The paper analyzes the results of the pilot implementation of the school subject ―Basics of religious cultures and secular ethics‖ (BRCSE) in grades 4 – 5 of Russian schools. The subject of research is the local experience of BRCSE teachers in Trans-Baikal region housing the Agin-Buryat Autonomous District, which is home to mostly indigenous people – the Buryats. Outside the District, the population of the Region are predominantly Russians. During the three centuries of cohabitation, these nations have developed a model of ethno-cultural and ethnic and religious tolerance, community and mutual respect. The paper aims to identify the psychological problems experienced by children, their parents and teachers in the process of implementation, learning and teaching of this difficult and very important school subject. It is necessary for the spiritual and moral education of children and the youth, which modern Russian society lacks. The main methodological basis is the complex, spiritual-value approach. The results are positive and suggest hope that the spiritual values acquired by children in this sensitive period will grow at later stages of ontogeny.

The paper considers the formation of future foreign language teachers’ professional lexical competence in the classes on home-reading. The paper provides the authors’ definition of this phenomenon, the results of the students’ testing are shown, the basic principles for selection of professionally-oriented English texts are presented, the plot, theme and developing problem situations used for the formation of professional lexical competence of students are described.

The paper discusses the process of the formation of the humanity as spiritual integrity and subject of activity. Thus the spiritual unity contacts the unity of consciousness, self-consciousness, generalization of various requirements, balance of interests of the purposes and ideals. The practical unity is realized in communication, in the sphere of policy, economy, social interaction. Tools by means of which humanity is formed are considered: mythology, art, rationality. The main stages of enlarging the rate and forms of communication are shown. The authors note that the formation of new forms of communication is followed by the process of the humanity’s revealing the human essence, understanding the human community. Features of the present stage of this process, its contradictions and prospects are outlined. Results of research can be used in the field of philosophical anthropology, social philosophy, global studies. The dynamism of mankind, its dependence on consciousness, consciousness and science are shown in the paper. The conclusion that further prospects of formation of mankind depend on volumes and the scale of generalization of requirements, interests, ideals is drawn.

The modern food market is undergoing a period of rapid development following the changes in marketing technologies and consumer behavior patterns. Nowadays, people pay more attention to the quality and composition of food products, as well as their functional properties. The present article reviews the international and Russian market of functional foods in order to define the consumer demand for new specialized products. The methods included data comparison, grouping, and systematization. The analysis involved Russian and foreign papers published in 2018–2022 and registered in Scopus, eLibrary, Cyberleninka, and the Library of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research. It also covered the National Demography Project, the Healthy Nutrition Project, and the Strategy for Improving the Quality of Food Products through 2030. Consumers’ growing interest in improving their health and immune system proved to be the key factor in the functional food market. The COVID-19 pandemic intensified such trends as the priority of healthy, high-protein, and low-sugar foods. Japan and the USA are the current leaders on this market. Russia supports healthy food policy at the state level. The functional food market is likely to become the most promising and competitive sector of global food economy. Consumer demand for these products is steadily growing: the volume of demand for functional food products will reach 17 trillion rubles by 2027. However, Russian food science needs more research in this area to catalyze import substitution. The Omsk Agrarian University has numerous projects that are meant to increase the competitiveness of the domestic functional food industry.

Based on Yu. V. Bondarev's novel “Relatives”, the paper presents an analysis of the problem of destroying family relationships. The paper focuses on the characters' moral choice and tragic consequences of a spiritual gap between generations, and defines the author's opinion on possible ways to overcome the gap.

The paper presents the study of lexico-grammatical and grammatical linguistic means which organize the far periphery of the category of Understanding in Modern English language. Methods of definitional and contextual analysis applied in the paper allow to specify phraseological units employed for the meaning of “acquired understanding” as well as grammatical constructions which represent the above mentioned category through a notion of towards-person idea movement.

The paper proves the usefulness of the project method in training future managers and presents the stages of their preparation for the project activities in mathematics, based on the organization of independent work on correction, deepening, expansion of knowledge, the use of professionally oriented problems and cases. The examples of professionallyoriented projects in mathematics are given in the paper.

The paper is devoted to analysis of social exclusion of elderly people and the causes of this process in the modern Russian region. In relation to the physiological, psychological and social changes that occur with elderly people, the social exclusion of elderly people has some of features. The aim of the paper is to describe the characteristics of the social exclusion of the elderly people in the Altai region. The author analyses the results of the sociological research conducted in 2012 – 2013 in the Altai region. The scientific study of social exclusion of elderly people was performed for the first time. According to the results of a sociological survey, seniors in the early the 21st century are characterized by both states and situations of exclusion. The author points out the poor development of the labour market, and the absence of institutions of resocialization, irregularity of forms of assistance or insignificance of support compounded by conservative personal qualities of elderly people in the region. The main area of application of the research results in the future is for the local government to study the process and develop some programmes aimed at the elderly people with a view to support them and to create favourable conditions for normal life of elderly people in the region.

The address to A. A. Kabakov’s creative individuality is actual in the context of small amount of works, investigating his prose. The novelty of the research consists in revealing a method of metaphor realization on the material of one of the writer’s little-studied stories.In the paper the mechanism of action of the comprehensive metaphor «Project “Babylon”» is revealed, which embodies non-existence, based on the story with the same name by the modern writer A. A. Kabakov. The metaphor semantics manifests itself by means of interaction of a canonical (stable) sense of the expression «Babel», referring to the biblical story, and a secular (daily) meaning of the situation of the «pillar creation» – an élite tower house. A renewed metaphorical meaning of the idiom «Babel» is proposed. The state of «non-existence» is determined by motives of death and disappearance of the human kind, its devil’s temptation and the Apocalypse, senselessness and an existential frustration of people, a cultural degradation of the society and the ecumenical chaos.The paper is based on a historical and literary approach, whose academic base is N. D. Arutyunova’s work on the metaphor theory.The theoretical significance of the paper lies in the consideration of the phenomenon of poetics of the post-modernist prose. The practical significance is determined by the possibility of using its observations in university courses, devoted to actual problems of the modern Russian literature.

The article is devoted to the specifics of the Omsk Regional Museum's activity in the height of political repression. The paper aims at characterizing the large exhibition, which was organized by this museum on the centenary of Alexander Pushkin's death. The author explains the particular representation of exhibition materials in the context of the Soviet state ideology and memory policy. Methodologically, the author relies on the works, known in the Western science as «memory studies». The paper deals with the principles of representing Russian history of the first third of the 19th century (Pushkin's era), and shows the process of creating the exhibition. The author also characterizes the visitors’ perception the exhibition, their criticism and positive feedback. The author comes to the conclusion that this exhibition was very important for the state in terms of the processes ofindoctrination of the past. It diverted attention from political repression and was aimed at creating a negative perception of the country's history before the Soviet coming to power and a positive image of the contemporary situation in the public mind.

The paper deals with the problem of pricing in the technical and economic progress justifying permanent conditions of gold deposits. The object of investigation is theselected gold deposit «N». In this paper, the author concludes that the choice of the price of gold in the feasibility study of conditions and putting them on the state account should be dealt with soundly; and some reserves should possibly be found to keep the price below recommended guidelines. Basing on a large empirical material, the author proves that reducing the price of gold by 10 % leads to financial strength of the enterprises increasing by 8 – 10 %, while the NPV at a discount rate of 10 % will increase from 80 million rubles. To 3.609 billion rubles., and ID – from 1.03 to 1.41, with losses of minerals in the region of 5 – 6 %. This will reduce the impact of the risk of falling prices on gold mining, as well as improve their financial condition.

The research focuses on value formation as a many-sided philosophical category. It aims at showing the dependence of consideration of the problem of value and its assessment on belonging to particular philosophical approaches. The method of historical reconstruction is used as the main method. The paper provides a systematization of philosophical ideas about the essence and the values nature since ancient philosophy till the formations of axiology as an independent school of thought. Classification of the main axiological approaches in the western philosophy is given in the paper as well. Modern interpretations of the category of value are generalized. The authors show that having arisen within the doctrine about life and benefit, the theory of values consistently got into various scientific areas, gaining character of a comprehensive theoretical methodology.

The given paper is devoted to the evolution of the image of the Ship in classical literature by the example of two epic poems: “Argonautica” by Apollonius of Rhodes and “Odyssey” by Homer. The paper aims at defining the way of the image’s artistic transformation in the classical literature, revealing the characteristic features of its functioning in classic myths and literary works, and analyzing the birth of a new artistic hypostasis of the Ship – the Flying Dutchman. Methods of historical and culturological analysis as well as the method of comparative research make the likeness of the ancient Ship and the Old Testament Noah’s Ark evident, also proving that the image of the Ship as it existed in the antiquity later on served as a prototype of the Flying Dutchman of the Romanticism epoch. The analysis of the classical antiquity Ship by the example of classical poems by Apollonius of Rhodes and Homer makes it possible to get a clearer picture of the world Ship’s most popular artistic hypostasis – the Flying Dutchman.

Perception of reality is subjective, the intuitive component makes the choice of the decision an implicit process which is accompanied by a person’s motivation, as well as the creative attribute generated by the work of productive thinking. The paper synthesizes the views of such philosophers and psychologists as V. Frankl, W. Dilthey, B. Keller, D. Poja, V. Lektorsky, V. Asmus and other, examples of scientific creativity through intellectual intuition are provided. The paper helps to expand the understanding of the mechanism of solvingproblems in the space of uncertainty by intuition and subjective perception. The object of the paper is the person’s perception, the subject of the paper is the act of perception of reality on the basis of intuition by motivation and creativity. The paperprovides an idea about the elements of a situation of choice in the space of uncertainty to identify new elements of intuitive perception, as well as view the relations between these elements.

The paper analyses the development of Kemerovo region state arbitration bodies in the 1950s and the early 1960s. The author exploits archive materials and investigates into the measures taken to improve the work of these bodies. The paper points out substantial difficulties in the work of the arbitration bodies caused by low legal competence of the parties and harsh conditions that the arbitration specialists had to work under.

The paper presents the experience of 19th century parents and teachers’ collaboration in thefield of education. The paper shows that in many of the 19th century the collaboration gave great results. Due to teachers and parents’ cooperation, spiritually educated young people graduated from the institution to become the pride of the country. The author states that parents and teachers’ collaboration in 19th century schools was a vital requirement to provide a high level of children`s education.

The paper traces the formation of such a phenomenon as downshifting. That is a voluntary, not forced refusal from higher earnings and strenuous activities. The paper is aimed at a historical and sociological analysis of the phenomenon of downshifting as a new movement in a successful person’scareer. Based on this analysis, the author comes to the conclusion that the attention to the researched issues will reveal zones of heightened tension in the system of labour relations.

The paper investigates the social representations of ethnic features. The paper describes and comparatively analyzesthe image of persons of opposite sex of their nationality, revealed in Tuvan and Russian young women of early adulthood (aged 20 – 25 years).

The paper considers the problem of forming family values in the aspect of external factorsinfluence. A comparative sociological analysis of Novosibirsk students’ value sphere is presented. A sociological study, conducted in February 2013, addressed students of four Novosibirsk universities. The sample included 453 people. The quota type of the sample was used. The study employed the author’s research tools (questionnaires). The paper presents the data concerning two groups of respondents: Novosibirsk city residents and residents of other towns (rural areas). The influence of the circumstances of initial socialization on the youth’s values and mentality formation is analyzed. The study made it possible to formulate a number of original conclusions concerning the role of the territorial factor in the choice of the key of life strategy and in the process of mentality formation in various youth groups in general. The general trend of the student youth value formation, reflecting a high importance of traditional values, is revealed. At the same time, a significant difference in their life strategies is discovered. The youth, brought up in the urbanized social space, chooses the diachronic key of life strategy. The country youth, having moved to the city, chooses the synchronic key.

The paper raises the problem of measuring social distance in the relations between the authorities and the population. In this paper the practicability of using the hierarchies analysis method in measuring social distance in the political hierarchy of society is substantiated.

The paper is devoted to the erection of memorials at the mass graves of the Civil War victims in Tomsk and Novosibirsk in the 1920s – 1930s. The paper aims at describing the basic steps for creating these sites and determining the content of state memory policy, which was reflected in their symbolic decision. The paper paid attention to the history of revolution-military projects competitions in Novosibirsk and Tomsk; to the interpretation of their symbolism, associated with the cultural traditions of classicism and romanticism. Methodologically, the author relies on the theory, known in Western science as «memory studies». It is concluded, that the ideological values of these monuments gradually changed during the period between the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War.

The paper deals with the main characteristics of nonce-words that are considered basic in modern linguistics. The paper presents a comprehensive review of the nonce-words in the German press, their basic properties are analyzed, and criteria distinguishing them from conventional wordsare defined. The author states 5 criteria, which fall into principal and facultative.

The paper analyzes the views of V. A. Bogoroditsky and L. Weisgerber on the interconnection between native language investigation and perception of grammar system and mentality of other languages. The novelty of this article consists in comparison of the scientists’ideas about the methods of investigating the native language. The examination of methods of native language investigation allows to formulate the problematics of the grammar «polemics» of V. A. Bogoroditsky and L. Weisgerber. It has been established, that both V. A. Bogoroditsky and L. Weisgerber saw an immediate culture bearer in the language environment. The investigation of these linguistic conceptions is actual for a modern research of the semantic filling of the notion of «linguistic personality». The theoretical significance of the paper consists in the revealing the universal character of the methods, used in the study of the native language and the other ones. The results of comparison of the grammar conceptions will be anticipated by linguists when preparing courses of lectures and conducting special seminars on general linguistics, history of linguistics, lexicology and theory of cross-cultural communication.

The paper describes the current state of developing pedagogical mastership of vocational training masters in vocational colleges. The author ascertains their attitude towards development of this professional quality in career development system. Data cross–tabulation of the survey has discovered the existence of fundamental differences between men and women-masters of vocational training in terms of their own professional activity, as well in their own professional development. This determines the necessity of individual approach realization in the process of development of their pedagogical mastership in improvement of professional skills cycle. The paper displays the range of contradictions in improvement of professional skills in the system of master’s vocational training in vocational colleges connected with the development of their pedagogical mastership.

The aim of the study is the discovery of nomad properties in the narrative that semantically reflects stativity and permanence. The narrative «Home» is taken as such a concept. The paper reveals the content of the notion «Home» in sedentary culture. The author describes and analyses the processes of transformation of the narrative «Home» during the transition from modernity culture to the situation of postmodernity, accompanied by the loss of traditional functions of the Home. We study the notions of «Home» in existential and psychoanalytic philosophy. The concept of «Home» in the mythology and folklore of the national culture is taken into account. The author discusses the acquisition of new properties by the «Home» in postmodern, related to mobility and instability, singularity. Postmodern «Home» is a point of a route, which is contrary to the sedentary paradigm, not a place of peace and relaxation, but rather the moment of formation, the transition from the finite to the infinite. The main attention in the paper is given to the detecting nomadism in the ontological essence of the Home. The research results can be used in the study of the ontological, anthropological components of postmodern situation.

The paper deals with the features of selection of lexical and semantic means of forming semantic cohesion of the genre of résumé in the German and Russian linguistic cultures. Officially, résumé as a genre of business discourse is characterized by a certain thematic field formed around a specific thematic dominant. Particular attention is paid to the definition of the dominant thematic nomination of résumé, as well as to the identification of lexical units that form the subject field of the genre. Detection of the major thematic nominations is made with the help of computer program for linguistic analysis and processing of texts. The paper also presents the analysis of thematic nominations based on their discursive, stylistic, morphological and semantic characteristics. The analysis indicates the existence of different ways of updating the semantic values that characterize the features of professional and labour activity and forming the overall thematic genre field of résumé in the German and Russian linguistic cultures.

This paper provides an assessment of the regional venture capital funds, considers the problems of their development and suggests measures to resolve them.

The paper proves the relevance of studying the pedagogical potential of the multiethnic educational environment, arisen in the conditions of innovative transformations of the educational system to solve the new national, cultural and economic tasks. The conclusions received during research are based on the analysis of scientific works on this perspective, and also on the results of the research conducted by the author. The paper provides the definition of multiethnic educational environment, description of its structure, detailed representation of all its components (subjects, psychodidactic component, social component, spatial and subject component). Beside the structural components of the environment, the principles of its construction, scientific approaches and their interrelation and construction stages are presented. The paper presents the research carried out in the territory of Belovo area, research during which the pedagogical potential of the multiethnic educational environment was analyzed. During analytical research two groups of the organizational and pedagogical conditions promoting use of pedagogical potential of the multiethnic educational environment were developed.

The paper analyzes the materials implemented in the Kuzbass scientific project «Kuzbass philosophical readings». The history of emergence of professional philosophy in Kuzbass is discussed, so is the role of Departments of Philosophy at higher educational institutions in this process. The paper focuses mainly on the emergence and implementation of the scientific project «Kuzbass Philosophical Readings». The reasons of its emergence are shown. A chronological analysis of all the past seven Readings is provided. The social and scientific context for definingthe topic of each of the Readings is shown. The author analyses the contingent of the participants, its quantitative and qualitative changes. The contribution of the project’s participants to the analysis and resolution of the social problems facing the modern Russian society is defined.

The paper reveals the main directions of agrarian policy of tsarism in Turgay region from 1868 till 1917. The goals and objectives of the resettlement policy in the region, as well as the impact of these processes on the socio-economic development of the region are investigated. The agricultural processes in the Turgay region, the development of agriculture and cattle breeding are analyzed. The paper helps understand the character of development of agrarian relations in Western Kazakhstan in this period.

The paper discloses the main characteristics and features of the organization of social and educational work in higher school (the example of Kemerovo State University). The classification of the main types of social and educational work was developed; the main social and educational activities, their prevalence, magnitude and frequency are analyzed on the basis of the suggested classification. The paper reveals that the level of development of most types of social and educational work in Kemerovo State University is very high, but some areas in particular, vocational education, are underdeveloped. The level of students’ social protection and the frequency of the use of its measures at the federal, regional and institutional levels have been identified. The author discovered that the frequency of applying measures of social support lies within reasonable limits, while their size is insufficient. The absolute level of social payments and benefits is still small; in addition, their availability is limited in most cases by a defined framework of subsistencelevel. Direct and reverse connections between social and educational work and social protection of higher school students are identified.

The paper presents data of sociological surveys on political participation of citizens and political actors in contemporary Russia on the Internet. The data were obtained by interviewing experts in 4 subjects of the Russian Federation (Yaroslavl, Vologda, Ulyanovsk and Novosibirsk region) and the mass survey of Internet users in 15 regions of the Russian Federation, actively participating in political campaigns on the Internet. This gave a possibility to obtain both quantitative and qualitative assessments of political participation on the Internet.The author characterizes the main objects of political activity on the Internet. The study highlighted areas of political participation, most effectively realized by using the Internet. The paper analyzes the activity of the political opposition on the Internet.It is stated that the Internet users can be divided into two unequal groups: activists and consumers of information. The author points out a high proportion of professionals among activists in the Internet. The biggest proportion of customers are young people.

The object of analysis in the paper is AssessmentCentres (technologies) which open possibilities of raising work efficiency and which make a base for collecting information about an organization’s personnel. The paper focuses on different types of specialists’ qualifications assessment technologies.

The paper is devoted to the analysis of social resources as scientific problem. First of all, the author discusses various theoretical approaches to the phenomenon of social resource. Further, the author analyses the phenomenon of territorial space both as a social resource and an area for interconnectivity of different resources. The main aim is to interpret the features of social resources functioning in the context of socio-territorial space on the example of tourist sights, which is reflected in the results of case-study of a small Russian town. Finally, the paper systematizes the attributes and functions of social resources. The author argues that analysis of social space as a space of social resources is a topical way for development of the sphere of social dividends management.

The paper presents the results of a theoretical calculation of the phase velocity and attenuation coefficient for bubble liquid, reflection and refraction coefficients at normal and oblique incidence of the acoustic wave on the interface “water bubble water”, as well as the dependence of the angle of refraction on the frequency of perturbations and the angle of incidence. The analytical expressions and numerical calculations analysis revealed that in the case where the wave is incident from the bubble liquid on the interface, there is a critical angle of incidence to the low frequency domain, and at greater angles total internal reflection occurs. The paper shows that total internal reflection does not occur when the wave is incident from the water side on the interface.

The paper proves the necessity of determining the long-run reasons of inflation processes in Russia. The following step defines the set of factors, included in the research, having qualitative impact on the price level. Applying econometric methodology, qualitative and quantitative long-term connections between the considered indicators are revealed. The paper provides the example of the algorithm for the sequence of calculations automated by the author in the programming environment of a package of applied programmes. Further, a short review of the basic investigation phases of long-run dependence of the goods and services price level on the changes of various macroeconomic aggregated indicators at the federal and regional levels (the example of the Altai Kray) is given. In conclusion, the economic interpretation of research is provided and some suggestions for use of research results to control and regulate inflation processes at the federal and regional levels are made.

The paper addresses the interaction of scientific ands educational discourses at the lexical and semantical levels as far as communicative strategies are concerned. The semantical level is studied in detail, with mental performatives serving as the material of the study. The scientific and educational texts published by Kemerovo State University teaching staff in 2011 serve as the material for the paper.

The paper presents the main results on the development of scientific rationale and technological approaches to creating and developing a unified information environment of educational institutions. The received were received over a ten-year period in the research school under the guidance of the RF Government Prize winner, Professor K. E. Afanasyev. The paper addresses the common approaches and technological solutions for integrating information systems and resources based on electronic documents and service-oriented architecture. The concept of the electronic document was expanded, a system of electronic document with advanced features was created. Astandards profile, taking into account all the stages of developing information environment, was built. The basic and specific software components,providing a unified information environment based on an integrated analysis of information system management of the educational institution, were developed and introduced in Kemerovo State University and its branches.

The paper presents several facets of the problem providing a legislative framework for and exercise of constitutional responsibility of the state to protect human rights in the present-day national law. The influence of a particular society and state peculiarities on the implementation of international obligations with the respect to the protection of human rights and freedoms is studied herein. The author of the paper believes that effective protection of human rights and freedoms is unfeasible without deep interaction between international and national law, and without taking into consideration ratio decidendi of the European Court of Human Rights when Russian Federation legislation is applied.

The paper is devoted to the practice of fostering orphaned children in Russia at different stages of historical development. The paper addresses a brief description of the history of charity in Russia, several stages of the studied institution’s formation are discussed, each adding certain characteristics. The study of the genesis of foster care is based on careful consideration of the specific social and cultural situation in each studied period of Russian history. This approach allows us to establish a link between theory and history. The development of the foster family, and maximizing the potential of this form of education are not possible without its deep and comprehensive analysis.

The problems of formation and development of Kemerovo center of International Association for Institutional Studies are pointed out in the paper. Kemerovo center of International Association for Institutional Studies is the base for the research school of institutional regionalistics. The specificity of the scientific approachwhich deals with complex analysis of institutional systems that are formed in the post-soviet economy of Russia is highlighted. The main scientific achievements of the team members are pointed out in the paper. Some researches, conducted by the members of the scientific school, were supported by 18 grants of various foundations. Amid them are the following: 5 grants from Russian Foundation for Humanities, 4 grants from Russian Foundation for Basic Research, 1 grant from Targeted Federal Programme. The most significant scientific results were reported in the leading Russian journals: «Voprosy Economiki», «Social Sciences and Modernity», «Sociological Studies», «Terra Economicus», «Man and Labor», and others. Some theoretical conceptselaborated by the members of research team, are the reason of great scientific interest of journals and readers, namely: deformalization of business and authorities interplay, political-bureaucratic market, social capital in business and authorities interplay, quasi developmental institutions, quasi public-private partnership, political resources of a firm. Within the International Association for Institutional Studies, theresearchteam maintains firm scientific links with researchers from Moscow State University, National Research University-Higher School of Economics, Donetsk National Technical University (Ukraine), South Federal University, Siberian Federal University, Novosibirsk State Technical University, Tomsk State University, Omsk State University, Altai State Technical University.

Numerical simulations were performed with boundary element method, the experimental data were obtained in the Laboratory of Hydrowave Equipment (Branch of OAO “26th Central Research Institute” (St. Petersburg)). The paper presents the results of comparing experimental and numerical modeling of the transformation of single waves on a flat slope. The resulting model of the wavemaker will be used to study the interaction between waves surface and onshore facilities with meshless numerical methods, as an alternative to costly laboratory experiments.

The paper addresses the reflection of the underground socialist movement in the early 20th century Siberia in thedocuments that survived in the archives of the Volga region. The importance of the Volga region’s archives documenta-tion for the integral study of the Siberian socialist underground is revealed. The historical documents analysed in the paper are introduced into scientific use for the first time.

The paper focuses on the identification of cultural meanings of somatic code items in English and Russian linguistic pictures of the world. The body herein is regarded as a model for processes of cognition and linguistic structuring of the world. The purpose of the paper is to determine correlation between universal knowledge of the body and culturally significant associations caused by conceptual mappings from mental domain “body” to mental domains of the outside world. The study has been conducted according to the conceptual research procedure elaborated in Kemerovo scientific school under the supervision of Prof. M. V. Pimenova.

The paper introduces 9 Qipcaq statues (middle 9th – early 13th centuries) newly found in Sary-Arka (Kazakh low mountain land), 6 of them having been found as parts of ritual structures, ‘sanctuaries’. Iconographic features of the published statues are analyzed; similarities between Qipcaq and Polovtsian statues, which are relevant for solving the problem of Polovtsian sculpture origins, are revealed. Besides, the paper raises the question of natural factors forcing the statues upwards, in particular, the force of frost heave.

The paper discusses the nature cults of the Tuvans living in Tyva Republic, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China and Kobdos aimak of Mongolia in the comparative aspect. The special attention is paid to the various ceremonies and the customs connected with nature cults which are observed and in modern time. The paper shows that at the present stage the nature cults are experiencing some changes.

The paper presents the results of the study of students' motivation in the sphere of physical culture and sports, in particular in sports activities, physical education, physical recreation, health activities. The paper reflects the dynamics in the structure of motivating higher educational institutions students for health activities over the past 18 years, as re vealed by the example of Kemerovo State University.
