The article reflects the view of the author regarding the suggestion of U.S. Senator Barry Goldwater and "Life Magazine" on the Cold War against Russia and China. They recently suggested that America’s foremost national purpose should be directed to win the cold war. According to the author, it is significant that the country have a clear notion of what it is trying to carry out in the current international contest. He contends that it is not true that the goal of winning the cold war suggests that the major task at hand is for the good guys to baffle the bad guys. The realism that the Americans are strongly opposed to having the Communists take over and run the free world does not mean that they want to take over and run the communist world.
