Campylobacter jejuni (C. jejuni), a Gram-negative bacterium, belongs to microaerobic bacteria. We reported a 21-year-old male patient diagnosed with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) due to C. jejuni infection, who presented with multiple clinical manifestations of peripheral nerve injury, such as ophthalmoplegia, facial paralysis, and urinary retention during the treatment. Electromyography showed neurogenic injury and the final diagnosis was Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS). After treatment of dexamethasone combined with immunoglobulin, the patient was discharged from the hospital with partial recovery of neurological symptoms.

Background Acute kidney injury (AKI) is widespread in the intensive care unit (ICU) and affects patient prognosis. According to Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) guidelines, the absolute and relative increases of serum creatinine (Scr) are classified into the same stage. Whether the prognosis of the two types of patients is similar in the ICU remains unclear. Methods According to the absolute and relative increase of Scr, AKI stage 1 and stage 3 patients were divided into stage 1a and 1b, stage 3a and 3b groups, respectively. Their demographics, laboratory results, clinical characteristics, and outcomes were analyzed retrospectively. Results Of the 345 eligible cases, we analyzed stage 1 because stage 3a group had only one patient. Using 53 or 61.88 µmol/L as the reference Scr (Scrref), no significant differences were observed in ICU mortality (P53=0.076, P61.88=0.070) or renal replacement therapy (RRT) ratio, (P53=0.356, P61.88=0.471) between stage 1a and 1b, but stage 1b had longer ICU length of stay (LOS) than stage 1a (P53

In the title compound, [Hg(C42H38N4O2)](PF6)2·2CH3CN, the HgII cation lies on a twofold axis which is also the internal symmetry element of the complete cationic complex. The HgII cation is coordinated by two symmetry-related C(carbene) atoms [Hg—C = 2.058 (9) Å] in a nearly linear geometry, with a C—Hg—C angle of 175.8 (5)°. There are weak intermolecular C—H...F interactions in the crystal packing between an F atom of a hexafluoridophosphate anion and a –CH2– group of the bis-N-heterocyclic carbene ligand.

The title compouand {[Zn(C4H4O6)(C12H8N2)]·6H2O}n, has a linear chain structure parallel to [100] with Zn(C4H4O6)(C12H8N2) repeat units; the asymmetric unit consists of one Zn2+ cation, one l-tartrate dianion, one 1,10-phenanthroline and six free water molecules. The Zn atom is in a distorted octahedral ZnN2O4 coordination environment. The crystal structure is stabilized by O—H...O hydrogen bonds and π–π stacking of the phenanthroline units [centroid–centroid distances in the range 3.552 (2)–3.625 (2)Å] occurs between the chains. The title compound is isotypic with the Cu and Mn analogues.

The title salt, (C6H11N2)2[Cd(C7H3NO4)2], displays a discrete mononuclear structure, in which the central CdII atom is six-coordinated in a distorted octahedral coordination geometry by two N and four O atoms from two different pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylate anions in an O2,N,O6-tridentate chelation mode. The crystal packing is stabilized by N—H...O hydrogen bonds and π–π interactions [centroid–centroid distance = 3.576 (5) Å].

The title compound, [Cu2(C7H3NO4)2(C12H12N6)(H2O)2]·H2O, displays a discrete dinuclear structure, in which the central CuII atom is five-coordinated in a distorted square-based pyramidal coordination geometry and the flexible ligand 1,4-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene adopts a bis-monodentate bridging mode linking the CuII atoms. It is further assembled by O—H...O hydrogen-bond interactions involving both the coordinated and uncoordinated water molecules. The latter exhibits half-occupancy.

In the pseudo-centrosymmetric molecule of the title compound, C18H16N4, two benzimidazole fragments form the dihedral angles of 83.49 (7) and 79.37 (7)°, with the mean plane of the linking butene chain. No classical intermolecular interactions are observed. The porous crystal packing exhibits voids of 85 Å3.

The title compound, [Ru2(C13H15S)2(CO)4], is a centrosymmetric binuclear metal–carbonyl complex containing an Ru—Ru single bond [2.7511 (8) Å]. Each RuI atom is coordinated by two bridging carbonyl ligands, one terminal carbonyl ligand and one η5-cyclopentadienyl group. The complex has a trans conformation and the two cyclopentadienyl ring planes are parallel. The crystal structure involves weak C—H...O hydrogen bonds.

In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Ru2(C14H17O)2(CO)4], each RuI atom is connected to one end-on and two bridging carbonyl groups and one cyclopentadienyl ring. The two Ru atoms are connected into binuclear complexes via two bridging carbonyl groups, forming four-membered rings which are located on centres of inversion. The Ru—Ru distance of 2.7483 (11) Å corresponds to a single bond. The two carbonyl groups in these binuclear complexes are trans-oriented.

The title compound, [Zn(C8H4O4)(C5H8N2)3], has a neutral monomeric structure in which one terephthalate dianion and three 2-ethyl-1H-imidazole ligands coordinate to the ZnII ion in a distorted tetrahedral geometry. The methyl group of one of the ethyl groups is disordered over two positions with occupancies of 0.66 (2) and 0.34 (2). In the crystal structure, molecules are linked into a three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded network by intermolecular N—H...O interactions involving the uncoordinated carboxylate O atoms.

In the title compound, [Hg(C32H30N4O)](PF6)2·CH3CN, the mercury(II) ion is coordinated by two carbene C atoms [Hg—C = 2.060 (6) and 2.066 (6) Å] and one ether O atom [Hg—O = 2.561 (5) Å] in a distorted T-shaped geometry with a C—Hg—C angle of 166.3 (3)°. One hexafluoridophosphate anion is rotationally disordered between two orientations with an approximate ratio of 2:1. The crystal packing exhibits weak intermolecular C—H...F and C—H...N interactions.

BACKGROUND: In the event of a sudden shortage of medical resources, a rapid, simple, and accurate prediction model is essential for the 30-day mortality rate of patients with COVID-19. METHODS: This retrospective study compared the characteristics of the survivals and nonsurvivals of 278 patients with COVID-19. Logistic regression analysis was performed to obtain the “COVID-19 death risk score” (CDRS) model. Using the area under the receiver operating characteristic (AUROC) curve and Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness-of-fit test, discrimination and calibration were assessed. Internal validation was conducted using a regular bootstrap method. RESULTS: A total of 63 (22.66%) of 278 included patients died. The logistic regression analysis revealed that high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP; odds ratio [OR]=1.018), D-dimer (OR=1.101), and respiratory rate (RR; OR=1.185) were independently associated with 30-day mortality. CDRS was calculated as follows: CDRS=−10.245+(0.022×hsCRP)+(0.172×Ddimer)+( 0.203×RR). CDRS had the same predictive effect as the sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA) and “confusion, uremia, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and age over 65 years” (CURB-65) scores, with AUROCs of 0.984 for CDRS, 0.975 for SOFA, and 0.971 for CURB-65, respectively. And CDRS showed good calibration. The AUROC through internal validations was 0.980 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.965–0.995). Regarding the clinical value, the decision curve analysis of CDRS showed a net value similar to that of CURB-65 in this cohort. CONCLUSION: CDRS is a novel, efficient and accurate prediction model for the early identification of COVID-19 patients with poor outcomes. Abstract  The synthesis of the new ligand, (C5Me4 i Bu)H was described and its reaction with Fe(CO)5 to prepare (C5Me4 i Bu)2Fe2(CO)4 was presented. The structure of complex was characterized by IR, 1H NMR, elemental analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction. It confirms the complex is a dimer with bridging and terminal CO groups. The Fe–Fe bond distance is 2.5508(9) Å. (C5Me4 i Bu)2Fe2(CO)4 belongs to triclinic: space group P ī, with a = 8.5468(17) Å, b = 8.8997(18) Å, c = 9.4044(19) Å, α = 89.52(3)°, β = 74.11(3)°, γ = 86.42(3)°, V = 686.6(2) Å3, Z = 2, Dc = 1.399 g cm−3, μ (MoKα) = 1.090 mm−1, F(000) = 306, and final R 1 = 0.0324, wR 2 = 0.0852 for observed reflections 2,396 (I > 2σ(I)). In the title compound, [Er2(C4H4O4)3(H2O)2] n, the asymmetric unit consists of two ErIII cations, three succinate anions and two coordinated water mol­ecules. Both ErIII ions are in a tricapped trigonal–prismatic coordination environment. The Er atoms are bridged into a three-dimensional framework by succinate anions, which exhibit anti and gauche conformations with different coordination modes. The title compound, [Cu(C4H2O4)(C12H12N2)(H2O)] n, has a neutral polymeric chain structure in which fumarate ligands link the Cu atoms; the chains are then linked together by hydrogen bonds. The unique CuII ion exhibits a distorted octa­hedral coordination geometry defined by three O atoms of two different centrosymmetric fumarate ligands, two N atoms from the chelating dmbpy ligand (dmbpy is 4,4′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine) and one water mol­ecule. The CuII atoms, which have crystallographic 2/ m site symmetry, are coordinated by six N atoms from four 1,1′-methyl­enedi-1 H-imidazole ligands and two NCS− anions, giving a slightly disorted octa­hedral coordination geometry.
