Social media interactions, in which crime is at the center, offer researchers an opportunity that is difficult to encounter in real life. This opportunity is the recording of the data of the social reactions made in the heat of the event on the social media channels. Thus, data that can be recorded in real life only to be collected and analyzed by the researcher at the time of the event awaits the attention of researchers in the internet big data. The research is a qualitative case study. The aim of the research is to analyze the course and pattern of the social reaction toward the victims of fraud crime in Türkiye, with reference to the Çiftlik Bank incident, which occupied the agenda of Türkiye for a long time by using this opportunity offered by social media. In this respect, the research universe is social media channels, the research area is "Ekşi Sözlük," a social media platform, and the research sample is the reactions given to the event under the title of " Çiftlik Bank.” 2726 social reaction content obtained from the sample with document analysis was collected as data. The data were divided into themes and sub-themes through the MAXQDA program in accordance with the code book and analyzed in a sequential and comparative manner. In this analysis, three ways were followed in the most appropriate way for the purpose of the research. In the first way, it has been analyzed what kind of social reaction toward the victims at which stage in the process following the occurrence of the event. In the second way, all stages were analyzed comparatively and the pattern of social reaction toward the victims was reached. In the last way, a more holistic view of the pattern of social reaction toward victims is presented. In addition to the process pattern reached, the important results of the study are as follows: i) The cornerstone of the social reaction against the victims of the fraud process is the clarification of the victimization. Before the victimization becomes clear, the social reaction is to share the "rumors for and against" about the case with each other as information. However, as the victimization begins to become clear, it is seen that ridicule, insults, and curses toward the victims increase. ii) Another result of the research is that the social reaction piercing tip is aimed at the victim, not the perpetrator. iii) Another prominent result in this context is that no response from the victims expressing the victims themselves and their grievances was encountered. From this point of view, it is evaluated that the victims give a withdrawal reaction against the social reactions instead of defending themselves.

The development of the internet and social media networks has brought social changes with it. The emergence of a new social structure, especially in the structures created by social media networks, has led these networks to become the center of social change. In the structures created by social media networks, communities came together to form new virtual communities. The most striking of these structures are diasporic communities. Digital diasporic communities, formed by diasporic communities coming together in social media networks, express the unity created by the individuals who were subjected to forced migration and left their lives as a result, on the internet and social media networks. Explaining the importance of diaspora, such as identity and culture that comes with migration, especially on the young population, ensures that togetherness, solidarity, aid and information transfer are conveyed through the communities created in these networks. This study focuses on the digital state of the diaspora. In the study, the literature review method focuses on the ways in which the diaspora is defined in the historical process, the identity and migration, which are effective in the formation of the digital diaspora. In addition to this, digital diaspora studies and criticisms of the concept are also included and it is aimed to bring a new perspective to digital diaspora studies to be carried out in Turkey. This study aims to examine relationships between university students' desire to be liked and visible and behaviors related to social media usage. It also investigates whether these desires are dependent on some demographic variables. It was carried out as a correlational survey based on quantitative research paradigm. Participants consisted of 191 students studying at the Süleyman Demirel University, Turkey. Data were collected through personal information form, Purpose of Use of Social Network Sites Scale, Desire for Being Desired Scale and Self-presentation Scale. The results showed that participants had a low and moderate level of desire to be liked and visible respectively. Correlation analyses indicated that these desires were associated with different aims of social media usage (communication, recognition, education), type, content and frequency of sharing, and amount of followers. ANOVA tests showed no significant such desire differences across gender, age, marital state, major and grade, but significant difference in desire to be visible by amount of pocket money. Communication in social life is located at a dominant point. Communication is the process of interaction, self-transfer and interpretation for both individuals and groups. There have been certain differentiations in communication techniques until today. Transformations in digitalization have also led to differentiations in communication. Self-presentations and identity transformations are also included in these differentiations. In addition to our fixed identities as a result of technological developments, there are also identities we have acquired. In line with the acquired identities, self-presentations are transferred to the influence of environment, accompanied by various performances. Self-presentations have ensured its continuity by reproducing itself with socialization processes. The norms transferred in this process are internalized in the individual and put into action. The individual, who takes different norms in life, subjects the self-presentations he wants to reflect to reproduction. With certain changes, this process is continuous. Our self-presentations, which we provide face-to-face transmission, have been continuing to be transmitted on social networks in line with digitalization. There are differences in transfer actions with the development of technology. In this study, the effect of the differences experienced with digitalization on self-presentations transferred to social media has been tried to be explained. Accordingly, a literature review has been made and a theoretical framework has been presented. Erving Goffman's dramaturgy approach has been discussed in order to convey the manifestation of self-presentation in the context of digitalization. In this study, the level and dimensions of university students' self-expression in SMN (social media networks) during the COVID-19 pandemic were examined. In this context, a field study was carried out by applying face-to-face survey technique with 417 students studying at Selcuk University. Individuals who became lonely during quarantine-restriction days started to use SMA more frequently use and spend time. Accordingly, self-expression behaviors have changed in these networks. As a result of the study, an increase was found in the duration of SMA use of university students. The increase in the amount of time university students spend on SMA is also reflected in their self-expression behaviors. The average level of self-expression of the participants in SMA was determined as 72.18, and it was determined that they exhibited self-expression behaviors above the average. According to the descriptive statistical results made to determine the self-expression behaviors according to gender, the level of self-expression in social media is higher for women than for men. Exploratory Factor Analysis was conducted to determine the participants' self-expression behaviors and subdimensions in social media networks, and 5 sub-dimensions representing self-expression behaviors were determined. Therefore, it is of great importance for the society that the mayors of the metropolitan municipality carry out their general work as metropolitan municipality activities during the pandemic process, as well as informing them about the epidemic, the precautions to be taken, and the warnings on Twitter. In addition, during the pandemic process, especially incidental to the enforced restrictions on all kinds of activities to be held face-to-face, Twitter stands out as a social network that draws attention. In this study, 2.189 posts of Ekrem İmamoğlu, Mansur Yavaş, Alinur Aktaş, Fatma Şahin, Cengiz Ergün who serve as Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa, Gaziantep and Manisa provinces Metropolitan Mayors between March 1, 2020 and April 30, 2020 on their official Twitter accounts when the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic process was the most talked about matter and took effect throughout Turkey were obtained through the "Workbenchdata" and the contents of the posts that took place during the pandemic process were examined in detail, and the data obtained were visualized with "flourish.studio". This study aims to evaluate the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement in the context of new social movements. First of all, the theoretical framework of the new social movements and the reasons for the “new” characterization compared to the traditional “old” social movements are put forward. Then, the emergence and development process of the Black Lives Matter movement is covered. At this point, the role of social networks in the development of the movement is examined. The different aspects of the BLM movement, which emerged as a twitter hash tag, from other black freedom movements, the perception of BLM in the American public and the impact of BLM on the American public are evaluated. Within the developing technology, the number of promotion alternatives has increased and thus the competition has reached a wider area in airway markets. Keeping the traditional methods in the market prevents a company from the competition. Therefore, the role of social media in new trends is a curiosity for today’s marketing approaches. The paper aims to research the impact of social media marketing on brand loyalty. Airline industry in Turkey was chosen as sample study. Factors such as trust, satisfaction and expectation that affect brand loyalty in social media were evaluated. The findings provided a great number of marketing methods which airline company should take into account. Basically, the study demonstrated that updating social media frequently with the relevant contents, providing satisfaction and meeting brand expectations through social media are significant factors in creating brand loyalty.The research was conducted on airline companies in Turkey. The sample group was chosen from people using an airline company at least once in Turkey. The questionnaire was prepared through Google Form and sent to respondents via email and Facebook. Random sampling method was used in the research and analysis was made by One-Way Anova test, Chi-Square test and T-test. The research shows that brand loyalty factors in social media are related with trust, service satisfaction, interactive communication and benefit from company. It is observed that interactive communication and meeting brand expectations in social media are also important.

The effective adaptations and development of individuals are possible through the strong interaction of family, friends and elements within the individual's social support system. In situations where social relations are not supportive enough, the individual may turn to social media tools because of the reasons as loneliness and the need to share. The widespread use of social media among students may lead to a weakening of peer relationships and increasing loneliness. The aim of this research is to reveal the impact of perceived social support levels of secondary school students on attitudes of using social media. This relational research was carried out with 360 students studying at public secondary schools in Artuklu district of Mardin province in the academic year of 2018-2019. The study's data were collected by the "social media attitude scale" and the "perceived social support scale." Pearson correlation coefficient method and PATH analysis method were used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the research, it was determined that the path estimates hypothesized among perceived family support, perceived friend support and perceived teacher support and attitude variables related to social media did not have statistical significance. However, the findings of PATH analysis performed among the scale infrastructures proved that increasing teacher support increases social competence and decreases the level of social isolation. Çalışmanın amacı, acil serviste çalışan hemşirelerin aleksitimi düzeylerini tespit etmek ve sosyal medya kullanım düzeylerinin aleksitimi durumlarına ne düzeyde etki etiğini ortaya çıkarmaktır. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan anket tekniği kullanılmış ve veriler katılımcılarla yüz yüze anket tekniği kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Araştırmanın evrenini, Türkiye'nin İç Anadolu bölgesinde bulunan Ankara ve Yozgat illerindeki 116 hastanede görev yapan yaklaşık 8105 acil servis hemşiresi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini ise, bu illerdeki toplam 30 hastanede görev yapan 236 acil servis hemşiresi teşkil etmektedir. Çalışmada elde edilen bulgulara göre, acil serviste çalışan hemşirelerin aleksitimi düzeyleri düşük olmaktadır. Bunun yanında sosyal medyayı daha az kullanan hemşirelerde aleksitiminin daha az görüldüğü tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmada ayrıca katılımcıların aleksitimi düzeyleri, cinsiyet, yaş, medeni durum, eğitim, meslek yılı ve yaşanılan şehir temelinde incelenmiş ve anlamlı farklılıklara ulaşılmıştır.

Today, new media technologies and increasing social media usage have risen many new questions. The question of whether social media can create a new public sphere is one of them. Will the prospect of a democratic public sphere be possible with these new technologies? This is the main question of research conducted through Instagram, a social network with many users. Instagram is a social network where sharing is performed in many different categories. The group that is focused on this study are the accounts that extensively share books and often call themselves "Bookstagram". The reason for focusing on these accounts is because of their close relationship with literature during periods when the public sphere arises. The research, which used survey and discourse analysis methods, asks whether Bookstagram accounts have the potential to create a new public sphere. The public sphere generally can be created by majorities which have many differences. Social media channels also consist of many different networks. In this regard, this research is only a small part of a large research area. This study aims to analyse the role of location-based social networking practices, socialization and identity building processes of the university youth. The data was collected and analysed with quantitative and qualitative research methods. Questionnaires were conducted with 240 students at Anadolu and Osmangazi Universities in Eskişehir. The frequency, crosstable and Chi-square analyses of the quantitative data were carried out through SPSS. Additionally, semi-structured in depth interviews were conducted with 13 students selected from the ones who completed the questionnaire. The results of the study reveal that location-based social networks play an important role in diversifying the way users socialize and creating their identities. Museums are areas where artifacts belonging to previous periods are collected, protected and exhibited. While some museums play a role in creating awareness about the city and building the urban identity; It appears as structures that symbolize city life, history, communication of the city and the city. The changes and developments that have occurred today have been effective in shaping modern and communication instruments. In the process ranging from interpersonal communication to mass communication, together with new communication technologies, social networks have become an element of competition by being noticed by institutions. Within the scope of the research, 4 museums located in the historical peninsula of Istanbul in the context of urban communication of museums in reflecting the urban identity; Topkapı Museum, Hagia Sophia Museum, Basilica Cistern, Istanbul Archeology Museum and the reflection of the urban identity from the Instagram accounts of these museums and their works on urban communication were examined and evaluated by content analysis method. When the Instagram accounts of the museums are examined, it is seen that museums fulfill the necessity of being on social media; however, it has been observed that they lack social media to meet their target audience by using effective and appropriate content. Opening a social media account, does not exist on that platform, contrary it means being on the platform. Museums, which are places that embody the reminder, can become an urban communication tool that helps reflect the identity of the city when it is used correctly in Instagram, which is one of the social media platforms that help to be visible. Today, social network influencers play an important role in marketing by introducing products to their masses. Thanks to the wide marketing opportunities of social networks, especially young media consumers are increasingly using the content of online influencers. This research, which examines whether Vlogger's recommendations affect the purchasing intentions of young adults and aims to reveal the effect of vloggers' homophily attitude, social and physical attractiveness, reliability, expertise roles and money social relations on purchasing, was conducted by using data collection tool with 525 university students studying at Gümüşhane University. Thirteen research questions were created in the study, and the answers given to the questionnaire were tested using the T test and Anova analysis. The results showed that most of the university youth in the sample follow the vlogger via Snapchat and take into account physical attraction, homophily attitude and money-social relations in their purchasing decisions. The aim of this study is to examine the internet self-efficacy of Turkish pre-service teacher. Relational screening model, which is one of the quantitative research designs, was used. sample group of the research consists of 247 teachers studying at a state university located in the west of Turkey. The Internet Self-Efficacy Scale, which was validated and valid by Akın (2014), was used in the study. Descriptive statistical analysis, T-test, one way variance analysis (ANOVA), correlation analysis were used in the research. It was observed that the Turkish pre-service teachers who participated in the study generally spent 0-3 hours on the internet and used the internet to find important information. It has been observed that Turkish pre-service teachers can use the internet effectively to answer questions of both themselves and other people, and convey important and interesting information to other people via the internet. Turkish pre-service teachers are seen to use social networks to communicate effectively with other people. Male Turkish pre-service teachers stated that they use social networks more effectively. It is seen that there is no significant difference between the pre-service teachers' place, class levels and internet self-efficacy. It was observed that mother and father graduation status affects Turkish pre-service teachers' internet self-efficacy. According to the Turkish pre-service teachers who use social media for 7 hours or more, and the Turkish pre-service teachers who use social media for 4-6 hours, it can be seen that they can use social networking sites as an effective communication tool. Corporate productivity, corporate loyalty and corporate reputation, as well as the right to information of the employees all foster the need for internal communication For this reason, companies need to carry out effective communication techniques not only with their external stakeholders, but within the company itself as well. The fact that every communication tool evolves into a tool and method of public relations necessitates the need for companies to include digital communication technologies into their public relations strategies. There is also a correlation between the structure of said companies and the way they conduct public relations. In this study, a field research was carried out with the human resources units of 70 companies of different sizes operating in Çerkezköy in order to understand the relationship between the changes in communication technologies and the internal communication techniques employed by these enterprises, as well as the relationship between the size of a company and the communication tools and strategies they choose to employ. Both quantitative and qualitative research methods were used throughout the study. The findings of the study reveal that digital communication is widely used in internal communications and also that the utilization of social media as a communication tool varied between companies of different sizes. The objective of this research is to examine the ‘blogger mother’ identities, which focus on cultural transformation on social media. In this context, in-depth interviews were conducted with eight users who identified themselves as a ‘blogger mother’ in the blog environment with a mother identity. Negotiations were analysed through descriptive analysis. In addition to the interview, the last seven shares of each of the 27 blog sites were content-analysed. As a result, participants expressed their motherhood identities in the blog environment, and transformed the identity of motherhood in a cultural sense. In conclusion, it can be said that the traditional cultural sub-structure of the society continues to be influenced by the identity of mothers by means of social media. Social networks are increasingly effective platforms that allow more information to be carried and disseminated easily and efficiently. However, these ideas shared on a mobile basis can sometimes be hateful and harmful, and some even reach the hate speech dimension. In online media environments where hate speech is produced, media portraits of people from other cultures and the stereotyped images produced by these portraits often show that outsiders are dangerous and can shape the perception of society. Therefore, this study examines the online reflections of hate speech against immigrants on Twitter. Within the scope of the study, 1545 tweets related to the hashtag opened on Twitter as we do not want #surians, were analyzed by content analysis, then 3 videos and 3 tweets among the analyzed tweets were evaluated by discourse analysis method of Teun Van Dijk.Accordingly, it is the aim of the article to determine how hate speech for refugees is carried out online. Accordingly, it is the aim of the article to determine how hate speech for refugees is carried out online. According to the results obtained from the research, in online discourses, refugees are seen as invasive, greedy and immoral, and in online emotional reactions, humiliation rather than pity are encountered. It has been concluded that positive changes such as mutual understanding and the right to live together are generally shallow through internet and social media, and social networks are not favorable environments for such discussions, which are also vital for functional democracies. Although there exist limited studies within the related literature regarding the use of social networks on education, few studies are present with the focus on educationally designated social network tools. Furthermore, there is no such study of use of social networks on education that compares all the sharers. Therefore, the evaluation of employability of Edmodo platform that targets education and teaching applications, by the sharers (students, teachers, parents etc.) is the main goal of the research. 142 secondary school students, 6 teachers and 17 parents have participated in the research. The students were separated into three groups; the first group completed the task with the existing method, the second group utilized Moodle platform and the third group employed Edmodo platform. The data were collected through two distinct scales and interview forms. Educational Materials Evaluation Scale and Educational Materials Motivation Scale were used for collection of quantitative data whereas interview forms were used for the collection of qualitative forms. By the end of the study, it was found that students rated Edmodo platform highly and Facebook interface of Edmodo was impactful in such rating. It was understood that teachers had problems in preparing content in spite of positive inspect toward Edmodo system. It was concluded that the parents carried the concerns of privacy, primarily for social networks, and thus adopted negative manners; and these manners could be altered with the help of systems such as Edmodo. Nowadays, transparency has gained itself a continuous and safeguarded ground in the field of communication with its function of contradicting negativity and highlighting positivity as a manner of discourse. While transparency promotes extroversion and performance, it brings about the loss of aura by eliminating the distance. Social media is one of the effective channels through which transparency discourse emerges as excessive communication and extreme news. In a world where everything is displayed and transformed into a show, social network users have their own unique advertising objects. Excessive display makes things ready to be consumed by purifying them from the secrets that they carry inside and starts the commodification process. Thus, in the Baudrillardian sense, the loss of "aura of sight" takes place and appearance becomes superficial by transforming into image. Byung-Chul Han conceptualizes the self exposing itself in every way to attract the other's attention and to gain their interest and admiration as "the intensity of transparency". The aim of this study is to discuss the transformation that social networks create on surveillance and panoptic control processes through concepts such as "aura", "transparency", "obscenity", and "digital panopticon" and to draw attention to the intensity of positivity resulting from transparency. In the study, Facebook is preferred among the social media applications as the medium on which the topics of examination will be discussed. However, research will not be conducted on accounts and profiles individually; instead, a critical examination will be carried out over the possibility of transparency emerging from Facebook as a medium. While personal branding is becoming an increasingly important concept today, social networks have also been emerging as a very useful and cost effective platform to create, enhance and enlarge personal brands. Therefore, it is important to understand how to actively participate in a society based on social networks. This study examines how social networks are used in the context of personal branding. In this context, it was analyzed how personal brands using social networks have improved their success with new career opportunities, partnerships and followers in their online work, and it was demonstrated how social media can be used to build a strong personal brand. - Abstract
In this study, it has been touched upon that web 2.0 creates a strong and positive image for libraries, and provides a convenient environment for marketing of the information services. Therefore, the interaction and communication that the twitter increased among the libraries and their users and the benefits the twitter has created has been mentioned. The importance of measuring the impact score of the use of social network platforms has been emphasized by referring to the works done previously on Twitter accounts. Seven official accounts were examined in order to find answers to the questions regarding the Twitter use in the university libraries in Ankara. The 15 different features of the accounts and data collected from those accounts were analyzed by making comparison. The collected data are visualized and shared in the findings. It has been found out that the library accounts with a high number of followers and tweets have a high impact score in general. In accordance with this hypothesis, the Twitter account of Bilkent University Library became the second account with the highest impact factor in Ankara. Even though it ranks low on many qualities, Gazi University Library has ranked second on impact score due to its high likes and interactions stimulated by its tweets. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Corporate productivity, corporate loyalty and corporate reputation, as well as the right to information of the employees all foster the need for internal communication For this reason, companies need to carry out effective communication techniques not only with their external stakeholders, but within the company itself as well. The fact that every communication tool evolves into a tool and method of public relations necessitates the need for companies to include digital communication technologies into their public relations strategies. There is also a correlation between the structure of said companies and the way they conduct public relations. In this study, a field research was carried out with the human resources units of 70 companies of different sizes operating in Cerkezkoy in order to understand the relationship between the changes in communication technologies and the internal communication techniques employed by these enterprises, as well as the relationship between the size of a company and the communication tools and strategies they choose to employ. Both quantitative and qualitative research methods were used throughout the study. The findings of the study reveal that digital communication is widely used in internal communications and also that the utilization of social media as a communication tool varied between companies of different sizes.
