Interpreters have relied on it throughout the ages, including Sheikh Al-Sayyid Amir Ali al-Hindi, in his tafseer called "Mawaheb ul Rahman". In this article, the researcher focused on extracting rules for preferences in context from his aforementioned interpretation, and eventually evaluating them, including practical examples.

Furthermore, it became popular in the 19th century as was the case in India namely Syed Ameer Ali, one of the figures who advocate the spirit of rationalism. Syed Ameer Ali had been said to have made the philosophy of rationalism as the principle of his life in fighting for the true meaning of Islam. It also aims to rescue the Muslims from the rut of the realm of intellectual lethargy and emulate the intellectual awakening epitomized by the Abbasid empire. Therefore, this paper will discuss Syed Ameer Ali’s idea of discourse on Islamic thought based on his great works.

This paper examines whether there is any truth in the contention that Syed Ameer Ali (to adopt the English formulation of his name that he himself used) was an effective interpreter of Islam between East and West. To that end, it examines his background and early life, his credibility as an interpreter of Islam to the British elite and as a Muslim interpreter of Christianity. It concludes that he was far more at home in Western intellectual assumptions of his day than in Islamic scholarship and was not the effective interpreter he aspired to be. This raises on‐going questions about whether there is any future for Islamic modernism or whether it is too tainted by association with imperialism and other Western phenomena.

Background: L-Ascorbic acid (AA) is a highly unstable compound, thus, limiting its use in pharmaceutical and cosmetic products, particularly at higher concentrations. Objective: This study aimed to stabilize the highly sensitive molecule (AA) by encapsulating it in β- cyclodextrin nanosponges (β-CD NS) that can be used further in preparing cosmeceuticals products with higher AA concentrations and enhanced stability. Methods: The NS has been synthesized by the melting method. The AA was encapsulated in β-CD NS by the freeze-drying process. The prepared NS were characterized by FTIR spectrometry, SEM, Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), zeta sizer, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), and the physical flow characteristics were also studied. The in vitro drug release was carried out on the Franz apparatus using a combination of two methods: sample & separate and dialysis membrane. The assay was performed using a validated spectrometric method. Results: The entrapment efficiency of AA in β-CD NS indicated a good loading capacity (83.57±6.35%). The FTIR, SEM, AFM, and DSC results confirmed the encapsulation of AA in β-CD NS. The particle size, polydispersity index, and zeta potential results ascertained the formation of stabilized monodisperse nanoparticles. The physical flow characteristics showed good flow properties. Around 84% AA has been released from the NS in 4 h following the Korsmeyer-Peppas model. The AA-loaded NS remained stable for nine months when stored at 30±2°C/65±5% RH. Conclusion: It is concluded that the prepared NS can protect the highly sensitive AA from degradation and provide an extended-release of the vitamin. The prepared AA-loaded β-CD NS can be used to formulate other cosmeceutical dosage forms with better stability and effect.

Background: This study sought to determine, in retrospect, the effect of Sacubitril/Valsartan on the echocardiographic and functional class of ambulatory HFrEF patients taking conventional heart failure therapy. Methods: We conducted a retrospective observational single-center cohort of ninety HFrEF patients with NYHA Class II-III attending as an outpatient at a tertiary cardiac care facility between November 2018 and January 2020. Standardized two-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography and functional class evaluation were conducted at baseline and after 03-month of SV treatment. Results: At 03-month follow-up evaluation, SV treatment was found to contribute substantially in reversing the cardiac remodeling of HFrEF patients as evidenced by improvement in LVEF (28.51±5.06 to 36.01±10.63; p < 0.001), LVEDD (57.29±7.99 to 53.14±8.22; p

Companies look up to influencers because they are seen as thought leaders who mediate between the company and its followers. This results in their taking on the role of brand ambassadors or spokespersons. They play a significant role in helping businesses develop what they call a "digital relationship" with their clientele by supplementing and amplifying more traditional forms of marketing. They see digital connection as crucial in the current business climate. This study examined the effects of influencer credibility, customer review, and customer interaction on consumers' intent to buy after seeing an endorsement from an influencer, with an emphasis on Purchase intention. The study's findings indicate that customer involvement is the most important factor in determining whether a consumer will follow through on a purchase intent prompted by an influencer. The credibility of influencers had a notably large impact on consumer engagement; however, trustworthiness was also a factor. Online shoppers place a high value on accessibility to information. Because they both include customers sharing their experience and appraisal of a product or service with other potential purchasers, customer reviews and influencer endorsements can be considered customer reviews. This research reveals that consumer reviews have little impact on consumers' propensity to make a purchase. Influencer endorsement, but not customer reviews, affects desire to buy premium goods. However, the role of customer reviews as a moderator between trustworthiness and desire to buy was not established in this research.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide a comprehensive framework for addressing social, economic, and environmental challenges facing countries around the world. The role of parliaments in implementing the SDGs has been widely recognized, but the extent of their impact remains uncertain, particularly in developing countries such as Pakistan. This paper aims to investigate the role of parliament in implementing the SDGs in Pakistan and to draw lessons from other countries that have successfully integrated the SDGs into their legislative processes. To achieve this objective, a qualitative research design was employed, which included a comprehensive analysis of lessons learned from other countries. The findings suggest that while the Pakistani parliament has taken steps towards aligning its policies with the SDGs, there is still a long way to go in terms of effective implementation. Lessons learned from other countries indicate that parliamentary oversight, public participation, and capacity building are key factors in successful implementation of the SDGs. The paper concludes with a series of recommendations for enhancing the role of parliament in implementing the SDGs in Pakistan.

Thyroid hormones are involved in the control of insulin secretion, beta-cell function/multiplication, liver glucose synthesis, output and peripheral utilization. Thyroid dysfunction identification and correction help in glycemic control. Objective: To know the frequency of thyroid dysfunction in diabetic patients. Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was done in the Medical-C Department, Ayub Teaching Hospital Abbottabad from July 2018 to August 2019. Total 150 diabetic patients were enrolled by using non-probability consective sampling. Patients were labelled as diabetics on the basis of diabetes history, anti-diabetic medications use, high blood glucose (>200mg/dl) on presentation or on previous high blood sugar reading or a high HbA1c value. Fresh venous blood sample was sent for thyroid function tests (T3, T4 and TSH). Thyroid dysfunction in our study was defined as patient having Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) value above or below the normal range. Data of patients were collected on study pro forma and was analyzed using statistical program SPSS version-20.0 Results: There were 67 (44.66%) male and 83 (55.33%) female patients. The mean age was 51.83 ± 14.52 years. Thyroid dysfunction was detected in 37 (24.66%) study participants. Out of 67 male patients, 11 (16.41%) had thyroid dysfunction and out of 83 female patients, 26 (31.32%) had thyroid dysfunction. Subclinical hypothyroidism was present in 4 (2.7%), 5 (3.3%) had hypothyroidism, 20 (13.3%) had subclinical hyperthyroidism and 8 (5.3%) had hyperthyroidism. Conclusion: This study suggests that a significant portion of diabetic patients suffer from thyroid dysfunction.

Individuals diagnosed with cardiac diseases often experience poor mental health outcomes. However, grit, social support and internal locus of control can provide protective effects against poor mental health in patients diagnosed with cardiovascular diseases. The purpose of the present study was to assess the predictive and protective role of grit, internal locus of control and social support with regard to mental health of cardiac patients. A total of 250 cardiac patients had been sampled comprising 130 males and 120 females in the age range of 30 to 70 years selected through purposive sampling. Data collection was done using Rotter’s Locus of Control Scale, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, Duckworth Grit Scale and DASS-21. Data analysis was done using Pearson correlation and regression analyses using dummy coding. Results showed that among cardiac patients, being a male in the age range of 30 to 45 years of age, being married, having higher levels of education, higher scores on grit with an internal locus of control is associated with improved mental health. It is thus concluded that having an internal locus of control, higher levels of social support and being gritty is associated with improved mental health outcomes in cardiac patients.

Neurological deterioration can occur in approximately 15% of patients with acute stroke. Several mechanisms can lead to ischemic lesion extension and subsequent neurological worsening, including re-occlusion, edema progression, and cardiovascular instability. Stroke is one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Objective: To determine the Incidence and predictors of acute symptomatic seizures after stroke at a tertiary care hospital. Methods: This Descriptive Cross-Sectional Study was conducted at Department of Neurology, Civil Hospital, Karachi, Pakistan, from April 19, 2019 to October 18, 2019. Informed consent from all the patients who fulfilled the inclusion criteria was taken after explaining the procedure, risks and benefits of the study. CT scan & continuous twelve-lead ECG were performed. Assessment for associated factors of ischemic stroke i.e., seizure, atrial fibrillation and family history of stroke were noted. All the collected data were entered into the proforma attached at the end and used electronically for research purpose. Results: Mean ± SD of age was found to be 63.14±16.7 years. Out of 251 patients, 137 (54.6%) patients were male and 114 (45.4%) were female. Diabetes Mellitus was noted in 97 (38.6%) patients. Factors associated with acute ischemic stroke i.e., seizure was noted in 31 (12.1%) while atrial fibrillation was noted in 68 (27.1%) patients and positive family history of stroke was documented in 46 (18.3%). Conclusions: It is to be concluded that atrial fibrillation was found to be the major modifiable associated factors in the development of stroke. Controlling of these risk factors might reduce the risk of stroke.

One of the most prevalent conditions affecting the oral mucosa is recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS), which is characterized by uncomfortable ulcerations on the movable or non-keratinized oral mucosa. Objective: To compare mean platelet volume (MPV) in patients of recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS) versus healthy control. Methods: This non-probability sampling case-control research included 56 RAS patients and 56 healthy controls. Patients who presented for dental treatment and have RAS in oral cavity were included. Patients with systemic inflammatory illnesses, autoimmune diseases like pemphigus, or infectious diseases like herpes who attended for dental treatment and exhibited RAS in the oral cavity were excluded. The healthy control group had no mouth ulcers or blood problems. A Student t-test compared MPV between cases and controls based on age, gender, and MPV. Results: The mean age of the participants was 29.35 ± 8.28 years, with 57 (50.89%) females and 55 (49.11%) males. The mean MPV in the RAS group (8.86 ± 0.33) was significantly higher (p < 0.001) than in the control group (6.95 ± 0.2). The univariable model coefficient of 1.91 (95% CI = 1.81-2.01, p < 0.001) indicates that the RAS group had a significantly higher MPV than the Control group. For gender, males had a lower MPV compared to females (β = -0.36), but it was not statistically significant (p = 0.056). Conclusions: RAS patients have higher platelet activity indicated by higher mean platelet volume (MPV) than healthy controls.

Supercapacitors are the cutting-edge, high performing, and emerging energy storage devices in the future of energy storage technology. It delivers high energy and produces higher specific capacitances. This research study provides insights into supercapacitor materials and their potential applications by examining different battery technologies compared with supercapacitors’ advantages and disadvantages. Transition metal hydroxides (cobalt hydroxides) have been studied to develop electrodes for supercapacitors and their use in various fields of energy and conversion devices. Cobalt-based metal oxides and hydroxides provide high-capacitance electrodes for supercapacitors. Metal hydroxides combine high electrical conductivity and excellent stability over time. The metal oxides used to prepare the electrodes for supercapacitors are cobalt-based metal oxides and hydroxides. It is stronger than most of the other oxides and has tremendous electrical conductivity. Cobalt hydroxides are also used in supercapacitors instead of other metal hydroxides, such as aluminum hydroxide, copper hydroxide, and nickel hydroxide. This study gives a complete overview of the preparation, synthesis, analysis, and characterization of cobalt hydroxide thin film electrodes by using the electrochemical deposition technique, parameters measurements, important characteristics, material properties, various applications, and future enhancement in supercapacitors.

The aim of the present work is to apply the fractional derivative to the heat transformation of a nanofluid along with ramped wall temperature. The flow is analyzed under the effect of magnetohydrodynamic together with heat transfer. A nanofluid under the application of fractional-order differential equations by Caputo–Fabrizio derivatives with respect to time has the ability to explain the behavior of nanofluid under the influence of memory concept. For the same purpose, Caputo–Fabrizio time-fractional derivative is applied to investigate the behavior of nanoparticles on the thermal conductivity of a fluid. Appropriate nondimensional variables are engaged in the equation which governs the problem and guides us to obtain the exact solutions for the fields of velocity and temperature. These obtained solutions for the nondimensional set of governing equations are found by extracting them from the governing equations by applying Laplace transform techniques along with Caputo–Fabrizio time-fractional derivative. The influence of the fractional variable on the velocity, temperature, and Nusselt number is graphically exposed and discussed. The velocity for the state of wall temperature as ramped falls down with the enlarging values of the fractional parameter. Variation in Nusselt number is shown in the tabular form. Solutions are visualized graphically to make an analysis of how the variation is taking place in the physical behavior of the nanofluid flow with respect to the change in distinct physical parameters. The obtained results here will have useful industrial and engineering implementations. It is found that fluid velocity in the flow direction decreases with the increase in the magnetic parameter. The relationship of fractional parameter with the velocity and temperature of the nanofluid is found as direct proportional for a smaller time. However, this direct proportionality converts into inverse proportionality for larger values of time. It is observed that the increase in the nanoparticles volume fraction causes an increase in temperature distribution. It is due to lower specific heat of nanoparticles and its higher thermal conductivity than that of the base fluid.

Environmental enteric dysfunction (EED) is a subclinical enteropathy prevalent in resource-limited settings, hypothesized to be a consequence of chronic exposure to environmental enteropathogens, resulting in malnutrition, growth failure, neurocognitive delays, and oral vaccine failure. This study explored the duodenal and colonic tissues of children with EED, celiac disease, and other enteropathies using quantitative mucosal morphometry, histopathologic scoring indices, and machine learning–based image analysis from archival and prospective cohorts of children from Pakistan and the United States. We observed villus blunting as being more prominent in celiac disease than in EED, as shorter lengths of villi were observed in patients with celiac disease from Pakistan than in those from the United States, with median (interquartile range) lengths of 81 (73, 127) µm and 209 (188, 266) µm, respectively. Additionally, per the Marsh scoring method, celiac disease histologic severity was increased in the cohorts from Pakistan. Goblet cell depletion and increased intraepithelial lymphocytes were features of EED and celiac disease. Interestingly, the rectal tissue from cases with EED showed increased mononuclear inflammatory cells and intraepithelial lymphocytes in the crypts compared with controls. Increased neutrophils in the rectal crypt epithelium were also significantly associated with increased EED histologic severity scores in duodenal tissue. We observed an overlap between diseased and healthy duodenal tissue upon leveraging machine learning image analysis. We conclude that EED comprises a spectrum of inflammation in the duodenum, as previously described, and the rectal mucosa, warranting the examination of both anatomic regions in our efforts to understand and manage EED.

Background: Acute mesenteric ischaemia (AMI) is a condition with high mortality. This survey assesses current attitudes and practices to manage AMI worldwide.Methods: A questionnaire survey about the practices of diagnosing and managing AMI, endorsed by several specialist societies, was sent to different medical specialists and hospitals worldwide. Data from individual health care professionals and from medical teams were collected.Results: We collected 493 individual forms from 71 countries and 94 team forms from 34 countries. Almost half of respondents were surgeons, and most of the responding teams (70%) were led by surgeons. Most of the respondents indicated that diagnosis of AMI is often delayed but rarely missed. Emergency revascularisation is often considered for patients with AMI but rarely in cases of transmural ischaemia (intestinal infarction). Responses from team hospitals with a dedicated special unit (14 team forms) indicated more aggressive revascularisation. Abdominopelvic CT-scan with intravenous contrast was suggested as the most useful diagnostic test, indicated by approximately 90% of respondents. Medical history and risk factors were thought to be more important in diagnosis of AMI without transmural ischaemia, whereas for intestinal infarction, plasma lactate concentrations and surgical exploration were considered more useful. In elderly patients, a palliative approach is often chosen over extensive bowel resection. There was a large variability in anticoagulant treatment, as well as in timing of surgery to restore bowel continuity.Conclusions: Delayed diagnosis of AMI is common despite wide availability of an adequate imaging modality, i.e. CT-scan. Large variability in treatment approaches exists, indicating the need for updated guidelines. Increased awareness and knowledge of AMI may improve current practice until more robust evidence becomes available. This article explores the cultural impact of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) on both Pakistan and China. CPEC is a multi-billion dollar infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity between the two countries through the construction of roads, railways, industrial zones, energy corridors, and other infrastructure. While much attention has been paid to the economic and geopolitical implications of CPEC, this article focuses on its cultural implications. Through an analysis of media coverage and a review of scholarly literature, this article examines how CPEC has affected cultural exchange, identity formation, and perceptions of China and Pakistan among their respective populations. It finds that CPEC has led to increased cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the two countries that lead to improved bilateral relations between the two long-lasting friendly nations, Pakistan and China. These findings have important implications for policymakers and suggest the need for a more nuanced approach to cultural diplomacy in the context of CPEC.

Objective: The study aims to ascertain the degree of felt stress among parents of cerebral palsy patients at HIT and POF Hospitals. Study Design: Cross-sectional. Setting: Department of Pediatrics, HIT & POF Hospitals. Period: February 2022 to May 2022. Material & Methods: The study was approved by IRB of HITEC-IMS under approval number HITEC-IRB-22-2021. Using the purposive sampling method, the study included CP children aged 3 to 10 and caregivers who had experienced stress for three consecutive months. The total score was determined using Sheldon Cohen's perceived stress scale. Scores between 0 and 13 were classified as low perceived stress, 14 to 26 as moderate, and 27 to 40 as high felt stress. Results: Children with the spastic form of CP made up 50% of the population, while those with the dyskinetic ataxic and mix types made up 16%, 8%, and 5% of the total. 66 percent of the children were under 5, 22 percent were between the ages of 6 and 10, and just 12 percent were under 3. With level 4 on the second, the GMFCS level of 3 was the most prevalent. The parents’ average age was 31±7.2. Respondents' average stress score was 18.03±8.8. Conclusion: Parents of CP children experience moderate to high levels of stress that are significantly influenced by the employment status of moms and family income. Parents must be stress-free in order to raise children with poor health.

The Afghan peace negotiations with the United States have established a unified forum for the country's future. Since the Soviet invasions and 9/11, the imbroglio and terrors attacks destabilize the Afghanistan area. Pakistan plays a key role in the resumption of the peace process. Pakistan has taken significant action to open the dialogue and invite the Taliban and the United States to the negotiating table in order to negotiate peace and stability. The Pakistani Foreign Ministry began working to reduce tension, and including Pakistan in a peace agreement would both enhance Pakistan's influence in the region and yield positive benefits as part of the peace talks process. Pakistan's efforts and dedication were important in facilitating the Two Plus Two peace talks, which had been impasses since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, as well as the US and China's roles as observers. In this paper, I will focus to illustrate Pakistan's role and to find out the critical assumption about the role of Pakistan in Afghan Peace Talks.

Over 68% of Pakistan's population lives in rural areas, and they primarily rely on agriculture to make a living. Pakistan's rural non-farm economy is diverse, encompassing a wide range of activities. The objective of the current study is to quantify the effect of rural non-farm activities on rural household's income in Punjab, Pakistan's district of Bahawalpur. For households with lower incomes, the non-farm market is one of their main sources of income. The study's respondents were chosen using a multistage sampling process. A standardized questionnaire was used to collect data throughout five stages. The findings demonstrate that non-farm activities increase the rural household's income and employment. The income of the household is positively and significantly influenced by education and experience. The results also shows that non-farm activities as well as non-farm participants augments rural income. From the policy prospective, it is recommended that in rural areas non-farm activities should be promoted.

Structural transformation is characterized by successful industrialization with continued growth in both manufacturing and service industry. It creates lot of job opportunities by exploring unexploited industries that leads to sustainable economic growth and higher standard of living. Industrialization requires systematic and strong coordination mechanism geared with committed leadership. Industrialization in Pakistan has been partially successful and faced with many challenges. In this regard, product space analysis was conducted to thoroughly assess Pakistan’s opportunity space and challenges for future industrialization. To this end, various priority sectors were identified given their compatibility and proximity with Pakistan’s production capacity and finally an appropriate industrial policy is recommended for future course of industrialization. This study is greatly helpful for government policy makers to formulate feasible industrial policies in accordance with the productive capability of Pakistan, for potential investors and entrepreneurs to venture into potentially viable business opportunities and for academics to better understand the dynamics of industrialization.

This research was designed to analyze the effect of resilience, depression, behavioural vs. emotional engagement and metacognitive awareness on the achievement motivation of university students. Past research has highlighted the predictive role of cognitive and mental capabilities on the academic achievement of students. A correlational research design was used for the study and 425 participants were selected through purposive sampling and had an almost similar gender distribution. Data collection was done through the Hamilton Depression Inventory, Metacognitive Awareness Scale, Brief Resilience Scale, Engagement Vs. Disaffection with Learning Questionnaire and achievement motivation scale. The results showed that female students exhibited higher scores on resilience, metacognitive awareness, behavioural and emotional engagement, and high orientation towards success and achievement in comparison to their male counterparts who scored high on depression and further showed poorer scores on resilience, metacognitive awareness, and behavioural and emotional engagement.

This study aimed to profile the phytochemicals present in Lawsonia inermis and Juglans regia leaf extracts and assess their in vitro antioxidant activity using three different assays. Phytochemical screening revealed the presence of carbohydrates, glycosides, triterpenes, flavonoids, saponins, and alkaloids in both plant extracts. These compounds are known to possess various pharmacological properties, including antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and anticancer activities. The in vitro antioxidant activity of the extracts was evaluated using the phosphomolybdenum, FeCl3 radical scavenging, and DPPH radical scavenging assays. The results showed that Lawsonia inermis extract had a higher total antioxidant capacity, as measured by the phosphomolybdenum assay, compared to Juglans regia extract. Similarly, it had a higher ability to prevent the formation of free radicals, as measured by the FeCl3 radical scavenging assay. Additionally, Lawsonia inermis extract exhibited a higher capacity to neutralize free radicals, as measured by the DPPH radical scavenging assay.
