The objective is to share our experience on safe early postpartum discharge in a level 2 maternity hospital with limited capacity. We carried out an interventional study (before / after) which involved patients who underwent an elective caesarean section in the gynecology-obstetrics department of the Ouassakara urban health centre in Abidjan. Were included patients who underwent an elective caesarean section under locoregional anesthesia, and who gave their free and informed consent to participate in the study. The data collected was recorded, processed, and analyzed respectively with Epi Data 3.1 and SPSS Version 21 softwares. The average hospital stay was 55.6 hours in RAAC patients. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant. The mean time of autonomy for enhanced cesarean section recovery (ECR) patients was 28.4 hours versus 33.7 hours in patients before (ECR) with a statistically significant difference between the two groups. Postoperative complications were 11.7% in the group of (ECR) patients versus 18%. The implementation of an improved recovery protocol after caesarean section can reduce the duration of hospitalization without increasing the risk of postoperative complications.
