatGPT to generate quality scores and textual reports. First, a CT-IQA dataset comprising 1,000 CT slices with diverse quality levels is professionally annotated and compiled for training and evaluation. To better leverage the capabilities of LLMs, the annotated quality scores are converted into semantically rich text descriptions using a prompt template. Second, the image-quality captioning VLM is fine-tuned on the CT-IQA dataset to generate quality descriptions. The captioning model fuses image and text features through cross-modal attention. Third, based on the quality descriptions, users verbally request ChatGPT to rate image-quality scores or produce radiological quality reports. Results demonstrate the feasibility of assessing image quality using LLMs. The proposed IQAGPT outperformed GPT-4 and CLIP-IQA, as well as multitask classification and regression models that solely rely on images. In recent years, artificial intelligence has made remarkable strides, improving various aspects of our daily lives. One notable application is in intelligent chatbots that use deep learning models. These systems have shown tremendous promise in the medical sector, enhancing healthcare quality, treatment efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. However, their role in aiding disease diagnosis, particularly chronic conditions, remains underexplored. Addressing this issue, this study employs large language models from the GPT series, in conjunction with deep learning techniques, to design and develop a diagnostic system targeted at chronic diseases. Specifically, performed transfer learning and fine-tuning on the GPT-2 model, enabling it to assist in accurately diagnosing 24 common chronic diseases. To provide a user-friendly interface and seamless interactive experience, we further developed a dialog-based interface, naming it Chat Ella. This system can make precise predictions for chronic diseases based on the symptoms described by users. Experimental results indicate that our model achieved an accuracy rate of 97.50% on the validation set, and an area under the curve (AUC) value reaching 99.91%. Moreover, conducted user satisfaction tests, which revealed that 68.7% of participants approved of Chat Ella, while 45.3% of participants found the system made daily medical consultations more convenient. It can rapidly and accurately assess a patient's condition based on the symptoms described and provide timely feedback, making it of significant value in the design of medical auxiliary products for household use. Accurately predicting agricultural commodity prices is crucial for India's economy. Traditional parametric models struggle with stringent assumptions, while machine learning (ML) approaches, though data-driven, lack automatic feature extraction. Deep learning (DL) models, with advanced feature extraction and predictive abilities, offer a promising solution. However, their application to agricultural price data ignored the exogenous factors. Hence, the study explored advanced versions of the well-known univariate models, NBEATSX and TransformerX. The research employed price data for essential crops like Tomato, Onion, and Potato (TOP) from major Indian markets and complemented it with corresponding weather data (precipitation and temperature). To provide a comprehensive analysis, the study also evaluated traditional statistical methods (ARIMAX and MLR) and a suite of ML algorithms (ANN, SVR, RFR, and XGBoost). The performance of these models was rigorously evaluated using error metrics like RMSE, MAE, sMAPE, MASE and QL. The findings were significant indicating DL models, particularly when augmented with exogenous variables, consistently outshone other methods with NBEATSX and TransformerX showing an average RMSE of 110.33 and 135.33, MAE of 60.08 and 74.92, sMAPE of 22.14 and 24.00, MASE of 1.02 and 1.32 and QL of 30.04 and 34.07, respectively. They exhibited lower error metrics, as compare to the statistical and ML models underscoring their effectiveness and potential in agricultural crop price forecasting. This study not only bridged a crucial research gap but also highlighted the robust potential of DL models in enhancing the accuracy of agricultural commodity price predictions in India. In ecology and evolutionary biology, the synthesis and modelling of data from published literature are commonly used to generate insights and test theories across systems. However, the tasks of searching, screening, and extracting data from literature are often arduous. Researchers may manually process hundreds to thousands of articles for systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and compiling synthetic datasets. As relevant articles expand to tens or hundreds of thousands, computer-based approaches can increase the efficiency, transparency and reproducibility of literature-based research. Methods available for text mining are rapidly changing owing to developments in machine learning-based language models. We review the growing landscape of approaches, mapping them onto three broad paradigms (frequency-based approaches, traditional Natural Language Processing and deep learning-based language models). This serves as an entry point to learn foundational and cutting-edge concepts, vocabularies, and methods to foster integration of these tools into ecological and evolutionary research. We cover approaches for modelling ecological texts, generating training data, developing custom models and interacting with large language models and discuss challenges and possible solutions to implementing these methods in ecology and evolution. Video classification has achieved remarkable success in recent years, driven by advanced deep learning models that automatically categorize video content. This paper provides a comprehensive review of video classification techniques and the datasets used in this field. We summarize key findings from recent research, focusing on network architectures, model evaluation metrics, and parallel processing methods that enhance training speed. Our review includes an in-depth analysis of state-of-the-art deep learning models and hybrid architectures, comparing models to traditional approaches and highlighting their advantages and limitations. Critical challenges such as handling large-scale datasets, improving model robustness, and addressing computational constraints are explored. By evaluating performance metrics, we identify areas where current models excel and where improvements are needed. Additionally, we discuss data augmentation techniques designed to enhance dataset accuracy and address specific challenges in video classification tasks. This survey also examines the evolution of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) in image processing and their adaptation to video classification tasks. Natural Language Processing has been extensively researched for languages with abundant resources like English and Spanish, but low-resource languages present unique challenges and opportunities. Consequently, the performance of learning algorithms for downstream tasks in low resource languages, such as the Indic languages Bhojpuri and Maithili, is unsatisfactory. To address these challenges, we collect a corpus of 20,000 sentences in both Bhojpuri and Maithili each and use them to develop word representations using popular the approaches such as Word2Vec, FastText, and GloVe. The evaluation of the word representation is accomplished through machine translation and text classification tasks. Among the various models used in the experiments, word2Vec with Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) outperforms GloVe and FastText in machine translation task, achieving a BiLingual Evaluation Understudy score of 32.95 for Bhojpuri to English and 28.95 for Maithili to English. Additionally, the BERT model provides a good text classification accuracy of 71.23% for Bhojpuri and 66.91% for Maithili. In recent years, with the continuous development of deep learning and knowledge graph reasoning methods, more and more researchers have shown great interest in improving knowledge graph reasoning methods by inferring missing facts through reasoning. By searching paths on the knowledge graph and making fact and link predictions based on these paths, deep learning-based Reinforcement Learning (RL) agents can demonstrate good performance and interpretability. Therefore, deep reinforcement learning-based knowledge reasoning methods have rapidly emerged in recent years and have become a hot research topic. However, even in a small and fixed knowledge graph reasoning action space, there are still a large number of invalid actions. It often leads to the interruption of RL agents' wandering due to the selection of invalid actions, resulting in a significant decrease in the success rate of path mining. In order to improve the success rate of RL agents in the early stages of path search, this article proposes a knowledge reasoning method based on Deep Transfer Reinforcement Learning path (DTRLpath). Before supervised pre-training and retraining, a pre-task of searching for effective actions in a single step is added. The RL agent is first trained in the pre-task to improve its ability to search for effective actions. Then, the trained agent is transferred to the target reasoning task for path search training, which improves its success rate in searching for target task paths. Finally, based on the comparative experimental results on the FB15K-237 and NELL-995 datasets, it can be concluded that the proposed method significantly improves the success rate of path search and outperforms similar methods in most reasoning tasks. There is a pressing need for healthcare conversational agents with domain-specific expertise to ensure the provision of accurate and reliable information tailored to specific medical contexts. Moreover, there is a notable gap in research ensuring the credibility and trustworthiness of the information provided by these healthcare agents, particularly in critical scenarios such as medical emergencies. Pilgrims come from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, often facing difficulties in accessing medical advice and information. Establishing an AI-powered multilingual chatbot can bridge this gap by providing readily available medical guidance and support, contributing to the well-being and safety of pilgrims. In this paper, we present a comprehensive methodology aimed at enhancing the reliability and efficacy of healthcare conversational agents, with a specific focus on addressing the needs of Hajj pilgrims. Our approach leverages domain-specific fine-tuning techniques on a large language model, alongside synthetic data augmentation strategies, to optimize performance in delivering contextually relevant healthcare information by introducing the HajjHealthQA dataset. Additionally, we employ a retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) module as a crucial component to validate uncertain generated responses, which improves model performance by 5%. Moreover, we train a secondary AI agent on a well-known health fact-checking dataset and use it to validate medical information in the generated responses. Our approach significantly elevates the chatbot's accuracy, demonstrating its adaptability to a wide range of pilgrim queries. We evaluate the chatbot's performance using quantitative and qualitative metrics, highlighting its proficiency in generating accurate responses and achieve competitive results compared to state-of-the-art models, in addition to mitigating the risk of misinformation and providing users with trustworthy health information. With the fast development of large software projects, automatic code summarization techniques, which summarize the main functionalities of a piece of code using natural languages as comments, play essential roles in helping developers understand and maintain large software projects. Many research efforts have been devoted to building automatic code summarization approaches. Typical code summarization approaches are based on deep learning models. They transform the task into a sequence-to-sequence task, which inputs source code and outputs summarizations in natural languages. All code summarization models impose different input size limits, such as 50 to 10,000, for the input source code. However, how the input size limit affects the performance of code summarization models still remains under-explored. In this article, we first conduct an empirical study to investigate the impacts of different input size limits on the quality of generated code comments. To our surprise, experiments on multiple models and datasets reveal that setting a low input size limit, such as 20, does not necessarily reduce the quality of generated comments. Based on this finding, we further propose to use function signatures instead of full source code to summarize the main functionalities first and then input the function signatures into code summarization models. Experiments and statistical results show that inputs with signatures are, on average, more than 2 percentage points better than inputs without signatures and thus demonstrate the effectiveness of involving function signatures in code summarization. We also invite programmers to do a questionnaire to evaluate the quality of code summaries generated by two inputs with different truncation levels. Extractive document summary is usually seen as a sequence labeling task, which the summary is formulated by sentences from the original document. However, the selected sentences usually are high redundancy in semantic space, so that the composed summary are high semantic redundancy. To alleviate this problem, we propose a model to reduce the semantic redundancy of summary by introducing the cluster algorithm to select difference sentences in semantic space and we improve the base BERT to score sentences. We evaluate our model and perform significance testing using ROUGE on the CNN/DailyMail datasets compare with six baselines, which include two traditional methods and four state-of-art deep learning model.
