본 연구는 그림책의 포스트휴먼 인물에 대해 유아들의 반응이 어떠한지 살펴보는데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 P시 P어린이집 만 5세 유아 9명이며, 2018년 3월 21일부터 2018년 5월 30일까지 포스트휴먼 그림책 14권을 읽어주고 유아들의 반응을 자료로 수집하였다. 연구결과 그림책의 포스트휴먼 인물에 대해 유아들은 첫째, 경계와 생성의 존재로 인식하였다. 둘째, 탈경계적 시간과 공간의 의미를 불어 넣었다. 셋째, 이질적인 것에 대한 거부로 다시 경계를 만들었다. 넷째, 역동적인 포스트휴먼 되기를 즐겼다. 본 연구결과를 통해 유아들의 그림책 인물에 대한 포스트휴먼적인 재해석과 새로운 그림책 인물 읽기를 보여주었다. 그리고 유아들은 경계를 가로지르며 무엇이든 ‘될 수 있는’ 자유로움과 변화의 가능성, 무한한 잠재성을 지니고 있음을 알 수 있었으며, 유아들을 바라보는 관점을 더욱 새롭게 하였다. 포스트휴먼 시대 유아문학교육을 통해 유아들에게 더욱 풍부한 문학적 경험을 이끌어 포스트휴먼적 감수성과 역량을 키워나가는데 도움이 될 수 있을 것이다.

본 연구는 1950년대 북한 사회가 평화를 상상하고 발화하는 데 어떤 다양한 담론들이 존재했는가, 특히 모순적인 논리들이 ‘평화’의 이름으로 공존했던 담론의 복수성을 사회주의 문화 건설을 담당한 작가, 문예 인텔리들의 텍스트를 통해 탐색한다. 이를 통해 본 연구는 단일한 위로부터의 논의나 실천에 귀결되지 않는, 1950년대 북한 사회의 복합적인 ‘평화의 마음’에 다가가고자 한다. 1950년대 북한의 ‘평화의 마음’이 갖는 다양성을 조명하면서 본 연구는 북한 문예계의 평화 담론/실천이 어떤 국제적 소통, 교류의 문맥속에서 ‘마음체계’의 일부를 형성했는가에 초점을 맞춘다. 본 연구는 크게 두 갈래의 평화 재현을 보이고, 서로 다른 결의 재현과 관련된 행위자적 측면, 즉 문예 인텔리의 조직적 변화도 다룰 것이다. 1950년대 평화 주제를 둘러싼 문학적 재현 및 문학계의 조직에 대한 규명은 전후 사회주의 체제형성기 북한 사회의 다양한 대안적 논리의 역학관계를 드러냄으로써 북한의 ‘평화의 마음’이 어떻게 구성되었는지 이해하고, 궁극적으로 남북한 ‘마음체계’ 통합을 필요로 할 한반도 평화의 현재적 탐색에 통찰을 제공할 것이다.

The release of concentrated acid solutions by chemical accidents is disastrous to our environmental integrity. Alkaline agents applied to remedy the acid spill catastrophe may lead to secondary damages such as vaporization or spread out of the fumes unless substantial amount of neutralization heat is properly controlled. Using a rigorous thermodynamic formalism proposed by Pitzer to account short-range ion interactions and various subsidiary reactions, we develop a systematic computational model enabling quantitative prediction of reaction heat and the temperature change over neutralization of strongly concentrated acid solutions. We apply this model to four acid solutions (HCl, HNO 3 , H 2 SO 4 , and HF) of each 3 M-equivalent concentration with two neutralizing agents of calcium hydroxide ( Ca ( OH ) 2 ) and sodium bicarbonate ( NaHCO 3 ). Predicted reaction heat and temperature are remarkably consistent with the outcomes measured by our own experiments, showing a linear correlation factor R 2 greater than 0.98. We apply the model to extremely concentrated acid solutions as high as 50 wt% where an experimental approach is practically restricted. In contrast to the extremely exothermic Ca ( OH ) 2 agent, NaHCO 3 even lowers solution temperatures after neutralization reactions. Our model enables us to identify a promising neutralizer NaHCO 3 for effectively controlling concentrated acid spills and may be useful for establishment of proper strategy for other chemical accidents.

Objectives: The Movember Foundation launched the Global Action Plan Prostate Cancer Active Surveillance (GAP3) initiative to create a global consensus on the selection and monitoring of men with low-risk prostate cancer (PCa) on active surveillance (AS). The aim of this study is to present data on inclusion and follow-up for AS in this unique global AS database. Patients and Methods: Between 2014 and 2016, the database was created by combining patient data from 25 established AS cohorts worldwide (USA, Canada, Australasia, UK and Europe). Data on a total of 15 101 patients were included. Descriptive statistics were used to report patients' clinical and demographic characteristics at the time of PCa diagnosis, clinical follow-up, discontinuation of AS and subsequent treatment. Cumulative incidence curves were used to report discontinuation rates over time. Results: At diagnosis, the median (interquartile range [IQR]) patient age was 65 (60–70) years and the median prostate-specific antigen level was 5.4 (4.0–7.3) ng/mL. Most patients had clinical stage T1 disease (71.8%), a biopsy Gleason score of 6 (88.8%) and one tumour-positive biopsy core (60.3%). Patients on AS had a median follow-up time of 2.2 (1.0–5.0) years. After 5, 10 and 15 years of follow-up, respectively, 58%, 39% and 23% of patients were still on AS. The current version of GAP3 has limited data on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), quality of life and genomic testing. Conclusions: GAP3 is the largest worldwide collaboration integrating patient data from men with PCa on AS. The results will allow individual patients and clinicians to have greater confidence in the personalized decision to either delay or proceed with active treatment. Longer follow-up and the evaluation of MRI, new genomic markers and patient-related outcomes will result in even more valuable data and eventually in better patient outcomes.
