Abstract To clarify the relationship between GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) crustal deformation and the preparation of strong earthquakes in the western Chinese Mainland, a series of methods including velocity field, strain rate field, and strain parameter time series are adopted based on the GNSS observation data from the CMONOC (Crustal Movement Observation Network of China). The abnormal characteristics of crustal deformation movement before the M ≥ 5 earthquakes in the area since 1999 are studied. The corresponding variety of the crustal movement before earthquakes is discussed in combination with the seismogenic structure of earthquakes. The abnormalities of the GNSS velocity field, strain field, and strain parameter time series before earthquakes with different magnitudes are proposed. Finally, the anomaly criterion before medium-strong-large earthquakes in the western Chinese Mainland is proposed according to the GNSS and its combination with the characteristics of geological structure. The results can provide a basis for the forecasting of the trend and location of medium-strong-large earthquakes in the western Chinese Mainland.

Nitrogen management plays a crucial regulatory role in ensuring rice yield and improving eating quality. In recent years, the significant increase in rice yield has largely relied on the excessive application of nitrogen fertilizers. However, the overuse of nitrogen in rice cultivation has raised widespread concerns due to its contribution to environmental pollution, increased production costs, and risks to human health. At the same time, consumer attention has increasingly shifted towards the eating quality of rice. Therefore, the challenge of improving eating quality while maintaining rice yield has become a key focus of research in this field. This paper reviewed the current domestic and international research on optimizing nitrogen management for rice, with a particular focus on rice yield, starch and protein characteristics, and eating quality. It also analyzed the practical issues associated with nitrogen management in rice production and discussed the prospects of nitrogen management in rice cultivation. This study provided valuable insights for future nitrogen management in rice production, aiming to achieve both high yield and enhanced eating quality.

Escherichia coli, a rod-shaped Gram-negative bacterium, is a significant causative agent of severe clinical bacterial infections. This study aimed to analyze the epidemiology of extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL)-producing mcr-1 -positive E. coli in Shandong, China. We collected 668 non-duplicate ESBL-producing E. coli strains from clinical samples at Shandong Provincial Hospital between January and December 2018, and estimated their minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) using a VITEK® 2 compact system and broth microdilution. Next-generation sequencing and bioinformatic analyses identified the mcr-1 gene and other resistance genes in the polymyxin B-resistant strains. The conjugation experiment assessed the horizontal transfer capacity of the mcr-1 gene. Of the strains collected, 24 polymyxin B-resistant strains were isolated with a positivity rate of 3.59% and among the 668 strains, 19 clinical strains carried the mobile colistin resistance gene mcr-1, with a positivity rate of approximately 2.8%. All 19 clinical strains were resistant to ampicillin, cefazolin, ceftriaxone, ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, and polymyxin B. Seventeen strains successfully transferred the mcr-1 gene into E. coli J53. All transconjugants were resistant to polymyxin B, and carried the drug resistance gene mcr-1. The 19 clinical strains had 14 sequence types (STs), with ST155 (n = 4) being the most common. The whole-genome sequencing results of pECO-POL-29_mcr1 revealed that no ISApl1 insertion sequences were found on either side of the mcr-1 gene. Our study uncovered the molecular epidemiology of mcr-1-carrying ESBL-producing E. coli in the region and suggested horizontal transmission mediated by plasmids as the main mode of mcr-1 transmission.

Abstract Background Dachsous cadherin related 1 (DCHS1) is one of calcium-dependent adhesion membrane proteins and is mainly involved in the development of mammalian tissues. There is a lack of more detailed research on the biological function of DCHS1 in pan-cancer. Materials and methods We evaluated the expression, the prognostic value, the diagnostic value and genomic alterations of DCHS1 by using the databases, including TCGA, UALCAN, HPA, GEPIA2.0 and GSCA. We employed the databases of UCSC, TIMER2.0, TISIDB, GSCA to analyze the association between DCHS1 expression and the immune microenvironment, stemness, TMB, MSI and anticancer drug sensitivity. BioGRID, STRING and GEPIA2.0 were used to perform protein interaction and functional enrichment analysis. Real-time quantitative PCR, CCK8, Transwell assay and Western blot were performed to determine the function of DCHS1 in UCEC. Results DCHS1 is differentially expressed in many cancers and its expression is significantly associated with tumor prognosis and diagnosis. DCHS1 expression was significantly correlated with the infiltration of cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs), Endothelial cell (ECs), and Hematopoietic stem cell in most cancers. In addition, DCHS1 was significantly associated with sensitivity to many antitumor drugs. Functional enrichment analysis revealed that DCHS1-related proteins were involved in Focal adhesion, Endometrial cancer and Wnt signaling pathway. GSEA results showed that DCHS1 was related to epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in many cancers. In vitro experiments in UCEC showed that DCHS1 regulated cell proliferation, migration and EMT. Conclusions Our findings indicated that DCHS1 might be a novel prognostic and diagnostic biomarker and immunotherapy target, and plays an important role in the proliferation, migration and EMT in UCEC.

The evaluation of design results plays a crucial role in the development of design. This study presents a design work evaluation system for design education that assists design instructors in conducting objective evaluations. An automatic design evaluation model based on convolutional neural networks has been established, which enables intelligent evaluation of student design works. During the evaluation process, the CAM is obtained. Simultaneously, an eye-tracking experiment was designed to collect gaze data and generate eye-tracking heat maps. By comparing the heat maps with CAM, an attempt was made to explore the correlation between the focus of the evaluation’s attention on human design evaluation and the CNN intelligent evaluation. The experimental results indicate that there is some certain correlation between humans and CNN in terms of the key points they focus on when conducting an evaluation. However, there are significant differences in background observation. The research results demonstrate that the intelligent evaluation model of CNN can automatically evaluate product design works and effectively classify and predict design product images. The comparison shows a correlation between artificial intelligence and the subjective evaluation of human eyes in evaluation strategy. Introducing artificial intelligence into the field of design evaluation for education has a strong potential to promote the development of design education.

Abstract Background Quantitative analysis of retinal nerve fibers is important for the diagnosis and treatment of optic nerve diseases. Peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) cross-sectional area may give a more accurate quantitative assessment of retinal nerve fibers than RNFL thickness but there have been no previous reports of the peripapillary RNFL cross-sectional area or other parameters. The purpose of the current study was to determine peripapillary RNFL cross-sectional area and its association with other factors in an adult Chinese population. Methods RNFL cross-sectional area was measured during peripapillary circular optical coherence tomography (OCT) scan with a diameter of 12° centered on the optic disc. Correlation between RNFL cross-sectional area and other parameters was evaluated by linear regression analysis in a cross-sectional study of an adult Chinese population. In this study, we are concerned with the existence and exponential stability issue of a delayed differential neoclassical growth model with discontinuous control strategy. By employing the Filippov’s theory and dichotomy theory, together with the Lyapunov functional method, novel criteria on existence and exponential stability are established for the addressed model. The established theoretical results extend and supplement the related results in the existing literature. Moreover, a simulation example is presented to verify the practicability of the proposed results.

Microblogs are currently one of the most well-liked social platforms in China, and sentiment analysis of microblog texts can help further analyze the realization of their media value; however, the current task of sentiment analysis based on microblog information suffers from low accuracy due to the large size and high redundancy of microblog data, a microblog sentiment analysis method using Bidirectional Encoder Representation from Transformers (BERT)–Text Convolutional Neural Network (TextCNN)–Bidirectional Gate Recurrent Unit (BiGRU)–Multihead-Attention model in Spark big data environment is proposed. First, the Chinese pre-trained language model BERT is used to convert the input data into dynamic character-level word vectors; then, TextCNN is used to effectively obtain local features such as keywords and pool the filtered features; then, BiGRU is introduced to quickly capture more comprehensive semantic information; finally, a multi-headed attention mechanism is implemented to emphasize the most significant features in order to accomplish the sentiment classification of microblog information task precisely. By comparing the existing advanced models, the proposed model demonstrates an improvement of at least 4.99% and 0.05 in accuracy and F1-score evaluation indexes, respectively. This enhancement significantly enhances the accuracy of microblog sentiment analysis tasks and aids pertinent authorities in comprehending the inclination of individual’s attitude toward hot topics. Furthermore, it facilitates a prompt prediction of topic trends, enabling them to guide public opinion accordingly.

The composition of phenolics extracted from unripe banana flesh was identified using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled with Q-Exactive Orbitrap mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-Exactive Orbitrap-MS), and the inhibitory effects of banana polyphenols on α-amylase and α-glucosidase were estimated in vitro. In total, 28 compounds were identified, including 21 polyphenols such as esculetin, hyperoside, and kaempferol-3-O-glucoside, 2 organic acids, 3 ellagitannin metabolites, vanillin and coumarin. In addition, dimethyl ellagic acid and urolithin A were the major chromatographic peaks. Banana polyphenols exhibited excellent inhibitory effects on both α-amylase and α-glucosidase with half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of 0.53 mg/mL and 35.76 µg/mL, respectively. At concentrations of 1.0 mg/mL and 160 µg/mL, the inhibition rates of α-amylase activity and α-glucosidase were (76.25 ± 3.79)% and (92.54 ± 0.69)%, respectively. Therefore, polyphenols may be one of the active ingredients contributing to the anti-hypoglycemic effect of unripe bananas.

Voltage instability, power imbalance, and unreliability are caused mainly by equipment failure in the distribution system, so it is important to accurately and quickly assess the status of distribution network equipment. However, it is challenging to detect equipment failures, the traditional XGBoost algorithm is unsuitable because some evaluation indices are incompetent to quantify. To address these issues, we propose a fast evaluation method for the state of electrical distribution equipment based on fuzzy decision-making. Firstly, key indices are selected from the multi-source equipment information. Secondly, this paper constructs the mapping between key indices and equipment status scores by combining the fuzzy iterative method and the XGBoost algorithm. Finally, the proposed assessment model is confirmed by using the distribution transformers as an example. The result shows that the proposed multi-source information assessment method can quickly and accurately determine the operation status of electrical distribution equipment, and the proposed method has better accuracy than the traditional method.

The ovarian surface epithelium (OSE) is a single layer of squamous-to-cuboidal epithelial cells that experience repetitive ovulatory rupture and subsequent repair. However, the characteristics of human immortalized ovarian surface epithelial cells (IOSE80) remain elusive. This study aims to determine whether IOSE80 cells have the characteristics of stem cell proliferation and multilineage differentiation and their application in regenerative medicine. IOSE80 cells are sequenced by high-throughput transcriptome analysis, and 5 sets of public data are used to compare the differences between IOSE80 cells and bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, pluripotent stem cells, and oocytes in transcriptome profiling. The advancement of unloading technology in combine harvesting is crucial for the intelligent development of agricultural machinery. Accurately measuring material pile height in transport vehicles is essential, as uneven accumulation can lead to spillage and voids, reducing loading efficiency. Relying solely on manual observation for measuring stack height can decrease harvesting efficiency and pose safety risks due to driver distraction. This research applies binocular vision to agricultural harvesting, proposing a novel method that uses a stereo matching algorithm to measure material pile height during harvesting. By comparing distance measurements taken in both empty and loaded states, the method determines stack height. A linear regression model processes the stack height data, enhancing measurement accuracy. A binocular vision system was established, applying Zhang’s calibration method on the MATLAB (R2019a) platform to correct camera parameters, achieving a calibration error of 0.15 pixels. The study implemented block matching (BM) and semi-global block matching (SGBM) algorithms using the OpenCV (4.8.1) library on the PyCharm (2020.3.5) platform for stereo matching, generating disparity, and pseudo-color maps. Three-dimensional coordinates of key points on the piled material were calculated to measure distances from the vehicle container bottom and material surface to the binocular camera, allowing for the calculation of material pile height. Furthermore, a linear regression model was applied to correct the data, enhancing the accuracy of the measured pile height. The results indicate that by employing binocular stereo vision and stereo matching algorithms, followed by linear regression, this method can accurately calculate material pile height. The average relative error for the BM algorithm was 3.70%, and for the SGBM algorithm, it was 3.35%, both within the acceptable precision range. While the SGBM algorithm was, on average, 46 ms slower than the BM algorithm, both maintained errors under 7% and computation times under 100 ms, meeting the real-time measurement requirements for combine harvesting. In practical operations, this method can effectively measure material pile height in transport vehicles. The choice of matching algorithm should consider container size, material properties, and the balance between measurement time, accuracy, and disparity map completeness. This approach aids in manual adjustment of machinery posture and provides data support for future autonomous master-slave collaborative operations in combine harvesting.

Abstract Purpose To characterize the phenotype and genotype of a Chinese family with autosomal‐dominant retinitis pigmentosa (RP) accompanied by iris coloboma. Methods The proband, a 34‐year‐old male, was examined with his family by using fundus photography, optical coherence tomography (OCT), autofluorescence, and full‐field electroretinography (ffERG). Genetic analyses were conducted through whole‐exome sequencing (WES) to screen for variations. Results Three members of this Chinese family were shown to be bilateral iris coloboma. The male proband and his mother exhibited typical RP feature. The proband's late grandfather had been documented manifestation of iris coloboma. The mode of inheritance was confirmed to be autosomal dominance. Through linkage analysis and WES, a heterozygous variation in the miR‐204 gene (n.37C>T), a noncoding RNA gene, was identified in these three members. Conclusions In this third independent and the first Asian family, the existence of a miR‐204 variant associated with RP accompanied by iris coloboma was confirmed. Our findings reinforce the significance of miR‐204 as an important factor influencing visual function in the retina. When phenotypes like RP accompanied by iris coloboma in an autosomal‐dominant pattern, including in Chinese patients, miR‐204 aberrations should be considered.

Pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (PAP) is a rare lung disease characterized by the accumulation of large amounts of phospholipid protein-like surfactant material in the alveolar spaces, leading to severe hypoxemia and respiratory failure. The disease has an insidious onset and is difficult to diagnose in the early stages. Its clinical manifestations primarily include progressive dyspnea and coughing. Currently, whole lung lavage (WLL) is the preferred and effective treatment for PAP, as it improves alveolar ventilation function. Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor is used clinically in the treatment of a variety of disease. Nebulized granulocyte–macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) has a certain therapeutic effect on PAP. Here, we report a case of PAP treated with WLL combined with nebulized GM-CSF, which achieved good therapeutic effects during a 4-year follow-up period, to enhance understanding of the disease.

In the present work, we introduced a novel way to study the Tafel slope of titanium in passive state based on potentiodynamic test with a break by potentiostatic polarization. The power law model as well as surface analysis methods such as AES and XPS were also introduced to character the thickness and composition of the film. Results indicate that the Tafel slope of titanium electrode in the passive state increases with the applied overpotential. The anodizing constant is found to be equal to about 0.24–0.46 Å/s and 4–10 Å/V. The results showing highly consistent with AES and XPS results. The passive film are mainly composed of TiO2 predominantly outer layer, and titanium sub-oxide, Ti(OH)x predominantly inner layer.

The nickel content of nickel-based high-temperature alloy is between 50% and 70%, and the alloy contents of chromium, iron, cobalt, molybdenum, aluminum, titanium and tungsten are within 20%. A method of high resolution plasma mass spectrometry was established to determine the trace elements in nickel-based high-temperature alloy. According to the principle of large isotope abundance, small interference and high sensitivity, the isotopes and resolution of the elements to be measured were optimized, the interferences of most of the multi-atom and double-charged ions were effectively eliminated. The mass spectral interferences of matrix, compositions of alloy and dissolving acid on the trace elements were investigated. The appropriate internal standard of caesium was selected to overcome the matrix effect and reduce the signal drift. Chromium was extracted by methylisobutylone, the extraction efficiency reached up to 99.7%, which eliminated the mass spectral interference of principal component molybdenum in the nickel-based high-temperature alloy. The linear correlation coefficient of the calibration curve was greater than 0.999, and the method detection limit was between 0.002 1 and 0.074 μg/g. The trace elements in the reference material was analyzed, the relative standard deviation (RSD, n=6) was between 2.9% and 7.8%, and the measured value was very consistent with the standard value. This method is simple, fast, accurate and reliable, which can meet the requirement of trace elements determination in nickel-based high-temperature alloy.

To study the characteristics of the present crustal movement in the Tibetan Plateau and explore its relationship between strong earthquakes with magnitudes of 8 and above, the velocity field size was analyzed based on the global position system (GPS) campaign observations and the time series of site north-ward displacement and long baseline were discussed using the GPS continuous observations. The results show that the velocity field size in the Tibetan Plateau decreases from southwest to north, northeast, and southeast, and the value of the velocity in the west is significantly greater than that in the east in the same dimension. The maximum value is located in the southwest and the minimum value is located in the east. The Wenchuan earthquake is located in the mutation region, where the rate and the direction of the crustal movement are quite different. The crustal deformation extent is large in the region close to the seismic source before the earthquake, reflecting that the regional stress accumulation is fast and its required time is relatively short. However, the crustal deformation extent is relatively small in the region away from the seismic source before the earthquake, reflecting that the regional stress accumulation is slow and its required time is relatively long. The N-ward movement became significantly strong after Nepal M S 8.1 earthquake; the occurrence of this earthquake may have caused the unlocking of large-scale faults near the seismic source, which further intensified the NE-ward subduction and collision of the Indian Plate. The compression of the Indian Plate to the Tibetan Plateau slowed down after the 2008 Wenchuan M S 8.0 earthquake, and increased significantly after 2015, which boosted strain accumulation in the Tibetan Plateau, and attention needs to be paid continuously to strong earthquake risk in this region.

New social, economic, cultural, and technological trends bring new challenges to designers, and the use of data intelligence analytics is a very promising way to improve the efficiency and quality of their results. In this paper, we use convolutional neural networks to improve and optimize the GAN model, resulting in a more stable DCGAN network model. Visual innovation-related features are inputted into the discriminator in the DCGAN model, and creative visual images are automatically generated in the generator under the constraint label restriction. The network parameters of the DCGAN model are optimized through the training process to construct the brand image design process of automated visual creativity. The performance test analysis of the DCGAN model reveals that the analysis results of its IS index and FID index values are much higher than those of the WGAN and CGAN models, indicating that the generated visual creative images have high quality. The analysis of the visual creativity of the designed brand image found that the subjects’ favorability of the brand image intended by the DCGAN model reached 3.57 points on average and brought a visual feast to the subjects. This paper provides support for the application of Generative Adversarial Networks in the field of brand image design and achieves automated brand creative image design.

With the construction of China’s socialist modernization, the social demand for practical talents is increasing. In this paper, in the multi-objective optimization problem of social practice parenting in colleges and universities, each planning objective is assigned to select an adaptability function. And the individuals are sorted and stratified according to the calculated fitness values to generate sub-fitness tasks that are more suitable for promoting individuals in each layer. Finally, using college students and faculty members from five universities in province G as a research case, the entropy weight method is used to calculate the weights of secondary indicators in the multi-objective optimization model, which together form a set of particle vectors and search for the optimal solution within a limited range. The results show that the final calculation of the indicators affecting social practice in colleges and universities yields a mean value of 4.27, close to the set value of 5. It shows that the multi-objective optimization has good adaptability and the solution results are more accurate. At the same time, it is found that the empirical measurements are all in line with the actual situation of the universities, which once again shows that the model’s design is reasonable and practical.

Chinese national community consciousness is the ideological foundation for realizing the Chinese dream. The influence of ethnic literature promotion on national community consciousness is examined through a multiple linear regression model in this paper. Using the empirical analysis method and the data from the Questionnaire for Predicting the Main Factors Affecting the Chinese National Community Consciousness, the paper conducts correlation and regression analyses on the overall level, group differences, and influencing factors of the Chinese national community consciousness at different stages, and draws out the overall characteristics of the Chinese national community consciousness and the reasons for the differences in the promotion of ethnic literature. As shown by the results, there is a strong correlation between the promotion behavior of ethnic literature and Chinese national community consciousness, with a correlation coefficient of 0.584. The mediating variable’s perceived confirmation of community consciousness has a significant regression coefficient of 0.372. The research in this paper provides the most direct empirical evidence for the behavioral tendency to build a strong sense of the Chinese national community and maintain the unity of the national community.

This paper uses affective computing and mood measures to calculate the negative emotional status of college students during school closures. The psychological data of university students at the University of H were counted using the affective computing model and psychometric methods, the frequency of their negative emotion words was mined, and the changes of each psychometric index were analyzed in terms of the time dimension, stressor, anxiety status, and emotional state, respectively. The epidemic closure period had a great negative impact on students. From January 20 to December 20, 2021, college students’ positive mood characteristic value declined. The negative mood characteristic value increased, and the negative mood characteristic value was always higher than the positive mood characteristic value. Finally, the negative mood characteristic value of 0.27 was much higher than the positive mood characteristic value of 0.07, and there were various discomforts such as about 40% of people were nervous, depressed, lacked motivation, and had diminished interest; at the same time, feelings of difficulty in accomplishing goals, failure, fear, anxiety, and frustration emerged. The epidemic closure greatly impacted students’ psychology, and students’ psychological problems need to be taken seriously and receive timely guidance.

Abstract Endometrial cancer (EC) is one of the most common gynecologic malignancies. Identification of potential EC biomarkers is essential to improve the prognosis and development of therapies against EC. Synaptotagmin-like protein 1 (SYTL1), as a small GTPase Rab27 effector, mainly plays a role in vesicle trafficking and cytotoxic granule exocytosis in lymphocytes. However the role of SYTL1 in EC remains uncertain. We performed a comprehensive assessment of the relationship between SYTL1 and patient diagnosis and prognosis by analysis of EC patients’ data from TCGA. We employed the LinkedOmics and Search Tool for the Retrieval of Interacting Genes/Proteins (STRING) database to analyze the biological function of SYTL1 in EC. In addition, the correlation between SYTL1 expression and its DNA methylation was performed by using cBioportal, UALCAN, TCGA Wanderer and MethSurv databases. We further assessed the link between SYTL1 and tumor-infiltrating immune cells by using gene set variation analysis (GSVA). Results We found that SYTL1 was highly expressed in EC patients and cell lines. And increased expression of SYTL1 was associated with age, clinical stage, histological type, histological grade and good overall survival (OS).SYTL1 DNA methylation is negatively associated with SYTL1 expression and UCEC patients’ OS. SYTL1 expression is closely correlated with immune infiltration. Furthermore, we carried out in vitro experiments to verify the results of bioinformatic analysis. Conclusion Our results demonstrated that the elevation of SYTL1 expression is associated with good OS and SYTL1 might be a potential diagnostic and prognostic marker in EC.

Abstract Pregnant women infected with HCV should be given attention due to their special physiological stage and the effect on offspring health. To examine the prevalence of HCV infection among pregnant women in part of China and explore relevant factors during pregnancy, a cross-sectional study was conducted in four maternal and children health care institutions (MCHC) in Guangdong, Hunan and Chongqing. Pregnant women who were delivered, induced or spontaneous abortion were included and relevant information was collected through the Hospital Information System. Results showed that the prevalence of HCV among pregnant women in four MCHCs was 0.11% (95% CI 0.09–0.13%). This article takes five major corn production areas as an example, uses data envelopment analysis to measure the cost efficiency and makes an empirical analysis of the impact of human capital on cost efficiency and its action path by using bidirectional fixed-effect model. It is found that the impact of educational human capital on cost efficiency presents a positive ‘U' shape, and there are differences among different regions through technical efficiency and allocation efficiency paths. Healthy human capital has a significant positive impact on cost efficiency, but with the increase of the number, its role will gradually weaken, except for the southwest region, and its impact path is allocation efficiency. The impact of technical human capital on cost efficiency shows a positive ‘U’ type change, and the change of each production area is roughly the same as the whole. Its impact on cost efficiency is mainly realised through allocation efficiency. This article provides a theoretical basis for different policy measures to better play the role of human capital in improving cost efficiency in China.

In this study, copper nanoparticles were synthesised according to green chemistry rules using the aqueous extract of Alhagi maurorum. The green-synthesised CuNPs were characterised using different techniques such as EDX, FE-SEM, XRD and FT-IR. The FE-SEM results confirm spherical morphology for the nanoparticles with a size of 42.68–68.87 nm. In vivo, the Mycoplasma pneumonia injection was applied for inducing pneumonia in the BALB/c mice, also the treatment was with CuNPs. The serum parameters such as inflammatory mediators (IL-6, TNF-α, IL-8, TGF and IL-1), total cell counts, and total protein content levels were evaluated. CuNPs regulated the levels of the inflammatory mediators in the infected mice. The cellular arrangements at the histopathological images were ameliorated with the administration of CuNPs. At the antioxidant test, the CuNPs and BHT removed 50% of free radicals at the concentrations of 181 and 110 µg/ml. In conclusion, the results revealed the ameliorative property of CuNPs green-formulated by A. maurorum aqueous extract on M. pneumoniae infected pneumonia mice model.

Background and purpose: Microsatellite instability (MSI) and mismatch repair (MMR) defects have attracted much attention recently as one of the important biomarkers for pan-tumor immunotherapy such as colorectal cancer (CRC). Conventional methods for MSI detection with polymerase chain reaction (PCR) often require non-tumor controls as well as a long turnaround time. The IdyllaTM system as a fully automated quantitative PCR unit with a turnaround time of only 2.5 h should be proved for its reliability among Chinese CRC patients before application. Methods: Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue samples were collected from 87 CRC patients in Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center from March 2017 to March 2019 and were subjected to detect MMR protein expression and MSI using immunochemistry (IHC), conventional PCR (Promega MSI analysis) and the IdyllaTM MSI system, respectively. Results: Of the 87 CRC patients enrolled, 56 cases were identified to be deficient MMR (dMMR)/MSI-high (MSI-H) and 31 to be proficient MMR (pMMR)/microsatellite stable (MSS) by both IHC and Promega MSI analysis. However, 4 cases with dMMR/MSI-H were determined to be MSS and one case with pMMR/MSS to be MSI-H using IdyllaTM MSI system, yielding a sensitivity of 92.9% (52/56), specificity of 96.8% (30/31) and an overall concordance of 94.3% (82/87). Then, the above five discordant cases were re-examined using IdyllaTM with resection tissues, as a result, four cases with ≥20% tumor contents changed to be consistent with IHC/Promega MSI assay, however, there was still one inconsistent case with only 5% tumor content. Subsequently, the case was reconfirmed using IdyllaTM with enriched tumor tissue by macrodissection, as expected, the result was demonstrated to be MSI-H, consistent with Promega MSI analysis and IHC. Furthermore, repeatability of the IdyllaTM MSI assay was proved to be reliable in 5 cases with various tumor contents (20%-60%). Conclusion: The IdyllaTM MSI system provides a fast, reliable and fully automated solution to MSI detection in Chinese CRC patients with high sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility, especially for CRC with more than 20% tumor contents.

In the context of the operation of China’s carbon emissions trading market, carbon cost pass-through will profoundly impact the country’s power generation industry. However, the core of studying carbon cost pass-through in the power generation industry is determining the carbon cost pass-through rate (CCPTR). Based on this, this paper first takes the Cournot model as the basic principle, which analyzes the impact of different power generation enterprises’ numbers and the characteristics of electricity market demand on the carbon pass-through results. Secondly, based on the Cournot model, this paper further CCPTR under marginal cost variability. The research results show that when the demand function is linear, the larger the CCPTR, the larger the proportion of carbon cost pass-through. When the demand function is isoelastic, the smaller the CCPTR, the smaller the proportion of carbon cost pass-through.

Biogranules are recently regarded as promising methods with intensive density and satisfying settleability for waste treatment and resource recovery. Wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) were regarded as “sinks” for Microplastics (MPs) and amount of MPs entrapped in the sludge. MPs have been reported to harm the granular characteristics and wastewater treatment efficiency. Previous research stated that the harmful effect on granular sludge is closely associated with the sizes and concentrations of MPs. However, there is still a lack of a comprehensive summary of granular characteristics variation and further investigation of its influential mechanisms for treatment capability. This work gives informative clues for the regulation mechanisms, especially the microorganisms’ response after the exposure of MPs, and provides fundamentals for stable operation and risk control strategies using granular sludge in treating microplastics containing wastewater.

This can provide a differentiated design for the anti-corrosion of important equipment such as power grid transmission and transformation engineering components Provide effective data support for engineering life prediction and operation and maintenance. At present, the system has been piloted and promoted in some network provinces, achieving good social and economic benefits.

When a car is operating, the road roughness will cause it to vibrate. When this vibration reaches a particular threshold, the driver will get uncomfortable and fatigued, affecting the bearing system’s durability and longevity. The vehicle vibration virtual test system’s framework design and implementation approach is based on virtual reality (VR), and it is made up of a VR subsystem, a model subsystem, and a virtual instrument subsystem. A virtual car vibration test system based on VR is built, and the results of the virtual vehicle vibration test are reported. The findings indicate that the virtual test (VT) technology theoretical model pertains to the creation of VT systems for car vibration based on VR. Users may monitor the vehicle vibration as well as its time domain and frequency domain signals in three separate observation modes using the system.

Background: Today, with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the governments and international institutions are taking various approaches to control the infections. This study aims to propose an improved susceptible-exposed-infectious-removed (SEIR) model to predict the future trend of pandemic and assess the effectiveness of prevention and control strategies. Materials and Methods: A new SEIR model was developed by adding two Q1 and Q2 isolation parameters (at home and hospital) named “SEIR-Q1Q2” to predict the future trend of pandemic, and assess the effectiveness of prevention and control strategies in Ezhou, Hubei province, China. The stimulation was conducted in Python by evaluating the effects of pandemic knowledge dissemination, medical supply, and both. Results: due to the lack of knowledge of the disease risk, there was no strong tendency towards self-isolation, and the outbreak time coincided with the start of the Spring Festival, China’s major holiday, when many Chinse people are gathered and have close contact with each other. Therefore, it was not possible to disseminate the knowledge of pandemic, which let the virus kill many people. Conclusion: The SEIR-Q1Q2 model can be used to predict the future trend of the COVID-19 pandemic by proposing the dissemination of the pandemic knowledge and increasing the supply of medical resources.

One of the most important trends for advanced diesel engines is downsizing, i.e., higher power density, which means more fuel is burned in a shorter period. In order to achieve rapid combustion for a high-power density diesel engine, the effects of bowl shape, diameter-to-depth ratio of bowl, and arrangement of nozzle holes on combustion and performance were investigated by CFD simulation. The effects of four bowl shapes, two of which were double-layer split bowls (DLSBs), as well as four diameter-to-depth ratios and three arrangements of nozzle holes were numerically assessed. The results show that the DLSB with a shallow dish-like structure yielded a remarkable effect of swirling flow by fuel splitting into upper- and lower-layer zones, which improved fuel–air mixing, shortened combustion duration, thus, resulting in high combustion efficiency and power density. Moreover, with the increase in diameter-to-depth ratio of the B type DLSB, the turbulent kinetic energy and the peak of pressure and heat release rate increased, further increasing power density. Finally, when the DLSB with a diameter-to-depth ratio of 2.0 is coupled with the staggered double-layer arrangement of nozzle holes, the in-cylinder mixtures became more uniform at both the circumferential and radial directions, and the combustion was considerably accelerated, achieving an optimum specific power of 122.6 kW·L−1. Meanwhile, there was a slight decrement for peak pressure and NOx emission, and smoke decreased by 49.1%, which revealed substantial improvement in reduction in mechanical load and emissions.

Not many reports have covered large-scale point of care testing (POCT) blood glucose comparisons, and many interfering factors affect detection. This study aims to verify the performance of POCT blood glucose meters and discusses the factors that interfere with detection.

Foxtail millet, a high-quality coarse cereal, is generally used to cook porridge. Cooked foxtail millet is another food product of this cereal. However, a systematic evaluation method for the eating quality of cooked foxtail millet has not yet been established. In this study, heater type, millet-to-water mass ratio, water type, and soaking time affecting the edible quality of cooked foxtail millet (Variety: Zhangzagu 13) were investigated. The hardness viscometer, colorimeter and sensory evaluation were used to comprehensively evaluate the edible quality of millet. The optimal cooking method was determined as follows: Firstly, put 300 g of millet in an electric cooker and wash twice with deionized water quickly. Secondly, add deionized water in a mass ratio of millet to water 1.0∶2.0 and soak for 30 min. Finally, cook millet for about 45 minutes in the essence rice mode. After cooking, stir well and stew for 20 min. This research provides an important scientific basis for foxtail millet cooking and edible quality evaluation.

Cadmium sulfide quantum dots (CdS QDs) are being developed for sensors, fluorescent probes, and other platforms and are attracting increasing attention. Given the growing demand for QDs, it is clear that there is a need to understand their potential toxicity to organisms. However, little is known regarding the genotoxicity of CdS QDs to humans. Therefore, this study used CdS QDs as the research object, cultured human peripheral blood lymphocytes, and randomly divided them into a control group, CdS I group (CdS QDs), and CdS II group (CdS QDs coated with thioglycolic acid). After cultivation, we measured the olive tail distance, tail length, tail DNA%, lymphocyte micronucleus rate, and aneuploid rate. The comet test results indicated that the indices of the QD group were significantly larger than those of the control group (P < 0.05). The results of the micronucleus and chromosome aberration tests showed that the lymphocyte micronucleus rate and chromosome aneuploid rate in the QD group were significantly increased (P < 0.05) compared with those in the control group. In conclusion, CdS QDs have certain genotoxicity to human peripheral blood lymphocytes, and the DNA damage caused by CdS QDs encapsulated with thioglycolic acid is less severe than that caused by nonencapsulated CdS QDs.

BackgroundThe effect of post-operation sub-Tenon's bupivacaine injection for pediatric strabismus surgery is controversial. The objective of this meta-analysis is to compare the outcome of sub-Tenon injection of bupivacaine and placebo duringstrabismus surgery.MethodsWe searched the databases (Pubmed, Cochrane library and EMBASE) and reference lists systematically. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing sub-Tenon's bupivacaine and placebo injection for pediatric strabismus surgery were included. The methodological quality was evaluated by the Cochrane risk of bias (ROB) tool. Outcome measurements were pain score, oculocardiac reflex (OCR), additional drug consumption and related complications. RevMan 5.4 was used for the statistical analysis and graph preparation. For the outcomes that are not suitable for statistical analysis, descriptive analysis was performed.ResultsA total of 5 RCTs with 217 patients were finally identified and analyzed. Sub-Tenon's bupivacaine injection showed pain relief within 30 min after operation. But with the extension of time, the analgesic effect gradually disappeared at 1 h. It can reduce the incidence of OCR, vomiting and supplementary drug requirements. However, in terms of nausea, there is no difference between the two groups.ConclusionSub-Tenon's bupivacaine injection can relieve short-term postoperative pain, reduce the incidence of OCR and vomiting, and reduce the use of supplementary drugs in strabismus surgery.

The low-salt pickling process maintained the quality of the salted duck egg yolk, and can be regard as a healthy alternative to the traditional curing process. Fungal infections are still a major challenge for clinics, resulting from the resistance of drug-resistant fungi and the toxicity of antifungal drugs. Defense against fungal invasions via enzymatic catalysis has been found in nature. The use of nanozymes, as artificial enzyme mimics, may be a promising strategy to induce fungal death due to their advantages such as tunable catalytic activity, high stability, low cost, and easy preparation. Here, the importance of natural enzymes in the defense against fungi is outlined. The progress in antifungal performance and potential application of nanozymes and the related antifungal mechanisms are also summarized. Finally, the perspective and challenges in this field for future study, pointing out that nanozyme-based catalytic therapy represents a promising alternative strategy for antifungal treatment, are highlighted.

This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) and diabetic retinopathy (DR) and analyze whether DR is a risk factor for AMD. This population-based epidemiological study included 14,440 people from the Kailuan Eye Study in 2016, of whom 1,618 were patients with type 2 DM aged over 50 years, and 409 had DM with DR. We analyzed whether there were differences in the prevalence of AMD between DM with DR and DM without DR, and conducted a hierarchical statistical analysis according to different stages of DR. Using variable regression analysis, we explored whether DR constituted a risk factor for AMD. In the DM population, the prevalence of wet AMD in patients with DM with and without DR was 0. 3 and 0.2%, respectively, with no significant difference (P = 0.607). Meanwhile, the prevalence of dry AMD in patients with DM with and without DR was 20.8 and 16.0%, respectively, with a significant difference. In the subgroup analysis of dry AMD, the prevalence of early, middle, and late dry AMD in DM with DR was 14.4, 5.9, and 0.5%, respectively. In DM without DR, the prevalence of early, middle, and late dry AMD was 10.5, 4.8, and 0.7%, respectively (P = 0.031). In the subgroup analysis of DR staging, statistical analysis could not be performed because of the limited number of patients with PDR. In the variable regression analysis of risk factors for dry AMD, after adjusting for age, sex, body mass index, hypertension, and dyslipidemia, DR constituted the risk factor for dry AMD. In conclusion, DM did not constitute a risk factor for AMD, and the prevalence of wet AMD and dry AMD in patients with DM and DR was higher than that in patients with DM without DR (among which dry AMD was statistically significant). Multivariate regression analysis confirmed that DR is an independent risk factor for dry AMD. Reasonable control of DM and slowing down the occurrence and development of DR may effectively reduce the prevalence of AMD in patients with DM.

Objective: To establish gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) fingerprint method for the petroleum ether fraction of Shenqi Jiangtang Granules (SQJTG) and evaluate the product quality. Methods: The GC-MS fingerprint of petroleum ether fraction of SQJTG was established by GC-MS, and the chemical components corresponding to the fingerprint peaks were structurally identified on NIST2014. The batch consistency of SQJTG products was evaluated based on the chemical composition of petroleum ether parts by using fingerprint similarity evaluation and Principal components analysis (PCA) technology. At the same time, Hotelling's T2 and DMODX statistics are used to set the control range for the quality of different batches of products. Results: Twenty-two components were identified from the petroleum ether part of SQJTG, accounting for 60.94% of the total components separated. The similarity of fingerprints of petroleum ether parts of 24 batches of SQJTG was greater than 0.95. The PCA of 24 batches of samples were all under the control limits of Hotellin’s T2 and DMODX statistics, indicating that the petroleum ether parts of different batches of SQJTG were consistent. Conclusion: The developed GC-MS fingerprint method can be used to evaluate the quality of SQJTG.

Rotary voice coil actuators (RVCAs) are commonly used for precision servo drive systems working within limited angle range in some fields including aerospace. In this paper, expressions of RVCAs’ peak torque and peak loss are derived based on a simple magnetic circuit model, and influences of wire diameter and equivalent area on peak torque and peak loss are analyzed. Especially, two unique influences of installing dimension and environment temperature for this type of motor are researched as well. Armature reaction and its restraining for this type of actuator are also studied. Finally, several effective measures of improving RVCAs’ torques are summarized, which are of important value in practical engineering applications.

Ozone is a crucial air pollutant that damages human health and vegetation. As it is related to the photo-oxidation of the nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds, the summertime reduction of these precursors is the primary focus of current ozone mitigation strategies. During ozone pollution episodes in eastern China, an observed accumulation of daily total oxidants (Ox=NO2+O3) in cool seasons (spring and autumn: 60 ppb and winter 40 ppb) is comparable to that in summer (60 ppb), indicating fast photochemical production of secondary pollutants including ozone over the year. Unrecognized fast radical primary productions are found to counteract the increased termination of hydroxyl radical and unfavorable meteorological conditions to maintain the rapid total oxidant formations in cool seasons. Elucidating and regulating the primary radical sources may be critical for the secondary air pollution control in cool seasons.

In the present study, we deal with the space–time fractional KdV–MKdV equation and the space–time fractional Konopelchenko–Dubrovsky equation in the sense of the conformable fractional derivative. By means of the extend (G′G)\left(\tfrac{G^{\prime} }{G}\right)-expansion method, many exact solutions are obtained, which include hyperbolic function solutions, trigonometric function solutions and rational solutions. The results show that the extend (G′G)\left(\tfrac{G^{\prime} }{G}\right)-expansion method is an efficient technique for solving nonlinear fractional partial equations. We also provide some graphical representations to demonstrate the physical features of the obtained solutions.

Under the current national conditions and policy support, nuclear heating has flourished. Domestic nuclear power units mainly generate electricity, and nuclear heating as a clean energy source is one of the main ways to solve winter heating in the north. This paper first compares and analyzes the two different ways of nuclear heating, then takes the nuclear heating of Haiyang Nuclear Power Station as an example, based on the mature experience of steam extraction heating transformation of thermal power units, makes an economic analysis on the steam extraction transformation of PWR nuclear power units from the characteristics of the thermal system combined with the Spot market, and finally makes an economic evaluation on the Cogeneration nuclear power units.

Biochar is extensively used for ameliorating soil structure. However, the evaluation of soil physical properties influenced by its large-scale use is still unclear. Moreover, research on biochar is mainly based on laboratory tests, lacking medium and long-term field positioning tests. In this study, a local field trial was conducted for 3 years on the Loess Plateau in central Gansu, China. Six levels of biochar treatment were set with application amounts of 0 t·ha-1, 10 t· ha-1, 20 t·ha-1, 30 t·ha-1, 40 t·ha-1, and 50 t·ha-1 (CK, T1, T2, T3, T4, and T5, respectively). The influence of various input levels of biochar on soil porosity, bulk density, aggregate stability, and soil saturated hydraulic conductivity from the 0 cm to 30 cm layer were studied during the three years of wheat field experiments. The experimental study indicates that the increase of biochar addition can significantly (p < 0.05) reduce soil bulk density and increase not only soil saturated hydraulic conductivity but also total soil porosity, content of soil mechanically stable aggregates, and its MWD from the 0 cm to 30 cm soil layer. Among them, T5 treatment is the most significant (p < 0.05). While its content determination of Water Stable aggregates and its MWD only have an obvious (p < 0.05) improvement effect from the 0 cm to 20 cm soil layer, and T5 is the most significant. Therefore, large-scale biochar application is conducive to the improvement of farmland soil physical properties in this region.
