This article proposes a comprehensive reading of Martin lienhard's work on orality and writing as well as his textual analysis works that are related to anthropology. I.ienhard's unique cotitribution carl be highlighted based on three elements of relevance to anthropological works: the thematic developments referring to the relationship between orality and writing and the analysis of Quechua texts; his perspective in the use of anthropological concepts associated with culture, particularly in contexts of domination; and, finally, in contributions to the methodology associated with the analysis of rituals as texts and attention to the the legitimacy of the interlocutors. In I,ienhard's work, analytical considerations on texts go beyond literary content and converse with anthropological analyzes not only of orality and writing but also of ritual and memory. This article takes Gil Calvo's (2006) model of masculine masks as a reference to make visible and explain, based on ethnographic data, the masculinities of the Madrid bacalao in all its versions, present and past. This means addressing, from this perspective that includes this gender variable, both the three youth cultures (Feixa 1998) that constituted this phenomenon in the 1980s and 1990s -- bacalas, bakalas and vakalas (Leste, 2020a) -- as well as the neobakala music scene (Straw, 1991) that they have created in the present as a cultural heritage (Jiménez-Esquinas, 2017). This article also analyzes the rituality of these masculinities based on the work of Turner (1982), something that allows one to see how these subjects deal with their perceived burdens and reaffirm their masculinities. In this essay I reconstruct the good-will flight and 1928 funeral of pilot Emilio Carranza (1905-1928); both, examples of the diplomacy of the times between Mexico and the United States. I point out that flight was part of a strategy by the Plutarco Elías Calles government (1924-1928) to distract citizens, particularly those living in Mexico City, away from the ongoing Cristero Rebellion (1926-1929). I analyze the symbolism behind the funeral of Emilio Carranza in New York, and the funereal trip of his remains through several us cities until their first Mexican destination: Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas. I delve into the news in the national and international press as well as documents from the Historical Archive of the Secretary of National Defense. I close this at the moment in which Carranza's casket --covered with a us flag, as way of paying homage to him-- crossed the border and disappeared amid the dusty and desert-like streets of the Mexican border town. The subject of this article is the representation of rituals in pre-Colonial Mixtec codices. The objective is to show the diversity of rituals that were practised during the pre-Colonial period in relation to the ordering of social and natural times, from Mixtec stylistic resources and perspective. As other authors have already expressed, the codices are a primary and essential source for understanding the pre-Colonial period since, in the case of Ñuu Savi (The People of the Rain), they were written by Mixtecs, who explained their own world through these ancient books. In this paper will show an ethnography about the visit of El Niño Doctor to the city of Puebla in 2019 to participate in the Holy Friday procession, along with other sacred entities that also parade in said ritual act. The remarkable thing about this religious act is that it is the first time that both the mentioned sacred infantile entity and El Señor de las Maravillas meet in the capital city of Puebla. Both sacred entities are the most popular in the federal entity of Puebla. In Spanish society, the belief in God and the practice of Catholicism have decreased significantly. However, many Catholic festivities maintain their importance, and others have increased it. An attempt is made to explain the phenomenon from the hypothesis of the secularization of these rituals, which segregate new forms of modern sacredness, individualized and independent of institutional religion. The rites of passage of Catholicism based on sacraments, birthday parties, some manifestations of the cult of the Virgin, Holy Week and Christmas are analyzed. The overflow that occurs in all of them of the Catholic religion, understood in a strictly ecclesiastical sense, stands out. Transcendent forms of religiosity are articulated with immanent ones, in a functional polytheism characteristic of modernity. Finally, the concept of common religiosity is outlined, key to understanding a characteristic religiosity of advanced modernity, which is expressed exclusively in the effectiveness of the ritual. The purpose of this article is to present the results of the research carried out from the systematization of the significant experience of Ambulua, its objective is to recognize in the spirituality of Afro-descendant women, significant contributions that contribute to healing as peace building in the territory; The systematization of the experience was carried out from participatory workshops and documentary analysis. This allowed the reconstruction of «a road walked» and to identify significant learning in the search for the spiritual essence linked to the Mother Earth, which helps to bring out the essence, strength and liberating spirituality in Afro-descendant communities where women play an important role in the transmission of cultural values. It makes it possible to open paths for weaving the fabric of peace; where there is no supremacy, where the other exists, the other who is different and thinks differently but it is possible to walk together in life. The present study uses the methodology of grounded theory and discourse analysis of the case of Samanta, to approach talking with others about his deceased son, follow his example, keep memories and carry out actions designed to help him by understanding the continuity of links with him. Start from the personal spaces of the deceased loved one: their room that is intertwined with the grieving process that is influenced by family, culture and beliefs, the continuing bonds is expressed that makes Samanta feel proud and allows her to express herself of emotions and community. This study also highlights how the understanding of the different aspects related to the use of spaces and the understanding of time in autobiographical narrative recollection enriches the understanding of the process and gives meaning to the continuing bonds with the loved one. Settled and spread throughout the archipelago, in a constant search for solutions that allow it to be a religious community in its own right, in a diverse and plural society such as the Canary Islands of the XXI century, the Regla Osha is a religion that has, what can be summarized as very bad press. The objective is to analyze the constant association between the Regla Osha, a religion of Afro-Cuban origin, and the different spiritual and esoteric manifestations not considered as a religion, but as magical-ritual practices in the context of the Canary Islands, as well as its link with criminal practices in the archipelago. The objective is to describe the feminine meanings of the gold ritual practiced by small-scale miners and barequeros, Brazilians and Colombians, that move in the paths of Caño Negro and Guacamayo, located in the municipality of Solano (Caquetá, Colombia). I describe a gift given to miners through a woman's dream, the gift symbolizing the location of a very rich gold deposit. The miners acknowledge the verbal agreement through ritual "payments" that symbolize that the woman is a sort of pivot to preserve the kinship system, for this reason they ritualize the main spirit of the mine as a woman; In a context where mining has high levels of conflict, this practice is symbolized as the constant search for verbal agreements and the miner acquisition a social status to establish verbal agreements with his peers. Fans who are members of football firms support their team from the stands by singing songs, applauding and jumping up and down. Also, they believe that they must defend their team's colors and emblems through street violence. Outsiders characterize these activities as the manifestations of football culture and believe that this is damaged by the fans' hooliganism. The purpose of the article is to understand, from an etic perspective, football firms' celebrations and violent behavior using the social categories of ritual and violence. Thus, the activities and behaviors of fans in football firms are described with the purpose of understanding them from an outsider's perspective. Additionally, the article's methodology is based on ethnographic field work in which the researchers observed and participated in some of the activities of the Millonarios team's Blue Rain firm, in the Nemesio Camacho "El Campín" stadium in Bogotá. In 2015, while the town of Potosi was beginning its longest blockade in history to denounce lack of public investment, rumor spread that the government was sending witches to stem the discontent. Therefore, a group of healing women decided to organize a counter attack. In October 2019, during the controversial presidential elections, they got back into action. The purpose of this article is to analyze Bolivia's former government witchcraft allegations and the responses they brought forward as a political and moral discourse about the State in the context of Evo Morales's declining popularity. Every January the 2nd since 1927, Mexican police forces celebrated themselves during the date decreed for that aim. It was a secondary ritual due to the dubious support it had beyond the police. This article analyses the Police-Day celebration in Mexico, fundamentally driven by the police department official magazines. Through its pages is possible to understand the construction of an esprit the corpse that blurred the differences within a set of socially heterogeneous corporations marked with inequalities among its members, but also with evident distinctions depending on whether they were municipal or federal, and whether they were focused on security and urban public order or secret surveillance or judicial. Wicca Celtibera is a religious entity registered in the Registry of Religious Entities of the Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Spain since 2011 and in the Registry of Portugal since 2012. The main characteristics of the ideas that make up Wicca Celtibera are analyzed. It also aims to contribute to increasing the visibility of non-majority religious entities and to the dissemination of information on the recovery of ancient traditions of the Iberian Peninsula. From the world of research in the sciences of religions, numerous proposals and definitions of the concept of «religion» have been made. Based on a selection of these proposals, an analysis of them and a consolidated new definition is made. Subsequently, the two analyses, that of Wicca Celtibera and that of the concept of religion, are compared, with the aim of finding the answer to the question that gives the title to this paper: Wicca Celtíbera: is it religion? This work shows the importance of ideology with regard to the space / time order among any social group. The example used corresponds to the role played by places of worship where a Marian demonstration has occurred, such as in the case of Sarapiquí, Costa Rica. Regarding this event, the methodological approach takes into account that knowledge of the natural environment allows for the construction of various cultural strategies, through which the symbolic appropriation of space is achieved, and thus allows a series of natural elements to be prioritised with regards to the relationship between society and nature. This research aims to understand the routine practices and use of audiovisual content from the venezuelan youtuber DrossRotzank by members of his fan club in Lima, Perú. Therefore, the main objective is to analyse why the peruvian fans like to see the content produced by DrossRotzank. To solve this question, digital ethnography was used to analyze publications in social networks, chat rooms, images, videos, and six interviews with outstanding fans who narrated their preferences for the horror genre and paranormal or strange situations that appear in the audiovisual content. Among the findings we learned the fans share the cult for the contents of the youtuber, through a digital social world composed by several social networks and digital platforms where the participants converge. This study analyzes the reasons why the fans have formed a community where they maintain shared taste for the youtuber, and the routines and rituales they put into practice to make use of the YouTube channel of DrossRotzank, due to their taste for entertainment they find in the audiovisual content and the direct interaction with the youtuber through social networks. This work constitutes a first approach to the funerals of "fallen" soldiers, non-commissioned officers and officers in the so-called "struggle against subversion" between 1973 and 1976 and, more generally, it explores how in these rituals the figure of those who had "sacrificed" their lives was constructed. We start from the assumption that the production process of these deaths was made through the task of strong "psychological action" within the military ranks and that it was based on the paradigmatic figure of the soldier, non-commissioned and officer "fallen" by the "subversion". We will focus on the analysis of the speeches, practices and rituals that different actors (relatives, authorities of the Armed Forces, "comrades of arms" or promotion, political leaders, religious) deployed within the framework of these events. It seems to us that such study is fundamental in explaining how a social climate of risks, dangers, but also of hatred, vengeance, and sacrifice was built, which can be a key to understanding the corporate commitment of the Armed Forces in the execution of repressive measures, which was institutionalized after the coup d'état of March 24th, 1976. This paper discusses how the regional parades of the 'Day of Campecheness'(día de la campechanía) and 'Campechan Rejoicing' (algarabía campechana), held in the city of San Francisco de Campeche, Campeche, Mexico, are discursive constructions and rituals of Cultural Heritage, in turn proposed by government agencies. From the theoretical perspective of ritual, I analyze the symbolic messages that both parades generate. The Classic Maya (AD 300-1000) used different calendars, one of them named as "the Count of the k'atun" or "k'atuno'ob" which emphasized a period of 20 years (k'atun) by means of the sign ajaw, a practice that continued to exist during the Postclassic Period. While the calendar mechanism is well-known, not much attention has been paid on the morphology and syntax in the hieroglyphic texts in order to differentiate it from other forms to annotate equally the date of the k'atun. For example the system of the tzolk'in day ajaw, which allows the recording of a k'atun as well, however only the final day of the period gets recorded but not the period itself. The present paper not only develops the corresponding arguments but also emphasizes on regional uses related to this count in the Classic, among them the so-called practice of the half-k'atun still described by fray Diego de Landa in the XVI century and the relation with death kings and ancestors. Santa Rosa is the sacred entity that participates in rituals, public and private, named costumbres, that South-Huastecan otomies celebrate for divination, therapeutic and propitiatory purposes. Santa Rosa is the plant that the badi, ritual specialist, and the madrinas use during the costumbre. The Santa Rosa consumption allows trance which the entity incorporates herself in the person who has eaten it. She speaks to people and she manifests her own wishes and desires; she thanks for the gifts she received, or demand the fair retribution for the favors that she conceded to her "sons". The article expects to show that Santa Rosa is an entheogen that allows otomies to communicate with sacred entities, Antiguas; this facilitate the comprehension of many successes related with the life and she gives them the opportunity to know directly the secrets of human existence. This paper covers two issues: on the one hand, it presents some brief elements of what has, for some years now, been the cult of the Child Doctor of the Sick, present in the small town of Tepeaca de Negrete, located in the central region of Puebla State. The said cult has had an important influence in terms of summoning devotees through a variety of secular rituals and activities. This text focusses mainly on the religious activities held on April 30th, which is the date of the main festivities in honor of the Child Doctor, celebrated within the context of a commercial and artistic fair. On the other hand, with regards to the cult of the said child figure, it reflects on the use of both the religious and secular spaces by the believers and followers of the Child Doctor, as well as introducing a brief reflection on the use of the said spaces. The case of an eleven-year old child with an obsessive compulsive disorder is described. He was coward since he was a baby, with temperamental characteristics of inflexibility and persistence. The symptoms appeared from a negative family event and increased over the last two years. At the moment of evaluation the disorder interfered negatively in the child's family, personal, and social dynamics. A diagnosis of his difficulties was made by means of a clinical interview, observation, and standard tests. An intervention consisting of cognitive behavioral training was carried out, with the participation of parents and teachers. The case's evolution and follow up are described. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This research proposes an approach to the analysis of plant resources used in the production of musical instruments called sikus, played by members of sikuri bands involved at ritual celebrations in Jujuy Province, such as the Pilgrimage of Copacabana Virgin and Toreo de la Vincha, among others. The siku is a prehispanic instrument executed by human groups and the first records are belonging to Peru. Actually, it is located in the highlands of Peru and Bolivia, part of Chile and Argentina. The sikus are made from bamboo, however, is not easy to determine how many species are used. Then, the overall objective is to identify how many plant species are used to make sikus as well as their origin and the mobility circuits involved. The methodology includes fieldwork following the ethnography methods and laboratory work, involving plant species identification by anatomical comparison from reference material. From these procedures, the conclusion is that while various common names are locally linked to bamboos as raw material to make sikus -Chussi o Chuki y Quime- there is only a single plant species of woody bamboos which grows at Bolivia and Perú (at Bolivia limit), belonging to the genus Rhipidocladum McClure -Poaceae family (Bambusoideae-Bambuseae)- used to this purpose.
