LOVE of God , *HUMAN beings , *GOD , *EXPLANATION , *HYPOTHESIS - Abstract
Among the phenomena that manifest to human beings are the so-called transcendents Phenomenon, because it has their inaccessible and aporetic nature. However, such phenomena as love and God, are present in the human context. Therefore, in this study we will focus as a hypothesis, a phenomenological approach to these phenomena that we call transcendents, of which we will make an explanation of how such a condition is inferred, due to its aporetic character. The first one, the so-called theological turn in phenomenology and the saturated phenomenon will be analysed; The second one, we will talk about the phenomenon of love and its various characteristics from phenomenology; and the third one, we will approach the study of God as a theological phenomenon and the various problems that emerge from his phenomenological study. This analysis serves as a basis for studying the genesis of transcendent phenomena, in order to broaden the horizons of understanding around this perspective. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PHENOMENOLOGY , *FEMINISTS , *GENEALOGY , *FEMINISM - Abstract
The essay addresses the relationship between the body and communication from a feminist perspective. At first, the genealogy of the theme of the body in feminist thought is presented; subsequently, we reflect on the relationships between the body and communication from sociocultural and phenomenological approaches; in a third moment, the text presents some reflections and examples about what a feminist perspective can contribute to research on the body and communication, to close with some final considerations. Throughout the text, empirical themes are presented that relate the body, communication, and affectivity in a feminist key. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SHORT films ,SOCIAL space ,FEMINISTS ,GAZE ,PIGEONS ,DOCUMENTARY films - Abstract
Those who desire (Elena López Riera, 2018) and Rapa das bestas (Jaione Camborda, 2017) emerge as two distinctive endeavors within the contemporary Spanish cinematic landscape. Rather than overtly showcasing their feminist stance by directly denouncing female inequality, they do so tangentially, probing into a social practice seemingly distant from gender conflict (a pigeon competition and an ancient tradition of horse shearing). In this study, the meticulous formal work of the two short films is analyzed, drawing upon the destabilization strategies of the gaze utilized in the so-called sensory documentary, evoking an audience experience that transcends purely intellectual engagement to also involve them emotionally and viscerally. It is through the estrangement operated on both the expressive and content levels that these two examples allow for the activation of a political reading of the androcentrism that pervades social spaces without having to explicitly articulate it. Though uncommon, the intertwining of the phenomenological and the semiotic proposed here sketches out new and hopeful paths of feminist positioning within the audiovisual landscape. PHENOMENOLOGY , *MAGIC , *OPTICS , *CULTURE , *WISDOM , *LEARNING - Abstract
Information, knowledge and wisdom are not the same. Nor is instruction and culture the same. We long for a knowledge that unitarily integrates truth, good and beauty. That is what is learned in the school of the classics, the total school. These works pose the crucial questions with paradigmatic optics and unequaled depth. But there are obstacles in the current culture for reading the classics. The "magic of reading" confronts other, more powerful magics. The main reason to read is to appeal to qualitatively superior entertainment. After a phenomenology of reading addresses the profound impact of the work on the reader. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

CLIMATE change ,COGNITION ,PHENOMENOLOGY ,SARS-CoV-2 ,ANTHROPOLOGY ,SOCIAL constructionism ,CULTURAL pluralism - Abstract
To explain cultural diversity, many theories refer to the social construction of reality. In this telling, we frame the world to make it meaningful. In my analysis of what people in Namibia and Germany know about "SARS‐Cov‐2" and "climate change," I propose an anti‐constructivist alternative. Drawing on the work of the phenomenologist Bernhard Waldenfels, I argue that experience comes first and exceeds language and the conceptual and symbolic orders we use to describe it. Waldenfels refers to this excess as "the alien" (das Fremde). This alienness calls us and demands a response. Only by responding, do we make the world meaningful. Since the alien is the excess to a particular order it becomes important to explore how orders are applied in situations. To explain this, I draw on recent developments in "4E" cognition that describe the mind‐world relation as fourfold intertwined: embedded, embodied, extended, and enacted. Combining Waldenfels' responsive phenomenology and "4E" cognition thus allows it to be shown how knowledge emerges as an enactive response to the demands situations create. I conclude by showing how this opens up new possibilities for addressing the plurality and situatedness of knowledge in anthropology. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Introduction: The naming of intensive care units (ICUs) has varied over time. From intensive surveillance units, intensive care units, intensive medicine units to critical care units. In practice these denominations seem to overlap to such an extent that surveillance seems to prevail over care. Methodology: reflexive article with a hermeneutic phenomenological approach that addresses the phenomenon of daily life in the ICU in relation to spatial design, power relations and time lived in order to problematize the denomination Intensive Care Unit as opposed to Intensive Surveillance Unit. Results: the daily life of the ICU is a regulated and highly controlled space, in which the life of professionals and patients is conducted through different mechanisms to such an extent that it has characteristics of what authors such as Goffman consider total institutions. In which, through depersonalization mechanisms, the characteristic heterogeneity of the human being is homogenized. Conclusion: Caring implies to watch, to be attentive, to be on guard and to control in some cases. However, it is not reduced to this; caring also implies recognizing oneself as a finite and vulnerable being, that is, as an eminently compassionate being. Care cannot be authoritarian, nor can it undermine the capacity of agency of the subjects of care; on the contrary, it is a possibility that allows us to resist the structures and devices that control life. Caring as an instinctive and reflexive act at the same time, supposes a double nature between pathos and logos, this same nature cannot be blurred inside the ICU. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Introduction: Currently diabetes is a great challenge for society and health systems, the phenomenological approach is configured as an essential method to reconstruct experiences and meanings of those living with Type 2 Diabetes (T2D). Objective: To analyze the qualitative scientific literature with phenomenological method on the experience of living with T2D in adults. Methodology: Systematic review according to the PRISMA statement, 8 electronic databases were con-sulted using the terms MeSH and DeSC, phenomenological studies in Spanish, English and Portuguese published from 2012 to 2022 were included. Results: out of 776 studies, 15 phenomenological studies showed the experience of living with TD2 on: unexpected diagnosis and lifestyle changes, knowl-edge, and attitude towards TD2, spirituality, self-care, cultural education, relationship between health pro-fessionals, financial burden and social support. Conclusion: People with TD2 experience diverse situations that require more phenomenological research to understand them and to propose care strategies with interventions adapted to each context, allowing the dialogue of knowledge between the person with TD2 and nursing. COGNITIVE ability , *TRANSHUMANISM , *CONSCIOUSNESS , *COGNITION , *PHENOMENOLOGY - Abstract
This paper explores the intersection between the extended mind thesis and transhumanism, with a particular focus on how technology may influence, alter, or enhance human cognitive abilities. The extended mind thesis posits that external elements can become integral components of cognitive processes. Drawing on this notion, the paper contends that transhumanism adopts such perspective in advocating for the possibility of cognitive enhancement. In this sense, it assesses whether technology can truly improve cognitive function or whether it might, instead, induce a specific type of ignorance by diminishing cognitive phenomenology--the lived, experiential dimension of mental processes or the phenomenal aspect of cognitive consciousness. The assumption that cognitive technologies inherently enhance independent mental performance is challenged, with the argument that overreliance on technology may impair the ability to execute cognitive tasks autonomously. The analysis concludes that the integration of technological artifacts with human cognition can indeed lead to a specific form of ignorance by compromising cognitive phenomenology. It also suggests that such ignorance signals that the excessive use of technology may undermine the ability to perform cognitive tasks independently. These two conclusions invite reconsideration of the transhumanist claim that technology can improve human cognition. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PHENOMENOLOGY , *POLEMICS , *ARGUMENT - Abstract
The so-called controversy around psychologism (Psychologismusstreit) is composed, actually, of a series of singular polemics that do not necessarily have a factual link between them. The discussion between Herbart and Beneke is one of them, having particular importance for being at the beginning of the conflict. In it, the psychologistic thinker Beneke acutely perceives the weak points of the Herbartian position and initiates a line of argument that, with variations, will remain constant in psychologism and will give meaning so that the last act of the drama called Psychologismusstreit, is delivered by Husserl's phenomenology. This article delves into the processes of signification regarding resilience among adolescents who have traversed the Chilean child welfare and juvenile justice systems, as it plays a pivotal role in identifying factors conducive to adaptation and social integration. Drawing from qualitative research grounded in a phenomenological approach, the study analyzed six in-depth, semi-structured interviews with adolescents who have interacted with both systems. Findings underscore that personal resilience in adolescents is closely tied to their self-perception and learning experiences aimed at developing social skills and emotional regulation. Additionally, social and institutional resilience is marked by adolescents' perceptions of enhancements in their quality of life and their ability to adapt socially. They emphasize the importance of establishing solid, trustworthy, and enduring relationships with counselors and educators, alongside highlighting the supportive role of intervention institutions in fostering personal, relational growth, and in shaping a proactive and adaptive life trajectory. These outcomes underscore the need to integrate resilience processes into the design of interventions targeting vulnerable children and adolescents caught in situations of legal transgression, advocating for their incorporation into public policies addressing childhood and adolescent vulnerability. FOREST microclimatology , *FOREST fires , *CLIMATE change , *CARE of people , *PHENOMENOLOGY , *FIRE management - Abstract
In the context of climate change and forest fires, the lack of an intercultural approach in fire management policies, which incorporates the cultural knowledge of communities, has had negative consequences, posing a threat to the preservation of these practices within the communities. The objective of this article is to understand the relationship between culture and fire as a possibility for the integrated management of this element, addressing the challenges of community work in the key of Heideggerian dwelling, building, and caring. Phenomenology from Heidegger serves as our methodological guide. The comprehensive journey leads us to the conclusion that the term 'culture' is related to the experience of Heideggerian building and dwelling, as long as it is seen from the perspective of care and protection, akin to communal construction. Thus, we question the colonial oversight paradigm of prohibitive policies regarding fire use in communities. This article aims to promote governmental practices that integrate culture from its conceptual depth into participatory institutional programs for the design of fire management policies, adopting an intercultural approach. In this way, we will recognize pyrobiocultural territories as cores of knowledge through which people live and dwell with care from people's memory lens. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

LIPREADING , *PRAGMATISM , *PHENOMENOLOGY , *PRAGMATICS , *OBJECTIVITY - Abstract
The aim of this article is to address Jean-Luc Marion’s interpretation of the pragmatic tradition, in order to demonstrate the practical dimension of French eventual phenomenology. First, we will explore the passages where Marion develops this critical appropriation of pragmatism. We will show, on the one hand, that this reception is inseparable from his reading of the thought of Dionysius the Areopagite, as can be seen in L’Idole et la distance (1977) and De surcroît (2001). On the other hand, we will investigate his reading of pragmatism and the Speech Act theory in Le visible et le révélé (2005). In order to clarify the singularity of this reception practiced by Marion, we will simultaneously provide an analysis of analytical pragmatism, particularly considering Richard Rorty’s proposal. Finally, we will expand the language pragmatics of saturation in Marion to various common issues in Jean-Louis Chrétien’s phenomenology of the voice, as both proposals express a performative and non-predicative language that emphasizes the excess of meaning outside the paradigm of objectivity. RESPECT , *POSSIBILITY , *VERSTEHEN , *PHENOMENOLOGY , *DECISION making - Abstract
According to Jean-Luc Marion, the subject is responsible for the phenomenalization of the given. This process—characterized as “hermeneutic” by the author—implies a discrimination concerning which is the most adequate way to show the phenomenon. For this to be possible, however, a modality of thought which does not deal with objects but with events is needed. This paper argues that this modality—suitable for deciding the way of phenomenalization of the given—can be found in practical thought. Firstly, I trace back this possibility to the Cartesian esteem. Secondly, I discuss it with reference to the Aristotelian prudence. Finally, I relate both approaches to comprehension (Verstehen), a concept that Marion picks up from Heidegger and Gadamer. THEOLOGY , *METAPHYSICS , *PHILOSOPHERS , *PHENOMENOLOGY , *GOD - Abstract
This paper intends to show how the phenomenology of Jean-Luc Marion is causing a significant reaction on contemporary theology. Based on Martin Heidegger’s thought, the French philosopher is forcing the reconsideration of the very theological discourse on the premise of the distinction established by both authors between theology and theiology. We conclude by affirming that theology forces us to think of God outside of metaphysics and, because of that, outside of the being of beings. God can only be thought—without falling into idolatry—by being thought of as a gift, as the Agape who is given to men. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The objective of this paper is to analyze the implications for the social sciences of online crimes, specifically fraud and pedophilia in Ecuador. The methodology used is justified in the conception of systematized reviews, using the analytical framework of systematized reviews in Human and Social Sciences. Databases such as Google Scholar, SCOPUS, Web of Science (WOS), Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo), among others, were used. The conclusions point to the need to increase research on these crimes from the social sciences, the application of the phenomenological approach, the investigation of myths and beliefs about these phenomena, the promotion of public policies and the promotion of interdisciplinarity with other behavioral sciences. SOCIAL marginality , *PHENOMENOLOGY , *STORYTELLING , *IMAGINATION , *CRIMINOLOGY , *VIOLENCE , *PRAISE - Abstract
The article titled "A la 'Vera' of criminology" is a review of the book "Ensaios brasileiros de criminologia" by Vera Malaguti Batista. The author of the review highlights the importance of contributions that move away from religious, dogmatic, or fundamentalist expressions in the field of criminology. The literary and phenomenological approach proposed by Malaguti, which seeks to tell stories to convince and move, is praised. The importance of the literature of Machado de Assis and other writers in describing the violent reality and challenging traditional categories of criminology is emphasized. The violence and social exclusion in Brazil are also criticized, and imagination is proposed as a tool to address the criminal issue in a more political way. [Extracted from the article]

RISK perception , *PHENOMENOLOGY , *MENTAL health , *CLINICAL pathology , *HOME environment - Abstract
The objective of this study was to understand the perceptions of occupational hazards and self-care that veterinarians from a public university have. Clinical physicians in large and small species, teachers dedicated to clinical laboratory and pathology, as well as surgeons participated. The research was framed in the qualitative research methodology, with a historical hermeneutic and phenomenological approach. How information collection techniques were used: documentary review, interview and focus group. The results show that professionals perceive self-care as a set of practices to maintain physical and mental well-being, which includes all biosafety measures to reduce risks; Likewise, they consider self-care as something integral, which implies taking care of themselves in the workplace, at home and in their environment. They affirm that there are a series of protocols or biosecurity measures that they apply to take care of themselves, but they also state that they do not know these protocols because they have not been socialized. It was evidenced that veterinarians partially comply with biosafety measures, including the use of personal protection elements and recognize ergonomic and psychosocial risk as the most relevant in the work exercise. It is concluded that the participants try to assume self-care measures, but in the event of accidents, incidents and/or occupational illness, they do not activate the corresponding protocols for addressing occupational risks. PATIENT experience , *COLORECTAL cancer , *PHENOMENOLOGY , *SOCIAL adjustment , *CANCER patient care , *SADNESS - Abstract
In Mexico, colorectal cancer ranks first in mortality and is considered the third most frequent type of cancer. Colorectal cancer patients face challenges in adjusting to their daily lives and activities as symptoms increase significantly from onset, during, and after treatment. Physical and emotional problems resulting from cancer diagnosis and treatment generate support needs throughout the cancer trajectory, which may be associated with decreased quality of life. Currently in Mexico there are few qualitative studies on the needs of patients with colorectal cancer. A phenomenological analysis helps us study experiences as they occur and how people experience them, and could help us understand patients' reactions, feelings, and experiences to changes in cancer diagnosis and treatment, and thus way to provide specific care to the needs they present. The study aimed to investigate the experiences faced by colorectal cancer patients during the diagnosis and treatment process and to identify the support needs required. Qualitative research was carried out with a phenomenological approach which tries to describe the experience without trying to give causal explanations. From this model, people are considered as active, thinking, and responsible for their actions, it considers that people are naturally good and that they seek to achieve positive goals. This model considers that the person cannot be understood unless he perceives the world through her eyes. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 16 patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer. The interviews lasted 30 to 50 minutes, were audio recorded and transcribed verbatim by a collaborator. The transcripts were analyzed using interpretive phenomenological analysis involving content analysis by categories. The study was approved by the Local Committee for Research and Ethics in Health Research of the Hospital de Alta Especialidad (R-2016-1901-89), which provides tertiary care to patients diagnosed with cancer in which patients receive the cancer treatment of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The results show two main themes that emerged in the analysis: changes and support needs during diagnosis and treatment. The changes experienced by patients during diagnosis and treatment are mainly emotional, such as sadness and fear, for which they used different coping strategies such as thinking about their family and spiritual aspects; social and family as adjustments in their activities of daily living, physical related to surgery, stoma and chemotherapy as treatment received, which were accompanied by psychological discomfort. A restructuring of the cancer process was also noted as a positive experience. Other support needs were the lack of information on psychological and family care and on the effects of diagnosis and treatment. The study has limitations, the design was descriptive and exploratory, so it is recommended to carry out a follow-up that allows reviewing the experiences of the patients over time and during the trajectory of the cancer. It is also important to explore the experiences of family members and professionals to obtain a broader view of the phenomenon of the cancer process in its different actors. However, the study is considered valuable due to the information obtained directly from the patient's experience, showing that the changes they experience are emotional, social, family, coping and physical in relation to surgery, stoma and chemotherapy, as well as, the restructuring of the cancer process. Unsatisfied support needs are also shown, such as the lack of information on psychological and family care and on diagnosis, treatment and its side effects. Psychosocial interventions are suggested according to the specific changes that occur in patients, the unmet support needs and the different moments of the disease. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
