Amaç: Sunulan çalışma İvesi ırkı koyunlarda doğum zamanı alınan amniyon sıvısı içerisindeki bazı biyokimyasal ve hormonal belirteçlere bakarak ikiz ve tekiz gebelikler arasındaki metabolik ihtiyaç farkını araştırmak için yapıldı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmada toplam 30 adet İvesi ırkı koyun kullanıldı. Çalışmanın birinci grubunu (Grup 1, n=15); tek yavru taşıyan koyunlar, çalışmanın ikinci grubunu (Grup 2, n=15) ise; iki yavru taşıyan koyunlar oluşturdu. Her iki çalışma gruplarındaki koyunlardan; doğum zamanı vulva dudakları arasından sarkan amniyon kesesinin bütünlüğünü bozmadan steril enjektör ile 10 ml amniyon sıvısı alındı. Alınan amniyon sıvısından elektrolit (sodyum, potasyum, klor, kalsiyum, fosfor), total protein, glikoz, karaciğer (ALT ve AST), böbrek biyomarkerları (üre ve keratinin) ve kortizol düzeyleri ölçüldü. Blood samples were collected on the day of surgery from the patients’ veins into test tubes containing 5% EDTA as an anticoagulant. Platelets and serum were purified and with the application of an indirect ELISA-test, the level of dihydropyrimidinase-related protein 2 (DRP2) was evaluated in the platelets, while the level of natural anti-DRP2 autoantibodies was measured in the blood serum. Concomitantly, the level of DRP2 was estimated in the patients’ saliva sampled on the same day. The results showed upregulation of DRP2 in the platelets and natural anti-DRP2 autoantibodies in the serum of the patients. Evaluation of the level of the stress hormone cortisol in the patients’ blood serum revealed its upregulation. At the same time downregulation of DRP2 in the patients’ saliva was noticed. Based on the obtained data, we came to a conclusion that evaluation of DRP2 in the platelets, natural anti-DRP2 autoantibodies in the blood serum, and DRP2 in the saliva might serve as a valid indicator of excitation level in humans.

To explore the effects of forest therapy in the Kranjska Gora tourist destination, experimental research on 50 tourists was implemented. By designing and following a specific forest therapy protocol, the physiological stress markers and psychological effects on tourists were measured. The results provide clear evidence of positive effects and health benefits on tourists. Additionally, the forest therapy experience is presented through the tourists’ fit-back and perception. The research results could be very useful for destination management, tourist providers, and the development of a forest therapy tourism activities, as well as the well-being forest tourism.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, sıçanlarda yüksek doz aralıklarında oral uygulanan vitamin C takviyesine bağlı olarak vitamin C, kortizol ve leptinin kan düzeylerindeki değişiklikleri belirlemektir. Toplam 21 adet 6-9 aylık yaşta Wistar Albino türü dişi sıçan rastgele olarak grup başına 7 hayvan içerecek şekilde üç gruba ayrıldı. Birinci grup kontrol grubu iken, deney grupları şu şekilde düzenlenmiştir: Vitamin C (1000mg/kg CA grubu, oral yoldan), Vitamin C (3000mg/kg CA grubu, oral yoldan). On günlük toplam deney süresi sonunda kan örnekleri İntrakardiak olarak serum tüplerine alındı. Serumda vitamin C, kortizol ve leptin düzeyleri belirlendi. Sonuç olarak, oral olarak uygulanan yüksek doz vitamin C takviyesinin vücuttaki C vitamini havuzunu artırmanın etkili yolu olmadığı görüldü., The aim of this study was to determine the changes in the blood levels of vitamin C, cortisol, and leptin, depending on the vitamin C supplementation administered orally at high dose intervals in rats. A total of 21 female Wistar Albino rats aged 6-9 months were randomly divided into three groups, each group containing seven animals. The first group is the control group, and the experiment groups are Vitamin C (1000 mg/kg CA group, orally), Vitamin C (3000 mg/kg CA group, orally). At the end of the total experiment period of 10 days, blood samples were taken into the serum tube as intracardiac. Vitamin C, cortisol, and leptin levels were determined from serum. It was found that there was no difference between the groups in serum vitamin C, cortisol, and leptin levels in blood samples. As a result, it has been observed that high-dose vitamin C supplements administered orally are not an effective way to increase the vitamin C pool in the body.

This study was designed to demonstrate the effects of surgical skills of final-year veterinary medicine students relating to total surgery time and skin incision length on postoperative stress, oxidative stress and pain in bitches undergoing ovariohysterectomy under identical anaesthesia and surgical procedures. The control group (n=12) consisted of bitches that were operated on by an experienced surgeon, while the ovariohysterectomies in the experiment group (n=12) were performed by final-year veterinary medicine students. Blood samples were taken 24 hours before the surgery, during premedication, at the end of surgery and 30 minutes, 1, 2, 4 and 6 hours after surgery for the analysis of cortisol, total oxidant status (TOS), total antioxidant status (TAS) and for the calculation of the oxidative stress index (OSI). Systemic amyloidosis may affect many organs, and may cause endocrinologic problems which may result in adrenal insufficiency. However, assessment of adrenocortical reserve is challenging in amyloidosis patients with renal involvement. We aimed to evaluate adrenocortical reserve with various methods of cortisol measurement to determine any occult clinical condition.Patients with renal amyloidosis and healthy subjects were evaluated in this cross-sectional study. Basal cortisol, corticosteroid-binding globulin (CBG), and albumin levels were measured. Serum free cortisol (cFC) level was calculated. Cortisol response tests performed after ACTH stimulation test (250 μg, intravenously) were evaluated, and free cortisol index (FCI) was calculated.Twenty renal amyloidosis patients, and 25 healthy control subjects were included in the study. Patients and control subjects had similar median serum baseline cortisol levels [258 (126-423) vs 350 (314-391) nmol/L, p=0.169)] whereas patients' stimulated cortisol levels at the 60ACTH stimulation test and cortisol measurements should be considered in renal amyloidosis patients with severe proteinuria to avoid false positive results if only ACTH stimulation test is used. Serum serbest kortizol düzeyi hesaplandı. 250 mcg ACTH stimulasyon testi sonrası kortizol yanıt testleri değerlendirildi ve serbest kortizol indeksi (SKI) hesaplandı.Çalışmaya 20 amilodoz hastası ve 25 sağlıklı kontrol grubu dahil edildi. Uvod. Evocirani potencijali predstavljaju promene u električnoj aktivnosti nervnog sistema izazvane nekim stimulusom. Koriste se za dijagnozu patoloških lezija n. trigeminusa i za praćenje efikasnosti različitih tretmana trigeminalne neurlagije. Takođe su vredan istraživački alat za otkrivanje fundamentalnih aspekata senzorne fiziologije. Dokazani su efekti širokog spektra opioidnih i neopioidnih analgetika na komponente evociranih potencijala u eksperimentalnom modelu bola. Isto tako evocirani potencijali su korisno neurofiziološko sredstvo za proučavanje emocija povezanih sa bolom. Poznato je da endogeni faktori kao što su stepen uznemirenosti osobe, stres, značenje i značaj stimulusa takođe određuju evocirane potencijale. Veza kasnih komponenti evociranih potencijala sa senzacijom bola je samo indirektna i predstavlja odraz emocionalnih procesa izazvanih primarnom senzacijom bola. Stres je faktor koji izaziva i održava intenzitet bola. Psihološki stres može proizvesti efekte u različitim fiziološkim sistemima koji su slični onima nastalim fizičkim uzrokom zbog aktiviranja dva sistema stresnog odgovora: simpatiko-adrenomedularnog sistema i hipotalamo-hopofizno-adrenalne osovine. Hronično povišen nivo glukokortikoida ugrožava sinaptičku plastičnost i kogniciju, smanjuje neurogenezu i gustinu kičmene moždine, dovodi do morfolških oštećenja, kao npr. demijelinizacije i atrofije dendrita, kao i funkcionalnih poremećaja, tipa hipersenzitivnosti neurona. Bol je složeno iskustvo koje jednako podrazumeva nocicepciju kao i emocionalni i kognitivni aspekt koji mogu menjati njegovu percepciju. Bol nije jednostavna posledica aktivacije receptora za bol, već složen subjektivni doživljaj, na koga umnogome utiču psihološki, socijalni, emocionalni i mnogi spoljni faktori. Cilj istraživanja. Osnovni cilj istraživanja je da se registrovanjem evociranih potencijala nastalih stimulacijom zubne pulpe uoče promene u prenošenju nervnih signala kod ispitanika pod stresom i pacijenata sa trigeminalnom neuralgijom, kao i pod dejstvom analgetika, anksiolitika i placeba. Metod istraživanja. Istraživanje je sprovedeno na klinici za Oralnu hirurgiju Instituta za Stomatologiju Stomatološkog fakulteta u Pančevu, posle dobijanja saglasnosti Etičkog odbora ustanove. U istraživanju je učestvovalo 120 ispitanika, 59 muškog pola i 61 ženskog pola, podeljenih u šest grupa. Najveći deo uzorka formiran je od studenat, dobrovoljca, Stomatološkog fakuleta u Pančevu. Pacijenti sa trigeminalnom neuralgijom dobijeni su sa Neurološkog odeljenja Opšte bolnice Pančevo, kao i sa Klinike za Maksilofacijalnu hirurgiju Instituta za Stomatologiju Stomatološkog fakulteta u Pančevu. Grupa ispitanika pod stresom bila je formirana iz zdrave mlade populacije na osnovu rezultata Skale depresivnosti, anksioznosti i stresa. Nakon potpisivanja informisanog pristanka za učešće u istraživanju ispitanicima je uzeta anamneza i izvršen neurološki i stomatološki pregled, a zatim su sami popunjavali Skalu depresivnosti, anksioznosti i stresa, jedan od najpoznatijih instrumenata, konstruisan sa namerom da u sebi objedini procenu tri neprijatna emocionalna stanja: depresivnosti, anksioznosti i stresa. Pre otpočinjanja registrovanja evociranih potencijala svim ispitanicima je izmeren arterijski pritisak i puls i određen prag percepcije bola ispitivačem vitaliteta pulpe stimulacijom gornjih centralnih skutića strujom niskog intenziteta, koji će biti stimulisani i u cilju registrovanja evociranih potencijala. Posle postizanja praga percepcije bola ispitanici su davali subjektivan iskaz o jačini stimulusa na osnovu Wong-Bakerove vizuelno deskriptivne skale. Sve navedeno je ponovljeno i nakon registrovanja evociranih potencijala. Standardizovanje uslova i parametara stimulacije i registrovanja evociranih potencijala vršeno je na ispitanicima kontrolne grupe promenom jačine impulsa, perioda ponavljanja impulsa, broja usrednjenih uzoraka, pojačenja impulsa, propusne moći gornjeg filtera i dužine snimka. Na svakom ispitaniku je urađeno pet snimanja. Kod pacijenata sa neuralgijom trigeminalnog nerva snimanje je izvođeno na oba gornja centralna sekutića. Grupama ispitanika koje su dobijale Brufen, Bromazepam ili placebo dva puta je vršeno snimanje evociranih potencijala, prvi put pre primene leka, a drugi put 45 minuta nakon primene leka. Nivo salivarne α-amilaze određivan je upotrebom aparata Nipro Salivary Amylase Monitor. Pljuvačku za određivanje nivoa kortizola sakupljali smo pomoću Salivette vaterolni. Nakon centrifugiranja iz supernatanta je određivana koncentracija kortizola ELISA imunoesej testom-Eclia. Rezultati istraživanja. Dobijeni parametri stimulacije i registrovanja su: konstantna jačina struje od 1 mA, trajanje impulsa 1 ms, period ponavljanja impulsa 1 u sekundi, broj usrednjenih uzoraka 2, pojačanje impulsa 10 µV, propusna moć gornjeg filtera 70 Hz, propusna moć donjeg filtera 0,5 Hz, dužina snimka u trajanju od 300 ms. Određene su standardne vrednosti perioda latence i amplitude talasa evociranih potencijala: N60, P100, N145 i P195 za osobe muškog pola i N55, P95, N145 i P195 za osobe ženskog pola. Aim: Immaturity of epithelial sodium channels (ENaC), which are affected by adrenocorticotropin hormone (ACTH) and cortisol, is believed to be the major underlying cause of transient tachypnea of the newborn. The aim of this study is to investigate the differences in ACTH and cortisol levels and the expression of lung ENaC α subunit of the babies in relation to mode of delivery.Methods: The study was planned as prospective cohort study. Eighteen women who underwent elective caesarean section (C/S) and fifteen women who admitted to hospital for normal spontaneous delivery (NSD) and their term 33 newborn infants were included in the study. Blood samples for ACTH and cortisol levels were collected from the mothers prior to birth and the newborn infants 1 hour after birth. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect on plasma insulin and cortisol concentrations by feeding Chios ewes with a low energy ration in the late period of gestation. 38 Chios ewes were divided into three groups as pregnant normal energy (PNE), pregnant low energy (PLE) and non pregnant normal energy (N-PNE). Feeding with the treatment rations started on day 105 of the gestation and continued until lambing. Blood samples were obtained on days 120. 127. 134. 141. and 148. during gestation. Plasma insulin concentrations of ewes in the pregnant normal energy were significantly higher than those of the pregnant low energy on days 134 and 141. No significant difference was observed in plasma insulin concentration between pregnant normal energy ewes and non pregnant ewes. Plasma cortisol concentration of ewes in the pregnant low energy was lower on day 120 but higher on day 134 than those of ewes in the pregnant normal energy. As a conclusion an energy intake of greater than 10 MJ/kg ME should be assured for pregnant ewes in the late pregnancy, although energy level of 8.0 MJ/kg ME does not cause a serious energy deficiency., Araştırmanın amacı gebeliğin son dönemindeki enerji yetersizliğinin Sakız ırkı koyunlarda plazma insülin ve kortizol konsantrasyonlarını incelemektir. 38 adet Sakız ırkı koyun normal enerjili gebe grup, yetersiz enerjili gebe grup ve normal enerjili gebe olmayan grup olacak şekilde üç gruba ayrılmışlardır. Gebeliğin 105. gününden doğuma kadar bulundukları gruplara uygun bir şekilde beslenmeye başlanmışlardır. Kan numuneleri gebeliğin 120. 127. 134. 141. ve 148. günlerinde alınmıştır. Normal enerjili gebe koyunların 134. ve 141. günlerindeki plazma insülin konsantrasyonları, yetersiz enerjili gebe gruptakilere göre önemli oranda yüksek çıkmıştır. Normal enerjili gebe gruptaki koyunlar ile normal enerjili gebe olmayan gruptaki koyunların plazma insülin konsantrasyonları arasında bir fark bulunmamıştır. Yetersiz enerjili beslenen gebe koyunlar, normal enerjili beslenen gebelerden gebeliğin 120. gününde daha düşük, 134. gününde ise daha yüksek plazma kortizol konsantrasyonlarına sahip olmuşlardır. Sonuç olarak koyunlar gebeliğin son dönemlerinde 10 MJ/kg ME’den daha yüksek enerji içeren yemlerle beslenmelidir ve gebeliğin son dönemlerinde koyunların 8.0 MJ/kg ME ile beslenmesi ciddi bir enerji eksikliğine yol açmamıştır.

Different physical, physiological and psychological factors, known as stressors, affect the homeostasis of an organism. The stress system, located in the central nervous system as well as in peripheral organs, mediates the protective stress response. The three principal effector parts of the stress system are hypothalamic-pituitaryadrenocortical, adrenomedullary hormonal system and sympathetic nervous system. Their main respective mediators are cortisol, adrenaline and noradrenaline. The stress response is not the stereotyped one, but depends on the nature of the stressor. The analysis of data from human and animal experiments has shown much closer correlation between the plasma adrenaline and ACTH changes (as a measure of activity of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenocortical system) than between adrenaline and noradrenaline responses. While the defense against stressors is of vital importance, inappropriate stress responses, in the direction of deficiency or excess, have been related to a significant number of psychiatric and somatic complaints. It is hoped that at least some of these disorders may be better treated with the anticipated new generation of stress-modifying medications with a central mode of action, such are antagonists of corticotropin (ACTH) releasing hormone (CRH) from hypothalamus. The objective of this work was to examine whether concentrations of cortisol, insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) and immunoglobulin G class (IgG), in fact blood parameters which are believed to be of extreme importance in the postnatal survival of calves, are dependant on the body mass of calves at birth. Investigations were performed on 12 newborn calves of the Holstein-Friesian breed, placed into two groups on the grounds of their body mass at birth. The first group (n=6) comprised calves whose body mass was more than 35 kg at birth (41.67±3.08 kg), while the second group (n=6) comprised calves whose body mass at birth was less than 35 kg (32.00±3.58 kg). Blood samples were taken immediately preceding the consuming of colostrum, as well as at 32 hours of neonatal life. Cortisol and IGF-I concentrations were determined in blood serum samples taken immediately before colostrum consumption, while IgG concentration was determined in the samples taken 32 hours after the birth of the calves. The cortisol concentration in calves born with a greater body mass (61.51±32.78 nmol/l) was lower (p=0.052) than in calves born with a smaller body mass (94.89±17.74 nmol/l). A significant negative correlation (r= -0.592; p lt 0.05) was established between the body mass of calves at birth and the cortisol concentration. The IGF-I concentration determined immediately following birth in calves with a greater boy mass at birth (10.17±1.71 nmol/l) was statistically significantly higher (p lt 0.05) in comparison with calves born with a smaller body mass (7.04±1.15 nmol/l). There was a significant positive correlation (r = 0.519; p lt 0.10) between the body mass of calves at birth and the IGF-I concentration. Thirty-two hours following birth, the IgG concentration in blood serum of calves born with a bigger body mass (18.72±1.99 g/l) was significantly higher (p lt 0.05) than in calves born with a smaller body mass (11.68±4.79 g/l). A significant positive correlation was established between the body mass of calves at birth and the IgG concentration determined at 32 hours of neonatal life (r = 0.620; p lt 0.05). The obtained results point to the conclusion that calves of body mass over 35 kg at birth are better adapted to the conditions of the outer environment in comparison with calves born with a body mass of less than 35 kg. . Cilj ovog rada je da se ispita da li koncentracije kortizola, insulinusličnog faktora rasta-I (IGF-I) i imunoglobulina klase G (IgG), odnosno parametara krvi za koje se smatra da su izuzetno značajni za postnatalni opstanak teladi, zavise od telesne mase teladi na rođenju. Ispitivanja su izvršena na 12 novorođenih teladi Holštajn-Frizijske rase, razdvojenih u dve grupe na osnovu telesne mase na rođenju. Introduction: It is known fact from the literature data that acute and chronic stress influence serum cortisol level. As with serum cortisol, the level of cortisol in saliva is also a reliable marker of stress. Material and method: this study was performed on 25 individuals, females, age 40-50 years. The participants were exposed to long term stress, held two jobs of 8 working hours, six days a weak, domestic work was not included. All of them were high educated, and none of them were on other medication therapy Aim: The Aim of this study was to evaluate possible differences in cortisol levels in stimulated and non stimulated saliva and serum and determine their association with long term stress. Results: Obtained results showed that cortisol level in saliva do not depend on saliva flow rate and increases in the afternoon period in individuals exposed to chronic stress. Correlation (r) between salivary cortisol and plasma cortisol is r= 0.91. Non-invasive sampling procedure suggests that saliva may be used for cortisol measurements in situations where blood sampling is difficult to perform., Uvod: U literaturi je poznato da akutni i hronični stres menjaju nivo kortizola u krvi. Kao i u plazmi, nivo kortizola u salivi je pouzdan stres marker. Cilj: Cilj ovog rada je bio da se odredi moguća koncentracija razlika kortizola u stimulisanoj i ne stimulisanoj salivi i plazmi kod osoba izloženih hroničnom stresu i utvrdi njihova međusobna zavisnost. Subjekti i metode: U ispitivanje je uključeno 25 ispitanica ženskog pola, starosti 40 godina izloženih hroničnom stresu tokom poslednjih pet godina. Uzimani su uzorci nestimulisane i stimulisane pljuvačke i uzorci plazme u sredini radne nedelje i na polovini radnog vremena, a koncentracija kortizola je određivana ELISA - imunoeseo testom - Eclia.
