The Rudolf‐Fettweis hydropower plant, owned and operated by EnBW Energie Baden‐Württemberg AG, is situated in the Murg valley in the Northern Black Forest. The construction of a new underground Lower Basin is planned to upgrade the existing hydropower station. The in‐situ rock mass consists of Forbach Granite with local weakness zones, as encountered in the boreholes. Considering the extent of the project area, a 3D geological prediction model was used to allow a better interpretation of the spatial relationships of weakness zones in the rock mass and to optimize the orientation of the underground caverns. Adverse effects for the public were counteracted at a very early stage, so that the project received a high level of public acceptance. The present paper describes the current state of the project. In this review article 78 evaluable globally accessible articles regarding the influence of heat, drought, heavy rain, flooding, black frost, early frost, late frost, extreme frost, storm, hail, radiation and wet snow have on significant plant pests - namely fungi, insects and viruses - infesting wheat, barley and maize are summarized and discussed. The influence of other extremes and/or plant pests wasn't backed up enough by research, hence it wasn't evaluated. Sufficient evaluable literature was available for the influence drought and heat have on fungal infections, especially Fusarium and Aspergillus species and various species of aphids and the damage caused by them, including the mycotoxin levels in the grains of wheat and maize. As statements obtained from literature are partly contradicting and overall lacking information, a generalization of results is impossible. Suggestions for further research, such as the obtainment of primary data concerning temperature extremes, increased night time temperatures and their implementation in existing simulation and prediction models are made. According to the high investment costs as well as the necessary maintenance and inspection tasks, turnouts must be treated very carefully. It is not reasonable to extract individual parts from the overall system. Rather, the entire regime must be understood and optimised. In order to make this possible, different data for a turnout description and prediction model were investigated. The measurement data from the standard track recording car EM250 of the Austrian Federal Railways were identified as those data source, which fulfils all requirements best. Therefore, the developed algorithm allows an exact positioning of all available measuring signals and ensures the synchronicity between the individual measuring data under consideration of dependencies between the individual signals. Based on this data, a variety of analyses for turnouts can be established and new methods can be developed, which will allow implementing of an LifeCycle- Management for turnouts in future. Daten aus der Vergangenheit nutzen, um Vorhersagen für die Zukunft treffen zu können. Ausgereifte und benutzerfreundliche Werkzeuge aus dem Bereich des Deep Learnings versprechen, dass grundlegende Programmierkenntnisse ausreichen, um solche Vorhaben in die Tat umzusetzen. Die Auswahl dieser Werkzeuge und der Techniken, die bei einem vorliegenden Vorhersageproblem zum Erfolg führen können, ist ohne dem entsprechenden Vorwissen jedoch nur schwer zu treffen. Die vorliegende Arbeit wurde verfasst, um die vorhandenen Möglichkeiten sachlich und vergleichend darzulegen. Zu diesem Zweck wurden relevante Grundlagen zum Deep Learning inklusive Zeitreihen und Rekurrente Neuronale Netzwerke (RNNs) ausgearbeitet. Danach wurden die modernsten und meistgenutzten Werkzeuge für die Durchführung der notwendigen Datenverarbeitung und des Trainings kurz vorgestellt. Durch diese Vorgehensweise konnten Python mit Pandas und Keras als Tools für die Implementierung eines Projekts zur Vorhersage von Feinstaubwerten gewählt werden. Im Rahmen der Beschreibung dieser Implementierung wurden die Programmiersprachen Python und R praktisch verglichen und die Möglichkeiten, die Keras bietet, dargelegt. Diese Ausführungen konnten die Wahl der Technologien für die Umsetzung des Projekts bestätigen. Lesende dieser Arbeit können somit Hilfestellungen zu Entscheidung bei der Auswahl von Werkzeugen und Prozessen zur Erstellung von Vorhersagemodellen erhalten. This Bachelor's thesis introduces and examines some available deep learning frameworks used for the creation of models which can predict the future. Those sophisticated and user-friendly tools promise that basic programming skills are sufficient to put such plans into practice. However, selecting the tools and the techniques that can lead to success in a certain prediction problem is difficult without prior knowledge in the field of data science. Therefore, the available options are presented in a factual and comparative manner. For this purpose, the relevant basic principles of deep learning are described first. Then, the state-of-the-art and most widely used tools for performing this processing and training are presented briefly. Respective strengths and weaknesses are mentioned and the application areas and share of usage are presented. These demonstrations lead to the possibility to reach an informed decision. The thesis is not only based on theoretical research, but also on the implementation of a practical project. In a practical part of the thesis this project is defined and the process of its implementation is described. As part of these descriptions, the decision to use Python with Pandas and Keras to solve the problem is evaluated. By conducting a practical comparison of Python and R and by describing some advanced possibilities offered by Keras, the result of this evaluation turns out positively. This thesis thereby provides guidance for decisions regarding the selection of tools and processes for building predictive models. Methods of artificial intelligence (AI) have found applications in many fields of medicine within the last few years. Some disciplines already use these methods regularly within their clinical routine. However, the fields of application are wide and there are still many opportunities to apply these new AI concepts. This review article gives an insight into the history of AI and defines the special terms and fields, such as machine learning (ML), neural networks and deep learning. The classical steps in developing AI models are demonstrated here, as well as the iteration of data rectification and preparation, the training of a model and subsequent validation before transfer into a clinical setting are explained. Currently, musculoskeletal disciplines implement methods of ML and also neural networks, e.g. for identification of fractures or for classifications. Also, predictive models based on risk factor analysis for prevention of complications are being initiated. As non-union in bone is a rare but very complex disease with dramatic socioeconomic impact for the healthcare system, many open questions arise which could be better understood by using methods of AI in the future. New fields of research applying AI models range from predictive models and cost analysis to personalized treatment strategies., (© 2022. Today, the turbulent boundary layer (TBL) is the major source for aircraft cabin interior acoustics. Due to the decreasing contribution of aircraft engines to the cabin noise levels, the importance of TBL as source is increasing. Especially aircraft manufacturers are interested in building the quietest and most comfortable aircraft in the market. To do so, it is of interest to investigate the TBL as a noise source and being able to precisely estimate its contribution to the interior noise everywhere on the aircraft. This thesis deals with the prediction of aircraft fuselage vibration excitation by TBL at typical cruise flight conditions. To characterize the excitation by TBL, information about the frequency dependent pressure fluctuations, thus the strength of turbulence is necessary. Furthermore, the development of turbulence in space and time is important. These information are covered by the auto-spectrum as well as the wavenumber-frequency spectrum. In a first step, measured auto-spectra during flight tests are post-processed and analyzed as a validation data base. Furthermore, models for auto-spectra and wavenumber-frequency spectra are reviewed from literature and finally, an enhanced auto-spectrum model is developed. To do so, Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) computational fluid dynamics (CFD) computations with DLR's TAU code are performed and the aerodynamic data is used as input for the development of the new auto-spectrum model. Parallel to these semi-empirical modeling activities, a full numerical approach is followed to predict the TBL in terms of auto-spectra and wavenumber-frequency spectra. Therefore, the Fast Random Particle-Mesh Method (FRPM) from DLR is applied to distinct parts of an Airbus A320 at cruise flight conditions. Beside this, the predicted excitation models are numerically applied to aircraft fuselage sections by using the Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) and the structural response of several subsystems is analyzed. Finally, the numerically estimated structural vibrations are compared with analyzed measured vibrations from flight tests on the real aircraft structure. The new developed auto-spectrum model demonstrates a good reliability in the prediction of auto-spectra on an aircrafts fuselage within its aerodynamic limits. Beside this, predicted and measured structural vibrations collapse over a large frequency range for the tested areas. This new method enables a CFD based prediction of auto-spectra everywhere on a fuselage and therefore, the calculation of structural excitation. Die turbulente Grenzschicht (TBL) ist die Hauptlärmquelle der Kabinenakustik bei heutigen Verkehrsflugzeugen. Durch den verringerten Schalleintrag aus modernen Triebwerken steigt die Relevanz der TBL als Lärmquelle für die Flugzeugkabine. Flugzeughersteller haben das Ziel, das leiseste und komfortabelste Flugzeug auf dem Markt zu bauen. Um dieses Ziel zu erreichen, ist es von großer Bedeutung die TBL als Lärmquelle genau zu verstehen und den Schalleintrag in der gesamten Flugzeugkabine berechnen zu können. Diese Doktorarbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Vorhersage von Rumpfstrukturanregung bei Verkehrsflugzeugen durch die TBL bei typischen Reiseflugbedingungen. Um die Anregung zu charakterisieren, müssen Informationen über die frequenzabhängigen Druckfluktuationen, also die Stärke der Turbulenz vorliegen. Außerdem sind Informationen über die räumliche und zeitliche Entwicklung der Turbulenz unabdingbar. Diese Informationen werden über das Autospektrum sowie das Wellenzahlfrequenzspektrum abgebildet. Im ersten Schritt werden Flugtestdaten ausgewertet, die zur Validierung herangezogen werden. Nachfolgend werden Modelle für Autospektren und Wellenzahlfrequenzspektren aus der Literatur verglichen und in einem weiteren Schritt wird ein bestehendes Modell zur Vorhersage von Autospektren weiterentwickelt. Für diese Weiterentwicklung werden numerisch die Zustandsgrößen der Strömung berechnet (CFD), wobei der "Reynolds averaged Navier Stokes" (RANS) Löser TAU des DLR genutzt wird. Die Strömungsgrößen werden als Eingangsgrößen für das neue Autospektren-Modell genutzt. Parallel zu den semi-empirischen Modellierungen wird ein voll numerischer Ansatz verfolgt, um die Autospektren und Wellenzahlfrequenzspektren der TBL vorherzusagen. Hierzu wird die "Fast Random Particle-Mesh" Methode (FRPM) des DLR in bestimmten Bereichen eines Airbus A320 bei Reiseflugbedingungen angewendet. In einem weiteren Schritt werden die Anregungsmodelle mit Hilfe der Statistischen Energieanalyse (SEA) numerisch an eine Flugzeugstruktur gerechnet und die daraus resultierenden Strukturvibrationen ausgewählter Subsysteme ausgewertet. Abschließend wird die numerische Vorhersage mit den gemessenen Strukturvibrationen des A320 aus Flugtests verglichen. Das neu entwickelte Autospektrenmodell zeigt eine hohe Vorhersagegenauigkeit innerhalb der definierten aerodynamischen Grenzen. Des Weiteren liegen die vorhergesagten und gemessenen Strukturvibrationen in einem großen Frequenzbereiche übereinander. Die neue Methode ermöglicht eine CFD basierte Vorhersage der Autospektren überall auf dem Flugzeugrumpf und somit auch die Berechnung der Strukturvibrationsanregung des Rumpfes.
