Flexible pavement is prone to various forms of distress, much like other structures. Geotextile reinforcement is one of the Methods used to enhance the performance of pavements to reduce the rate of deterioration. This paper shows the results of using geotextile as reinforcement for the pavement layer subjected to dynamic load. Two dynamic loads (0.5, and 0.75) ton are used with three frequencies (0.25, 1.5, and 2) Hz. The non-woven geotextile layer is placed on top of the Subgrade layer of sandy soil. The results show that the stress values decrease by (17.8%), (80.3%), and (71.7%) for Frequency values of (0.25, 1.5, and 2) Hz respectively for the dynamic load of 0.5 ton whereas the rate of stress decrease Is (42.8%), (49.3%), and (48.5%) for frequency values of (0.25, 1.5 and 2) Hz respectively for the dynamic load of 0.75 Ton. The displacement decreased by (40%), (66.9%), and (33.2%) for frequency values of (0.25, 1.5, and 2) Hz Respectively for the dynamic load of 0.5 ton whereas the rate of displacement decrease is (57.2%), (41.3%), and (53.6%) For frequency values of (0.25, 1.5 and 2) Hz respectively for the dynamic load of 0.75 ton. It is concluded that the use of Geotextile reinforcement in asphalt pavement layers is highly recommended because of the increase and enhancement in Pavement performance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
