This work will first focus on the various technical aspects of the design of photorealistic 3D renderings of architectural objects. Special attention will be given to the role of new technologies, such as photogrammetry or texture mapping, in the preservation and enhancement of the architectural heritage. The problem of restoring the visual appearance of 3D architectural heritage objects through texture mapping will also be addressed. Hence, an algorithm that achieve a piecewise texture mapping by minimizing length distortion based on artificial neural networks (ANN) and the theory of elasticity was presented. To begin, a surface triangulation S (comprising triangular facets and a boundary) is created. The obtained mesh is then partitioned into disjoint pieces, with each interior vertex belonging to a single piece. Each subsurface, corresponding to one of the obtained pieces, is then mapped independently from the others by imposing local length-preservation constraints and barycentric coordinates of the interior mesh vertices. The proposed method aims to achieve uniform and seamless texturing, allowing for photorealistic representation of 3D models of heritage buildings and cities. This work provides an effective mathematical framework to obtain geometrically precise texture generating process on surfaces of arbitrary architectural topology.

Introduction: The association of a frontal extra dural hematoma and an intra orbital hematoma is very rare, all the cases reported in the literature are case reports to our knowledge. Observation: We report the case of an 18-year-old patient who suffered a head injury fifteen days before his admission to our department. The examination on admission found a conscious patient presenting a frontal syndrome, a non-pulsatile right exophthalmos. The cerebral CT scan objectified a right frontal extra-dural hematoma associated with a right intra-orbital hematoma. The patient was operated on, benefiting from evacuation of the two hematomas through a fronto-orbital flap with removal of the roof of the orbit in one piece. The immediate post-operative outcome was uneventfull. Conclusion: The association of a frontal extra-dural hematoma and an intra-orbital hematoma is rare and early management allows good results.

Background: Depressed skull fractures constitute a common trauma condition in neurosurgery. Their surgical aspects and outcome remain less studied at Niamey. Objective: To study the surgical aspects and describe the outcome of surgical depressed skull fractures at Niamey National Hospital in Niger republic. Method: This is a three years retro and prospective study from January 1st, 2020 to December 31st, 2022 run at National Hospital of Niamey in Niger republic. Results: A total of 233 patients were included of which, 202 men (86.7 %) and 31 females (13,3%) with a sex-ratio of 6.51. Road traffic accident was the common cause (n = 141; 60.5 %) followed by assault (n = 43; 18.5 %) and fall (n = 27; 11.6 %). Patients from urban area were predominant (n = 161; 69.1 %). Head CT Scan constituted the most common diagnosis tool. Considering the type of depressed fractures, greenstick depressed fractures were the most frequent (n = 139; 59.7 %) followed by comminuted ones (n = 70; 30 %). Ping-pond fractures accounted for 24 cases (10.3 %) and were only seen in children. About the type of associated injury, cranio-cerebral wound (n = 73; 31,3%), extradural hematoma (n = 31; 13.3 %), and cerebral contusion (n = 10; 4.3 %) were commonly seen. Most of the patients had mild head trauma (n = 194; 83.3 %). Craniotomy with bone fragment replacement was commonly performed (n = 102; 43.8 %) followed by simple fracture elevation in 42.5 % (n = 99;). Most of the patients experienced an uneventful outcome (n = 227; 97.4 %). The death rate was very low (0.9 %; n = 2). Conclusion: Depressed skull fractures constitute a common traumatic neurosurgical pathologies met at Niamey National Hospital. CT Scan constitutes the main diagnosis tool. Its treatment is often surgical.

Abstract Groundwater quality assessment is crucial for the sustainable management of water resources in arid regions, where groundwater is the primary source of water supply and increasing demand raises concerns. The study area in Southwest Algeria relies heavily on groundwater as a source of water supply, and the increasing demand for freshwater raises concerns about the quality of groundwater. To assess the hydrochemical characteristics and water quality of groundwater in the Ain Sefra region, multivariate statistical methods, geochemical modeling and water quality indices were employed. The study revealed that the groundwater samples could be classified into four water groups using hierarchical cluster analysis Q mode (HCA), namely Ca–Mg–HCO3, Ca–Mg–Cl–SO4, Ca–SO4 and Na–Cl. Factor analysis was used to identify the main factors controlling the study area’s hydrochemical processes. The results indicated that water–rock interaction, reverse ion exchange and anthropogenic pollution were the main hydrochemical processes affecting groundwater chemistry. The water quality index indicated that the groundwater was suitable for human consumption, with only 2.32% of the samples being unsuitable. Additionally, the groundwater was suitable for agricultural use, but salinity control was necessary. The saturation index values showed that the groundwater was supersaturated with aragonite, calcite, dolomite, anhydrite and gypsum, and undersaturated with halite. Ca-smectite, Mg-smectite and kaolinite were identified as the primary processes controlling the chemical composition of groundwater. The application of multivariate statistical methods, geochemical modeling and water quality indices provided a comprehensive understanding of the hydrochemical characteristics and water quality of groundwater in the Ain Sefra region. The findings of the study can serve as a useful basis for future studies on groundwater quality assessment in the region.

One of the materials discussed in operations research is linear programming, which also discusses models of transportation. The assignment problem can be viewed as a special case of the transportation model. One method that is often used to solve assignment problems is the Hungarian method. Over time, there have also been more and more alternative methods to streamline processing time in solving assignment problems, one of which is the new alternate method. The purpose of this research is to form an optimal scheduling with minimum processing time. The data used in this study is secondary data obtained from CV Bagus Classic. The data consists of the number of workers, type of work, and the time needed to complete the work by each worker. As a result of this research, it was found that the minimum assignment time was achieved when using the Hungarian method compared to using the new alternate method or before using both methods.

Intervention in ancient and historical fabrics is currently at the heart of many social, political and economic issues. The measures and actions to be taken, the definition of priorities, and the formulation of socio-urban issues pose enormous obstacles for choosing an action strategy based on the different actors. Thus, the objective of this work is to define an action strategy for the development of the historic center of Annaba which is classified as a safeguarded sector. To do so, we will try to analyze this urban entity according to its historical, socio-spatial and legacy logics in order to understand its realities and its potentialities by relying on a participative approach. This method of analysis, using a series of tools, aims to ensure the necessary conditions for the realization of urban operations, how it will be applied in this site and what it will guarantee for the development process.

The aim of this work is to numerically and theoretically model thermosolute natural convection in porous, isotropic and saturated media filled with Casson nanofluids (aluminum nanoparticles) under the influence of a magnetic field. Calculations were performed for various parameters relevant to our model, namely Casson fluid parameters (between 0.1 and 1), thermal Rayleigh number (between 10 and 100000), Geometric aspect ratio number (between 1 and 3),Buoyancy ratio number (between 1 and 10), Soret and Dufour numbers (between 0.2 and 1.2), conductivity ratios (between 1 and 3) and Hartmann numbers (between 0 and 100). The horizontal walls of the enclosure maintain uniform temperature and concentration, while the side walls are rigid, watertight, and insulated. Casson nanofluid flow occurs in porous layers and is described by the extended Darcy law of Brinkman-Forchheimer. The finite volume method was used to spatially discretize the obtained system of equations. Therefore, we investigated the effect of different parameters on the heat transfer rate and concentration. we observe that heat and mass transfer increases with increasing Casson fluid parameter; this increase is significant for the case of β between 0.1 and 0.4. And it also increases with the increase in the number of thermal conductivity ratios, the number of thrust ratios and with the increase in the thermal Rayleigh number. The latter remain unchanged when the thermal Rayleigh number is below the threshold . In the Opposite, we notice an uneven decrease in the thermosolutal transfer with the increase in the Hartmann Soret and Dufour numbers.

This study evaluates the impact of sub-daily bias correction of gridded rainfall products (RPs) on the estimation rainfall erosivity in Burkina Faso (West African Sahel). Selected RPs, offering half-hourly to hourly rainfall, are assessed against 10 synoptic stations over the period 2001–2020 to appraise their accuracy. The optimal product (the integrated multi-satellite retrievals for GPM, IMERG) is further used as a reference for bias correction, to adjust the rainfall distribution in the remaining RPs. RPs-derived rainfall erosivity is compared to the global rainfall erosivity database (GloREDa) estimates. The findings indicate that bias correction improves the rainfall accuracy estimation for all RPs, in terms of quantitative, categorial metrics and spatial patterns. It also improved the distributions of rainfall event intensities and duration across all products, which further significantly improved the annual rainfall erosivity estimates at various timescales along with spatial patterns across the country, as compared to raw RPs. The study also highlights that bias correction is effective at aligning annual trends in rainfall with those in rainfall erosivity derived from RPs. The study therefore underscores the added value of bias correction as a practice for improving the rainfall representation in high-resolution RPs before long-term rainfall erosivity assessment, particularly in data-scarce regions vulnerable to land degradation.

In this paper, we present a learning algorithm aimed at learning states obtained from computational basis states by Clifford circuits doped with a finite number $t$ of $T$-gates. The algorithm learns an exact tomographic description of $t$-doped stabilizer states in terms of Pauli observables. This is possible because such states are countable and form a discrete set. To tackle the problem, we introduce a novel algebraic framework for $t$-doped stabilizer states, which extends beyond $T$-gates and includes doping with any kind of local non-Clifford gate. The algorithm requires resources of complexity $\operatorname{poly}(n,2^t)$ and exhibits an exponentially small probability of failure.

Anomaly detection is the process of detecting unusual or unforeseen patterns or events in data. Many factors, such as malfunctioning hardware, malevolent activities, or modifications to the data’s underlying distribution, might cause anomalies. One of the key factors in anomaly detection is balancing the trade-off between sensitivity and specificity. Balancing these trade-offs requires careful tuning of the anomaly detection algorithm and consideration of the specific domain and application. Deep learning techniques’ applications, such as LSTMs (long short-term memory algorithms), which are autoencoders for detecting an anomaly, have garnered increasing attention in recent years. The main goal of this work was to develop an anomaly detection solution for an electrical machine using an LSTM-autoencoder deep learning model. The work focused on detecting anomalies in an electrical motor’s variation vibrations in three axes: axial (X), radial (Y), and tangential (Z), which are indicative of potential faults or failures. The presented model is a combination of the two architectures; LSTM layers were added to the autoencoder in order to leverage the LSTM capacity for handling large amounts of temporal data. To prove the LSTM efficiency, we will create a regular autoencoder model using the Python programming language and the TensorFlow machine learning framework, and compare its performance with our main LSTM-based autoencoder model. The two models will be trained on the same database, and evaluated on three primary points: training time, loss function, and MSE anomalies. Based on the obtained results, it is clear that the LSTM-autoencoder shows significantly smaller loss values and MSE anomalies compared to the regular autoencoder. On the other hand, the regular autoencoder performs better than the LSTM, comparing the training time. It appears then, that the LSTM-autoencoder presents a superior performance although it was slower than the standard autoencoder due to the complexity of the added LSTM layers.

Marine and coastal biodiversity is crucial to the planet’s functioning and offers ecosystem services that guarantee the health, wealth, and well-being of the entire humanity. This is why, evaluating the current body of research on coral reefs is essential for understanding the unprecedented growth of this field, which covers many topics including climate change, biotic interactions, bioresources, future bioprospecting, and biodiversity in general. Such an evaluation requires both descriptive summaries and co-citation analyses to understand the expansive nature of this particular research and identify research gaps. Given the importance of the topic and the fact that it is insufficiently addressed, this study fills in a gap regarding coral reefs studies. We analyzed coral reef research published in the Web of Science Core Collection database between 1970 and 2021, using the CiteSpace software. This gave a total of 20,362 records, focusing on variables including the list of contributors (author, affiliation, and country), total publications over time, dual map overlay, co-citation analysis (co-cited author and documents), cluster networks, and popular keywords and their burstness. We found that coral reef publications increased over time, with coastal countries (the USA, Australia, and Japan) being among the highest contributors. Researchers from Australia, New Zealand, and the USA are the top producers of coral reef research worldwide. Unsurprisingly, the journal Coral Reefs was the most productive journal. Interestingly, we found that keywords such as “great barrier reef,” “climate change,” and “predation” were among the top cited and most influential in coral reef science. To our knowledge, this is the first study to identify trends in coral reef research using scientometric analyses based on the CiteSpace software.

In Burkina Faso, human activities around water points in rural areas affect groundwater resources, which become unfit for consumption. Nearly 33.5% of boreholes are subject to point source pollution. The assessment of the evolution of such pollution should be monitored to assess groundwater quality. In addition, withdrawals for irrigation alone are estimated at 85%, i.e. 46% of the water demand, heightening the deterioration in quality while creating depression zones further leading to an increase in recharge. It is therefore critical to understand the evolution and fate of the transfer of pollutants in such environments. In this study, we aimed to model the transfer of pollutant and predict the future state of pollution using the MT3D-USGS Groundwater Solute Transport Simulator code through the Groundwater Modelling Software (GMS) over the period 2012–2062 (50 years). A mathematical model is further developed through inferential statistics and used as a surrogate model for comparison. The results showed that deterioration in water quality was more attributable to withdrawals, especially for Cyanide (Cn) and Arsenic (As). A rather slow degradation is reported for Lead (Pb), which extends over 22 km, and Fluoride (F), which extends from 4 to 10 km due to localized recharge. A faster degradation for Cn over a distance of 2–16 km and as from 3 to 11 km is also observed because of the geological setting of the subsoil. These results might assist decision-makers for the quantitative and qualitative management of groundwater resources, and the management of the basement aquifer in the area through the establishment of protection zones.

Alors que ces préparations ont tendance à disparaitre. L’objectif de notre étude était d’évaluer la problématique de la réalisation des préparations dans les officines de pharmacie du district de Bamako. Méthodologie : Nous avons réalisé une étude descriptive transversale du janvier 2022 à janvier 2023. Des données ont été collectées à l’aide de questionnaires auprès de 145 pharmacies de la ville de Bamako. Les données collectées ont été décrite à l’aide de moyenne pour les variables quantitatives et de fréquence pour les variables qualitatives. Les analyses statistiques ont été réalisées à l’aide de logiciel SPSS version 20. Résultats : Le sexe masculin des pharmaciens était le plus représenté avec 59,30%. Le préparatoire n’existait pas dans 64% des officines, et 60% de l’existants n’étaient pas fonctionnels. Aucun support technique n’était disponible dans 44,10% des pharmacies. L’absence de préparateurs en pharmacie était observable dans 70% des pharmacies. La majorité des pharmaciens (64,83%) ne connaissait pas de fournisseurs de matières premières, parmi les pharmaciens qui en connaissaient, 86,03% ne parvenaient pas à avoir les matières premières avec les fournisseurs pour effectuer leurs préparations officinale et magistrale. Conclusion : cette étude a démontré que les officines de pharmacie sont confrontées à des problèmes, d’approvisionnement des matières premières, de déficit des préparateurs en pharmacie, d’obtention du support technique etc, pour réaliser des préparations à l’officine.

Background: Stab wounds are rare, accounting for around 25 % of all spinal cord injuries. They are the most frequent cause of penetrating wounds and occur mainly after an assault or suicide attempt. We report two cases of penetrating stab wounds of the dorsal spine. Case description: A 35-year-old male patient with no known pathological history was admitted for open trauma to the dorsal spine following the stabbing. The diagnosis of a penetrating wound of the dorsal spine responsible for Brown Sequard syndrome was evoked. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed an intradural hematoma and raised suspicion of an anterior spinal cord contusion opposite D6. The patient underwent a laminectomy, which revealed an anterior intradural hematoma. The postoperative course was marked by full motor recovery.A 31-year-old male patient with no known pathological history was admitted with paraplegia following open trauma to the dorsal and lumbar spine. The diagnosis of a penetrating wound of the dorsal and lumbar spine responsible for terminal cone syndrome was evoked. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) suggested a dural hematoma or breach at D10, and spinal cord contusion at L2. The patient underwent laminectomy, with a dural tear of approximately and a spinal cord contusion on the lateral side of the cord at L1 and L2. Postoperative recovery was marked by complete sensory recovery, with no motor recovery. Conclusion: Stab wounds are rare, predominating dorsal spine injuries. MRI is the examination of choice. The prognosis depends on the nature and extent of the injury.

It is evident that in Nigeria inflation and unemployment are growing simultaneously and pose a serious question in terms of the validity of the Phillips curve in Nigeria. This study investigates the relationships that exist with respect to inflation and unemployment in Nigeria using data from the CBN statistical bulletin (2020) from 1981 to 2020. The ARDL model (autoregressive distributed lag) was employed in the study. The study revealed an inverse and significant link between inflation and unemployment only in the short run, while a positive, as well as significant relationship, was found that connects inflation and output in Nigeria also in the short run. We, therefore, recommend the need for government to always consider unemployment in formulating policies aimed at achieving price stability. We also recommend that the government adopts labour-intensive techniques of production to reduce costs and, by extension, reduce the prices of goods and services.

In this study, the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model is used to assess changes in surface runoff between the baseline (1995–2014) and future (2031–2050) periods in the Tougou watershed $(37~\mathrm{km}^{2})$ in Burkina Faso. The study uses a combination of land use maps (for current and future periods) and a bias-corrected ensemble of 9 CMIP6 climate models, under two warming scenarios. An increase in rainfall (13.7% to 18.8%) is projected, which is the major contributor to the increase in surface runoff (24.2% to 34.3%). The land use change narrative (i.e. conversion of bare areas to croplands) is expected to decrease in surface runoff, albeit minor in comparison to the effect of future climate change. Similar findings are observed for annual maximum surface runoff. This study sheds light on the need to consider simultaneously future climate and land use in framing water management policies.

Abstract Magic states are the resource that allows quantum computers to attain an advantage over classical computers. This resource consists in the deviation from a property called stabilizerness which in turn implies that stabilizer circuits can be efficiently simulated on a classical computer. Without magic, no quantum computer can do anything that a classical computer cannot do. Given the importance of magic for quantum computation, it would be useful to have a method for measuring the amount of magic in a quantum state. In this work, we propose and experimentally demonstrate a protocol for measuring magic based on randomized measurements. Our experiments are carried out on two IBM Quantum Falcon processors. This protocol can provide a characterization of the effectiveness of a quantum hardware in producing states that cannot be effectively simulated on a classical computer. We show how from these measurements one can construct realistic noise models affecting the hardware.

Using a generalized translation operator, we intend to establish generalizations of the Titchmarsh theorem ( [14], theorem 84) for the first Hankel-Clifford transform for certain classes of functions in the space 𝐿(^𝑝 _𝜇) ((0, + ∞)), where 1 < 𝑝 ⩽ 2.

Kebutuhan daya listrik setiap konsumen berbeda-beda tergantung pada banyaknya pemakaian. Namun sering kali pemakaian daya pada sebuah bangunan tidak terkontrol, sehingga terkadang terjadi beban lebih (overload) sehingga arus yang mengalir juga akan semakin besar. Pada Penelitian ini dibuat sistem monitoring tegangan, arus, frekuensi dan daya menggunakan teknologi android yang dikoneksikan dengan mikrokontroler serta dapat memutuskan aliran listrik yang dapat diakses melalui aplikasi Android. Prosedur perancangan merupakan tahapan untuk merancang rangkaian yang dibutuhkan dalam pembuatan alat monitoring. Proses perancangan dan pembuatan alat monitoring ini melalui beberapa tahap meliputi studi literatur, perancangan perangkat keras (hardware), perancangan perangkat lunak (software). Dari pengujian yang dilakukan, alat rancangan monitoring daya listrik telah bekerja sesuai dengan apa yang diinginkan. Alat ini dapat mengontrol, monitoring dan melakukan penyimpanan data pada aliran listrik yang dapat diakses melalui website/aplikasi yang terhubung melalui internet. Bahkan, keakuratan pembacaan alat ukur pada alat rancangan ini memilki perbandingan error yang kecil dengan alat ukur yang biasanya digunakan, terdapat rata-rata error pada pembacaan nilai tegangan dan arus sebesar 0,33% dan 3.06%.

L’objectif de cette étude est de présenter le corpus FRAPéOR (FRançais d’Allophones Parlé à ORléans) et de discuter de son lien avec son prédécesseur les ESLO (Enquêtes Sociolinguistiques à Orléans), dont il constitue une extension à la fois sur le plan des procédures de constitution et de la chaîne de traitement des données. FRAPéOR s’inscrit dans une double ambition: (1) compléter, dans le cadre d’une sociolinguistique urbaine, le Portrait sonore de la ville d’Orléans par ses habitants, entrepris dans ESLO 1 et ESLO2 et où le recueil globalement n’a concerné jusqu’ici que des variétés de français parlées par des francophones natifs de la ville d’Orléans; (2) servir d’observatoire pour le français langue étrangère que parlent les populations d’allophones qui vivent dans l’agglomération orléanaise. Ainsi, notre propos, ici, est de procéder à la présentation générale de ce nouveau corpus, de sa genèse, de ses spécificités, de ses objectifs et de son intérêt pour l’enseignement du FLE de manière générale et plus particulièrement pour le travail sur la prononciation en suivant une démarche verbotonale. Le projet FRAPéOR a abouti à une plateforme qui se prédestine aux formateurs et aux apprenants de FLE et qui utilise des procédés IA à la fois dans les phases de transcription et dans les phases de transferts et de remédiation.

Lactiplantibacillus plantarum OV50 is a novel strain that was isolated from Algerian olives. Prior to its use as a natural biopreservative, OV50 underwent characterization for various functions. OV50 shows no proteolytic, lipolytic, or hemolytic activity. In addition, it is non-cytotoxic to eukaryotic cells and does not exhibit acquired antibiotic resistance. OV50 was tested with Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27835, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538, Escherichia coli ATCC 8739, and Vibrio cholerae ATCC 14035 in a sardine based-medium at 37 °C and 7 °C. At 37 °C, OV50 completely inhibited the growth of these foodborne pathogens for a maximum of 6 h. At 7 °C, it suppressed their growth for a maximum of 8 days, except for S. aureus ATCC 6538, whose growth was reduced from 4 to 2 log CFU/mL. Microbiological counts, total volatile basic nitrogen (TVB-N), and peroxide values (PV) concentrations were determined in fresh sardines inoculated with OV50 and kept at 7 °C for 12 days. The inoculated sardines showed a significant reduction in TVB-N levels at D8 (34.9 mg/100 g) compared to the control (59.73 mg/100 g) and in PV concentrations at D4 (6.67 meq/kg) compared to the control (11.44 meq/kg), as well as a significant reduction in the numbers of Enterobacterales, Coliforms, Pseudomonas spp., Vibrio spp., and S. aureus At D8 and D12 compared to the control. Taken together, these results indicate that OV50 can improve the microbiological safety, freshness, and quality of sardines.

In the last few decades, several contributions have used the Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) for reinforcing slabs. However, previous studies disregarded the effect of spacing between the bands of the Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP), which appears scientifically to be of great importance for enriching the literature. The principal objective of this paper is to ascertain the experimental data and results on the strengthened concrete slabs’ behavior when changing the spacing between the CFRP bands. To meet this objective, six slabs with 600 mm length, 500 mm width, and 50 mm thickness have been utilized. To begin with, we have put to test one reference slab without strengthening while the other slabs were strengthened with CFRP strips. Secondly, the strengthened slabs have been reinforced with three CFRP bands of 50 mm wide by varying either the spacing between them among 50 mm, 100 mm, and 150 mm, or the number of the CFRP layers. This research paper casts light on several points describing the strengthened concrete slabs’ behavior. It is worth mentioning that the slab breaking load increased when the spacing between the CFRP strips was small; and the bands were distributed close to the center.
