The acceptance of IoT technologies in education by pre-service teachers will affect their intention to use these technologies in the future. Previous research has addressed the effects of variables on the acceptance of IoT technologies in education to a limited degree. Therefore, this study aims to propose and test a structural model that determines educational IoT technology acceptance. This study, the acceptance of IoT in the educational environment is modeled in the context of individual innovativeness and information and communication technologies (ICT) competencies. According to the results of the research conducted with 471 pre-service teachers, 69% intended to use IoT in education is explained in a technology acceptance model (TAM) in which TAM variables, individual innovativeness, and ICT competencies are combined. In many fields, AI chatbots continue to be popular with new tools and attract the attention of universities, K12 schools, educational organizations, and researchers. The aim of this research is to review the research on AI chatbots by restricting it to the category of education and to examine this research from a methodological point of view. Therefore, we performed a systematic literature review with a sample of 37 SSCI articles published in the educational context. Within the scope of the selected studies, the advantages and disadvantages of AI chatbots in education for students and educators, as well as the types of chatbots used, year, keywords, and method were analyzed. According to the research results, increased motivation to learn and language skill development are advantages for students, while cost-effectiveness and reduced workload are advantages for educators. Limited interaction, misleading answers for learners, originality, and plagiarism are the most common disadvantages for educators. Background: The COVID‐19 pandemic has spread quickly, e‐learning became compulsory and disseminated throughout the world. During the pandemic, smartphones are frequently used to access e‐learning content, but connecting to technological tools increased the risk of cyberloafing during e‐courses. Currently, there are a limited number of studies on how e‐learning will evolve under compulsory conditions. Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between emotion regulation, e‐learning readiness, technology usage status (TUS), in‐class smartphone cyberloafing, and smartphone addiction (SA) of the students during the pandemic. Methods: In total 1294 students participated in this study. A research model was tested by structural equation modelling. Results and Conclusion: The findings of this study indicated that there is a relationship between TUS and SA. Emotion regulation was related to SA. E‐learning readiness levels can help to explain cyberloafing. This study presents a conceptual model of the variables that affect cyberloafing in the context of the e‐learning environment. This study is designed to reveal the research trends of graduate theses published in the field of computer programming in K-12 between 2018 and 2022. Document analysis was used for data collection in this study. The data was divided into 9 categories, and the results demonstrated that the scholars in the Departments of Computer Educational and Instructional Technologies (CEIT) at Atatürk University and Ondokuz Mayıs University of Türkiye mainly published master's theses in this field in 2019. Another result was that though CEIT is also the main department for doctoral theses, no difference exists in terms of years or universities. "Teaching, learning, and training programming" and "computational thinking" are the most frequently used keywords in graduate programs, respectively. While quantitative and mixed method (parallel, convergent), convenience sampling, and psychometric scales are preferred in master's theses, mixed method (explanatory, mixed), purposive sampling, interviews/focus group interviews, and psychometric scales are preferred in doctoral theses, respectively. Observation and semi-structured interview forms are used as data collection tools in the theses. Although quantitative methods are mainly utilized in data analysis, parametric and non-parametric statistical tests are also used, and content analysis is resorted to as part of qualitative methods. Whilst validity and reliability studies have been carried out measurement toolsare employed in master's theses, scales have been developed in doctoral theses. Background: The relationship between smartphone addiction (SPA) and loneliness is examined in several studies, however, the mediating effects of the variables related to narcissism and the family on the relationship between SPA and loneliness are not yet available in the literature. Objective: The present study investigates the role of SPA on loneliness and the moderating effects of narcissistic personality and family belonging on loneliness. Participants and Setting: Data required for research were obtained via an online survey from undergraduate students (n = 500) studying at a public university. Methods: In the study, the relationship between the variables was determined by path analysis. Results: The results of the path analysis show that there is a significant positive relationship between SPA and loneliness. According to the model, no significant relationship was found between narcissistic personality and family‐belonging level. There is a negative and significant mediation effect between SPA and narcissistic personality traits. There is a positive and significant mediation effect between SPA and family belonging. The results of the research are discussed with regard to university students and future directions. Conclusions: According to these research results, SPA predicts loneliness. As the level of family belonging decreases, SPA increases. The relationship between university students and their families and environments is among the variables that should be considered when evaluating SPA. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge, one of the frameworks proposed in order to popularize the use of technology in a classroom environment, has been customized and has taken the form of Web Pedagogical Content Knowledge. The Relational Screening Model was used in this study. It aims to determine whether a profile of preservice teachers based on their “individual innovativeness” can be used as a significant predictor in also categorizing them according to their knowledge of web technology, pedagogy, and content. A total of 170 preservice teachers studying at various departments of the Faculty of Education at a public university in Ankara, Turkey participated in the study. This study, in which Discriminant Analysis was used to determine whether this predictor is significant or not, found that teachers in the Early Majority category had high scores in terms of pedagogical web content and general web knowledge, and that “individual innovativeness” was effective in predicting the general web and communicative web categories to which they belonged. The current study investigates the attitudes of teachers towards Computer-Assisted Education (CAE) and their knowledge of technology, pedagogy and content via TPACK model that assesses the competencies for developing and implementing successful teaching. There were 280 participants in the study. The results of the study indicate that teachers' attitudes towards CAE scores are much higher than their TPACK scores. There is a low level positive correlation between their TPACK competencies and their attitudes towards CAE. Particularly, teachers' competencies of Technology Knowledge (TK) and Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK) have much higher relationship with their attitude towards CAE when compared to other competencies. Attitude toward CAE is observed to differ by gender. As for TPACK competencies, TK and Technological Content Knowledge (TCK) differ by gender. The TPACK framework explains 20% of attitudes towards CAE. TK is the construct having the highest effect in explaining the attitude towards using CAE. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Owing to advancements in both information and communication technologies and especially in the internet infrastructure, globalization has shifted to the next dimension; and these developments in technology has expressed its significance in online education like other domains of life. Utilization from new technologies has significantly minimized limitation brought by space and time in online learning progressively. Now, individuals are able to take classes from any institutions across the word. Accordingly, this situation has motivated majority of education institutions around the world to look for ways to maintain their courses or various education programs in e-learning environment more effectively. Along this process, studies on significant factors on application of technology have intensified. One of these key factors is considered as personal characteristic. When it comes to utilization of technology, individual innovativeness concept gains prominence based on personal behaviors relevant with innovativeness. Attitudes of pre-service teacher towards e-learning are influent on numbers of variable relevant with e-course. Thus, the purpose of the present study is to reveal the changes in attitudes of pre-service teachers who take online classes towards online learning with respect to their individual innovativeness levels. Study data was collected from students who take online classes through distance education system in a bachelor degree program at faculty of education at a public university. On the basis of collected data, it was revealed that pre-service teachers' attitude towards e-learning differs significantly according to respondents' levels of individual innovativeness. This study aimed to investigate pre-service teachers' perceptions on the use of blogs regarding ICT integration in the FATIH project in Turkey. Participants were 174 pre-service teachers continuing their education. Data collection tool was a questionnaire which measured pre-service teachers' perceptions of the blogs. Questionnaire embodied some sub-categories of blog use such as learning, motivation, active participation, writing skills, group work, and critical thinking. Findings revealed that using blogs in classes affected learning and teaching process. The obtained results also showed that the blogs contributed to the recuperation of writing and critical thinking skills. These results indicated that students found social contributions of the blogs such as sharing information and interacting with peers. This study aims to develop a measuring instrument for determining the sense of community in online learning. The group of subjects included 245 students who studied in the Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology in 2011-2012 academic year and participated in an online learning community. Explanatory and confirmatory factor analyses were carried out on the acquired data. As a result of the explanatory factor analysis, a 28-item measuring instrument with 3 factors was produced; the total variance that the factors explained regarding the scale was 42.65%. Cronbach's alpha coefficient of internal consistency, which was calculated depending on the item analysis for the reliability of the scale, was found to be 0.88 for the whole factor; the reliability coefficient for the test-retest measures of the scale was found to be 0.84. The confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the scale model was theoretically and statistically appropriate. Since the second half of the 20th century, the developments in the field of information technologies and the Internet have introduced significant changes in both traditional and distance learning and e-learning has become one of the fundamental elements of education. While e-learning and educational use of the Internet have been getting more common, higher education institutions have been reviewing and restructuring their own positions in line with the developments in these areas. Around 50 universities in Turkey started remote education programs. Furthermore new tools to promote face to face education continue to exist on the Internet and to increase the efficiency of the courses. Since the beginning of the second part of 2000s, the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) has been leading the work for the implementation of the project of open course materials in order to improve the effectiveness of face to face courses and it has been supported by a number of universities. In the study, the situation in Gazi University was evaluated; the informatics system and the open course materials developed by the university in the process of e-learning were examined and the study also determined the extent to which students use the Internet for educational purposes. The result of the research shows that the efforts for creating open course materials in Gazi University have not proved sufficient yet. According to the results of the research, it was determined that the students' belief in their self-efficacy in the educational use of the Internet was at medium level. Gender and educational status of father were found to be related with self-efficacy. On the other hand, it was revealed that self-efficacy was not linked to the educational status of mother, having a computer, or taking computer classes in high school. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
