The existence of giant karst cave can cause collapse and water inrush hazards during the excavation of the karst tunnel, causing serious economic losses. In this paper, based on the FEA software MIDAS, a numerical simulation model for the backfilling of a large karst cave through a large cross-section tunnel was established. The distribution characteristics and change rules of the displacement field, stress field, horizontal support stress, and plastic zone of the tunnel surrounding rock and backfill were explored. The first stage of tunnel excavation leads to a sharp increase in the displacement of the tunnel’s surrounding rock and the deterioration of the plastic zone, which should be strengthened and monitored. The tunnel arch, waist, and wall footing areas were prone to stress concentration. The two layers of horizontal support force show a certain regularity, showing a sharp increase and a gradually smooth growth trend. Meanwhile, the site monitoring results for arch settlement and horizontal convergence of the mega cavern tunnel were analyzed. The results show that the numerical calculation results were in good agreement with the values of site monitoring data. The average errors of final crown settlement and horizontal convergence were 8.6% and 15.9%, respectively, which verified the correctness of the numerical modeling method. This project can provide reliable experience for the construction of similar large cavern tunnels.

The aim of this study was to explore whether indoor or outdoor relative humidity (RH) modulates the influenza epidemic transmission in temperate and subtropical climates.In this study, the daily temperature and RH in 1558 households from March 2017 to January 2019 in five cities across both temperate and subtropical regions in China were collected. City-level outdoor temperature and RH from 2013 to 2019 were collected from the weather stations. We first estimated the effective reproduction number (RIndoor RH displayed a seasonal pattern, with highs during the summer months and lows during the winter months, whereas outdoor RH fluctuated with no consistent pattern in subtropical regions. The RThe findings indicated that indoor RH may be the driver of influenza seasonality in both temperate and subtropical locations in China.

Around 75% of ES arise in the head or neck, which makes them unsightly. ES is common in patients with amyloidosis, diabetes, and Down’s syndrome, suggesting that it may be associated with potential systemic effects. ES is a rare tumor with the unclear pathogenesis and no effective treatment.Methods: A PubMed search of ES was conducted. Plasma samples of patients with ES were acquired from the Department of Dermatology at Xi’an Jiaotong University’s Second Affiliated Hospital. After removing highly abundant proteins, plasma samples were subjected to proteomics and metabolomics analysis using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).Results: LC-MS/MS revealed 71 differentially expressed proteins and 18 differentially abundant metabolites. The functional analysis highlighted the importance of complement binding, coagulation, secretory granules and vesicle lumen. Further, the study revealed 15 hub genes associated with FGG, GC, APOE, FGA, FGB, C4A, C3, CRP, C4B, FLNA, TAGLN2, ANXA5, MYL6, MYL12B, and TLN1 organized into three clusters. The seed genes in each cluster were GC, FLNA, and MYL6. In addition, glycol metabolism was associated with variable abundance of serum metabolites, which explains the relatively high rate of ES among diabetics.Conclusion: This study suggests that immunological inflammation and tumor glycol metabolism may play significant role in the pathophysiology of ES.Keywords: eruptive syringomas, proteomics and metabolomics analysis, complement and coagulation cascades, glycol-metabolism

The bar pattern speed is arguably the most important parametergoverning barred disc galaxies. The only direct method to measurepattern speeds was proposed by Tremaine and Weinberg (1984) andutilises the brightness and kinematics of a tracer population alongslits, with multiple methodological refinements proposedthereafter. Here, we presentan application of the Tremaine-Weinberg(TW) method to a sample of 174 Mapping Nearby Galaxies at APO (MaNGA)barred galaxies, including both early and late types. We carry outmeasurements using both stellar and ionised-gas kinematics, andimplement incremental refinements aiming to self-diagnose thereliability of the measurements and quantify uncertainties. We makefour different TW measurements for both the stars and gas. All fourmeasurements are consistent with each other except one, with differences smallerthan 5%. The pattern speeds measured from the ionised gas (Halphaemission) are somewhat higher, and have larger systematic errors, thanthose measured from the stars, presumably because Halpha violates thecontinuity assumption. We discuss potential sources of systematicerrors at length, particularly those that are MaNGA- and/orintegral-field spectroscopy-related. We also investigate correlationsbetween the bar pattern speeds and galaxy properties. Pattern speedsdecrease with increasing bar lengths and are larger in earlier-typegalaxies, while there is no clear dependence on bar strength, galaxymass, and Sersic index.

Studies have shown that TEA domain transcription factor 1 (TEAD1) is discovered to be involved in the pathogenesis of some human cancers, but to our knowledge its role in cSCC has not been reported.Patients and Methods: Samples from 16 cSCC patients and 27 healthy individuals were obtained for immunohistochemical staining of TEAD1. The expressions of TEAD1 in SCL-1, HSC-1 cells compared with the primary neonatal human epithelial keratinocytes were detected by Western blot and RT-qPCR. Proliferation and cell cycle of TEAD1 knockdown in cSCC cell lines were examined by MTT and flow cytometry analysis. Annexin V/PI and JC-1 staining were used to determine the cell apoptosis.Results: The expression of TEAD1 decreased significantly in cSCC compared to its expression in normal skin tissues and cell lines. Down-regulation of TEAD1 in cSCC cell lines promoted cell growth via regulation of the G2/M progression. Additionally, silence of TEAD1 also protected cells against 5-Fluorouracil-induced apoptosis and decreased the expression of apoptosis-related protein (p53).Conclusion: Our results suggested that TEAD1 expression is down-regulated and functioned as a tumor suppressor in cSCC and that it may serve as a biomarker or therapeutic target of cSCC.Keywords: TEAD1, cutaneous squamous cell carcinomas, proliferation, apoptosis, p53

Eruptive syringomas is a rare variant of syringoma, which is a benign adenoma differentiated from the terminal ducts of the eccrine glands. Nowadays, it's widely valued because of obvious skin lesions, large scope of influence, and high misdiagnosis rate.We aim to explore the clinical features of eruptive syringomas and the current research progress.We firstly summarized the clinical features of 90 cases of eruptive syringomas. Then, the chi-square test was used to analyze the relationship between the onset site of eruptive syringomas and age, as well as gender. Finally, we briefly reviewed the previous literature.During 12 years, 90 cases of eruptive syringomas were diagnosed in our hospital, including 28 males (31.1%) and 62 females (68.9%). The average diagnosed age was 28.8. Patients from 20 to 40 years old is 63 (70%), which is the most. 60 (66.7%) patients had the course for more than 1 year. Among onset sites, the neck, chest, and abdomen were in the top three. The chi-square test showed that there were no significant differences in the onset sites of patients aged ≤ 20 and20 years old (p-value = 0.181), as well as male and female (p-value = 0.363).We found that more female than male was affected, and the most common onset sites were the neck, chest, and abdomen. Neither age nor gender was significantly associated with onset site distribution. Our study provides some data support for the research of eruptive syringomas.

Past studies of the relation between teacher-student relationship (TSR) and students’ academic achievement (SAA) yielded mixed results, so this study determined the overall link between TSR and SAA, along with their moderators. This three-level meta-analysis of 90 independent effect sizes in 74 empirical studies of 233,961 students showed an overall positive link between TSR and SAA in China ( r = .259, 95% CI = [.227; .290]). This relationship was higher in: (a) China's central region (.305) than its eastern (.238) or western regions (.166); (b) senior high school (.345), followed by junior high school (.251), then primary school (.221); (c) English (.302), followed by math (.272), Chinese (.269), and science (.202); and (d) females (B = .507) than males. These results suggest the value of improving teacher-student relationships in policies and practices.

With the rapid development of China’s economy, people are eager for an effective way to relieve work pressure and strengthen their health at the same time. Outdoor sport is one of the best choices for people. However, the amount of recommended data on the network is very large. As a result, when people understand outdoor sports through the network, they cannot effectively obtain the information they want. This is the problem of “information overload,” and personalized recommendation system can effectively alleviate this problem. In order to effectively recommend outdoor sports to users, a useful attempt was made in the personalized recommendation system for outdoor sports in this paper. The specific work of this paper is as follows: firstly, the current situation of outdoor sports in China was summarized, and the related technologies of the recommendation system were studied, including user modeling technology, recommendation target modeling technology, and recommendation algorithm. In order to obtain better recommendation effect, this paper proposes to mix user-based collaborative filtering recommendation algorithm, project-based collaborative filtering recommendation algorithm, and content-based recommendation algorithm. The hybrid algorithm adopts the way of feature expansion and weighted combination. Firstly, the hybrid model (model 1) of user-based collaborative filtering recommendation and content-based recommendation is obtained. Secondly, the hybrid model (model 2) based on project collaborative filtering recommendation and content-based recommendation was obtained. Finally, model 1 and model 2 were combined together to get a hybrid model with better final recommendation effect. For the common cold start problem in the recommendation system, the system adopts content-based recommendation algorithm to solve it.

The coexistence of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and seasonal influenza epidemics has become a potential threat to human health, particularly in China in the oncoming season. However, with the relaxation of nonpharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) during the COVID-19 pandemic, the rebound extent of the influenza activities is still poorly understood. In this study, we constructed a susceptible–vaccinated–infectious–recovered–susceptible (SVIRS) model to simulate influenza transmission and calibrated it using influenza surveillance data from 2018 to 2022. We projected the influenza transmission over the next 3 years using the SVIRS model. We observed that, in epidemiological year 2021–2022, the reproduction numbers of influenza in southern and northern China were reduced by 64.0 and 34.5%, respectively, compared with those before the pandemic. The percentage of people susceptible to influenza virus increased by 138.6 and 57.3% in southern and northern China by October 1, 2022, respectively. After relaxing NPIs, the potential accumulation of susceptibility to influenza infection may lead to a large-scale influenza outbreak in the year 2022–2023, the scale of which may be affected by the intensity of the NPIs. And later relaxation of NPIs in the year 2023 would not lead to much larger rebound of influenza activities in the year 2023–2024. To control the influenza epidemic to the prepandemic level after relaxing NPIs, the influenza vaccination rates in southern and northern China should increase to 53.8 and 33.8%, respectively. Vaccination for influenza should be advocated to reduce the potential reemergence of the influenza epidemic in the next few years.

Realizing real-time monitoring of physiological signals is vital for preventing and treating chronic diseases in elderly individuals. However, wearable sensors with low power consumption and high sensitivity to both weak physiological signals and large mechanical stimuli remain challenges. Here, a flexible triboelectric patch (FTEP) based on porous-reinforcement microstructures for remote health monitoring has been reported. The porous-reinforcement microstructure is constructed by the self-assembly of silicone rubber adhering to the porous framework of the PU sponge. The mechanical properties of the FTEP can be regulated by the concentrations of silicone rubber dilution. For pressure sensing, its sensitivity can be effectively improved fivefold compared to the device with a solid dielectric layer, reaching 5.93 kPa−1 under a pressure range of 0–5 kPa. In addition, the FTEP has a wide detection range up to 50 kPa with a sensitivity of 0.21 kPa−1. The porous microstructure makes the FTEP ultra-sensitive to external pressure, and the reinforcements endow the device with a greater deformation limit in a wide detection range. Finally, a novel concept of the wearable Internet of Healthcare (IoH) system for real-time physiological signal monitoring has been proposed, which could provide real-time physiological information for ambulatory personalized healthcare monitoring.

This meta-analysis determined game-based learning’s (GBL) overall effect on students’ computational thinking (CT) and tested for moderators, using 28 effect sizes from 24 studies of 2,134 participants. The random effects model results showed that GBL had a significant positive overall effect on students’ CT (g = 0.677, 95% confidence interval 0.532–0.821) with significant heterogeneity among effect sizes. Among game types, role-playing yielded the largest GBL effect size, followed by action, puzzles, and adventures. Moreover, the effect of GBL on CT was weaker among students in countries that were more individualistic than others. Lastly, interventions between four hours and one week showed the largest GBL effect size, followed by those over four weeks, up to four hours, and between one week and four weeks.

As part of our low-cost sensor network, we colocated multipollutant monitors containing sensors for particulate matter, carbon monoxide, ozone, nitrogen dioxide, and nitrogen monoxide at a reference field site in Baltimore, MD, for 1 year. The first 6 months were used for training multiple regression models, and the second 6 months were used to evaluate the models. The models produced accurate hourly concentrations for all sensors except ozone, which likely requires nonlinear methods to capture peak summer concentrations. The models for all five pollutants produced high Pearson correlation coefficients (r > 0.85), and the hourly averaged calibrated sensor and reference concentrations from the evaluation period were within 3–12%. Each sensor required a distinct set of predictors to achieve the lowest possible root-mean-square error (RMSE). All five sensors responded to environmental factors, and three sensors exhibited cross-sensitives to another air pollutant. We compared the RMSE from models (NO(2), O(3), and NO) that used colocated regulatory instruments and colocated sensors as predictors to address the cross-sensitivities to another gas, and the corresponding model RMSEs for the three gas models were all within 0.5 ppb. This indicates that low-cost sensor networks can yield useable data if the monitoring package is designed to comeasure key predictors. This is key for the utilization of low-cost sensors by diverse audiences since this does not require continual access to regulatory grade instruments.

Because of the fading immunity to COVID-19 and continuous evolution of the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variants, the next epidemic wave of COVID-19 is inevitable. The Omicron variant has been the cause of several waves of the COVID-19 epidemics in the majority of countries. Thus, lessons from other countries may provide guidance regarding the timing and magnitude of the next COVID-19 wave of the pandemic in China. In this study, the COVID-19 surveillance data from 189 countries that experienced two or more waves of the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant were analysed. The median peak timing between the first and second/third waves of the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant was 164/243 days. The peaks of the second and third waves were much lower than that of the first wave. The median relative peaks of the second and third compared with the first waves were 14.5% and 11.2%, respectively. The time window between the peak timings of the first and second waves showed no significant rank correlation with the five socioeconomic factors included in this study. Background Increasing evidence indicates that psoriasis (PSO) and periodontitis (PD) are likely to occur together, however, the underlying mechanism remains unclear. Materials and methods The expression profiles of PSO (lesion vs non-lesion, GSE30999, GSE14905) and PD (affected vs unaffected gingival tissue, GSE16134, GSE10334) were downloaded from the GEO database. First, we investigated the common differentially expressed genes (DEGs) of PSO and PD. Then, GO and KEGG enrichment analysis, protein interaction network (PPI) construction, and hub gene identification analysis were carried out. Finally, GO and KEGG enrichment analysis, miRNA interaction analysis, and transcription factors (TFs) interaction analysis for hub genes were performed. Results Eighteen DEGs were identified for further analysis, including 15 up-regulated genes and 3 down-regulated genes. 9 hub genes were then identified via Cytohubba, including IL1B, CXCL1, CXCL8, MMP12, CCL18, SELL, CXCL13, FCGR3B, and SELE. Their functions are mainly enriched in two aspects: neutrophil chemotaxis and migration, chemokine activation and interaction. The enriched signaling pathways includes three categories: host defense, inflammation-related signaling pathways, and disease-related pathways. 9 common miRNAs based on experimental evidence and 10 common TFs were further identified in both PSO and PD. Conclusion Our study revealed possible comorbidity mechanisms in PSO and PD from the perspective of bioinformatics tentatively. The data can present new insight for joint prevention and treatment of in PSO and PD, as well as provide data support for further prospective studies.

Objective Due to inconsistency in neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) response in advanced gastric cancer (GC), the indications remain the source of controversy. This study focused on identifying factors related to NACT chemosensitivity and providing the best treatment for GC cases. Methods Clinical data in 867 GC cases treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy were downloaded from two medical centers between January 2014 and December 2020, and analyzed by logistic regression and the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) for identifying potential factors that predicted NACT response and might be incorporated in constructing the prediction nomogram. Results After the inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied, totally 460 cases were enrolled, among which, 307 were males (66.74%) whereas 153 were females (33.26%), with the age of 24–77 (average, 59.37 ± 10.60) years. Consistent with RECIST standard, 242 patients were classified into effective group (PR or CR) while 218 were into ineffective group (PD or SD), with the effective rate of 52.61%. In training set, LASSO and logistic regression analysis showed that five risk factors were significantly associated with NACT effectiveness, including tumor location, Smoking history, T and N stages, and differentiation. In terms of our prediction model, its C-index was 0.842. Moreover, calibration curve showed that the model-predicted results were in good consistence with actual results. Validation based on internal and external validation sets exhibited consistency between training set results and ours. Conclusions This study identified five risk factors which were significantly associated with NACT response, including smoking history, clinical T stage, clinical N stage, tumor location and differentiation. The prediction model that exhibited satisfying ability to predict NACT effectiveness was constructed, which may be adopted for identifying the best therapeutic strategy for advanced GC by gastrointestinal surgeons.

The art of communication beyond speech there are gestures. The automatic co-speech gesture generation draws much attention in computer animation. It is a challenging task due to the diversity of gestures and the difficulty of matching the rhythm and semantics of the gesture to the corresponding speech. To address these problems, we present DiffuseStyleGesture, a diffusion model based speech-driven gesture generation approach. It generates high-quality, speech-matched, stylized, and diverse co-speech gestures based on given speeches of arbitrary length. Specifically, we introduce cross-local attention and self-attention to the gesture diffusion pipeline to generate better speech matched and realistic gestures. We then train our model with classifier-free guidance to control the gesture style by interpolation or extrapolation. Additionally, we improve the diversity of generated gestures with different initial gestures and noise. Extensive experiments show that our method outperforms recent approaches on speech-driven gesture generation. Chromosomal translocations involving the mixed-lineage leukemia (MLL, KMT2A, MLL1) genes result in the production of MLL fusion proteins, which cause abnormal transcriptional regulation leading to acute leukemia (AL). Menin (MEN1) protein is essential for MLL to regulate the expression of related target genes. High-affinity interactions between the amino terminus of MLL proteins and Menin proteins are required to mediate the oncogenic transformation of MLL fusion proteins. Therefore, inhibition of Menin and MLL interaction is a potential therapeutic strategy for MLL rearrangement (MLL-r) leukemia and can provide a new choice for treatment of other diseases. Therefore, researchers have made great efforts to explore small-molecule Menin-MLL interaction inhibitors.This review is to provide an overview of the patented Menin-MLL protein-protein interaction inhibitors from 2014 to 2021.Menin-MLL interaction inhibitors have therapeutic potential in the treatment of acute leukemia, such as AML and ALL. SNDX-5613 and KO-539 have been granted orphan drug designation by the FDA for treatment of refractory/relapsed leukemia and AML, respectively. In addition, they are undergoing clinical evaluation for other indications. It is clear that Menin-MLL interaction inhibitors have promising benefits in the clinical treatment of leukemia and other diseases.
