During short baseline measurements in the Real-Time Kinematic Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS-RTK), multipath error has a significant impact on the quality of observed data. Aiming at the characteristics of multipath error in GNSS-RTK measurements, a novel method that combines improved complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive noise (ICEEMDAN) and adaptive wavelet packet threshold denoising (AWPTD) is proposed to reduce the effects of multipath error in GNSS-RTK measurements through modal function decomposition, effective coefficient sieving, and adaptive thresholding denoising. It first utilizes the ICEEMDAN algorithm to decompose the observed data into a series of intrinsic mode functions (IMFs). Then, a novel IMF selection method is designed based on information entropy to accurately locate the IMFs containing multipath error information. Finally, an optimized adaptive denoising method is applied to the selected IMFs to preserve the original signal characteristics to the maximum possible extent and improve the accuracy of the multipath error correction model. This study shows that the ICEEMDAN-AWPTD algorithm provides a multipath error correction model with higher accuracy compared to singular filtering algorithms based on the results of simulation data and GNSS-RTK data. With the development and integration of GNSS systems in the world, the positioning accuracy and reliability of GNSS navigation services are increasing in various fields. Because the current multisystem fusion leads to an increase in the ambiguity dimension and the ambiguity parameters have discrete characteristics, the current conventional search algorithm leads to low search efficiency when the ambiguity dimension is large. Therefore, this paper describes a new algorithm that searches the optimal lattice points by lattice theory through the breadth-first algorithm and reduces the search space of ambiguity by calculating and judging the Euclidean distance between each search variable and the target one so as to propose a new lattice ambiguity search algorithm based on the breadth-first algorithm. With the development of materials science and biomedicine, the application of nanomaterials in the medical field is further promoted. In the process of the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, a variety of drugs need to be used. It is an ideal state to make these drugs arrive at a specific location at a specific time and release at a specific speed, which can improve the bioavailability of drugs and reduce the adverse effects of drugs on normal tissues. Traditional drug delivery methods such as tablets, capsules, syrups, and ointments have certain limitations. The emergence of a new nano-drug delivery system further improves the accuracy of drug delivery and the efficacy of drugs. It is well known that the development of the cancer of the stomach is the most serious consequence for the infection of Helicobacter pylori. For the patients who are suffering from gastric cancer, the treatments are mainly surgery, chemotherapy, targeted and immune therapy, and other comprehensive treatments. Although great progress has been made, the diagnosis and prognosis of gastric cancer are still poor with patients usually diagnosed with cancer at an advanced stage. Current treatments are of limited benefits for patients, resulting in a poor 5-year survival rate. Nanomaterials may play a critical role in early diagnosis. A nano-drug delivery system can significantly improve the chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy of advanced gastric cancer, reduce the side effects of the original treatment plan and provide patients with better benefits. Summary: The search for an effective nature‐inspired optimization technique has certainly continued for decades. This work proposes a novel robust multi‐user detection algorithm based on Grey wolf optimization and differential evolution algorithm to overcome the problem of high bit error rate (BER) in multi‐user detection under an impulse noise environment. The simulation results show that the iteration times of the multi‐user detector based on the proposed algorithm is less than those of genetic algorithm, differential evolution algorithm, Grey wolf optimization algorithm, salp swarm algorithm, grasshopper optimisation algorithm, and whale optimization algorithm with the lowerst BER value. Objectives: The role of lncRNAs in gallbladder cancer (GBC) remains poorly understood. In this study, we explored the function of functional intergenic repeating RNA element (FIRRE) in GBC. Materials and Methods: Whole transcriptome resequencing was performed in three pairs of GBC tissues and adjacent non-tumor tissues. lncRNA FIRRE expression was verified by real-time PCR. The function of FIRRE in GBC was evaluated by experiments in vitro and in vivo. The mechanism of FIRRE was investigated via fluorescent in situ hybridization, RNA pull-down, dual luciferase reporter assays, and RNA immunoprecipitation. Results: FIRRE level was dramatically increased in GBC tissues compared to that in the adjacent non-tumor tissues. High expression of FIRRE was closely related to clinical stage and poor prognosis in GBC patients. Moreover, FIRRE remarkably enhanced proliferation and migration, and inhibited apoptosis of GBC cells. Mechanistically, FIRRE modulated YOD1 expression by sponging miR-520a-3p, thus contributing to the development of GBC. Conclusion: Our data revealed that FIRRE might act as a novel mediator in GBC progression by sponging miR-520a-3p and regulating YOD1. Buried power rail (BPR) is a key scaling booster for CMOS extension beyond the 5-nm node. This work demonstrates, for the first time, the integration of tungsten (W) BPR lines with Si finFETs. BPR technology requires insertion of metal in the front-end-of-line (FEOL) stack. This poses risks of stack deformation and device degradation due to metal-induced stress and contamination. To assess the stack deformation, we demonstrate W-BPR lines which can withstand source/drain activation anneal at 1000 °C, 1.5 s, without adversely impacting the stack morphology. To address the contamination risk, we demonstrate a BPR process module with controlled W recess and void-free dielectric plug formation which keeps the W-line fully encapsulated during downstream FEOL processing. Suitable choice of BPR metal such as W with high melting point which does not diffuse into dielectrics also minimizes the risk of contamination. To assess the device degradation, simulations are carried out showing negligible stress transfer from BPR to the channel. This is experimentally validated when no systematic difference in the dc characteristics of CMOS without BPR versus those in close proximity to floating W-BPR lines is observed. Additionally, the resistance of the recessed W-BPR line is measured ~120~Ω/μm for critical dimension (CD) ~32 nm and height ~122 nm. The recessed W-BPR interface with Ru 3-nm TiN liner via contact can withstand more than 1000 h of electromigration (EM) stress at 6.6 MA/cm2 and 330 °C, making Ru a candidate for via metallization to achieve low resistance contact strategy to BPR. Control parameters play a key role in a chaotic system, where they directly determine its chaotic performance. In this brief, we propose a novel parameter-selection-based chaotic system (PSCS), where a new sequence of control parameters is generated using Kolmogorov entropy (KE). KE measures the chaotic behaviors of a chaotic system, and the positive values indicate that the system exhibits chaotic characteristics. Hence, the new sequence is formed by the parameters that yield positive KE values, which always maintain the chaotic behaviors in each iteration. Coupling the obtained sequence into a basic chaotic map, PSCS achieves a simple structure and lower computation cost. In the face of a complex observation environment, the solution of the reference station of the ambiguity of network real-time kinematic (RTK) will be affected. The joint solution of multiple systems makes the ambiguity dimension increase steeply, which makes it difficult to estimate all the ambiguity. In addition, when receiving satellite observation signals in the environment with many occlusions, the received satellite observation values are prone to gross errors, resulting in obvious deviations in the solution. In this paper, a new network RTK fixation algorithm for partial ambiguity among the reference stations is proposed. It first estimates the floating-point ambiguity using the robust extended Kalman filtering (EKF) technique based on mean estimation, then finds the optimal ambiguity subset by the optimized partial ambiguity solving method. Finally, fixing the floating-point solution by the least-squares ambiguity decorrelation adjustment (LAMBDA) algorithm and the joint test of ratio (R-ratio) and bootstrapping success rate index solver. The experimental results indicate that the new method can significantly improve the fixation rate of ambiguity among network RTK reference stations and thus effectively improve the reliability of positioning results. Eight populations of clover cyst nematode, Heterodera trifolii, collected from Arkansas, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, USA and from Australia, were compared for host preference and genomic differences. Reproduction of each population on curly dock (Rumex crispus L.), mixed carnation cv. Chaubaud (Dianthus caryophyllus L.) and 14 cultivars of carnation were evaluated according to the numbers of females produced in glasshouse tests. On curly dock, five populations (1 to 5) of H. trifolii consistently reproduced abundantly, while the other three populations (6 to 8) consistently produced significantly fewer females. On cv. Chaubaud, reproduction by each population varied from test to test, and no apparent population groups could be identified. However, on 14 cultivars of carnation, populations 1 to 5 and 6 to 8 could be separated into two distinct groups on six of the cultivars (Blueboy, Peach Majestic, Tasman, Pallas, IMP White Sim and Dart) on which populations 1 to 5 did not reproduce but populations 6 to 8 did. Populations 1 to 5 apparently had more affinity for curly dock than for these six carnation cultivars, which separated these five from populations 6 to 8. DNA analysis with amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) consistently revealed that populations 1 to 5 were similar and populations 6 to 8 were similar. These two groups always showed distinctly different AFLP patterns when multiple selective primer pairs were used. These results indicated that populations 1 to 5 and 6 to 8 represent two putative host races in clover cyst nematode that can be separated either by host preference test or by AFLP analysis. A novel design concept for a Shack-Hartmann sensor is presented. A liquid-filled microlens array is used to replace the commonly used microlens array with fixed focal length in a conventional type. The focal length tunabilty associated with this design can provide the device with the advantage that its performance can be flexibly chosen between a large dynamic range and a high sensitivity preferred region. At the same time, it is also possible to possess both of these characteristics simultaneously with a particular procedure. This feature allows the device to be operated in different applications. A lamellar grating based Fourier transform micro-spectrometer is presented in this paper in which an electromagnetic actuator is used to drive the mobile facets of the lamellar grating to move bi-directionally. This configuration allows double-sided interferograms to be recorded, thus avoiding problems associated with zero optical path difference (OPD) identification and at the same time satisfying the requirements for large OPD scans. Based on the experimental results, a large deflection of ±62.5 µm is achieved when the electromagnetic microactuator is driven by a current of ±129 mA. To demonstrate the system performance, the spectrum of the combined light beam of a He-Ne laser and a diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) laser was measured. The two different wavelength components introduced were distinguished with a full width at half maximum (FWHM) spectral resolution around 3.8 nm at 632.8 nm and 3.44 nm at 532 nm. Lipid metabolism plays an important role in the growth and development of tumors. However, the role of lipid metabolism in gallbladder cancer (GBC) has not been clearly clarified. Here, we demonstrated that fatty acid synthase (FASN), a key enzyme in de novo fatty acid biosynthesis, had upregulated expression in GBC samples both at protein and mRNA levels. Analysis of clinical data indicated the association between elevated FASN expression and poorer histology grades. Furthermore, FASN activity impairment through FASN knockdown or treatment with orlistat resulted in the inhibition of cell proliferation and migration, as well as increased sensitivity to gemcitabine. Both FASN knockdown and orlistat treatment induced cell apoptosis. Mechanistically, impairment of FASN activity suppressed the activation of the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway, which led to increased cell apoptosis and sensitivity to gemcitabine. These findings were also validated through nude mouse xenograft models, thus highlighting the potential of targeting FASN as a clinical treatment strategy. Collectively, the present study underscores the crucial role of FASN in the progression of gallbladder cancer via the PI3K/AKT pathway.

Gallbladder cancer (GBC) is a highly aggressive malignancy, which poses significant challenges for timely diagnosis, resulting in a dismal prognosis. Chemotherapy serves as a primary treatment option in cases where surgery is not feasible. However, the emergence of chemoresistance poses a significant challenge to the effectiveness of chemotherapy, ultimately resulting in a poor prognosis. Despite extensive research on mechanisms of chemotherapeutic resistance in oncology, the underlying mechanisms of chemoresistance in GBC remain poorly understood. In this review, we present the findings from the last decade on the molecular mechanisms of chemotherapeutic resistance in GBC. We hope that these insights may provide novel therapeutic and experimental targets for further investigations into this lethal disease.

Marfan syndrome (MFS) is an autosomal dominant connective tissue disease that affects multiple systems such as the ocular, skeletal, and cardiovascular systems. This disease is relatively rare and has no effective treatment except for symptomatic treatment. As a result, early detection, early intervention, and preventing the occurrence of adverse cardiovascular outcomes are crucial to the diagnosis and treatment of MFS. The rapid development of gene sequencing technology has facilitated the detection of MFS at the genetic level, allowing a more accurate and efficient diagnosis of the disease. Biliary tract cancer (BTC), which includes cholangiocarcinoma and gallbladder carcinoma, is a rare malignancy. Due to its low incidence, drugs treating these diseases are scarce, so they can be considered orphan drugs. The main treatment choice for BTC is chemotherapy with gemcitabine or cisplatin or combined use of both, but patients fail to significantly benefit from established chemotherapy. Advancements in immunotherapy and targeted therapy will shed light on ways to improve clinical outcomes for patients with BTC. In conjunction, more new drugs will come onto the market. Gallbladder carcinoma (GBC) is one of the most common malignant tumors in the biliary system, ranking sixth among gastrointestinal malignancies. In addition, the incidence of GBC has recently increased in China. GBC metastasizes early and invades adjacent organs such as the liver, making patients with GBC ineligible for radical surgery and giving them a poor prognosis. What is more, GBC is more inclined to develop chemo-resistance, which requires new strategies for clinical intervention. Cancer immunotherapy has made great advances over the past few years, with improved clinical efficacy against multiple malignancies, including GBC. This review summarizes the immunological characteristics of GBC as well as current advances in immunotherapies for GBC in order to provide new insights into future treatment and prevention of GBC.

Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is the most common pathologic subgroup of lung cancer. The role of basic leucine zipper and W2 domains 2 (BZW2) in tumorigenesis has been investigated, while the functions and molecular mechanisms of BZW2 in LUAD remain undetermined. Our study aimed to investigate the effect of BZW2 in LUAD tumorigenesis and prognostic prediction. LUAD patients who underwent complete resection with tumor available for histologic evaluation were collected, and immunohistochemistry (IHC) was performed and scored for intensity of BZW2 expression. Overall survival (OS) and disease free survival (DFS) were estimated and compared between groups. Hazard ratios (HRs) for death were estimated using univariable and multivariable Cox proportional hazards models. BZW2 was considerably raised in the archival tissue samples from LUAD patients relative to those in healthy controls. High BZW2 expression was associated with unfavorable OS and DFS in LUAD patients. Coincidently, the up-regulated BZW2 was related to tumorigenesis, including tumor size, stage, and lymphatic invasion. In addition, we also found a positive correlation between BZW2 and EIF5 expression. Background: Many studies have shown that cinobufagin has antitumor effects against many cancers. The aim of this study was to assess the effects of cinobufagin on cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) cells., Methods: Colony formation assay, cell-counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay, and tumor xenograft experiments were applied to investigate the function of cinobufagin on human CCA cells, in vitro and in vivo . Flow cytometric analysis was performed to validate the effects of cinobufagin on cell apoptosis. Quantitative real-time reverse transcription PCR (qRT-PCR) and Western blot assays were performed to evaluate expression levels of related genes., Results: This study found that cinobufagin inhibited proliferation in both QBC939 and RBE cells. Flow cytometric analysis indicated that rate of apoptosis was significantly increased when treated with cinobufagin. Regarding mechanism analysis, cinobufagin was found to dramatically inactivate Notch signaling pathways. BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to determine the need for supportive care among women suffering from breast cancer in China and to identify its potential determinants to inform the development of effective and efficient healthcare services across different settings. MATERIAL AND METHODS In a tertiary-care hospital in Weifang, China, between July 2015 and January 2016, all women attending the Breast Cancer Clinic for regular physical examinations after treatment for breast cancer were consecutively recruited. The 34-item Supportive Care Needs Survey tool (Chinese version) (SCNS-SF34-C) was used to assess the unmet needs among participants. RESULTS Among 264 recruited patients, based on at least single-item endorsement, 60.2% had moderate to high level of need for supportive care, while only 13.3% expressed no need. Lack of information regarding health systems was the most common domain with moderate to high unmet needs, more so among rural patients (8 vs. 5 out of 10). In each information-related domain, huge unmet need was observed among all patients irrespective of urban or rural residence. Both overall and individual information-related domain-specific unmet needs were significantly higher among rural patients as opposed to their urban counterparts. Multiple regression analyses revealed a significant rural-urban variation of unmet needs. Moreover, education and post-diagnosis time duration were negatively associated with unmet needs while stage of cancer was positively associated with these unmet needs. CONCLUSIONS There is a huge burden of unmet needs for information on the healthcare system among breast cancer survivors in China. Rural residence, less education, advanced stage of cancer, and shorter duration since diagnosis were the identified determinants requiring targeted intervention.

Background: The aim of this study is to summarize and quantify the current evidence on the therapeutic efficacy of laparoscopic radical nephrectomy (LRN) compared with open radical nephrectomy (ORN) in patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) in a meta-analysis., Methods: Data were collected by searching Pubmed, Embase, Web of Science, and ScienceDirect for reports published up to September 26, 2016. Studies that reported data on comparisons of therapeutic efficacy of LRN and ORN were included. The fixed-effects model was used in this meta-analysis if there was no evidence of heterogeneity; otherwise, the random-effects model was used., Results: Thirty-seven articles were included in the meta-analysis. The meta-analysis showed that the overall mortality was significantly lower in the LRN group than that in the ORN group (odds ratio [OR] =0.77, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.62-0.95). However, there was no statistically significant difference in cancer-specific mortality (OR=0.77, 95% CI: 0.55-1.07), local tumor recurrence (OR=0.86, 95% CI: 0.65-1.14), and intraoperative complications (OR=1.27, 95% CI: 0.83-1.94). The risk of postoperative complications was significantly lower in the LRN group (OR=0.71, 95% CI: 0.65-0.78). In addition, LRN has been shown to offer superior perioperative results to ORN, including shorter hospital stay days, time to start oral intake, and convalescence time, and less estimated blood loss, blood transfusion rate, and anesthetic consumption., Conclusion: LRN was associated with better surgical outcomes as assessed by overall mortality and postoperative complications compared with ORN. A growing number of studies indicated that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) determine some cellular processes in cancer, such as proliferation, metastasis and differentiation. Urothelial carcinoma associated 1 (UCA1), an lncRNA, had been reported for its overexpression and oncogenic effect on various human cancers. In this study, we found that UCA1 was significantly overexpressed in gallbladder cancer (GBC) and positively correlated with tumor size, lymph node metastasis, TNM stage and short survival time. Moreover, UCA1 promoted GBC cell proliferation and metastasis in vitro and tumor growth in vivo. Mechanically, we identified that UCA1 promoted GBC progression through recruiting enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) to the promoter of p21 and E-cadherin, and epigenetically suppressing their transcript.

Gallbladder cancer has poor prognosis and limited therapeutic options. Arctigenin, a representative dibenzylbutyrolactone lignan, occurs in a variety of plants. However, the molecular mechanisms involved in the antitumor effect of arctigenin on gallbladder cancer have not been fully elucidated. The expression levels of epidermal growth factor receptor were examined in 100 matched pairs of gallbladder cancer tissues. A positive correlation between high epidermal growth factor receptor expression levels and poor prognosis was observed in gallbladder cancer tissues. Pharmacological inhibition or inhibition via RNA interference of epidermal growth factor receptor induced cellular senescence in gallbladder cancer cells. The antitumor effect of arctigenin on gallbladder cancer cells was primarily achieved by inducing cellular senescence. In gallbladder cancer cells treated with arctigenin, the expression level of epidermal growth factor receptor significantly decreased. The analysis of the activity of the kinases downstream of epidermal growth factor receptor revealed that the RAF-MEK-ERK signaling pathway was significantly inhibited. Furthermore, the cellular senescence induced by arctigenin could be reverted by pcDNA-epidermal growth factor receptor. Arctigenin also potently inhibited the growth of tumor xenografts, which was accompanied by the downregulation of epidermal growth factor receptor and induction of senescence. This study demonstrates arctigenin could induce cellular senescence in gallbladder cancer through the modulation of epidermal growth factor receptor pathway. These data identify epidermal growth factor receptor as a key regulator in arctigenin-induced gallbladder cancer senescence.

Long non-coding RNA LINC00152 had been reported as an oncogene in gastric and hepatocellular cancer. In this study, we show that LINC00152 is overexpressed in gallbladder cancer (GBC) tissue samples and cell lines. The high LINC00152 levels correlated negatively with the overall survival time in GBC patients. Functionally, LINC00152 dramatically promoted cell migration, invasion and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) progression in vitro. In vivo, LINC00152 overexpression significantly promoted tumour peritoneal spreading and metastasis. Mechanistic analyses indicated that LINC00152 functions as a molecular sponge for miR-138, which directly suppresses the expression of hypoxia inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α). We revealed that miR-138 is a suppressor of GBC cell metastasis and EMT progression, and a similar phenomenon was observed in HIF-1α knockdown NOZ cells. Through binding to miR-138, LINC00152 has an oncogenic effect on GBC. Purpose: To explore the expression of Yes-associated protein (YAP) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients, and assess its prognostic value to recurrence of HCC after liver transplantation (LT)., Methods: Collected data of 105 consecutive patients undergoing LT for HCC were analyzed retrospectively. The immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of YAP, Mst1, Lats1/2, pYAP, pLats1/2 and pMst1/2 in tumor tissues. Contingency table and χ(2)-test were used to investigate the correlation between expression of YAP, Mst1, Lats1/2 and clinical characteristics. Univariate survival analysis and Multivariate Cox regression analysis were also performed to analyze the correlation of clinical and pathological factors with tumor recurrence after LT. The Kaplan-Meier method and log-rank test were used to analyze HCC-specific disease-free survival (DFS) rate., Results: Forty patients fulfilled Milan criteria with 1-, 2-, 3- and 5-years DFS of 86.7, 84.6, 84, 84%, respectively. The positive rates of YAP, Lats1/2, Mst1 in HCC were 51.4, 45.7, 64.8%, respectively. YAP expression in HCC tumors was significantly associated with tumor size (p = 0.041), venous infiltration (p = 0.002), AJCC tumor stage (p = 0.027). Lats1/2 expression was significantly associated with tumor size (p = 0.001) and AJCC tumor stage (p = 0.019). Mst1 expression was also significantly associated with tumor size (p = 0.042). HCC-specific DFS was significantly longer for patients with YAP negative expression compared with patients with YAP positive expression (1-, 2-, 3- and 5-years DFS of 71.7, 65.3, 65.3, 65.3 vs. 42.5, 36.6, 32.5, 30.4%, respectively, log-rank = 12.89, p < 0.001). Multivariate Cox regression analysis indicated that YAP expression (HR = 2.011, p = 0.020) in HCC was an independent prognostic factor for HCC-specific DFS after liver transplantation., Conclusions: YAP is an independent prognostic marker for tumor recurrence for HCC patients after liver transplantation., (© 2015 S.
