La richiesta del committente Delta Bois è stata di valutare se il legno di Pino laricio, Pinus nigra varietà laricio di origine corsa, trattato con calce spenta, è protetto dai funghi della carie del legno quando utilizzato in classe d'uso 3 secondo la EN 335. Il committente ha fornito una camera di impregnazione da lui progettata dove il legno, precedentemente essiccato, è immerso in una soluzione di calce spenta e tenuto sotto agitazione per evitare il deposito della calce in sospensione. La prova di durabilità naturale del pino laricio non trattato e della durabilità conferita del pino laricio trattato con calce spenta è stata effettuata in accordo alla normativa europea CEN TS 15083-1 (2005) Durability of wood and wood-based products Determination of the natural durability of solid wood against wooddestroying fungi, test methods. The accelerate test was chosen for obtaining a fast information (only 8 weeks with respect to 16 weeks in the standard European test) on the resistance of wood specimens treated with a different guayule resins, and 89/47/2b diluted in ethanol and applied by immersion. It means that the miniblocks, treated with a surface method and without sealing of the end grains were put in contact with a pure mycelium of two different specified fungi species and strains, a brown rot Coniophora puteana and a white rot T. versicolor. These fungal strains were certified for determining the effectiveness of wood preservatives and for testing the natural durability of wood in Europe according to CEN CT 38 (Durability of wood and wood based products) standards. Further as reference product was utilized the registered antifungal Renner product applied by immersion. All the fungal laboratory tests give information on the use of wood in contact with ground and so the results necessity of being interpreted only from persons skilled on the topic otherwise the meaning could be misunderstood.

Oleadb: un database mondiale per la gestione delle risorse genetiche dell'olivo (olea europaea L.) Oleadb: a worldwide database for the management of genetic resources of olive (olea europaea L.) Riassunto È descritta la banca dati mondiale dell'olivo; questa è stata ottenuta utilizzando le informazioni di oltre 1800 pubblicazioni degli ultimi due secoli provenienti da tutto il mondo. La banca dati conserva le informazioni di 1626 cultivar con 3912 sinonimi, conservate in 102 collezioni distribuite in tutto il mondo olivicolo. È inoltre inserita una lista delle accessioni solo citate, 1935, spesso con l'aggiunta di qualche carattere. Il primo obiettivo è stato quello di stabilire il vero nome della cultivar, facendo ordine nella confusione tra i nomi utilizzati per le cultivar e i loro sinonimi. A seguire sono considerati i problemi della valutazione dei caratteri con il contributo offerto dai marcatori molecolari. Una particolare attenzione è stata dedicata alla " ricostruzione " delle collezioni in tutto il mondo, fornendo il nome delle accessioni conservate e i loro indirizzi. La banca dati è costantemente corretta e aggiornata. Abstract A worldwide olive database is described, using the information on more than 1550 papers of the last two centuries, published in all the world. The database provides information of 1,626 cultivars and 3912 synonyms, preserved in 102 field collections distributed in different countries. It also includes a list of accessions (over 1935) which are sporadically mentioned and described with only few characters. The first objective is to establish the real name of each cultivar, resolving the confusion between names and synonyms of cultivars. Afterwards, the problem of the character evaluation is discussed, also taking into consideration the valuable contribution coming from molecular markers. Particular attention was dedicated to the "reconstruction" of field collections established in different countries, providing their addresses and the names of the preserved accessions. La voce viene comunemente considerata uno dei caratteri sessuali secondari dell’essere umano, differenziata fra maschio e femmina. Eppure proprio la voce, con le sue mille sfumature di grigio fra i toni spiccatamente maschili e femminili, sembra offrirsi come una metafora della parcellizzazione dei generi sessuali sempre più evidente nella società contemporanea. Le mutazioni timbriche della voce non seguono necessariamente di pari passo quelle del corpo, al punto che non è impossibile imbattersi in una voce prettamente virile proferita da un corpo effeminato. Ma il timbro della voce è a sua volta malleabile, soggetto a modifiche temporanee o permanenti, procurate attraverso la chirurgia, la farmacologia o la semplice educazione dell’organo laringeo. Di tanta versatilità ha approfittato anche l’arte, che nel corso della storia ha fatto spesso uso di forme di canto al confine di genere.
