Amidst the scenario of digital surveillance and the treatment of personal data as a commodity, it is essential to raise issues related to the individuals' privacy, being a librarian's attribution to develop Privacy Literacy in academic environments. The general objective of the research is to present a panorama of content on Privacy Literacy developed from a sample of universities around the world, using the bibliographic and documental methods. From the bibliographic research it was found the discussion and orientation of library institutions regarding Privacy Literacy. In the documentary research with a sample of the 10 best positioned universities from each continent, 66 contents related to Privacy Literacy were identified, presenting the continent of Africa as the most representative in the content offerings. In the categorization of the contents it was identified that "Critical Thinking" is more present in the approaches, while only 5 of the total contents had the three categories, "Critical Thinking", "Technosolutionist" and "Legislative", in their approaches. It is suggested for future work the development of practices in Privacy Literacy applied in university libraries addressing the three topics, and the search for partnerships with areas that address the topic in the institutions themselves. The aim of this paper is to analyse the habits of researchers and librarians when promoting their work through repositories and academic social networks in the fields of Information, Documentation and Communication. Repositories are also used for preservation and early publication (preprints) of journal articles. Methodology: A bibliographic review, an online survey, interviews with experts, and an analysis of the evolution of some repositories have been carried out. Results: Thematic repositories, which were widely used 20 years ago, are now facing competition from institutional repositories (IR) and academic social networks such as ResearchGate, Academia.edu and others. A continued decrease in the number of deposits in the e-LIS (Eprints in Library and Information Science) and MPRA (Munich Personal RePEc Archive) repositories has been observed in recent years, which seems to be due to the fact that many universities have published mandates that force professors to archive their work in their IR. Another important cause of the decrease in deposits is the greater availability of open access journals in recent years, which has made it less necessary to archive articles in repositories. Academic social networks, on the other hand, are perceived as more dynamic, allowing interaction with other authors, and not requiring the introduction of so much metadata to upload documents. Data management is a process of controlling and processing data throughout its life cycle to ensure its value enhancement. The objective of this bibliometric study was to analyze the scientific production on data management in the Information science and library science category of Web of Science. A quantitative study was carried out by analyzing data based on 13 indicators. In the retrieval of documents, 743 records obtained, with a predominance of articles as the document type and English as the language. The most productive author is Andrew Cox, while the most productive journal is the Journal of The American Medical Informatics Association. The most productive country is the United States, followed by England. The keywords are related to data curation, information literacy, open science, research data management plans, networked databases and semantic web. As conclusions, aspects such as publication from university consortiums are mentioned, the scope of librarianship in the most cited publications is discussed, and data management is identified as a gap in indexed librarian research in Chile. This article exposes an experience of developing a course on information skills and tools for academic publishing for university teachers, based on the new roles that librarians have assumed, especially in the concept of integrated librarian, in terms of information literacy and the diversification of support services for research and publication. This course is part of the Teaching Improvement Plan and is characterized by being a practice of integration of the university library to the teaching-learning processes, also linking it as an advisor in academic publishing. Likewise, the collaboration between librarians with academic units linked to innovation and educational technologies is described. Finally, the technological tools used for the construction of the course are described and the result of this experience is evidenced, together with the future challenges and opportunities that arise as a result of the library integration in the training processes. game, their usefulness as a learning tool for the information literacy of undergraduate students. The videogame “The last exam” was developed after the analysis of 1,639 user queries registered over 2 years at the Complutense University Library, and aims to answer queries common to other university libraries. To evaluate its impact, a single-group pilot experiment was carried out with 14 undergraduate students using a pre-test/post-test validated by experts. The results show significant improvements in the students’ information skills, as well as positive evaluations of the exercise. We conclude that the incorporation of video games as a complement to the content of library training programs can be beneficial, especially as an introduction or for reinforcement or evaluation. The article presents the results of a survey conducted with Spanish and Italian university professors regarding the use of web 2.0 teaching tools during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results show that the perception of change is high and mainly depends on the professor's psychographic characteristics. The similarities and differences between the samples of university professors from both countries are discussed. Additionally, the importance of universities designing short, medium, and long-term strategies for university faculty to adapt their teaching to future lockdowns resulting from disease outbreaks is highlighted. The Library Information Skills course is inserted as a threelesson workshop within a research course in the Theology curriculum, whose purpose is to develop informational skills in the student and incorporate them into the research work carried out during the course. As a result, it has been observed in the students an improvement both in the search for information and in the use and management of bibliographic reference managers, and a knowledge/application of specific citation norms. In academics, the use of informational competencies in their teaching work is valued, as well as the systematization of collaborative work with the librarian in the development of the course. There is also an increase in the demand for consultations received by the librarian of the Theology Library. An analysis of the results is expected to be carried out to evaluate their scope and relevance in the Theology curriculum, to promote a researcher profile in the graduates. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article presents an interview with Brenda Torrejón Estrada about information literacy in Peruvian libraries. Torrejón explains that information literacy (IL) goes beyond searching and retrieving information, and should be cross-cutting and applied in different areas. She also mentions her professional experiences in state and private universities, where user motivation and the institution influenced the implementation of IL programs. The article discusses the social and emotional limitations that students faced in their first experiences with technological resources in the library. It was observed that final year students who had participated in IL programs showed an improvement in expressing their information needs and the quality of their academic work. At the National Library of Peru, an IL training program was implemented for librarians from different institutions, with a focus on internet access and dealing with fake news. The collective "Infóman@s" seeks to position and make the profession of librarian visible through open training sessions. The importance of library cooperation is emphasized, and the need for an Information Literacy (IL) project to counteract the effects of misinformation during the COVID-19 pandemic is proposed. The article discusses the Lima Lee program implemented by the Municipality of Lima, which includes subdivisions such as the Bibliometro and the Library Network. Regarding the future of IL, the need to adapt and personalize research programs is highlighted, as well as the importance of collaboration between the School of Library Science, the College of Library Science, and the National Library to create a structural program. This paper focuses on the study of the initial stage of the process of women's incorporation into the teaching profession in the first faculties that formed part of the Central University of Madrid, from the time when legislation made it possible, in 1910, until the end of the civil war. The circumstances and factors that made their access to teaching possible were analysed, taking into account previous contributions through an in-depth bibliographical review, and a new list of women professors classified by faculties was compiled, which recovers and expands on the data obtained in other research, as a result of new enquiries in the historical archives. This work analyzes visible reading practices, which were identified in a public library in Guadalajara, Mexico. Based on a sociocultural perspective of reading as social practice, we focused on the particular conditions and demands that the reader faces in a given space and leads him to develop reading activity in some specific way. The activity named "Story Time", carried out in the library addressed to the children's who are regular visitors, was chosen to develop our inquiry. Two methods of qualitative social research were used: Observation and interviews with the librarians in order to identify reading practices as well as their perceptions of the promotion of reading and readers' training. Concluding remarks show that the emphasis of this activity was placed on the dissemination of the library collection, along with promoting the reader's abilities the most appreciated in the school culture, such as reading fluency, through exercises such as reading aloud. In this essay we reflect on the role of the university librarian as a disseminating agent and provider of access to scientific information in Argentina. First, we present problems that arise in professional practice and generate dilemmas: the tension between the right of access to information and intellectual property; our imaginary on open access and the way in which we disseminate it into the academic community, facing the rules of the scientific field that researchers must follow to progress in their careers; and the relationship with commercial providers in front of our convictions about the way forward to achieve the democratization of access to scientific knowledge. After the debate on these dilemmas, where we brought to the dialogue our own experiences and those of colleagues, as well as those found in the consulted literature, we discuss some aspects to rethink our role in the academy, putting the focus of attention on our social function. It discusses copyright as a necessary competence for the academic reference librarian in order to provide guidance on issues related to the ethical and legal use of information. It reviews the topics of "academic library", "reference service" and "copyright" in relation to the current competencies of reference librarians in academic libraries. Using the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), we identified a sample of copyright offices that represent this new perspective for the reference librarian and analyzed their websites in order to identify current and emerging issues that can be important for the implementation of these services in Brazil and elsewhere. These issues are also considered key competencies related to the service that academic library and reference librarian provide to the community in relation to copyright. We conclude that, based on the analysis of the services and competences that are present in the international libraries, the curricula of the Library and Information Science programs, at least in Brazil, need to be revised in order to address these competences related to copyright and correspondently adjust the education and training of the reference librarians. With data collected from several statistical reports, schematic tables regarding job offers in public calls for information professionals from the year 2009 to 2020 are presented. Evolutionary tables since 2006 of the number of professional archivists, librarians and documentalists working in the public sector are also shown. The aim of this work is to identify the new possibilities of contents and technologies of digital books as communication and informational tools of last generation within the ICT. In addition, the position and receptivity of the new formats within the university publishing world in Colombia is evidenced. The process begins with a historical-contextual analysis for the comprehension of the book and the impact of the electronic format, passing through proactive methods to approach real approximations from the characteristics of the contents, typology of devices, specifications and developments for the screen-mediated reading to the hermeneutic reading of the different sources selected for the process: Interviews and conversations with editors, producers, designers and university publishing funds. From the instruments, surveys were designed for 25 editorial groups and 9 unstructured interviews with production companies and an in-depth interview model for university librarians. It is clarified that these instruments are part of a macro research, which also reviewed the role of the electronic book in the Colombian commercial sector, accompanied by 1,500 surveys throughout the country. Office work involves maintaining fixed postures for long periods, which leads to the development of skeletal muscle disorders, which is why an ergonomic evaluation is necessary to avoid health problems. The objective of this study is to evaluate, by means of ergonomic methods, the risk of postural loading of workers in the loan area of a library, in order to reduce the health problems associated with musculoskeletal disorders in the administrative area; A woman and a man were evaluated and three work cycles were analyzed: loan, refund and fine. The evaluations were with the Rapid Office Strain Assessment (ROSA) y (Rapid Entire Body Assesment (REBA) method respectively, both anthropometric and work area measurements were taken, and improvements. The results obtained through the methods allowed to inquire about the need to carry out improvement actions to address the inadequate postures and the organization of the workspace. Once the recommendations are implemented, favorable results are obtained, the workers' position improves, the risk level of REBA decreases from 9 to 3 for the case of the woman and from 6 to 2 for the case of the man, concluding that the recommendations were favorable to avoid or diminish the Skeletal Muscle Disorders. The dossier titled "Information Literacy: Trends, Knowledge, and Innovative Experiences in Libraries and Other Educational and Cultural Spaces" presents its second installment of the year 2022. The presented works address different topics related to information literacy, such as the application of a quantitative instrument based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology in university students, the impact of information skills on the use of tools for academic publishing, the presentation of an information literacy program from a Brazilian university library, the development of informational competencies from the perspective of design thinking in a Cuban university, and the application of digital and informational literacy strategies in older adults in Chile. The findings from a paper-based review of the joint participation of professors and librarians in the development of informational skills of university students are described in this paper. Likewise, the differences regarding how both of them recognize the concept of "informational competencies" are presented. For such research, a comprehensive review of the related literature was carried out and the retrieved documents published in relation to previously established topics, especially in Mexico and Latin America, were analyzed too. The literature highlights the collaboration professor-librarian and its impact in student's learning, nonetheless, one factor stands out in the results of the research, the papers published by faculty members reporting their experiences on the topic are minimum, librarians are the big contributors. The article presents the main findings of a study of library services for people with disabilities at university libraries in the Comunidad de Madrid, Spain. The findings describe the perceptions of disabled library users regarding the library materials and services available to them. The study indicates that, while services are available to users with disabilities, these services are uneven and uncoordinated across universities.

Academic libraries are facing a range of new challenges in the 21st century. Models of scholarly communication are experiencing a revolution with the advent of open access, with libraries adopting a lead role in self-archiving their institutional outputs in digital repositories. In addition, researchers are taking advantage of the computational power at their disposal, conducting research in innovative and collaborative ways that use and produce vast amounts of data. Such research-generated data underpins intellectual ideas, which in turn propagates new methodologies, analysis and ultimately knowledge. It is crucial that we preserve such mechanisms and output for future generations. With the experience gained from traditional cataloguing, indexing and organisational skills coupled to those acquired in developing, establishing and maintaining institutional repositories, the time is ripe for academic librarians to explore a new role. Research data need to be looked after from the moment of creation through their life cycle. The concept of data curation refers to activities like digital preservation but also those geared towards adding value to the data so that they can be discovered and reused. This article introduces e-Research and the likely function of academic libraries in this domain. It is examined the library policy followed by the first liberalism in the Valencian region during the first half of the 19th century. It is analyzed the Plan General de Bibliotecas of 1813, the different disentailing processes (1812, 1820 and 1835) and its culmination in a model of public, provincial and university library that will become general in 1838 to the rest of Spain.
