Throughout this article, the role of myths as part of organizational culture is emphasized. Myths, similarly to cultures, diverge according to the type of organization. In the paper, opposing types of organizations are distinguished on the basis of their attitude to power and to environmental issues. The objective of this article is to analyze the core myths exploited in organizations for motivational purposes in order to identify the conditions for their positive or negative impact on both organizational efficiency and employee wellbeing. The paper deals how to define relations between guests and organizational culture in museum. Guest books are lectured at temporary exhibitions presented at the Museum of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, from the half of 20th Century up today. They are the source of analysis of the characteristics of the relationship between the museum and visitors as well as the review of opinions and assessments when receiving the exhibition. The exhibition is a product of the museum's organizational culture. The culture is the process and state that determines the hierarchy of values and activities, it decides about the identity of employees, as well as about the convictions the institution about itself. Statements about the museum and exhibitions, recorded in guest books, reflect the characteristics of organizational culture and they signal various ways of self-identification of the recipients of the exhibition. Contact is understood here as a state of compliance of the museum's mission and strategy as well as the intentions and goals of the visitor. Analysis of entries due to content will allow to find answers to the following questions: What are the symptoms of connecting the visitor to the museum? Which elements of the museum's organizational culture are distinguished by the visitor? What are the characteristics of the space of "contact"? [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The subject of responsibility has lately become very important in the context of the economic crisis. In economy, it took the form of social responsibility. It concerns activities additionally undertaken by organizations in order to establish correct relations with their employees and society, as well as with regard to the natural environment. Therefore, a very important role is played by the ethos of the undertaken socially responsible actions. To a large extent it is reflected in the ethical dimension. Thus, in enterprises, codes of ethics have become a base of axiology in building of the organization cultures. Adam Noga, in his review of the theory of entrepreneurship, distinguishes 24 different types of goals which make entrepreneurs establish, run and develop their enterprises. He emphasizes that the maximization of profits, sales volume, satisfactory profits, flow and value were the goals enterprises strived for until the 1970's. However, entrepreneurship, according to Noga, consists of discovering new targets and objectives which accompany the process of enterprise creation and development, including the growth in the usefulness of human, intellectual and social assets. In order to meet such expectations, appropriate social and organizational conditions need to be ensured. One of these essential conditions is a suitable organizational culture, to a large extent depending on the owners and top rank managers, which confirms that, today, growth is determined by social capital, human capital, management and organizational culture. This subject is important both from the scientific and practical point of view. It shows that when it comes to management, economy lacks knowledge concerning the cultural context, as well as knowledge related to the assessment of social welfare, in which too little attention is paid to the qualitative elements of social and economic development. The aim of this paper is to answer the question whether an organizational culture which facilitates undertaking non-business activities exists. In order to answer this question, the notions of non-business activities and organizational culture have been defined. Characteristic features of an organizational culture have been presented and the culture which theoretically facilitates undertaking non-business activities has been indicated. In the empirical part, the theoretical assumptions have been verified and an organizational culture which attempts to achieve not only business goals has been identified. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present paper focuses on influences of radical corporate changes (downsizing, out-sourcing, reengineering, mergers ) on organizational culture. Contrary to the prevailing view that such a change is beneficial for organizational culture, the author accepts the view expressed by T. Deal and A. Kennedy in their book The New Corporate Cultures that listed practices and strategies of management have destructive impact on the social fabrics of life in organizations. Data reported by quoted authors are supplemented with research findings based on a case study conducted in restructured state-owned Polish company. The process of restructuring, usually accompanied with massive employment reduction, causes lost of significance of the organizational power structure and atomizes social relations within a company. Such conditions increase an organization's propensity for a syndrome of traits which can be labeled as "cult". Cult means deformation of organizational culture, undermining the agency of participants. Both Western and Polish experiences of radical organizational change justify the need of reflection on the condition of the contemporary enterprise and on the programs of its revitalization - two of such programs are discussed in the paper. Among the significant determinants influencing the corporate culture is the degree of riskiness in the operational activities of a company. Firstly and most importantly, business entities must be prepared to respond quickly to the needs of an external as well as the internal environment, to be in close relationship with customers, to use internal business activities, to strive to build the desired way of behaviour and actions of all stakeholders. The paper aims to define possible risks of ethical credibility based on the analysis and research in selected production companies operating in Slovakia and then propose options, measures to eliminate the threats to ethical credibility and thus increase the credibility and reliability of manufacturing companies.

The aim of the article is to show organisational culture of social enterprises, particularly – cooperative enterprises, compared with organisational cultures of commercial companies. The research methodology was based on a comparative analysis of reports on the activities of the management board of cooperatives and companies representing selected industries. The study was qualitative in nature. The data from the portal from the Ministry of Justice of the National Court Register www.ekrs.ms.gov. pl and the e-Reports application of the Ministry of Finance were used. The research results confirm the different profiles of organizational cultures of social and commercial enterprises operating in Poland. Organisational culture of social enterprises is more social relations oriented, while organisational cultures of commercial enterprises are more task oriented. The values that make it possible to draw such a conclusion are revealed in the analysis of reports of the surveyed groups of enterprises. In reports of cooperatives, the values represented by cooperative members are prevailing, while the reports of commercial enterprises were dominated by values recognized primarily by the management board.
