This article analyzes the Minimalism in the social life of Sarıkeçili Nomads under the influence of Western society, which is popular as a Minimalist lifestyle. It also emphasizes the relationship of Sarıkeçili Nomads, who live in the southern regions of Turkey, with the philosophy of Minimalism. Sarıkeçili Nomads have adopted a simple lifestyle as a nomadic community for centuries, making principles such as simplicity and functionality the basic elements of their daily lives. The nomadic lifestyle they have chosen can be passed on to future generations by ensuring the continuity of traditions, customs, and culture. In this article, the aim is to prepare a short documentary film and create documentation by recording the lifestyle and culture of Sarıkeçili Nomads, reinterpreting it according to today's documentary elements. Initially, a literature review was conducted, and the regions where Sarıkeçilis live were determined. Then, the necessary equipment, team, and resources were provided, and fieldwork commenced. Documentary filming was conducted, and simultaneously, fieldwork was carried out to observe the life and cultural style in the regions where Sarıkeçili Nomads reside. The article aims to visually convey the life of Sarıkeçili Nomads and the philosophy of Minimalism to the audience, illustrating their beauty. y combining the power of visual expression with literary content, it attempts to reveal how Minimalism can be realized in harmony with natural life, offering deep meaning and peace to individuals. Collective memory is a way of remembering that makes it possible for society or groups to have a common identity by bridging the past and the future. Pierre Bourdieu's practical theory also allows discussion of the continuity of collective memory in the context of the structure-action relationship. In this context, the aim of the study is to reveal that social agents are effective in the reproduction of memory. This is done by associating the construction of collective memory with Pierre Bourdieu's conceptualization of space, habitus and capital in the sample of the city of Ankara, which represents the founding ideology of the Republic of Turkey. In line with the purpose of the study, the documentary film named "Ankara Ambiance", which was broadcast on Blu TV, a digital platform, was chosen as a sample. The "What Matters to Heart and Love" episode, which was broadcast as the first episode of the documentary, was analyzed using the content analysis method. As a result of the study, it has been evaluated that collective memory is reproduced in the form of space with administrative, political and ideological perspectives. The idea is that the founding leader is a common value which is effective in the reproduction of space in the form of collective memory and is closely related to the social space of individuals and the types of capital they have. During the wars, directly targeting the cities and their values, not only to harm the city dwellers but also to erase the urban memory is considered as an extension of genocide and this is called urbicide. Urbicide was used for the first time to describe the events that took place during the Bosnia and Herzegovina War (1992-2015). Many documentaries about the war have been shot and some of them have been described the events as genocide. This study evaluates the emphasis on the existence and dimensions of urbicide in the documentaries by using the content analysis method. In this context, 12 documentary films which are shot in English and Turkish languages were examined. The spatial, ethnic and religious constituents were analyzed through the audio and visual images that shown in the films were dealt in the study. It has been found that there are differences in the way the subject is handled and conveyed between Turkish-made documentary films and the others. In addition, although in most of the documentaries, urbicide is narrated, it was seen that the concept of genocide takes place more frequently in documentary films. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this study to transfer the elements of folk culture on film, Derin Kökler documentary, taken as examples. The review, features of Derin Kökler documentary such as content and what is the structural aspects and differences than other documentary. The review concluded as analyzing the data which collecting by an interview with documentary director and monitoring the documentary sections. In addition, the parts of documentary were classified according to their subjects and the general characteristics of parts were explanied.This classification methodology is made according to the topics in which described as 'Halkbilimi Kadroları' in the book of Sedat Veyis Örnek named "Turkish Folklore". Notions of documentary and ethnographic film movement examination, where the stops will be announced in the Derin Kökler oriented works of folk culture. Identification of the documentary: Derin Kökler: The construction started in 2004, directed by Alper Tunga Özdemir published at TRT sections and a total of five minutes of a documentary film series consisting of 350 chapters. This lasted for about four years the process of shooting a documentary film series, and shots were completed in 2007. The most important feature of the subject within five minute documentary which presents the viewer from beginning to end the tradition. There are substantially transferred to new generations in the documentary, an aesthetic structure. This situation is not only important for the protection of the recognized elements of folk culture. According to this study, Derin Kökler documentary study of folk culture, folk culture, protection, recognition of future generations and researchers have an important place in terms of being the source. ÖZ: Mevcut dünya algımız geçmiş deneyimlerimizle sıkı bir bağlantı içindedir ve bellek bugünkü yaşantımızı şekillendirmede etkileyici bir güçtür. Yaşanmış, yaşanmakta ve yaşanacak olanın anlamlandırılması önemlidir. Bellek, kimliğin tamamlayıcısıdır. Bellek kavramı ile belgesel sinema iç içe geçmiş kavramlardır. Bellek bir deneyimin bilinç düzeyine çıkışını temsil ederken, belgesel sinema bu konuda belleğe yardımcı olmaktadır. Toplumsal ilişkiler içinde „ötekiler‟ nedeniyle sürekli yeniden kurulan kimlik, sinema sanatıyla sürgün/göç olgusu arasında yakından bir bağ da oluşturmaktadır. Bir metafor ya da bir kavram olarak sürgün figürüne ait yaşanan „kayıp‟ daima bir bellek kaybı sorununu da içerir. Zaman geçer ve belleğimiz bize, olup bitenler hakkında sadece belirsiz bir fikir verebilir. Anıların yeniden canlandırılmasıyla, tanıdık olanla tekinsiz olan arasında yaşanan deneyim, ruhsal olan ile sosyal olan arasındaki bağı kurmanın olanaklarını sunar. Kuşaklararası bir aktarım aracı olan bellek ve dolayımlı güncel ritüeli olarak sinemanın izini sürenler; işte bu yolculukta, sürgünün/yokluğun/kaybın deneyimi ile karşılaşırlar. Bir „düşgücü fabrikası‟ olarak sinema ve bellek temalarını ele alan çeşitli görüşleri Winnicott‟yen bir bütünleştiricilik ekseninde ele alan bu tartışma ve çalışmada; bellek, görsellik ile zaman ve mekandan „sürgün‟ edilenin belgelenmesi meselesinin temel dinamikleri incelenmiştir. --------------------ABSTRACT: Perception of the world is strictly related with past experiences and the memory is the main power to give form on our lives. İnterpretations and to give a meaning for the past, hereandnow and the future are important. Memory is complementary for the identity. Memory and documentary cinema are intertwined terms. When memory represents conciousness of an experience, documentary cinema supports the memory about this consciousness. Identity continuously reconstructed with the effect of „the others‟ among the social relations can also create a bound between exile/immigrant case and art of cinema. It always contains problem with loss of memory as a result of loss of the figure „exile‟ as a metaphore or a term. Time passes and our memory can only give us an uncertain idea. Experience takes place inbetween familiar to uncanny with the reanimated memories, lead to connection possibilities for psychic and social. People who follows the prints of memory, as a transgenerational apparatus, here is the cınema in front of them, as an indirect daily ritual of memory that brings people to face with the experience of the exile/loss/absence in this journey (from psychic to social viceversa). As a result, different academic opinions including cinema as a „traumfabrik‟ (dream factory) and memory as a „theme‟ are being unified and connected by Winnicott‟s ideas and documentation topic of the memory, visuality and exiled from the time and space is being aimed to investigate and argued in this study..

ÖZETBu çalışma kent yaşamının içinde kendine yer edinmeye çalışan bir grup müzisyenin, gündelik yaşamda karşımıza çıkan yansımalarını ve aynı zamanda dört mevsim performanslarını anlatmaya çalışan belgesel çalışmasıdır. Sokak kültürünün vazgeçilmez bir parçası olmayı başaran, kamusal alanların içinde kendilerine yer edinen bu müzik gruplarının yaşadıkları zorluklarla beraber içlerindeki vazgeçemedikleri müzik aşkının güzel bir anlatımı olması için hazırlanmıştır.--------------------This study is a documentary which tries to explain our everyday impressions of a group of musicians trying to carve a place for themselves in urban society and their performances throughout the year. It aims to be a decent presentation of the difficulties faced by these street bands who have managed to become an indispensable part of the street culture and an integral part of public spaces, together with their irreplaceable love of music.

Film festivalleri ve festival bünyesindeki seçici kurullar tıpkı iletişim sürecinde olduğu gibi, içeriğin seçilmesinde, sunulmasında ve seyirciye ulaştırılmasında, belirleyicidir. Festivalleri düzenleyen organizasyonlar ve bu organizasyonları destekleyen finans kaynakları, bir yönüyle izleyiciye sunulan filmlerin içeriğini de belirlemektedir. Çalışma, bu organizasyonların bir parçası olarak festivallerinin seçici kurullarının, film üretimi, gösterimi ve tüketiminde etkili aktörler olduğu gerçeğinden hareketle, seçici kurulların film seçimlerini belirleyen etkenleri ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Türkiye’deki belgesel film festivallerini düzenleyen; kamu kurumları, yerel yönetimler, sivil toplum kuruluşları, bağımsız kişiler, üniversiteler ve özel kuruluşların her birinden süreklilik ve eskiliklerine göre birer örnek alınarak, TRT Belgesel Ödülleri, İstanbul Kısa Film Festivali, Antalya Film Festivali; İFSAK Kısa Film ve Belgesel Yarışması, Serka Kısa Film ve Belgesel Yarışması, Kısaca Öğrenci Filmleri Festivali, Okan Üniversitesi Öğrenci Filmleri Kısa Film Yarışması, Akbank Kısa Film Festivali ile inceleme alanı sınırlandırılarak, bu amaçla, 8 organizasyon içerisinden yukarıda belirlenen ölçütlere göre seçilen festivallerin, 2010-2016 yılları arasında festivallere başvuruda bulunan film sayıları, jüri üyeleri ve dereceye giren filmler ile çalışmanın analiz kısmı zenginleştirilerek elde edilen veriler döküman inceleme ve literatür taranarak elde edilen bulgular değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca seçilen festivallerde görev alan komite üyeleri, jüri üyeleri ve ödül alan yönetmenler ile yapılan yüz yüze derinlemesine ve internet aracılığı ile yapılan görüşmeler içerik analizi yöntembilimi ile ele alınmıştır. The film festivals and the selective committees within the festival are decisive in selecting, presenting and delivering the content, just as in the communication process. Organizations that organize festivals and financial resources that support these organizations also determine the content of films presented to the audience in a way.The study aims to reveal the factors that determine the selection of films by the selection committees in the sense that the selective committees of festivals as a part of these organizations are actors in film production, display and consumption. Regulating the documentary film festivals in Turkey; TRT Documantary Awards,Istanbul Short Film Festival ,taking as an example the continutiy and oldness of each of the public institutions , local administration ,nongovernmental organisation ,independent persons, universities and private institutions.IFSAK Short Film and Documentary Contest, Serka Short Film and Documentary Contest Brief Student Films Festival , Okan University Student Films Short Film Contest and Akbank Short Film Festival have been limited to the scope of study, for this purpose, the festivals selected from the above-The findings obtained by enriching the analysis part of working with film counts, jury members and films entering the festivals during the festivals in 2016 were examined by document examination and littoral screening and the obtained findings were evaluated. In addition, committee members who were involved in the selected festivals were evaluated by face to face interviews with members ,jury members and award-winning directors ,and interview content analysis via internet.

ÖZETBu tez çalışmasında belgesel janrası (türü) araştırılmaktadır. Çalışma belgesel kavramını tanımından başlayarak analiz etmek amacındadır. Çalışmanın (tezin) bir diğer bölümü hakikat ve gerçek kavramlarını tartışır ve belgeselin bu kavramlarla nasıl bir ilişkide olduğunu inceler. Belgeselin temel hatlarını oluşturduğu savunulan bir tür omurga olarak kabul gören ‘gerçeklik’, ‘tarafsızlık’, ‘estetik’ kavramlarının her iki janra (kurmaca/belgesel) ile olan ilişkisi ve dolayısıyla hakikat ve gerçekle ilişkisi bu ilk bölümde incelenmektedir. Çok kısa ve kabul gören tanımıyla kurmaca gerçek olmayan, bir yazar tarafından (senarist) yazılmış ve oyuncular tarafından oynanan bir öykünün filme çekilmesidir. Belgesel de gerçekten yola çıkan bir filmdir ve genellikle gerçek mekânlarda, gerçek kişilerle gelişir.Tarih boyunca janranın nasıl doğup, geliştiğini ortaya çıkarmaya yönelik ikinci bölümde Osmanlı’dan başlayarak Cumhuriyet süreci incelenmektedir. Çalışmada uzun süren tek kanallı süreci (TRT) takiben devam eden (sansürcü) çok kanallı bir yaklaşımın günümüze değin uzanan serüveni irdelenmektedir. Diğer yandan özellikle Almanya başta olmak üzere Rusya’da belgeselin nasıl kullanıldığı incelenmiş, hem Nazi ve hem de sosyalist bloğun kendi siyasi duruşları itibariyle de belgeselin nasıl bir siyasal yapı ve amaç içinde kullanıldığı gösterilmeye çalışılmıştır.Çalışmanın bir diğer bölümünde belgesel janrasının fonlarla, uluslararası festivallerle ve belgesel için önemli bir tüketim alanı olarak görülebilecek olan televizyon kanallarıyla olan ilişkisi incelenmiştir. Bu bölümde özellikle dünya belgesel üretimini şekillendiren National Geographic, Discovery ve Animal Planet gibi büyük dağıtım ağlarına sahip çok uluslu kanallar ve önemli uluslararası fonlar ele alınmıştır. Prodüksiyon koşulları ve özellikle de fonların aktarımını belirleyen koşulların nesnelliğinin sorgulanması, televizyon kanalları ve belgesel kanalı olduğu savunulan kanallar ve bu kanalların seçim kriterlerinin sorgulanması, festivaller ama özellikle önemli uluslararası belgesel festivallerinde temsil sorunu ve adaletle ilgili sık yapılmayan analizlerin farklı bir yaklaşımla yapılması bu bölümde yer alan konulardır.ABSTRACTIn this thesis the genre documentary will be studied. The aim of this study will be analysis starting with the definition of documentary. Another part of the study will discuss the concepts of truth and reality and will examine which of those concepts are closer related to documentary. The generally accepted concepts of “truth”, “neutrality”, “aesthetic” which constitute the backbone of documentary will be studied in both fiction and documentary film and thus in relation with truth and reality in the first chapter.Extracting how the genre arose and developed through history the second chapter will explore the adventure of the censorship approach starting in the Otoman times, followed by the Republican period til this day. On the other hand it will show how documentary was used in Germany and Russia, how both the Nazis and the socialist block incorporated documentary in the political changeIn the other part the relationships between the genre of documentary and the funds, international festivals and the important “consumption” field TV channels will be explored. Especially the global documentary production shaping multinational channels like National Geographic, Discovery, Animal Planed with big distribution networks and important international funds are discussed. Production conditions and especially questioning of the objective conditions of the funds distribution, questioning the selection criterias of TV channels and channels claiming to be documentary channels, analysing and adding a new perspective of the representation problematic and fairness of important international documentary festivals will be broadly treated in that chapter.
