Harmony is a crucial value for resolving conflicts. Discussions on harmony in the Zhuangzi primarily focus on harmonizing ‘right and wrong’ (shifei 是非). However, it represents only a superficial understanding of Zhuangzian harmony. To explore a fundamental form of harmony would be beneficial: harmonizing ‘virtuosities’ (de 德), which can prevent conflicts and avoid domination. This paper begins by illustrating the discombobulated (zhili 支离) characteristic of virtuosities in the Zhuangzi. By comparison with harmonizing virtues in Five Conducts, we can better understand the distinctive characteristic of harmonizing virtuositiesin the Zhuangzi. Moreover, a metaphor of perfectly still water suggests that in this process, virtuosities can be internally preserved and externally unshaken. This suggests to maintain one’s own virtuosities in the transformations of eventsand avoidacquiring specific names or reputations that can lead to interpersonal conflicts and domination. Music is based on various regularities, ranging from the repetition of physical sounds to theoretically organized harmony and counterpoint. How are multidimensional regularities processed when we listen to music? The present study focuses on the redundant signals effect (RSE) as a novel approach to untangling the relationship between these regularities in music. The RSE refers to the occurrence of a shorter reaction time (RT) when two or three signals are presented simultaneously than when only one of these signals is presented, and provides evidence that these signals are processed concurrently. In two experiments, chords that deviated from tonal (harmonic) and acoustic (intensity and timbre) regularities were presented occasionally in the final position of short chord sequences. The participants were asked to detect all deviant chords while withholding their responses to non-deviant chords (i.e., the Go/NoGo task). RSEs were observed in all double- and triple-deviant combinations, reflecting processing of multidimensional regularities. Further analyses suggested evidence of coactivation by separate perceptual modules in the combination of tonal and acoustic deviants, but not in the combination of two acoustic deviants. These results imply that tonal and acoustic regularities are different enough to be processed as two discrete pieces of information. Different theories have been proposed to explain the perception of a root in a pitch set, with Terhardt's (1984) virtual pitch theory being the one generally considered most plausible, despite none of them having been confirmed empirically. Understanding the perceived root phenomenon is an essential component in explaining the origin of the major and minor triads as the most fundamental chords in twelve-tone equal temperament or 5-limit just intonation, as well as in proposing new chords for new tunings. This music perception study, in which 42 participants rated chords in 10 different tunings, empirically establishes harmonic dualism, negative harmony, and Barlow's harmonicity as the key factors for the perception of the harmonic root and the origin of the major and minor triads, and proposes a model as a basis for a tuning-agnostic—trans-spatial—music theory. In this paper, we explore locative grounding harmony, according to which the location of the grounds mirrors the location of the grounded. We proceed in three stages. First, we clarify the notion of locative harmony and describe different locative harmony principles. Second, we offer two arguments for the claim that grounding between physically located entities obeys principles of locative harmony. Third, we consider and respond to a range of cases that seem to show that grounding relations between physically located entities do not obey such principles. Purpose: Inspired by Kuan-Hsing Chen's "Asia as method," this study investigates a multicultural approach to education. Using East Asia as the frame of reference, this study explores multiculturalism in middle school classrooms in Chinese Taiwan. Design/Approach/Methods: Semistructured interviews were conducted with principals, administrators, and teachers at a middle school known for its diversity work. Data were coded based on the conceptual framework and emergent themes analyzed using NVivo. Findings: Findings elucidate the harmony-oriented multicultural approach adopted by administrators and teachers to empower the youth to embrace their ethnic heritage. This approach was characterized by three Confucian-influenced features: whole-person development, strengthening of the collective school unit, and a school decision-making approach prioritizing "fairness." Originality/Value: This study investigates the multicultural responses of teachers and schools to student diversity through a nondeficit lens in East Asia, revealing the harmony-oriented practices adopted in this respect. In addition to establishing a foundation for East Asian scholars to explore how teachers respond to student diversity in their respective contexts through an asset lens, the findings of this study advance our understanding of how to recognize differences and maintain social cohesion. We propose an approach to tuning systems in which octave doubling ratio is replaced by a suitable algebraic unit τ, and note frequencies are proportional to a subset of the ring $ \mathbb {Z}[\tau ] $ Z [ τ ]. Indonesia, characterized by its rich religious diversity, inevitably experiences variations in religious principles. Engaging in religious practices can sometimes lead to excessive fanaticism, resulting in conflicts and divisions within religious communities. To mitigate such challenges, fostering religious tolerance becomes crucial for promoting harmony. This qualitative research employs a library research method, analyzing secondary data sources to explore the concept of tolerance as interpreted by Muhammad Abduh, an Islamic theologian and reformist, in his work “Tafsir al-Manar.” Abduh’s interpretation aligns with Surah Al-Baqarah verse 256 from the Qur’an, emphasizing the importance of mutual respect and the freedom of belief without coercion. Given Indonesia’s context, where Islam is known for its openness, inclusivity, and problem-solving capabilities, studying and embracing the concept of tolerance from “Tafsir al-Manar” is highly relevant. The study concludes that Abduh’s perspectives on religious tolerance can significantly contribute to national harmony and the advancement of humanitarian values in Indonesia.

Man is a social being whose inter and intra-personal existence cannot be extricated from cohabiting with others within the society in which he finds himself. Man’s existence starts from fostering mutual relations with members of his immediate family and groups outside his family to members of the larger society/nation he identifies with as a citizen. Therefore, his belief in any creed or faith (religion) is a sign that man’s social contact within society reflects his exemplification of God, who is a just being. This paper adopted two methodological approaches- The functionalist approach emphasizes the contributions made by each component to the total and the interdependence between society’s constituent parts. The research attested that religion is often, and rightly, seen as a semi-autonomous social space that resembles others; it is also closely related to the economic structure of society. The second approach is a sociology of religion approach, which discusses religion within the framework of a particular people group as a human and cultural phenomenon. This article mainly focused on promoting peace in Nigeria, even during the building or consolidating of democratic institutions. In theoretical explanation, therefore, this paper expounds on how it makes a big difference in a society of peace and tranquillity and the workings of the democratic institutional framework. It is hoped that the leadership of our dear nation will be directed towards attaining peace and security across diverse Nigerian ethnic races or groups in such a way that religious tolerance will not breed hatred and enmity whatsoever to all citizens. Thus, development in whatever ramification is yearned for in this democratic dispensation would not be an illusion or wishful expectation but requires acceptance of everyone from all climes of life, race, creed, or ethnicity.

Harmony of being, a concept that recognized philosophy, values, social science as a unit whole in understanding humanity holistically. This research paper aimed to discuss the relevance of this approach to NU MOA students and faculty members. The essence of studying how it enhanced personal growth and development was therefore explored through this paper. The research methodology used an exploratory and documentary analysis in which primary and secondary sources were used as data collection tools. Academic interest in well-being has blossomed, to the point that numerous forms of well-being have been proposed, covering myriad aspects of the person (e.g. mental, physical, social, spiritual) and of life more broadly (e.g. communal, economic, environmental). This proliferation of forms raises the question of how they might ideally interrelate, and whether there is some kind of overall well-being that draws them together. To that end, this paper argues that a zenith of ultimate or complete well-being would involve managing to sustain well-being across numerous systems (i.e. configurations of different processes and entities), such that they are in balance and harmony. These systems include: (a) the various dimensions of the person; (b) self-and-other (c) people-and-environment; and (d) time. Forms of African relational ethics that prioritise the value of harmony struggle to accommodate arguably valuable disharmony, such as disruptive emotions like anger. A wider literature on political emotions has defended the value of such emotions and even proposed that a particular form of injustice, affective injustice, can arise if we fail to create space for them. While it has recently been proposed that Thaddeus Metz's African-inspired relational moral theory can accommodate disruptive emotions and address affective injustice, in this philosophical article I argue that any success that Metz's account has in this regard is superficial. This critique has important implications: either we need to engage further with disruptive emotions and affective injustice within an African relational ethics, or it may be the case that we instead need to return to how we conceptualise affective injustice to ensure that it does the justice-promoting work that we want it to do. Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849), one of the composers who reflected and created the spirit of the 'Romantic Period,' characterized by increased diversity in style, form, and expression, and the expansion of piano literature, crafted the musical texture in his pieces with a highly personal style, incorporating his unique harmony, flexible formal design, original use of expressive tools, and a free performance technique that didn't adhere to rigid patterns in rhythm and tempo. Chopin's distinctive style is particularly visible in the forms he chose for piano music. The flexible forms of his time allowed the composer to create a characteristic style by freely utilizing musical materials. Especially, forms like nocturnes, fantaisies-impromptus, and waltzes, which leave an impression of improvisation, small-scale, and rule-free structures, provided a clear space for the composer's expressive tools. Indeed, it is possible to identify Chopin's musical language, especially through his small-scale pieces. The purpose of this research is to analyze the melody construction, harmony, and rhythms of Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849), focusing on selected pieces to provide an interpretation of his musical language based on similarities found in these pieces. Samples from Chopin's literature, including Op. 27 No. 1, Op. 9 No. 2 and No. 20 Nocturnes, Op. 64 No. 2 Waltz, and Op. 66 Fantaisie-Impromptu, were taken for the study. The research employed a case study design within qualitative research methods, and the obtained data was described descriptively. In conclusion, it was found that Chopin's harmony encompasses a wide range from simple chord progressions to complex chords. He created simple yet bel canto melodies inspired by the 'Italian Opera' embellishments and used rhythms that prioritize the clarity of melody rather than a polyrhythmic approach. Through an examination of the Dao De Jing, we uncover insights into a holistic approach to social justice that integrates ecological sustainability and gender equality. Laozi's teachings, characterized by the principles of Dao, Wu-wei, and Ziran, offer a foundational framework for understanding the interconnectedness of all beings and the importance of living in harmony with the natural world. By analyzing relevant passages and concepts from the Dao De Jing, this paper demonstrates how Daoist philosophy aligns with and enriches ecofeminist values, advocating for a society that honors the balance between humanity and nature and recognizes the integral role of women in achieving environmental and social harmony. This paper presents case studies that illustrate the practical application of Daoist principles in ecological feminist practices, shedding light on the successes and challenges of integrating ancient philosophical insights into modern activism. The fusion of Daoist mysticism and ecofeminism provides a compelling vision for addressing the intertwined challenges of gender inequality and environmental degradation, suggesting pathways toward a more just, sustainable, and harmonious world. In doing so, it calls for a reimagined approach to social justice that is deeply informed by an understanding of ecological sustainability and gender equality as mutually reinforcing goals. The concept of living in harmony with the cosmos is difficult to grasp and has become misunderstood and misinterpreted in the Western tradition. However, it offers fruitful contributions to contemporary discourse by establishing a dialogue with Dewey's notion of aesthetic experience. For Dewey, as for Confucius, the world does not have an established order but must be achieved through the creation of new patterns or modes of interaction. Using a comparative methodology, this article analyzes the Deweyan and Confucian conceptions of nature and the relationship between human beings and the environment defended by both authors. Born and bred in the Western lands in the context of ecological crisis and feminist movement in the 1970s, ecofeminism views men's rule over women and human's rule over nature as two aspects of the same issue, and believes that there is an inherent connection between them. By criticizing the oppressive status of women and nature, and eliminating the dualism rooted in western patriarchy, ecofeminism aims to promote equality and harmony among all things. Taoism, an ancient Eastern philosophy with a history of thousands of years, also places great emphasis on harmony among individuals, nature, society, and the universe. Its principles of "the unity of man and nature", and balance between "Yin" and "Yang" provide philosophical support for ecofeminism which rejects dualisms and encourages wholeness and harmony. As society and economy develop rapidly, humanity faces a series of crisis, and this paper just intends to combine ecofeminism with Taoism to make an analysis on Louise Glück's poem collection of A Village Life to explore her ecofeminist consciousness and how she advocates the establishment of a diverse but harmonious world without hierarchical differences in her poems. Despite a clarion call to cultivate EFL teachers' intercultural competence (IC) in supporting their classroom practice, there is a lack of empirical research on how pre-service EFL teachers develop their IC. To fill the gap, the study examined two pre-service EFL teachers' IC development during a service-learning programme in China. Drawing on data from interviews, reflective journals, and researchers' field notes, the findings revealed two IC development patterns derived from the Chinese notion of harmony, i.e., "prioritising harmony" and "seeking harmony in diversity," shaped by the participants' motivations, personality traits, and contextual influences. This research aimed to find out how the lower class and the upper class are represented in the Snowpiercer movie as well as to find out how the Snowpierce movie portrays values in social life in. Library research (documentation) and descriptive qualitative method were used to conduct the research. The data findings were found by using script and dialogues from the movie and were also identified by using values in social life according to Nurgyantoro (1995:331). The results showed that: 1) there were 2 scenes from the movie that showed how the lower class and the upper class were represented, the 2 scenes described the lower class and the upper class as a shoe and a hat. A shoe was to described the lower class and a hat was to described the upper class. 2) there were 8 scenes from the movie that portrayed Justice values in social life which all 8 scenes showed that Justice values in social life was being ignored. 3) there was 1 scene from the movie that portrayed Frienship values in social life which occured among the people of the lower class. 4) the Harmony values in social life between the lower class and the upper class could not be portrayed in the movie.

Purpose – Creating a sakinah mawaddah warahmah family is a goal for every married couple. These efforts are certainly faced with various challenges and obstacles. This is experienced by some people in Lenggerong Village, Bantarbolang District, Pemalang Regency. This research aims to see how the portrait of a sakinah mawaddah warahmah family in the community of Lenggerong Village, Bantarbolang District, Pemalang Regency. Methods – This research uses qualitative research with a descriptive approach technique. The subjects and data sources of this research came from Mrs Sitih, Mrs Istiana and Mrs Eka Jayanti. The data collection techniques were interviews and observations. Findings – The results showed that the portrait of a Sakinah, Mawaddah, warahmah family is a calm family condition, mutual understanding, no turmoil, serene, happy and harmonious. The husband fulfils the obligation of physical and mental nafkah and provides love and affection to the wife. Meanwhile, the wife's obligations towards the husband or the husband's rights over the wife are, among others: Obeying the husband, taking care of yourself when the husband is not around, maintaining self-respect and protecting the husband's property. Research implications/limitations – Based on the results of the study, the researcher recommends that the authorities conduct socialization on the formation of a sakinah family, especially for married couples who are in a long-distance relationship in Lenggerong Village. Originality/value – The existence of this research is expected to be a praxis reference for the community in an effort to form a sakinah mawaddah warahmah family. The empirical experiences of the informants in this study are expected to inspire married couples in other communities to form a sakinah family.

Hrotsvit of Gandersheim sees music and arithmetic as parts of philosophy. Presenting the motives for engaging in literary creativity and describing her writing process, she says that by glorifying God with her work, she incorporated threads and pieces of the ancient mantle of philosophy into it. The paper aims to provide insight into Hrotsvit’s knowledge of philosophy and the specificities and significance of her approach to the contents of the disciplines of arithmetic and music (in particular to musica humana and the harmony of a world) in her plays Paphnutius and Sapientia, to analyze different elements of her authorial self-perception and to emphasize the similarities between her and Augustine’s understanding of music, and the role of certain types of writing. The paper concludes that Hrotsvit incorporated her knowledge and understanding of ancient and medieval theories of music and numbers into her plays uniquely, showing originality in their interpretation and merging them with everyday moral life and education. In this way, the rarely treated philosophical elements of her oeuvre are presented and evaluated.

We present a dataset of 264 annotated piano pieces of nine composers, composed in the long 19th century (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.7483349). Annotations adhere to the DCML harmony annotation standard and include Roman numerals, phrase boundaries, and cadence types. The scores are encoded in the XML-based MuseScore 3 format. Annotations are embedded within the MuseScore files. In addition, all harmony information, alongside key features of the encoded measure and note objects, is provided in the form of plaintext TSV-formatted tables for increased interoperability with other datasets and analysis tools. Annotations were collaboratively created and reviewed by a pool of trained music theorists. Collaboration took place asynchronously online via a semi-automated GitHub-based workflow designed for quality assurance, allowing cycles of revisions and reviews until consensus is reached. The full revision history is retained, providing data for further empirical research on inter-annotator agreement and related topics. We also present descriptive statistics about the nine corpora and the dataset as a whole, including comparisons of pitch-class contents, phrase lengths, modulations, and cadence types. We conclude with a discussion of our musicological principles for corpus building and considerations of representability.

Music is a visceral experience. It allows audiences to feel its message in and through their bodies. In this essay, I bring together the rhetorical concepts of viscerality and harmony to offer a new approach to feminist musical rhetorical criticism. I argue that recording artists ROES and Sia produce rhetorical harmony by performing and inciting viscerality in "Battle Cry," and that rhetorical harmony exists when connections are made across difference for social change. This study aims to explore the elements of consistency and harmony in the poem The Land by Mahmoud Darwish. The major components of textual grammar are examined, highlighting the creativity of language in producing endless sentences. It essentially deals with the compositional structures and the elements of their formation at both the surface and deep structures. The descriptive and analytical approach is adopted to achieve the purposes of the study. The results show that the factors of dispersion, discontinuity, and anxiety help to achieve the elements of consistency and harmony. The liturgical singing of the Romanian Orthodox Church is monodic, of the Byzantine tradition. From the 19th century, under the influence of the Russian Orthodox Church, multiple voices choral singing penetrates the Romanian worship establishments. The beginnings were timid, isolated, from private initiatives and sometimes encountering the hostility of conservative ecclesiastical traditionalism. After 1959, the introduction of choral singing in the United Romanian Principalities was to be facilitated by state legislation. Choral singing would be used predominantly for the office of the Holy Liturgy. In finding a choral style suitable for the orthodox liturgical ceremonial, three main stylistic directions were outlined, among which the classicalromantic influence created a generous and varied repertoire. The pleasurable urge to move to music (PLUMM) activates motor and reward areas of the brain and is thought to be driven by predictive processes. Dopamine in motor and limbic networks is implicated in beat‐based timing and music‐induced pleasure, suggesting a central role of basal ganglia (BG) dopaminergic systems in PLUMM. This study tested this hypothesis by comparing PLUMM in participants with Parkinson's disease (PD), age‐matched controls, and young controls. Participants listened to musical sequences with varying rhythmic and harmonic complexity (low, medium and high), and rated their experienced pleasure and urge to move to the rhythm. In line with previous results, healthy younger participants showed an inverted U‐shaped relationship between rhythmic complexity and ratings, with preference for medium complexity rhythms, while age‐matched controls showed a similar, but weaker, inverted U‐shaped response. Conversely, PD showed a significantly flattened response for both the urge to move and pleasure. Crucially, this flattened response could not be attributed to differences in rhythm discrimination and did not reflect an overall decrease in ratings. For harmonic complexity, PD showed a negative linear pattern for both the urge to move and pleasure while healthy age‐matched controls showed the same pattern for pleasure and an inverted U for the urge to move. This contrasts with the pattern observed in young healthy controls in previous studies, suggesting that both healthy aging and PD also influence affective responses to harmonic complexity. Together, these results support the role of dopamine within cortico‐striatal circuits in the predictive processes that form the link between the perceptual processing of rhythmic patterns and the affective and motor responses to rhythmic music. When logicians work with multiple-conclusion systems, they use a metalinguistic comma ',' to aggregate premisses and/or conclusions. In this note, I present an analogy between this comma and Prior's infamous connective tonk. The analogy reveals that these expressions have much in common. I argue that, indeed, the comma can be seen as a structural incarnation of tonk. The upshot is that, whatever story one has to tell about tonk , there are good reasons to tell a similar story about the comma in typical multiple-conclusion systems, and vice versa. Balthasar is, first and foremost, a Germanist. His theology is internally related to literature. This article shows how deep this link is, starting from three aspects: the literary coordinates that appear to be integrated in the theological structure of his thought, the theological language that Balthasar discovers in the literature, and the use of some literary instruments to engage with theology. Overall, Balthasar bases this profound and internal use of literature on the harmony/harmonization (Zum-stimmen-bringen/justesse/analogia linguae) he discovers between literary form or style and theological content. This harmony, justesse, or analogia is mediated by the free creativity of the author of the literary text under the power of the Spirit and sustained by the analogia entis and Christological analogia entis. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to examine peace as a paradigm for promoting peace culture. Design/methodology/approach: The paper amalgamates paradigmatic concepts, insights and analytical writing while building on existing literature. Findings: The findings of this research suggest that the paradigm of peace can be used as a model to promote peace culture and harmony in the 21st century, which is characterized by "hyper" and "super" diversity. Diversity is everywhere, including schools, workplaces and marketplaces. Diversity is very complex and encompasses nearly every element of human life. Diversity should not only be based on the race, culture, ethnicity, religion or gender of an individual. Diversity should be based on the uniqueness of an individual. The fact that we live in a diverse world does not mean that we cannot coexist harmoniously. This paper explores the paradigm of peace research by focusing on how it enhances peace culture to thrive amidst diversity. This study also illustrates that peace and conflict studies cannot be restricted to the resolution of war, violence and conflict. It can likewise aid us in addressing cultural, racial, religious and ethnic concerns. In addition, this research demonstrates that encouraging positive peace (and discouraging negative peace) can be used as a deterrent against violence, including war and conflict. Furthermore, this paper demonstrates the significance of personal peace and some other types of peace. It demonstrates that inner peace combined with external peace yields personal peace. Therefore, an individual may not be able to enjoy the holistic values of personal peace without inner and external peace. Also, this research indicates that encouraging a daily culture of peace can assist us in becoming quotidian agents of peace. Originality/value: Most publications focused on peace and conflict but made no connection between peace and culture. In addition, the majority of publications did not discuss peace as a paradigm that can aid in promoting a culture of peace and nonviolence. In addition, most papers did not link peace culture with diversity. Moreover, the majority of studies did not connect peace with the environment. This study addresses these gaps by introducing peace as a paradigm for fostering a culture of peace amidst diversity in the 21st century. This paper introduces peace as a paradigm for promoting nonviolence, peace culture and harmony. This study also emphasizes the need for environmental peace, thereby increasing awareness of the problems that affect the planet. This study also includes a discussion of positive and negative peace, as well as other definitions and viewpoints of peace. It also underlines the importance of establishing positive peace. Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849), one of the composers who reflected and created the spirit of the ‘Romantic Period,’ characterized by increased diversity in style, form, and expression, and the expansion of piano literature, crafted the musical texture in his pieces with a highly personal style, incorporating his unique harmony, flexible formal design, original use of expressive tools, and a free performance technique that didn’t adhere to rigid patterns in rhythm and tempo. Chopin’s distinctive style is particularly visible in the forms he chose for piano music. The flexible forms of his time allowed the composer to create a characteristic style by freely utilizing musical materials. Especially, forms like nocturnes, fantaisies-impromptus, and waltzes, which leave an impression of improvisation, small-scale, and rule-free structures, provided a clear space for the composer’s expressive tools. Indeed, it is possible to identify Chopin’s musical language, especially through his small-scale pieces. The purpose of this research is to analyze the melody construction, harmony, and rhythms of Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849), focusing on selected pieces to provide an interpretation of his musical language based on similarities found in these pieces. Samples from Chopin’s literature, including Op. 27 No. 1, Op. 9 No. 2 and No. 20 Nocturnes, Op. 64 No. 2 Waltz, and Op. 66 Fantaisie-Impromptu, were taken for the study. The research employed a case study design within qualitative research methods, and the obtained data was described descriptively. In conclusion, it was found that Chopin’s harmony encompasses a wide range from simple chord progressions to complex chords. He created simple yet bel canto melodies inspired by the ‘Italian Opera’ embellishments and used rhythms that prioritize the clarity of melody rather than a polyrhythmic approach. This study is believed to contribute to listening and playing practices due to its exploration of the musical materials in the Turkish literature related to Chopin.

The concept of living in harmony with the cosmos is difficult to grasp and has become misunderstood and misinterpreted in the Western tradition. However, it offers fruitful contributions to contemporary discourse by establishing a dialogue with Dewey’s notion of aesthetic experience. For Dewey, as for Confucius, the world does not have an established order but must be achieved through the creation of new patterns or modes of interaction. Using a comparative methodology, this article analyzes the Deweyan and Confucian conceptions of nature and the relationship between human beings and the environment defended by both authors. This approach, which combines Dewey’s philosophy and Confucius’ thought, can contribute to our current world, a time of spiritual and natural crisis.

This paper is a qualitative study that describes the phenomenon of religious moderation in the Getasan District, Semarang Regency, Central Java Province. Many mass media highlight the high tolerance in the Getasan area, which makes it interesting to investigate it deeper related to religious management in the community. By using the analysis of Miles and Huberman and mixing it with the perspective of Citizenship Pluralism, the results showed that Christian religious leaders taught church members about three things, including doctrinal teaching that educated the law of love as their foundation, contextualization by mixing and matching culture in the development of faith and social devotion in terms of religiosity in society. From the perspective of civic pluralism, Christian religious leaders carried out recognition, representation, and redistribution as a way of teaching religious moderation in society, which aims to create social harmony in society. A good understanding of religious moderation, by linking religious texts and religious contexts, then internalizing it into their daily lives, makes church members have an important role in creating harmony in the community in Getasan District, Semarang Regency.

Kupang City, located in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) province, stands out for its notable success in fostering tolerance among religious communities. Its significance lies in (a) being the largest city in NTT, (b) having a longstanding history of Islamic development, and (c) the proclamation of local leaders demonstrating a firm commitment to preserving Kupang as an exemplar of religious harmony. In light of these aspects, the authors conducted qualitative field research on Muslim village communities in Kupang to explore how harmony is maintained among religious groups. This research is based on the theoretical assumption that understanding the world requires a native point of approach, relying on the researcher's perspective. The findings reveal that a crucial foundation for harmony among religious communities is the residents' highly tolerant attitude, reflecting the active tolerance embedded in local wisdom. This local wisdom is further reinforced by the recognition of diversity as a defining feature of Kupang City's identity. The actualization of this value is evident in religious and cultural traditions, exemplified by the Siripuan tradition in Airmata Village. The dynamic nature of harmony among religious communities is underscored, with one contributing factor being the lower positive feelings experienced by minorities compared to the majority. Addressing this discrepancy is crucial for anticipating and mitigating potential challenges among Muslim minorities.

This paper presents a new symbolic corpus of musical themes from the complete Star Wars trilogies (Episodes I-IX) by John Williams. The corpus files are made available in multiple formats (.krn, .sib., and .musicxml) and include melodic, harmonic, and formal information. The Star Wars Thematic Corpus (SWTC) contains a total of 64 distinctive, recurring, and symbolically meaningful themes and motifs, commonly referred to as leitmotifs. Through this corpus we also introduce a new humdrum standard for non-functional harmony encodings, **harte (Harte et al., 2005; Harte, 2010). This report details the motivation, describes the transcription and encoding processes, and provides some brief summary statistics. While relatively small in scale, the SWTC represents a unified collection from one of the most prolific and influential composers of the 20th and 21st centuries, and the under-studied subset of film and multimedia musical material in general. We hope the SWTC will provide insights into John Williams’ compositional style, as well as prove useful in comparisons against other thematic corpora from film and beyond.

This study aims to reveal the portrait of tolerance and religious harmony practiced by the Golong village community between Muslims and Hindus through the Ngejot tradition. The study departs from Indonesia's many religious conflicts, especially on the island of Lombok. The clashes occurred because of the lack of religious tolerance of the Sasak people. Amid many disputes that arise, the Golong village community has its way of maintaining religious harmony, namely through the Ngejot tradition. The research is included in the type of field research (field research) because the data is collected through explanations or answers from informants. Data sources The data in this study were obtained from religious leaders, humanists, and people who have a broad understanding of the tradition of Ngejot. The data collection is done by interview, observation, and documentation methods. The results of this study indicate that the Ngejot tradition carried out by two religions, namely Islam and Hinduism, aims to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and kinship that have long been built by their ancestors who have noble ideals to create a harmonious life. This tradition is not just about giving or delivering food to each other on religious holidays but goes beyond the meaning of tolerance itself. Islamic and Hindu religious communities not only respect each other and respect each other's rights but are also actively involved in realizing a tolerant and harmonious attitude to life. This is evidenced by mutual assistance to secure each other's religious activities on significant days such as Eid al-Fitr, Adha, takbiran marches, Kuningan, Odalan, and other religious social activities. The article presents the results of the authors’ research on the cosmological views of Johannes Keppler in his Latin treatise Harmonices Mundi. The authors discuss the background of composing the treatise concerning the philosophical, religious, and cultural contexts of that period, and give a brief overview of the structure of the treatise, Kepler’s theory and his third law of harmony. The paper demonstrates the connection and reception of philosophical ideas on the harmony of the world in Kepler’s treatise and ancient philosophers, such as Pythagoras, Plato, and Proclus. This shows that Kepler’s philosophical and scientific views largely depended on his theological background. The authors discuss the perception of ancient cosmological ideas in Kepler’s Harmonices Mundi relating to Pythagorean tetractys, five Platonic solids or regular polyhedral, and cosmic harmony as well as Proclus’ theoretical mathematics.

Simple Summary: Equestrian sports include a diverse range of activities requiring a wide variety of technical skills, all of which are based on collaboration between a rider and a horse. During training, horses are taught to respond appropriately to the rider's cues or "aids". In addition to these trained responses, the rider's weight is associated with mechanical effects that are based on physical principles governing the behavior of, and interactions between, bodies in the environment. The effects of gravity, inertia, and turning have predictable effects on the horse, but these may be modified by the rider's symmetry, balance, and posture. The ultimate goal is for the rider to have a harmonious relationship with the horse, which is addressed in the final section of this article exploring the biomechanical underpinnings of the harmony between riders and horses. Movements of the horse and rider in equestrian sports are governed by the laws of physics. An understanding of these physical principles is a prerequisite to designing and interpreting biomechanical studies of equestrian sports. This article explains and explores the biomechanical effects between riders and horses, including gravitational and inertial forces, turning effects, and characteristics of rider technique that foster synchronous movement with the horse. Rider symmetry, posture, and balance are discussed in the context of their relationship to rider skill level and their effects on the horse. Evidence is presented to support the feasibility of improving equestrian performance by off-horse testing followed by unmounted therapy and exercises to target the identified deficiencies. Beethoven's lessons in Vienna with Haydn, Albrechtsberger, and Salieri are well known, but considerably less has been written about his earlier studies in Bonn. This article examines what Beethoven may have learned from two treatises that Gustav Nottebohm (1873) connected to Beethoven's Bonn manuscripts: Johann Philipp Kirnberger's Die wahren Grundsätze zum Gebrauch der Harmonie (1773) and Georg Joseph Vogler's Gründe der Kuhrpfälzischen Tonschule in Beyspielen (1776, revised in 1778). I corroborate the evidence that links these treatises to Beethoven, analyze and categorize their contents, and suggest some parallels between materials in these treatises and Beethoven's Bonn works including his "Elector" piano sonatas (WoO 47; 1783) and his two unusual preludes for piano or organ (op. 39; 1789, published in 1803). From what we know of Beethoven's studies in Vienna, several pillars of standard eighteenthcentury musical education are missing: the study of solfeggio, thoroughbass, and harmony. This article makes the case that Beethoven encountered this training in Bonn. From Kirnberger's Grundsätze, he would have learned about the fundamental bass, harmonic function and progression, and the principles of prolongation. In Vogler's book, he would have encountered solfeggio exercises, common thoroughbass patterns including the Rule of the Octave, invertible sequences, diminution patterns, modulations schemes to every key, the fundamental bass, and more. Although these two treatises were not the only books Beethoven likely studied in Bonn, they offer probable windows into his formative lessons in music theory, improvisation, and composition. There is hardly any treatise which could be too learned for me. I have not the slightest pretension to what is properly called erudition. Yet from my childhood I have striven to understand what the better and wiser people of every age were driving at in their works.
