We investigated the limestone body in Mikkabi, Hamamatsu, central Japan, one of the limestone bodies in the Chichibu Belt. It is widely known that the limestone body here contains very few fossils. Detailed information on the deposition age of the body is still limited, although the deposition age was determined as the Early Permian by fusulinid biostratigraphy. In this study, we intended to find conodonts from the limestone body and to confirm the deposition age by conodonts. From five block samples of the limestone body, we extracted intact and fragmented conodonts and at least three species were determined by comparison with previous studie--Mesogondolella dentiseparata (middle–late Asselian), Mesogondolella sp., Neogondolella sp. (late Carboniferous–late Triassic), and Streptognathodus sp. (late Carboniferous–Artinskian). Our results suggest that the limestone body in the Mikkabi area was at least partly deposited in the middle–late Asselian.

We, the members of the Division for Chronological Research at the Institute for Space-Earth Environmental Research at Nagoya University, held a regional contribution program for the higher grade elementary school students on August 7-8, 2018: “Let’s study geology in Tono region”. The thirty-six students took part in the program to experience earth sciences. The first day they travelled to Mizunami, Gifu by bus and visited the Hesoyama geological site to observe Miocene fossils and sediments in Mizunami group, Science World (Gifu tip technology experience center) to experience scientific experiments and science show, Mizunami Fossil Museum to observe exhibitions of fossils, and Mizunami Earth Corridor to experience the evolution of the Earth. After then, they went to the Matsugase field education site along Toki river to collect fossils such as mollusks, crabs, fishes, mammals, and plants. We successfully made a meaningful field program. The second day began with two lectures on geology and rocks in Tono region by Professor Enami and on Mizunami fossils by Lecturer Hayashi. After the lectures, the students took part in a hands-on experiment of making fossil replica. In the afternoon, they discussed about what was learned during this experiential learning program and summarized it in posters. Finally, they made poster presentation by groups. The program ended a success. The post-program questionnaire shows that the participants enjoyed the program a lot and learned many new things., 宇宙地球環境研究所は，環境学研究科地球環境科学専攻地質・生物学講座の林誠司講師の協力のもと，平成30年8月7日（木）と8日（金）の2日間にわたり，小学高学年生36名を対象とした夏休み体験学習「東濃地方の地層について学ぼう」を行った．初日は，大型バスをチャーターして岐阜県瑞浪市に出向き，瑞浪の地層観察，岐阜県先端技術体験センターサイエンスワールド，瑞浪市化石博物館，地球回廊の見学，そして最後に土岐川の松ヶ瀬河原で化石採集を行った．2日目は，名古屋大学研究所共同館Ⅱにおいて，野外実習での経験や学んだ知識を深めるため，講義，室内実習，子どもたちによる発表会を行った．子ども達が教室での講義だけでは得られ難い実体験の機会は，子どもたちの科学への興味や関心をより高めるきっかけになり，本体験学習の目的は十分達成できたと考えられる．

A large amount of radiocesium was released from the accident at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant of Tokyo Electric Power Company. The determination of dissolved and particulate radiocesium concentrations in water is important, which can be used as basic information for understanding the long-term radiocesium dynamics in the environment and the transfer of radiocesium to crops. Conventional quantitative methods include the evaporative concentration to the dryness method and the AMP method. These methods need to concentrate about 20–200 L of water due to the low concentration of the dissolved radiocesium. After the accident, several new methods, such as the Prussian blue filter cartridge method and the solid-phase disk method, have been developed and put to practical use. In this study, we carried out an accuracy evaluation test to assess five methods (i.e., the evaporative concentration to dryness method, the AMP method, the Prussian blue filter cartridge method, the solid-phase disk method, and the ion-change resin method) using 3 types of water samples containing 0.01-1.0 Bq L−1 of dissolved radiocesium. Our results showed that the z-scores of over 80 % of the measured data were within ±2 and their CVs in the range of 8-13 %, indicating good reproducibility of these methods.

2011年3月11日の東日本大震災に伴う福島第一原子力発電所の事故以降、福島環境安全センターでは、福島の環境回復に向けた取組みとして、事故により環境中に放出された放射性物質のうち特に放射性セシウムの分布状況を評価し将来予測を行うとともに、森林から河川水系を経て海洋に至る環境や我々の生活圏での放射性セシウムの移動状況に係る調査研究「環境動態研究」に取り組んでいる。この度、最新の成果をとりまとめるとともに他機関の関連する最新の成果も参照しまとめたことから、研究成果報告書類として報告する。なお、本成果は、外部への情報発信の一つである福島部門ウェブサイトにおけるQAページを、根拠情報となる科学的知見を含め「根拠に基づく情報発信」として更新するにあたり、コンテンツとして活用されるものである。, Since the accidents at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant following the Tohoku Region Pacific Coast Earthquake on March 11th, 2011, Fukushima Environmental Safety Center has carried out research on natural mobilization of radionuclide (especially radiocesium) and future forecast from forest to water system and surrounding residential areas. The report summarizes the latest results that have been accumulated from each study field, of our agency together with the other related research organizations. The contents of the report is to be used as evidence-based information for the QA-styled pages in the website of JAEA Sector of Fukushima Research and Development at the time of next renewal.

京都産業大学は、2001年に本学独自のインターンシップを開始し、日本型コーオプ教育（産学協働教育）へと展開してきた。京都産業大学における日本型コーオプ教育（産学協働教育）がどのように構築・展開されたのかについて、この10年間を振り返ると共に、これからの学士課程教育における位置づけや方向性および今後の課題に関して、インターンシップ開始当時の初期メンバーによる座談会1）を開催した。本稿は、この座談会において振り返った、本学の教育文化に根差した本学独自の産学協働教育による「学生の体験に基づいた主体的な学び」の育成についても、特筆すべき点を取りまとめた。今後の京都産業大学内外におけるコーオプ教育2）の実践者の自己研鑽・実践・研究の一助となれば幸いである。

The shallow sea floor off Takashima, Matsuura, Nagasaki Prefecture， has been investigates archeologically as a potential site where many Mongolian warships exist under the sea sediments. It is historically recorded that more than 4000 Mongolian warships were destroyed by a typhoon during the Mongol invasion to Japan in 1281. The underwater investigations have been performed since 1980, and a lot of archeological remains related with the invasion have been collected there. In 2006, we were allowed to get some archeological remains for 14C dating with AMS. The samples were fragments of palm-bark ropes，lacquer products, bamboo ropes and charred rice. 14C ages for the samples were all consistent with the age of Mongol invasion in 1281. Recently a body of submerged wrecks most probably originated from Mongolian warship has been discovered in the 1m-deep horizon of the sea sediment off Takashima. During the survey of the new warship, shell samples were collected near the ship. Some shells were recognized to be hull-fouling species, which may have grown up on bottom of Mongolian warship and preserved along with thew broken ship in the sea sediment. We have conducted 14C dating for some shell samples and found out that shells belong to hull-fouling species showed 14C ages consistent with the time of Mongol Inversion. Molluscan shells associated with the Mongolian sunken warship is briefly documented. Species co-occurred in its surrounding sediments include upper sublittoral sand to sandy mud dwellers, reflecting oceanographic setting of off Takashima island. Shells encrusted to hull wreckage are of typical rocky inshore species, i. e. hull-fouling species, however, some of these seem like to have attached to the wreckage after the ship sunk. A substantial number of boring trace by shipworm was recognized in the shelled wreckage. Surface sediments would protect the sunken ship from extensive destruction by wood-boring organisms., 本稿は元寇沈没船にともなって採取された貝類についての報告である.沈没船周辺から得られた員類は,上部浅海帯の砂底から砂泥底に棲む種であり,鷹島沖の海況をよく反映した種構成であった.船体片に付着していた貝類は,典型的な内湾岩礁性種であり,それらは船体汚損種でもある.しかしながらその一部は,沈没後に付着したようである.船体片には多くのフナクイムシ類による穿孔痕が認められた.本船は堆積物に覆われることによって,木材穿孔生物による甚大な食害から保護されたのかもしれない., 名古屋大学年代測定総合研究センターシンポジウム報告
