The purpose of this paper is to elucidate the manner in which a civil society was reconstructed in Monte Alto, specifically in a protected area included in the micro-region of Valle de Bravo I (state of Mexico), by the measures developed to solve forested problems. There were, indeed, the forested issues which worked as incentives towards a democratic participation of various actors from the public arena, for instance environmental organizations (promoting the Vallesana society intervention) and governmental agencies. Consequently, allowing for the preservation, protection, and wealth of the protected natural region. The methodology used in this study followed a qualitative paradigm since it searched for the meaning and interpretation of environmental organizations and civil society ́ actions. Additionally, it was supported by a quantitative methodology on the socioeconomic ground of the surrounding communities, as well as accounting on the timber extraction in Monte Alto.
