The magnetocaloric (MC) properties in many rare-earth (RE)-containing magnetic solids have been intensively investigated, which are aimed to develop suitable candidates for cryogenic magnetic cooling applications and to better understand their intrinsic magnetic characters. We herein fabricated the RE-rich RE6Ni2.3In0.7 (RE = Ho, Er, and Tm) compounds and investigated their structural, magnetic, and MC properties by experimental determination and theoretical calculations. All of these RE6Ni2.3In0.7 compounds crystallize in an Ho6Co2Ga-type structure with an orthogonal Immm space group and order magnetically around the temperatures of 10.6 and 33.0 K for Ho6Ni2.3In0.7, 11.0 K for Er6Ni2.3In0.7, and 7.6 K for Tm6Ni2.3In0.7, respectively. Large cryogenic reversible MC effects were observed in these RE6Ni2.3In0.7 compounds. Moreover, their MC parameters of maximum magnetic entropy changes, relative cooling powers, and temperature-averaged magnetic entropy change are comparable with those of some recently updated cryogenic MC materials. In the present work, we have investigated the structural response of transition metal double perovskite oxide Nd 2 CoFeO 6 under pressure by XRD and Raman spectroscopic measurements. From XRD data, we have observed a pressure-induced structural transition from the orthorhombic phase to the monoclinic phase at about 14.8 GPa. An anomalous increase in compressibility at a much lower pressure (∼ 1.1 GPa) is seen where no structural transition occurs. At about the same pressure, a sudden drop in the slope of the Raman shift is observed. Further investigation at low temperatures reveals that the B 1 g Raman mode is strongly affected by magnetic interactions. Additional high-pressure Raman experiments with the application of a magnetic field have indicated that the mentioned anomaly around 1.1 GPa can be explained by a high-spin to low-spin transition of Co 3 + . It is crucial to better understand the magnetization reversal process between soft and hard magnets and to achieve a high maximum energy product in thick composite multilayers. In this study, we find that the exchange interactions dominate in soft–hard-magnetic composite bilayers, while dipole interactions are predominant in soft–hard-magnetic composite trilayers. Based on the first-order reversal curve, magnetization reversal models are developed for both the thick composite bilayer and trilayer. Dipole interactions play an important role in the long range, resulting in higher coercivity and remanence in the thick trilayer. A multilayer in a stacked trilayer structure is achieved, which is composed of thick films with a perpendicular magnetic anisotropy at a thickness of up to 16 μm. The enhanced dipole interactions lead to a remanent polarization of 1 T and a maximum energy product of 22.5 MGOe. This article follows earlier studies on the physical origin of magnetic anisotropy and the means of controlling it in polynuclear transition metal complexes. The difficulties encountered when focusing a magnetic field on a molecular object have led to consider the electric field as a more appropriate control tool. It is therefore fundamental to understand what governs the sensitivity of magnetic properties to the application of an electric field. We have already studied the impact of the electric field on the isotropic exchange coupling and on the Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction (DMI). Here, we focus on the symmetric exchange anisotropy tensor. In order to obtain significant values of anisotropic interactions, we have carried out this study on a model complex that exhibits first-order spin–orbit coupling. We will show that (i) large values of the axial parameter of symmetric exchange can be reached when close to the first-order spin–orbit coupling regime, (ii) both correlated energies and wave functions must be used to achieve accurate values of the symmetric tensor components when the DMI is non-zero, and (iii) finally, an interferential effect between the DMI and the axial parameter of symmetric exchange occurs for a certain orientation of the electric field, i.e., the latter decreases in magnitude as the former increases. While DMI is often invoked as being involved in magneto-electric coupling, isotropic exchange and the symmetrical anisotropic tensor also contribute. Using commercially available components, a compact laboratory-type prototype has been developed and assembled to demonstrate single and multicaloric effects arising from single and cyclic applications of magnetic fields and uniaxial mechanical loads. Using the example of the LaFe11.4Mn0.3Si1.3H1.6 alloy with a first-order phase transition near room temperature, the possibility of observing magnetocaloric, elastocaloric, and multicaloric effects is demonstrated. It is shown that by selecting protocols for applying combined external influences: magnetic field and mechanical load, it is possible to observe a synergistic effect for adiabatic temperature change, which amounts to 1.17 K (0.31 T and 19 MPa) at a temperature of 291.5 K for the multicaloric effect, which exceeds the corresponding value of |ΔT| = 0.75 K (0.31 T) at a temperature of 291.65 K for the magnetocaloric effect. Electronic spins provide an additional degree of freedom that can be used in modern spin-based electronic devices. Some benefits of spintronic devices include nonvolatility, energy efficiency, high endurance, and CMOS compatibility, which can be leveraged for data processing and storage applications in today's digital era. To implement such functionalities, controlling and manipulating electron spins is of prime interest. One of the efficient ways of achieving this in spintronics is to use the electric field to control electron spin or magnetism through the voltage-controlled magnetic anisotropy (VCMA) effect. VCMA avoids the movement of charges and significantly reduces the Ohmic loss. This article reviews VCMA-based spintronic devices for magnetic memory applications. First, we briefly discuss the VCMA effect and various mechanisms explaining its physical origin. We then mention various challenges in VCMA that impede it for practical VCMA-based magnetic memory. We review various techniques to address them, such as field-free switching operation, write error rate improvement, widening the operation window, enhancing the VCMA coefficient, and ensuring fast-read operation with low read disturbance. Magnetic vortices have potential applications in the field of spintronics and medicine and studying their magnetic interactions is crucial for future applications. This work introduces a new method based on obtaining the gradient magnetic vortex echo (GMVE) using micromagnetic simulations following a magnetic resonance imaging protocol. The results show that it is possible to characterize the magnetic interaction of arrays of nanodisks, having equal diameter and vortex configuration, as a function of disk separation. This characterization was performed by creating an inhomogeneity in the system through the application of a magnetic field gradient perpendicular to the plane of the nanodisk array. The inhomogeneity allows refocusing the magnetization in a time-controlled way by inverting the sign of the gradient and obtaining the characteristic transverse relaxation time T 2 ∗ from the GMVE that contains the information on the magnetic interaction. Barkhausen noise is a type of magnetic noise that occurs due to the interaction of domain walls with defects. In magnetic sensor applications, this can be a detrimental phenomenon since it disturbs the signal. We study this noise using coupled micro-magneto-mechanical finite element simulations. To this end, we consider in the first step a thermodynamically consistent material model within the generalized standard material approach. In our material model, we include exchange, anisotropy, demagnetizing, Zeeman, and elastic energy. The coupling between mechanics and micro-magnetics is implemented via a magnetostrictive strain contribution. In the following step, we extend the material model to represent the full Landau–Lifschitz–Gilbert magnetization dynamics. For the model extension, we give a detailed exposition of the finite element implementation. In particular, we use a new modified leapfrog/Crank–Nicolson time integration scheme, which preserves the magnetization magnitude exactly. Furthermore, we showcase in detail the scheme for applying our material model to noise computation (based on ensemble averaging). Finally, we investigate various numerical examples based on the magnetostrictive material FeCoSiB to illustrate the different features of our approach. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Reliability and packing density concerns are the two major shortcomings of spin transfer torque and spin orbit torque based magnetic memory, respectively. Voltage controlled magnetic anisotropy (VCMA) becomes energy efficient and fast, showing transcendence for the writing mechanism in the magnetic tunnel junction. Deterministic switching cannot be achieved by VCMA alone in the out of plane nanomagnet. It requires an external in-plane magnetic field, but the use of an external field is inconvenient for on-chip applications. We exploit stress and exchange bias provided by an antiferromagnetic material to mitigate the external magnetic field requisite. We perform macro-spin simulations using the Landau–Lifshitz–Gilbert equation at room temperature. We use the VCMA effect cum stress effect to investigate field free switching performance, and this improves the write error rate (WER) to 5 × 10 − 5 against WER of 0.1 with the VCMA effect alone. We studied the effects of applied voltage (amplitude and pulse width), exchange bias field, and VCMA coefficient on the switching performance in detail. Real-time monitoring and quantitative measurement of molecular exchange between different microdomains are useful to characterize the local dynamics in porous media and biomedical applications of magnetic resonance. Diffusion exchange spectroscopy (DEXSY) is a noninvasive technique for such measurements. However, its application is largely limited by the involved long acquisition time and complex parameter estimation. In this study, we introduce a physics-guided deep neural network that accelerates DEXSY acquisition in a data-driven manner. The proposed method combines sampling pattern optimization and physical parameter estimation into a unified framework. Comprehensive simulations and experiments based on a two-site exchange system are conducted to demonstrate this new sampling optimization method in terms of accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency. Magnetic skyrmions are topologically protected spin textures with nanoscale dimensions. They hold great promises as the building blocks for new generations of racetrack memories and computing devices due to their prominent properties. However, skyrmionic devices fabricated within the framework of conventional lithography usually suffer from magnetic disorders at material boundaries where spin disorders can easily pin and destroy magnetic skyrmions. In the present work, a new paradigm is demonstrated that enables the precise patterning and control of micro‐scale skyrmion bubble devices using the domain walls rather than the physical boundaries of the material. Such a paradigm patterns the background magnetic domain to stage the skyrmion motion, which is precise, reconfigurable, nondestructive, and can resolve the conventional issues introduced by disorders. This paradigm is demonstrated by implementing a skyrmion diode using a precisely patterned asymmetric racetrack defined by magnetic domains. The interaction between a moving skyrmion and the staging domain walls is well understood by both skyrmion motion experiments and micromagnetic simulations. Integrating hyperthermia with conventional cancer therapies shows promise in improving treatment efficacy while mitigating their side effects. Nanotechnology-based hyperthermia, particularly using superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs), offers a simplified solution for cancer treatment. In this study, we developed composites of SPION quantum dots (Fe3O4) with reduced graphene oxide (Fe3O4/RGO) using the coprecipitation method and investigated their potential application in magnetic hyperthermia. The size of Fe3O4 nanoparticles was controlled within the quantum dot range (≤10 nm) by varying the synthesis parameters, including reaction time as well as the concentration of ammonia and graphene oxide, where their biocompatibility was further improved with the inclusion of polyethylene glycol (PEG). These nanocomposites exhibited low cytotoxic effects on healthy cells (CHO-K1) over an incubation period of 24 h, though the inclusion of PEG enhanced their biocompatibility for longer incubation periods over 48 h. The Fe3O4/RGO composites dispersed in acidic pH buffer (pH 4.66) exhibited considerable heating effects, with the solution temperature increasing by ~10 °C within 5 min of exposure to pulsed magnetic fields, as compared to their dispersions in phosphate buffer and aqueous dimethylsulfoxide solutions. These results demonstrated the feasibility of using quantum dot Fe3O4/RGO composites for magnetic hyperthermia-based therapy to treat cancer, with further studies required to systematically optimize their magnetic properties and evaluate their efficacy for in vitro and in vivo applications. This paper presents a small size and high-integration inductive displacement sensor used for magnetic bearings. This sensor is a circular ring structure fixed on radial direction of a magnetic bearing and can measure radial and axial displacement at the same time. Sensitivity results show that displacement detection along each direction will not be affected by others. Then, the proposed sensor is applied in closed-loop control of a magnetic bearing when the rotor is levitated and rotates at 40k, 50k, and 60k r/min. According to experiment results, radial and axial displacement vibrate noise can be controlled within ±10 μm and about ±10 μm, respectively, evaluating the feasibility of inductive displacement sensor in closed-loop control. Contribution of this paper is to explore application boundary and provide a guide of applicable speed for inductive displacement sensor, which will help to promote application of magnetic bearing in more fields. The high‐frequency alternating magnetic field (AMF) is considered as a fascinating heating treatment that provides a noninvasive solution to enhance the catalytic efficiency of electrocatalyst. However, practical applications of AMF in electrochemistry are primarily concentrated on magnetic mediums. To broaden its application into nonmagnetic catalysts, herein, a practicable method is reported by modifying the working electrode substrate with magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs), which serves as both substrate and self‐heating medium by virtue of its rapid and efficient magnetic heating effect associated with Néel relaxation triggered by external high‐frequency AMF, thus boosting the catalyst performance upon it. To verify it, Pt NPs and Pt single atoms (SAs), as two representative non‐magnetic catalyst, are selected for trials. The results, reveal that, when AMF is applied, Pt NPs@C/Fe3O4/C and Pt SAs@C/Fe3O4/C display remarkable enhancement of hydrogen evolution reaction magnetocurrent density respectively by ≈ 146% and ≈185%, whereas on unmodified bare glassy carbon there both show unnoticeable change in catalytic performance. Recently a large variety of non‐collinear spin textures have been revealed in various crystals with different symmetry groups. Of particular interest are crystals with D2d symmetry that exhibit a complex variety of stable and metastable spin textures that includes antiskyrmions, elliptical Bloch‐skyrmions, fractional‐antiskyrmions, fractional Bloch‐skyrmions, and type‐II trivial‐bubbles. The observation of these structures necessitates their stabilization via magnetic field and temperature protocols which demands a thorough understanding of their creation, transformation, and collapse dynamics. Utilizing the real‐space imaging capabilities of Lorentz transmission electron microscopy, the generation and annihilation of diverse spin textures in a single D2d Heusler compound are demonstrated. It is showed that antiskyrmions and elliptical Bloch‐skyrmions can be deformed into more elaborate elongated magnetic nano‐objects through a collapse mechanism. Their elongation is governed by the intrinsic antisymmetric Dzyaloshinskii‐Moriya vector exchange interaction and dipolar energy present in the system. Furthermore, antiskyrmions are found to be metastable at all temperatures on field‐cooling, while a topological phase transformation from elliptical Bloch‐skyrmions to antiskyrmions rather takes places on field‐heating. These results are corroborated by micromagnetic simulations and demonstrate the efficient manipulation of different spin textures in a D2d compound by varying field and temperature protocols and represents a critical step toward the application of magnetic skyrmions. Numerous works have reported that magnetic fields serve as signals capable of influencing microbial metabolism. However, little is known about the effect of magnetic field on erythritol production by the model microorganism Yarrowia lipolytica (Y. lipolytica). Therefore, we investigated the effect of low-frequency alternating magnetic fields (LF-AMF) with different magnetic field intensities (0–1.5 mT) and different magnetic field treatment times (1–10 days) on the production of erythritol by Y. lipolytica -JZ204. The optimal treatment condition was 0.5 mT for 8 days. As a result, a maximal erythritol yield was achieved 63.74 g/L, the biomass was reached 37 g/L, and the specific erythritol yield per unit of biomass was 1.7227 g/g, which were 60.72%, 32.09%, and 24.85% higher than the control, respectively. We investigated the internal mechanism of magnetic fields impact by using transcriptomics and RT-qPCR technology. This study demonstrated the effectiveness of LF-AMF in enhancing erythritol production by Y. lipolytica JZ-204, providing insights for the application of magnetic field in assisting microbial fermentation and improving the synthesis of beneficial products. This study developed a novel constructed wetland (CW) coupled with a magnetic field for treating domestic wastewater, and the magnetic field distribution was solved and optimised by the finite element method. Herein, we investigated the effects of optimising magnetic field optimisation and studied its impact on CW treatment performance and the responses of a microbial community. The optimisation results showed that the average magnetic field strength of the CW unit increases from 3 to 8 mT, and the proportion of areas with magnetic field strength greater than 5 mT also increases from 30% to 74%. The water quality analysis results showed that the removal of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and NH4+-N (p < 0.01) was significantly increased by the magnetic field (average 3 mT), increasing by 12.2% and 8.49%, respectively. Moreover, the removal of COD and NH4+-N (p < 0.01) was more significantly increased by M-VFCW(O) (average 8 mT), increasing by 15.58% and 49.1%, respectively. The magnetic field application shifted significantly the abundance of dominant bacteria in CWs. Relative abundance of dominant bacteria such as Proteobacteria (63.3%), Firmicutes (4.72%) and Actinobacteria (2.11%) that played an important role in organics removal and nitrification and denitrification-related bacteria such as Nitrospirae (1.48%) and Planctomycetes (9.58%) significantly promoted in M-VFCW(O). These results suggest that introducing a magnetic field into CWs may improve organics and nitrogen removal via the biological process, and the optimisation of the magnetic field was significant in enhancing the performance of VFCWs. Holmium (Ho)‐doped bismuth ferrite (BiFeO3) nanoparticles are synthesized using the citrate‐gel autocombustion method to investigate their structural, dielectric, ferroelectric, and magnetic properties. X‐Ray diffraction analysis confirms the formation of a rhombohedral perovskite structure, with crystalline size decreasing from ≈14 to 7 nm as doping levels increase. Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy further validates the perovskite phase, while field emission scanning electron microscopy and energy‐dispersive X‐Ray spectroscopy confirm the nanocrystalline nature and composition of the samples. X‐Ray photoelectron spectroscopy verifies the successful incorporation of Ho3+ ions into the BiFeO3 matrix. The dielectric properties show high permittivity and low dielectric losses, while magnetic hysteresis loops reveal enhanced magnetic properties, including increased saturation magnetization, remanence, coercivity, squareness ratio, Bohr magneton, and magnetocrystalline anisotropy. These findings indicate that Ho‐doped BiFeO3 nanoparticles exhibit significantly improved electric and magnetic performance, positioning them as promising candidates for applications in magnetic storage devices and sensors. Magnetic ionic liquids (MILs) are a subclass of ionic liquids that exhibit paramagnetic properties intrinsically, without the need for additional magnetic particles. These properties can be attributed to the cations, anions, or both. Typically, MILs incorporate transition or inner‐transition metals within the anion structure. These adaptable liquids demonstrate remarkable physicochemical properties, notably a robust response to external magnetic fields. The body of research concerning the synthesis, characterization, and practical applications of MILs has expanded swiftly in recent times. This review delves into the latest research on the synthesis, properties, and utilization of MILs across various domains, including catalysis, fluid‐fluid separation, polymer science, and analytical chemistry. Within the realm of analytical chemistry, MILs are pivotal, serving as solvents in various analytical procedures such as dispersive liquid‐liquid micro‐extraction, matrix solid‐phase dispersion, and single‐drop micro‐extraction. Owing to their paramagnetic nature, MILs are instrumental in the separation process, streamlining organic reactions by obviating the need for traditional extraction or centrifugation steps. Metal-bonded magnetic composites (MBMCs) present a promising alternative to dense sintered magnets, particularly for intricate components. Compared to polymer-based bonded magnets, MBMCs have wider applicability in harsh environments. In this paper, we demonstrate a solid-state shear-based manufacturing technique to introduce localized magnetization into a paramagnetic aluminum matrix by embedding SmCo5 permanent magnet particles. Our magnetic composites display hard magnetic behavior with a coercivity of 13 kOe and a remanent magnetization of 4.32 emu/g. In addition to magnetization, we also report a 9% improvement in Young's modulus. Despite the local temperature rise during processing, the magnetic phases didn't decompose into unwanted phases, preserving the composite's hard magnetic properties. Creation of an interfacial metallurgical bond with the matrix ensured the suitability of the composites for structural applications. Our study investigates the mechanical, and functional properties of composites, paving the way for lightweight structural magnetic composites with a transformative potential in the aerospace, nuclear, and automotive applications. This investigation is motivated by the surge of interest in materials, combining high spontaneous magnetization and pseudocapacitance at room temperature. Ferrimagnetic MnFe 2 O 4 offers benefits of high magnetization. However, the non-pseudocapacitive behavior, low capacitance and high resistance of MnFe 2 O 4 are limiting factors for its applications in magnetic pseudocapacitive devices. This investigation demonstrates that nearly ideal pseudocapacitive behavior can be achieved for MnFe 2 O 4 electrodes in Na 2 SO 4 electrolyte. High pseudocapacitance is observed in positive and negative potential ranges and two different charging mechanisms are proposed. High capacitance is achieved at a low impedance. The ability to achieve comparable and high areal capacitances in the positive and negative potential ranges facilitates the fabrication of a symmetric pseudocapacitive device, containing ferrimagnetic MnFe 2 O 4 as cathode and anode material for operation in enlarged voltage window of 1.6 V. The symmetric device shows capacitance of 0.92 F cm−2 at a current density of 3 mA cm−2. The individual electrodes and device show good cycling stability. The approach is based on the use of murexide and gallocyanine as redox-active dispersants and charge transfer mediators. The analysis of testing results provides an insight into the influence of chemical structure, charge and redox properties of the dispersants on the capacitive behavior. The ability to fabricate a pseudocapacitive device, containing two ferrimagnetic electrodes is promising for energy storage, water purification and novel applications based on magnetocapacitive effects. In this work, we investigate the influence of curvature on the dynamic susceptibility in FeGe nanowires, both curved and straight, hosting a skyrmionic tube texture under the action of an external bias field, using micromagnetic simulations. Our results demonstrate that both the resonance frequencies and the number of resonant peaks are highly dependent on the curvature of the system. To further understand the nature of the spin wave modes, we analyze the spatial distributions of the resonant mode amplitudes and phases, describing the differences among resonance modes observed. Increasing the efficiency of spin–orbit torque (SOT) is of great interest in applications for magnetic random access memory and logic devices due to decreased energy consumption. Here, we present that the SOT efficiency of Pt/Co/Ta films with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy can be improved by swift high-energy heavy Fe11+ ion irradiation, which is an effective method to alter crystallinity, interface roughness, and defects in ferromagnet/heavy metal heterostructures. Specifically, the Pt/Co/Ta films show an optimal SOT efficiency at ion fluence around 1.0 × 1013 ions/cm2 with the largest spin Hall angles reaching 0.59, which is the largest improvement of spin Hall angle by ion irradiation compared to previous studies using light ions. We demonstrate that the increase in SOT efficiency arises from structural changes in the Pt layer due to ion irradiation-induced damage effects at proper fluence, while the decrease in SOT efficiency is mainly attributed to the restoration of Pt crystallinity induced by beam-heating effects at high fluence. This work demonstrates that an appropriate ion irradiation process could improve the SOT efficiency and the spin Hall angle, thereby providing a way to develop future SOT-based spintronic devices. The magnetocaloric effect has been extensively investigated in various types of magnetic solids to not only develop practical magnetic cooling applications but also deepen the understanding of these materials' underlying inherent properties. Through experimental determination and theoretical calculation, we conducted a systematic investigation of Gd 4 Ga 2 O 9 oxide in terms of its structural, magnetic, and magnetocaloric properties and found it to crystallize in a monoclinic structure belonging to the space group P 2 1 / c and to possess an antiferromagnetic semiconducting ground state. The consistent elements were uniformly distributed up to the nanoscale and presented as Gd3+, Ga3+, and O 2 states, respectively. The magnetocaloric performances of Gd 4 Ga 2 O 9 oxide were checked according to the parameters of maximum magnetic entropy change, refrigerant capacity, and temperature-averaged entropy changes (lift of 5 K), which were determined to be 25.77 J/kgK, 218.27 J/kg, and 23.43 J/kgK under 0–7 T magnetic field change. These parameters of Gd 4 Ga 2 O 9 oxide are comparable to those of some recently reported materials with prominent performances, which means that it can be considered for cryogenic magnetic cooling applications. A computational study of the inception of positive wire-cylinder corona discharges in low-pressure air in crossed electric and magnetic fields is performed. The inception voltages are calculated for a wide range of gas densities, wire radii, and applied magnetic fields. Conditions are considered when the reduced electric fields at wire electrodes reach extremely high values of about 10 kTd. An expression applicable at such strong fields for the ionization coefficient, which is a key parameter of the corona inception model, is presented against the values of electric and magnetic fields. Calculated inception voltages agree with a large quantity of available experimental data on low-pressure positive corona discharges, obtained both with and without the application of magnetic fields. The calculation results describe specific details of the non-monotonous dependence of the inception voltages on the magnetic field values, similar to those obtained in experiments. Highlights A high filling load (62% weight) printable magnetic composite has been elaborated from the dispersion of magnetocaloric Ni45Mn36.7In13.3Co5 metamagnetic shape memory alloy microparticles into a PCL polymer matrix. The composite material has been prepared by solution method, resulting in a very homogeneous particles dispersion into the matrix. The structural transitions in the polymer are not affected by the addition of the metallic microparticles, which in turn results in a significant increase of the mechanical consistency. The good ductility of the elaborated composite allows its extrusion in flexible printable filaments, from which 3D pieces with complex geometries have been grown. The heat transfer of the composite material has been assessed from finite element simulation. In spite of the achievable magnetocaloric values are moderated with respect to the bulk, numerical simulations confirm that, in terms of heat transference, a PCL/Ni‐Mn‐In‐Co wire is more efficient than a bulk Ni‐Mn‐In‐Co cubic piece containing the same amount of magnetic active material. The quite good magnetocaloric response of the composite and the possibility to print high surface/volume ratio geometries make this material a promising candidate for the development of heat exchangers for clean and efficient magnetic refrigeration applications. 3D printable magnetic composites developed from dispersion of MSMA in PCL. The capability of bis(dioxolene) ligands to access multiple redox states makes them ideal candidates to tune the electronic properties of metal complexes, for example to achieve valence tautomerism (VT). In this study, a family of dinuclear cobalt complexes have been isolated with the bridging bis(dioxolene) thean− ligand in the cat2−‐cat2−, cat2−‐SQ⋅− and SQ⋅−‐SQ⋅− states (cat2−=catecholate, SQ⋅−=semiquinonate): [{CoIII(tpa)}2(theacat−cat)](PF6)2 (1), [{CoIII(tpa)}2(theacat−SQ)](PF6)3 (2), and [{CoIII(tpa)}2(theaSQ−SQ)](PF6)4 (3) (theaH4=2,3,6,7‐tetrahydroxy‐9,10‐dimethyl‐9,10‐dihydro‐9,10‐ethanoanthracene, tpa=tris(2‐pyridylmethyl)amine). Multi‐technique analysis confirms that 1, 2 and 3 adopt low spin‐CoIII containing {CoIII‐cat‐cat‐CoIII}, {CoIII‐cat‐SQ‐CoIII} and {CoIII‐SQ‐SQ‐CoIII} states, respectively. Compound 1 undergoes thermally‐induced {CoIII‐cat‐cat‐CoIII} ⇌ {CoIII‐cat‐SQ‐CoII} VT in the solid‐ and solution‐states above 300 K, involving high spin‐CoII. This interconversion is contrary to expectations, as tpa typically stabilizes low spin‐CoIII‐catecholate. Compound 2 is mixed‐valence class II/II–III, indicating a localized electronic structure, with electron transfer faster than the EPR and solvent rearrangement timescales, but slower than the infrared timescale. Compound 3 exhibits strong antiferromagnetic exchange. The overlap between the dioxolene π‐orbitals in thean− increases the accessibility of the cat2−‐SQ⋅− state, resulting in VT for 1. In this study, the enhancement of magnetic properties in Fe2O3 nanoparticles through nanostructural modification via carbon coating is investigated. Fe2O3 and carbon‐coated Fe2O3 nanoparticles are synthesized using the solvothermal method. Structural, morphological, optical, and magnetic properties are comprehensively analyzed. The results demonstrate a significant reduction in particle size upon carbon coating, effectively mitigating agglomeration. Furthermore, carbon‐coated nanoparticles exhibit substantial enhancement in coercivity, remanence, and saturation magnetization suggesting improved magnetic behavior in comparison to their uncoated counterparts. This enhancement is attributed to the prevention of spin misalignment at the nanoparticle surface by the carbon coating, as well as the formation of distinct magnetic domains due to the reduced particle size. The observed improvements underscore the effectiveness of carbon coating in tailoring the magnetic properties of Fe2O3 nanoparticles for applications in magnetic devices and biomedical systems, such as magnetic hyperthermia and drug delivery systems, where precise control over magnetic behavior is crucial. This paper introduces a novel topology for a non‐isolated bidirectional multiphase single inductor (BMPSIC) DC–DC converter. The proposed BMPSIC requires only a single inductor, irrespective of the number of arms, and features reduced volume and weight compared to the total magnetics needed for a conventional converter with similar ratings. The proposed BMPSIC advantages include a high DC voltage gain without operating on a large duty cycle, voltage stress on the power switches equal to that at the high‐voltage port, easy implementation, and a lower cost for application at high‐power densities. Furthermore, this topology requires only one current and voltage control loop. This paper thoroughly details the steady‐state operating principles of the inductor current continuous mode. It provides theoretical and mathematical analysis, including a comparative analysis of the proposed BMPSIC against earlier DC–DC converters, highlighting the superior performance and efficiency of the BMPSIC. An 8‐kW laboratory prototype, designed as a proof of concept, has been meticulously developed and tested, showcasing the performance of the converter across a broad range of load variations. Magnetic nanofluids have gained significant attention in recent years due to their unique properties and potential applications in various fields. This review paper provides an in-depth analysis of the utilization of magnetic nanofluids in thermal applications. Article presents a comprehensive overview of the various synthesis methods of magnetic nanofluids and key properties of magnetic nanofluids. The thermal stability of magnetic nanofluids is also highlighted in this review. Additionally, various thermal applications of magnetic nanofluids, such as cooling systems, heat exchangers, and thermal energy storage, solar systems are explored along with their potential benefits and challenges. Radiofrequency (RF) transmitter and receiver coils are employed in in magnetic resonance (MR) applications to, respectively, excite the nuclei in the object to be imaged and to pick up the signals emitted by the nuclei with a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The ability to obtain high-quality images and spectra in MR strongly depends on the RF coil's efficiency. Local coil efficiency can be estimated with magnetic field mapping methods evaluated at a fixed point in space. Different methods have been described in the literature, divided into electromagnetic bench tests and MR techniques. In this paper, we review our experience in designing and testing RF coils for MR in our electromagnetic laboratory with the use of the perturbing sphere method, which permits coil efficiency and magnetic field mapping to be estimated with great accuracy and in a short space of time, which is useful for periodic coil quality control checks. The method's accuracy has been verified with simulations and workbench tests performed on RF coils with different surfaces and of different volumes. Furthermore, all the precautions taken to improve the measurement sensitivity are also included in this review, in addition to the various applications of the method that have been described over the last twenty years of research in our electromagnetic laboratory. Magnetic resonance-guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) is a noninvasive, incisionless, radiation-free technology used to ablate tissue deep within the body. This technique has gained increased popularity following FDA approval for treatment of pain related to bone metastases and limited approval for treatment of osteoid osteoma. MRgFUS delivers superior visualization of soft tissue targets in unlimited imaging planes and precision in targeting and delivery of thermal dose which is all provided during real-time monitoring using MR thermometry. Development of a technique for measuring the mechanical properties of zygomaticus major (ZM) may aid advances in clinical treatments for correcting abnormal oral posture. The objective of this work was to demonstrate the feasibility of measuring the stiffness of ZM using an MR elastography technique that incorporates a custom local driver and a phase-gradient (PG) inversion. 2D MRE investigations were performed for 3 healthy subjects using a vibration frequency of 90 Hz to test the prediction that the stiffness of ZM would be greater in the mouth-open compared to the mouth-closed position. MRE wave images were acquired along the long axis of ZM and processed using a 2D spatial-temporal directional filter applied in the direction of wave propagation along the long axis of the muscle. Stiffness measurements were obtained by applying the PG technique to a 1D-profile drawn in the phase image of the first harmonic of the wave images and a one-tailed paired t -test was used to compare the ZM stiffness between the two mouth postures (p < 0.05). The mean stiffness and standard deviation (SD) of ZM across the three participants in the mouth-closed and mouth-open postures was 6.75 kPa (SD 3.36 kPa) and 15.5 kPa (SD 5.15 kPa), respectively. Changes of ZM stiffness were significantly greater in the mouth-open than the mouth-closed posture (p = 0.038). The feasibility of using the PG MRE technique to measure stiffness changes in a small muscle such as ZM for different mouth postures has been demonstrated. Further investigations are required in a larger cohort of participants to investigate the sensitivity and reproducibility of the technique for potential clinical application as well as in health and beauty related studies. • Measurement of the change in stiffness of ZM related to oral posture has been demonstrated using the MR elastography (MRE) phase-gradient (PG) technique. To investigate the feasibility and diagnostic efficacy of a 3D multiecho Dixon (qDixon) research application for simultaneously quantifying the liver iron concentration (LIC) and steatosis in thalassemia patients. This prospective study enrolled participants with thalassemia who underwent 3 T MRI of the liver for the evaluation of hepatic iron overload. The imaging protocol including qDixon and conventional T2* mapping based on 2D multiecho gradient echo (ME GRE) sequences respectively. Regions of interest (ROIs) were drawn in the liver on the qDixon maps to obtain R2* and proton density fat fraction (PDFF). The reference R2* value was measured and calculated on conventional T2* mapping using the CMRtools software. Correlation analysis, Linear regression analysis, and Bland–Altman analysis were performed. 84 patients were finally included in this study. The median R2*-ME-GRE was 366.97 (1/s), range [206.68 (1/s), 522.20 (1/s)]. 8 patients had normal hepatic iron deposition, 16 had Insignificant, 42 had mild, 18 had moderate. The median of R2*-qDixon was 376.88 (1/s) [219.33 (1/s), 491.75 (1/s)]. A strong correlation was found between the liver R2*-qDixon and the R2*-ME-GRE (r = 0.959, P < 0.001). The median value of PDFF was 1.76% (1.10%, 2.95%). 8 patients had mild fatty liver, and 1 had severe fatty liver. MR qDixon research sequence can rapidly and accurately quantify liver iron overload, that highly consistent with the measured via conventional GRE sequence, and it can also simultaneously detect hepatic steatosis, this has great potential for clinical evaluation of thalassemia patients. • A 1 × 4-arrayed μ MS device with four submillimeter-sized inductance has been designed. • Magnetic stimulation of multi-regions performed better than stimulation of a single-region. • Synergistic magnetic stimulation of the three-point CA1-CA3-DG results in a better rise in LTP than two-point regional magnetic stimulation. Magnetic technology has been a hotspot of neuromodulation research in recent years. However, magnetic coil is limited by their size, and it is impossible to realize precise targeted magnetic stimulation to the target area at the cellular scale. To this end, this study designs a 1 × 4 array micro-magnetic stimulation (μ MS) device with four sub-millimeter-sized elements, enabling precise magnetic stimulation of the CA1-CA3-DG tri-synaptic positions in the rat hippocampal region. First, it is determined that 70 KHz/2 mT/1 min magnetic stimulation parameter has a modulatory effect on the long-term potentiation (LTP) of Schaffer-CA1 in rat hippocampus. Then, a 1 × 4 array μ MS device is used to perform magnetic stimulation at 70 KHz/2 mT/1 min, targeting the CA1, CA3, and DG regions individually with single-point magnetic stimulation; and multi-region magnetic stimulation is applied to the double-point targeting regions of CA1-CA3, CA1-DG, and CA3-DG, as well as the triple-point targeting region of CA1-CA3-DG, so as to investigate the regulation of LTP by single-region magnetic stimulation and multi-region magnetic stimulation. The experimental results indicate that, in the case of single-region magnetic stimulation, the magnitude of the increase in LTP in the CA1 region is the greatest, followed by the CA3 region, while the effect of magnetic stimulation on the DG region is less pronounced. In multi-region magnetic stimulation, synergistic magnetic stimulation of the three-point CA1-CA3-DG results in a greater increase in LTP compared to stimulation of two individual areas, and the enhancement of LTP induction with multi-region magnetic stimulation surpasses that of single-region stimulation. Spacecraft attitude determination and control systems (ADCS) stand as a pivotal factor for ensuring the success of missions. As satellite sizes continue to decrease, the need for more intelligent and efficient control algorithms becomes increasingly pronounced. In response to this imperative, we propose the development of a scaled-down testbed specifically designed for evaluating satellites (ACDS). This testbed will demonstrate effective control of a CubeSat through the use of Helmholtz coils, magnetic torquer solenoids, reaction wheels and inexpensive student-made components and available components off the shelf (COTS) in the San Diego State University SPACE Lab. Referred to as the Spacecraft Attitude Testbed (SAT), this custom-designed 3-DoF experimental attitude platform replicates the conditions experienced by a weightless satellite in space. The objective of this research paper is to improve the understanding of how to manufacture a testbed and components like those within this paper, expose some of the issues encountered and improve the outcomes for future academic testbeds. Within this study, the testbed employs torque application to magnetic torquers and reaction wheels to regulate attitude. Purpose: We present SCAMPI (Sparsity Constrained Application of deep Magnetic resonance Priors for Image reconstruction), an untrained deep Neural Network for MRI reconstruction without previous training on datasets. It expands the Deep Image Prior approach with a multidomain, sparsity‐enforcing loss function to achieve higher image quality at a faster convergence speed than previously reported methods. Methods: Two‐dimensional MRI data from the FastMRI dataset with Cartesian undersampling in phase‐encoding direction were reconstructed for different acceleration rates for single coil and multicoil data. Results: The performance of our architecture was compared to state‐of‐the‐art Compressed Sensing methods and ConvDecoder, another untrained Neural Network for two‐dimensional MRI reconstruction. SCAMPI outperforms these by better reducing undersampling artifacts and yielding lower error metrics in multicoil imaging. In comparison to ConvDecoder, the U‐Net architecture combined with an elaborated loss‐function allows for much faster convergence at higher image quality. SCAMPI can reconstruct multicoil data without explicit knowledge of coil sensitivity profiles. Moreover, it is a novel tool for reconstructing undersampled single coil k‐space data. Conclusion: Our approach avoids overfitting to dataset features, that can occur in Neural Networks trained on databases, because the network parameters are tuned only on the reconstruction data. We reported the new synthesis of Sm2Co17 particles by a microwave-assisted combustion (MACS) method. This process enables the controlled decomposition of Sm(NO3)3 and Co(NO3)2 into SmCo-O particles, followed by calcium reduction-diffusion. This SmCo-O particle provides an approach for achieving high magnetic properties in Sm2Co17 magnetic materials. The rhombohedral Sm2Co17 particles can be incorporated into epoxy resin and oriented, displaying a square-like hysteresis loop. The particles display magnetic properties at room temperature, with a saturation magnetization of 112.3 emu/g, coercivity of 5.6 kOe, and a maximum energy product of 9.4 MGOe. This method improves the synthesis efficiency of rare earth cobalt-based nano-materials, expands the synthesis scope, and provides ideas for the synthesis and applications of other rare earth nano-materials. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a non-invasive diagnostic technique able to provide information about the anatomical, structural, and functional properties of different organs. A magnetic resonance (MR) scanner employs radiofrequency (RF) coils to generate a magnetic field to excite the nuclei in the sample (transmit coil) and pick up the signals emitted by the nuclei (receive coil). To avoid trial-and-error approaches and optimize the RF coil performance for a given application, accurate design and simulation processes must be performed. We describe the full-wave simulation of a Helmholtz coil for high-field MRI performed with the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method, investigating magnetic field pattern differences between loaded and unloaded conditions. Moreover, the self-inductance of the single loops constituting the Helmholtz coil was estimated, as well as the frequency splitting between loops due to inductive coupling and the sample-induced resistance. The result accuracy was verified with data acquired with a Helmholtz prototype for small phantom experiments with a 3T MR clinical scanner. This perspective provides an overview of the state of research and innovation in the areas of magnetocaloric and pyromagnetic materials, and electrocaloric and pyroelectric materials, including the overlapping sub‐areas of multicaloric and multipyro materials that can operate simultaneously under the application of magnetic and electric fields. These materials are critically examined for their potential to revolutionize cooling, heating, and energy‐harvesting applications. This perspective first summarizes the state‐of‐the‐art advancements and highlights recent significant developments. Then, it is identified and discussed that the prevailing challenges hindering the widespread adoption of technologies based on these materials. In this context, after consulting with members of the caloric and pyro communities, a technology roadmap is outlined to guide research efforts in overcoming current barriers to applications, with the goal of achieving impactful results by 2040. This roadmap emphasizes the importance of focusing on under‐researched materials, novel devices, and application spaces, paving the way for interdisciplinary efforts that can lead to significant reductions in carbon dioxide emissions. 2D ferroelectric materials present promising applications in information storage, sensor technology, and optoelectronics through their coupling with magnetics/valleytronics, mechanics, and optics, respectively. The integration of 2D ferroelectrics with magnetism enhances data storage density in memory devices by enabling electric‐field‐controlled magnetic states. Ferroelectric‐valley coupling holds promise for high‐speed, low‐energy electronics by leveraging the electrical control of valley polarization. Ferroelectric‐strain coupling results in various polar topologies, with potential applications in high‐density data storage technologies and sensor devices. Moreover, the coupling between ferroelectrics and optics facilitates the development of nonlinear photonics based on ferroelectric materials. This review summarizes the latest theoretical progress in the coupling mechanisms, including the Dzyaloshinskii‐Moriya‐interaction‐induced magnetoelectric coupling, symmetry‐linked ferroelectric‐valley coupling, ferroelectric‐strain‐coupling‐generated polar topologies, and second‐harmonic generation through ferroelectric‐light interactions. ABSTRACT In this study, a functionalized magnetic powder complex porous carbon derived from ZIF‐8 (ZIF‐8@Na‐Cit@Fe3O4NPs@AC(500°C)) was prepared and applied for the waste liquid containing MB, TC, and Cu2+ adsorption removal. The ZIF‐8@Na‐Cit@Fe3O4NPs@AC(500°C) perfectly inherited the feature of parent ZIF‐8, posed a high specific surface area (SBET = 812.73 m2 g−1), be rich in surface nitrogen functional groups, and resulting in a good dynamic adsorption of the MB, TC, and Cu2+. The ZIF‐8@Na‐Cit@Fe3O4NPs@AC(500°C) exhibited the best adsorption performance of high‐concentration waste liquid containing MB, TC, and Cu2+, with equilibrium adsorption capacity of MB (408 mg g−1), TC (417 mg g−1), and Cu2+ (386 mg g−1), respectively. The acetone and toluene adsorption were spontaneously and exothermic, given the negative values of free energy (ΔG) and enthalpy (ΔH). The difference of MB, TC, and Cu2+ adsorption on ZIF‐8@Na‐Cit@Fe3O4NPs@AC(500°C) attributed to the affinity difference (polarity and molecular diameter) and the nitrogen‐containing functional groups (π‐π interaction and electrostatic attraction). Therefore, it was found that ZIF‐8@Na‐Cit@Fe3O4NPs@AC(500°C) could effectively adsorb MB, TC, and Cu2+, and ZIF‐8@Na‐Cit@Fe3O4NPs@AC(500°C) could remove more than 70% of the above pollutants after repeated use for four times; it has a good application prospect. This paper examines the relationship between the magnetization behavior and crystal lattice orientations of Fe–Si alloys intended for magnetic applications. A novel approach is introduced to assess anisotropy of the magnetic losses and first magnetization curves. This method links the magnetocrystalline anisotropy energy of single crystal structures to the textures of polycrystalline materials through a vectorial space description of the crystal unit cell, incorporating vectors for external applied field and saturation magnetization. This study provides a preliminary understanding of how texture influences magnetic loss rates and the first magnetization curves. Experimental results from Electron Back-Scattered Diffraction (EBSD) and Single-Sheet Tests (SSTs), combined with energy considerations and mathematical modeling, reveal the following key findings: (i) a higher density of cubic texture components, whether aligned or rotated relative to the rolling direction, decreases magnetic anisotropy, suggesting that optimizing cubic texture can enhance material performance; (ii) at high magnetic fields, there is no straightforward correlation between energy losses and polarization; and (iii) magnetization rates significantly impact magnetization loss rates, highlighting the importance of considering these rates in optimizing Fe–Si sheet manufacturing processes. The sol-gel self-combustion technique was applied to form Cd–Co-based La-doped (Cd 0.5 Co 0.5 La x Fe 2-x O 4) spinel ferrite nanoparticles. A series of six samples was synthesized by varying lanthanum content from x = 0.00 to 0.20. The structural characteristics of the prepared nanoparticles were carried out using X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. The (311) plane verified that the prepared nanomaterials are in the spinel phase in all observed XRD patterns. The crystallite size for each sample was determined using the Scherrer formula found in the 8.7–17.8 nm range, which is well correlated with the SSP model. The crystallite size decreased while the lattice constant increased from 8.38 to 8.45 Å with increasing La-content. The increasing trend in the bulk density and X-ray density has been analyzed with the effects of La3+ contents. In Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), the high-frequency absorption band (υ 1) was found from 522.15 to 541.06 cm−1, whereas the low-frequency band (υ 2) varied from 419.80 to 414.31 cm−1. The surface morphology was carried out by scanning electron microscope (SEM), which positively correlated with XRD analysis. Impedance analyzer (IA) assisted in observing the variations in complex dielectric properties of the compound in the frequency range from 1 MHz to 3 GHz. The dielectric constant and impedance plots depicted that the nano ferrites have good dielectric properties in low-frequency regions due contribution of polarization. While conduction can be made possible in the high-frequency areas as observed through AC conductivity. The electric modulus revealed the relaxation phenomenon at high frequency due to the hopping of electrons at the octa and tetrahedral sites. The magnetic properties were investigated to study the impact of La3+ ion under the applied magnetic field from −15 to 15 kOe. The saturation magnetization, and magnetic remanence were found from 40.6 to 27.7 emu/g and 19.6 to 2.7 emu/g, respectively. The present study explored the impacts of dysprosium (Dy³⁺) doping on the structure, optical, and magnetic characteristics of CuDy x Fe 2-x O 4 nanospinel ferrites synthesized via a hydrothermal method. X-ray diffraction revealed a tetragonal spinel matrix with increasing Dy³⁺ content, accompanied by a secondary Dy 2 O 3 phase at higher dopant levels for x ≥ 0.1. Crystallite size and microstrain increased with doping, while infrared spectroscopy confirmed the spinel structure and distinct vibrational modes. Interestingly, saturation magnetization displayed a non-monotonic trend, first rising due to spin polarization and cation redistribution, then decreasing with higher Dy³⁺ content attributable to the Dy 2 O 3 phase and larger grains. Coercivity exhibited a maximum at x = 0.2, reflecting the interplay between magnetocrystalline anisotropy, canting angles, and domain wall pinning. These findings highlight the complex interplay between Dy³⁺ doping and the resulting properties, paving the way for tailored CuDy x Fe 2-x O 4 nanospinel ferrites functionalities.. Ferromagnetic shape memory alloys attracted increasing interest as multicaloric materials for solid state refrigeration. The most effective field coupling is achieved through the combination of the magnetic and mechanical induction of thermoelastic martensitic transformation. In the present work, we present an experimental investigation on NiMnGaCu polycrystalline cast alloy, by means of an experimental setup for compression tests in isothermal conditions under a longitudinal magnetic field. The setup has been ad hoc designed and developed specifically for this purpose. In this way, we can measure the elastocaloric and magnetocaloric effect at the same time. Moreover, the evolution of the entropy changes ΔS and the functional caloric parameters vs the magnetic field is evaluated. The application of magnetic field seems to act like a supplementary mechanical longitudinal stress. This paper introduces a novel class of low-loss and cost-effective optical planar structures tailored for magnetic detection applications. These structures represent unconventional magneto-plasmonic devices specifically optimized for an 'optical switch' configuration. The structure consists of a 1D deep sinusoidal gold grating covered by a thin cobalt layer. In this unique arrangement, the excited plasmon induces a high-contrast switching phenomenon between the reflected free space intensity of specular (0th) and −1st diffracted orders, sensitive to any transverse magnetic fields applied to the cobalt layer. The use of these two distinct diffracted orders induces differential measurements, effectively mitigating common drift and perturbations. AbstractPhysical measurements of the normal state of an unconventional or high-temperature superconductor in the zero-temperature limit can provide vital information on the nature of the electronic ground state from which the superconductivity emerges. Viable routes to fully suppress the superconductivity include the application of magnetic fields stronger than the upper critical field Hc2 or current densities larger than the critical current density Jc. In high-Tc superconductors, Hc2 is typically higher than the available field strengths, while high currents can often create large heating effects that cause irreparable damage to the sample. Here, we present a technique that combines intense current pulses with high magnetic fields to fully suppress the superconductivity of a candidate high-Tc superconductor while keeping both J and μ0H below their critical values. Two adaptable circuit designs are presented with negligible stray field or self-heating effects (below a critical current value). As a proof of principle, we apply the technique to a high-Tc cuprate with nominal μ0Hc2 ∼ 36 T and demonstrate the suppression of superconductivity down to T/Tc ≤ 0.1 in a field strength of just 24 T.
