5. Tortoise Love: DH Lawrence on Reptile Orgasm

In his exploration of sexual desire, the English novelist and poet D.H. Lawrence does not confine himself to the ardours of human beings, Ursula Brangwen, Constance Chatterley or other Women in Love. A sequence of poems devoted to tortoises interrogates the manifestations of love and desire among cold-blooded creatures—“Tortoise Shell,” “Lui et Elle,” “Tortoise Gallantry,” “Tortoise Shout”—as well as the consequences of such gallantry: “Baby Tortoise,” “Tortoise Family Connections.” In my examination of these poems, I shall attempt to determine whether Lawrence is guilty of blatant anthropocentricity or whether something of the alien nature of another species finds its way into his writing, thereby attesting to his near-shaman-like capacity for cross-species communication and empathy.

Nature’s imagination has been conceived in an allegorical or humanist fashion. This paper argues for a natural imagination in actuality as a radical counterpoint to status-quo concepts of sustainability. The self-hood of non-human beings and the necessity of connection in the natural world are addressed and related to a philosophy of becoming. This paper insists on a material semiotics constituted through the willful aspect and imaginative capacity of all life forms. Maintaining the primacy of relationship, terra-consciousness may provide an imaginative antidote to our all-too-human alienation from non-human entanglement in the Anthropocene.

If Lawrence called for a poetry of the present that surpasses “finished crystallisation” (CP 182), the advent of such poetry was for him a way to deconstruct anything “fixed, set, static” (ibid.) like the preconceived world-view of anthropomorphism he denounced in Wordsworth’s Peter Bell: “Sweet-Williamish at that! Anthropomorphized! Anthropomorphism, that allows nothing to call its soul its own, save Anthropos: and only a special brand, even of him!” (“…Love was Once a Little Boy,” Phoenix II, 449) This paper will focus on Lawrence’s relation to anthropocentrism that stifles the very ontology of nature and humanizes animals. With the publication of Birds, Beasts and Flowers and the prodigious fauna that peoples his poetic corpus, Lawrence rejected the human-animal antagonism to then impose his poetic celebration of animality that culminates in humanimality, the eco-ontological nexus between man and the animal realm.

In the light of Philipp Sarasin's work in Darwin und Foucault: Genealogie und Geschichte im Zeitalter der Biologie, the article delineates a genealogically articulated naturally produced culture and a cultured nature and discusses the genealogical implications of a carnal, becoming self in a world that could rightly be justified "as an aesthetical phenomenon." The article demonstrates the historicity and processual materiality as a conceptual platform for a combination of the notions of experienced carnality and a socially constructed body, demonstrating such a historically embedded carnal body as a binding agent for the "social constructivist" and "biologist" approaches in sciences. Thus, the article builds a framework for the articulation of senseful, processual materiality on the backdrop of a nature-culture continuum via genealogy, suggesting the necessity for change of tone in the communication of human and life sciences via the understanding of a culturally endowed biology.

Cette thèse s’intéresse aux souffrances morales dans la philosophie de Vladimir Jankélévitch, plus particulièrement le remords, l’ennui et la nostalgie. L’analyse suit deux axes, d’abord un axe herméneutique où il s’agit de comprendre la signification de ces souffrances en les replaçant dans une anthropologie philosophique et une ontologie qui leur donne sens. Ensuite un axe thérapeutique qui indique comment ces formes de souffrances peuvent orienter le devenir de manière à vivre plus harmonieusement. Sur ces bases, la thèse élabore une étude en profondeur de la joie chez Jankélévitch, laquelle s’est dessinée en creux dans l’analyse des souffrances. En effet, le remords permet de bien comprendre le lien puissant entre la joie et l’amour. Les analyses de l’ennui et de la nostalgie permettent quant à elles de saisir son ancrage temporel., This thesis investigate the question of moral suffering in the philosophy of Vladimir Jankélévitch, specifically remorse, boredom and nostalgia. The analysis uses two different perspectives. First of all, a hermeneutic one working on the meaning of these sufferings and showing their roots in a philosophical anthropology and in an ontology. Secondly, a therapeutic point of view showing how these suffering can help becoming more harmoniously. Based on this analysis, this thesis concludes on an analysis of joy. The analysis of remorse permits to seize the fundamental love dynamic at work in joy. The analysis of boredom and nostalgia provide the temporal part of it.

Alice’s becoming, as becoming simultaneously larger and smaller, provides the oppor-‐‑ tunity to diagnose the present through a phenomenon more “current” than ever: Tiqqun’s “Jeune-‐‑Fille” (young girl), which today is amplified by social networks. At the same time, Alice’s becoming indicates a political strategy that is rigorously untimely, which means inclined to find singular virtualities that escape the chronology of the commodification of the time of existence. Following Deleuze’s Logic of Sense, but also projecting it onto the present (hence in-‐‑actualizing it), the commodification of existence occurs first in chronological time, which is why one says, “time is money”. This is the time of consumption, time that literally consumes itself, but it is also the time in which we consume and consume ourselves.

This essay suggests that parallels can be drawn between the work of Amelia Rosselli and Deleuze’s Alice. It is structured in three sections that aim to illustrate the points of comparison between Rosselli’s poetry and Deleuze’s interpretation of Carroll’s character. The first part focuses on the women described in the poems – each one seeming to embody a certain aspect of the author’s personality – while the second shows the peculiarities of the places where these women live. There seems to exist a very peculiar relationship between the unsettled identity of Rosselli’s women and the world they inhabit, and Deleuze’s Alice provides a key to understanding these two unsettled components of Rosselli’s poetry. Finally, the third part of the essay concentrates on the lapsus – a feature of Rosselli’s poetic language. Understood as a linguistic strategy, the lapsus seems to become another trait in common between the two poles of the study.

Our paper aims at examining the relevance correlations existing between the search for identity and the search for writing in the process of literary creation. The corpus consists of a series of interviews given by the writer Danny Laferrrière, a prominent figure characterised by a peculiar identity who assumes and transgresses multiple forms of belonging to a literary genre. The maverick writer’s polemical position regarding the critical reception of his work brings the fight for identity to the very forefront of the creative process. The goals of literature in XXIst century along with the complex act of becoming a contemporary writer are questioning the linguistic, cultural, social and national legitimacy with regard to the writing process in itself.

Ada is a 12 year-old girl who has been impregnated by her teacher in a Middle School where corruption and debauchery are normalized. Mintsa's esthetics condenses a social criticism of phallocentric discourse through Ada's grandfather, Afane Obame, a high priest of the Ancestor's rite called Melan, whose primary focus is to further establish his power. He normalizes Ada's pregnancy, as tradition dictates, and serves as a receptacle through which Mintsa's narrative displays a shocking picture of discarded and decomposing placentae along outside walls of the Maternity Ward like graffiti. An allegorical reading of Plato's Chora, as it relates to Ada's parturition, opens up a narrative that actualizes the fluidity of a symbiosis between traditional and modern cultural practices. The overlapping imagery of the repulsive wall of decomposing placentae and the symbiotic cultural practices end in a mirror within a mirror graphism with colorful disjunctive syntheses. The articles presented here aim at seeing how photographic vision shaped Virginia Woolf’s literary aesthetics, her relation to language and characterisation, and her approach of literary representation and life writing. Woolf’s relation to photography is threefold: she practices the art of mechanical reproduction (taking and developing photographs, making photo albums), a praxis which is enriched by a strong family heritage and fostered by the contemporary Kodak culture; she is immersed in a photo culture which embraces 19th-century and 20th-century aesthetics, and nurtures her theoretical and literary reflexions; and she uses photo images as rhetorical tools in the iconotexts she publishes with the Hogarth Press. Focusing on Woolf studies on photography, Julia Margaret Cameron’s legacy, the intricate links between photography and biographical writing, and interruptive stylistics in Jacob’s Room, the four contributions further Maggie Humm’s pioneering work and provide renewed perspectives on Woolf’s complex relation to photography.

This study investigates the role of names in Parmenides as a means of tackling the broader question of the philosophical scope of the Eleatic poem. Considering the fact that the poem examines being and becoming, the study explores the connection between names, being and becoming. The general argument is structured as follows : the first part challenges some interpretative claims about names and the second part furnishes a new interpretation of names. The first part begins by outlining the tenants and what is at stake in the inquiry on names in relation to the eleatic poem. Then, it analyzes some modern interpretations that seek to link names with becoming and that, by doing so, attribute to Parmenides a skepticism about names. Because of this and in order to re-evaluate the scope of names, the study raises several objections against the skeptical interpretation by analyzing the ancient sources and interpretations about language in Parmenides and their influence on modern interpretations of names. The second part offers a systematic scrutiny of the fragments about names that challenges the skeptical reading. The study's novelty lies in the fact that it shows that names function both with being and becoming. Moreover, the study pinpoints that the systematic signification of names has cosmogonic, astronomical and embryological features. The study give some precise exemples about how names explain such diverse features. Finally, it is shown how names are not restricted to becoming and that the names are also used in some crucial arguments of the section on being. 22. Eternal recurrence in a Neo-Kantian context

In this essay, I argue that someone who adopted a falsificationism of the sort that I have attributed to Nietzsche would be attracted to the doctrine of eternal recurrence. For Nietzsche, to think the becoming revealed through the senses means falsifying it through being. But the eternal recurrence offers the possibility of thinking becoming without falsification. I then argue that someone who held Nietzsche's falsificationism would see in human agency a conflict between being and becoming similar to that in empirical judgment. In the light of this conflict only the eternal recurrence would offer the possibility of truly affirming life. I end by discussing how this reading of the eternal recurrence solves a number of puzzles that have bedeviled interpreters.

Cet article se penche sur la problématique du sujet chez Nerval, ou plutôt de l’a-sujet, étant donné que la notion même de sujet disparaît. À travers une lecture des Filles du feu et d’Aurélia, je suggère que Nerval rejette la conception d’un sujet transcendantal comme centre synthétisant. L’esthétique désubjectivante de Nerval remplace le sujet par le devenir, tel que l’ont pensé Deleuze et Guattari. Pour Nerval, on ne cesse de devenir, tout et personne, à la fois et perpétuellement., This article turns to the problem of subjectivity in Nerval, rather the question of the asubject, given that the notion of the subject itself disappears. Through readings of Les Filles du feu and Aurélia, I argue that Nerval rejects the conception of a transcendental subject as a center of synthesis. Nerval’s aesthetics of desubjectivation replaces the notion of the subject for that of becoming, as theorized by Deleuze and Guattari. For Nerval, one never ceases to become, becoming everything and no one, perpetually and at the same time.

Este artigo relata o processo de investigação para a construção e aplicação de um conjunto de atividades relacionadas à temática água, em um Colégio de Curitiba. Os atores desta investigação são estudantes do Ensino Médio que moram e estudam perto de um curso d'água conhecido como Valetão da Rua Henry Ford. Discutimos, a partir do conceito deleuzeano de devir, o interesse/desinteresse instituídos sobre este valetão, com o objetivo de infectar, dissolver, desconstruir o que foi apagado nas vidas desses estudantes, moradores da comunidade e promover a mobilização para a revitalização do que é de fato, um rio, o rio Pinheirinho.This paper reports the investigation process to build and test a group of activities related to water in a Curitiba High School. The subjects of this study are High School Students who live and study close to a body of water known locally as Sewer channel of Henry Ford street. Based on the deleuzean concept of becoming we discussed the students' interests / disinterests in this body of water. The objective was to infect, dissolve, demolish what was removed from the lives of the students and inhabitants of the community and promote the mobilization to revitalize what is in fact a river, the Pinheirinho river.

This paper will explore the possibility of a creative philosophy of history in the work of Gilles Deleuze. It will do so by focusing on Deleuze’s concepts of ‘intensity’ and ‘depth’, as discussed in his seminal work Difference and Repetition. By analysing these concepts in light of several historical thinkers whom Deleuze significantly draws upon (Bergson, Péguy and Braudel), I will show in this paper how Deleuze promotes a theory of history that is not opposed to his philosophy of becoming and creativity, but in concert with it.

O presente trabalho fala de um relato sobre os jovens pobres inscritos em uma experiência de formação profissional em uma unidade militar no Rio de Janeiro. Pretendemos apontar como a instauração de uma pesquisa em devir, implicada com outro modo de conhecer, era a expressão das rupturas, das intensidades, dos atravessamentos, da recusa à neutralidade, sobre o saber e o fazer da psicologia e da educação, e que nos constituía no instante da pesquisa. Tomamos, como referente na produção de um modo sensível de pesquisar, alguns conceitos-ferramentas da Análise Institucional, fundamentais para pôr em análise este estabelecimento militar que atravessa e produz um "modo-jovem-trabalhador". Destacamos, expressivamente, que a produção de conhecimento se deu no momento em que tentávamos desconstruir saberes e práticas que os jovens experimentavam no projeto, objetivando potencializar sentidos múltiplos, diversos, a partir do diálogo, da experiência e dos encontros potentes com eles. O diário de campo, uma das ferramentas da Análise Institucional, ao traduzir o cotidiano denso trazido pelos jovens, nos permitiu o registro de memória sobre tantas vidas, não apenas a nossa, também a dos educadores e a dos responsáveis pelo projeto.The present work discusses a report on poor youngsters registered in a vocational training experience at a military unit in Rio de Janeiro. We intend to show how the instauration of a research, implied with another manner of knowing, was the expression of ruptures, intensities, de-centering, refusal of neutrality, about the knowing and making of psychology and education, and which constituted us as the research was carried out. As reference in the production of a sensitive way of doing research, we use some concept-tools from Institutional Analysis to analyze this military academy that de-centralizes and produces "young-worker-mode". Highlighting, expressively, that the production of knowledge occurred when we attempted to deconstruct knowledge and practices which the youngsters experimented in the project, aimed to potentialize multiple and diverse meanings, on the basis of dialogue, experience and the potent meetings we had with them. The field notebook, one of Institutional Analysis' tools, by registering the dense daily life of youngsters, enabled us to record the memory of so many lives, not only ours, but of the educators too and of those in charge of the project.

Virginia Woolf’s modernist animals affected Deleuze and Guattari’s animal philosophy, as they describe in A Thousand Plateaus. This essay focuses on the significance of these references to Woolf’s aesthetics for Deleuzian philosophy, whilst also considering how we can better understand Woolf’s exploration of animality (with specific reference to Between the Acts) through close engagement with Deleuze’s conceptual framework (in particular ‘becoming-animal’ and ‘de-’ and ‘re-territorialisation’). In mapping various appearances of one of the oldest domesticated animals—cows—in the work of both, the essay builds an argument about the shared bovine territory in their writings and the ontological and ethical implications of this. As such, it stakes new territory for Woolf studies in the fields of animal studies and contemporary philosophy.

In this essay the word "translation" is gradually replaced by "version". The great difference between them is that "translation" can only function to designate what is meant in the target language one is translating into, whereas "version" may express both the original in the foreign language and the end result in the translator's native tongue. For the original is here described as that which, at each attempt to reach it, to find it, withdraws, becomes vacant, and always indicates what concerns simultaneously the original text and the final one, and which is the source and end of any translation or version. In the world of versions, everything "starts to rotate", as in a verse of Jules Supervielle. It is this "versatile humor" that this study intends to describe, dealing with Aristotle, Deleuze, Levinas and Agamben, taking a poem of Eichendorff as example, more precisely its first line about the return of spring. Ce mémoire de maîtrise porte sur l’expérience de l’impossible dans deux documentaires, sollicitant et remontant divers matériaux d’archives familiales, dans lesquels a lieu l’épreuve de la perte d’un être cher. L’expérience de l’impossible qu’on nommera aussi, s’inspirant de Gilles Deleuze, le « devenir » serait un engagement, une attitude, une éthique pour appréhender, reconnaître et participer « autrement » au monde. Dans les cas d’étude proposés, il s’agirait – en s’appuyant sur les concepts, théorisés par Jacques Derrida, de « don » et d’« événement », comme deux figures de l’impossible – de transformer le rapport communément associé à la perte (du côté de la nostalgie, de la souffrance, du désespoir) en une autre disposition, celle du « devenir », davantage capable d’accepter, de recevoir « ce qui arrive » en amorçant une nouvelle expérience du réel et de la réalité. C’est en défendant l’idée que le « devenir » trouverait en le cinéma son médium idéal – en tant qu’il est le lieu d’un partage et d’une transmission – que j’analyserai la manière dont il se déploie dans Un’ora sola ti vorrei (Alina Marazzi, 2002) et de Mort à Vignole (Olivier Smolders, 1998). En effet, si l’expérience cinématographique est toujours l’espace d’une rencontre agissant, de manière directe, sur la perception et les multiples sensations du spectateur (comme capacité à accueillir ce qui restait de l’ordre de l’inattendu, de l’inédit, de l’improbable) je m’intéresserai à comment celui-ci parviendrait à s’envisager à travers l’expérience de ce débordement. En somme, à comment le cinéma – et plus spécifiquement à des films traitant de l’épreuve douloureuse d’une perte – donnerait à vivre l’expérience de l’impossible et comment celle-ci s’instaurerait comme un regard neuf pour engager une nouvelle présence au monde., This master thesis examines the experience of the impossible in two documentaries, reassembling and reagencing family archives material (home-movies, photographs, diaries), in which there is an experience of loss and mourning. The experience of the impossible that I'll also refer to as 'becoming' - from Gilles Deleuze's designation - will be considered as a committment, an attitude, an ethic to apprehend, acknowledge and to engage a 'wholly otherwise' presence in the world. This case study will analyze, refering to Jacques Derrida's concepts of 'gift' and 'event', both considered as figures of the impossible, how the relation commonly associated to the experience of loss (holding on to nostalgia, suffering, despair) can be transformed into a new disposition more capable to accept and welcome 'what comes'. This last ability would, therefore, initiate a new experience of the reality. It is by defending the notion of 'becoming' – as an intrinsic feature within the film medium and as an exemplary space of 'distribution of the Sensible' – that I will study its incedences in Un'ora sola ti vorrei (Alina Marazzi, 2002) and in Mort à Vignole (Olivier Smolders, 1998). If the film experience always supposes and implies an encounter acting directly on the perception of the spectator and his various sensations (as a capability to welcome, what was thenceforth, unexpected and unlikely) my interest will focus on how he could apprehend and embrace this new experience. International audience; At the beginning of the 13th century, Robert de Boron depicts in his Merlin the creation of the Antichrist : son of an incubus and a virgin, Merlin was designed to serve the devils' projects. However, God, sentient being facing the repentance of Merlin's mother, reversed his tragic destiny while offering him a gift of prophecy. Here begins the tormented life of the One who seeks to rid himself of his daemonic condition with the help of his zeal to perform God's work. Therefore, this providential path is rutted, strewn with obstacles whose lineage is the main impediment. Coming after the immense work of Jerôme Baschet, Martin Aurell and many others researchers, there is no need to prove anymore the considerable influence of kinship in the definition of social relationship, collective imagination and literary creation. Created without a man's seed, Merlin is designated by the periphrasis "enfant sans père"; a formula which is far from being insignificant since it annihilates his paternal filiation and consequently his lineage, and his heritage. Herewith, the text plays on the ambiguity of Merlin's marvellous birth, rejecting the spiritual kinships that he maintains respectively with the devil and God. Contrary to the text, the illuminations defend the different filiations of Merlin, that is why the kinship should be seen as an issue of his representations. On a number of fronts, the study of the illuminated manuscripts of the Merlin accounts for a counterintuitive game between textual ambiguity and visual ambivalence, with a great semantic richness.

Thèse présentée sous la forme d'une "thèse article"; Purpose: The ageing of the population is correlated with an increased number of more and more dependent elderly people requiring a professional help and a major support of their family caregivers to stay at home. The more and more important involvement of the caregivers can be at the origin of a burn-out, ending in an institutionalization. We studied the becoming of the subjects of 60 and more year’s old in the fall of a hospitalization in an acute care geriatric unit and if there was a link between a caregiver’s burn-out and a patient’s institutionalization.Methods: This is a retrospective study estimating a group of patients of 60 and more year’s old, living at home and having a natural caregiver, hospitalized in an acute care geriatric unit in the Departmental Gerontological Center.Results: The statistical analysis was made on 423 patients. 69.1 % of the patients return to home among which 47.9 % with professional help increased. 29 % of the patients are institutionalized at the release of the hospital, among which 24.1 % in EHPAD. We made a logistic regression model with univariated and multivariated analyses which prouves a statistically significant link between a caregiver’s burden and an institutionalization of the patient.Conclusion: This study underlines the necessity of improving a professional support for an optimal homecare, to prevent the caregiver’s burden and the institutionalization of the patients.; Propos : le vieillissement de la population entraîne le maintien au domicile de plus en plus de personnes âgées dépendantes nécessitant une aide à la fois professionnelle et un soutien majeur de leurs aidants familiaux. La sollicitation croissante des aidants peut être à l’origine d’un épuisement, aboutissant à une institutionnalisation. Nous avons étudié le devenir des sujets de 60 ans et plus au décours d’une hospitalisation en court séjour gériatrique et s’il existait un lien entre un épuisement de l’aidant et l’institutionnalisation du malade. Méthode : il s’agit d’une étude rétrospective évaluant une cohorte de patients âgés de 60 ans et plus, vivant à domicile et ayant un aidant naturel, hospitalisés dans un service de court séjour au Centre Gérontologique Départemental.Résultats : l’analyse statistique a été effectuée sur 423 patients. 69,1% des patients retournent au domicile dont 47, 9% avec un plan d’aides professionnelles majoré. 29 % des patients sont institutionnalisés à la sortie de l’hôpital, dont 24,1% en EHPAD. En analyse par régression logistique univariée et multivariée, il existe un lien statistiquement significatif entre un épuisement de l’aidant et l’institutionnalisation du patient. Conclusion : cette étude souligne la nécessité d’assurer un soutien professionnel au domicile optimal, afin de prévenir l’épuisement des aidants naturels et l’institutionnalisation des patients.

Cet article s’intéresse à la possibilité d’une temporalité artistique intempestive, plastique, c’est-à-dire à un temps extraordinaire différant du temps ordinaire et qui garderait vive ou vivante la capacité de l’art à faire évènement, à reconfigurer le temps ou à franchir la clôture de l’Histoire. Cette temporalité qui garde en réserve de l’événement ou cet événement qui, hors des catégories ontologiques traditionnelles, garde du temps en réserve, est ici placé sous le signe de la transformation intempestive des formes, du devenir extraordinaire et des hétérochronies ou anomalies hétérochrones. Par opposition ou différenciation avec les schèmes ordinaires de la représentation du temps, il s’agit de saisir ce que l’art fait à notre sens de la temporalité en contrepoint de ce que l’Histoire fait à l’art. This article deals with the possibility of an untimely artistic temporality, that is to say of an extraordinary time differing from ordinary time, which would keep alive the capacity of art to become an event, to re-configure time or to reach beyond the limits of History. This temporality that keeps some event in reserve or this event which keeps time in reserve (outside traditional ontological categories) is here under the sign of the untimely transformation of forms, extraordinary becoming and heterochronies or heterochronous anomalies. In opposition with the ordinary schemes of our representation of time, it is a matter of seizing what art does to our sense of temporality as opposed to what History does to art.

Colonization and immigration create areas called “in-between spaces”. Limits betweencultures and identities in these “in-between spaces” are coming under some question.As a result, multiple cultural mixings are generating. As part of our research, wefocused specifically on two districts located in the city of Sousse, in the central-east of Tunisia, known as Gabadgi El Foukani and Gabadgi Loutani, or in Sicilian « Capaci Supra e Capaci Jusu3».These two districts take on Sicilian locality name, Capaci. The most interesting fact is that these places, not only, were built and occupied by mixed populations, mostly Sicilian immigrant, but also there were other communities well diversified in terms of nationalities and beliefs. These districts were then gradually reinvested by an exclusively Tunisian population.The historical and social context of these districts has led us to focus our attention on the relationship between ambiances, urban public space and the notion of cultural mixing. Verification of the hypothesis of persistent specific ambient characteristics is a real scientific challenge for this search. We have chosen the notion of cultural mixing more than another form of mixing since it presents itself as a temporal thought. We were therefore led to question the ambiences of the districts by apprehending the cultural mixing as becoming, as born transformation process of meeting others, and as an internalized experience over time.Our work methodology is deployed in three movements that have crossed and enrichedeach other: Observe & tell, describe, and experiment. The first two phases were moreconcentrated on working on the site. Dans le cadre de notre recherche nous nous sommes intéressé plus particulièrement à deux quartiers situés en Tunisie, dans la ville de Sousse, dont les noms sont Gabadgi El Foukani et Gabadgi Loutani , ou en sicilien « Capaci Supra e Capaci Jusu ». Ces deux quartiers portent le nom d’une localité sicilienne, Capaci. Le plus intéressant des faits est que ces lieux ont été construits et occupés par des populations mélangées, majoritairement siciliennes issues de l’immigration. Mais il y avait aussi d’autres communautés bien diversifiées du point de vue des nationalités et des croyances. Ces quartiers ont ensuite été progressivement réinvestis par une population exclusivement tunisienne.Le contexte historique et social de ces quartiers, nous a conduit à porter notre attention sur la relation entre les ambiances, l'espace public urbain et la notion de métissage. La vérification de l'hypothèse d'une persistance de caractéristiques ambiantales spécifiques constitue un réel enjeu scientifique pour cette recherche. Nous avons choisi la notion de métissage plus qu’une autre forme de mélange étant donné qu’elle se présente comme une pensée temporelle. Nous avons par conséquent été mené à interroger les ambiances des quartiers en appréhendant le métissage comme devenir, comme processus de transformation né de la rencontre de l’autre, mais aussi comme une expérience intériorisée vécue dans la durée.Notre méthodologie de travail s’est déployée selon trois mouvements, qui se sont croisés et enrichis mutuellement : observer et raconter, décrire, expérimenter. Les deux premières phases se sont plus concentrées sur le terrain, la troisième s’est présentée sous la forme d’une expérimentation développée sous l’égide d’une installation-projection.

Ce mémoire explore les productions et les articulations des appartenances au mouvement Slow Fashion sur Twitter. En réaction au modèle actuel prédominant du Fast Fashion, basé sur une surproduction et une surconsommation des vêtements, le Slow Fashion sensibilise les différents acteurs du secteur de la mode à avoir une vision plus consciente des impacts de leurs pratiques sur les travailleurs, les communautés et les écosystèmes (Fletcher, 2007) et propose une décélération des cycles de production et de consommation des vêtements. L’enjeu de cette recherche est de montrer que le Slow Fashion se dessine notamment à travers les relations entres les différents acteurs sur Twitter et que l'ensemble de ces interactions prend la forme d'un rhizome, c’est-à-dire d’un système dans lequel les éléments qui le composent ne suivent aucune arborescence, aucune hiérarchie et n’émanent pas d’un seul point d’origine. (Deleuze & Guattari, 1976) Sur Twitter, les appartenances au Slow Fashion font surface, se connectent les unes aux autres par des liens de nature différente. Consommateurs, designers, entreprises, journalistes, etc., ces parties prenantes construisent collectivement le Slow Fashion comme mouvement alternatif à la mode mainstream actuelle. Mon cadre théorique s’est construit grâce à une analyse de la littérature des concepts de mode, d’identité et d’appartenance afin de mieux appréhender le contexte dans lequel le mouvement a émergé. Puis, j’ai également réalisé une étude exploratoire netnographique sur Twitter au cours de laquelle j’ai observé, tout en y participant, les interactions sur la plateforme abordant le Slow Fashion et/ou la mode éthique. Publiée sur ce blogue (http://belongingtoslowfashion.blogspot.ca), cette « creative presentation of research » (Chapman & Sawchuk, 2012) ne constitue pas une histoire présentant les prétendues origines de ce mouvement mais plutôt une photographie partielle à un certain moment du Slow Fashion. Construite tel un rhizome, elle n’a ni début, ni fin, ni hiérarchie. J’invite alors les lectrices/lecteurs à choisir n’importe quelle entrée et à délaisser toute logique linéaire et déductive. Cette exploration sera guidée par des liens hypertextes ou des annotations qui tisseront des connexions avec d’autres parties ou feront émerger d’autres questionnements. Il s’agit d’offrir une introduction aux enjeux que pose le Slow Fashion, d’ouvrir la voie à d’autres recherches et d’autres réflexions, ou encore de sensibiliser sur ce sujet., This research explores the productions and the articulations of belonging to Slow Fashion on Twitter. In reaction to the current model of the garments fashion industry, the Fast Fashion, based on overproduction and overconsumption, Slow Fashion aims at raising awareness of the actors of the fashion industry concerning the impacts of their practices on workers, communities, ecosystems (Fletcher, 2007) and suggests a deceleration of clothing production and consumption cycles. The aim of this research is to show how the relationships between the participants are surfacing on Twitter and how those interactions are organized as a rhizome ; a assemblage where elements and components don’t follow a tree-like hierarchy or linearity and don’t emanate from a single point of origin. (Deleuze & Guattari, 1976) On Twitter, Slow Fashion belongings emerge and connect to each other through different kind of links. Consumers, designers, companies, journalists, etc., collectively build the Slow Fashion as an alternative movement to the current hegemonic fashion model. My theoretical framework is based on a litterature analysis which explores the concepts of fashion, identity, and belonging in order to contextualize the emergece of Slow Fashion. I also conducted an exploratory netnographic study on Twitter : I observed and participated in interactions addressing Slow Fashion and/or ethical Fashion. The « creative presentation of research » (Chapman & Sawchuk, 2012) published in this blog (http://belongingtoslowfashion.blogspot.ca) does not propose a history of the Slow Fashion and its origins. Rather, it offers a partial picture of a certain moment of the movement. Build as a rhizome, this research has no beginning, no ending, no hierarchy. I invite readers to start by any entry point and to abandon any kind of deductive or linear logic. This exploration will be guided by hyperlinks or annotations that will connect to other parts or that will make emerge other questionings. It offers an introduction to the challenges of Slow Fashion, it opens the way for further research, other reflexions and the issues it raises.

Ce mémoire est l'occasion d'établir une courte généalogie des femmes vampires au cinéma, en mettant en avant la manière dont la figure de la femme vampire résonne avec celle de la femme fatale, dans la mesure où elle constitue à la fois une vision négative de la femme émancipée, tout en offrant une manière d’échapper au modèle féminin traditionnel. En me demandant si le vampirisme peut être une source de pouvoir émancipatoire pour les femmes, j’analyse attentivement Byzantium (2012) de Neil Jordan. À travers l’étude successive des deux personnages principaux, Clara et Eleanor, je montre comment le film résonne avec la généalogie des femmes vampires établie préalablement, ainsi qu’avec certains enjeux féministes. Surtout, l’accent est mis sur la manière dont les personnages féminins contestent le pouvoir masculin, à travers la performance des stéréotypes, pour Clara, et la prise de contrôle du récit, pour Eleanor. Enfin, je me concentre sur la manière dont, à travers des mouvements de devenirs, ces personnages sortent du cycle fatal de l’oppression masculiniste, qui mène habituellement à l’extinction de la femme vampire en fin de récit, mais qui ici aboutit à une tentative de réconciliation entre les sexes. Mon travail s’appuie sur de larges recherches concernant la figure du vampire, ainsi que sur les études féministes et gender studies relatives aux textes vampiriques. Je m’appuie également sur les réflexions de Judith Butler, les travaux deleuziens sur la notion de « devenir », et les considérations de Derrida sur le don., This master thesis is the opportunity to establish a short genealogy of vampire women on screen, highlighting how the figure of the vampire resonates with that of the femme fatale, since it is both a negative vision of the emancipated woman, while also providing a way to escape the traditional female model. Wondering if vampirism can be a source of emancipatory power for women, I analyze carefully Byzantium (2012, Neil Jordan). Through successive study of the two main characters, Clara and Eleanor, I show how the film resonates with the genealogy of vampire women established previously, as well as some feminist issues. Above all, the emphasis is on how the female characters are challenging male power, through the performance of stereotypes, for Clara, and through the takeover of the narrative, for Eleanor. Finally, I focus on how, through movements of becomings, these characters come out of the fatal cycle of masculinist oppression, which usually leads to the extinction of the female vampire at the end of the story, but here leads to an attempt at reconciliation between the sexes. My work is based on extensive research on the figure of the vampire, and women and gender studies relating to vampiric texts. I also rely on Judith Butler’s work, the deleuzian concept of “becoming”, and considerations on the gift by Derrida.

International audience; The present contribution aims to analyse Irish women’s engagement in the wake,during, and in the aftermath of the War of Independence against Britain (1919-21) through membership of the all-female revolutionary movement called Cumannna mBan. This organization was characterized by its social, cultural and religiousdiversity, which was federated under the Republican banner, to the detrimentof more militant agendas, notably feminism. Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari’sphilosophical analysis of the structure of the State and of the nature of oppositionmovements as developed in A Thousand Plateaus (1980) will provide a theoreticalexplanation for Cumann na mBan’s diversity and how it was born out of a colonial,male-dominated social model. Part One will describe the key features of thisdiversity by reference to the Deleuzian concept of the “Rhizome” characterized byits non-causal, non-linear structure. Part Two will focus on the different mannersin which Cumann na mBan can be considered as the expression of a “becomingwoman”,especially in the way it challenged the British State Appatarus in Irelandand its masculine nature with reference to the concept of “Faciality”. Finally, PartThree will stress the reasons why this common engagement of women was shortlivedby analyzing it as a “becoming-minoritarian” War Machine, the aim of whichis the question the legitimacy of a State Apparatus from the outside; in the caseof Ireland, the State remained identical in nature and structure – only its nationalidentity changed.; Le présent article est une analyse de l'engagement des femmes irlandaises dans l'organisation révolutionnaire féminine Cumann na mBan à la veille, pendant et après la guerre d'indépendance (1919-21). Hétérogénéité sociale, culturelle et religieuse sont les caractéristiques principales des membres d'un mouvement qui s'est fédéré autour de l'idéal républicain, au détriment d'autres revendications, féministes notamment. L'apport de la philosophie de Deleuze et Guattari à l'analyse politique de l'État et des mouvements d'opposition, notamment dans leur ouvrage Mille Plateaux (1980) permettra de définir les caractéristiques de cette diversité et de quelle manière elle se situe par rapport à une société dont le modèle dominant est à la fois colonial et masculin. La première partie dressera le tableau de cette hétérogénéité en se référant au concept de « rhizome », et, en particulier, à son caractère non-causal et non-linéaire. The experience of the research profession comes along with a rarely mentioned tension between collective issues related to the identity built by the group which the researcher belongs to, and individual issues referring to creative- and self-identity. This tension seems particularly at stake when the researcher faces novelty. We wish to address here another look at the definition of researcher's creativity and will proceed by taking into account of the process of discovery, by clarifying the links that intertwine discovery, creativity, serendipity and unexpectedness, and by relying on different descriptions, views, experiences and proposals, whether psychological, education science and neurosciences found in literature and reflected in evidences of experience. Our discourse is strongly based upon research currently undertaken by Anne Lieutaud on the experience of researchers who changed paradigm. Such experience appears a predicament with difficult confrontations and suffering, but also carries strong enlightenment, major transformations of the way of viewing the world, and develops new research questions. Reflective approach to the principal investigator of this article on her own experience also highlights that the calling into question and new creative processes at stake are deeply grounded into in-depth internal dynamics that intertwine perception of self, others and one's relation to the world. The relation to novelty and the ability to turn that relation into a creative act is thus shown to be essentially one of immanent perception, a kind of climax placed at the edge of perception, which holds a central role in the creative and interactive process of the researcher. To support this, we will discuss more specifically the creative process, and see how the theories and concepts of the Sensible offer a new understanding of the process at stake in the researcher's serendipity. In particular, the concept of becoming (befalling) helps better understand and better deal with one's availability to novelty during the creative process of researching., Il existe, dans l'expérience du métier de chercheur, une tension rarement évoquée entre enjeux collectifs participant de l'identité d'appartenance du chercheur, et enjeux créatifs qui forment en substance son identité singulière, et qui semble pourtant être au cœur des difficultés rencontrées face à la nouveauté. Nous souhaitons aborder ici un autre regard sur la définition de la créativité du chercheur en tenant compte du processus de découverte, en clarifiant les liens qui font s'entrelacer découverte et créativité, inattendu, hasard heureux et inédit, en nous appuyant sur différentes descriptions, points de vue, expériences, propositions, qu'elles soient psychologiques, en sciences de l'éducation ou en neurosciences. Ces différentes perspectives enrichissent les modèles heuristiques classiques initiés par Wallas en 1936 et repris dans les années 1990 par Csikszentmihalyi ou Moustakas. Nous nous appuierons également sur la recherche que mène actuellement Anne Lieutaud auprès de chercheurs ayant muté de paradigme, délicate situation de confrontations fortes et de souffrances, qui sont aussi parfois œuvres de libération, d'illumination et de transformation majeure d'une manière de voir le monde et de concevoir ses questions de recherche. Des parcours de chercheurs révèlent que, au détour d'une compréhension radicalement nouvelle ou d'une bifurcation d'itinéraire scientifique, leur référentiel paradigmatique a été ébranlé, transformé, réorganisé. Pendant ce processus, l'univers des croyances antérieures se dévoile, en même temps que de nouveaux possibles s'ouvrent dans une créativité renouvelée. La démarche réflexive de la chercheuse principale de cet article, sur sa propre expérience, met également en évidence que cette remise en cause et ces processus nouveaux de créativité, s'appuient en profondeur sur des dynamiques internes qui entremêlent perception de soi, des autres et de son rapport au monde. Le rapport à la nouveauté et la capacité d'en faire un acte créatif se révèlent ainsi être par essence un acte de perception immanent, une sorte de paroxysme infiniment ténu, qui lui confère une place centrale dans le processus créatif et interactif du chercheur. Pour étayer cela, nous aborderons plus spécifiquement, le processus créatif, ce qu'en dit la littérature, la place du Sensible dans le processus de sérendipité du chercheur à travers notamment son concept de l'advenir, pour proposer une compréhension nouvelle de la disponibilité à la nouveauté dans le processus créatif en recherche.

Cet article étudie les affects spécifiques des chasseurs Huni Kuin à partir de la combinaison de deux concepts : celui d’« agentivité » et celui de « devenir » emprunté à Deleuze et Guattari. Il y a pour les Huni Kuin une continuité entre la chasse et certaines maladies. Ce sont les mêmes agents qui contrôlent ces maladies et le gibier. Nous montrons dans cet article comment se pense et se construit cette continuité et quelle en est la conséquence sur le quotidien du chasseur. Questionnant avec J.-C. Breton les situations anthropologiques nouvelles qui interpellent la vie spirituelle, cette étude en propose une approche sous l’angle de la symbolisation. Une lecture de la symbolisation à partir de la structure même du symbole précède l’analyse de son usage psychanalytique selon Winnicott, avec ses notions d’espace potentiel et de phénomènes transitionnels. Suit l’exposé de points clés du témoignage de Marcel Légaut sur la vie spirituelle. La partie synthèse détaille trois éléments clés de la symbolisation : la brisure-faille, la créativité-accueil et le passage à un autre niveau. Deux niveaux de symbolisation, primaire et secondaire, complètent la trame partagée par la lecture de la psychanalyse et de la vie spirituelle. L’étude démontre que la symbolisation permet un passage en l’humain vers son propre mystère et celui de Dieu en lui. L’humain se présente alors comme être de symbolisation en devenir., Questioning with J.-C. Breton the new anthropological situations which call out to the spiritual life, this study proposes an approach under the angle of the symbolization. A reading of the symbolization from the structure of the symbol, precedes the analysis of its psychoanalytical use according to Donald W. Winnicott, with his notions of potential space and transitional phenomena. Follows the presentation of key points of Marcel Légaut's testimony on the spiritual life. The synthesis part details three key elements of the symbolization: the crack-fault ligne, the creativity-welcoming and the passage to another level. Two levels of symbolization, primary and secondary sector, complete the weft shared by the reading of the psychoanalysis and the spiritual life. The study demonstrates that the symbolization allows a passage into the human being towards his own mystery and that of the God in him. The human being appears then as a being of symbolization in the process of becoming.

46. Becoming of childhood's obstetrical plexopathies in Cotonou.

Obstetrical paralysis of the brachial plexus (OPBP) is one of the most handicaping pathologies of the thoracic member of childhood in African environment with diverse repercussions on the family [1] . Objective Estimate becoming of children affected by OPBP. Method Transverse Study with descriptive and analytical aim, about 109 cases of OPBP followed in the department of Functional Reeducation and Rehabilitation (DFRR) of the CNHU-HKM of Cotonou from January, 2000 till December, 2009. These children were seen again in 2013 for the evaluation of their social and clinical becoming (articular mobility, strength and muscular trophicity). Results The annual average frequency of the OPBP was 10.9. Cases were dominant with boys (54 %) and on the right thoracic member (57 %). The children are from 3 to 15 years old. The risk factors of OPBP were: multiparity (90 %), birth weight more than 4000 g (78 %), childbirth by low way (87 %), cephalic presentation (57 %). An average of 22 sessions of physiotherapy by child was made. The evolution of the clinical status was an improvement (50 %), a status quo (27 %) and a worsening (23 %). The clinical becoming was the obstinacy or the occurrence of orthopaedic deformations of thoracic member (15–40 %), limitation of joint motion (27 %), muscular atrophy (24 %), muscular paresis (61 %), various functional limitations observed on the thoracic member (13–53 %). Professional becoming of the children does not seem to be mortgaged: 83 % were schooled and 17 % apprenticed. Discussion/conclusion Different strategies of taking care about OPBP remain still limited: diverse deficiencies persist at these child's. Prevention has to be the key word. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Diverses relations humano-végétales se profilent au coeur des pratiques de l’Association pour la recherche en anthropologie de médecine traditionnelle (ARAM) camerounaise. Une approche anthropologique d’orientation phénoménologique et cosmologique du devenir est dessinée afin d’aborder ces modalités d’entrées en relation avec le végétal. L’article explore ces modes à travers trois espaces-temps permettant d’approfondir une compréhension du phénomène des intensités fluctuantes dans les relations humains-plantes. Dans le premier espace-temps, sur le site opérationnel de l’ARAM, dans le quartier Étoa, en périphérie de Yaoundé, au Cameroun, se trouvent des plantes utiles vivantes ou séchées accompagnant les pratiques de guérison quotidiennes. Les deuxième et troisième espaces-temps correspondent respectivement au site de la forêt reboisée et au site de la forêt ancestrale à proximité de l’antenne Lamal-Pouguè de l’ARAM, qui est située à quelque cent kilomètres au nord de la ville, en direction de Douala. Là, les plantes font appel au guérisseur ou le guérisseur les interpelle lui-même dans sa quête de remèdes. Des relations encore plus révérencielles avec le végétal s’instaurent, notamment avec les arbres ancestraux, desquels on peut puiser puissance et joie., Diverse human-plant relations are maintained amidst the practices of the Cameroonian Association of Research in Anthropology of Traditional Medicine (ARAM). An anthropology of becomings in phenomenological and cosmological orientations is designed to address these lively modalities of entering in relation with the vegetal. The text explores these modes through three spatiotemporal figurations enabling to comprehend the phenomena of fluctuating intensities in human-plant relations. In the first space-time in the operational site of ARAM in the district of Etoa of the periphery of Yaoundé, in Cameroon, useful live and dried plants take part in everyday healing practices. The second and third spatiotemporalities correspond respectively with the replanted forest and the ancestral forest at the proximity of ARAM’s Antenna (base) Lamal-Pouguè situated at some 100 km north of the city, in the direction towards Douala. There, plants call the healer, or he calls upon them in search of remedies. Even more reverential relations with the vegetal are established with ancestral trees, from which we can seek potency and joy., Diversas relaciones humano-vegetales se perfilan en el seno de las actividades de la Asociación de investigación antropológica de las medicinas tradicionales (ARAM) de Camerún. Una perspectiva antropológica de orientación fenomenológica y cosmológica del devenir se perfila con el fin de abordar las formas de relacionarse con lo vegetal. Este artículo explora dichas formas a través de tres espacios-tiempos que permiten profundizar la comprensión del fenómeno de las intensidades fluctuantes en las relaciones humanos-plantas. El primer espacio-tiempo es el sitio operacional de la ARAM, en el barrio Étoa en periferia de Yaounde, en Camerún, donde se encuentran plantas útiles vivas o secas que se emplean en las prácticas curativas cotidianas. El segundo y tercero espacio-tiempo son, respectivamente, un sitio de bosque reforestado y a un sitio en el bosque ancestral cercano a la Antena Lamal- Pouguè de la ARAM, situada a unos cien kilómetros al norte de la ciudad, en dirección de Douala. Ahí, las plantas apelan al curandero o bien el curandero las interpela en búsqueda de remedio. Relaciones aún más respetuosas con lo vegetal se instauran especialmente con los árboles ancestrales, de los que se pueden obtener poder y felicidad.

En trois préambules et dix thèses, je considère la signification de « devenir-plante » en approfondissant le sens du devenir, de la végétalité et de leur imbrication mutuelle. Ces réflexions tournent, par ailleurs, autour de la figure de rotation dénotée dans le verbe latin vertere, même si elles remontent à la pensée grecque antique du devenir selon les voies parallèles de la métamorphose et du métabolisme, un changement de forme spatial et un changement temporel de trajectoire. La leçon pratique et philosophique de ces thèses est qu’il n’y a pas de devenir sans l’arrondi — sinon la circularité — du tournement ; qu’il ne s’agit pas d’une ligne directe d’ici à là, mais d’une route faite de détours et de va-et-vient (de l’être et du néant, de la progression ou de la digression dans une série et dans une boucle…) ; et que se tourner en (ou avec les) plantes est se tourner en (ou avec le) tournement, en osant devenir le devenir lui-même., In three preambles and ten theses, I consider the meaning of “becoming-plant” by fleshing out the sense of becoming, of vegetality, and of their mutual imbrication. These reflections turn, moreover, around the figure of turning denoted in the Latin verb vertere, even as they reach back to the ancient Greek thinking of becoming along the parallel tracks of metamorphosis and metabolism, a spatial change of shape and a temporal change of trajectory. The practical and philosophical lesson of the theses is that there is no becoming without the rounding, if not the roundaboutness, of turning; that it is not a direct line from here to there but a route made of detours and a back-and-forth (of being and nothing, progression or digression in a series and in a loop…); and that to turn into (or with) plants is to turn into (or with) the turning, daring to become becoming itself., En tres preámbulos y diez tesis, interrogo el significado de «volverse-planta» mediante el refuerzo del significado del volverse, de la vegetalidad y de su mutua imbricación. Estas reflexiones giran en trono de la figura del vuelco que designa el verbo latín vertere, reflexiones que remonta al pensamiento griego antiguo del volverse según las vías paralelas de la metamorfosis y del metabolismo, un cambio espacial de la forma y un cambio temporal en la trayectoria. La lección práctica y filosófica de estas tesis es que no hay volverse sin el redondeo, si la redondez de la curva; no se trata de un linea directa entre aquí y allá, sino de un itinerario hecho de retornos, de ir y venir (del ser y de la nada, de la progresión o de la disgresión en serie o en bucle…); y transformarse en (o con las) plantas, es transformarse en (o con el) vuelco, osando volverse el volverse mismo.

Les chemins du jihad sont multiples et se dessinent largement par-delà le processus linéaire de radicalisation propre à la majorité des études sur le sujet à la recherche de causes. Cette contribution raconte les multiples enchevêtrements, allers-retours et bifurcations de ces voies empruntées par des Canadiens, Français et Belges, dont les lignes de fuite ont abouti ou pas à des devenirs-jihad. L’objectif étant de comprendre comment ces acteurs en arrivent à désirer l’engagement jihadiste. Comment en sont-ils affectés et donnent-ils un sens à tout cela ? Un désir aux multiples (re)territorialisations qui, parfois, peut tourner en abolition mortuaire ou pas. En s’inspirant de l’approche rhizomique et schizo-analytique de Deleuze et Guattari, ce texte décrit les agencements de lignes qui traversent le champ social et les acteurs en une chorégraphie de ruptures, de bifurcations, d’enchevêtrements, de sauts, de dé-re-territorialisations, d’arrêts, etc., à partir de 25 récits de vie. Une cartographie des lignes molaires, souples et de fuite ainsi que des intensités (affects) ; des agencements machinés, des machines sociales, abstraites, désirantes, de guerre, faisant apparaître les multiples possibilités d’existence… toute une machine-jihad., There are multiple paths to jihad, most of which take place outside the linear process of radicalization described in studies of its cause. This article discusses the multiple entanglements, back and forth movements, and bifurcations in the paths of Canadians, French, and Belgians, paths whose vanishing points culminate in a decision about whether or not to undertake jihad. The goal is to understand how these individuals came to want to engage with jihad. How were they affected by it and how did they make sense of this desire, which involves multiple (re) positionings that can sometimes lead to the mortuary. Using Deleuze and Guattari’s rhizomic and schizo-analytical approach, I describe the arrangement of these lines, which move across the social field and its actors in a choreography of ruptures, bifurcations, entanglements, jumps, re-territorializations, stops, etc., as they emerge from the life narratives of 25 participants. This is a mapping of solid masses of lines, flexible lines, and lines of flight as well as intensities (affects) ; machine assemblages and machines that are social, abstract, desiring, war machines, revealing the multiple possibilities of existence… a whole jihad-machine., Los caminos hacia la yihad son múltiples y van mucho más allá del proceso lineal de radicalización típicamente descrito por los estudios de sus causas. Este artículo relata los múltiples enredos, los movimientos de ida y vuelta y las bifurcaciones de los caminos tomados por canadienses, franceses y belgas, cuyos puntos de fuga culminan en la decisión de convertirse o no en yihadistas. El objetivo es entender cómo estos actores llegan a querer implicarse en la yihad. ¿Cómo se ven afectados y cómo dan sentido a un deseo que implica múltiples (re)territorializaciones y que, a veces, puede conducir a la morgue ? A partir del enfoque rizómico y esquizoanalítico de Deleuze y Guattari y de las 25 historias de vida de los participantes, el artículo describe los actores y la disposición de las líneas que atraviesan el campo social, dando lugar a una coreografía de rupturas, bifurcaciones, enredos, saltos, desterritorializaciones y paradas. Una cartografía de líneas molares, flexibles y de fuga, así como de intensidades (afectos) ; disposiciones maquinadas, sociales, abstractas, deseantes, máquinas de guerra, que revelan las múltiples posibilidades de la existencia… toda una máquina de la yihad.
