PROVENANCE of art , *AESTHETICS of art , *PHENOMENOLOGY , *RECIPROCITY (Psychology) , *TRANSLATORS , *AESTHETICS - Abstract
In this essay, I first aim to pinpoint the factors that have historically marginalized art within anthropological thought. I propose that this marginalization stems from two main influences: the aesthetic conception of art and the metaphysical underpinnings of the social sciences, which suggest that art must be understood through theoretical frameworks. Drawing on phenomenology and following Heidegger's seminal essay The Origin of the Work of Art, I assert that art's role in establishing and navigating the metaphysical coordinates of a community, guiding its historical course, should be central to anthropological inquiry. I argue thus for an anthropological approach to art that prioritizes its ontological potentiality, thereby enabling us to appreciate the generative aspects of what we call society and culture. This approach invites a dialogical engagement with the world's great artworks, fostering a relationship marked by interpretive reciprocity among the works, their creators, and interpreters. This article explores the evolution of symbolic patterns in wine vessel art patterns during the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties, from the perspective of historical development, through literature review and pattern comparison. By analyzing the characteristics and cultural origins of symbolic patterns, inspiration has been provided for modern design. The results indicate that, influenced by aesthetic concepts and dominant ideas, the artistic patterns of wine vessels mainly include animal patterns, geometric patterns and natural patterns. The patterns from different dynasties reflect the changes in social systems, religious beliefs and aesthetic concepts, reflecting the spirit of our ancestors’ pursuit of beauty and reverence for order in daily life. The conclusion indicates that the artistic patterns of wine vessels, during the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties, were not only decorative, but also carriers of culture and philosophy. Analyzing the symbolic meanings, behind patterns, cultural concepts and social changes, can enrich our understanding of the development of ancient art and promote the development of traditional culture.

Aesthetics ,Emptiness ,Formal philosophy ,Chinese paintings ,Eastern art ,Western art ,Philosophy (General) ,B1-5802 - Abstract
In the field of art, the contrast between reality and virtuality is a common technique of expression. In order to comprehensively explain the essence of beauty and enrich the aesthetic concept of art, this article compares and analyzes the concepts of “emptiness” and “reality” in Chinese and Western art from the perspectives of the blank space in Chinese painting and the formal philosophy of Western art. It explores the different understandings and approaches to space, blank space and form under two different art systems. Chinese art emphasizes the importance of emptiness and artistic conception, reflecting the emphasis on wholeness and intrinsic meaning. Western art, on the other hand, expresses concern for the relationship between individuals and the external world through the pursuit of rationality and realism. This comparison reveals the profound influence of different aesthetic traditions on social thought and aesthetic views. By reflecting on and understanding the aesthetics of reality and virtuality in different cultural backgrounds, it helps to enrich individual aesthetic experiences and promote social development.

This article aims to verify the applicability of the concept of attitude in the analysis of literary texts. In the first part, it recovers some aspects of the theoretical discussion about this concept, trying to identify possible links to the practice of representation in literature. In the second part, it seeks to illustrate some of its potentials as an analytical tool, discussing Irena Brežná's novel Die undankbare Fremde (The thankless foreigner) published in 2012. The article concludes that the concept can serve as a starting point for the discussion of meaning dynamics, perception clashes and interpretation practices, thus contributing to the identification of aesthetic potentials of the literary text. SKIN care , *PREBIOTICS , *SKIN examination , *MILK consumption , *HEIGHT measurement , *LONGITUDINAL method - Abstract
Introduction: Currently, there is a great emphasis on aesthetic procedures in the treatment of dermatological disorders. However, to achieve satisfactory results, it is crucial to adopt a multidisciplinary approach, since the causes of these disorders go beyond localized changes in the skin and can involve other parts of the body, such as the intestine. Objective: Knowing the importance of food in intestinal and skin health, through the intestine skin axis, this study seeks to relate intestinal dysbiosis, with a diet poor in prebiotics and probiotics, with dermatological disorders in women who sought aesthetic care. Materials and Methods: This is a cross-sectional study, with 20 women attending an aesthetic clinic in Francisco Beltrão - PR, Brazil. An aesthetic anamnesis was performed to assess skin care habits and visual examination of the skin, a metabolic tracking questionnaire, a Bristol fecal scale, a food frequency questionnaire, and weight and height measurements were also applied. Results: It was possible to observe that the consumption of pre and probiotics in most of the listed foods was not adequate and that the consumption of whole milk and the non-consumption of beans may be associated with the presence of skin sensitivity. Conclusion: Further studies are suggested, especially longitudinal and intervention studies, to elucidate the issues raised in this research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

EARLY childhood education , *SURREALISM , *VALUES (Ethics) , *CHILDREN'S art , *AESTHETICS , *IMAGINATION - Abstract
This work analyzes how Surrealism as an ethical, aesthetic, and political proposal can contribute to rethinking teaching practice in Early Childhood Education. This problem consists of “How can Surrealism broaden the understanding of teaching practices in Early Childhood Education, from the perspective of Walter Benjamin?”. A question arises given the need to think about an educational practice with children that allows creativity, freedom, and imagination. The central objective of this work is to investigate the possible relationship between Surrealism and Early Childhood Education, emphasizing the role of education and the concept of childhood from the perspective of Walter Benjamin, to broaden the understanding of teaching practices in Early Childhood Education. For this, bibliographical research was used. The analyses demonstrate that the ethical, aesthetic, and political proposals of Surrealism are close to childhood and can provide a teaching practice in Early Childhood Education that values imagination, playfulness, creativity and the importance of building collective history. WORLD War I , *POETRY (Literary form) , *AESTHETICS , *POETS , *AUTHORS - Abstract
Jules Supervielle (1884-1960) had a life marked by movements between Europe and South America. Born in Montevideo and living in Paris since 1894, he witnessed up close major events in different areas, such as the artistic avant-garde, rapid technological evolution and the First World War. He developed his poetic voice in this context shared with Guillaume Apollinaire (1880-1918), André Breton (1896-1966), Louis Aragon (1897-1982), among other writers. In 1924, when Breton published the Manifesto of Surrealism, Supervielle was about to release one of his most important poetry books. In this article, we propose to analyze how this French-Uruguayan poet, through testimonies and theoretical reflections, seeks to individualize himself in relation to the surrealist aesthetic, established with great influence from the first manifesto onwards. We will also explore, in addition to divergences, at which points they would converge, and why such approximations would be possible. With this approach, we intend, in addition to studying the poetics of Jules Supervielle, to contribute to the understanding of the complexity of surrealism, exploring its diffusion and reception in the artistic world since its emergence. TWENTIETH century , *GROTESQUE , *LIMINALITY , *AESTHETICS , *ARTISTS - Abstract
The Portuguese surrealists were inquisitive observers of the artistic proposals of the French surrealist movement and absorbed the main principles of surrealist aesthetics mainly in the 40s and 50s of the 20th century. This study aims to show how Portuguese artists created their own aesthetic specificities, despite the culturally conservative context of Salazar’s totalitarian regime, which limited their creative freedom. Attention will be paid to the different strategies used by Portuguese surrealists to configure their productions, which were supported by the attention given to the ‘real everyday life’, by the use of the grotesque, and also by their play with liminality. It will be described how these modalities design a “poetics of ligature”, under which the surrealists constructed their works of art. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

STORY plots , *ARCHIPELAGOES , *INSOMNIA , *MEMORY , *AESTHETICS - Abstract
The Angel of History thesis, which encourages us to think about the dispersion of ruins, presents a central configuration for understanding historical time. The allegorical meaning of the Angelus Novus, referred to by Benjamin, is continually enacted in the contemporary Portuguese-language novel, of fidelity when looking at the past, understood, as Ricoeur states as a device for (un)happy memory, which is activated as the characters are unable to forget past events, repeated in their memories. From this perspective, although Milton Hatoum and António Lobo Antunes present very different aesthetic characteristics in the narrative composition of their plots, we understand that numerous elements can bring authors closer, especially in aspects relating to the hermeneutic elaboration of memory that is projected onto historical ruins, continually recalled by the characters that inhabit the fictional space. Thus, we set out to bring together, in the novels Tale of a Certain Orient (1989) and The Archipelago of Insomnia (2008), the relationship between the space of the house and the memorial rubble that survives from the ruins of the past. The text presents a reflection on the literary work Dois meninos na Transamazônica, by the writer Margarida Ottoni (1973). The aim is to analyze the appropriation of a narrative of conquest that permeated state initiatives in the Amazon from the twentieth century, specifically about the idea of a national integration of the region. For its achievement, in the terms of Benjamin (2009), it was important to pursue the "residues" of history, with the consultation of various historical and literary sources. In this discussion, it was observed in the literary work the proposition of an aesthetic, in the context of a literary production about the Amazon. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

CHRISTIAN art & symbolism , *NINETEENTH century , *WORLDVIEW , *CHRISTIANITY , *REALISM , *AESTHETICS , *MATERIALISM - Abstract
The paper analyses the conception of Art and Christianity in the essay The Aesthetic Relations of Art to Reality [Esteticheskiye otnosheniya iskusstva k deystvitel’nosti (1855)] and in the novel What is to Be Done [Chto delat’?(1862)], by Chernyshevsky. I argue that Chernishevsky’s reception of German philosophical materialism, especially Feuerbach and David Strauss, provided the foundations for his realism and for his materialistic reformulation of Christianity. As a typical seminarist confronting modern ideas, Chernishevsky found in Feuerbach’s and David Strauss’s thought a horizon of perpetuation of his religious instinct and became a propagator of scientific materialism that moved the controversies about religion, art, and revolution in the second half of the nineteenth century. I further argue that the weltanschauung that structured his essay on Art is at the root of the aesthetic and religious procedure we find in his novel. Interpreted as the expression of a materialist subversion of Christianity, What is to Be Done was conceived and elaborated to be read as a new gospel and was received, in the Russian revolutionary imaginary, as a religious pamphlet that determined the discussions about art, religion and revolution. AESTHETICS education , *POPES , *PRAGMATISM , *AESTHETICS , *CULTURE , *CRISES - Abstract
Laudato si’ points to the crisis of a civilizing paradigm, which can also be seen in a certain disappearance of aesthetic sensitivity, and thus indicates the relationship between an appropriate aesthetic education and the preservation of the environment in order to resist a contemporary utilitarian pragmatism. This paper aims to explore the elements contained in the social encyclical and in the perspective of Pope Francis that can corroborate a theological aesthetics of the Common Home. In particular, these elements relate to a notion of interconnectedness with all things and their intercultural and ethical consequences, respectively in the culture of encounter and the culture of care. AESTHETICS , *HOPE - Abstract
This study focuses, in a theoretical dimension, on the process of perception as a way of reading, capturing and signifying, based on contact with intermedia configurations. The valorization of experience, which here is not restricted to its aesthetic character, helps us to rethink the relational reading of the media in its synaesthetic dimension. Synaesthesia is approached as a reading experience to overcome the incorporeality of the image in a digital context. As understood here, the experience is not reduced to the personal or the impersonal and thus deconstructs both the strict limits of the subject's uniqueness and the determinations of some collective entity. The theoretical-methodological procedures that underpin this proposal are Intermediality, with an emphasis on Bruhn's medialities (2020) and Elleström's modalities (2021). We hope that, by focusing more on the subtle processes of perception than on the resultant immediacy, this reflection will offer keys to a relational reading of the media in the context of post-pandemic transformations and silencing.
