When designing data-driven web applications, users’ informative needs are aligned to knowledge organization (KO) requirements, which are secondly mapped to user interfaces (UI) components, and finally to user experience (UX) journeys. Particularly, when data are served as Linked Open Data, data and user requirements can be associated with competency questions that an ontology should address. However, to the best of our knowledge, there is no full-fledged methodology that systematically adopts ontology requirements to design UI components and UX journeys. In this article we propose a methodology to design web applications for information seeking purposes that leverages well-known ontology design methodologies and UI/UX approaches. We present a case study based on music heritage and we evaluate it via a user study.

Introduction: Aging has significant economic and social implications leading to an increase in chronic diseases and reduced autonomy of the elderly. Sleep disorders are common in the elderly, manifesting reduced sleep quality. Objective/Purpose: The study aimed to measure the prevalence of sleep disorders in older adults and assess sex differences in sleep quality and sleep problems. Method: A cross-sectional study based on an online survey was performed according to the STROBE checklist, using pre-validated questionnaires (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index) distributed to a sample of older adults. This is the first study evaluating sex differences in sleep quality and problems in the Italian population context using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index assessment tool. The study was conducted in a university hospital in Rome from October 2020 to November 2020, on patients aged >65 years, independent in activities of daily living, with comorbidities and on treatment with up to 2 medications. Results: 59 patients were included in the study, with an average age of 71.12 years. The results show that among males, the prevalence of poor sleep quality was 51.9%, while among females, the prevalence of poor sleep quality was 62.5%. According to Shapiro-Wilk, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index was not normally distributed. Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index total scores in males did not differ significantly from females. Conclusions: Considering scientific literature, recent studies have highlighted the prevalence of sleep disorders in the elderly population and their underreporting. Providing early intervention not only improves the sleep quality of these people but may also reduce the risk of experiencing adverse health outcomes and susceptibility to frailty.

Lors de la taille, le maintien d’un chicot est une pratique maintenant largement répandue dans les vignobles, mais une question subsiste quant à la période de « retaille » de cette zone de bois mort. Peut-elle être supprimée l’année suivant la taille ? Doit-on attendre un cycle complet ? Est-ce que la vitesse de dessèchement est régulière en fonction des années, des cépages… ? Autant de questions à ce jour qui rendent difficile la mise en place de consignes claires pour le vigneron.L’objectif de l’étude menée dans cette partie est d’appréhender la cinétique de cicatrisation à 4 et 8 mois après la taille des tissus du bois du chicot après une taille vertueuse et d’étudier l’effet du cépage, de l’âge de la plante et du millésime afin de proposer les consignes de taille les plus appropriées au respect du fonctionnement de la plante.

Alors que la taille est une pratique ancestrale et obligatoire pour la gestion du rendement et pour garder le plus longtemps possible la vigne en production, de nombreuses questions restent en suspens quant à son rôle sur la physiologie de la vigne, notamment en ce qui concerne la formation du cône de dessèchement qui est la résultante de la plaie de taille. Les tailles dites « respectueuses des flux de sèves » préconisent de ne pas tailler ras et de laisser un « chicot » c’est-à-dire une zone de bois entre la coupe et la base du rameau supprimé. Dans la pratique il est généralement admis que la longueur de ce bois doit être équivalente à son diamètre car la profondeur de la nécrose correspondrait au diamètre de la plaie de taille et qu’il peut être supprimé l’année suivante. Mais qu’en est-il réellement ? Au travers de l’observation des étapes et des mécanismes de formation des cônes de dessèchement, l’objectif de l’étude menée ici est d’une part de vérifier s’il existe réellement une corrélation entre le diamètre de la plaie de taille et la profondeur du dessèchement. Ces travaux ont permis d’étudier 4 paramètres : la qualité de la taille, le cépage, l’âge de la plante et le millésime.

Le esposizioni fieristiche si rivelano di minore interesse rispetto agli eventi di matrice culturale, soprattutto per la mancanza di progettazione curatoriale che porta a non attribuire importanza a tutti quegli elementi che non siano il prodotto o il servizio oggetto della vendita. L’interesse che gli ambiti del design hanno e possono avere verso questo tipo di manifestazioni riguarda due indirizzi: implementare la sostenibilità del processo allestitivo e organizzativo ed elevare la qualità formale e comunicativa dell’oggetto fieristico. La proposta illustra alcuni degli elementi principali in ambito procedurale e processuale che possono portare a miglioramenti nel settore degli allestimenti a carattere commerciale.

Introduction: In the past five years, interprofessional collaboration within the rehabilitation sector has gained significant prominence in the Italian context, emphasizing the efficacy of collaborative methodologies in the treatment of patients with complex disabilities. The recognition of eight rehabilitation professions classified under the first cycle degree class L/SNT2 (Health Professions) has established a foundation for a patient-centered and multiprofessional model of care. However, comprehensive studies regarding the perceptions and implementations of interprofessional collaboration in Italy are notably absent, creating a substantial gap in academic literature and presenting numerous avenues for future inquiry. Aim: The aim of this study is to fill this gap by exploring the perception of interprofessional collaboration among healthcare professionals, identifying barriers and facilitators to effective collaboration and assessing the impact of education on team working provided for in the interprofessional model of care. Tools and Methods: The shared experiences of a cohort of professionals from the University of Padua were analyzed utilizing qualitative methodologies, specifically Focus Groups and Grounded Theory. This analysis facilitated the development of theory grounded in empirical data, providing nuanced insights into interprofessional dynamics. Results: The results highlight the critical importance of interprofessional collaboration and teamwork, showing the need to improve communication and knowledge sharing in order to optimize patient care. Emerging priorities include collaboration-centered education and organizational adaptation in order to handle complexities and limited resources, suggesting the expansion of collaboration models and the reorganization of rehabilitations environments. The analysis highlighted the intricate nature of interprofessional collaboration as an ever-evolving phenomenon that necessitates the formulation of educational and organizational strategies capable of transcending existing barriers while embracing professional diversity. Conclusion: In conclusion, interprofessional collaboration is essential for a rehabilitative and patient-centered approach, highlighting the need for health policies the encourages innovative interdisciplinary practices. This study confirms the importance of interprofessional collaboration in improving patient care, promoting effective communication and collaboration among the different healthcare disciplines in the rehabilitation environment.

INTRODUZIONE Nel contesto italiano, la collaborazione interprofessionale nel settore della riabilitazione ha acquisito notevole rilievo negli ultimi cinque anni, sottolineando l'efficacia di un approccio collaborativo nel trattamento dei pazienti con disabilità complesse. Il riconoscimento di otto professioni della riabilitazione delle L/SNT2 ha gettato le basi per un modello di cura incentrato sul paziente e multiprofessionale. Tuttavia, mancano studi dettagliati che esplorino come la collaborazione interprofessionale sia percepita e attuata in Italia, lasciando un significativo vuoto nella letteratura e presentando numerose opportunità per future ricerche. OBIETTIVO Questo studio mira a colmare questo vuoto esplorando la percezione della collaborazione interprofessionale tra i professionisti sanitari, identificando barriere e facilitatori alla collaborazione efficace e valutando l'impatto dell'educazione al lavoro in team previsto nel modello di cura interprofessionale. MATERIALI E METODI Utilizzando metodologie qualitative, specificamente Gruppi di Discussione e Teoria Fondata, sono state analizzate le esperienze condivise di un gruppo di professionisti all’interno dell’Università Degli Studi di Padova. Questa analisi ha facilitato la generazione di teorie basate sui dati, fornendo dettagli approfonditi sulle dinamiche interprofessionali. RISULTATI I risultati evidenziano l'importanza critica della collaborazione interprofessionale e del lavoro di squadra interdisciplinare, mostrando la necessità di migliorare la comunicazione e la condivisione delle conoscenze per ottimizzare l'assistenza ai pazienti. Le priorità emergenti includono la formazione incentrata sulla collaborazione e l'adattamento organizzativo per gestire la complessità e le risorse limitate, suggerendo un'espansione dei modelli di collaborazione e una riorganizzazione degli ambienti di riabilitazione. L'analisi ha sottolineato la complessità della collaborazione interprofessionale come realtà in continua evoluzione, che necessita dello sviluppo di strategie educative e organizzative che superino le barriere esistenti e valorizzino la diversità professionale. CONCLUSIONI In conclusione, la collaborazione interprofessionale è essenziale per un approccio riabilitativo efficace e centrato sul paziente, evidenziando la necessità di politiche sanitarie che incoraggino pratiche interdisciplinari innovative. Lo studio conferma l'importanza della collaborazione interprofessionale nel migliorare l'assistenza ai pazienti, promuovendo una comunicazione e collaborazione efficace tra le varie discipline sanitarie nel contesto della riabilitazione.

In this paper, the problem of compatibility between the two parts of the poem by Parmenides of Elea is addressed. This is done on the basis of a number of fragments from the poem – B 8, 9, 12, 16 and others – and a study of their ancient testimonia. In this way, the Parmenidean conception of the world and of human perceptive and gnoseological activity within it is reconstructed. Furthermore, starting from textual clues that show a certain need to go beyond this view of the world, an attempt has been made to argue how τὸ ἐόν can be understood as the All, i.e. as the universe, but seen in its unity. In order to do so, a tempative answer was proposed, using the philosophical category of limit, to recent aporias raised by interpreters.

Objective: A per-patient cost of therapy administration model was developed to estimate the cost of mosunetuzumab vs. tisagenlecleucel in patients with relapsing or refractory follicular lymphoma (R/R FL) receiving two or more lines of systemic therapy (3L+) from both the Italian hospital and societal perspectives. Methods: A per-patient total cost of therapy administration model was developed to compare the resource consumption of two treatments – mosunetuzumab and tisagenlecleucel. The model considered direct costs such as healthcare labor costs for drug preparation and administration, non-drug consumable costs, and drug purchase. Indirect costs such as patient and caregiver’s loss of productivity, transportation, and relocation were also considered. The unit costs and resource use data were retrieved from literature and standard Italian tariffs. To appraise the impact of patients’ residency on access-to-care and out-of-pocket expenses, three scenario analyses were conducted. Results: Over 1 year, mosunetuzumab costs approximately one-fourth of tisagenlecleucel per patient. The base-case scenario showed a hospital cost reduction of €158,870 per patient with mosunetuzumab, increasing to €161,974 when including societal costs. Scenario analyses for the societal perspective estimated cost differences of −€161,170, −€166,507, and −€166,811 for scenarios A, B, and C, respectively. Sensitivity analysis indicated that tisagenlecleucel’s price had the greatest impact on cost differences, followed by mosunetuzumab’s price. Conclusions: This analysis identifies mosunetuzumab as an accessible therapeutic option for 3L+ R/R FL patients in Italy. Future research should collect real-time data and evaluate long-term outcomes.

Review of M. Hoo, 2022, Eurasian Localisms. Towards a translocal approach to Hellenism and inbetweennes in central Eurasia, third to first centuries BCE, Stuggart, Steiner Verlag, 338 pp.

The foundation of Ostia Lido, which took place between 1909 and 1915 on the initiative of Paolo Orlando with the collaboration of the Associazione Artistica fra i Cultori di Architettura headed by Gustavo Giovannoni, represented a central episode not only in the expansion of the Third Rome towards the sea, but also of the Italian colonial culture. The construction of the Marine Hospice by Marcello Piacentini provided the first piece of the new settlement, addressed towards a language suspended between classicism and vernacular which was further developed by Vincenzo Fasolo in the nearby monumental Vittorio Emanuele III seaside holiday camp. Through the reading of the documents and the buildings’ locations, this article retraces the main design and construction processes of the two buildings, intimately linked to each other. It also traces the phases of abandonment and degradation, occupation and partial reuse that marked them in the postwar period, providing a picture of their current conditions and the opportunities that an systematic redevelopment could offer, inspired by the historical model of the “Albergo dei Poveri” and other spontaneous bottom-up activities.

The article analyses the political performance of the technical object “algorithm” by drawing on Gilbert Simondon's philosophy of technics. The first part studies the reduction of society and politics to the automatic functioning typical of algorithmic governmentality, tracking it back to the ideological assumptions implicit in the cybernetic model of the automaton. The second part shows that only a critique of such model allows for a departure from those assumptions and for the theorisation of algorithmic technology in view of a possible government of algorithms.

Architectures for health have a crucial role in collectivity: according to international ranking scores (for example, CEOWorld Magazine’s Health Care Index), in Italy, there are very advanced and well-functioning healthcare services, even though many facilities are old and obsolete, unorganized, dilapidated, and sometimes unsafe. It has been estimated that 60% of facilities have been built more than 40 years ago. Recent studies suggest that the service life of hospitals should be set around 60 years; after reaching this age, the structure must be redesigned. The present contribution analyses this “rule of thumb” in relation to its impact on user perception. It adopts a Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) method to assess the importance users attribute to the quality of the structure and the personnel working there. Specifically, 9 criteria have been selected, including extrinsic and intrinsic features not directly associated with the abovementioned issues. With this approach in mind, we analyzed the 10 best Italian hospitals’ structures and the quality of treatments. The contribution highlights a significant methodological gap in identifying the relationship between building characteristics and their effects on the service, which are often treated as separate. Thus, the research proposes an innovative method by placing users at the center of the evaluation of priorities. This is particularly crucial in healthcare facilities where all the individuals (patients and staff) and the systems’ processes affect each other. This research line has several possible results; here, it preliminarily involves questioning the 60-year-old threshold for providing highquality services in hospitals.

With the financialization of the real estate market, the application of the income approach through the Discounted Cash Flow Analysis (DCFA) for estimating the market value has significantly increased. In this income approach method, the Discount Rate (DR) is one of the factors that decisively affects the result. Despite the several procedures proposed for the estimation of the DR and the numerous parameters considered, the valuer is generally «forced» to the use of the risk premium as a corrective that takes into account the “communis aestimatio” borrowed for the assessment of the DR. Starting from these premises, the present research attempts to replicate the ordinary behavior that leads the valuer to the determination of DR and to outline a methodology that allows estimating a reliable and objective value of DR on the bases of the factors generally taken into consideration.

We provide a novel algorithm, called Valuto, for the fair valuation of real estate market values. The algorithm is based on the selling prices (or adjusted asking prices) of properties located in well-defined areas (microzones) of a territory. The algorithm takes into consideration the peculiar features of each individual property (cadastral typology, maintenance, presence or absence of an elevator, floor level, energy efficiency rating, gross and conventional surface area) and, based on well-defined conversion tables, recalculates its value. The algorithm could serve a variety of purposes in social applications, from the long sought-after land registry reform to a fair valuation of mortgaged properties. It also has an appealing marketable potential for real estate instant-buyers. In this paper, we describe the full implementation of the algorithm and provide guidelines on its application to the above-mentioned scopes. The algorithm is implemented via a user-friendly, testable web application at www.valuto.org.

Piero Calamandrei has contributed in many different ways to the Italian scholarship, debate and reform in the area of law and religion and Church and State. This text is focused on the two key questions of 1) State sovereignty, especially vis-à-vis the sovereignty of the Catholic Church, and 2) freedoms and rights in the face of diversity of religious membership. Calamandrei’s approach will be first described and then analysed in the light of developments in Italian law and policy in the last 70 years.

The "Johannes" project represents an innovative intersection of archaeology and artificial intelligence, aiming to reconstruct and simulate the consciousness of a medieval individual based on extensive archaeological data. By utilizing AI, specifically a ChatGPT model, the project seeks to bridge the gap between material culture and digital self-awareness. The AI is populated with data from the archaeological site of Miranduolo, integrating information about the village's historical context, material culture, and societal structures from the 7th to the early 14th century. This project explores the challenges of limiting the AI's knowledge to what would have been known by a 12th-century individual, thereby enriching the AI's "memories" with sensory experiences and historically plausible narratives. The project raises significant questions about the potential of AI in historical reconstruction, particularly in the simulation of emotions, empathy, and self-awareness. Ultimately, "Johannes" is not merely an intelligent collection of data but an experimental artificial being capable of critical thought, subjective experiences, and emotional expression. The implications of this project extend beyond archaeology, offering new perspectives on the use of AI in understanding the past and its potential as a teaching tool and a medium for theoretical exploration.

This article investigates the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with the space economy and its profound geopolitical implications. Artificial intelligence is increasingly powering space missions, satellite networks and resource utilization, thereby reshaping the global landscape of the space industry. AI-driven advances are fueling economic opportunities and competition among nations in space-related sectors and the resulting geopolitical effects. From satellite services to lunar and Martian exploration, AI is poised to become a driving force in shaping the balance of power in the space arena, making it a critical topic for policymakers, strategists and industry leaders.

This essay reconstructs the history of Giulia Napoleone's art books, small volumes in single copies with poems transcribed by hand and illustrated with various techniques: a exercise which began in 1963 and which the public was able to get to know for the first time during the 2017 exhibition at the Central Institute of Graphics (Istituto Centrale per la Grafica), following a major donation from the Artist. These books testify to the special relationship that Giulia Napoleone has always had with poetry, a source of inspiration and reciprocity even for larger works, such as pictorial cycles or monographic exhibitions, which go beyond the book form. At the same time, these small private books are also seen as germinal cells of the larger books, printed in a limited number of copies by reputable international art publishers, and distinguished by an iconographic apparatus including unique engravings which vary from copy to copy.

This study explores an innovative approach to portfolio optimization, bridging traditional Modern Portfolio Theory (MPT) with advanced Machine Learning techniques. We start by recognizing the significance of Markowitz's model in MPT and quickly proceed to focus on the Hierarchical Risk Parity (HRP) method. HRP overcomes some of the limitations of Markowitz's model, particularly in managing complex asset correlations, by offering a more refined risk management strategy that ensures balanced risk distribution across the portfolio. The paper then introduces an innovative Machine Learning approach that employs the Logic Learning Machine (LLM) method to enhance the explainability of the Hierarchical Risk Parity strategy. Such integration is considered the core research part of the study, given that its application makes the output of the model more accessible and transparent. A case study based on the Turkish stock market has been provided as an example. The combination of traditional financial theories with modern Machine Learning tools marks a significant advancement in investment management and portfolio optimization, emphasizing the importance of clarity and ease of understanding in complex financial portfolio models.

Background: Administrative burdens have been identified as a major issue impacting patient care, professional practice, and the overall efficiency of healthcare systems. The aim of this study is to assess the administrative burden faced by Italian hematologists. Methods: A cross-sectional survey that included both closed-ended quantitative questions and open-ended free text answer options was administered to 1,570 hematologists working with malignancies and members of Italian GIMEMA Foundation – Franco Mandelli ONLUS and the Italian Linfomi Foundation (FIL). The survey was conducted online from May 24 to June 30, 2023. Descriptive statistics were computed for the quantitative data to clearly summarize the responses and descriptive analysis of free text responses was carried out. Results: Surveyed hematologists spend an average of 47.07% of their time on administrative tasks, with 63.22% (n = 110) of respondents reporting spending at least half of their time on these activities. More than half (57.47%, n = 100) reported that “Patient care” is the medical task most affected by a lack of time. Additionally, 55.17% (n = 96) reported experiencing burnout in the past 6 months, with filling out “Forms” being identified as the top contributing administrative task by 27.59% (n = 48) of respondents, followed by “Scheduling” (24.71%, n = 43) and “Managing IT system failures” (21.84%, n = 38). Nearly half of the surveyed hematologists (45.40%, n = = 79) identified patient care as the top priority requiring more time. Conclusions: The study confirms that the administrative workload of hematologists has a significant impact on patient care, communication, and burnout risk, reducing the time available for patient care, leading to exhaustion and concern about clinical errors.

La presente nota intende presentare una particolare tipo di metamorfosi, l’aphanismós, a partire dall’analisi di alcune narrazioni tratte dall’opera di Antonino Liberale. Il nostro scopo è quello di dimostrare che l’aphanismós rappresenta la forma limite della metamorfosi.

Il Monumento-memoriale a Lampedusa, costruito dall’uomo per essere scolpito dal mare, si configura nel molo Favarolo, ultimo manufatto quando si parte e primo quando si arriva, approdo di migranti, intriso di alta valenza simbolica. Il memoriale si origina dalla relazione tra il naturale e l’artificiale, tra il mare e il porto, per attribuire allo stesso un significato carico di emozioni, di riflessioni e di percezione dei drammi consumati. Il Monumento, a memoria del naufragio del 3 ottobre 2013, riconfigura alla scala urbana il molo, ridisegna lo spazio aperto attraverso nuovi frangiflutti che, oltre alla loro mera funzione tecnica, divengono elementi dal valore scultoreo evocativo, spaziale e temporale in coevoluzione con l’acqua, così da restituire mutevoli immagini e fruizioni.

Introduction: Laryngomalacia (LGM) is the most common congenital anomaly of the larynx and the most frequent cause of stridor in the newborn. Even though it can be a source of concern and anxiety to parents, a large majority of cases usually resolve spontaneously within 18 months of life. However, in infants with signs of severity, a multidisciplinary approach and surgical intervention might be necessary. Case report: We report the case of a full-term 7-week-old infant girl, previously hospitalized in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and diagnosed with type II LGM (Olney’s classification). She presented to the Paediatric Emergency Department with stridor at rest, vigorous chest wall retractions and poor weight gain (increase of 10 g/day, weight under the 3rd percentile). The infant was admitted to monitor respiratory symptoms and investigate her failure to thrive. However, irrespective of feeding modifications, and after exclusion of other causes of failure to thrive, the infant maintained an insufficient weight gain. Additionally, respiratory symptoms remained exuberant and surgical intervention was determined as the optimal treatment. At 3 months old, supraglottoplasty was performed. At 18 months, she has a weight in the 3rd-15th percentile range (WHO curves) and is clinically asymptomatic. Conclusion: LGM is a remarkably frequent cause of stridor in infants, but only a rare number of cases require other interventions beyond symptomatic measures. In this report, surgical intervention was of paramount importance to ensure normal growth, emphasising the impact of a multidisciplinary approach in such cases.

Foodborne diseases can be prevented by implementing a food safety system that manages food chain risks from producer to end-user, from a One Health perspective. In 2017, the European Parliament and the European Council adopted Regulation No. 625 on official food controls and other official activities performed to ensure the application of food and feed laws and rules on animal health and welfare, plant health, and plant protection products. Italy issued a national law, Legislative Decree No. 27/2021, to adapt and adhere to European standards. We aim to describe the adoption and implementation of the new Legislative Decree by an Italian Food Hygiene and Nutrition Service, specifically focusing on the amendments introduced by Articles 7 and 8, namely the establishment of the second expert opinion and dispute procedures, and their integration with the promulgation of Article 70 of Legislative Decree No. 150/2022. These modifications aim to reduce the number of minor offenses that proceed to trial.

Introduction: The therapeutic approach to the patient with acute bacterial skin and skin structure infection (ABSSSI) and complicated infections often involves the early transition from intravenous to oral therapy (early switch) or early discharge. Our study aimed to evaluate sustainable and innovative care models that can be transferred to community healthcare and the economic impact of dalbavancin therapy vs Standard of Care (SoC) therapy for the treatment of ABSSSI and other Gram-positive infections including those by multidrug-resistant organisms. We also described the organization of an infectious disease network that allows optimizing the treatment of ABSSSI and other complex infections with dalbavancin. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively studied all patients treated with dalbavancin in the University Hospital “S. Anna” of Ferrara, Italy, between November 2016 and December 2022. The clinical information of each patient was collected from the hospital’s SAP database and used to evaluate the impact of dalbavancin in early discharge with reduction of length of stay promoting dehospitalization and in improving adherence to antibiotic therapy Results: A total of 287 patients (165 males and 122 females) were included in the study of which 62 were treated with dalbavancin. In 13/62 patients dalbavancin was administered in a single dose at the completion of therapy to facilitate early discharge. Assuming a 12-day hospitalization required for the treatment of ABSSSI or to complete the treatment of osteomyelitis or spondilodiscitis, the treatment with dalbavancin results in a cost reduction of more than €3,200 per single patient compared to SoC (dancomycin, linezolid or vancomycin) Conclusions: Dalbavancin has proven to be a valid therapeutic aid in the organization of a territorial infectious disease network given its prolonged action, which allows the dehospitalization with management of even patients with complex infections in outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy.

Usual anticancer therapies may result in cancer-related cognitive impairment, or worsen it if the patient is already affected. Cognitive rehabilitation is the most effective way of dealing with cognitive impairment, especially together with motor rehabilitation. A patient-centred care approach will give even better results. Neuropsychological rehabilitation starts after an evaluation of the patient’s cognitive, psychological and behavioural function levels by a psychologist. In this context, mindfulness, yoga and meditation can be helpful supporting activities. The process is completed by motor rehabilitation, according to the biopsychosocial pattern, which is based on the interaction of biological, psychological and socio-cultural factors. For instance, the execution of motor exercise creates new sinaptic connections, strengthening brain functions.

During 2022, a research and experimentation project aimed at developing new interactive approaches in the use of cultural heritage was launched within the Virtual Archeology Laboratory of the University of Palermo. Through reflection on the experiences that have characterized the disciplinary field and the observation of the possibilities offered by the videogame world, we proceeded to define a protocol called URBE which provides for the development of simulation ecosystems, through game-type software engine, within which users play the role of protagonists of the proposed experience, being able to relate independently with the virtual resources. These elements have made it possible to develop edutainment dynamics with a strong communicative impact and a high degree of immersion which are proposed as an ideal solution in the context of the valorisation of cultural heritage.

Background: The availability of high-efficacy disease-modifying therapy (DMT), including natalizumab, improved treatment efficacy in adults with highly-active relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS). Natalizumab patent protection has expired, and the natalizumab biosimilar (Tyruko®) has been recently reimbursed by AIFA. As the price of natalizumab biosimilar is expected to be lower as compared with natalizumab originator’s price, a budget impact analysis was conducted to assess the economic impact associated to the introduction of natalizumab biosimilar for patients with highly-active RRMS. Methods: A budget impact model was developed, considering the INHS perspective and a 5-years time horizon. The number of patients treated with natalizumab was estimated based on historical natalizumab consumption data, disease prevalence rates and natalizumab market share. The budget impact population was divided into prevalent and incident patients. The model assumes that some patients in treatment with natalizumab originator will switch to natalizumab biosimilar and that some naïve patients will directly start treatment with natalizumab biosimilar. The ex-factory price of natalizumab originator (intravenous and subcutaneous) and biosimilar (intravenous) and the corresponding administration costs were included. All assumptions were validated by expert opinion. Results: Eligible population was estimated at 7,552, 7,779, 8,090, 8,494 and 8,834 in years 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 respectively. The introduction of natalizumab biosimilar, considering a progressive increase in market share from 9.6% (year 1) to 40.5% (year 5), would provide an overall savings (5-years time horizon) over € 47 million to the INHS. The scenario analysis highlights that the lower treatment cost of biosimilar natalizumab compared to originator natalizumab would offset the higher cost associated with intravenous versus subcutaneous administration. Conclusion: Considering the results of this budget impact analysis, it is realistic to expect that the presence of biosimilar natalizumab will contribute to the sustainability of public pharmaceutical expenditure.

L’importanza della rappresentazione come spazio per la costruzione di modelli è sempre stata centrale nella pratica architettonica. Tali modelli sono sempre serviti come mezzo di verifica delle idee, secondo un approccio progettuale definibile di form-checking. Con la transizione digitale questo rapporto si ribalta e i modelli vengono sempre più identificati da parametri e informazioni che possono fornire analisi, previsioni e individuare soluzioni, in un approccio che diviene così di form-finding. Se, tuttavia, idea e forma erano inizialmente “disegnate” nella mente e sulla carta, oggi nella mente rimangono l’idea e la figura, mentre il disegno digitale trova la forma a ragione delle prestazioni ricercate. La ricerca qui presentata analizza tre casi di studio in cui i modelli stigmatizzano le relazioni fra ideazione, verifica e realizzazione. Il primo caso di studio riguarda la costruzione della camera di Ames, un tema iconico della percezione, realizzata come un padiglione temporaneo, generato attraverso algoritmi generativi, modelli BIM e fabbricazione digitale. Il secondo caso di studio presenta la realizzazione di una test room, modello costruito per monitorare in tempo reale e confrontare le prestazioni effettive con i dati simulati da algoritmi multi-obiettivo. Il terzo caso di studio riguarda la ricerca sperimentale su elementi architettonici igroscopici in legno stampato in 3D, modelli analoghi che mostrano il ruolo della rappresentazione nel rapporto fra progettazione, fabbricazione e responsività.

The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam has three dolls’ houses in its collections. The most famous was realized between 1686 and 1710 by Petronella Oortman, a well-known wealthy heiress of a Dutch silk merchant (fig. 1). The model was made to 1:9 scale and measured 255 × 190 × 78 cm. For its creation, the lady spared no expense, calling on an inordinate number of artisans, painters, carvers, glassblowers, and cabinetmakers who furnished the house with some 700 custom-made pieces, all functional and made from the same materials that would have been used in the construction of their life-size counterparts. Researchers used to consider the battle of Stamford Bridge (September 25th 1066) the last event of the Viking Age. Notwithstanding the importance of this statement, one should remind that it was part of a series of fights that pushed to radical changes in the history of Anglo-Saxon England: in less than a month we record the battle of Fulford (September 20th 1066) and the battle of Hastings (October 14th 1066). The leaders involved in the battle were Harald Hardrada, king of the Norse army and Harold Godwinson, the last Anglo-Saxon king of England. This paper aims to develop a methodology to reconstruct the battle from an archaeological perspective. It is focused on the analysis of several types of sources on a GIS platform. So far, neither written sources nor archaeological data returned crucial evidence about the exact location of the battle-site. Despite these odds, this research will highlight the possible path the Anglo-Saxon army travelled along to reach the village of Stamford Bridge – near York – from London. Finally, there will be proposed three potential locations of the battle-site.

In the practice of medieval wars, fighting with stones was particularly widespread, both during siege operations and in pitched battles. The departments of slingers were therefore particularly appreciated, often farmers and shepherds accustomed to using this weapon since they were children. In this context, a particular type of sling, little known to scholars, spread between the Late Antiquity and the early Modern Age: the fustibalo or cazafrusto. This was very simple: a large sling attached to a wooden stick, which allowed large rocks to be hurled at considerable distances, enough to replace or complement the artillery, both traction and black powder.

‘Candidatus Phytoplasma ulmi’ (Ca. P. ulmi) belongs to the ribosomal subgroup 16SrV-A and is associated with dieback, shoot proliferation and yellows disease on various Ulmus spp. Other plant species, such as Carpinus betulus and Prunus spp. have also been reported infected by the same pathogen. In 2021, in the frame of research activities focused on grapevine’s Flavescence dorée (FD), one specimen of Orientus ishidae - an East Palearctic leafhopper that was identified as an alternative vector of FD phytoplasmas - was found harboring Ca. P. ulmi in southern Switzerland. No phytoplasmas were detected in plant samples taken in the same location. Orientus ishidae has already been reported to be able to acquire diverse phytoplasmas associated with other plant diseases, such as Peach X-disease. This is the first report of Ca. P. ulmi in Switzerland, as well as in O. ishidae. Ca. P. ulmi may potentially be present in the wild compartment of the Swiss Pre-alpine and Alpine range, but no dedicated survey has so far been conducted. In the case of O. ishidae, this finding highlights the broad affinity of such a species for the acquisition of several phytoplasmas. This calls for a further investigation regarding its potential role as a vector on various pathosystems of agronomic importance.

Introduction: Anemia is a potentially reversible condition in early chronic kidney disease (CKD) that requires timely intervention. General practitioners (GPs) play a crucial role in recognizing CKD. A new Nephrology Referral Form (NRF) was developed and tested in the Italian setting. Methods: This mixed-methods survey, conducted between 2021 and 2022, introduced the NRF through focus group discussions involving a scientific committee. The NRF was tested in a 6-month trial involving 24 GPs each from Lazio and Puglia regions. GPs provided feedback on the use of the NRF in clinical practice through a questionnaire sent via Microsoft Form. The data were analyzed descriptively. Results: After 6 months, 41.67% of the GPs were using the NRF at least once a week. Diabetes mellitus and hypertension were common triggers for NRF assessments. GPs overwhelmingly agreed (96%) on the NRF’s utility in identifying CKD cases, with 92% citing its effectiveness in diagnosing well-defined cases. The NRF facilitated specialist referrals, with 83% of GPs reporting increased referrals compared to the prior 6 months. Feedback underscored the NRF’s positive impact, suggesting improvements such as additional referral centers, regional/national networks, enhanced GP training, and increased collaboration. Conclusion: GPs regularly used the NRF to identify and diagnose cases of CKD, streamlining the referral process and increasing referrals to specialists. Feedback emphasized the NRF’s positive impact and highlighted its potential as a valuable tool for enhancing early CKD detection, interventions, and fostering multidisciplinary management in primary care for better patient outcomes.

This article aims to describe the complex linguistic and sociolinguistic situation of Alto Adige – Südtirol, officially named Autonomous Province of Bolzano – Bozen with a focus on the varieties of German spoken there as first language. The territory, which is officially trilingual as it hosts the Ladin minority in Val Gardena and Val Badia besides the Italian speakers, became part of Italy in 1919 as “spoils of war” after Austrian defeat in the First World War. The division of the ancient historical region of Tyrol meant a subsequent difficult period of forced Italianization, imposing Italian on German in names, toponyms and daily life. Only the determination of the local population and their affection to their language and culture has preserved – even if not always with peaceful means – the survival of the Austrian dialects and traditions and has led to the modern forms of safeguarding and cohabitation which make of this province of Northern Italy one of the strongest linguistic minorities in all Europe.

This article focuses on the linguistic and sociolinguistic situation of Sappada – Plodn, a village in the Carnic Alps, which – just as the close Sauris and Timau – differs from the rest of its neighbouring villages as it is an ancient settlement of Austrian-Bavarian origin. In this essay, the author will provide an outline of Sappada’s historical origins and focus on a description of its peculiar Germanic dialect, which is still preserved and spoken by the local population. Then the initiatives to protect Sappada’s linguistic heritage will be illustrated from a sociolinguistic point of view, also in the light of the most important traditions that make the village a very important tourist attraction.

The aim of this article is to give a description of the sociolinguistic situation and of the Carinthian dialects of Valcanale, in the province of Udine. This small valley belonged to Austria until 1919 and was consequently annected to Italy as compensation for the First World War, which resulted in the modification of the languages traditionally spoken in the territory, especially due to Italianization. Nowadays, Valcanale represents the survival of the indigenous Slovenian community, the Germanic component dating back to the period of Bamberg and Austrian domination on the Friulians, who settled there before the valley’s passage to Italy. Later, the valley was finally given to the Italians in 1919, whose relocation to the area was encouraged by the Fascist regime.

Italy shows a multitude of languages and dialects bound to different areas, language communities, ethnicities and personal identities. Many of the historical minority languages of Italy are not known to everyone, not even to all Italians though living on the same territory. This special issue aims at describing such language varieties to be found in the Northern pat of Italy, dealing first of all with the history of a certain language variety. Each paper also describes the main linguistic charactericics, mainly at phonological, semantical and morphosyntactic level. Then some of the most important intiatives to preserve such valuable inheritage.

Resumo Sedimentada na cultura moderna e fortemente atrelada ao circo, a arte do palhaço e da palhaça revela-se como um profícuo espaço para a reflexão da formação artística. Este artigo pretende oferecer um olhar crítico para os processos que os formadores e as formadoras de palhaços e palhaças receberam em suas formações artísticas. A partir dos dados resultantes de um questionário online realizado em 2019 e divulgado em redes sociais, encontramos 110 profissionais do ensino da palhaçada espalhados pelas cinco regiões do Brasil. Ao analisar as respostas obtidas, podemos delinear um primeiro entendimento dos diversos processos de formação de palhaços e palhaças que estão acontecendo no país. Um olhar crítico para o que foi e está sendo feito possibilita um aperfeiçoamento do que poderá ser aprimorado no futuro.

O ensaio investiga a diferença qualitativa do fogo a partir de suas diversas configurações histórico-físicas. Com apoio em concepções de Schrödinger, Margulis & Sagan, Asimov e Prigogine & Stengers, desenvolve-se o problema da conexão entre matéria, vida e espírito por meio da comparação entre conceitos divergentes de entropia. Conclui-se com uma especulação cosmológica a respeito da historicidade da natureza.

L’articolo s’interroga sullo spazio del comico in Mimesis, saggio che poggia uno dei suoi assi portanti sul trattamento serio, tragico e problematico del quotidiano. Inserendo Auerbach nel suo orizzonte ideologico e ricostruendo brevemente la sua genealogia intellettuale, l’analisi indaga le ragioni che hanno portato l’autore a considerare il comico come la “forma” che impedisce l’emergere della problematicità realistica. Dopo una discussione su due problemi di fondo (uno semiologico, uno storico-letterario), l’articolo si sofferma sui capitoli di Mimesis in cui Auerbach tratta il comico – capitoli che spesso si rivelano essere i più utili per capire il suo metodo e la sua filosofia della storia.

As already shown in a newly published article (Autelli/Caria 2022b), the phraseological studies on the Catalan of Alghero are still in their infancy, and there is an urgent need for documenting more phrasemes in this diatopic variety. One can already find some of them in dictionaries and amatorial collections. The aim of this paper is to give a brief overview of the written sources and dictionaries of Algherese, then to analyse the terminology used in the latter in reference to phrasemes and, most importantly, to find out what kind of phrasemes are provided, trying to pinpoint their main morphosyntactic, semantic and cultural features.
