Aceruloplasminemia is a rare autosomal recessive disorder of iron accumulation in the brain. It is one of the subtypes of Neurodegeneration with brain iron accumulation and is characterized by the uniform involvement of all basal ganglia, thalami, dentate nuclei, and cortex. Aceruloplasminemia is the only known iron overload disorder in which brain and systemic iron overload are combined. Here, we present a 53-year-old female who had progressive cognitive disorders with motor deficits. MRI showed extensive and abundant iron deposited in the brain and in the liver.

Central neurocytoma is a rare intraventricular tumor, occurring typically in the lateral ventricle of young adults. It is considered as a neuronal-glial benign tumor with favorable prognosis. Imaging is a cornerstone allowing the accurate preoperative diagnosis on the basis of several characteristic features. We report the case of a 31-year-old man who has been complaining of progressive headaches and in whom brain magnetic resonance imaging revealed a central neurocytoma. We remind then, through a literature review, the main criteria to set the diagnosis of this tumor and rule out the other possible diagnoses.

Our work is about a 28-year-old man, admitted to the emergency room for a head trauma. A cerebral CT was performed who shows a biconvex sub-tentorial extra-axial collection spontaneously hyperdense suggesting an extra dural hematoma of the posterior cerebral fossa. The surgical evacuation found that it was an acute subdural hematoma (ASDH) (A,B). The ASDH is a subdural blood collection, complicating venous more than arterial bleeding. with male predominance and an age between 20 and 40. Most commonly supra tentorial, Sub tentorial location is rare it represents less than 5%. The clinic associate alteration of consciousness, signs of focusing, vegetative manifestations and epilepsy. The diagnosis is based on a CT scan which shows an extra-axial hyperdense collection with more or less associated lesions. After medical management the treatment is surgical, based on the removal of the hematoma by suboccipital craniectomy.

Introduction: Deep brain stimulation (DBS) of the subthalamic nucleus (STN) is known as a therapy of choice of advanced Parkinson's disease. The present study aimed to assess the beneficial and side effects of STN DBS in Moroccan Parkinsonian patients. Material and Methods: Thirty five patients underwent bilateral STN DBS from 2008 to 2016 in the Rabat University Hospital. Patients were assessed preoperatively and followed up for 6 to 12 months using the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale in four conditions (stimulation OFF and ON and medication OFF and ON), the levodopa-equivalent daily dose (LEDD), dyskinesia and fluctuation scores and PDQ39 scale for quality of life (QOL). Postoperative side effects were also recorded. Results: The mean age at disease onset was 42.31 ± 7.29 years [28-58] and the mean age at surgery was 54.66 ± 8.51 years [34-70]. The median disease duration was 11.95 ± 4.28 years [5-22]. Sixty-three percentage of patients were male. 11.4% of patients were tremor dominant while 45.71 showed akinetic-rigid form and 42.90 were classified as mixed phenotype. The LEDD before surgery was 1200 mg/day [800-1500]. All patients had motor fluctuations whereas non-motor fluctuations were present in 61.80% of cases. STN DBS decreased the LEDD by 51.72%, as the mean LEDD post-surgery was 450 [188-800]. The UPDRS-III was improved by 52.27%, dyskinesia score by 66.70% and motor fluctuations by 50%, whereas QOL improved by 27.12%. Post-operative side effects were hypophonia (2 cases), infection (3 cases), and pneumocephalus (2 cases). Conclusion: Our results showed that STN DBS is an effective treatment in Moroccan Parkinsonian patients leading to a major improvement of the most disabling symptoms (dyskinesia, motor fluctuation) and a better QOL.

Tuberculosis of the uterine cervix is extremely rare. An awareness of sonographic findings is necessary when evaluating for cervical lesions because it can mimic other masses, especially cervical cancer. This is a case of hypertrophic tuberculosis of the uterine cervix presented with chronic leucorrhea. Initial diagnosis was made by endovaginal sonography and confirmed after biopsy.

Introduction Le cherubisme est une maladie osseuse kystique familiale rare et benigne de l’enfant, caracterisee par un facies specifique dit visage d’ange. Il atteint les os de la face, essentiellement la mandibule, quelquefois les maxillaires et de maniere exceptionnelle l’ensemble du squelette. L’imagerie permet de poser le diagnostic et de surveiller l’evolution. Observation Nous rapportons l’observation d’un enfant de 5 ans qui presente une tumefaction mandibulaire bilaterale. Le diagnostic de cherubisme a ete pose par les radiographies standards ( Fig. 1 ) et le scanner ( Fig. 2 ). La stabilisation des lesions a ete observee vers l’âge de 16 ans. Discussion Le cherubisme est une dystrophie mandibulo-maxillaire kystique multiloculaire respectant les condyles mandibulaires, avec possible retentissement orbitaire, a l’origine du facies d’ange avec regard portant vers le haut. L’imagerie joue un role primordial dans le diagnostic, notamment le scanner. La panoramique dentaire est demandee pour le bilan des anomalies dentaires associees et l’IRM permet de mieux analyser l’extension aux parties molles notamment orbitaires. Le diagnostic de certitude repose sur l’examen histologique. La prise en charge est controverse entre les auteurs qui pronent l’abstention therapeutique et ceux qui sont pour des interventions permettant la gestion des problemes fonctionnels et esthetiques. Dans notre cas elle a ete basee sur la surveillance clinico-radiologique, puisque la stabilisation a l’âge de la puberte est la regle. Conclusion Le cherubisme est une maladie osseuse kystique familiale rare et benigne de l’enfant. L’imagerie permet de poser le diagnostic et de surveiller l’evolution. Le diagnostic de certitude repose sur l’examen histologique. La meilleur prise en charge est la surveillance clinico-radiologique puisque la stabilisation a l’âge de la puberte est la regle.
